The room was very nice Employees are very nice Excellent location

The curtains are not black out and I had 2 street lights shining in my room The breakfast, while hot and plentiful, was gross They hold $30 on your credit card and say they will give back at check out, yeah In 5 to 10 business days 2 times while walking to my room the floors were slick from people walking around from the pool and not drying off

Lex Schaefer

I recently stayed at this hotel and I was not impressed You could tell the sheets were absolutely not changed The toilet paper holder was broken

Was given a handicap bathroom with the shower wall coming apart and flies coming up the drain It did not seem as though the carpet was vacuumed I had an early check in so maybe they were rushing but still The door was also able to be seen through had to put a towel over the lock Not acceptable seeing as I have very high standards for Hyatt as I always stay with Hyatt Not anymore

Styles C

I enjoyed my stay for the most part I love the breakfast in the morning and the staff was super friendly! They even had a nice heated room for the indoor pool What I didn’t like is the outdated TV situation

They didn’t have any HDMI hookup and most importantly streaming services connected to the TV And what really gets my panties in a bunch is when a hotel does not feature black TV networks such as bet with their cable package It is pure racism that keeps hotels from choosing black TV channels and I resent it Step up your game in 2022 This is a world of diversity equity and inclusion Me not having TV options and only cable channels selected through the lens of racism, I will not patronize this hotel

This was a great experience staying here at the Marriott My room was clean and cozy We ate downstairs in the restaurant and the food was really good

My girlfriend is not really a drinker but Felicia made her a perfect drink that she really enjoyed JD puts lots of Love into preparing his food đź‘ŤAnd the front staff was very nice and ready to help in any way they can If I’m in Newport News again, this will be where I will stay Good job guys!!!!!

Jim Bullard

My honest opinion with my stay at the Marriott at Newport News City Center was above my expectations Your hotel has the best staff, from checking in, to answering questions, refreshing the room daily, and I would be so wrong if I did not mention the staff during breakfast All of this put together, made my visit awesome

I have stayed in several Marriott’s in the past, but I have to say, was the best for me I applaud you and your staff for providing your customers with a well-managed and maintained hotel Please let your staff know, I thank them for all they did for me during my stay I will be back!Sincerely,James Bullard

Caroline Hafey

I’ve stayed here twice for business, and both times were very pleasant Is it the fanciest Marriott? No, but it’s perfect for a work trip The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are well equipped (both rooms I stayed in had a refrigerator which is huge for me- and they have a shared microwave down the hall you can use), and the facilities are well maintained

The gym has several well-functioning treadmills, other cardio equipment, and weights They have coffee and tea left out, as well as bottled water The buffet breakfast is perfect for travel – they have a healthy “cold” side and then the traditional hot breakfast spread The location is prime for walking to other restaurants, and parking is easy Will certainly stay here again!

I had the Korean chicken They gave breat/wing portions of a chicken (1/2 chicken) Those in the group who had salmon were also surprised by the portion size

Everyone loved their meal!We had tuna bites, fried pickles and buffalo cauliflower for appetizers Everything was delicious! This was the first time I tried raw tuna (at least in chunk size) Oh my goodness, I wanted to eat the whole dish! The fried pickles came with a sauce that balanced the natural saltiness of the pickles as well as enhanced the overall taste The coating gave it a perfect crunch The cauliflower had just enough heatThis was my first visit to Nest, but I don’t plan on making it my last It was a well hidden secret (at the golf course)

My husband and I were so happy to have celebrated our ceremony and reception at Kiln Creek! I loved how our event space was personalized!Nikky was there to help me with almost everything, from the pre-planning process to the day of! She did an amazing job answering questions and working through my ideas She was pretty busy at the time, but we stayed in contact with one another to get it all done! I must commend her for also being our day-of coordinator, everything went so smoothly!Nikky/Kiln Creek allowed us to bring in our own vendors and only set a limitation for catering only; not the cake vendor My husband and I didn’t have a caterer in mind anyway, so it didn’t bother us

We chose our special brunch menu and the food was GREAT!! Nikky provided a vendor list to gather ideas and we were able to find an amazing DJI also enjoyed how Kiln Creek has a hotel, right there! We had a queen and king room for weekend which was EXTREMELY convenient! Thanks to Ivey for helping me with that process! I was able to tour the room and book our stay in advance My ladies and I had a spacious room to prepare for the ceremony; plenty of space to create two separate areas for hair and make-up! The groom and his men prepared themselves in the locker room of the event space, which was actually spacious and nice!My husband and I stayed at The Lodge that night, had a late checkout AND enjoyed the coffee and food at The Nest Kitchen We made visits to the restaurant just to have food and coffee! Our experience was phenomenal thanks to Nikky and her supporting staff and of course our other vendors!

My husband decided to make reservations here and bring me here for breakfast Food was greasy and not all what it says to be I had the Carne something that came in a bowl and the rice was hard not once but twice and I told the waitress no tomatoes (I’m allergic) bowl full of baby tomatoes

Husband had fries with his biscuit and gravy and had onions (he’s allergic) in it and the waitress fail to tell him that They sat us to the front table by the door and flies start swarming in like they was on a SWAT team I can say Shardey(?) was a gem out of the whole experience She was nice and considerate and she wasn’t our waitress!!! You think spending close to $50 on breakfast you would get something worth eating——–NOT!! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME AND EAT THERE!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤮RATE— -0 for food

We are repeat customers to Magnolia House! It’s like a home away from home, except they do the cooking and tidying up! Joyce and Lankford are treasures Having the intimate experience is wonderful these days, and we always meet the most amazing people Not to mention the breakfasts are creative and delicious

Looking forward to our next visit

Tyler Ray

We had an amazing stay at the Magnolia House Inn over President’s Day Weekend! It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and Joyce and Lankford set the bar very high The house is nestled perfectly in Hampton, close to restaurants and activities, but also gives you a chance to get away from it all and have a quiet and relaxing time sipping coffee in the morning while enjoying the historic beauty of Magnolia House We greatly enjoyed the breakfasts (delicious frittata, fresh fruit, and local jams were highlights!) and learning more about the house and laughing in conversation with the hosts and fellow guests

We look forward to returning in the spring and summer and enjoying the beautiful wrap-around porch on our next visit!

We wanted to do a one night get-a-way and found the Inn at Warner Hall The pictures and write-ups sounded lovely This was truly an unexpected treasure and I am so glad we selected to stay here

The building has been renovated throughout while maintaining much of the original charm The furnishings were also excellent Theresa gave us a tour of the property upon check in and was so very welcoming The breakfast was all home made and so delicious Don’t miss the morning walk to the boat house it was a great way to start the day before breakfast We will definitely stay at the Inn again

Peggy Terhune

This experience was amazing, from the minute we arrived Great parking, right by the front door The host helped grab our luggage to go to the third floor

The bed was so comfortable, I didn’t want to get up The view was gorgeous from our window, the room large and comfortable The breakfast food was awesome, and on my special diet, they had no trouble accommodating me Plus, coffee, soda, water always available, as well as snacks such as chips and Grandma’s cookies Way better than a hotel, and we will definitely stay again!

Kellin Gibson

I enjoyed the most blissful stay at this romantic inn! The innkeepers, Troy and Theresa, made my 27th birthday so very special! Both were excellent hosts, who offered such warm hospitality They even brought me freshly picked peonies from the garden and bubbly water to celebrate! My room, Mildred Warner, was so inviting and spacious! I enjoyed strolling the grounds and reading in the wicker rocking chair on the second-floor balcony Breakfast was delicious and served onthe beautiful river porch

Close lunch/dinner options are available in town, along with many fun shopping ventures This place was so tranquil! Parking was plentiful and accessible Postcards were in my room, which was a thoughtful detail I highly recommend staying at this historic, romantic inn where lovely adventure awaits!

I love it here very safe and comfortable Real food and not brown bags of food The front desk will help you anyway they can

Housekeeping real fast on changing out your sheets and towels This is my first time staying here but me and my husband have been here almost five days 🧡❤️Only issue I had was the door you have to pull it all the way or it won’t shut if you want to stay in Hampton stay here🧡❤️

Ann C

The cleanliness and status of the room was very good, but the configuration of the room was a little inconvenient The toilet paper was hard to reach when needed, the TV had to be swiveled to be seen from either the main area or the bed, the ac was constantly running since the bed was cut off from the vent, and there was a light blinking above the bed (which was annoying when the lights were off, for sleep) Not sure if all the rooms are like this, but it was for mine

cayli crockett

DO NOT STAY HERE I don’t normally leave reviews, but I checked in and 10 minutes after I got my son and I and all of our luggage upstairs- I called the front desk for a refund because I refused to stay in that dirty room The walls looked like they haven’t been washed since they built the building- almost like there was a coating over them

Hairs around the sink, huge water stains on the ceiling, stains on the lamp, phone, grout in the shower looks absolutely disgusting and had black mold in some corners, base boards looked like they’ve never seen soap I mean, it was the worst hotel I’ve been to I don’t normally complain or ask for refunds, but I could absolutely not stay there I will say they didn’t fight me on it when I told them I wanted to leave and with a refund She told me okay and released the charge on my card Haven’t gotten the refund yet, but I’m sure it’ll take a few days I don’t recommend

Not only was everything clean, but every single member of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful The staff running the breakfast area were consistently keeping everything stocked and clean and had great personalities We had the misfortune of accidentally leaving my 5 year olds most loved stuffed animal behind but the housekeeping staff had already found it and saved it for us so they could easily be reunited

Including any higher rated accommodations I’ve stayed in before, this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had

Janet Stellete

My husband and I stayed there for five days I loved how convenient it was to all shopping centers and restaurants The breakfast layout was comforting and the chefs were very professional

The hotel itself was beautifully made but the hotel room servicing staff were inadequate Upon arrival the room that we were given was not cleaned properly Hair was in the shower, the floor wasn’t swept, and the bed was poorly made The only time we received clean towels was upon request and we never got fresh linens (yes we placed the green sign on the bed) We got asked if we wanted service a day before we were checking out, but by that time it’s too late Also, the water pressure in the shower is very poor for that room 5 stars for hotel appearance but 3 stars for room service

Reni N

Great location! Great rooms The rooms have a little kitchen with sink, plates and utensils Staff and manager are friendly

Breakfast quality and experience could be a lot better Good Internet speed One of the electric car chargers is broken Walking distance to a lot of great places like the pub and Indian restaurant close by I’m here all summer so I’ll update the review at the end

The front desk’s customer service was exceptional! I didn’t get a name but the two ladies working February 11th between 10am-2pm were so patient and accommodating to usThe facilities were amazing as well Great location!
