The Hyatt always takes great care of us and this location was no exception! Absolutely stunning views of the bridge and river The balconies aren’t quite deep enough to sit out on, but the weather was cool so we sat just inside the open slider and thoroughly enjoyed watching the cargo ships, tugboats and ferries Lots of birds too – cormorants, gulls, grackles and even a bald eagle! And dolphins every night at sunset – I had no idea they came so far inland! The front desk staff were welcoming and so helpful

The valet employees were exceptional, always so quick and kind and we loved being able to pick our car up on the parking level and not deal with the busy traffic out front The women at the Express restaurant were lovely as well All around a fantastic trip! We felt very safe here and loved how clean everything was If we weren’t still in this darn pandemic, I would’ve spent more time in the lobby and bar as they had great views too The only thing we were missing was a microwave, but we didn’t really need one with all the options they had available Thank you, Hyatt Regency Savannah!

This hotel is an excellent value in the historic district at a prime location A beautiful modern hotel on the river with views of river traffic It’s downstream from the busy container ship port-not scenic but interesting

Summer rates will soar with good reason so visit in the winter and enjoy the spring like temperatures- much better than the heat later in the year Only downside is the cost to park-valet- but considering the service intensity it’s not unreasonable at $38 daily I paid one night when I arrive very late and changed parking to the city garage a short distance across Bay St on Whittaker-$16 daily Easy to use I plan to return in a few years and may try one of the historic B&B’s as a contrast The historic district of Savannah is one of the best destinations in the country- beauty, charm, historical interest and tons to do This hotel is perfect for a first visit

Great hotel Friendly staff Very clean

The rooms were quiet, (except when the guy decided to play his trumpet on the riverwalk You could hear it on the six floor, but running the fan helped to drown him out) We paid for a river view, and it was worth every penny! Moon River was inspired here! Would definitely recommend (View from our hotel room)

We Stayed in the Hotel for a night The room was very clean and spacious The best part was it had hardwood floor and was not fully carpeted, which i feel gave it a more hygenic feel

The view of the river was great the staff was nice and helpful They gave us a self guided walking tour map which we did and found it to be very convenient Eateries are walking distance and so are all the historic tourist spots Great stay, would love to go back!

ME Armentrout

Crazy great! Arrived and greeted promptly The hotel staff are very accommodating and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcomed Room is absolutely beautiful, extraordinarily clean and well stocked with the essentials

Robes, slippers, dirty clothes bag, steamer, hair dryer, fully stocked fridge, etc all included Nice touches to the room like Netflix on the TV, automatic lights in closets/cabinets, and a nice sectional for lounging We will definitely be returning!!

Love, Love, Love this hotel Stayed here about two weeks ago From beginning to end the staff was amazing and seem genuinely glad to be at work

I thought it was a nice touch that some of the team wore a Saint Julian pin (Saint of Hospitality) The rooftop experience is called Julian tying it all together The pool and cabanas were amazing! A nice casual walk gets you to the main section of River walk or you can take the water shuttle(complimentary)right next door They also have complimentary bicycles and the Savannah Dot trolley picks you up less than 100 feet away If you want to experience Savannah at it’s best and not necessarily stay in the tourist area, you’ve found your hotel!!

First time staying in Homewood Suites and extremely happy This property is conveniently located to historic Savannah and right on the river Even if you don’t have a water view room, the rooftop bar has a great view

The rooms were spacious and our bedroom even had a ceiling fan which is what we are used to at home Included breakfast was nothing elaborate but was good and helped keep the travel expenses under control Only valet parking is available but it was convenient and the valet staff was very nice There is some road noise during the day but not at night when trying to sleep Definitely would stay at this property again!

My husbands and my overall experience at the hotel was great because it’s in Savannah! Conveniently located, close to a lot of great restaurants, very knowledgeable staff, great rooftop view of the river I give the hotel three stars because we did not receive the king bed we originally booked and were in a queen bed Also, when requested to change rooms, we could not change that evening and minimal effort was made by the hotel manager to change rooms and we ended up staying in the same room our entire stay

She offered to “call our room” but gave off the impression was sincerely the “least” she could do (Who waits by their hotel room phone? That’s why we have smartphones) As well as the pool area was not well kept water wise, creating a corner of hair and grime in the corner The pool was warm because the heated pool feature was not turned off during a very hot week in June (One day was real feel of 114) So yes, it’s a good hotel, the rest of the staff did do well, the valet works SUPER hard to be efficient, knowledgeable and welcoming There are shining employees at this location and great rooftop service for drinks and food I would come back and hopefully next time it will be running better after coming out of a pandemic

Sharna Rozin

We booked a regular room but were assigned an ADA-accessible room We went back to the front desk to say we didn’t feel right about taking this type of room when we are able-bodied The clerk was rude, rolled his eyes at us, and said the hotel was full, that was all they had

Yet he offered us a larger room for a substantial additional fee Were they full or not full? He acted like we were intruding on his time and wanted us to just go away The housekeeping staff needs training as well The bed was made up with the mattress cover as the top sheet Who does that? I tried reaching the manager 8 times after our stay I left messages each time and never got a return call Unacceptable The breakfast was fair and the staff in the dining room was very nice The valet parking was very expensive I know we could have made a much better choice in hotels Hilton was a disappointment

I went to this location a few months ago on a work trip and never made a shout out to the River Street Inn’s hospitality For a building with such history/age you could tell the workers took pride in keeping the place clean, functional, and fun The staff were extremely helpful on giving great food recommendations and the valet service was prompt and nice

The gym was quaint, but had everything a person could need to stay in shape The beds were comfortable and the showers had great water pressure and the water heater allowed for the showers to get super hot I would give them a 6 stars out of 5 if that was possible I look forward to returning back in the near future

This place is GORGEOUS and so full of character My husband, myself, and our two young daughters all stayed here from Saturday-Monday for a gymnastics competition The hotel was extremely clean, the staff on all levels was fantastic from start to finish and super accommodating

Each room is slightly different than the next, and the river views are gorgeous The barges passing by felt like they were so close! The one thing I will note is that if you’re staying over the weekend on the side facing the river, prepare for some potential noise Saturday night, there were some really cool cars down on river street (sting ray type cars) but they had their music on FULL BLAST You could hear it through everything, and the hotel does not have ear plugs on hand Thankfully, it ended somewhere around 10-1015 which is honestly reasonable, but if you have super young kids that go to bed early, it could be an issue for you Sunday night, all was quiet, so it seems to just be a weekend thing (we were also there the weekend before St Patty’s day so things are starting to pick up down there) I did not take a star off of my review for that because I didn’t feel it was fair to dock the hotel’s review over something they have ZERO control over I just wanted to mention it so folks are aware in case that’s an issue for youI always like to mention that I wasn’t solicited to write this review, and I’m not receiving anything for writing this review My opinions and thoughts are genuine and not driven by anything other than wanting to share my experience at a great place

Sent my wife to Savannah for a long relaxing weekend, reserving her a room in the River Street Inn They told her they had a great room on the top floor – but it turns out they were dumping a room on her The utility closet in the hall was so loud – turning on with a racket (not normal sounds) every 5 minutes all day and night

When she told the front desk (a very surly woman), she said they would fix it – nothing they did changed anything When she went back and said it was still happening, they told her they didn’t hear it – so she played them the recording of it she made on her phone She asked for a different room – the surly woman said they were bookedIt is clear that someone had been moved out of that room before she checked in and they dumped her in there So far the hotel staff has been unhelpful, disrespectful and surly We would never go back again – we’ve stayed in Savannah many many times and always had great experiences This was more than a disappointment – for the prices they charge, they could at least provide a room superior to a Motel 6UPDATE: A new employee got my wife moved for her final night of her stay Thank goodness Today, I heard from the manager Joseph offering a generous credit for the two nights of disruptions So kudos to the manager for offering to take care of the situation, even after the fact

Once you find the hotel it is great Street signage in Savannah isn’t always the best It has a fantastic location on the River Walk

The rooms are fun and well maintained The people at the hotel are friendly and helpful The reason for 4 stars on service is the bad experience at breakfast the last day The waitress was by herself Based on how she worked she is relatively inexperienced She would fill the water and then disappear before bringing coffee, only to disappear again to get cream The service was extremely slow We waited a long time for coffee Meanwhile the hostess played on her phone while waiting for customers It took over an hour for a bowl of berries and a slice of coffee cake I appreciate there are labor shortages, the hostess and manager could have assisted

Nickname unavailable

The temperature in our room was set to 76 degrees, but the registered 71 degrees Hall way is freezing so we put blanket under door, but to no avail Noise from neighboring room was inappropriate at 12:15 am

Balcony was dirty and disgusting! We were upgraded to river view due to points! Tried to call guest services, but phone in room is broken Tried on cell to contact, but kept ringing and ringing! Rooftop bar was dirty and noisy, nothing like the picture on website! Eat downstairs and was outstanding having grits and shrimp and salmon Straighten up Marriott!

Wish I could leave six stars! What a great experience Unexpected stay but as soon as Cedric & Jessica shared their hospitality and exuberance I knew I had made the right last minute choice Everything was nice and good quality without being pretentious

Courtney was great at breakfast and I don’t even want to leaveWell worth it!

The beds were comfortable and the rooms and hallways quiet Slept well Beautiful river view

Staff were friendly Some customer focus is lacking from management The Starbucks was too small and could not support the demands of long lines of customers That was frustrating The hotel should just provide free coffee in the lobby like so many other hotels do In addition there were no vending machines and only one gift shop to provide drinks and snacks, when it was closed at 10 pm you couldn’t get anything at all to eat or drink, no room service The main restaurant was only fair it was typical with average quality hotel priced food We attended an outdoor wedding reception the setting was lovely , the catered food was better than the restaurant The valet parking/bell staff were excellentThere was no cleaning service for the rooms you had to request maid service and call the desk if you ran out of anything That was a post covid shocker to me after many years of traveling and having certain minimal / routine expectations of hotels

Lacey Frownfelter

My husband and I were so disappointed with our stay We paid $750 for 2 nights in an outdated room with an odor, stains on the sheets and walls, and minimal amenities The view of the river was nice, but it was blocked by a construction barge with a crane

We expected so much better, but you’re really just paying for the location and the brand On the positive side, the few staff we interacted with were very pleasant and welcoming, and I appreciated that they were all wearing masks But I definitely would not stay here again

Brad Mase

Honestly, my wife and I stay was great The room was clean and spacious The ferry was always on time, the front desk staff was amazing

They were very knowledgeable of everything going on The ONLY downfall for our stay was the dance competition crowd The kids were running all through the hotel with no supervision from parents The pool was overly crowded, always Couldn’t really enjoy the poolside vibe because all the kids But that didn’t bother me to the point where my stay was interrupted

Bluegreen sales people the minute you get the phone call the staff was rude The sales person was nice, but what the tend to leave out is maintenance fees of $811 a year I told them about the rude staff and if they wanted to sell a product the customer is always right and they said they would make it right by me

Yeah that did not happen they said good by to me right then

K

Unfortunately this 2/5 review has nothing to do with the quality of room or service, and everything to do with the Bluegreen sales women Upon arriving, 3 sales women began asking us what the name on our reservation was and if we were interested in a sales pitch regarding timeshares/Bluegreen Both my husband and I politely refused

I personally had to say NO 4 different times I am firm about saying “no thank you” and yet, we were asked 4 different times in 4 different ways- we were offered a $100 gift card, free vacation, etc etc to attend one of their talks Although I said no (without reason because I do not need to give one), then I explained we’re only in Savannah for 2 days and that’s why, then one of the saleswomen said she’ll schedule me for “8:30pm tomorrow night” to attend a sales pitch because “it’s only an hour” I said no once more All of this took place while waiting for the elevatorThis was irritating, frustrating, and entirely unnecessary when we just arrived after driving hours on the road to get there We have never received such pressure at any other Bluegreen location (we’ve attended the Gatlinburg, Orlando, and Aruba locations as well) When my husband had to go back downstairs since our room keys weren’t working, he was approached by the same saleswoman who began to ask him if he used “bonus points” for the reservation and if he was an “authorized user” because she believed we weren’t really allowed to stay here The front desk person quietly apologized for this woman’s behavior, but it was still completely unacceptable The room itself was very nice, the location was prime, and the rest of the stay we were unbothered but to start the trip out this way- all I can say is sheeeeeeesh I doubt we will be back as a result If people say no once, then accept that If you need clarification, then fine- one more no But 4 times? It’s a shame and a slap in the face to females everywhere that a woman didn’t understand the word no Please work on these aggressive and distasteful sale tactics moving forward

Cindy Burgess

Everyone was very helpful and so sweet from Checking in to parkingI did not catch the parking ladies name, I believe she was over parking, she seen us waiting on our ride and she came over and was so sweet she gave our family member with special needs a snack and water She just came right up to us like family, it was very nice

Bluegreen has always been good to me!! But this time they showed me another side of them So grateful!!

I am very impressed by this place! It was a beautiful hotel and I will mostly definitely go back It has a very comfortable and welcoming feel to it I did mention a few things to the lady at the counter about the cleanliness of the bathroom and the toilet running all night, but I still think this place deserves five stars

I hope they can use my feedback to better serve their guest Also if anyone from the hotel sees the post, you guys need some benches outside near the front door 😁 Thanks for the great stay My bill was $287 (I got snacks added to my room)

This hotel now makes the River area! It is super clean and the service is wonderful The art makes me think this should be one of Marriott’s Autograph properties There is art everywhere

Want to make a special call out to Heather at the front desk She added the extra touch of making you fell good when walking in the front doors Carolyn at Stone and Webster was top notch, and it was her second day on the job! We also had a wonderful server at the Baobab but didn’t get her name The Tamarind Martini is delicious and we returned for 1 every night of our stayOur room was in the lovely (and quiet) Music Building and had floor to ceiling windows so we could watch the huge ships going up and down the River

Came here on a Saturday afternoon during our weekend trip in Savannah I heard a lot about the area and wanted to check it out for myself The Staff of this place was very warm welcoming and the lobby was very nice

The beautiful rocks, artifacts, and statues were so amazing to look at A nice day trip spot to visit with the family to cool down and observe the beautiful gems

Tom Ogletree

The Marriott property is absolutely beautiful and amazing Keeping the structure of a building and putting a showplace inside was no small feat I’m sure They have exhibits of fossils and huge geological gems there

It’s simply stunning, a real boon to the west end of the Savannah river front Having grown up here, I’m even more proud of the investment that JW Marriott has placed in my city The roof top bar is spectacular

I will start by saying I booked this hotel based solely on location and the fact it was a Hilton I went back and read reviews and was nervous was to what we would experience One I read was that they expected more, and we met a man in the hallway who said the same thing

Let me just say we had the best stay here I have no idea what the other people who wrote reviews were talking about I absolutely loved the old wood floors in the room and the exposed brick Our king size bed was the most comfortable I’ve experienced in a hotel room The room was clean, the bathroom beautiful and updated The hotel smelled clean (response to a different review) The location was perfect The staff friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us We paid a flat $39 valet fee We didn’t use our car so I don’t know if they charge more if you use their service more If they did I wouldn’t have minded since they had to run several blocks to the parking garage to retrieve our car We will be back for sure Thank you Hilton and Cotton Sail for making our romantic weekend away all we hoped for

I booked this hotel under the false pretense that it was an extravagant 4-star hotel How could any hotel keep 4 stars when NONE of the rooms have a microwave OR mini fridge Thank God we only stayed one night, so our food and beverages didn’t completely ruin

They don’t even have a microwave in the lobby or anywhere They do have restaurants on the roof (I wouldn’t even be able to reheat leftovers, which is a rip off AND a health risk), but everything is way overpriced, of course, because they have a breathtaking view of the river up there (The only thing this hotel truly has going for it by the way) They have mandatory valet parking, which seems nice, but they keep your keys during the whole stay, which means I didn’t have access to my vehicle unless they let me have access, which causes my anxiety to be terrible Not to mention, they charge you $39 for this service that I didn’t even want in the first place When we were checking in, it took a while for the system to audit, forcing us to wait They were nice enough to give us free complimentary water bottles, but we couldn’t keep them cold anyway since they don’t have refrigerators I should have done more research before booking this room Surely ANY other hotels would be better than this one, and more convenient They trick you into booking with photos of nice rooms, and the view on their website

The sheets were so itchy and dirty The old wooden floors were beautiful but dirty and sticky There was a band playing until at least midnight below us, which was actually the best part of our stay falling asleep to music

The location u is s fantastic and other than not answering the front desk phone the staff were very helpful We lived in Savannah for 5 years and come back often We will definitely be staying next door at the Bohemian for our future trips since it’s superior in every way We thought we’d take a chance on a new place and it wasn’t good An absolute must for any decent place to rest is a clean room and decent sheets

Cons – At check-in the front desk staff began complaining to us how bad things are at DeSoto and the staffing shortage They were right! Staff didn’t know who had what room, put us in wrong room, and couldn’t get us room we reserved We requested champagne be delivered upon arrival, and it was delivered to someone else! Coffee bar staff – great service first morning, but day after staff was too busy chatting amongst themselves, and were not the least bit concerned several customers were waiting to order

Room could have been cleaner, and had only 1 roll of toilet paper for several people in room Called Housekeeping and no one picked up after 2-3 minutes Had to go to front desk ourselves to retrieve toilet paper Good luck with the safe! Took several tries to lock and open every day, but glad we got it locked after reading prior reviewsPros – Beautiful lobby, great location and bar/patio/valet staff were awesome Becky tried helping with room and champagne – we received champagne following day but ended up in room we did not request because someone else had already checked in to room
