Maybe I am picky I expect friendly, professional staff and a bed and room I feel clean in Check-in staff was all of those

And the night clerk on day 6 when I had to extend due to a Covid exposure Those were the only times though in 7 daysPet friendly room had visible old stains and eggs Yep, eggs We are all immunocompromised due to toxic mold and environmental issues will simply be everywhere So, we suffered through it I just don’t understand how you could allow filth to the point of egg growth Alas, the housekeeper easily clarified that when I approached her letting her know I’d gladly take the dogs for a walk whenever she was ready to clean our roomShe said that they don’t vacuum pet rooms usually until after checkout because of the hair WHAT? People pay you an extra fee per pet for cleaning and you’re telling me I can’t even get daily cleaning like everyone else? No wonder you’re infested! Needless to say, after much frustration and disbelief, I was able to get that day’s cleaning I never asked again as it was gross anyway Urine stains all over the new comforter and dirty, mismatched towelsI spent a lot of money and time trying to fight mites I knew I would not get a booking refund from these people and there were no other pet friendly rooms in the area So, I did what I had to do Ridiculous And no one ever questioned me! If I had a property and tenants with two big dogs you better believe I would want to check that room at least every other dayDon’t waste your time, money or visit to the mountains because a crappie hotel tainted it!

I stayed here for a business trip paid for by my company The lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing (I’m sorry I didn’t get her name) I didn’t have a reservation and so I called before I left and she reassured me that when I arrived I would have a room and everything would be okay

It was She was so sweet The room was average Nothing great to speak of, but there wasn’t any noticeable problem and the water pressure was superb

Must say I’m very happy I had the opportunity to stay here while working in the area The staff were very polite, respectful, and helpful The room was very spacious

It has everything you would want and need It was also nice to have a hotel gym that you could actually get a decent workout in Really enjoyed that because most hotels say they have a gym, but I wouldn’t call it that Was able to enjoy everything but the pool The breakfast was delicious Definitely look forward staying here more I had no complaints during my stay here and would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and want a great hotel

Jeanine Hudson

Overall our Thanksgiving evening stay was nice We didn’t interact with the front desk since we used our Hilton App and the Digital Key to check in and out The hotel is close to my parent’s home, so we like the convenience of this new hotel

The rooms are nice and roomy Our bathroom could have been a little cleaner, which is why I only gave 4 stars It was late when we arrived and we were very tired from our long day of travel so I did not inform the desk of the issue with the bathroom

Building was too old The AC unit made too much noice There was a person leaving in a house next to our room that loved the exhaust of his Jeep

Elevator had issuesI called one day ahead to change hotel’s location but that wasn’t possible since I had already paid in full Why can’t I change a product that I had already paid for?? I didn’t want a refund just to change location

Excellent stay We traveled on a busy weekend for viewing fall colors We were unabe to find a room in Boone, so we had to take a fresh approach

I usually stay at one of the big “H” hotels, and was a little hesitant to book this room So glad it worked out as it did – the staff was excellent – friendly and efficient The rooms were basic , but far cleaner than the hotels we usually frequent I was very impressed with how clean the space was – the cleanest room I have seen in a long time – kudos to the housekeeping staff! An all-around exceptional experience Keep doing a great job – you should all be proud!

This was by far one of the nicer stays my family has had with Marriott I cannot say enough about the staff – every person we encountered was kind and always flashed a smile The front desk staff was above and beyond with every shift

Especially the evenings The gentleman who managed the overnight was the nicest and so helpful We were in for a wedding and the kids collected in the lobby The lady working the desk for that evening put on Disney+ and had a coloring contest for them Then she posted the artwork behind the front desk to show them off The property was very clean and well maintained Everything about our room was in working order and the pool was just right! We would come back to this area just to stay at the spot because it was such a positive experience! Thanks Fairfield Morganton – you are the best!

Corey Curtiss

Lara at the front desk was super friendly and helpful Love the free beer Erica at the bar was a fantastic bartender and super personable

The hotel is super clean and well Maintained The bar is well stocked with good booze (goose, Tito’s, a single malt or two, and a variety of beer Even Guinness and Shiner Bock)) this is an upscale Fairfield right downtown

A Treat

I have seen way too many hotels This one is just like many other ‘nice’ hotels catering to business travelers or people who want something a bit better This place has all that but the staff is great

These people are some of the most helpful and curtious I’ve ever met If I ever have to come back to this part of the world, I would not hesitate to stay here!

Camping here was a great experience! We spent most of our time at our site and were very comfortable There was room for multiple 2-4 tents and plenty of trees for hammock camping (which I did) The family members who own the property were friendly, welcoming, and helpful

For being a walk-in camping experience, we were pleasantly surprised to learn they help shuttle your gear in/out from the parking area in their truck bed – such a convenience! The walk in isn’t long though and is well cleared along a graveled pathThe current 3 sites are within distant ear shot but out of sight of each other, providing top-notch privacy when compared to public park camping Having a water line, tables, plentiful stacked firewood, and a raised tent pad area at our River Sounds site was wonderful We’ve typically camped at Lake James Catawba River access, but found this location when they were booked up I’m so glad we did!I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area and want a relaxed and convenient camping experience with greater privacy and fewer restrictions than public lands have (alcohol, etc) We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I did a 3 day, 2 night stay at the River Front site It was a perfect set up, and the water was easily accessible for taking a dip! Falling asleep to the sound of a river blended with the Cicada choir was the perfect ending to the dayTrey is very familiar with the land and has an honest appreciation for the way it should be preserved

Not only that, he is obviously not in this to give you a “campground” feel He has set this up to give you a true camping experience We will be back soon!

Jessica Carter

I cannot say enough about this wonderful campsite! Our experience started out being greeted by Calvin and Trey They gave us a rundown of the property, told us where things were located, and some stuff we could look for They loaded up our stuff and trailered it down to our campsite

Myself, my wife and our two kids (4 & 6) stayed at the River Front site, and it was beautiful! There was firewood already next to the fire ring, fresh (great tasting) water immediately available at the site via water line, and a view that made each morning a delight to wake up to Listening to the river run really set the tone With the right lure (I used a white spinner jig thanks to Trey’s sage advice!), you can practically pluck the trout right out of the river There were all kinds of wildlife around to see My wife and son got to see a couple of river otters catching fish right off the riverbank one morning There are a lot of great hikes with amazing views that are within a short driving distance of the area Trey checked in on us every couple of days during the week that we were there He made sure we had everything we needed and told us the history of the property It’s inspiring what he has done with the place and where he plans on taking it We look forward to coming back and seeing the additions that he has in mind

Our anniversary trip was nothing short of amazing! To say this place is beautiful is an understatement! Picture can not do it justice! My husband is from this area and to see his face light up with all hard work that has been put in to making this place what is today Is enough to tell me how amazing the people who do this are! They are so sweet and caring! We can’t wait to come back and bring our family! Take the time and unplug! It’s totally worth it! Until next time BMBR!

Came here for a wedding and was taken away The Location is beautiful with quaint buildings nestled on the side of a mountain just above a scenic riverNot to mention the locations long history as a resort\local swimming hole

Which means there is plenty to do on site, water sport wiseThere are a variety of housing options and wedding packages to choose from at a price point for everyone

Amy Northcutt

I attended an absolutely wonderful queer wedding at BMBR this weekend The accommodations were lovely – their new yurts (7-10 I think) are really nice The second floor gives a nice space to watch the river from inside and they had everything we needed

The catering that was provided by BMBR for the weekend was phenomenal Seriously incredibly good food The staff at the resort was also top notch – everyone was super friendly and helpful

Front desk staff was super friendly, way more friendly than any other hotel I’ve been to You can tell there has been recent renovations done, everything looks fresh and new, room was very clean Didn’t eat breakfast so I can’t comment on that

You can see a major improvement to the hotel since Red Roof took over, way better than it was as a Days Inn Also hotel is pet friendly, with no pet fees

Debbie Maness

This place is awesome! From the management to the housekeeping They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable! The breakfast is awesome with lots of choices from fruit, waffles, eggs, toast, yogurt, sausage biscuits and lots more It is served everyday! A nice greenway right beside the motel for walking

Very clean and well taken care of place!

I absolutely hate to give 1 star reviews, just look at my past reviews The manager of the hotel, Dilan Patel, is sketchy to say the least We arrived at the hotel later in the evening and Dilan put us in a room without a working shower and with a half working heating/ac unit

So no sleep for us🙁 The following Morning we went to the office to get a different room ( we had paid for 3 nights) the front desk couldn’t authorize anything without Dilan and he wouldn’t or didn’t authorize anything for us over the phone with the front desk We were told to wait 10 minutes, an hour later the front desk sent us to another room The new room was missing the knob to turn the shower on but we found that we could turn the water on and off but couldn’t adjust the water temperature and the floor was filthy We figured when we checked out Mr Patel would apologize for the condition of the rooms and possibly give us a small discounthe could care less What he did was wait till we were on the road home and charge $21350 to our debt card for his disgusting floors, he claimed we scratched them!!!🧐 Just be mindful if you dare to stay in his hotel that he has your card information and can and probably will make extra charges to it Just read through his other reviews Not only did we NOT scratch his filthy floors we had to wear socks in the room to keep our feet clean Stay at your own risk!!!

Stayed here for one night last week and was very impressed Showed up without a reservation and was accommodated quickly and efficiently A dark storm was rolling in and the front desk let me park my motorcycle under the apron for protection

They also went out of their way to put me in a room away from a large group to ensure my rest would be quiet This location has two things I wish every hotel had and few much more expensive ones do; black out shades and thick windows The hotel is up on a hill and my room looked down and over at the nearby freeway I was initially concerned about noise but with that thick glass, I didn’t hear a thing Plus, the roll down shades are black out style and kept the room dark when I needed to sleep in after a long day riding In addition, the room was spotless clean as well as the rest of the building This is a gem of a stay for this area and I can easily recommend the hotel

Christian Schulthess

Passed some nights for a visit in Marion: extremely welcoming, nice and service-oriented staff! Rooms and baths are very clean Overall in my opinion one of the best I have seen so far of its kind and of all brands Will surely stay there again if back

Congratulation to this staff!

Rooms fairly clean It’s a newer renovation Little to no toilet paper

We had to go to the office to ask for morewhen they clean the room they didn’t bring any new wash cloth or vacuum They need better help for sure They advertise breakfast but there was nothing to eat but coffee and Orange juice I gave three stars and that was very generous

Alexis Senft

Rooms themselves were pretty good Liked fridge, microwave, and room AC worked great Always bugs in room and not the cleanest floors/countertops however

The front desk staff have a major attitude and don’t all tell you the same thing I’ve been staying here off and on for the last few weeks and have sometimes needed a deposit and sometimes not Seems they cannot get their rules straight, or just plain don’t enforce them consistently Two of the three front desk staff I’ve encountered are power-trippers and have had an attitude with me Really makes you uncomfortable

Eric Wilson

The room itself was decent, what I don’t like is the way they do business I booked the room on priceline specifically because the listing said there was a pool I could have gone next door for like $5 extra dollars

I get there and not only is there no pool, they force me to let them charge an additional deposit, say they absolutely cannot do refunds Then when I checked out they gave me a receipt without the price on it I usually have great results staying with wyndham hotels but this kinda sucked My whole day was planned around meeting a friend in Morganton, hitting the pool for a while, and I’m stuck with no pool and it’s crazy hot out If I could have gotten the refund I’d have had a pool and a free breakfast next door

It should really be 4 1/2 stars Front desk was great, giving me a snack and points for being rewards member I always pre-request top floor away from the road, but I understand the hotel was nearly full so that may not have been possible

Interior has been remodeled since 2018 and looks great, much better attention to detail than other hotel remodels I have seen They are also back to regular breakfast fare The breakfast lady was very good at keeping everything stocked My only real complaint is the size of the fitness center I travel often for work, and when it is cold out, I prefer to use the fitness center This is the smallest, least stocked one I have seen I lived in Lenoir a long time ago, and the city had a fabulous rec center for residents that was like a YMCA Maybe Comfort could negotiate to allow guests a pass to use that facility, either complimentary or for a small fee ($5/day max) I would pay that for a nice facility like the city has Other than that, it would have been a 5 star review

I had a club fitting today February 1st with Randy & Dennis Morgan I have to say the most knowledgeable, professional and experience you can find in a golf shop with two great golf fitters I am so happy with the results I got with a new set of Ping G425 irons

They evaluated my swing speed, shaft type and everything I needed to improve my game I highly recommend any golfer looking for a new set of clubs By all means let Randy and Dennis personally fit you to help improve your game!
