I call the front desk to explain the situation and need to cancel Not only was the receptionist incredibly rude, but completely non accommodating or helpful Stated that they make no exceptions to their refund policy Complete lack of professionalism and integrity Extremely disappointed with this hotel and staff

Our family of four just returned home from an amazing stay at Hotel Du Louvre I do not typically write reviews, but our stay at the hotel was so perfect that I wanted to compliment the staff on a job well done! We had the family suite, which was very accommodating for our family The staff went above and beyond to help with things such as reservations at restaurants and arrangements of tours

They packed us a beautiful breakfast one day when we were leaving early for a tour in Normandy The daily housekeeping was also on pointThe location is perfect for walking or jumping on the metro It is also surrounded by many lovely bistros If you are looking for a hotel in Paris, this is the one!

Marianne Rawlins

My experience has been that staying in a Hyatt hotel whilst visiting a new city is a pretty safe bet The accommodation will always be superb and the concierge will be your way in to wonderful restaurants that you wouldn’t have otherwise discoveredMy experience this trip demonstrated that the first was true – accommodation and check-in were wonderful

And location is perfectBut the concierge was more of a detriment than help, being unable to offer any guidance at all He sent us walking 45 minutes to a non-existent clothing store, only to make it up to us by sending us to the worst, most notorious tourist trap for dinnerSo my advice is this hotel will not disappoint unless you expect something from the concierge – which I do, hence the 3 stars

Fredrik Ansker

Stayed here 6 nights summer 2021 Fantastic location, lovely old building with modern rooms and facilities An extra thumbs up to the breakfast staff, just extraordinary

The bar never seemed to be open but this was during Covid A small mishap with the luggage was taken care of by the management in an exquisite manner Will be back whenever I can

The location and rooms were very good As a frequent traveler that visits many different places, what makes this hotel really stand out is the level of customer service it provides The staff was beyond exceptional

Deborah at the front desk, Thomas at the concierge, and Nicolas at the bar were amazing I highly recommend staying at this hotel

Susan Theibault

Le Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal was the perfect location, with the most stellar staffWe were thrilled with our stay, the amenities and our view!Emily in Paris fans should recognize many of the areas around the hotel People took selfies all day long, every day, outside “Savoir” in the Place de Valois, which we viewed from our room

Thank you Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal for an amazing stay! And a special thank you to 2 members of your staff, Armand and Jonas, for being so friendly, tolerating my constant French practice, and becoming “amis en France” 🙂

-Good hotel in a great location-Breakfast was great-Rooms are really big for Paris’ standards

-Cleaning was satisfactory and could be improved (Special note: providing shower gel and shampoo a sufficient amount everytime would be nice)-While the garden is nice, it should be utilized better It felt a bit empty at times-Bar is way too expensive

Freek Segers

Very nice hotel The room, for three people, was spacious Even had a small kitchen with small fridge, a microwave, coffeemaker, water cooker, electric cooking plate, and even a tiny dish washer (!)The hotel is a lot bigger that you would expect standing in front of it

The rooms are housed in several buildings behind the reception around a central inner squareBreakfast was extensive Choice from a lot of different food

R Gallardo

Firstly the staff are very very nice and friendly, customer service wise I would give this place 10/10The hotel it’s self is definitely not 4 star, it’s quite run down, the sink didn’t drain too well and the room just looked like it needed decorating and renovatingThe room we stayed in had the person next door smoking, the issue was the rooms were the connecting rooms therefore I assume the smoke came from under the door into our room which wasn’t very pleasant especially to wake up to the smell! Finally the location is excellent, very easy to get to, connected by metro or walking distance a lot of things

Overall very good location and staff but the hotel is super run down and the smoking next door made the experience a little unpleasant

Rabea Khalife

We booked this hotel my wife and I for our wedding anniversary under the impression that it was a 5* boutique hotel Don’t be fooled by its strategic location, as the hotel is very poorly maintained and the room standards are very far from being 5* The room carpet had a very bad smell and the whole look and feel dusty and dirty

This certainly ruined our Paris experience and would highly recommend looking at some better options

Lana Poole

This is a lovely hotel We had a junior suite with a balcony and view of the sidewalk cafes below The room was charming, comfortable and updated

All the staff made concerted effort to make our stay a good experience Breakfast of eggs, ham, great coffee and the best croissants not to be missed Sonja at the front desk does an exceptional job We plan to stay again Exceptional!

I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through my experience I should warn you of what happened to me!I arrived at the hotel with my partner directly from the airport It was 5 p

m We hurried to drop our things in the room, to grab a coffee nearby When leaving, the lady at the reception asks us to leave the keyOn our return, we notice that the bedroom door was no longer double-locked as we left it My partner notices that her handbag had been searched I go to check my backpack and see that the envelope containing the money, has been moved and put in another compartment of the backpack, and money was missing Not all the money but a little of each currency (€ 800, £ 100, $ 500)I head immediately down to reception to ask them who had access to the room I am told that the porter (Yussuf) has entered to arrange the room for the night I ask the gentleman at the reception to follow me He calls the porter who goes up with usI ask the latter what he had done exactly since neither the curtains were closed, nor the bedspread removed, nor the water bottles left by the bed… He claims he had come upstairs to turn on the light! No justification for his presence in our room during our absenceThe worst part is the lack of reaction from the receptionists We asked them to check the cameras, but said they needed the approval of the manager who, for 2 hours, was not answering calls or messages! And the porter who looked at us defiantly from a distance! It looked like they were all colludingWe then decide to call the police, who came to make the report and advised us to file a complaint the next day, the police station being closed at this timeThe next day no feedback or reaction from the hotel Neither the manager (Helene Sanles) nor the owner bothered to at least apologize for what had happened or find a remedy! At the end of the day we asked if they had checked the cameras They claim that no one other than the porter had entered Then added that they have never had a problem with him We felt, in addition to have been robbed, that we were being suspected of lying! We filed a complaint at the police station Enclosed the depositionTo this day, no apologies, no feedback from the hotel! Please avoid this hotel where our privacy has been violated, and our money stolen!

Faith Holmes

The hotel is really nice, very clean and the bed is the comfiest bed I’ve ever had in a hotel The staff are really friendly The only down side is that the room is so small, there is barely space to move, no where to unpack/put your suitcase

The shower is good but the shower space is tiny, so small that it’s hard to have a proper shower, you can’t move in there properly,

Salma

Great location, staff are welcoming except for the manager who was rude He requested me to give him the key and when I asked why he said to know if you are in the room or no !!! As I have to take care of my security, his response was weird and he didn’t even bother to explain that this is an old fashion hotel and clients used to leave theirs before leavingOtherwise, room was clean

Edgar Arce

The hotel is in a great location and easy to get there by metro and you can go to the popular tourist attractions is really easy and some even on walking distance Size of the room was good enough specially for Paris and had all you need and a good size bathroomPrice for the room is good and there are a lot of good places to eat nearby

Staff was really helpful and there is always someone in the reception to help you My wife’s wedding ring fell into the bathroom sink in the morning before we were going to the Louvre and the staff helped us really fast even though my wife was in panic mode they got the ring back in minutes and we were able to continue with our day Cannot thank enough the staff that helped usDefinitely will go back to this hotel if I am in Paris

We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Caron! It’s clean, quiet, and in a fantastic location Walking distance to numerous attractions and the metro The neighborhood is full of great places to eat, drink, and shop

The staff is so nice, especially Helen (who we dubbed Saint Helen!) — she worked a miracle when we asked to extend our stay an extra four days ❤️ Vive la Saint Helen! They even stock your refrigerator with beverages and snacks for free After several long days of exploring it was so nice to have that We highly recommend Hotel Caron!

Rachel Yilmaz

Hotel Caron is really lovely! It is very clean, the people are more then welcoming and the service was wonderfull! We stayed for 2 nights arriving with the Thalys We came early in the morning and left our bagage at the reception where it was well looked after The room was nice, clean and good beds

The location was perfect! We used the city bus wich stopped directly around the corner and wich was even nicer en easier then the metro Around the hotel were really nice restaurants, terraces and shops It felt as a safe neighbourhood A 5 minute walk to Place des Voges, 25 minute walk to the louvre, close to the seine and Notre Dame, in the Le Marais area wich is really nice the hotel was very centrally located so that was also perfect! A couple weeks ago, I visited the spa at Le Bristol It was small and very well designed I received a warm reception and experienced two good treatments

There is a small but well designed locker room with a ham man I was offered a welcome drink and given time to relax following the treatment I would highly recommend the elegant and jewel like spa if you are in Paris

Salem Said

Service was truly exceptional special thanks to the concierge team led by Tony with a shout out to Guillaume, Helene, Gabriel and FannyRoom service was always on time and consistently amazing quality as should be expected from such an establishmentRoom was always maintained to a high standard and all the staff were lovely and smilingThank you Le Bristol for making us feel at home and see you again!

Unfortunately what was initially a fantastic stay turned into a nightmare On the second day I realised £450 had disappeared from my bag Along with the money, my wife’s facial mist spray which was quite a large bottle

This was actually the item that lead to the initial suspicion After searching the room for two hours it was nowhere to be found Without jumping to conclusions I thought it may be prudent to leave some more money in the exact location I left the money on the previous night, just to be sure of my initial suspicions After going for a wedding event, I returned to the room and we immediately checked the bag £100 out of the £140 that was left in the bag had disappeared After confronting the hotel immediately, I was assured the matter would be investigated I was advised I needed to go to the police station to report this if anything was to be done I was leaving to head back to London that day and told them I was unable to Long story short, they initially told me nothing could be done unless I reported it to the police After one week they advised as a gesture of good will they would transfer me the lost money but nothing could be done to the member of staff that stole the money even though it was clearly evident that it was that member of staff that stole the money that serviced the room over the two nights in the evening Whilst I know one member of staff cannot represent the whole business, I feel the hotel could have taken swifter action after immediately notifying them of the theft from the room on the second occasion It took them over a week to come back to me and that with me having to chase them All that was offered was the money that was taken from me, with no apology for all the inconvenience me and my wife had experienced and that no further action could be taken with the individual Be very careful of your possessions when visiting

We stayed for 3 nights and didn’t get the breakfast The staff was absolutely amazing, they did their best to help us out and recommend restaurants and places to visitThe room and bathroom were clean, however the bathroom had a sliding door, no window and no vent, which isn’t great and the reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5

Julie

Good location, the small room totally acceptable for Paris, comfortable bed, water boiler in the room, only two sockets in the room under the table – an extension cord would be a good idea Good breakfast, nice breakfast personelReceptionist (the woman with the grey hair) was rather unwelcoming, ignored me for several minutes for check-in, then started talking French without looking at me, left me standing outside the closed door several times

Hayden Elliott

We arrived to the hotel at 8 am from traveling all night long from the US We knew that the check in time was not until 3, so we left our stuff in the baggage room and went to go get something to eat We were fine with our room not being ready as the check in time policy for this hotel is 3 PM, but we came back around 1130 just to check and see if they possibly had a room ready for us since we were exhausted from traveling overnight

The man at the front desk notified us that our room still was not ready and that it would at least be a couple hours We were so tired from being up all night, so we decided to sit in the lobby to rest and wait for our room During this time, we saw two other families come in and were able to check in their room with no problem That was a little frustrating to us considering we had been waiting for almost 5 hours at this point When we finally got into our room, we found that the lights in the hallways leading to the rooms on our floor (5) were completely out and stayed this way for the duration of our trip We had to use our flashlights on our phones to even see where we were going This is a safety issue in my opinion and needs to be addressed The room also had a very unpleasant musty smell, and it was very hot during the night which kept us from getting proper sleep The only reason I’m even giving this hotel 2 stars is because of the location-That is the only positive thing I can say about this hotel

I want to express my gratitude and respect to the owner and staff of the hotel I’m having a difficult time during the pandemic when I couldn’t fly to Paris, they kept my reservation Thank you very much for your understanding! During my stay at the hotel, I saw goodwill and friendliness, willingness to answer any questions and provide assistance

Russian bank cards do not work in Europe now and they helped me in buying tickets to Mont Saint Michel This is an invaluable gift for me I want to note the cleanliness of the hotel and the calm atmosphere After long walks around the city, I like to drink tea in the evening The lack of a kettle in the room is not a problem I could take hot water to the reception, make tea and drink in peace in my room One word can be said about the location of the hotel – magnificent! I had the best impressions and a great desire to return Next time I won’t even think about looking for a hotel in Paris I found my paradise in this beautiful city

Jenn Phan

A truly enjoyable hotel stay Was very pleasantly surprised and highly recommend Group of friends traveling to Paris and looking for something budget friendly but still nice and we got really nice and really budget friendly

The family room was huge and we were able to get four beds The toilet is separate from shower and sink so different people can be in each Great water pressure, hot water lasted, cute balcony, small elevator to room, super clean, good housekeeping Seriously all amazing Location is also fantastic Close enough to all the fun stuff while being tucked just far enough away so it isn’s loudThis “2 star hotel” puts a lot of 4 stars to shame Will definitely be back!

Mary Upson

My sister-in-law, niece and her girlfriend visited Paris in early March of this year This hotel is fabulous It was recommended by my former college professor who taught French and Humanities

Six months prior to our trip we started emailing Clementine and Gwendal on the hotel staff with various questions-mostly pertaining to the weekly changes with Covid-19 All of our questions were answered promptlyWe began our stay in one large quad (four of us in one room) but quickly realized it would be more comfortable with two adjoining rooms Clementine graciously changed our accommodations to two adjoining rooms Our rooms were clean and quietThere was an option to pay each morning for breakfast but we opted to venture out on our own I really needed a cup of coffee first thing in the morning and the staff allowed me to wander into the breakfast room for a cup of coffee (a la carte)All of the staff was so friendly and helpful We enlisted Gwendal a few times to help us navigate to a nearby restaurant This hotel is in the 6th district and we felt it was centrally located and near many of the sights we wanted to see We’re recommending this hotel to our family and friends We plan to return!

Hotel is pretty close to Metro stations A decent breakfast selection I loved their coffee machine you can make anything from cappuccinos and macchiatos FYI Their elevator is super tiny only fits one person and their luggage but as long as they have an elevator it’s all good with me

An amazing hotel with even better staff!I felt so welcomed and looked after from the moment I arrived until I left – I honestly haven’t come across more helpful staff at any other hotelI arrived a bit early but the team had my room ready for an early check inThe rooms are beautifully designed with high quality finishings in the bathroom – and they’ve been really clever to make the most of the small space they have

The rooms are very quiet so perfect if you’re a light sleeper, and the bed was super comfortableThe housekeeping staff do a wonderful job cleaningThe hotel puts on free snacks every afternoon which is a wonderful touch, and the breakfast is great tooAbout a 5 minute walk to the metro, but in a great location to just wander around Paris on foot tooThe only downside is the rooms are small – however the hotel doesn’t hide that from you, the proportions are all listed on their website, the photos are very true to form and they’ve made great use of the space they do have As everyone knows, Paris hotel rooms are notoriously small anyway, and you probably aren’t there to spend all day inside – it is however a fantastic place to go back to after a long day of exploringI can’t recommend this hotel highly enough – it was nicer than some 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in

This a lovely boutique hotel in a fab part of Paris Don’t be put off by the graffiti or two lower shop fronts either side of the entrance We had a beautiful large room with floor to ceiling windows with French doors

Absolutely stunning view of the tree lined street and the spires of Norte Dame The bed was so comfortable and bath big enough to take a swim in!The only drawback was having the room made up We left each morning returning some five hours later with an expectation that the room would be cleaned during this period Unfortunately this wasn’t the case We stayed seven nights and the room wasn’t cleaned three days out of seven which was disappointing especially as we left a sign on the door saying please make up the room Overall though, we would definitely return The staff are lovely

Beautiful little French hotel in an excellent location, we had room 101 and it was very large and spacious, beds were comfortable and bathroom was nice and largeHotel is located very close to lots of resturants, bars and boulangeries 45 min walk to the eiffle tower, 5 min walk to metro

Staff were welcoming and very friendly We had a lot of luggage and were catching the train, one of the staff recommended a different station as it had lifts and was a little easier to get down to the platform This was a huge help and we really appreciate the local knowledgeWe also left a toy bunny, staff have been excellent, Ups on the other hand need to take a note out of the hotels customer service!Excellent hotel, we’ll stay again when we visit for our next stay in ParisThank you

My husband and I stayed here for a visit to Paris in November and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience The staff was WONDERFUL, we received helpful tips, directions, help making reservations and a million other kindnesses The room was luxurious, clean, well-appointed and comfortable and the lobby was always warm and welcoming

Our flight was delayed a day and the hotel staff made sure that we had a place to stay, even though our room was already rented out–we ended up in an even more beautiful space across the streetYou cannot beat the location and the level of service–we felt like family by the time we left and will most definitely return Management should be supremely proud and appreciative of the outstanding staff here!

My wife and I spent 3 nights at this hotel in late April 2018 I would equate the hotel to a boutique hotel in the US

When we checked in we were pleasantly surprised to know they had upgraded our room We stayed in one of their 2 rooms on the upper level The room was superb clean, nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed and sofa and very quiet The only view from our window was the building across the narrow street, but we weren’t too disappointed The staff was very friendly and accommodating all employees we had contact with spoke English very well Continental breakfasts were eaten in their cozy lobby and were very tasty and filling There are so many places to eat and drink all around within walking distance Although we didn’t take advantage of it, there was even a small theatre showing French films across the street Notre Dame Cathedral was a short walk away We loved our stay and highly recommend this hotel!

Very clean rooms that have been recently renovated A decent breakfast and a 24-hour wine “machine” Antony at the front desk was fantastic

He helped us with reservations, wine recommendations, and a taxi as we left The guy made our visit much nicer I would absolutely stay here againThe only downside is that the rooms are small, but this Paris

This is a very clean and comfortable boutique hotel I chose it based, in part, upon its short walk from the Cité Universitaire train station, which is only about 7 stops from CDG Airport on an express train The friendly desk clerk stored my luggage while my room was being prepared– and offered to move me to a room farther from the street without me even asking

A comfortable bed greets a jet-lagged traveler, followed by a nice French breakfast in the morning

After a complication during booking, Ms Panico was able to assist us with an alternative solution which worked out better for our family When we arrived from the airport, we were surprised that our rooms were ready for check-in

After a long flight and layover, this was much appreciated The rooms were spotless, loved the luxe products The hotel was close to the bus stop and Metro Wonderful staff! Thank you for making our stay memorable Thank youMs Panico, Anthony, and Maryam

Le Senat was the perfect hotel for our 10 day trip to Paris! The location was safe and super accessible to everywhere we ventured during our stay All of the staff were also super friendly, accommodating, and professional The rooms are smaller than what we are used to in the States, but that is very common throughout the city

Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at Le Sénat Hotel and particularly appreciated the excellent service we received from the friendly and helpful staff We stayed in the top floor duplex terrace suite with outstanding views overlooking Paris It was worth paying the extra money for this room as having a glass of champagne on our sunny terrace was just delightful

The hotel is in a wonderful location, with cafes and restaurants nearby, plus the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens Highly recommend this hotel and we will stay here again!

The lovely hotel is in a great neighborhood Very quiet street and with a cute delicious corner cafe, a wine bar and small corner store Close to a nice area wth cafes, bars, and restaurants and the Luxembourg gardens

Easy access to the Metro The breakfast was perfect The staff was wonderful all around We loved it! We had one of the Duplex Terrace rooms with a nice view of Sacré-Cœur in the distance Beautiful space Really enjoyed the balcony The only thing to note is the shower tub combo in this particular room If you have mobility issues of any kind I do not recommend this particular room However, I very much recommend the hotel in general, it’s a great place for your Paris stay

Not worth 3 stars and can not recommend anybody to stay here for the price Piss stains on beds, no airconditioning, really small and old fashioned rooms,… We paid 200 euros a night for a classic bedroom and immediately went to look for other hotels in the neighborhood We found loads of other hotels that also were 200 euros a night with the same 3 stars rating that included airconditioning and clean sheets, so we changed immediately

I do have to say that the people in the hotel are really sweet and directly gave us our money back for the rest of the week and charged us half for the following night, so Thank you for that

Sean

Paying over $100 a night for a broken elevator, rooms not ready at check in time, paper thin walls that hear every room around room Don’t mention the street traffic non stop Guess I should have just booked the youth hostel

The bed is not pillow top mattress feels like the college dorm you added pillow tops to make more comfortablePlease save your money and look elsewhere This is not the European charm you want in vacation

Adam Johnson

When in France stay here You have the Eiffel tower at your balcony and the Lourve is a hop, skip, and a jump away Then you hop and skip down to another museum and you hop and skip in that place

Then someone smells you hopping and skipping and they don’t like your smell Welp, good luck after that because you can run but they are going to find you

The superior room here was spacious in terms of a city room It could be a challenge for people 6′ or taller I am 5’10” and the ceiling was just about 2-3 inches higher

The staff was informed, friendly and helpfulThe breakfast spread was not very elaborate But had enough options for all dietary constraints, including vegans

Mario Longhi

Cute small hotel in a nice location that is quite centralThe checkin was easy and the staff was helpful throughout our stayOur room had a nice window that faces a pedestrian street and allows for fresh air to flow through
