A good place to crash after a night out with your friends The price is pretty reasonable But they really need to work on their hygiene and update their rooms

Lately, the rooms are moudly and gives off a weird smell Thr bathroom is already leaking It needs a major upgrade or they will loose their charm and ultimately their customers

Enjoyed my stay Room was really nice and comfortable, the view from the roof is outstanding Food is pretty good but I think is a bit overpriced (when compared to what you get elsewhere in Kathmandu)

Would definitely recommend a stay My only annoyance was being called and asked to ‘check out as check out is midday’… when it was only 1130

Rajesh Shrestha

Everything was perfect during our stay in this hostel! Khem and his team have an amazing sense of hospitality, he helped us to book our bus, the laundry, and even came with us to the bus station Always in a good mood as well The breakfast is really good (mango juice, tea or coffee, banana, toasts and butter or jam or honey)

The room is pretty spacious with a balcony and hot waterThe rooftop gives you a great view for the sunrise and sunsetPerfect place to meet backpackers from around the world!

Elizabeth Varnon

I stayed at Elbrus home at the beginning of my journey and it was fabulous! The staff is so nice and accommodating, really going out of the way to ensure your comfort I am traveling solo, and I felt like I always had a go to resource if something were to happen I got the private room for probably the best rate in kathmandu! There’s no ac but they brought me a fan and I was perfect

I did some work in the common area and they always brought me tea and coffee The free breakfast is delicious, the bed is cozy, the staff is friendly, and they offer tourist bookings at the hostel! What more could you ask for?! Will be returning to this hostel at the end of my trip

Sofia Popescu

We absolutely loved Elbrus home !!! It was our first time in Nepal and the host Kem made sure to help us w any directions or planning and made us feel super comfortable and safe the whole time ! We came back to him a few weeks later at the end of our trip and again he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy ! The rooms are so lovely and the roof top has amazing views! Could not recommend this place enough, definitely stay there if in Kathmandu ! Even after 4 months of travelling, this has been one of my favourite places I’ve stayed!

Ask them out for rooms with balcony for the best of views Staff is very accommodating and ready to help you out with all they have to offer like city tours, bike rentals etc Food is also very good You can experience city’s nightlife too as most of the clubs are located on walking distance from here This hotel is couple friendly too You won’t regretJust be here

Harry Webster

Affordable hotel in the heart of tourist zone of Kathmandu Rooms are cleanish, staff are friendly, allowed us to keep excess bags there while we were on trek Showers weren’t always hot and breakfast, while staff are lovely, wasn’t the best

Biggest negative which isn’t really their fault, but wasn’t something we were aware of on booking, is the proximity to a very loud rock bar and clubs which go on very late into the night and hard to shut the noise out Again not there fault and sure it impacts all accommodation in the area but if you’re a light sleeper it would be killer

This is the hotel i loved the most during our 12 day trip to Nepal Everything about this hotel was so good Well trained staff who are very courteous and ready to take care of every need of their customer

Best part is 24 hours hot water supply Awesome spread of breakfast to suit the taste of every customer Value for money in every terms

Abby TerHaar

It was pretty bad The shower leaked, the water wasn’t hot and it’s impossible to put the ac lower than 24C They will say it’s just your room but each room is not in control of the ac

It’s only standardized with the hotel Couldn’t sleep because I was so hot felt like a sauna Definitely not worth the price The hostel I stayed in was much much better for much lower price Definitely would not recommend

Karunesh Pipariya

At Reception the staff is not that helpfulRooms are very small They have a policy of no extra bed

So travelling with child and staying in here will be very troublesome Not Pocket friendly The locks of the room not working properly, we have to ask the staff to open it from outside and they finally have to break the lock to open it Digital locks HazardsDining area Nice place Food not that tasty

We got stuck several weeks in Kathmandu due to Covid travel restrictions The first two weeks we rented rooms at an apartment guest house that was reasonably ok , but the surrounding area was congested by terrible traffic So it was a great relief to move into the quiet Hotel Mums Home instead

We soon realized that Mums was a really nice place with good service, nourishing breakfasts and very friendly an helpful staff The only thing we regret is that we stayed too long at the first place – we could have enjoyed all that time at Mums instead!

This is a perfect hotel to stay It’s very clean, from the corridors to the bedrooms, not so big but also not too small My standard bedroom is very spacious with a bathtub

The food is mostly Nepali food I chose vegetarian ones, very yummy The reception is very efficient It is a walking distance to several tourism sites in Kathmandu including the palace museum, shopping lanes and many temples The garden is also neat I enjoyed having breakfast in the restaurant, facing the garden

Shivani Mishra

My team of 40 professionals chose Malla Hotel to host a conference and I must say I was thoroughly impressed by the staff – both their warmth and their professionalism – the rooms are very good and clean for the price quoted and the location is simply unbeatable The management team went above and beyond to accommodate us My team flew in from over 30 countries and each and everyone had a memorable time at the Malla Hotel

I visited this hotel I spent almost 47 days in this hotel I really enjoyed everything the staff, food serving style everything was awesome So I suggest everyone give them chance to take care of you during your vacations

I also celebrated my marriage reception over here during that period also they guys really take care of me and my all relatives who were there during my party Especially the staff was pleasant and dedicated to their work Talking about the breakfast, lunch, and dinner that was also unexpected they really served well and well-sophisticated way If I will get the chance in the future I will definitely go there The important thing is the whole staff is bilingual which is very important when anyone visits the unknown placesGood job guys!By Maninder Singh from the USA

The hotel has nice rooms and the service is also okay Breakfast as well as dinner was pretty good The only disturbing thing was that only my boyfriend was addressed by the service staff

At check-in, when ordering food, to ask if everything is okay, etc That may be the norm in Nepal but as a western female guest who booked and payed for the room, I would like to be addressed opposed to my male companion

Total non acceptable property I never recommend anyone to stay here because of the false pictures they have displayed on Bookingcom vs the rooms they have

The service is bad, the hot water was missing, buffet breakfast is pale, the tour manager just wants to loot you & take money out of your pocket as you are a foreigner to them The beds had creeking sound while sitting/sleeping In short, totally bad experience

A surprise beautiful place within the city Calm and very well maintained The most remarkable of all is the people here

The service is absolutely amazing Specially Bijay Khadka is the person to ask for anything you need Everyone is great but he helped me for everything I will recommend to consider this Eco Resort for your Kathmandu trip It being in Thamel and close to the tourist happening place I am sure you will love it

Alisa Armacost

The staff at Thamel Eco Resort was extremely accommodating and friendly The resort itself was beautiful and much nicer than many places I had seen in Thamel The courtyard was a beautiful and peaceful place to read a book or have a cup of tea

The rooms were very clean and quiet I would definitely stay here if you’re looking for a little oasis in the middle of the crazy city!

Kev Howlett

Stayed here before and after our trek Rooms were basic but what i expected from Kathmandu It’s in the heart of Thamel so walk out your door, down the lane and Bam you are in the heart of the tourist area with everything on your doorstep

Breakfast was a little basic butt ehh when you travel it’s nice to have things different from home I’d recommend this place to stay if you want easy, clean and friendly lodgings in Kathmandu
