If you need an amazing place for anything from a simple getaway to a special occasion, THIS IS THE PLACE! Kathy is one of the the nicest people that you will ever meet I thought that my boyfriend and I were just going away to a surprise location for a night alone, and it was actually for him to propose She acted totally nonchalant when we checked in, and then when we left to go to dinner, she set up our whole entire suite… candles, wine, chocolate covered strawberries, rose petals… She set up our hot tub, dimmed the lights, and turned on the fireplace

It was absolutely magical to walk into The grounds are gorgeous, she makes a delicious breakfast, and she is literally the sweetest person We already booked the same night next year to celebrate our engagement date You will not be disappointed!

The room was beautiful and comfortable with minor issues However, our stay here started off poorly when we attempted to check in and the front desk staff told us our room wasn’t ready and walked away before saying anything further while we waited (check in was at 4pm, we arrived at 4:15) Another issue we ran into was that the next morning we went down for breakfast about 9:25am

We grabbed food and not thirty seconds after we sat down, staff began breaking down the breakfast set up before it seemed all guests were able to get food My partner was hoping to grab a bagel, but she was not able to Additionally, the single most important reason that I selected this hotel was that it had a hot tub However, staff chose to clean the hot tub not before 10am when the pool opened, but at 10am so it was unable to be used before we had to check out Much of the stay felt cheap and as if amenities were limited due to it being a weekday However, we paid for our stay and expected access to the amenities Will probably not stay here ever again

Tonya Canady

The rooms were comfortable My sheets had a couple of stains on them and the rooms are on the smaller side The front desk was not very clear when I asked for directions so I had to navigate a bit off the path before finding my destination

The complementary breakfast was okay, but not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options Walmart is across the street so that is a plus for buying things that you may need There are fast food restaurants that surround the hotel as well as a wine store and a shopping center

Shonita Joshi

The hotel is decent, the technology and space is old, no toaster in the kitchen & the gym & pool are small The problem however is how RUDE the staff is- especially the manager of the hotel, CathyWe were on a long term stay for work (a period of 9 months but we had to cut it short & leave after 3 months) because of the micro-aggressions particularly towards me, a person of color

At breakfast while I waited in the lobby, a member of the staff came up and said “are you waiting for someone?” and I told her I was waiting for my husband & she said, “can’t you wait in your room?” I was shocked I asked her if it wasn’t okay for me to be there & she said “No, it’s okay But I have to vacuum here” WOW And this person greeted those around me with a ‘hello’ & ‘good morning!’ A few smaller things were said but I decided not to pay attention to itBut this incident below forced us to leave: my husband and I walked into the banquet hall on a quiet Sunday evening – it was open & not in use We were filming a quick video about soccer & couldn’t find a good spot anywhere else & it was raining outside A minute into the video & the front desk person walked in & asked us to “get out” He said it was a paid space and we could not use it without permission We immediately apologized, we had no idea but also having lived there three months they knew us and we thought they would communicate more politely We asked the staff member why he was being so rude when we had no trouble admitting our fault and he said “I was told that you are creating a nuisance and that was a miscommunication That’s why I came in hot” And he didn’t apologize, only justified his rudeness We left it at thatThe next day we were sent emails from the management stating that it was brought to their attention “that a situation happened in our event space” So I went to the manager’s office hoping that she could hear our side of the story because there seemed to be some miscommunication When I told her that I found the staff member and the email rude she said “YOU DON’T THINK WHAT YOU DID WAS RUDE? YOU USED A SPACE WITHOUT PERMISSION I’VE WORKED HERE LONG ENOUGH AND I CONSIDER THIS MY HOUSE YOU DON’T THINK IT’S RUDE TO WALK INTO SOMEONE’S HOUSE AND USE A SPACE YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO?”… I mean… Just… wowThe difference between a ‘mistake’ vs ‘rudeness’ seemed to elude her I understand supporting your staff but as a manager you want to placate both parties? Also, this is not her house I pay to be there And if you’re the “host” then you don’t ask your guests to “get out” So I didn’t think there was a point in talking any further and told her, “I guess then it’s better we leave” to which she replied “YES, I DON’T THINK THIS WAS A GOOD FIT”I cried As a person of color that stung deeply -the choice of words She said we weren’t a good fit because we used an open, unused banquet hall space for less than 60 seconds? And when she saw me cry she passed a box of tissues- no apologyThe Hyatt desperately needs to train their staff in basic hospitality and while humanity and decency cannot be taught, a training in RACE RELATIONS might help to some effortI will never come back I will never recommend anyone to itIf you have to stay here, it’s understandable Some of the staff members are kinder- Lauren, Judy, Jackie- stick with them You’ll be in good handsIf you’re expecting good service and kindness, I’d suggest you go to the residence inn or other hotels nearby They are MUCH BETTER and definitely won’t make you feel like you dont “fit in their space”

Perfect for our family traveling with a high maintenance toddler! Pool was excellent, always open and almost always empty The free breakfast was great! We didn’t realize until halfway during our trip that there’s a bonfire and a grill outside that you can use whenever you want! There was even a laundry space where we were able to wash all our clothes before returning home It was an awesome stay we didn’t want to leave!

Patti Cato

Wonderful staff, clean spacious rooms, lots of nearby places to shop, eat, get groceries, get sweet treats Loved having the options available to cook in the kitchen that was in our room, order delivery or go out Very pet friendly, my pups have been pouting since we left because of all the missed attention the staff gave them

If your staying in the area for a short time or for longer term this is a great place to stay Tell them Brutus and Rosie miss them already

Robert Papp

First off the location got three stars because of the area The hotel is fairly close to Amtrak and Metro-North Poughkeepsie station, and the walkway over the Hudson The hotel itself was beautiful, service was wonderful, breakfast was lovely

Rooms were nice and cool air conditioner worked great The entire staff was friendly and helpful greeted with a smile always The lobby also has a very nice bar good atmosphere Good drinks

Nancy Singh

Although aesthetically pleasing it lacks basic amenities One bar of soap for a shower and sink; remote did not work for TV, thermostat was not working, no maintenance on shift to fix was told there is an extra blanket; hotel bar was not open at all The front desk people tried to do the best they can but given the lack of a maintenance person and bar staff they could only do so much

When we travel we prefer Bed & Breakfasts over hotels and we were SO lucky to stay at Inn the Woods this past Friday We had the Tree Tops Suite and it was a beautiful home away from homeWe had a full suite with a couch, lounge chair and table with chairs

The king sized bed was so comfortable and we slept so soundly that night There were floor to ceiling windows overlooking beautiful scenery Every detail was included There were robes in the bathroom, special towels if you use make up, a refrigerator with water, a selection of coffee, tea and hot chocolate There were even games! The next morning Harry our host served a delicious breakfast of fruit salad, a scone and an omelet with herbed cheese And he makes his own special blend of coffee which was delicious He also gave restaurant recommendations for that night and definitely steered us in the right directionIf you are looking for a cozy place to stay with great atmosphere Inn the Woods is your place Thanks Harry!

Want a cozy, serene getaway without spending a fortune? This is it The location is perfect, tucked away on a gorgeous rocky wooded hillside, yet close to Hyde Park and local destinations We stayed in the upstairs suite, with wraparound views of the trees and brook; it’s spacious and comfortable and has everything you need to just relax and enjoy

There are decks and outdoor spaces to sit and read or just take in the sceneryHarry and Valarie could not have been more gracious: we had to change our schedule at the last minute and they went out of their way to accommodate our late departure Harry’s breakfasts are just right: lots of homemade and local ingredients, freshly prepared A Hudson Valley gem!

Sal DeFranco

This is an Inn unlike any on earthThe peace and tranquil quiet, subtle scent of woods upon the air, and panoramic views of surrounding woods all come together to make for a relaxing, breathtaking, cozy, spacious getaway The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and sleep came instantly for me, and I never fall asleep anywhere without taking significant time and effort

That is saying something!Harry could not have been a better host, painstakingly outlining all of the instructions and details of the room, with the most amazing personality and kind warmth of any innkeeper we’ve metWe have been to dozens of Bed and Breakfasts all over the country, and this easily ranks among the bestInn the Woods is the only place to consider for your needs when looking for a peaceful, quiet, beautiful, romantic, and cozy place to get away from it all, right in Hyde Park NYWe will be back, without question

This review is long overdue but my husband and I got married last July at Hasbrouck House and had the most amazing wedding weekend we ever could have imagined We cannot thank Kayleigh and the team enough for all their hard work and also their willingness to work with us and rescheduling twice due to Covid We have stayed at Hasbrouck now multiple times and have absolutely loved it each and every time

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is amazing! Shout out to Mauricio! We can’t wait to go back!

K Fraser

My wife and I spent 2 nights celebrating our first anniversary The room was clean and spacious The staff was very nice and attentive

The food at the onsite restaurant was delicious We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility as well as the game room in the basement We could have played pool or the classic video games like Frogger or Mr Do all night We are definitely looking forward to our next trip

Madeline Montgomery

We stayed for a weekend in winter and had a wonderful time Even though the weather was gloomy, we were able to occupy ourselves in the game room with darts, pool, and arcade games, chill by the fire with board games and wine, and enjoy the remarkable restaurant in the evening and breakfast spread in morning We loved being able to walk to the lake and enjoy the nightly bonfire

The staff made us feel welcome and provided us with every need – smores kits, a flower vase, glasses for wine – you name it I would highly recommend visiting and can’t wait to go back!

We had a great time at the Watergrasshill Bed & Breakfast The B&B is beautiful – it maintains a classic farmhouse B&B feel but also has many nice modern updates We stayed in the lovely Fern Room with beautiful sunset views

They were accommodating and friendly staff Our rooms were ready ahead of time, which was great because we were unexpectedly staying the night due to weather that kept us from going home on timeThe elevator is oddly placed, which feels very inconvenient and a little creepy

We went to stay there for a wedding over the weekend The room we had was newly renovated and was very clean Very nice shower with glass doors, not a shower curtain

The bed was firm and AC worked perfectly! The lobby was nice with comfortable seating, tv screens, fire place and a view of their green space/garden(?)They didn’t have the restaurant available but had snacks and microwaveable food There are a lot of restaurants in the area for takeout or delivery Would definitely stay there again!

The reception staff was fantastic, very welcoming and even got us an early check-in The room itself was tidy, clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was fabulous However, very, very, very thin walls

I could here our neighbours conversations and was woken up early by them after attending a wedding! Also, was disappointed that they did not come to make the beds during our stay or carry out any cleaning of the roomThe location is fine, as with a lot of America it would have been better to have a car but Ubers did work thereIt was a basic hotel, there is one cafe that is only open for breakfast but there is a small shop and there are places to eat in the neighbouring areasFor the price I would have expected a little more, but was an OK stay and there were definitely no showstoppers

Platinum Elite Marriott member here, which means we’ve been to a lot of these Well, this one wasn’t great The walls are pretty thin here, more so than any hotel I’ve been to before

We woke up to some guys having a conversation next door What really frustrated us was the night before when we ordered a blanket for the sofa bed The bed hasn’t been made inside the sofa, which was a first for us We called down and asked for one, but an hour passed and nothing The main bed felt like an old mattress with a silly-thick mattress cover on it Then, I was greeted by a cantaloupe fruit cup for $750 the next morning Around 9AM housekeeping knocked on our door asking when we were leaving We didn’t waste time doing so!

My boyfriend and I booked a room here last minute, and from the moment I spoke with Shirley, the owner, on the phone, she was sweet and warm as can be The only room they had left to book for the evening was “their best room,” she said, which was the Magnolia Room It was definitely the best! With a nearly completely panoramic view of the Hudson River Valley from either the enclosed deck (which is exclusive to the room), or the outside deck (which is public, but accessible from the enclosed deck)

Both Shirley and her inn-keeping partner Charlie were so sweet yet professional, and everything about our stay there was all we wanted it to be We’ll definitely be regulars from now on! 🙂

Ok this hotel is great, NOT

there is a swimming pool, but no water in it There is a weight room, but if you just want to maintain the weights are too heavy There is a fire pit But you can’t use that after 10:00 Not you can use it just be respectful of others sleeping No use after 10 They still have a bag breakfast Yeah a bagel cream cheese and butter They still have dried cereal There is coffee too But it is located just off the highway

What a dump The pool was out of order, although apparently one could get a pass from the front desk for a gym/pool “down the street”; we didn’t have time to leave the hotel to go to a poolThe breakfast was super abysmal: bagels, muffins, cereals, milk, juice, coffee

There was only regular, half and half, and whole fat milk No low fat, no lactose free, no non-dairy The bagels and muffins came individually wrapped in cling wrap, then inside a paper bag that was stabled shut Additionally the bagel bags had two little tubs of butter and a tub of creme cheese in it, forcing those to go to waste for anybody who doesn’t eat/want those things Excessive packaging, forced wasted food and no dairy-free options; what is this, the 1990’s?

Great location and Marriott property Plenty of places within 10 minutes of this hotelFirst and most important, it’s not a newer property so don’t expect all the sparkles and fancy shiny stuff

It’s still a great Marriott property thoughThe biggest con is the property is older The rooms are smaller and somewhat clunky as the hotel tried shoving larger furniture items into the smaller rooms rather than optimizing the room That large couch in the picture looks cool but there’s no back support if you just want to sit in it and watch a moviePros are that the staff is really nice including the maintenance team The breakfast area in the morning is great considering what other hotels are offering during Covid times Be warned though as there’s slim pickings on breakfast options if the hotel is at max capacityWe had a leaky sprinkler in our room during the stay The maintenance team was nothing but accommodating and eventually ended up changing our room so they could fix the issueI’d definitely stay here again though
