My Money Discovery

I don’t usually write reviews but this is ridiculous! I’m extremely exhausted, been up for work since 3am and I’ve been moved twice now My first room, the toilet was messed up and the second room had bugs!! The receptionist was nice and accommodating However I didn’t pay almost $700 to sleep with bugs

I could have stayed at the Days Inn for that Do better Marriott!! I stay at Marriott resorts and hotels regularly This is a HUGE disappointment!!

Duke Jones

Lady at desk was awsome and that’s where it ends Rooms are outdated And are you serious with no free breakfast

Hate Marriott Most over priced hotel for the worst amenities of any chain hotelNot even a microwave in room That way they can charge for any food item you want hot at their “bistro”Free everywhere else though

My husband and I just returned from a lovely weekend at the DuPont where we stayed in the Carnegie Suite It was truly beautiful We thoroughly enjoyed the entire home

Christopher was so informative and kind We had great conversations together about the home, the area, dining options and the garden We definitely will stay again should we return to the area Oh…and breakfast was delicious!

Lauren Dominick

The DuPont Mansion definitely did not disappoint my husband and I We parked right out front and were immediately greeted at the door by Christopher, the innkeeper He gave us a tour of the beautiful mansion, thankfully still all decked out for Christmas

It was absolutely beautiful!!! We had an amazing night, and an even better breakfast Christopher cooked us his “not so downtown abbey” pancakes that were to die for, and we had delicious coffee and juice while we watched the squirrels play through the window Amazing!!!

Russ Buege

What a find! Historic, cozy yet elegant, inside and out Nice shared spaces on the ground floor and outdoors as well Great location in historic neighborhood and next to a park

Breakfast was creative and tasty each morning served with Chris’s great conversation Just the weekend atmosphere I was looking for Thank you and will return!

Tru By Hilton was very nice, clean and the breakfast was good We had to leave a Marriott Courtyard on Chamberlain Lane due to finding bed bugs I don’t usually post reviews but when we arrived at Tru By Hilton the receptionist made us feel better that we would definitely have no issues with any bugs

She even apologized for us having a bad experience I was sure I would not sleep but after searching the room we didn’t even find a hair The room was so clean and felt refreshing I loved that the room did not have carpeting I want to thank the Tru By Hilton for helping us with a comfortable, clean stay

Bh

I wish I had done some better research before staying here I guess I got fooled by the fact that this was a more expensive Hilton room But the room was very tiny, there was no microwave, and there were no laundry facilities! The breakfast was good though

Also, I thought the front desk worker was a homeless person! It wasn’t until he got up from the lounge area and came over to the front desk that I realized he worked there

This is truly a gem of Louisville– if you’re looking for a place to stay, stop your search and just book it! The property is a treasure, lovingly cared for and located centrally to all Louisville has to offer You can tell that Jason is proud of both Louisville and the home, making what could feel like an immense mansion feel like your home away from home We had fun exploring not just the neighborhood but the house itself, which is full of fun treasures from days gone by

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the food delicious We would not hesitate to stay here again on future visits to Louisville!

Tim Hunkler

We needed a place for a Saturday overnight in Louisville and were tired of the hit and miss with hotel/motel quality So glad we tried out this mansion Jason was a great host, and answered all our questions and provided suggestions for places to eat and visit

He even let us park in the driveway if the street was full, even though it would block him inAs others have noted, the interior of the mansion is historic, with a wide variety of architectural features In addition, the owners have spent years in filling the place with period pieces and antiques There was so much to look at in every roomWe enjoyed the neighborhood, and did a walking tour of many of the streets nearby, taking tons of photos Jason recommended St James Court, a few blocks away, and that was just amazingWe used the “Louisville Room” located on the 3rd floor, with an en-suite bathroom It was spacious and comfortable for the two of us for the nightWe enjoyed the magnificent dining room setting and having our breakfast cooked for us in the morning It is not often a person gets treated like the rich and famous and gets served!! That was a treatIf we find ourselves in Louisville again, we would see if there is a room availableI regret there was not enough time for a more thorough tour of the interior Perhaps next time

AR C

I cannot express how wonderful our stay at the mansion was The food was out of this world and the hospitality could not have been better My party stayed here for the 2013 Kentucky Derby and it felt like we were living in the mansion, not just guests

The mansion is beautiful inside and we enjoyed lounging in the main rooms and having a cocktail on the front porch Each morning the table was set beautifully for breakfast The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could be I will stay here again, no doubt Many warm thanks to Rudy, Jason and Beverly for a wonderful experience

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful The room was clean and comfortable The staff was very friendly and helpful

I wished we had looked into the evening food option a little more because that would have saved us money and time on going out, but we did enjoy the affordable cocktails We had such a nice time that we stayed at a Drury Inn the next week in a different city and will definitely do so again in the future

Derek Hanson

Had a great week at the Drury Inn and Suites Louisville East for the National Speech and Debate tournament! Check-in was easy for my group, and we arrived in time for the 5:30 kickback (which was excellent) Rooms were well-done, and while there was a little wear in the bathrooms, by and large they were excellent with plenty of space and a high standard of cleanliness Staff were very polite and professional

Being from the West Coast, I hadn’t heard of the Drury brand before After my experience here, I plan to use them as one of my preferred options when I’m traveling with groups to points East! Thanks for a great stay!

Nice hotel Clean, comfortable room Loved the presence of a fridge and microwave

Indoor/outdoor pool is very nice Great experiences with the staff Plenty of breakfast options Location is decent Pain in the butt getting in and out of the side street it is located on, however, this lends itself to being a quieter area Plenty of restaurants within walking distance

This was by far one of my best experiences with hotels I have never been to a hotel where ALL staff members were pleasant and accommodating Anything that I needed was provided without hesitation

My kids loved hanging out in the lobby The pool was comfortable The rooms were super clean and the breakfast was perfect It was the attention to small details that will keep me coming back

Suzanna Yuhasz

This was a very nice hotel, I like that they give you bottles of water at check-in Front desk staff was friendly The room was nice, the mattresses are medium hardness and comfortable (I noticed other reviewers varied in whether they thought they were hard or soft)

I liked that toiletries were in large dispensers rather than the disposables hotels often have, also they have lotion and liquid hand soap Breakfast was satisfactory, the pancake machine was great and they had a variety of toppings for them including powdered sugar which my son prefers and is rarely offered The biggest (only?) con may not be typical for this location but the coffee at breakfast was literally the worst coffee I have ever had I added my normal cream and sugar, it was undrinkable I doubled my normal cream and sugar and it was still undrinkable, I dumped it in the toilet

Todd Crow

This hotel is absolutely wonderful! The property is absolutely spotless- I’ve seen employees dust and clean items I wouldn’t have even thought of! Wonderful complimentary coffee/tea bar and an outstanding breakfast with tons of hot and cold options There is a large common area in the main lobby with plenty couches, table seating, and workspaces, as well as a pool table and a large TV The rooms are very nice and efficient with plenty of outlets and a large shower

Above all else, the staff is the greatest part of this location I have had nothing but good experiences with every employee from housekeeping all the way up to the GM Top-notch service and I’ve truly enjoyed my days here! Please don’t hesitate to stay here if you’re ever in the area because you certainly won’t regret it!

Needed a little getaway and have enjoyed staying at Staybridge locations because of the larger suite-like rooms The price was right so I booked for 3 nights I had read some reviews that had me concerned, but had no complaints whatsoever with this hotel

Staff were very friendly–from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff This looks like it was one of the first Staybridge properties built, but it has aged well and the rooms were clean, comfortable and roomy and seems updated This location is very centrally located and there are numerous restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive The outdoor pool was not yet open I would imagine it would be open for the summer months I had their breakfast which was pretty good Eggs, bacon, wafflesand the other normal hotel breakfast type items I would highly recommend this hotel

Aleena Dicken

This was an experience and just wait until you unfortunately meet the front desk lady that is supposed to be the GM She was very rude to me when I called to ask her questions on why she charged my friend a pet fee when he didn’t even have a pet, I did and I visited with my service dog that lives in Louisville On top of that she continued to lie to me over the phone and said she expressed to my friend that he was going to be charged extra which she didn’t

The only thing that was expressed to me was have him on a leash I would of just taken my dog home if I would have known my friend was going to be charged She also expressed there is signs all over the hotel saying you will be charged but again communication in this business is key and when I initially brought my dog in the first time and they said he just needs a lash that would have been a good time to tell us we were going to be charged The hotel was not very clean, bugs all over the place His refrigerator broke on him Also the A/C was not cold or didn’t work because it felt like a Sauna when you walked in I personally would not have anything negative to say but when I called to take to the GM she was very unhelpful and rude She clearly has no customer service Good luck if you plan on staying at this hotel

Not Staybridge quality Only plus it was clean and bed was comfortable We are Diamond Spire Elites

They upgraded me day of to a King Suite Girl on phone was an absolute sweetheart Woman at desk this morning not so much None of rooms have 2 queen beds I was told which was fine for just myself and my little girl But bigger families may struggle with one bed Only Kings and pullout couch Only stayed one night Bathroom very run down Bottom of shower peeling so badly that sharp edges sticking up No hot water in sink Luke warm Toilet seat looks melted Horrible quality lighting in mirror area Air conditioning system is in closet in bedroom and very loud to point I had to wear my noise canceling earbuds Everytime it kicked on it woke us up I told frontdesk lady in morning and she was very ksera and said “Oh yes it is loud” Also didn’t apologize for shaddy bathroom or non Staybridge quality breakfast It is equal to an express breakfast Not Staybridge quality Honestly would have rather express because at least I would’ve gotten cinnabon rolls Not even cheese for powder eggs was available Waffle maker didn’t even have spray Note up they spray each morning Well her waffle was dry and stuck So maybe spray it more than once a morning Overall polite staff except older woman on checkout day She made my concerns feel invalidated Management is clearly skimping on quality for food and room maintenance Could be a decent property

This place is CLEAN! The staff was very friendly It’s located close to I-64, but hidden behind a gas station The room itself had lamp shades that needed to be replaced, a picture on the wall that was crooked, and carpet with exposed staples along the wall

The bed was comfortable The location is under renovation; this was not explicitly stated on the site when I booked the room According to a “please don’t rate us poorly” email after my stay, the location had an “accident” and is working with insurance to repair the facility The email also says the “Info and Policies” section of the website states that the location is being renovated In other words, the fact that their facility is under renovation is buried in the “fine print” A “please excuse our dust” message would be more honest prior to booking Or, an email regarding the renovation after booking would be helpful with the option to cancel at no charge if the guest is not comfortable staying in a location that is under (re)construction

Brian Roof

Hotel is undergoing major renovation, so things are a bit rough in the lobby and for access into the building -1 star for failing to notify guests of the heavy construction however I’m happy to see it being done I was a little annoyed by the emails this location sends to customers basically implying that we are terrible people if we don’t give a 5 star review as it will affect their staff bonus

Take care of your own staff, or maybe just give them bonus out of pocket since you are the one causing issues for them Either way, it’s kind of rude and dishonest how the email was wordedEverything was clean in the room, with no other issues, so overall the stay was acceptable

We stayed the weekend to attend the Farm and Machinery ShowThe rooms were marked way up, which is understandable, if the rooms were clean and we could have actually slept Saturday night Walking into the room, you could see that little effort was made in cleaning the room

When I walked into the bathroom, the floor was sticky The bathtub was dirty, and there was fresh caulking on the bathtub that was still tacky feeling I laid hand towels on the sink because when I lifted the tray of coffee items up, it was wet and dirty under it as well as under the mirror The vent for the air conditioner was half off, so if someone had a small child in that room, they could very easily get hurt The beds were comfortable, but the bedding had stains on it Also, there was a queen sized fitted sheet on a king size bed and it kept coming off We dealt with it, knowing how busy the hotel was On Saturday night, we arrived back at the hotel and we had no fresh linens and could tell housekeeping had not been there We went to the front desk and asked for linens We were told that you have to request housekeeping I understand the concept, but I would suggest to let guests know this upon check in Walking back to our room, there was a group by the elevator drinking and being very loud Not long after we got back to our room there were people yelling and screaming at each other, wanting to fightThis went on for about 45 minutes At that point I was concerned for my safety and could not go to sleep After that situation was over, there were people yelling in the halls until almost 3am I am unsure of why others were not removed from the property for being drunk, and out in the halls disrupting those trying to sleep I got maybe 3 hours of sleep and we went to have breakfast, which is very good Our waitress was one of the best My husband went to check out and told the front desk of the situation and got a very insincere apology We paid over 600 for two nights there and I will not do that ever again

Emily Kidd

I don’t normally leave reviews, but my experience here was terrible We came for the Farm Machinery Show, which from what I understand is one of the largest events Louisville holds each year We were told that every year prior, the hotel offered a shuttle to the convention center

Apparently they don’t do that anymore & they were pretty rude about letting us know that upon arrival (we had to ask first) The chair in our room had holes in the fabric The room itself wasn’t the cleanest Housekeeping is apparently only available upon request now (another thing we had to find out for ourselves) When we did request more towels and coffee pods, we received 2 towels, no coffee pods When we voiced our concerns to the front desk staff about this & more, she told us our room would be half price upon checkout When we checked out about an hour later, she changed her tune and only one night was charged at half price (half price still being over $150 for the night) I understand that Covid has been hard on everyone, but we weren’t shown any hospitality here from those in the ‘hospitality’ industry Next year, we’ll choose one of the many other nearby hotels who did offer things like a shuttle The Hilton or the Hampton are just two of many other hotel shuttles we saw all weekend at the expo center If you’re booking for the NFMS & are expecting a similar stay to previous shows, I’d say book elsewhere

J. Lamar H.

A great place to stay you are less than 3 minutes from the airport Really good spot a nice quick overnight to get a good night’s sleep so you don’t have to fight the traffic in the morning You’re able to leave your car at the hotel take the shuttle and then come back and pick your car up and go

Internet could be better and I will say this hotel is very active so if you want a good night’s sleep talk to the front desk to make sure you’re on the floor that is not as active as the one I was on

Loved our stay here as we passed through Louisville! The room was clean and updated The check in was super fast and efficient (so nice after a 14 hour long car ride) I was grateful for the nightlight in the bathroom as well, to keep from using the bright overhead bathroom lights at night

Complimentary breakfast was good and right on time at 6am Staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient This was in stark contrast to a Holiday Inn Express we stayed in a few days before Haven’t stayed in a Hampton Inn in years, but will now be looking for them when traveling

Catherine Vance

We had a wonderful experience staying here We were on the road in our moving truck and found this stop along the way Pet friendly (did have to pay a small fee), clean rooms, and great breakfast in th morning

We had a moment there that we thought we lost one of cats in the room and two staff members did everything to help us find this cat Turns out she had found a hidden space which took us an hour to find We really appreciate the kind staff that helped us find our cat! I would recommend this hotel to everyone that is staying in the area, you will get great, kind service!

Margaret Jones

This Hampton Inn was affordable except for the 75 dollar pet fee The establishment is modern and airy and cleanThe pool was closed which was extremely disappointing

Nice place Great employees Great base price

A most exceptional Inn experience The Mansion is beautifully restored, with its fireplaces, period style light fixtures and detailed woodwork, and perfectly appointed Ellen is a very kind and thoughtful host, the most welcoming and accommodating Innkeeper we’ve ever met
