I rarely write 3-star reviews but I thought this might be good for anyone with families to readHere are things that we didn’t like about this hotel:1 The living room is very noisy and bright

I have 2 teenagers, and we thought the pull out couch would make a good place for one of them to sleep to give them some space It did not work out well They have glass panels in the hotel room doors, which was pretty, but it let in all the hallway light You could also hear everything from the outside They were very busy during our stay and they lounge area was noisy into the middle of the night We could hear this despite being on the 5th floor2 The staff was mostly nice but not always helpful My son got sick while visiting He unfortunately did not make it to the bathroom in time We cleaned this up ourselves because it was out son and we didn’t want to make the cleaning service do it However we didn’t want to keep the towels with vomit in the room I put it in a plastic bag and took it to the front desk for laundry and the lady looked at me like I was crazy I also had to twice ask for beddingThings we did like about the hotel1 The complimentary drinks was a nice touch and appreciated Unfortunately it does get pretty packed during that time so you may not have a place to sit2 The location is perfect Close to other hotels, conventions and the train station is within a 5 minute walk

You get breakfast for each day you stay you get two drinks between 5:00 and 6:30 each day u stayHallways and elevators were way too hot Elevators need at least one fan or two felt like you were going to have a heat strokeRoom was decent I like the setup

Nice size tvs the shower could have been deeper water pressure could have been harderEven though we were by the airport didn’t really hear it unless you were standing outside so that was a plus didn’t get a chance to get in the pool but the area we were in was pretty good restaurants down the road Casino shopping $33 parking but it’s well worth it because you can get in and out without them charging you each time you leaveFirst day of breakfast eggs sausage French toast make your own omelette oatmeal regular toast muffins bagels and cerealSecond day eggs sausage pancakes make your own omelette regular toast muffins bagels cereal oatmealI do recommend this place and I will stay again🙂

Incredible staff Loved all interactions with the people working here But the hotel is simply dated

Needs a renovation Not worth $150 especially with breakfast not included $190 total including breakfast Friendly staff, quick shuttle, and newer fitness equipment made me consider 2 starsThe pool was locked by deadbolt the one night we were there so we couldn’t use it Fitness Center was shoved into 2 long storage closets with no water reloaded in the self serve stations Breakfast buffet is only available on weekends when the hotel expects more income so overpriced menu only on weekdays No refrigerator in the room No bottles of water in the room except from front desk And once again, the interior of the rooms and common areas need an update bad if they want to compete successfully in this price pointHilton needs to audit this one and push ownership to invest in the property to update everything in order to keep the flag And give the staff a raise for making this property seem better than it is!

We stayed here overnight, and I really enjoyed my stay The check-in service was warm and professional (thank you Rosa) The room was spacious, clean and the bed was VERY COMFORTABLE

My only disappointment were the towels They were not what you expect from a HILTON property The towels were very abrasive, they need to be discarded and replaced with soft, fluffy and plush towelsthe ones you EXPECT FROM A HILTON HOTEL Other than that, my stay was WONDERFUL!!!😊😊😊😊

Tricia Walania

This was a great experience The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating We were in town for a wedding that was taking place at this hotel

Everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome The front desk staff was friendly and personable It was great having a restaurant right there as well as a Starbucks Our room was clean and comfortable The elevators and common areas were clean, well kept The hotel is close to many things and has easy access to the highway and airport The ballrooms were great too, a lot of room and the wait staff at the wedding reception were friendly and working hard to clear plates and refill drinks Can’t wait to stay here again

We stayed here for 2 nights in Room 2c It was the cheapest place in the area and with really good reviews like 5 starts almost, but I have to say

it was dirty and in bad shape The bed was pretty comfortable, our private bathroom was clean but the room was literally dirty The large area rug looked like it had not been vacuumed in a very long time, the very creaky wood floor was filthy, the beautiful woodwork along with all surfaces were dusty, the robes where discusting Within walking distance of a lot of nice shops, restaurants, Lake Shore Dr, etc If you don’t mind the uncleanliness, it is a great location which seemed to be safeThe inn-keeper was a nice guy, he gives a lot of advice, the places beautiful but they need to take more care

patti swanson

We stayed here two nights while our apartment in Chicago was being painted It was very affordable, and they really are pet-friendly! (Nearby AirBnBs allowing cats were 2-4x the price, while hotels in the area allowing it were

scary-looking This was a rare find)We found it to be very cozy and comfotable, and peacefully quiet at night It is an old building with some creaks and groans, but that was part of the charm for us The property has awesome historic vibes — you feel like you’re staying in a 1920s rooming house! Bathrooms were private, located across the hall, with robes provided for your convenienceThe free parking was a huge perk and we definitely enjoyed having some cocktails downstairs at the speakeasy as part of our visit!

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE!!! I booked a room for two nights at Old Chicago Inn in December When I arrived, I discovered there is no onsite reception and that you have to call ahead to arrange to check-in I called and left voicemails at the number with the hotel many times over the next few days and was never able to reach anyone

I originally booked through Hotwire and paid upfront, through so far I have not been able to get a refund even though I was never able to check in or reach anyone at the hotel and Hotwire also has not been able to reach anyone there Pretty messed up and VERY EXPENSIVE since I had to book another hotel for the weekend at the last minute

Very cool, vibrant, hipster neighborhood and the hotel as is the whole fits the vibe of the area perfect Alot of energy and life in the area through out the entire day The building the hotel sits in resides as, two very good restaurants, a hip and vibrant lounge, apartments, and a cool sneaker and street wear consignment shop

The rooms are modern, and comfortable although a bit small The staff hospitality is very good The roof top pool and bar gets busy most of the day as it serves as a another lounge area where people can just vibe Just a very cool and hip place I enjoyed the energy and people watching in the lounge area Has a train that runs right next to the building but it didn’t disturb my sleep

Emily Yuen

This hotel was really cool, had a hipster vibe to it, nice decor, and clean The room was a good size, washroom was nice The shower had a waterfall shower head which was enjoyable

The location was also great as it’s close to a lot of cool restaurants and coffee shops that we had on our list They also have bikes to borrow at no additional costs It was also great that you can choose your own check in and check out time We had a late night flight the next day so this was super helpfulI would say the hotel is pretty pricey for what it is Also, don’t opt for the little bag breakfast It sounded like a cute idea Even though it’s only 4 dollars, it’s so not worth it The breakfast pod was cold oatmeal, which just tasted like bland cold mush The orange juice is just a tropicana juice box The front desk service was fine, but could definitely be a little friendlierOverall, I would say we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again

Trinity Scarf

Cool hotel, very vibey, great music, good room and great bathroom We would have loved it and given 5 stars if not for the check in experience Management may want to consider whether a particular lady at the front desk (on the afternoon of Sat 4 June) is appropriate for such a customer facing role

Absolutely devoid of charm, she also unfortunately lacked basic politeness Other front desk staff were fine And other staff we encountered were great Apart from the initial front desk experience we enjoyed our stay But first impressions are important!

Booked a king room Got double full size beds that barely fit both of us Both beds didn’t use a fitted sheets, which is fine if the flat sheets actually covered the mattress

Both were not completely covering the mattress at the foot of the bedAirport shuttle arrived and left late Appeared to just be sitting on the side of the hotel across the street until 5am where it pulled up to pick up people there before coming over to the Doubletree If it cannot leave on the hour as stated, the time should be adjusted Shuttle driver left the door shut until loading all bags making us wait, before letting everyone on (although there were guests from the other hotel already on the shuttle)! Why would it matter if people are already on? I’ve seen this before at this hotel during the winter thinking it I’d appropriate to have guests wait in freezing weather to board

John Miller

First impression of my visit this past weekend (6/10/22) was that this place was going to be great The lobby was impressive and well maintained and check-in was friendly and efficient Unfortunately this trend did not continue

Once we reached the ninth floor the halls were overly warm a thermostat on the wall near the elevator stated it was 77 degrees and it remained that way our entire stay My group and I were treated to various unpleasant smells over the course of our weekend stay in the same hallway Again our first impressions of the room were great but that faded as the weekend drew on A moderate sized stain on the carpet we discovered when we moved a chair to play board games, small spots of peeling wallpaper, messy grout in the bathroom shower, incredibly dirty AC/heater vent, and mini fridge but no microwave were amongst the biggest annoyances for a room of the price range Breakfast was the biggest surprise, there was a buffet with a pretty standard spread of items like scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, cereal, and a fruit bar We were waved over to a table and then went to get our food, some of the items that should have been cold were room temp like the cottage cheese Imagine our surprise when the man who waved us to the table brought us checks as it was not posted anywhere or ever told to us that this was not complimentary like it is a “lower” caliber hotels After tax something like $21 per person for this buffet One of our group only had a small bowl of cereal and a glass of water Overall very disappointed

Jesús Wong

Great place to stayRooms were ample and nicely furnished, I like coffee pots that do not use pods My room had a tub, unfortunately didn’t had a chance to enjoy it

Location is unbeatable, walking distance to the outlets and very convenient shuttle service to the airportEven taking the CTA train is just a 10 minutes walk awayFront desk helped out group a lot, we had special requests and they worked hard to help usGreat place to stay, the welcome cookie is a nice touch

The main benefit of this hotel is the location, but otherwise the amenities are lacking Several amenities listed on the website are no longer being offered (like the “connect your own device”) There was also a huge issue with the billing where the hotel several times assured me the correct card would be charged but yet it was still incorrect

This took a couple of back and forth phone calls to solve a week laterRoom itself was fine minus a few reddish stains on the bathroom wall and towels

Susan Nicholson

Great room, great service! We went for a short visit over the July 4th weekend and expected chaos We were pleasantly surprised with the level of service, the quality of the room and even the meals in the restaurantWe can’t wait to stay again!

Alexis Wekenmann

Very disappointed by the “customer service” here They operate with no compassion or humanity and only care about their bottom line We have been to the various bars and restaurants affiliated with the hotel and have always had mediocre service

I mainly want to highlight two very bad guest relations moments with this hotel:- Prior to booking our hotel block for our wedding my dad wanted to give us a pre wedding gift trying out the hotel When he called to make a reservation they refused to give him a room or let him pay for our room- Fast forward two years later after celebrating our wedding at hotel Zachary and having a room block, we wanted to relive our fun memories from the year prior We were so excited to stay at the hotel, we booked our room in August the year prior Unfortunately I got COVID and could no longer make the booking I tried to call to change my reservation and had it cancelled immediately and was told the manager would call me back They never did call, so I called back Lucky me for the director of operations answered Unlucky me, the director of operations cares more for his number than his guests You would think there would be a human running a hospitality serviced hotel, but instead I got a soulless robot that kept saying “I cannot adjust the room pricing because it is based off dynamic pricing” He gave no room to accommodate us given the circumstances, and it made me incredibly sad because we loved our wedding day the previous year** Our wedding weekend 6/5/21 was great We worked with a lovely human, Daniel Lewellin, that went above and beyond to help us Unfortunately no longer works at the hotel, and sadly I think he took all the guest service and hospitality with him when he leftWe are very sad to say we will no longer be patrons of any of Hotel Zachary’s business

Amazing seafood and sushi I highly recommend the rice cakes The menu works best when ordered as small shareable plates

In terms of cocktails, I recommend the margarita It has a jalapeno in it for some heat, along with spicy salt on the rim After dinner, indulge in the desserts Overall, a very clean and fun atmosphere and great service

Darrin

The hotel itself is nice and if in the Fulton Market, a great location The rooftop offers great views of the cityUnfortunately the hotel itself is not on par with places such as The Peninsula or Ritz Carlton

In room dining is (surprisingly) just okay but the food and the service aspects fall short of the aforementioned hotels The pool is peaceful and great for swimming lapsOverall it is a nice hotel and I couldn’t say one shouldn’t stay here However, if you are looking for a 5 star property in Chicago, there are better options available

Emily S

Chic hotel located in the hip Fulton Market neighborhood and right on restaurant row Rooms are modern in aesthetics and spacious Thoughtful touches throughout the room and bathroom, including high-end amenities (love the dyson hair dryer)

Rooftop bar is awesome but gets busy and often can be difficult to get a seat Room service is available, however, it is limited to items from the Nobu restaurant downstairs, and while the food at Nobu is terrific, it would be nice to have a little variety of cuisines for in room-dining—not a big deal though, as you’re right on restaurant row

Everything was rich in history and so deeply connected with authenticity that it took my breath away

I absolutely loved the stairs from outside and the doors coming into the lobby and of course the spiral staircase outside, that lead to the upstairs balcony which had a Jacuzzi I especially love the French doors going into my room, it was adorable and very homey, having access to the balcony straight to the hot tub was why I picked it I slept like a rock and really enjoyed being able to go into the kitchen when I get up randomly at 4/5 am This kitchen had almost everything I eat at home plus a few other amazing choices The other guests were awesome and friendly, and it feels nice to connect with others that are also from out of state Beautiful place wonderful atmosphere and will be coming back! Thank you so much Don!

Keith Weisz

Absolutely fantastic experience Brooke and Don’s communication has superb By far the nicest B&B we have ever stayed in

The location was perfect, the room was magnificent, and the breakfasts were delicious I could not think of a better place to stay for a weekend getaway to Chicago Thank you so much for helping making this trip happen!

Khelsie Mercado

This place was one of the best BNBs I’ve ever stayed at The property & building itself was very beautiful, lots of nice touches throughout We stayed in the Venetian suite, which led out to the patio/deck, although we didn’t get to enjoy that much because of the snow

Breakfast was pretty standard, but loved how readily available the food was in the kitchen (which is basically my dream kitchen) The surrounding area is really nice; walkable bars & restaurants, but also quiet streets/neighborhood We will definitely be staying here again!

Check in was fast super friendly person the room extra clean and beautiful The bathroom was over sized different sort of sink just don’t turn it on full speed but the shower is wonderful Beds comfortable but small extra soft pillows

We got the shuttle to airport in the morning runs every 15 minutes on time There are 3 restaurants on or around property They are all kind of high end in price but good food We ate at there personal restaurant and enjoyed our meal Will definitely use this hotel again for future travels Also parking in in a garage so cars not left out on lot

Jiri Tvrdik

Everything was exceptional except that the phone system in the rooms continues to be a mystery with me It would be helpful to have some directions in using itThe rooms have everything I need, even a very comfortable chair with foot rest

Room service was great, food excellent and and hot The bed was like sleeping on a cloudI will continue coming to Loews when traveling through Chicago because of the high quality It’s an exceptional home away from home

Spencer Ray

If you are coming to the Rosemont area, this is simply the nicest hotel The rooms were updated, comfortable, and large The toilet paper and bathtub size could be improved in the 1 bedroom suite

However the shower and water pressure left nothing to be desired for a hotel The bedding was the most comfortable I’ve used in the areaThe service was second to none I was here for a busy convention and there also happened to be 2 weddings that weekend at the hotel At no point did I feel Loews was short staffed or made any service concessions as others have The text service was wonderful and every single staff member I interacted with in person or via phone brought a very high level of professionalism and enthusiasm They should sincerely receive commendations for their hard work and effortI did not like the parking garage if it is busy you might be parking on the high floors, I wish I utilized the valetI only wish it was closer to the convention center I’ll be staying at Loews for all future events at Donald However, utilizing a shuttle for hourly service or we would be a great value add service for a busy convention

Lots of amenities Garage parking is included Restaurant is excellent, well run, friendly and reasonably priced

We had breakfast/brunch 3 days and it was very convenient and good Manager and wait staff were friendly and happy to please Housekeeping was excellent, cleaned rooms daily, facility is sanitary and spotless Gym, pool, saunas, hot tub were greatOnly criticism was sports club desk staff not attuned to running a hotel Maybe a post covid problem? No information in the rooms about hotel features, hours, etc Cable TV has problems with sound, but we were too busy to watch TVA Hollywood movie was being filmed there both nights of our stay A little inconvenient but definitely Chicago unique! We will definitely book again

You have access to the fitness center facilities while you stay, so if that is something you are looking for, you will be very pleased with what they have on-siteThe connected restaurant/bar was also a great experience The food menu is somewhat limited due to the nature of it being a hotel restaurant, but what they do have is all incredible Actually very reasonable prices for drinks and food as well Good vibe at the bar if you need somewhere to escape to during your stay Bartenders were very friendlyThe only downside was trying to check-in early was essentially impossible due to the rooms not being ready, but we were able to get in around the guaranteed 4pm check-in time They will hold your bags for you if you arrive early and want to hang out at the bar or go somewhere else while you wait for your room

Overall this was a missed opportunity The service was lacking from checkout to departure The staff offered no info on amenities, didn’t ask whether I’d been there before, so my review speaks only to the hotel

Maybe it gets better? For me however, my experience was an elevator that smelled like sweat every day and a room with walls thin enough to hear slamming doors and weights dropping throughout my stay The pillows seemed to have waterproof covers that had to deflate before you could settle in Overall not a good experienceThe only positives I can really say they offered was the convenience of parking

This hotel is a great value and an enjoyable stay The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful The room was clean as well as the lobby

The cleaning staff appeared to regularly clean the lobby floor as well as spray down and sanitize the furniture It was nice to see such care taken to clean the hotel The hotel has free food available in the morning to guests The food offered was fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, orange juice, tea, and coffee The roof has a lovely view of the city and they allowed guests to eat their breakfast outside in this roof top area The roof top also has a lovely photo spot with a floral backdrop Overall this is a great, clean hotel and I highly recommend it!

I stayed at this hotel between May 15-20, 2022 The hotel is in a great location near major highways, restaurants, bars, comedy shows, etc Upon arrival the valet was super friendly and explained where check-in was (7 floor)

There I was greeted by Devin (I’m terrible with names sorry if I’m wrong) He was fabulous in every way! He really went out of his way to make us feel welcomed Seemed like he slept at the hotel, no matter the time it was, he was there smiling and happy I loved the Kennedy rooftop bar I swear it has the best view of the city Nicole is by far the best! She was amazing! Always friendly and really cared about our stay Front desk, Kennedy rooftop team, brunch team, valet and housekeeping were amazing I only wish the Kennedy rooftop was open later It is such a great place to unwind after a long work day Thank you all for making my business trip feel like I was surrounded by family!

Grand classic hotel Great location about 200 yards from Damen “L” station and if you are taking the train from down town there is an exit at the West end of the platform that is less than 50 feet from the entrance to the Robey This hotel is a converted office building built circa 1930s

It is at the intersection of 3 roads so it is a triangular shaped building so the rooms are odd shapes If you can get a room on an upper floor facing the city the views are spectacular Try the roof top bar too Great 360 degree view from the Roof Top bar The staff is friendly and helpful Great central location to several restaurants, bars, and shopping Although we did not use them, they have venues for weddings and birthdays which both occurred during our stay We did not try their restaurants either but they do have dinning options which seemed very popular

This hotel is in a vintage building that has been restored nicely, while maintaining its character Rooms are comfortable, with minimalist decor, and have good amenities (soda, coffee, bottled water and 312 beer) Note that there is a $25/day amenities fee

We paid extra for a city view room and thought it was totally worth it – the view of the city was wonderful Alternatively, go to the Up Room, which is a great cocktail bar on the top floor and which also has amazing view of the city We enjoyed spending time there, as well as The Lounge on the 2nd floor, which has a casual vibe and sports on TV Service was good but understatedThis hotel is in a perfect location It is steps away from the blue line, Starbucks and Walgreens Wonderful restaurants and cute shops are within a 5-10 minute walk (We love Club Lucky, The Bongo Room and Myopic Books) I cannot think of a reason why we’d stay anywhere else the next time we visit Chicago for a fun weekend,

Russ Abstein

One of the most unique Marruotts I’ve ever stayed in Rooms are small but utilitarian in nature Old school feel with modern amenities

Very good amd friendly service up front The highlight of the place is an upstairs rooftop bar with a great view of downtown The service there was top notch not to mention a real fun group of bartenders just happy to be there Very clean and well maintained property

Enjoyed our stay immensely,(my wife)& I being of old school character, enjoyed the old generation of Ambience, old time feelFrom the lobby,to our quaint(clean)roomEnjoyed the old craftsmanship & decor of entire hotel

as well as the small elevator (that seemed to take 4ever to rise to your floor)when time is not of essence Not to mention the staff kindness & hospitality Next time in area this will be tops on my list of places to Stay & would highly recommend to friends/ family who would enjoy a visit back in timeTo the Good old DaysFeel It!

The Carleton of Oak Park is indeed a beautiful historic hotel However at over $250 a night completely disappointing Hardly no amenities or better yet any at all for this price

The hotel offers two room types, Boutique and motel Their website does not show more expensive boutique rooms have a view of either a brick wall or the parking lot, no gardens as depicted in pictures They did not have one functioning vending machine on all 4 floors Literally no where to purchase bottled water or any other simplicities No coffee station in the lobby, no continental breakfast at minimum Staff was cordial but looked at us like we were bothersome when we asked for nearby restaurant suggestions Nothing in immediate walking distance We had to ask the front desk to provide water Better off spending money at a Marriot

We enjoyed our stay Our room view was great, room very clean, included a kitchen and a great view of the city Hotel location was great for downtown sight seeing

The hotel staff were friendly The complimentary breakfast few options but huge portions Only thing which I felt was the expensive parking Overall i would recommend and will be back

Before making reservations to the hotel we had asked if we could do early check in at 12am and the concierge had responded we probably can and to check in on that day 4 hours before check in and we had called to make sure we could and they had said they couldn’t at all and that is not something they can do at all and have never done but they could check us in at 2pm So we had to make another hotel reservation someplace else for the night at 12am and tried to check in at 2pm the next day

We had talked to the third person there who told us it was first come first serve and they could not check us in until 4 pm This mishap was very confusing for us as they all had said very different things to us and gave us hope and assurance they could check us in If they couldn’t at all then they should have just said no they can’t so we were prepared to book another night and didn’t have to keep checking

My wife and I stayed here while in town for a comic convention and we loved it, cannot wait to come back! The price was the best in the area while being in walking distance of our convention center and so many food options and fun things to do! The hotel itself is beautifully decorated The desk workers were always very kind and helpful during check-in or when we got our parking validated a couple of times The rooms have such a unique layout and were very clean and elegant

We got breakfast one morning and that was also pretty tasty If we are ever in Rosemont again we would love to stay here again!

Elisa

Overall it was a very good experience The hotel is clean and invitingThere is a nice lobby area with a cafeteria, a bar, pool table, and they have an indoor pool and gym

Decor and ambience is very comfortableThe room was neat and clean The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable Daily room cleaning is not done unless you ask, but you are advised of this upon check inWe did have an issue with the bathroom as the floor flooded every time we took a showerBut otherwise it was an excellent stay and we would come back here for sureThank you!

The area in which the hotel is located was great, it was very safe and I felt incredibly comfortable walking around on my own to the mall across the street, and even around the entertainment district as a whole The rooms are clean, well maintained, and the staff from housekeeping to management was incredibly kind & helpful if I had any questions or concerns Jennifer, the hotel manager is an incredible human being with a heart of absolute gold

She assisted me in removing myself from a situation with the friend I was traveling with, that could have potentially turned dangerous for me, had I not relocated within the hotel I could tell that my safety was her number one priority and I will forever be grateful to her for helping me out! I will absolutely be returning to Aloft on my next trip to the Chicago area and cannot recommend it enough to others

This was a top notch experience The hotel is overall very nice, clean and modern All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Kyla at the front desk

The room was very clean, and the beds were comfy The best part about our stay was the indoor/outdoor pool that connected We laid out and relaxed on the deck for hours, it was very peaceful For the price it was well worth it, I will definitely be returning

Dua Kaylani

We stayed here for a 3 day conference The bad: the employees at the front desk don’t know how to deal with crowds, they were ready to explode at any minute, anyone asking to change a room, or wanted a service that they don’t offer, felt like a crisis happening, at some point I thought an employee was deaf because he was completely ignoring a person who didn’t stand in line As someone who deals with people often, these employees need training, serious training

The good: The hotel was very clean, all our needs were met, the service at the bar for lunch and the rooms was superb The food servers at the dinner hall were welcoming and fastWe were able to leave our luggage at the hotel desk after check out to tour the city then come back pick them up in the evening before leaving to the airportThe shuttle to the hotel is a great service! Over all will come back for sure

Jackie Hudson

A good place near the airport if you have a layover Courtesy van runs every 30 min and was very efficient and driver was professional and helpful Disappointed that two chicken sandwiches and to mixed drinks plus tip was almost as much as the room ($90, no kidding) but there is nothing close by and we were too tired after 13 hr flight to look for other options
