Travelers beware if you’re booking for the next few weeks We were not informed that there would be massive construction going on while we stayed The hotel knew we were going to be booking a red eye flight in and would be getting in early Saturday morning and they said nothing of the construction

When we arrived it was impossible to sleep due to the hotel construction Jack hammering to the left, right, above, and below us There would have been no point in switching rooms The construction was happening throughout the hotel We were greeted with saw dust and construction Mats down everywhere Our bathtub was falling apart and the water pressure sucked The staff was unfriendly and appeared more interested in socializing with themselves than helping guests that were clearly from out of town Save yourself the money and book at a holiday inn for a hundred dollars less/per night In fact You may even have a more pleasant stay overallAlso the hotels comments in other peoples reviews demonstrate their complete and utter lack of care for their guests A discount should have been offered for the stay They should have sent out notification emails to all parties booking during their construction period But instead they overlooked all of that for a profit And are insisting in the comments “we hope you come back to see the finished product” What a joke Why would you come back to see the product when you were ripped off during your stay due to their renovations? I will forever be telling people to never book from this hotel again And they should have the decency to heavily discount their rates during construction or shut for the remainder of their renovation But charging above average rates for the worst sleeping conditions you can imagine is insane*****Update******After posting this review I received a new bill with a discount I’m pleased that they made the situation right and hope in the future they will be more transparent with their guests before booking

Surprise! Very loud construction above our bed started at 9am

this is not a 4 star hotel tub was peeling we could feel springs in the bed pillows were flat no curtains only sheers horrible experience!!! Because we made our hotel reservation without our Hilton Honors plan, the hotel did not honor our complaints Would not recommend this hotel ever!

BEWARE OF CONSTRUCTION!!! We stayed there a month ago for a wedding Bride and family were surprised that hotel was under construction and the room block was effected Some communication to guests would’ve been nice and a great warning to at least let us know what to expect

I would never stay at a hotel for that price for the quality eitherThe dust from the construction causes health issues to everyone in my family, the beds were uncomfortable, and the walls were super thin

It’s too bad this hotel overlooks a few very elementary details because it could easily be a great hotel As it is, I would rate it a high 2-star rather than a 3-star The positives:It seems clean, it has a very comfortable bed, it has a nice little kitchenette area, it has a nice big flat screen television, the bathroom is comfortable and the luggage stand is nice and big to accommodate 2 suitcases

The negatives:The lobby looks shabby, the room doors are in crucial need of repainting (a very bad presentation that doesn’t give you confidence about the room you’re about to sleep in), the side of the bed was very scratched and peeling and was the first thing we noticed when entering the room If these few things were addressed, which could easily be done, the hotel would be so much better and worthy of its 3 stars We would not stay again unless the management were to address these elementary things that any hotel management should know to keep up without having it pointed out to them by guests

Mike Towle

Terrible experience Other than proximity to the beach there is no reason to stay here We stayed here five days they never cleaned our room or brought us fresh towels

There is a small sign in the bathroom that says you need to schedule a cleaning but when you call you learn it needs to be scheduled 24 hours in advance They simply don’t want to clean a room until someone checks out to save cleaning staff expenses This is just a cheap way to treat customers This place charges double what some of the area hotels do You expect better than this And it’s a Hilton property, which makes it seem like the Hilton name means nothing I can’t recommend this place Management may be good at cutting costs but as a customer you feel tricked and misled Stay someplace else

JG Stan

First the great location is excellent

within walking distance to the beach, grocery store, restaurants and other attractions Now that said the hotel could use some updating and to their credit I think I saw some work to that end I realize that in an area like this there is never really a down time to do major renovations but I do expect more from a Hampton Inn We will give them the benefit of the doubt considering we had an overall good stay and the room was very clean upon our arrival

I came to celebrate my birthday at this lovely hotel! The staff is so friendly, attentive, and helpful Our room was clean and stocked which was so comforting after our 8 hour driveThey are pet friendly and welcomed my pet with open arms, treats, and water! The gym was a nice amenity that we utilized

The fresh individually wrapped towels are an awesome touch! Our Housekeeper was so sweet, hard working and kind She made sure we had everything we needed dailyThe beach is just steps away and they provide towels upon request!I recommend getting the breakfast includedI have to agree the plumbing is somewhat loud and the elevators are slow but not a major deal breaker for us We loved our stay here! Thanks so much for everything

My wife and I have been staying here for years This place feels like home away from home I am a cancer transplant patient who requires a lot of care with constant trips to Mayo Clinic

The staff are so welcoming and amazing They truly go above and beyond from the front of the hotel, to the kitchen, to the cleaning staff, and management in all aspects they really show they care The hotel is really clean and it is very obvious they care about keeping it that way I have to be so very careful as a transplant patient and I can tell you I feel very safe at this hotel Not to mention that every room here is oceanfront view with balcony It is such a blessing to be able to have this soothing healing view with the pain I feel through treatments sometimes Our family thanks everyone of them and are very grateful for the last couple of years and years to come as I fight through this cancer Thank you for allowing our family to feel like home away from home 🙂

Considering this hotel has beachfront views, the prices are fantastic For some FL beach perspective, I recently paid in the $500/night range on Daytona Beach, and in the $900/night range Miami BeachThe hotel offers good amenities – a gym, business center, heated pool and hot tub

Staff were very nice, and the room was cleanThere were only 3 drawbacks Firstly, parking is tight – especially if you have a larger vehicle It seems there are not enough spaces in the lot for a full hotel Secondly, our TV had constant issues, and wouldn’t work properly Unfortunate, but not detrimental Thirdly, there was an incident – probably just an honest mistake, but it was an incident nonetheless At 9:25am on the morning of checkout, I was abruptly awoken by the house keepers coming into my room – even though checkout isn’t until 11, and there was “Do Not Disturb” sign on the doorEven so, I would consider staying at this hotel again

I called Front desk night beforeMe: Can I order breakfast for pick up?Front desk: Absolutely, just call us tomorrow and we will relay it to the restaurantMe: great, thanks

—–The next morning—–Me: I’d like to place an order for pick upFront desk: unfortunately, that’s not possible You have to place the order yourself and there’s no way for us to communicate with the restaurantPlease educate your staff about this process!

Jeffrey Lewitsky

Very conveniently located of I95 and not far from shops and restaurants (even walking distance) The front desk worker who checked us in in the evening was very nice and so were both the evening and morning Bistro workers The lobby is expansive and the pool area large and very attractive

The rooms also were large and there was plenty of parking The 24 hour gym was a good size too

Josh

Now

I won’t post the photo because I’ve had some time to cool off but, the lady playing on her phone behind the desk completely ignoring everyone who came in was not a good start I didn’t say anything but I did sit there for a good 20 mins before she decided to turn off Judge Judy and check me in The hotel full of baby Turkish wedding guests running around until 2 am wasn’t the hotels fault but still wasn’t the most pleasant experience Otherwise, nice facility and friendly staff (except 1)

The attendant was friendly and on point The bar/restaurant area was nice but we didn’t eat or drink on this stay nor did we use the pool area but it looked nice as well as did the grounds The issues were the smell in the hallways, and the room was very dated

Our shower had been badly cracked (24″ or more) and a very sloppy silicone patch was applied The shower pan was also very weak and felt as if it were ready to fall through I can definitely see why the halls have a funky smell The mattress springs could be felt when getting in and out of bed and my wife’s back bothered her all day after sleeping on it I would pass this location and go to the one at Jax beach We loved our stay there a few months ago

josh

Would have given more stars but I want to be very clear about this

THE BEDS ARE HARD AS A ROCK Came into town for a couple days for a medical issues after sleeping on this bed we have decided to cancel our stay and head home In more pain then before we came If you want to sleep on a brick then this is the perfect placeEverything else was clean and fine

Matthew Buchanan

Pros:- Lobby and common areas maintained- Staff friendly- Breakfast was good valueCons:- Rooms and interior corridors were extremely dated and the room smelled strongly of a harsh cleaning chemical For $170 a night I expect more out of a Marriott property

We recently took a short boat ride to comachee harbor and stayed 2 nights at the inn We stayed in room 12 The room was very nice

We enjoyed the two different levels between the bed(lower level) and couch/mini kitchen The kitchen had a nice wine refrigerator, small sink, and large microwave The designer definitely had boaters in mind as everything you needed for happy hour was there for your use Cutting board/tray, tumbler, etc The pillows were our only issue, too soft and fluffy for us But the bed was comfortable overall It seemed like the room was recently redone and it was done well (Please put something under the chairs on the deck to make them slide easier to get in and out )

Patricia Wingfield

We stayed in Suite 25 Very large and would be comfortable for 6 people Nice view of the Vilano Bridge and Bay area

Short walk thru the parking lot for breakfast, lunch and dinner It’s on the second floor and our senior dog had a little problem with the stairs but we managed The only thing that we had a problem with was the screen room It could use a deep cleaning due to some black mold, but we would stay here again

Mike L (MVL)

So the location was awesome, and the Beach was great too But the room as a whole had some issues The pillows were horrible, I think there was a mold problem in our unit

I have a sever mold allergy And I had to triple dose antihistamine to be able to get a few hours of sleep before I woke up gagging, unable to breath Also the WiFi is unusable Like good luck unwinding on the porch with your laptop, or getting a little work done cause you arnt getting any cell or WiFi signal The shower was pretty awesome though Over all I don’t think the room is really worth the price

Lynn Tjeerdsma

We stayed at one of their ocean-front cottages with a deck facing the ocean Great view of the ocean and we enjoyed it for every morning coffee Breakfast was delivered every morning in an insulated basket and contained an excellent assortment of fruit, yogurt and a hot entree that we heated in the microwave

A great perk is the free parking in a downtown lot and happy hour at their downtown location which made it easy to enjoy both the beach and downtown Great customer service and pleasant people to deal with Would definitely stay there again

Rachael

I use reviews in everything I do So a few things I came across that may help someone else out Room was clean, staff was very nice

Just steps from the beach Me and my husband stayed for Christmas We stayed in The Sandpiper it was very cute and reminded us of being in a cabin There is a Publix at the corner, circle K across the street The pizza place in the Publix plaza is great They bring breakfast if you desire each morning we received an apple, a banana, a yogurt, an orange juice along with a different item that can be warmed up in the microwave I’d give it a 3 star nothing special Nice gesture but just okay They give you a parking pass to park in a lot for free during your stay in downtown which is nice The bed is very comfortable but There are definitely some things that could be addressed There is absolutely no light on the path from your parking spot to your room door (Which is around the back of the building ) Be very careful It is pitch black There are several stray cats that run around so if you’re allergic just be aware They are very friendly, but you have to be careful one tried to come into our room don’t leave your door open at all Who ever painted recently dripped blue paint all over the pavers as well as the drapes on the door and just left it This unit is on the bottom of a three room house There is no sound proofing so the people In the room above you actually shake the light fixtures and you can literally hear them talking it sounds like they are going to come right through the ceiling it is so loud good luck if they have kids lol sound like a stampede above you For the cost of the room we probably would not stay again just because you can get something way nicer for the price I guess it’s all about location and people want to be right on the beach I get it but I live in Florida on the beach so for me the negatives outweigh the positives

Michael Sullivan

I stayed at this hotel May 7-10 while in town for a college graduation The entire staff was professional, courteous and friendly Brandon at the front desk was extremely helpful when I needed to switch rooms due to a plumbing issue and Amanda at the bar made the best Manhattan I have ever had

My stay included a free buffet breakfast which was excellent each morning and our server Ringo provided excellent service The pool was clean and refreshing, the shuttle to Saint Augustine was convenient and the bar was comfortable, on point and reasonably priced The rooms need to be updated The bathrooms in the rooms lacked exhaust fans and the toilets in both of the rooms I stayed in were old and needed to be replaced

Kelly Fodiman

We were pleasantly surprised! The staff was incredibly friendly at the front desk, wide open spaces, spacious room, very clean and comfortable The food and atmosphere was great in the lounge area, breakfast buffet was delicious, gym looked very nice and it was fun eating at caddy shack just 100 steps away! We really enjoyed the whole experience but having a warm, kind and friendly staff made our trip even better!! Thank you 😊

Madison Vick

For a four star hotel I was expecting it to be much nicer The area, and lobby were very neat, but the rooms were very dated They were all full beds, the air didn’t work, no microwaves in the room, no fan in the bathroom, and when I came into the bathroom there were little white facial hairs on the counter around the sink

The rooms just really need some updating

Far exceeded expectations! We have traveled to St Augustine a few times and this was the best experience we had!!We arrived very late from our travels and Roseanne was lovely and very accommodating in helping us get into the property and our rooms The parking is located on site and it is a very secure property

The home is so beautifully maintained Our room was clean and the sheets were so comfortable We loved the dual shower in the bathroom and the robes were such a nice touch We had wonderful sleep! In the morning, we were served the loveliest breakfast and enjoyed conversation with the other guests I highly recommend the Centennial House with Roseanne and her team We will definitely be staying here every time we visit St Augustine from now on!

Kiara Cortes

We had an AMAZING stay at the Centennial House! Rosanna and her wonderful team of ladies were so hospitable and kind We loved having breakfast in the morning, everything was delicious! Rosanna made this delicious Orange Cake (thank you again for the recipe!) When you’re there, you feel like family with everyone

The location is super close to the stores and is within walking distance of many places (Ripley’s, Castillo de San Marcos, and Museums) The parking garage is also close by, so we were confident in knowing that we had somewhere to park our car at the end of the day when we came back from the beach The house is super clean, the bed was so comfy, and the shower felt like a spa We can’t wait to come back!

Nette Nelson

My husband surprised me with a night in St Augustine at The Centennial House Bed and Breakfast! We arrived early but were still taken to our beautiful Victorian Room The location is excellent and right in the middle of everything

The Indigo had a great location for us The room was beautiful with plenty of space The shower was wonderful, very large

The beds were comfortable We really enjoyed spending time out on the patio overlooking the water We will definitely stay here whenever we are in the area My only negative is that my room key stopped working 3x during my stay and I had to go down to front desk to get it fixed But, the staff is so friendly that I would not take away a star for the inconvenience

Brooke Simpson

The room and bathroom were super clean and very spacious I loved the mid-century modern inspired decor The nearby lake is a beautiful backdrop for the hotel

It’s in a central location near the highway, shops, and restaurants, but is very peaceful and quiet The lobby has a really nice bar as well We would definitely stay here again when in the Jacksonville area The only cons were the bed was a little too firm for my personal preference and breakfast isn’t included

Vernetta Liner

The hotel is beautiful! The service was good When you walk in the first thing I noticed was that the hotel pic online was a true representation of the hotel Anyways, the room was beautifully kept with an exception of the bathroom shower

The walls and floor in the shower were supposed to be white but there was mildew all over the grout on some of the walls and on the floor I always wear shower shoes when I take a shower anyplace that is not home I am glad that is my habit because I would’ve requested a room with cleaner showers, or a refund and went somewhere else You would think that such a prestigious place would pay a little more to ensure the showers were cleaned better Any shower mildew remover would’ve worked Everything else was on point Changed it to 4 star because it was a very nice hotel with a great ambiance with an exception of what I stated

Don’t forget to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your room This web site will compare hundreds of hotel sites and usually will have rooms much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This hotel is one of the highest rated in this area

I’ve been staying here for a long time If you decide to stay here you for sure won’t regret itStaff was so nice and the facility was so clean The workout room was great – only wish that the workout machines were connected to wifi Sorry to have missed the heated salt water pool – didn’t have enough time Love the complementary water bottles at the front desk – traveling can make me so thirstyAloft rooms are European minimalistic I’d say Clean lines and prudent use of space – a couch below TV screen and in between tables, combined closet and sink space open to bath and toilet area, which can be closed off with a pocket door – can seem a bit tight but it’s perfectly fine

N B

I loved this hotel and will definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Jacksonville First, the pet friendly policy is very nice and we loved being able to bring our dog with us for no extra charge The king sized bed was very comfortable with soft white sheets and pillows

Absolutely loved the full feature smart TV that allowed us to stream our favorite netflix shows when relaxing in our roomThe location was wonderful with many restaurants near by A Starbucks was also in the same plaza which was very convenient My stay was also very quietMy only complaint is the way the bathroom shower is designed, it has a deep slant for the drain so it can be a bit dangerous when wet I did almost slip when getting in but there is a rail in the shower so just be careful Otherwise great hotel!

Vincent Trabucco

Aloft is truly a pleasure to stay! The staff is extremely polite (Mike) was so helpful when I wasn’t feeling well and made sure I had everything I needed one night, truly went above and beyond The decor gives you that modern upscale feel, room was very spacious and extremely clean But the best part is the amazing bar/lounge with the sweetest bartender (Cam) who can whip up the best cocktails and shots, not to mention her infamous honey pepperoni pizza! She embodies what aloft is all about, making you feel at home away from home! If you’re ever in Jax and looking to make the most out of your stay don’t hesitate to choose Aloft

Best Holiday Inn Express we have ever stayed at (have stayed at 20+) the staff was all extremely friendly and welcoming They went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay The gentleman running the continental breakfast was amazing at making sure everything was perfect including getting some snacks for us to give the kids later

Everyone from the cleaning crew to the front desk made our stay wonderful! It was nice to have a room with regular floors not the carpet that has been in every holiday inn I have ever stayed at Every room has a balcony Our balcony had a couple of chairs and an end table The stay was perfect!!

I’ve got to shout out Katie at the front desk who was exceptional at making us feel welcomed and did an excellent job during her shift going above and beyond in answering questions and being helpful She’s a great reflection on the hotelAs for our stay we were overall very pleased

If you’re expecting the Ritz Carlton level furnishings and ambiance you may be disappointed, but for us it was perfect We really enjoyed the beach access right across from the hotel and the views were great The little things like the popcorn and cookies for guests were duly noted as well Love that the place was pet friendly additionally The $50 a day per pet seemed a little steep to be honest but overall an excellent stay!

The hotel staff was all very friendly throughout our stay We paid for breakfast with our room and it had many options to choose from and was delicious Our room was clean, modern, and comfortable

We didn’t use the pool as we only stayed one night but it seemed clean and well attended Loved that we were within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants without being in the middle of the loud crowds and traffic Would definitely stay again

My name is Shayla and my husband and I had an amazing reception here From booking the reception hall and planning everything through Lane and Sarah, to getting my menu and food right from the kitchen staff, the cook Wilfredo had my guest complimenting the food and looking for seconds, Johnathan had the tables and everything set up so nicely , once we added the finishing touches it looked amazing!!! Jacob was my hype man!!! I lovvveeeddd his energy during our reception and was very professional with all the guest The bartender(I didn’t get his name) he was great as well!!! Very pleasant!!! If I didn’t mention a name it’s because I didn’t get it or forget

my apologies…However, the whole experience from the reception, the stay, the breakfast, and just everything was WONDERFUL!!!! ANYONE that had any type of affiliation with us during any part of our experience we want to say that we appreciate you ALL and THANK YOU ALL!!!!

Attended an after wedding brunch here and the lobby area is really nice and staff are friendly The room the brunch was in was probably a conference room but it was nice that there were private restrooms for the event The food was delicious and there was a pastry in particular that I couldn’t stop eating

Definitely considering staying at this hotel when I’m staying in the area again since we stop by frequently

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking your hotel They compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rates much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area

I have been staying here for a long time If you stay for a few days you definitely won’t be let downWe stayed one night at the hotel We have stayed in many hotels much more expensive and not had as pleasant an experience and great nights sleep We recently bought a very expensive mattress and their mattress was even more comfortable The room was very clean, Newly renovated, and the hotel is very quiet The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful We requested a microwave it was delivered within five minutes I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel The breakfast was not included but they had a very extensive continental breakfast for seven dollars or a full breakfast buffet for $15 for adults It is pet friendly but you would never know it by any odors or noise

I needed a place to stay because I had to wait 2 weeks for my apartment to be ready but that was also close to work and I must say, the experience was absolutely wonderful The rooms were clean, the staff was very kind, helpful and accommodating The breakfast and food in general is also quite exceptional, I enjoyed the low key ambiance and drinks and I couldn’t have asked for a better transitional place to stay than here

Whether you’re here on vacation or in my position and needed a place to stay, I highly recommend this place

Also the chef always makes a delicious homemade soup of the day! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!
