This hotel went above my expectations I hadn’t stayed at a Choice hotel before, nor heard anything special about them The hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional

The hotel is clean, spacious, and safe-with great nighttime lighting in the parking lot Checking in and out was super easy, too!Our corner suite room was spacious and clean The only thing I’d recommend to the hotel is to add more furniture, including a table in the large room foyer, another cushion seat in the living area, and maybe a coffee table in the kitchen area The bathroom was spacious and clean

B W

The staff were superb! Very friendly and welcoming They acknowledged us each time we were in their presence I wished they had a complimentary breakfast like other Choice hotels; however, the comfort of the bed outweighed the breakfast available

We loved the setup of the room and could tell it was a newer hotel All the amenities that you would need were available We were even able to get laundry soap complementary, which was a blessing because we had run out of what we had brought along with us The washer and dryer were surprisingly a decent price and it was convenient to the gym with a TV to wait

Melissa Rowe

Not only was the hotel very clean and equipped with all the amenity’s but the staff was exceptionally friendly especially Ms Von!!! She was such a pleasure Ms

Von always had a smile on her face and willing to help with anything we needed Ms Von made it feel like I was walking into a relatives home every time I walked through the doors

The hotel itself is nice and the rooms were clean and well-appointed As many have noted, the parking situation can be a bit challenging Valet parking is $32/night, but there are several Palmetto Parking lots right next to the hotel for roughly $12 – $15/night

The Palmetto lots are park at your own risk, and they do place a boot on your car if you park in their lot without paying – they don’t mess around We chose to park in the $12/night lot directly behind the hotel, as we could see our vehicle out the window of our hotel room We had no issues with the parking situation during our stay of 3 nights, and were able to save some $$$ in the process As for the room, our family of 5 was able to fit comfortably and enjoyed the cleanliness of the room The only issue we had was with the TV in the bedroom, as it needed to be reset every time it was turned off, which was a hassle Our first night we notified the front desk and they called maintenance to our room The maintenance associate explained that he gets 5-6 calls about the TV’s per night and that you have to unplug cords, shut it on/off several times, and eventually the TV will work I would think that there could be a better long term solution than having your guests have to shut if off repeatedly and pull cords to get the TV to work Lastly, the location of the hotel is great It is right by many shops and restaurants on King Street, so there are a lot of offerings if you’re looking for a meal It is about a mile drive from the hotel down to the Market Street shopping area, and even further if you’re heading to the Battery, Rainbow Row, or the maritime center While you could walk to those areas from the hotel, we found that with the high heat in the 90’s during our stay, a quick car ride was better suited All in all it is a decent hotel, just some minor inconveniences

John Haskin

First of all the evening desk staff, Jose, Netta and Ty were so helpful in our check in We put the wrong street name in the gps and Netta on the phone directed us to the hotel which took at least 20 minutes, then Ty unloaded our car and Jose took us to our suite and help us unload The breakfasts were great and our chief Zambia had some great low country recipes

We also met Hilton ambassadors Joe and Sarah who were very open and friendly and had many recommendations to do during our stayThe suite was very roomy and clean and comfortable, plus the hotel was very pet friendly Their location was central to iconic restaurants and the visitor’s center and the museum of Charleston and beautiful old homes All in all a very good experience and the future hotel for our coming Charleston visits

Jayme Wilson

Hotel is close to restaurants and historic sites which is where we were wanting to be It was clean and had excellent customer service Everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful

Breakfast was good and had different “hot” items every morning so it wasn’t the same thing every day which was nice Beds were comfy We would book here again

Lori Marshall

Our family of 5 traveled to Charleston for the first time for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and we were so blessed to find a B&B in a beautiful, historic home – 15Church Street – just 1 block from the Battery in the heart of the historic district We truly felt like locals as we were able to walk virtually everywhere we wanted to go very easilyJack and Annelise are warm, welcoming and engaging hosts who have anticipated every need a visitor could have

Their gorgeous home is beautifully decorated with lovely antique furniture and artwork Precious pup Juliette oversaw our comings and goings so sweetly Our breakfasts were delicious, especially the Hominy Surprise And Happy Hour on the veranda with our gracious hosts and other guests was a highlight Jack and Annelise have fascinating stories about the history of the city, as well as their own history And they are great tour guides as they have helpful suggestions on where to eat and what sights to see in Charleston and the surrounding areaWe stayed in the Carriage House which was perfectly appointed for five people with 1200 square feet – essentially three bedrooms and 2 full baths – and attached to the house with easy access to the kitchenOn our last morning we felt as if we were saying goodbye to family after a special holiday visit We will only stay here when we return to Charleston, and we will recommend it to everyone we know Thank you, Jack, Annelise and Julie for a truly memorable stay!

Lindsay Browning

What a wonderful weekend we experienced at 15 Church We were welcomed with open arms into a beautiful historic home Jack & Annelise were fabulous hosts caring for our every need with such attention to detail, even serving birthday cake after breakfast to one of our group

The full breakfasts were delicious and varied We loved sitting on the porch for early morning coffee and reading in the afternoon The Charleston Social Hour was a highlight of every day where we enjoyed fine wine and visiting with our hosts, as well as other guestsI was with 5 girlfriends for a friend’s reunion Several girls got up to watch the sun rise since it was only two blocks to Battery Park We had a wonderful time at the Charleston Tea Plantation & a garden tour We were in the Carriage House which suited our needs perfectly I will definitely come again and highly recommend this lovely B&BDeborah B

Brandon Schrader

We had an amazing stay with Jack and Annelise! They were more thank gracious hosts and made our stay as comfortable as could be! The location is perfect and very close to the battery and many of the main attractions in the heart of downtown Charleston We would absolutely stay here again and feel right at home with the fabulous hospitality If you are looking for something with lots of southern charm in a quiet area with lots to see, you should definitely stay at 15 Church St B&B!

We just returned having stayed here for 3 wonderful days! Great location right on King Street and we found the hotel was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Charleston The staff are really friendly, and the room & hotel have a classic elegant feel Beautiful lobby

Plus, everything was clean and well maintained We will be back!!

Craig Nies

So far so good! Very nice room with that old Charleston feel Restaurant and bar have very good food and beverages Biggest issue is figuring out parking, like everywhere on Charleston, but the hotel has access to public parking a half block away

I recommend sussing it out ahead of time; the hotel will allow you to unload luggage and get it into your room from the valet parking zone, even if you’re self parking Just be efficient about it so the next guest has room to do the same Great stay

Kimberly M

I love the Francis Marion Hotel and wish I could’ve stayed longer! I’ll definitely go back The decor was really cute, the hotel lobby was clean, the concierge was incredibly helpful and kind, the hotel itself is in a great location, and the room

cozy but comfortable and cute😊I had a really tasty breakfast at the restaurant downstairs as well I ordered eggs benedict with the gritsso good The staff was very hospitable as well and the dining area was inviting with a view of the main street-from where I was seated I would go back next time for cocktails and possibly dinner😊

Tamika Farmer

This hotel was absolutely fantastic! I was here for 3 days for a leadership meeting and my bed was soft with the many feather pillows, very clean and spacious room with artistic elements The hotel also has delicious food (Lenoir restaurant: try the catfish and pimento stuffed martini) and offered wine offerings in the evenings but just note, because this hotel is in an awesome location to the shops, you will need to book in advance I chose to valet park instead of self parking so I wouldn’t be concerned with worrying about my vehicle

Michele Vold

I must write this review if our beloved Renaissance Charleston This was our fourth stay at the hotel starting from the time it opened I read some of the more negative comments before we left home this trip and I was worried

The last time we were here was about 3 years ago At the time the hotel had a whimsical and very appealing decor The artwork, furniture and accessories were fabulous It had a restaurant open all day where we had breakfast on occasion Yes, the hotel has remodelled and it is not as attractively done as it had been Yrs, the Dining Room that served breakfast now is set up like a Starbucks which had interesting things that are prepared and warmed There is a dinner restaurant that must be good because people not staying in the hotel ( locals) choose it Yes, the rooms are small and storage is a problem but we are here now for 7 days and doing fine!HOWEVER, and you MUST read on 1 There is no hotel I have been to (and we are world travellers) where you will get better service From the bell staff to the front desk to the housekeepers, there is a pervasive kindness and desire to make you happy 2 Though the rooms are not enormous, the beds and linens are the most comfortable I have been in in a hotel 3 The location is the best in Charleston! You are steps from King Street and steps from Meeting Street giving you easy walking access to everything I feel like I am in a residence and not a hotel We are from Chicago and we have travelled the world so I hope you can read my opinion and take it seriously If something was off, I have no doubt that a quick call to the front desk would solve the problem Don’t ignore this hotel because of a few unhappy people

Michael Ping

What a wonderful hotel Everything was perfect The staff was very nice

Dana was a great Navigator She helped us with reservations and helpful tips The hotelIs in a great location Everything is no more than a 10 or 15 minute walk (or less) The coffee shop was also very convenient We appreciated the upgrade since we had two teenage boys and the extra room space was awesome I have to mention the valet staff They were fantastic Always polite and quick

If you’re going to stay in Charleston, stay at The Mills House Absolute perfection! Eating, shopping and sightseeing all in walking distance from the hotel I’ll never stay anywhere else

The staff and accommodations are top notch 🤌 Rooms clean, spacious with beautiful views We really enjoyed our stay My only regret is we didn’t try the in-house restaurant Always smelled amazing Great price point too

Susanne W

Great experience! The Bell Captain and Valet were wonderful! (Seth and John) They held my car, gave me some suggestions for the area, and were super nice! Housekeeping was also quite fab given they allowed me a extra long stay at checkout so I could hit a deadline with work Wonderful! I think they may be undergoing renovations soon

I am sure it will be gorgeous!

The hotel was very clean and the staff was super nice As far as the rooms go, the beds are super comfy and the bathroom was a pretty decent size I definitely agree with people saying it’s very minimal, yet elegant

This describes the hotel perfectly! The only complaint I had was that their food quality was kinda low for my expectations of such a nice hotel The bartender also failed to tell me there was an $11 extra charge to add something to my drink, so I paid $26 for a cocktail that was mediocre at best I couldn’t even finish it

Tolu Olagbaju

Great food at Eliza bar for dinner and Jen was a great bartender She made some great recommendations for our trip into the city Breakfast was delicious with gluten free options and amazing hash browns

Chelsea was amazing and really helped me sub-out options for my needs Great service from the waitress Nice rooms with comfortable beds and very nice showers The furniture is super cute and well made with lots of space to put away our clothes There is a heated pool which is nice since we came here in FebruaryOnly complaint was the room doors slam very loudly so you could hear people coming and going It did not wake me up at night thoughI would come out here again Front desk staff was kind and friendly and Cotea was always ready to help me with every request I made Everyone was kine and even the maintenance man said hello

Melinda Heath

We stayed for the weekend while we were in town, the staff was very friendly and accommodating It’s nice and quiet and just a short drive into town The bathrooms were probably some of the cleanest hotel bathrooms we’ve ever seen

The rooms were very cute and very clean The pool area was picture perfect! our only complaint was the bed and pillows were the worst bed we’ve ever slept on For the price of the hotel we expected a better bed than what we sleep on at holiday inn express

These adorable, well decorated cottages are right on the harbor, taking advantage of the cooling breezes There are two bedrooms with lovely ensuite baths on each end, which makes it super private for two couples PLUS an extra full bath off the kitchen

Everything we needed was right there We loved sitting on the screen porch watching the ships go by Very nice pool with sitting area and ocean view Lisa and staff were super helpful Highly recommend this great place!

Jonathan Brown

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottages We immediately started planning to return after one night of a 9 night stay The view was amazing and we utilized the screened in porch morning noon and night

We loved to watch the barges and many boats go by us and the tides in the ocean You have the option to order your groceries ahead of time to eliminate a trip to the store before check in We also liked the option of ordering sandwichs, chocolates, and croissants to be in the cabin when we arrived The location is great with the resort next door if you want to hang out there to eat or enjoy the live music on Friday nights Patrots point is a 5 minute walk for the tourist boats and Mount Pleasant is minutes away for shopping and more restaurants Lisa and the office staff is very friendly and helpful if you need anything or have questions about the area Would highly recommend

I am an IHG platinum elite members and have stayed at different IHG hotels over the last 20 years This hotel and stay at the end of Jan 2022 was my favorite in the last 3 years Why? I usually check in for work but this time I checked in for a family trip with my wife and 3 year old son, Patrick

Miles at the front desk was super friendly and kind although we checked in late at night and my son was throwing a tantrum He also gave us an excellent room without even asking The next morning, Gigi, was also very friendly and helpful at the front desk Griffin, who was preparing breakfast, made fresh pancakes just did us 10 minutes before the free breakfast closed at 11 AM And Ebony from the cleaning team was also very responsive and helpful with anything we needed in the morning We were also impressed with how clean and spacious our room was and how clean the entire hotel is Definitely one of my best stays at an IHG hotel over the last 20 years Thank you Miles, Gigi, Griffin and Ebony for working here!

It’s a lovely property, I was here with friends and family and there was a great outside gathering place with plenty of tables and chairs Rooms were nice, a bit small, we had two queen beds which were comfortable Nice pool area, access to downtown by water taxi and or shuttle

Fish House restaurant was great, food was good and servers were fun and efficient! There’s other bars on the property but we did not go to any of them I Would highly recommend this place

Stephenie Young

Quiet resort, nice to be across from downtown, while easily accessible Nice to use both this and the Beach Club amenities Food was good at restaurants (Fish House the best of all of them)

Pools were clean, water was refreshing, but not freezing The shuttle was always on time and the water taxi, while a few minutes behind, was the perfect way to get back and forth from town Room was upgraded from what I booked, a pleasant surprise Beautiful view and balcony Would definitely stay again

Jenn Deloach

Gold Elite member here Stayed 2 days here to visit Charleston Some of the staff were very nice but didn’t have a great experience

The reason for the 1 star is multiple reasons (1) It started when I was trying to book the room online with my AAA card The website showed one rate but refused to book it I called the hotel and they said they would leave a note for management They adjusted it but didn’t lower it to the rate that was online (2) We are paying 250/night for a courtyard When we checked in, the front desk staff was great and super nice but our room completely smelled of a heavy cleaning solution and caused headaches They couldn’t switch us because no rooms were available (understandable) but no discount or other solution was offered It did go away on our second day (3) Our hotel room had only 3 towels for a double queen room sleeping 4 When cleaning staff came into our room, they still left 3 towels Our beds were not made and only trash was taken out (4) Our AC isn’t working properly when we got back into the room on a cool 77 degree night I called the front desk and they sent somebody up but and he basically stood 6 inches from the AC and said it’s blowing cool and nothing he could do He didn’t even check the AC temp with a temp gun and basically didn’t even bother to check the system, filter or anything I lifted up the flap on the actual unit and wiring was exposed with no protected plate I am beyond upset and disappointed at this service for the rate and not up to Marriott standards

Mike K

Was trying to find a place in historic Charleston and found the prices in the $300 range Only planned on staying a night and looked for other options Found the Courtyard by Marriott Mount Pleasant online

It’s about 15 min from downtown and at a great price of $141 The staff was excellent at check-in Rooms were spacious and very clean This is a great option if your not wanting to spend a lot and still be close to historic Charleston

Zuri Gebert

1 Completely unacceptable to receive a confirmation with one price and then receive a notification that your credit card was charged a different charge and when you ask the difference in price

no one can tell you a reason (Spoke with at least 4 different people and no one could explain to us why we charged over)2 Went to use the iron/ironing board and the ironing board was in pieces and broken3 The bathroom door wouldn’t lock the lock wasn’t even lined up correctly to the frame4 There was a youth baseball group there for a tournament, so all night there were kids slamming doors and running down the halls5 We asked and were approved for a late check out (3pm), we leave for a military ceremomy, planning to come back to shower and check outour keys no longer work Speak with front desk and she tells us no one changed our check out to a later time (She was wonderful tho! Super sweet and helpful)-The hotel is a great location but not worth the hassle in my opinion

We enjoyed our stay at The Dewberry The staff was very professional and they looked for opportunities to make our stay warm and welcoming at all times Never a moment we had to ask for anything

You get an A plus for hospitality Breakfast was very nice Our room was clean and comfortable Your location is fantastic Everything was perfect and we will be returning when we come back to Charleston

Considering how much we paid + how talked up this hotel was, the room was okay at best No smart TVs, make up mirror didn’t work after being replaced 2 times, limited (VERY) closet space, gross carpeting I have super high standards when it comes to hotels and this one just didn’t have many of the “basics” that come along with a high price tag

Spa was also okay at best, relaxation room only … no sauna, pools, nothing special Gym was a tiny closet!

Stayed here on our honeymoon, it was a perfect experience in many ways At the time we stayed here (fall 2021) there was no restaurant, though there were several bars with food options I hope they have put a restaurant in since then, check that if it’s important to you!Staff here went above and beyond to make our stay a special one, they were always reachable and courteous

The concierge desk had plenty of helpful tips for things to do both on the peninsula and elsewhereWe stayed during the week, it was pretty calm and quiet during this time Come Thursday night, though, the weekend crowd started to come in There was a notable difference in the noises in the halls and rooms around ours during that time, nothing worth reporting or complaining about, but a far cry from the tranquil calm we experienced during the weekWe tested several spa experiences – the massage we can recommend and the Carolina wrap we suggest skipping (not much more than a rote application of lotions)Location was great – we were able to walk pretty much anywhere on the peninsula, and we had a great view of the bridgeIf money is no problem for you or if you are looking for a nice fancy treat, we suggest the Dewberry!

Absolutely wonderful hotel! I recently visited Charleston with my boyfriend and we stayed in two different hotels- the restoration was by far superior and definitely a place we will returnBreakfast is delivered in a basket to your room every day and it is delicious! The pool is perfect and the restaurant is fantastic as well They also have a free wine and cheese happy hours daily and a jeep shuttle that brings you anywhere downtown

This hotel is the perfect location because it is right in downtown Charleston and was actually cheaper than our first hotel that was significantly farther and didn’t include all of those great perks that the restoration doesI cannot recommend this hotel enough- the other guests who we spoke to felt the same way!

The Restoration is what all boutique hotels wish to be The accommodations were beautiful and clean! The A/C in our room was cold and welcomed after the day in the heatWhat really stands out about The Restoration is their attention to small details, which made a huge impact

The drink service in the room and morning breakfast picnic baskets were great Always having cold, fresh water in the room was awesome! We enjoyed the Wine and cheese in the afternoons Also, the jeep to bring us to dinner was a really fun touch! The staff was so charming, kind, helpful and welcoming! I can’t say enough great things about this hotel and our stay!

Overall the hotel was phenomenal Beautiful lobby, awesome valet, really cool furniture and decor We booked a corner suite for our anniversary, and the room was really nice

Very spacious, comfy bed, had a record player, really cool furniture and decor The courtyard and Frannie and the Fox were great, really enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine My overall experience was 5 starsI do have some complaints that I hope the management will address- water in the shower was just kind of warm (room 324), never got hot- handles to the bathroom were loose and banged up, and the sliding door sometimes didn’t stay closed- would have liked to have coffee in room- housekeeping didn’t come the first day (full disclosure I took a 3 hour nap in the afternoon and had the do not disturb sign on) Then on our last day they knocked on our door twice before 11am checkout which made me feel kind of rushedI’d stay here again or recommend it to a friend Although for the price some might find the above quibbles a turn off for $500/night

My husband booked this hotel for my birthday and I felt so bad that he wasted his money When we arrived we were told the room wasn’t ready so we left our items with valet and walked around for a bit Valet was AMAZING! They were so kind, helpful and seriously the best part of the hotel

When we came back to check on our room around 4:30 our room still wasn’t ready and the front desk staff didn’t care that we needed to get ready for our dinner reservation They were not very kind throughout our stay We finally got them to switch our room Why have a check in time if it isn’t accurate especially if you would charge us for checking out late At least put something on the website that check in times could be delayed When we got to the room, certain light switches didn’t work, no coffee in the room but we had mugs? When we inquired about finding some place to purchase drinks for the room we were scoffed at because this place didn’t have vending machines Overall for the price you pay per night this hotel is absolutely missing many key details, like customer service!! The location is perfect but we wouldn’t stay here nor recommend it I only give it any stars because the valets were the absolute best!

Great European boutique hotel Loved the architecture, decor, and vibe! Spacious king suite with urban European decor, and a super comfortable mattress! Very nice lobby and terrific location in the heart of downtown Loved the restaurant and it’s ambiance, with both indoor and outdoor sophistication and charm

The cafe was spacious and inviting with huge windows and very good coffee My only suggestion is adding more healthy breakfast options The hotel manager couldnt have been nicer, and the service was excellent We can’t wait to return!!

I feel like I cannot say enough good things about this hotel Came into town for a girls trip with a friend and we stayed here for just about a week The location of the hotel was great for all we wanted to do

It’s about 10 minutes from Isle of Palms Beach, 25 to downtown Charleston, 30 from the airport, and there’s restaurants (open late) within walking distance We felt very safe in the area and at the hotel Our room was very clean so was the entire hotel, we always saw staff cleaning some part Front desk staff is very friendly and helpful The breakfast guy during the week made our stay! I can’t remember his name, but he was extremely friendly, made us feel right at home, said good morning to us each day and thanked us for coming down, he made some great food too! The banana nut waffles were amazing, my breakfast will never be the same Overall I’d give this hotel a high rating and would definitely stay again and reccomend to anyone looking for a good, clean, safe, and budget friendly hotel

Check in was painful on Sunday 7/17It seems that the Embassy Hilton Mt Pleasant SC is short staffed that is what we were told by the staff working Guest were lined up in the lobby while the check in desk was trying their best 4 o’clock check in never happened We had to downgrade our reservation to get into suite which was on the first floor pool side around 5

30 pm I understand that children away from home and parents are looking to enjoy the property the pool was still going strong at 11pm an hour after closing making for a loud stay that first night in a room that we settled forOur room was clean although the linens and towels seemed damp like they never finished in the rinse cycle during washing The happy hour on Sunday was filled with guest that still had not checked into a room some waited to after 7 pm to get settledThe happy hour chips, salsa and some cut up veggies went fast as families with children fed them first then parents waited on the long line for a cocktail Nothing special beer wine and mixed drinks the snacks not a selling pointThe bartender explained that there were issues with help and apologized he was the only person on staff that did , a very nice fellow working hard Breakfast was the best part of the stay the staff was nice and efficient the coffee was hot and goodWe chose to check out a day early as after a long day in Charleston we returned for happy hour Monday before heading out for diner Being served was warm cubed cheese and some little toast both were unappetizing with the same goldfish pretzel mix dispensers getting a work outWe have stayed at Hilton properties many many times in the past always our first choice, while making the reservations we finally got the Hilton honors thing worked out this time and were awarded points for our last stays this year– all other stays were lostThe hotel itself is very nice it is brand new we were told while making the reservations on the phone We never received a email confirming our stay I had to call the hotel to confirm directlyThere are always little issues with any stay away from home the staff Sunday here were in over their heads While checking out a day early there was only one attendant who was polite but did not ask us why we were leavingI did inquire why the room rate was increased for weekday stay over the weekend rates I was told it gets more expensive each day during the week of your stay even booked in advance that was a new experienceThis hotel is located in a great location for getting around into the downtown area called the French Quarter The property has good parking , you will need to remind the staff if you are handicapped not to charge you to park in the garage something I had to work out while making the reservation over the phoneThe staff could not answers any questions about the area attractions which was a disappointment my wife did receive a tourist map which was helpful If you chose to stay here be patient while you try to enjoy your stayWe had hoped for a better experience as Charleston is a nice place to spend a few days the Hilton Mt Pleasant needs to manage the staff who clearly can not handle the volume of guest at this time

Jennifer Pellin

Love the location My stay at this hotel was great I thought the staff was amazing and very helpful with things to do/eat in the area

The hot breakfast in the morning was out of this world and a great addition, saving from driving out I wasn’t a fan of the $25 night parking, think this is something the hotel should cover I’m a clean freak and is “VERY” detailed My room was cleaned nicely only problem I had was the shower I don’t want to see pieces of long hair on the glass door nor bottom door slide, and dried up soap in the holder from the previous guest when I’m taking one But that’s something that can be fixed So overall, I will choose this location again
