I do not know how this place even has semi-good reviews This is the worst “Best Western” and one of the worst hotels I’ve ever been to! If there had been another place to stay, we would not have stayed here after seeing the hotel in general and our room The entire hotel is very outdated with dirty carpets

It appears that people are using the hotel as a long-term residence There was a dog barking constantly in one of the rooms near the lobby The elevator is sketchy at best: we only took it one time and decided stairs were a much safer bet In our room, the toilet and shower were dirty (which the guy at the desk came up and cleaned after we informed him, but why should I even have to tell them?) Also the coffee maker in the room was disgusting literally had gunk covering it!Needless to say, we checked out as soon as we were finished with the wedding that we were in town for, and we will never go back

Great service over all, the outgoing and bright manager Veronica is what makes it all so much more enjoyable Well cleaned and comfortable settings, excellent weight room with a few selections of machines and weights with a pool right next to cool off afterwards Breakfast is always hot/cold and wide varieties of fruits, proteins, breads, cereals, etc

If your looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay this is the hotel for you!

It seemed like the rooms were not cleaned very well One of our bathroom towels had some crud on it, along with one of the bed comforters having stains on it The hotel was supposed to be smoke free but when we opened our bathroom door it had a very strong smoke smell in it

It seemed like it was more of a hotel for poor people to live, and it also seemed like the front desk staff’s family or friends were just hanging out there and mooching off of the snacks that are supposed to be paid for When my husband was looking for a pen in the computer drawers in the lobby, he found socks and a bunch of trash stuffed in them instead In the middle of the night, there was a really strange loud noise that woke me up (it sounded like maybe it was coming from the plumbing), which occurred twice My mother-in-law said they had that happen in their room as well The elevator seemed slightly unsafe to ride (the door opened & closed very slowly and with a squeaking noise), and it seemed very rickety when riding it It is sad to see the hotel like this, because overall, the hotel itself is in good condition, it’s just not being maintained well at all I would very highly recommend an executive or manager of the company to go undercover and stay there to experience what is going on

Love this place It’s my home town that we moved away from last year to FloridaRoom prices are good

The food is good, but a little pricey, but good Try to get a River view There are ample views throughout the building Nice pool and work out center / with activities The river walk across the street is spectacular with 1000 freighters going up and down the Saint Clair River The cleanest blue water in the worldThere is a fully stocked very nice gift shop My #1 recommended stay in Port HuronThe staff have all been professional and helpful

Leta Saul

2 day business conference in early May 2022 Great location! The meeting rooms were spacious but not cavernous The rooms were clean and staff was courteous

Freighters Bar is a great place to sit and relax with amazing food and well made drinks Beautiful surroundings that overlook the river and the Blue Water Bridge make this a really good experience

B G Scharnhorst

We stayed here on short notice because of a snowstorm We got a single king room Shaina was wonderfully helpful and a pleasure to work with

The premises were clean and well-maintained The room was marvelous – clean, updated, and well-kept We ran into some housekeepers while going downstairs, they were friendly and greeted us with a smile! The downstairs restaurant Freighters was FANTASTIC (that’s another review) All in all, the best possible experience we could have had for a situation where we weren’t expecting to have to get a hotel room – and because of that, we’ve decided that we’ll PLAN to come back, just for a getaway weekend! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I’ve been to a lot of campgrounds but this one is not for you if your not a grandparent or someone with a kid that’s younger then 7, there no bonfire pits, no where to walk your fur babies and the lady that runs the office was so nice when I was on the phone with her then I got here and the first this she said was no refunds🚩🚩 and after that she was just incredibly rude And be careful, if your playing with your dog and he/she gets too excited she’ll kick you out

These policies were NOT explained when they took our Credit Card for the 2 night stay over phone Upon arrival the policy changed as they took the CASH depositThey will set you up and keep your CASH deposit

According to reviews it might be happening often Buyer be ware! They will record you, follow you with cameras and enter your room as they wish Treated rudely We were upset, absolutely What do you expect? To General Manager Lisa Wilson: “So you made assumptions based on who and what?”Her: “We have cameras and recording devices”Me: “Oh really? So you waited until we left, pilfered our room during our stay then made decision to keep our deposit at checkout? 2 days later? When we are in a rush to leave? Her: “This is over with, you are not getting your “cash” deposit back”Money maker? Set up? Sure felt like it

Such a wonderfully unique place to grab a bite to eat! The food is far superior to your regular ‘bar food’ The portions are quite large and can easily be shared But with so many tasty homemade choices, you may just want to share more than one delicious item

And I’m a huge fan of leftovers for breakfast! You’ll enjoy fast and friendly service from the entire staff And if you happen to need a place to spend the night, I highly recommend The Murphy Inn The rooms all have private bathrooms and each has their own special charm It’s a treat just to peek into the rooms to see how each is decorated Since it’s an old, old building you can expect it to feel and behave like one To me, that makes it all the better We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and would not hesitate to stay again It’s such a beautiful area as well It has the feel of being ‘up north’ (a Michigan thing) without the huge hassle of driving there While you’re in the area, be sure to check out the incredible ships making their way up or down the St Clair River

Janet Clemente

Had a burger It was okay The onion rings were delicious

I was very cold The air conditioning was to cold When we sat down I noticed a menu on the floor No one seemed to pay attention to it I went to pick it up but noticed it was over a register that was blowing cold air out I am just assuming someone put it there to keep some of the cold away Nice atmosphere I will go back

I love these IHG hotels they are great, clean, modern, great hospitality, staff, and breakfast selections are always good the room was very spacious and it always makes you feel comfortable, up to date facilities and furnishings with a classy and chic feel

Cheryl who managed the breakfast area is amazing and hardworking ✨

Jason Davis

Not sure how this place has a 4 star rating? Dirty, hair in the sink and shower, bathroom door won’t close, the beds are made of hard condensed straw, walls are paper thin, and the main reason for choosing this place, the pool, is out of service Probably for good, from the looks of all the signs stating it’s out of service Holiday Inn just isn’t what is was growing up

This hotel was very clean and quiet We had a peaceful stay here as a family of four, 2 adults, 2 kids Our room was very clean, smelled good and no sign of any unwanted creatures

We swam in the pool which was clean and well taken care of It had a very shallow area with a wide staircase and handrails to walk into the pool at the 3 foot side Then it gradually got deeper all the way to 5 feet at the deep end There was also a hot tub which was nice too The hotel provided towels for the pool although they were very small Our room had 2 double beds The front desk guy that checked us in was friendly and kind They provided free breakfast from 6am to 9am We ate breakfast both days The room was small with few tables but they had additional seats in the lobby The food was fresh and tasted good The main attraction is the waffle iron to make your own waffle The coffee was hot and good They also had cereal, hot eggs and sausage, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, apples, packaged muffins and juice, coffee and hot chocolate The location was very quiet because it’s next to a storage business At the beginning of the driveway there is a restaurant and gas station so that was convenient Only a 10 minute or less drive to downtown port Huron We would definitely stay here again and recommended it to someone we met that did not like their hotel in Port Huron

Marin Tack

Unfortunately, our stay here was not great The girl at the front desk was friendly and doing her best, but it was clear that management isn’t top tier here Check in time was 3pm and a wedding we were supposed to be going to started at 3pm, so we figured it would be fine to get there around 3:30, but we were unable to even get into our rooms till around 4pm

(One room we got in first around 3:45, but the second we still were waiting for until after 4) My dad had called earlier in the week to assure that we could get in right at 3pm, and we were told “yes” I can completely understand being understaffed, and I think that was mainly the issue, but we went out of our way to be sure we could get into our rooms in a timely way and were told one thing and then experienced the opposite The one room was especially dingy and the bathroom was slightly dirty, and the other room was cleaner but was under the stairs which was incredibly noisy Definitely won’t be staying here again

Not great The room was clean, beds were fine, as well as breakfastBut

We stayed on main floor, and you could hear every step on the floor above usThe aisle smells like skunk, or pot, towards the parking lot exit Extreme smell This is the new smell of smoking Equally annoyingAnd not good when you travel with kids, and expecting a more that decent stay at a Hampton inn

Stephanie Rankin

Apparently, only if you pass away on certain days of the week or certain times of the year will your loved ones be allowed a bereavement rate So very disappointed in Port Huron Hampton Inn Management changed their mind after stating that yes I would be able to get the bereavement rate

When I checked my reservation online, I noticed the rate had more than doubled

Scott

Mattresses are older than Moses, nothing but springs in your back The DirectTV is agrivating to say the least No water offered at check in for Diamond members, simply pointed in the direction of a vending machine

Water stains on the ceiling If you stay here, pick the high floor unless you want to hear foot steps all night and creaking floors Basically the equivalent to a Choice Hotel Brand

This hotel is conveniently located right at the end of the expressway in Port Huron The entrance is a little tricky to find because they need better signage for their entrances The hotel lobby is very clean and the front desk associate was very nice

They have a pool, hot tub, exercise room and a game room They offer breakfast as well My boyfriend and I got a king suite with a jacuzzi and it was better than we expected The room was huge! We walked in and there was a bathroom, a couch, kitchen area, the jacuzzi and a TV The couch pulled out into a bed Then when you walk around the corner it’s like a whole other room!!! The king sized bed was super comfy, we had a TV, and there was a whole other bathroom area! We paid less than $200 for this room and I think that it was well worth it We will definitely be staying here again

Jamie Randall

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone We spilled a juice and wiped it up with a white towel We were charged $100 for the towel

When we called and spoke to Katelyn the manager she was absolutely no help Tried saying the room was trashed at first then told us it was a mistake and she had the wrong room My $100 charge was for 1 towel She was rude and absolutely no help I am taking the matter to corporate and will never stay there again

SlyDog

Good rates, comfortable bedThe building interior could use attentionDamaged paint, trim, doors scared and scratched

The breakfast is not greatIs that a pancake or a scrambled egg Frisbee? The sausages? amalgamated mystery meat, if they are meat?Coffee ☕️, I don’t drink it, so no commentHey, this isn’t a resterant, so you might want to stick with cereal or a bagel?
