I have been staying here for a long time If you stay for a few days you won’t be let downThe staff is absolutely amazing! Close to the bus line and metro Dog park right across the street Police station on the corner (felt incredibly safe) Grocery store across the street Our room was very spacious and perfect for two adults (one disabled and traveling with a wheelchair and crutches), our 13 yo son and our 150 lb service animal We had plenty of room The staff is simply amazing and very friendly and accommodating

Hotel was in a good location with wonderful service Main entrance doors locked at night the lot across the street only charged $30 for overnight parking instead of the $50 the hotel charges

Poor wifi however, and the shower door kept sliding open while in the shower Also, even though we noted that 4 will be staying, we were given a room for 2: toiletries, towels, no sheets for the sleeper couch, silverware and plates and cups… they do have good service though and although it took a few calls, everyone was very friendly and helpful

My husband and I stayed here after a concert at Nationals Park You can’t beat the location if that’s your destination, BTW We’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in the Hilton group over the years, and this is easily the nicest Hampton Inn we’ve ever visited

The room was beautiful, and very comfotable and clean The use of space is smart and interesting We had tons of towels, and plenty of super hot water The staff was great– we were able to check in early despite the intense rush Breakfast was pretty standard for Hampton Inn offerings, but it was well done, with plenty of gluten free options for me Obviously the hotel is working with space constraints when it comes to parking and seating in the lobby for breakfast– but it’s in the middle of the city, what can you expect? We were able to find on street parking directly across the street from the lobby, and it ended up being more affordable than valet service All in all, this was an excellent experience and we enjoyed it very much

Serene Says

Better than I expected Rooms were spacious and clean Get a room with the stadium view

Excellent views! Quiet atmosphere and cozy feel Staff was all friendly and welcomingBreakfast was average, plentiful Parking was $55/night plus tax with valet only There’s a lot right across the street that was MUCH cheaper and very accessible Use it! Pic of the parking lot from my floor is attached to this review The rooftop bar and grille were only worth visiting if you want to take in the nice views and chill atmosphere The food was HORRIBLE It was like eating microwaved elementary school lunchables! The drinks were extremely watered down There are plenty of restaurants right next to the hotel to eat at Don’t waste your time or money there The restaurant is the sole reason I gave this location 4 stars

Eugene Mosley

This place is a wonderful location The Customer Service at the Front Desk were so Kind & Helpful Especially Neutral & the other Lady that was working doing my check in & out! I apologize for not remembering her Name🤯

So Caring & HelpfulThe Guy who was the Sunday morning as I checked out was a 3 out of 10 He’s disposition was very unprofessional! I asked about retrieving our cars from valet and his tone was as if I didn’t understand what he was saying I didn’t like him and hope to never have to deal again at any Hilton property! Thanks again Hilton for an Amazing Stay💎

Keejoo Park

This place was the excellent choice for us from the beginning to the endI called to ask some questions prior to book the room and the response was concise with all the answers We were impressed and booked the hotel

Upon arrival, it was smooth to check in and it was quick to check in Very convenient from parking to lobby to room as wellI drove pickup truck and the parking was easy for me I was again lucky to find a spot close the elevatorStaffs checked to see if there was anything hotel can help and provide The frequency was after arrival and a day later I requested couple of times and the response was quick and accurateWe rushed to find dinner place on the first night and there were so many restaurants with excellent foodsWe tried four places during our stay and all of them were fantasticNo doubt I will visit the wharf area and stay here again

This is typically my go-to hotel when I stay in Washington DC on business All in all it was a good stay The front desk staff is attentive and friendly

The property is kept immaculately clean Great location I usually book a suite However, upon arrival my suite wasn’t ready until two hours after checkin time which was 3:00pm I had to follow up a couple of times and no one seemed to be able to tell me when the suite would be ready It put me two hours behind schedule for a business meeting Due to that, I had to postpone my meeting to the next day In addition, the suite was located directly above a pub that plays really loud music from about 7pm to 12pm I realize this is beyond their control, but I did not get a good night’s sleep The TV in the living room also didn’t seem to work using the remote Eventually, I had to downgrade to a much smaller room but still paid the price of a suite which is disconcerting For those businesses travelers looking for a good night sleep I would not recommend staying on the side of the hotel located above the pub unless you can sleep through a five hour drum set

Kelli Grant

LOCATION! I will preface this by saying I’m more of a Mandarin Oriental girl, however -this hotel was clean and the staff was very kind, professional and helpful You can’t beat the location! Stayed 1 night here on business Note that when arriving, you’ll go down an alley and then up and elevator to the hotel

I had a waterfront room which may have been classified as a “suite” Not really a suite but it was a good room The rooftop bar area was awesome Breakfast was really good, the staff was very nice! Two of the ladies gave me great insight and information about the area and what I should see I love talking with them The night I arrived, the bar didn’t have many items on the menu -both food or drink, the draft beer thing was broken but that bartender sure was nice Older gentleman and was fun to talk to Beautiful views and great for walking around the wharf! The room rate seemed high for what it is but it might be because it’s on the water Just do not expect a luxury hotel It’s clean, basic and good for a place to sleep I was most impressed by the service!! Everyone was so kind and professional

Absolutely beautiful place All the staff were very friendly and hospitable We were treated very well

I love that your car is locked secure in the garage every night Check out time is NOT at the crack of dawnthe only disappointment was the beautiful pool was closedThe bathroom tile was beautiful and clean Beds were comfy and very cleanLocation, I gave 4 stars only because it was a little bit of a walk to get to the museums But also, it was a nicer quiet area, right across the street from the beautiful Martin Luther Church

Mon L

I am staying here currently with my family I can’t say enough about the warm, friendly front desk staff They treat customers with respect and kindness, and went above and beyond to get us a room suitable for our party

The pool and all the facilities are clean, well cared for and comfortable This hotel is a little bit dated in some parts, but the warm and welcoming vibe makes it worth it Excellent value and I just want to say thanks to the amazing staff who work here

Monica Hasbun

Everything was excellent: the location, the service and the cleanliness I want to thank the front desk staff Treasure, Maya, Joy, Tenisha and Evelyn They were all very pleasant and helpful

I was also very pleased with the thoroughness of the housekeeping staff They did a great job cleaning my room meticulously every day The hotel is very nice, regardless of whether it is updated or some rooms are small, which were comments I read from other reviews The rooms are equipped with a small fridge and a coffee maker, and the coffee provided (from Nicaragua) was delicious I also liked the pizza at the patio restaurant by the pool I ordered half vegetarian and half sausage/pepperoni It is lovely to sit there on a nice day Many of the guests are out in the pool area at all times of day I highly recommend this hotel

Beautiful hotel Tradition and old Washington charm surround you Next to the White House

Built in 1918 there are so many beautiful detailsDon’t miss the Famous round robin barCheck in with seamless and the customer service was exceptional The rooms are spotless and much of the staff has been here for generations I highly recommend this hotel

Staying at the Willard Hotel is a sublime experience! This is my second time (08/22) staying here The last time was back in 07/08 Nevertheless, the Willard’s standards of excellence have not slipped! We stayed in a standard room which was clean and well-stocked with Nespresso coffees and tees

The bed was firm yet comfortable The linens and pillows were soft, and there were plenty of deluxe towelsThe magnificent lobby and first level are filled with plenty of history The hotel even has its own museum The historical Round Robin bar still serves excellent cocktails Don’t forget to look up at the gold leaf ceiling lobby to find your state’s emblem Very impressive to see all 50 states represented! We will certainly stay at The Willard when we return to Washington You are centrally located to all major sites and are 1,500 feet from The White House

I’ve been coming here for a very long time If you stay for a few nights you definitely won’t be let downWe spent the night here before the Easter egg roll at the white house It was exceptional Easy to get in everything was right up front You do pay for a premium but due to the location it was well worth it The room was clean and nice We had the high tea and that was quite the experience If you go during the Cherry blossom festival we have the option of drinking tea with the Cherry blossom cuttings and that was quite the experience I would highly recommend this We only had pastries and coffee from the cafe and they were good It is a five-star hotel

Front desk, valet was great Location was good and the hotel was aesthetically pleasing The other reviews mentions the housekeeping duties being less than satisfactory and their right

I requested towels and toiletries and they never came I requested the room to be cleaned while me and my family was out and it was never done I watched the staff check rooms for room service (I happened to return while they were cleaning) and they never stepped foot inside Then I had to chase them down for those extra towels If it weren’t for that , this place would have 5 stars

This is the worst Hilton that I have stayed at My husband and I called our third party booking company and this Hilton to let them know that we would be checking in late as we had an overnight flight We were told that this was noted on our reservation and not to worry

When we arrived for check-in, we were “greeted” by rude front desk staff This person simply did not want to help us and told us he couldn’t find our reservation Made it seem like this was our fault Eventually, the reservation was found, but our request for a city view that was booked ahead of time was not metWe waited for two days despite calling twice to have our room cleaned The front desk said that they weren’t sure what happened; but that they “dropped the ball” Housecleaning was still cleaning and the front desk said they would check if they could come and clean our room; but then said that it was not possible and made us wait another dayWe requested cups or glasses to drink water in since our room had not been cleaned and no supplies had been replenished We waited 45 minutes and when we called the front desk were told, “we don’t provide glasses, but if it makes you feel better, we can” What kind of response is this? Plastic cups were eventually provided I have never seen such lousy guest serviceThe bedsheets slide off the mattress and there is no real duvet cover We are Hilton rewards members and were told that we would not get points We won’t be returning to this hotel

My family and I had a great stay here! The staff really made it an excellent trip Abdul at the entrance have us awesome directions, advice, and generally made us feel so welcome Abel in the restaurant went above and beyond to make my 1 year old daughter have a great dining experience

From helping with food allergy concerns to remembering to hide the salt and pepper shakers (toddlers lol), he did it all It made our trip really special and memorable

Overall a cute hotel in a good location, would consider staying here again if neededPros: location Easy walk to most restaurants and near public parking if you need to leave your car for a few days

Beautiful decor, hot water in the shower, modern design, and comfortable bedCons: rooms are very small with minimal workspace Sink area is separate from the shower and toilet There is a lounge or club on a high floor so you may encounter people coming and going to that

Leah Threlkeld

We’re only halfway through our stay… the rooms are pretty nice and clean However, for being a Marriott property (usually very family friendly) this place is 100% not good for kids We had a local friend join us after dinner for a casual drink by the fireplace and witnessed what can only be defined as debauchery

It was not late night by any means Prior to 11pm… a fight almost broke out, the police were called… one lady was so drunk she had her head down on a table and involuntarily vomited on the floor, repeatedly The manager was informed but didn’t seem to do much about the situation We wrapped up our drinks promptly and headed to our rooms Our local friend (who’s originally from NYC) said she had never seen anything like this at a hotel bar… Even if we hadn’t brought our kids, we would never stay here again What a mess

Laura Yasso

I stayed there with my family this past weekend and had a great time The hotel was clean and better located than I anticipated There were lots of great options for food in the area and only 20 minutes walking to the White House and mall

The big negative was the social club which was noisy and intrusive I had to wear noise-canceling headphones to sleep both nights Glad I had read the reviews beforehand and knew what to expect The front desk staff could have given me a better-located room because I asked to be on a floor far away from the club and in the end was right under it

The beds and pillows are super comfy It’s within walking distance of everything There’s a nice bar in the lobby The conference rooms were nice as well The food provided was really nice as well during our meals Overall great place to stay

I found the location too far from any of the main sites Way too far for me I also did not feel safe in the area where it is located

There are homeless tents very close by Some of the homeless were aggressive in approaching me I did not feel safe to leave the hotel after dark which affected my stay I will not stay there againThe hotel staff and restaurant/bar staff were very nice and helpful

There are so many great things about this hotel! For one, the location of the hotel is very convenient if you are visiting DC as a tourist! White House, Washington Monument, etc is less than half an hour away! Hotel is beautiful and well maintained

I would have given 5 stars, but I didn’t have the best experience customer service wise Checking in was smooth, but when asking questions regarding accommodations or correcting a charge issue my family and I were met with an attitude I recommend the hotel to others, but prepare to deal with that energy

Initially my mom and I stayed at the Thompson Hotel as a quick weekend getaway for my birthday, but it was a vacation for my mom as it was her first getaway since before the pandemic and her first time visiting DC She lived her best life! First off, I would like to thank the staff for being so gracious, kind and attentive during our stay I was allowed a late checkout for which I greatly appreciated

Our train home was scheduled later in the afternoon and after walking 20k steps yesterday making memories, I knew it’d be best that we sleep in I wish I could’ve stayed an extra night but I had to return home for an obligationThis hotel is BEAUTIFUL! It looks even better in person I sometimes have to visit DC for work and after staying at the Thompson hotel, this was the first time I thought “I’d come back” Our room was upgraded to a corner room which very spacious and clean The only complaint I have, although it could be the “new modern,” is that the shower is not fully enclosed I’ve stayed at a resort last summer with the same structured bathroom, so it could be that I’m not used to the new layout Continental breakfast is offered in the mornings The rooftop bar is very chill, however you have to take the elevator down to the lobby and then directly to the rooftop I didn’t get a chance to experience the restaurant but I’m sure I’ll do that my next visit 😉 There’s also multiple restaurants nearby The metro is less than a 10min walk away and it runs every 20min (I work/commute in NY so for those that understand, in case you miss your train by 1min… just pause and be patient lol) This hotel is also dog friendly and is near a dog park I have a dog-phew now, so I might bring him during my next stay

Joan Dineen

A fresh and stylish hotel, quite nice for the price Hyatt has really tried to introduce a young, high-design feeling here Rooms are of adequate size and function well

Rooftop bar was closed when we were there and I am not sure what other amenities were available A little under-staffed, reception often seemed to have long lines for check in and out My star-rating is based on value for the price and general ambiance

B Daisy

Stayed here for four nights It’s a nice, small, clean hotel The rooms are well designed and the location was convenient

They have complimentary coffee and pastries to grab for breakfast, which was nice The quality of the sheets and towels could have been much, much better They don’t provide daily housekeeping so you have to request for it the day before We asked for having our room cleaned three times, but only got housekeeping on day one No housekeeping on the second day On the third day, they woke us up by knocking at the door at 7 am, handing us a bunch of towels There was no other form of housekeeping on that day either I liked the rooms and the location, but I will not be going back because of the rude behavior

Stayed this weekend and this is a fabulous hotel The service, the location the people who work there really made my stay amazing And when I needed an extra night because of a car issue they easily and quickly accommodated me and price matched to a nearby hotel I was going to check into after I had already checked out of their hotel

The Decor was amazing, the design I mean it all was great and made my Instagram very popular for the weekend Definitely will get my business again and would recommend

Katie Roth

We were charged $31 a night for amenity fees, we never used any of them This was not explained until we checked out Keurig in the room did not work, was also told the ‘free’ water in the room was included in the amenity fees

There was also a grease stain on one set of sheets and I found a couple of small blood stains on mine The staff was wonderful But would not stay again, I don’t appreciate hidden ‘amenity fees’ when they are something I did not even use

What a wonderful hotel! I was in DC for a work trip and decided to stay an extra night My first 4 star hotel, the room was like a staying in a basement and I couldn’t stand another night My extra night was at my own expense so I wanted to enjoy it

Wow did I ever make a great choice! What a difference! Hotel Zena, bright, modern, friendly staff well worth schlepping the 4 blocks with my bag!

Stunning hotel from the ground up The lobby was gorgeous and everything sparkled The rooms are nicely sized with standard amenities

The rooms also face away from the streets, so there is much less city noise to deal with while still letting in plenty of sunshine Every staff member I encountered was friendly and very helpful I would absolutely plan to stay here again in the future!

Great place to stay in the heart of the city Almost everything is a ten to twenty minute walk If you need to go further, Union Station is just around the block

The rooms are clean, the lobby is well kept, and staff are very friendly One of the key issues I find in hotel rooms is they have the AC blowing at the head of the bed NOT here, it’s around the corner providing a very comfortable environment and I don’t wake up with a stuffed head

My wife and I spent these last two weekends of March visiting DC for the Cherry Blossoms and staying at the Hilton Washington DC made our stay all the more perfect We love the luxurious entrance to the hotel and as a photographer I’m a big fan of the monument photos in the hallways before entering your room The elevators are fast, there is a nice long easy ramp for wheelchair access and luggage cart transportation

The rooms are extra spacious and the beds are really comfortable Make sure to try to get a room on the western side of the hotel above the entrance as that will most likely be your best view of the Capitol Building I also love that once you walk right out of the entrance, you’re right in front of the United States Capitol Building with easy access to the National Mall The restaurants downstairs are super convenient and delicious at the same time The restaurant can be busy but you can also order your food and bring it back to your room if you don’t want to wait for a table We did this mostly because my wife still has covid concerns about eating in rooms with other people You are never left waiting too long for an elevator as there are three of them and are super fast at getting downstairs Make sure to face out when riding in the elevator for a cool view of the lobby as you go up to your room I fell in love with the soap in the shower so much that we now use it at home I also love the water pressure from the shower Nice and strong This hotel has become our new home when visiting Washington DC and look forward to more stays in the future

The hotel was a great place to stay The rooms were spacious and well laid out The front desk stay was pleasant and efficient

The valets were prompt as well when I needed to retrieve my vehicle Overall I thought the combination of location, amenities and room comfort was greatMy only negatives involved the hotel’s restaurant It took 10 minutes for the waiter to come take my order despite it not being busy I ordered a burger, fries and lemonade When the food arrived the hamburger bun was half torn and the fries were cold Also, I still had not received my lemonade The runner told the bartender about my drink and later my waiter came to check on me I asked where was the lemonade and he looked confused The waiter returned 5 minutes later to ask if I was enjoying my meal and I told him I’d enjoy it more with the drink I ordered So after my meal was done I finally got my beverageI received similar bad service for brunch I was seated promptly but waitress was missing When she did arrive, I had no qr code to view the menu When she returned with menu, she said hopefully kitchen will take it since brunch was technically over She did apologize for forgetting about my table The bacon was limp and undercooked and raisin brioche was missing the syrup Thus, I had 2 meals and 2 bad service experiences at the restaurant I recommend management address this with some training for their staff

My family and I had a great stay at the Canopy Our room was well-appointed and comfortable We had a lovely view of the river and the flowering cherry trees along the shore of the golf course located across the river

One aspect of the room that I really liked, especially after a long day walking around the city, was the shower We had just spent four days in NYC in a cramped hotel room with a bathroom that was slightly bigger than an airplane bathroom The bathroom and shower at the Canopy were palatial in comparison and I especially appreciated the relaxing rainfall shower after a long day walking around the city The location of the hotel can’t be beat There are many great restaurants to choose from just a few steps from the hotel and it’s an easy walk to the Tidal Basin and National Mall If you don’t feel like walking, you can hop on the free (FREE!!!) Southwest DC Shuttle bus less than block from the hotel at the CVS on Maine Street Staff at the hotel was excellent We were checked in by Diana and she stayed in contact by text throughout our stay The restaurant on site is a great option for breakfast and dinner I look forward to staying that The Canopy at The Wharf on my next visit to DC

This was my second time staying at this location in the past twelve month and the experience was nothing short of exceptional From the time I called to confirm my arrival time until the point at which I checked out, I felt both valued and welcomed The hotel staff went above and beyond my expectations

As soon as I checked in, I was greeted with a friendly text to make sure my process had gone smoothly and to see if I needed anything I enjoyed cocktails and snacks at the rooftop lounge and breakfast at the hotel restaurant The location is perfectly located on The Wharf also The only thing I noticed is that I was charged for WiFi I assumed my membership status covered that charge, however maybe I’m mistaken Nonetheless, I highly recommend The Canopy by Hilton on The Wharf and would absolutely stay again

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking a resort This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is one of my favorites in the area

I’ve been staying here for a very long time If you stay for a few nights you definitely won’t regret itConvenient location, fairly close to the Smithsonian museums and national mallThe 2 queen bed (and sofa bed) room is perfect for families Service is fast and friendlyBreakfast is a bit basic but is included in your room fee which is a major plusMost of the unique amenities are closed in the cooler seasons and parking is a little pricey ($50/day) but otherwise it is a well equipped hotel

Ryan Yturriaga

Pros: Great clean rooms, access to the national mall, relatively a good part of the neighborhood Room service everyday The swimming pool is a little small for the building, and no matter how hot it gets (summer) the water is ice-cold

The room service staff are friendly and very accommodatingCons: (why the 2 stars) – it a hit or miss with the staffing Their breakfast times are 6AM-9AM so really short compared to other chain hotels If you are from the west coast, chances are you will miss the breakfast Here’s the kicker, the waitress literally swipe the food in front of us at 0905AM – instead of closing off the section, we are left just scrambling to get whatever we can get thanks to that very admirable waitress (05-31-2022 – mornings) It left a really bad taste for the 4 people left on the line without consideration at allI save about $5000 a night from Embassy Suites, but this kind of service is not worth it Consider somewhere else

The staff is the most UNFRIENDLY I have ever experienced at a hotel We booked and prepaid for 3 nights through a 3rd party and I called the hotel the day before we were to check in to verify we were confirmed with our room as were to drive 6+ hours the following day It took 2 people on the phone and 45 minutes to “find” my reservation in their system even though we had prepaid for the room in order to get a cheaper rate

Finally they found it and said I was good to go Great We arrive the next day to check in and AGAIN, they cannot find my reservation It took 2 people and ANOTHER 45 minutes to “find” our reservation in their system They were incredibly unfriendly about it too Almost like they were waiting for us to get fed up and leave Finally, magically, it appeared and we’re good to go again With 1 night left in our stay we get a phone call from the front desk saying that we were supposed to only stay 2 nights We inform them, no, we paid for 3 nights It says right here on our confirmation and when we checked in we confirmed it was 3 nights They threatened to call the police on us because we told them we would not check out early They put my husband on hold and never came back on So in the meantime, I called the 3rd party company we booked it through and asked them to contact the hotel and confirm that yes, indeed, we paid for 3 nights My husband got tired of sitting on hold and went downstairs to the front desk to confront them in person By the time he got down there it was all “magically” fixed No apology No accommodation, nothing SO RUDE I’m being gracious in giving them 1 star but only because the room itself was fine and the free breakfast was good But we will never stay here again I have never had a worse experience with a hotel

Furnished well and nice bed Shower was average Room was clean and seemed remodeled within last 5 years

We had two rooms both missing different things They have 2 elevators that requires a key card to operate (no signs about needing a key card though), but one elevator is reserved for staff So if the “staff” elevator shows up first, after much frustration to figure it out, press the down button and hope the other elevator arrives before the “staff” one resets Funny thing was outside of the ground floor, any elevator would take you down Ridiculous I have never seen that before Also we could not take the steps, the doors to each floor is locked I could maybe understand that for security, but seems like a major safety hazard if there is a fire and the ground floor is blocked Also room was not ready until after 5pm on check-in

The hotel itself is new and looks nice, and it’s in a fantastic location right by Union Market, but there were a few issues The service from the employees felt like from an old/rundown hotel, not a nice new one The person working the front desk when we checked in was wearing sweats, which just seemed really out of place

The website said parking was an additional $25 per night, but when we checked in we were told it’s $35/night Our room reeked of weed when we walked in There’s a lot of construction around, which didn’t bother us, but might be a problem for some people The breakfast was decent and the lobby stays stocked with coffee, tea, and citrus infused water

I am giving a 5 because I have given lesser places a 5 It is very luxurious and the staff is superbly courteous without being stuffy It was immaculate

We had a king deluxe and the bathroom was amazing Linens were luxurious The food was delicious and the pig roast on Thursday night at $32/plate was a bargain They would box up what you could not eat and let you take it with you I did not use the spa or pool areas The only criticism I have is that there was no little store in which you could pick up drinks or snacks to have in your room There was a refrigerator which housed some drinks/snacks before but they had been removed So, in the evening, your only option was room service and to get a cup of coffee and a few cookies took close to an hourplus a tip There is no place within walking distance to pick up such items either If you are used to those things in the evening or have small children, bring it with you

First time staying here and definitely won’t be my last time The service was like no other! SUPERB! I can’t believe their is still service like this out there Every single employee we ran into was amazing

I’m blown by the service The rooms are very nice and clean The hotel itself is very classy and comfortable The food surpasses my expectations for hotel food and my kids loves their breakfastThe location was perfect because it was close to everything, but far enough from the crowd to keep the atmosphere intimate The hotel is very kid friendly as well being that it’s an upscale hotel, so don’t be intimidated if you have kids and would like to stay here
