The shuttle service was great The drivers were polite The room our carpet was filthy and or stained

We kept our shoes on There was still coffee in the pot fromThe last people It I feel it was a &80 room not what we paid It was too much money for as dirty as it was The staff was polite The restaurant was good Great location

Bill Wimsett

A friend and I had lunch on the patio I love that space! The service and food was first rateThe only concern is that the patio is on a busy corner

There’s road and building construction within a few blocks so it can get a little noisy with traffic I’d encourage the owners to plant more trees around the patio to help mitigate the noiseI know this is a temporary problemI’ve eaten there many times and have had a good experience every time

Laura Knight

Our room was decorated with a heavily stained, threadbare chair, as well as a chair from circa 1980 The carpet needs to be replaced which probably was the main contributor to the musty smell in the air The phone was covered in a layer of dust

I took a cool shower as the water never got to warm let alone hot Don’t waste your time or money here

You cannot find a better hotel in Rochester than Homewood suites We chose the suite with the extra bedroom, and it was terrific When one wanted to sleep and the other one did not, they can go to the bedroom and shut the door

The place was very clean, and the service was terrific I have stayed in about a dozen hotels in Rochester and this is my favorite The front desk employee was better than most Her name was Mollie She helped us with everything Very personable and friendly The breakfast was good with a wide variety and the reception on Wednesday was great I will always use this hotel Everything is within walking distance as far as the hospital, food, coffee and stores You can’t beat this place

Dr Deb

Make sure you know if you are at Mayo main clinic That is a mile away There is a free hotel shuttle to the clinic

I have no complaints about the hotel The bed was very comfortable, the water pressure was strong There was plenty of hot water There is a tiny kitchen It was very quiet I never heard another guest I don’t think there was breakfast, but hotel breakfasts are not worth it anyhow and I don’t care to navigate around people grabbing food in the morning There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants on same block The red cow is across the street I suggest that for lunch or dinner You can walk north for 1/4 mile and hit an endless pathway around lakesNo, this is not a fancy hotel, but it isn’t expensive either I rate hotels based on price For the price I received what is most important to me; clean, quiet, great bed, good shower If you want to be treated like a king with a spectacular view and someone sweeping behind you this isn’t the place

Judi Rinker

The description of the room from the hotel website “there is an additional work table and chair, separate from the dining area table” Not only is there no dining area table, there is only one chair in the room; an office chair Nice kitchen, but nowhere to eat

We chose this hotel specifically so we could prepare and eat our own meal in our room after surgery It kind of defeats the purpose of having a kitchen if there’s no place to eat Also, not one USB port in the entire room

It was okay Normally Microtel has very nice rooms with no complaints from me However, our room at this particular hotel had a strange outlet hanging above the small TV that I can only presume is not up to code, a leak from the ceiling onto the day bed from the upstairs air conditioner and a bed light that didn’t work until it decided to turn on by itself at 10:00 PM, waking us up

However it was a very clean room, (sorry, we sort of set up shop before I took pictures) comfy beds and the air conditioner, though very loud was able to handle the high humidity and 97 degree outdoor temperaturesWould I recommend it? Yes, Microtel is usually very good, and customer service is very good It suited our purposes while visiting the Mayo Clinic for surgery I am going to say this particular branch, or room was an exception to the normally excellent rooms I have stayed in the past

BEWARE!! I stayed here while my wife had major surgery at Mayo The reviews seemed fine To summarize, on the third night (of a week long reservation) I returned from Mayo to find that hotel staff had touched and removed all of my personal belongings, took them out of the room, and placed them behind the front desk

I was told their system showed me as a one night stay and that they attempted to contact me for clarification, but since I wasn’t able to be reached they removed my items I showed them my phone (which showed no calls from the hotel as well as my reservation # showing I had a 7 night reservation The manager refused to come in and address the issue that evening They did provide me with another room and gave me an excuse of an audit that messed up all of the reservations All of my cold items were left out all day so they were ruined I think the grossest thing is that they had to touch all of my personal items to bag them up because obviously i had everything spread out in the room as I was set to stay for a week Someone would have had to grab my underwear from a drawer and grab my toothbrush to put it into a bag Those are just quick examples but imagine if someone did that to your items! The next day I again asked to speak to the manager I was told he wasn’t available The front desk manager then blamed ME for the mistake I He said I should’ve made a longer reservation than one day I went to show him my reservation email and he blew it off and said he didn’t care never have had anything like this ever happen to me I would caution all of who think “it can never happen to me” … are you willing to take that chance with this hotel? There are so many other hotels near Mayo Clinic I would NEVER Recommend anyone staying here If you have a loved one who is undergoing a procedure at Mayo the last thing you need is a hotel who touches your personal items, removes your items from your room, and then refuses to respond to you

Caitlin Pierce

Pros: AC worked great, the room was overall clean, mini fridge worked well, breakfast had lots of options and was good, friendly staff working and competitive pricesCons: bed was super hard, there was water dripping from a light over the window seat (I assume from the AC in the room above us), my sisters room smelled strongly of mold, and the carpets needs shampooed – they had lots of stains / dirt (although not the worst I have ever seen at a hotel)Overall- I would stay there again for the price

Best place we’ve stayed at by far when we have to visit Mayo! Bed is actually comfortable for a change! Location wasn’t bad, located by a small bar/restaurant plus not a far drive to Mayo hospital The pool hot tub area is very nice! Kid pool has a cool slide and fountain They also have a regular pool that is heated

The place is really updated, clean, spacious so no complaints! People who work there are very nice as well

Shirley Niedert

Not as good as in our past visits Kept stepping on dog food so we obviously not vacuumed Had to bring down remote to fix low battery

Desk was much less friendly and helpful both days same people Our room had no closet to hangup coats, no bag stand to open luggage on nor bag to put dirty clothes in Had to go down and request more towels Mattresses need replaced When calling to reserve room we asked for 3 Rd floor so less noise from kids running overhead because having multiple days of tests at Mayo we needed sleep The loud running noises ended after 11 I think sometimes parents must leave their children alone because I do not know how anyone could want to allow that if they are in the same room and we love children and had five of our own Tried to set wake up call in military time it kept saving it to pm Most motels leave hot chocolate packets out but when we asked if this motel did, they did not Just very disappointed ☹️ they were much better in the past when we drive to Mayo from Iowa

We had fun staying here The waterside was more than I expected and everyone, kids & adults, enjoyed it Both the pools & the slide were closed Monday 4/19, for maintenance/repairs, which meant we couldn’t go swimming again in the morning

The included breakfast surprised us with the range of foods, from make your own waffles to biscuits and gravy to cereal and juices We will stay again if in the area!

Jack Boller

One of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed at! I booked this hotel for my wife’s visit to Mayo and it was very unsanitary! For them to put the Mayo clinic behind their name is a disgrace! Stained mattress, blood stained sheets and towels Behind the TV stand looks like years worth of dust and the drains in the bathroom are plugged/slow draining Definitely will not be staying at this Best Western location again! Would not recommend for someone with health issue’s

Tina Castro

MAYO PATIENT STAY, Front desk was amazingly wonderful I loved the location of this hotel! Room was big beautiful and very clean I have OCD so, I am extremely picky

Bed was very comfortable Very good hot breakfast every morning Nice bar/restaurant on the backside of the hotel Pool area is very big and clean The only reason I am give 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because, the hot tub wasn’t working for the 3 nights we stayed there I will be staying here every time I have to come for appointments

The rooms are dated and there were stains on the floor In the hallways there were glasses sitting outside of doors that housekeeping had to have walked by The staff was all friendly and helpful

The showers have good water pressure but the bathrooms are kinda small This isn’t a bad place to stay if you are going to Mayo since you can easily walk to the hospital and there are wheelchairs in the lobby to use

Susannah Ball

Excellent hotel for those visiting the Rochester area, especially for those who are going for the Mayo Clinic This hotel is centrally located and accessible via both the subway and skyway systems in Rochester All Mayo Clinic buildings are easily reached through these enclosed passageways making moving around the city from the hotel very easy at all times of the year

There are also many nearby restaurants that can be reached this way as well The hotel also has its own restaurant and bar for ultimate simplicity Staff is friendly and professional and willing to help Valet parking is available Mini market on site for 24/7 necessities

Erik T

Beware of predatory practices this hotel takes part in They will let you book for the concierge level rooms and show all the benefits, but when you arrive they are closed! They will happily take your extra money though! Oh and when you contact them its your fault for not reading the confirmation email they sent you, after you already booked!Room was fine, felt dirty and dated There was room service in the halls that never got picked up and for some reason all the hallways were extremely humid

There are plenty of options in downtown Rochester, so I’d suggest a Hilton

If you are a patient, looking for rest then your money will be more wisely spent elsewhere We endured pounding on the roof by roofers (& room next door by maintenance), dirt inside of the dresser, hairdryer that didn’t work, empty box of kleenex & housekeeping that walked into our room TWICE before we left

even after advising the front desk of our exact departure time For this kind of money, we could have stayed somewhere cleaner & quieter

Tom Free

Broken air conditioner in the first room I had and needed to move Bed bug infestation in the second room they gave me And yes I have pics of my body to show literally dozens of bites

Staff said they were aware We all know if they’re in one room they’re in all the rooms Staff was okay Not very friendly but not exceptionally rude either They do have pull through parking that is trailer friendly for those of us pulling something Personally I’m generally a Radisson guy but it’s extremely unlikely I’ll stay at this location again

This is truly one of the best hotels I have gotten to stay at everything is so crisp and clean all of the staff from the housekeeping to the front desk are absolutely awesome it’s so nice to have a hot breakfast in the morning and also a treat to have something in the evenings during the week The pool and hot tub are really nice as well as the awesome free laundry in washers and dryers with a really nice laundry room that makes it so nice plus is a laundry basket in each room You have a good day the rooms are different the first room we had was two queen beds with a tub shower combo I have issues with bathtubs so we switched to a king bedroom with a walk-in shower that is just huge it really helped I needed a chair to sit in to take a shower and the staff got that for me as well as a topper to make the toilet higher for me just really appreciate everything that was done for me to make my stay absolutely wonderful

I will be returning in a couple months and will definitely be staying here once again thank you so much for everything that you do

Overall, we had a good stay but there were issues First, the hotel is new and clean Very nice facility

The staff were helpful, and parking was fine Breakfast was OK and the food in the restaurant/bar was just OK Local options for food are betterTwo problems we had:1) We were in room 212, I think There was a very strong kitchen smell in the room around 4pm for an hour or two We thought the kitchen exhaust fan was piped directly into the room It was hard to bear2) The bedroom door wouldn’t close because it was blocked by the bed, which couldn’t be movedOverall, I would stay there again I would have to change rooms if that kitchen smell came back

Joe Dzienkowski

We actually haven’t stayed yet, but wanted to write my review of the customer service I received from one of their front desk workers, Heather I was calling to see if I could get our rooms adjoining for our upcoming stay I was a little confused with their being 2 hotels in one

My reservations were for the “Even” hotel where adjoining rooms were not possible Heather took time to upgrade our rooms to meet the needs of our family, and also meet our request to have them adjoining Heather made the experience effortless and she was such a pleasure to work with I am confident that our stay will be nothing short of amazing Thank you Heather for doing all you could to ensure that our stay with you will be comfortable

Loved this hotel for our stay A family member was an outpatient at Mayo Clinic This location was perfect

Rooms were very clean and had the amenities we needed (kitchenette, stove, dishwasher, couch, etc) Staff were so welcoming and personable! Parking on site is nice, but it does cost $15 per night Just a heads up Will definitely stay here again

Joseph Killeen

Stayed here for a business week and we LOVED the room! Nice new finishes and amenities! The staff was very friendly and accommodating Transportation was a breeze to local facilitiesI believe this is considered an extended stay hotel and I’ve never stayed at one of those, so we were unclear about getting towels, tea bags, dishwasher detergent, etc replaced, but we made due for 5 days just fine

Overall I’d recommend this as an exceptional value!

J T

Good location The on-site parking ramp is convenient There is a 4th floor terrace with grill as well as a patio with grill outside the main entrance

Security seems good as a key card is needed in the elevator to get to the upper guest room levels Pool and hot tub as well as a nice work out room on main level Very close to a public park Breakfast available in lobby area in the morning with good options Johnny who works in the kitchen/breakfast area was very friendly and helpful He is exactly what keeps people coming back

Nicole Looker

We had an excellent stay here the past two nights!!! When we arrived, we were a little off put by the parking situation and also where the spot was for pets to use the bathroom (across the street in a downtown area in a small park by a parking lot) When we originally booked, we called the hotel and were given some different information regarding those two items, perhaps a miscommunication, so after driving over 14 hours and realizing those things was irritating at first, but the hotel staff and accommodations more than made up for it!The bell hop staff are all very quick and thorough with everything, and so super friendly! We ordered room service a few times, and all of those experiences were super easy and delicious! The hotel itself is very clean, modern, kept up with, and anytime we were down in the lobby, the staff was cleaning Taking our dog potty was no issue at all as there is always someone at the front doors and the park is very well lit

I never once felt unsafe when taking her out! The hotel is also super quiet, so when we had our doctor appointment, our pup was not scared being left for a couple hours We felt totally safe and secure! All in all, it was an excellent stay, and we would 100% stay here again if ever in the area! We wis all Hiltons had given us this same experience!

Shannon Porter

Excellent experience with hotel overall We were in the area for the mayo clinic and brought all 5 kids with us the hotel pool and hot tub are amazing Easy access to restaurants and mayo clinic building

I had a great time visiting this Hotel! The staff was wonderful and very professional The room was very clean and well maintained and room service was on point I had the pleasure of enjoying the breakfast that they offered and it was delicious

They had a very clean pool area with lots of big fluffy towels I honestly don’t believe I can express fully in words how enjoyable and comfortable my stay was at the Home2 Suites by Hilton in Rochester MN If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would and I hope you all get a chance to experience what I did!

Virginia Slesarik

My husband had many appointments at Mayo Clinic for the past few months We chose Home 2 Suites and so glad we did! Spacious rooms with a kitchen Comfy beds with really soft sheets

Not bad here I’m not a big fan of entering from the parking garage and it’s cost an arm and a leg to park there every night Also, the on-site restaurant could be better

The people are always super nice from maids to front desk but I’m not sure why they’re so against cleaning the rooms (my last stay they didn’t ever clean it) They’ve got the check in cookie and the complementary water is Fiji!

Jason Harvey

This is the first hotel that I have stayed in that performed mid-day cleaning to the room since the pandemic REFRESHING to see hotels moving back to their standard services; finally a hotel that didn’t have old pizza boxes and garbage littered along the hall corridors Beds a little firm than most Hilton’s that I have stayed at, room was very large and clean

Parking is a bit expensive due to parking garages at $16 per day, perfect location to downtown facilities and the civic center

Lynn Whitchurch

So far everything has been great experience Got here Saturday night will be here till Wednesday Staying her since appointments at Mayo Clinic

Have to say getting a room with executive floor access a must Breakfast is good nightly Hors d’oeuvres and drinks Front desk staff was very pleasant Ed and Emily We had a car pickup from Rochester Airport Edward was so very pleasant, welcoming, friendly 😊!

The outside the hotel was very deceiving However entering the lobby it was clean and smelt very well Rooms were clean, I would give a cleanness of 8 out of 10 for cleanliness(they need to edge next to the beds and tv guide was dirty)

I was very disappointed on how hard and lumpy the beds are, sleeping on the floor was more comfortable The water pressure for the shower was amazing until it went completely cold then completely hot again Loved the way the towels were folded

Is this a joke?!?! Everything went bad on are trip, never going here again Worst Hotel in the United States Here are 3 reasons why

1 Smallest Refrigerator, they dont give a larger one2 AC was broke, they refused to fix it3 We ordered pizza, but they wouldnt let the pizza man go up the elevator, my dad cant walk, and I’m too young to go on my own, so we had to wait 30 minutes for are pizza to come up, by that time the pizza was coldI would give 0 stars if I could

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the special attention and genuine desire to accommodate our needs It seems that David and Cameron are on a mission to spoil us Also, our room is fabulous; spacious, well appointed, and very clean

It is perfectly located to access appointments at Mayo as it is located across the small street from the main building where appointments take place When we return, this is definitely where we will stay

Awesome location, right next to Mayo, one of the most prestigious hospitals in the entire world Also a great place to tour for historical sightseeing, as well as for any art enthusiasts Service is very attentive and helpful here and the rooms are breath-taking

Some come with outstanding views over Rochester This place is a great experience for the extra cost!

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice place and close walking distance to lots of places to eat Check out Newt’s right behind the hotel Great ambiance and super friendly staff

The only negative I had was that the bathroom door was a sliding style “barn door” Which is fine, but there is no lock on the bathroom door Other than that, no complaints And the check-in / check-out with the phone app was super easy

Katy at the front desk was so friendly and helpful We needed to change the room type and she helped secure an early check in for us When we arrived, she remembered talking with me and everything was seamless and easy

Thank you, Katy!!The room was clean and comfortableThe location was perfect Only a 6 minute drive to our Volleyball tournament and walkable to restaurants and the downtown area

Life After 40

My favorite thing about this hotel is the valet parking and also the shuttle service Both made my stay so much less stressful The pool was nice and warm, room was clean and location was prime

Also, I LOVED the Tap House and the fact that they offered room service! The only improvements I felt could be made are complimentary breakfast (I think they changed this because I was able to find an option when booking again for another upcoming Mayo trip), maybe not charge quite so much for parking (the extra $2 for valet is a no-brainer), softer mattresses for us disabled chronic pain guests and the chair could have been more comfortable for the same reason However, not deal breakers and I will be back for another stay soon

I had such high hopes The price was excellent at about $100, but I guess you get what you pay for This place is fine if you’re not going to need anything from staff

We booked at 7pm and arrived at 8pm, which leads me to believe that there were some unsold rooms I have sinus issues and don’t like to sleep flat and asked for two extra pillows The nice gentleman at the front desk said he’d find some, so I went down at 10pm and he said there were zero pillows not one or two extra pillows available in the whole building? every room was sold between 8pm and 10pm? no unused rooms had any pillows to be spared? UnlikelySo, staff can be friendly, breakfast can be good, room prices can be good, location can be good, pool/got tub can be adequate, and the room can be cleanbut if you sleep terribly because of an apparent shortage of two pillowsnone of that good stuff mattersIf you’re looking for a reasonably priced place to stay close to mayo and you don’t need staff to go above and beyond, you’ll be happy with this place for sure

Multiple smaller complaints about this hotel The hot water doesn’t get hot, just kind of hot The suite I was in had a 32 inch TV while others are the same conference had bigger

The internet was out for over 12 hours during my stay Lastly they’re doing construction on the roof, already limiting parking by a quarter On Thursday they contractors had moved their big lifts into the parking lot and started blocking even more off while working after 5pm Most people here are coming to the hotel at this time
