Wonderful stay! The rooms were clean and nicely decorated We had a heating issue and they made it right immediately Loved the Anniversary sweet treat as well

The Hotel is well insulated, it felt like we were the only guests Pool is warm for the cold winter and food in The Regatta pub was great Within walking distance to other great restaurants and all that Salem has to offer Highly recommend!

Kris Howes

Really enjoyed this hotel The price was good, the staff was all very accommodating, and the bar was good too The room did not have a fridge but they were quick to get us one for a small upcharge

The room was very very clean and kept well Quiet too The beds we’re comfy, the shower was good, and my lady loved the bathroom setup to accommodate makeup and getting ready for the day The hotel is in a perfect location for exploring downtown Salem, it’s right in the middle ofeverything Close to shops, bars, and tourist attractions With a large truck, the outside parking lot was great to have a spacious for parking Sorry I didn’t snap any pics of the room

Christopher Stefaniak

Great location and clean but rooms could use some updates and maintenance Nothing bad enough to ruin our stay or attempt to have addressed, but enough to make it feel like the value for the money was not there Hot water was so-so, bathroom sink drain barely opened, and air-conditioning was pretty old but working okay in our room

I would expect more for $300/night but you really pay for the central location which is very nice Beer garden next door was a great spot Service at the restaurant was slow but the food was good and reasonably priced Would return again if they did some renovations but otherwise might try another local hotel if we returned to the area

My wife and I very recently chose Cape Ann’s Marina Resort for a week long vacation stay Overall we couldn’t have asked for better accommodations Loved the setting overlooking the Annisquam River and marina docks

The property is well kept, housekeeping superb and an extremely comfortable bed We arrived late due to a flight delay and there was Gary waiting for us by name in the check-in drive He filled us in on the facilities and area in the friendliest manner The next morning after walking the docks we stopped in at the restaurant bar and General Manager Patrick welcomed us with a complimentary beverage and visited with us about anything we wanted to know about the area and then some The entire staff at the Hotel & restaurant were top notch We really hated to leave after a week as it really felt like home!

My father just got back from a fishing trip and staying here I’m writing this on his behalf WORST HOTEL OF ALL TIME

Would give zero stars if ableThe pool has a row boat with fish in it so you can’t swim in the pool “because of COVID ” The female manager said “that’s how we keep people out” Every vending machine was filled BUT ALL were unplugged Each ice machine is marked “out of order” The manager told my father the night before the bags of ice were $5 The day they got the ice at 4am to head to the fishing charter, the Security Guard unlocked the freezer, after visibly having been sleeping, and said the bags are $10 The management said later that day that she thought they were staying another night and would need more ice so charged them double and of course management refused to give them their money back She was extremely rude the day my father and his friends checked out Needless to say, my father and his 5 fishing friends will NEVER be back

Flora was a gracious host, who was very accommodating and attentive to our needs The room was very cozy and was very well decorated There were complimentary beverages in a fridge at the main entrance and breakfast was great

I will definitely choose Northy Street House over an impersonal hotel for our next trip to Salem Thank you Flora!

Rachel Kehm LaChapelle

My husband and I had to travel to Salem this past weekend unexpectedly upon the passing of his Grandmother We have been trying to stay in Bed & Breakfast locations whenever we travel I came across Northey Street House Bed and Breakfast while searching online and was immediately drawn in by the pictures but more importantly by all of the positive reviews I read

We booked the Garden Room as that room was highly reviewed and recommended It was the perfect retreat for us, we loved the private entrance, the room was very comfortable and spacious, and the view into the garden was the perfect calm we needed during a very emotional weekend We walked to dinner the first night through town and that was a really nice and easy walk Flora was incredible from the first email I sent inquiring about availability right through the entire stay Breakfast was delicious both days (and I have numerous dietary restrictions) and we enjoyed our conversation with Flora and the other guests We can’t wait to travel back and stay at Northey Street House Bed and Breakfast again!

Jason Paree

We loved our stay at Northey so much several years ago that we made sure to book it again when we returned this year This B&B is cozy, comfortable, and close to all the major sites and places It’s an easy walk to everything

Flora was very nice and accommodating and makes a great breakfast every morning! Definitely recommend Northey if you are planning your stay in Salem!

The Yankee Clipper Inn was a very warm, welcoming Bed and Breakfast Our room was beautiful and the view of the ocean was magnificent!Mike, the Manager, was very nice as well as the staff in the breakfast area They were very willing to share some of the history of the Inn itself, as well as the area local history

The breakfasts were delicious, and helped get our days started off nicelyIt was very interesting, also, to hear of some of the famous people who have stayed here, such as JFK, John Lennon and Paul Newman and his wife!I would definitely stay here again if ever in the Gloucester/Rockport area

Maire Margaret Boynton

What an amazing, quaint, homey hotel with wonderful and understanding staff My husband and I went spent a weekend away at the Yankee Clipper and it there was nothing to complain about The bed was comfortable, the hotel stayed warm despite freezing wind and cold weather

It was centrally located, and easy to get a taxi to take us to Gloucester I cannot wait to return

Terri Schumann

The Yankee Clipper Inn is a hidden jewel, a place where you feel welcomed as family while you take in the lovely Victorian interiors and the stunning water views We stayed in the Sovereign Seas room and had a third floor balcony view that beckoned to us day and night The staff was friendly and interesting: Luis at the bar, Claire at breakfast and Mike the manager were warm and available

This inn is a modern day Brigadoon, come stay here before you can’t get in You’ll thank me

Great stay at the Colonial Inn! It’s been a while since we stayed anywhere other than a hotel, and this stay reminded us how nice it is to stay at a B&B Tom, the owner, was friendly and welcoming and honestly just a genuinely nice person to chat with, who also helped us with any questions we had about the area The inn itself is lovely and very comfortable

It felt like going to stay with family Our room had 3 beds that could have slept 4 (we were only 2), so if you have kids, the room was spacious enough If you’re looking for a place to stay in the Gloucester/Rockport area, I highly recommend, as it is close to everything and you get a beautiful view of the harbor from the front porch and even your room (depending which room you book)Very lovely stay!

Kate O’Neill

Great location, non-fussy, sort of old-timey place, with a very affable, chatty owner Large, airy porch overlooks Gloucester harbor, as does Room 1, upstairs Still under some COVID-19 restrictions, so no coffee or breakfast available, but it was just a short walk down to an attractive, very hospitable coffee shop

Vexing to me: air circulation Front window was too heavy to open; two side windows, but one was sealed, it seemed, and the other opened only a few inches Window AC units had not yet been installed (early July) I departed in a bit of a hurry, and left a drawer full of clothes, which the owner kindly mailed to me upon request

My wife and I decided to take a trip to Salem, MA and we looked for accommodations in the area and found 0 availability We decided to take a chance in Gloucester, MA and sure enough, we found the perfect oasisThis hotel isn’t your ordinary hotel, but the view couldn’t be perfect

It overlooks the sea, like literally and sitting outside enjoying your coffee in the AM, hearing the waves hit the rocks is breath taking The rooms are comfortable and you feel like you are in your own cottage The AC system is by the window, easy to handle, and the pressure of the shower is incredible The main lobby is a lovely sitting area with well rounded staff and owners I had the opportunity to meet the owners and I cannot express how helpful, professional, and kind they all were during our stayI highly recommend this place, especially if you rent a car and need to get around and visit the nearby townsThank you again for a wonderful stay!

Cindy Newton

We were there in early October and enjoyed some of the most perfect weather There was a kitchenette and coffee maker in our room It was clean and had that quaint New England feel with goodies and fresh apples on the table

Each morning you could find me sitting out on the porch with a steaming cup coffee taking in the view of the ocean We had adjoining rooms with our family After a long day of taking in the sights it was nice to stretch out on our comfy beds and watch a movie on tv We suggest this location for all ages

Suzy is very welcoming and makes you feel like a long time friend Her home is charming I stayed in the harbor view room and enjoyed sitting on the roof top deck in the evening star gazing and watching the twinkling lights across the harbor

Suzy is very caring and wants to be sure you are having the best time possible I loved my stay with her

The room was nicely appointed We had a great view from the third floor deck (which was a pleasant surprise), where we sat with morning coffee overlooking the Salem Harbor On site parking was ideal

The location, although in downtown Salem, was remarkably quiet at night Bob, the owner was pleasant, helpful, and serves a great breakfast Even though we live nearby, we’d stay again for a Salem weekend

Cristina Sanchez

My friend and I fled to Bob’s in the midst of a citywide heat wave in Boston Looking for a quaint B&B and a peaceful place to rest, we stumbled upon the Morning Glory and we will be dreaming about returning for a good long while! Bob was a pleasure to deal with when making the reservation, and was so accommodating to our check in time, not to mention the room was sparkling clean upon arrival Our stay was quiet and we had many luxuries including the gorgeous rooftop, the short walk to town, and one hell of a breakfast Bob whipped up in the morning

We will be recommending this place to all of our friends and family, and absolutely returning one day when we make our way back to Salem We love Bob and the Morning Glory!

Michael Lazar

I’ve been taking my family to Gloucester every summer for years! Simply put it’s so beautiful in the summer and so much fun you almost want to keep it to yourself The Good Harbor Beach Inn has the most beautiful location of any place not only in Gloucester but on the entire North Shore They have new owners and the rooms have all been remodeled and upgraded

Not only that but they really stepped up when my son and I got into a car accident near the inn A few weeks ago I took my family for an overnight stay on a unusually hot weekend After checking into the hotel, enjoying an afternoon at the beach(it’s literally right on the beach) my son and I went to pick up dinner from a place near by Out of nowhere a bunch of kids ran a stop sign and totaled my car My son was fine but I ended up in the ER to get checked out Not only did the staff drive my wife and son to the ER to see me they picked me up and drove me back to the inn I have to say I was shaken but the entire staff treated us all like family that weekend helping us sort things out being careless They even offered the use of there cars if we need to get something One person even got con’d by my son for a ride to get ice cream from down the street We ended up having to stay an extra night while we sorted out how to get home, they gave us a free night stay and I can’t say how grateful we are When the rental car place opened Monday a staff member came on her day off to give us a ride to get a rental vehicle These people are so fantastic I wouldn’t dare stay anywhere else They treated us like family and were so comforting during a nightmare Thanks to them we managed to get home safely

Spencer Peavey

We return each year Location, location, location! I wish the owner would sink some money into upkeep, I don’t mind the dated rooms (actually enjoy the relic feel) but the courtyard, weeds, and general repair needed just screams neglect Gail is great!Shame, many of our friends we’ve met are starting to feel the same way…

Kim Lucas

LOVE this Inn Accommodating, Friendly, down to earth, hard working Staff Rooms are clean and maintained well

The inn is dated, no big amenities, No wifi However those who know, know that is of no concern The location, can not be beat, you are literally on the beach, no long lines waiting to get to one of the most popular beaches in town Evening and early mornings coffee or night caps on the courtyard with the sound of waves crashing is the best They book fast make reservations early

My husband and I look forward to coming back every year I suggest booking early because the rooms book up quickly We always stay in a top floor king room and you have a sitting area outside your room over looking the ocean If you like the sound of the ocean, you can leave your door open a crack (leaving the screen door shut) and listen all night There’s no smoking on your deck, but they offer a bench in the parking lot to smoke They also have a really nice cafe open from 7:30-11:00 daily The food is breakfast only but really good food Home made corned beef hash We Highly Suggest booking hereTammy and Dan H

The room was clean, the service was fantastic and the view was beautiful! We loved being able to sit on our balcony or go for a walk along the coast The hotel is conveniently located close to town and Good Harbour BeachKevin at the front desk was very helpful and friendly

He even went out of his way along with Steve (the maintenance guy) to assist my husband with charging his car This was a huge plus for us after having driven all the way from Toronto The homemade cookies at the front were delicious The room itself could use a bit of a refresh That being said, I’d recommend this hotel and definitely would stay here again

Jessica Gaudette

As someone who travels often near and far, I can promise you those who complained in these reviews are generally unhappy people who havent learnt to appreciate the gift of visiting a new destinationThe rooms: clean & great for the location and price the view 😍, the beds were comfortable and the bathrooms weren’t the largest but who travels to sit in the bathroom?! they had two large mirrors to get ready in front of

the rugs are not my taste but for two nights, its not ruining my tripThe hotel: it’s location couldn’t be more perfect you feel away from it all but its 10 min or less to all shops, stores and sights the pool is sparkling clean and the grounds are lovelyThe staff: WONDERFUL! So helpful, friendly and welcoming the breakfast was great, some might complain that it’s expensive and service is slow but isn’t everywhere? I can’t say enough great things about the team at Atlantic

My daughter and I came to Salem for her 30th birthday trip and spend 2 nights at the Daniels House We were in the Marion Room, on the top floor with a shared bath The shared bath wasn’t a problem, and we both loved the claw foot tub

Our room’s ceilings were only 6 ft tall, but the room itself is large and spacious so it never felt cramped or uncomfortable The queen bed was very comfortable We did take the tour of the house and we both appreciated our stay there even more after learning it’s history We loved that the house is in walking distance of so much of Salem, in our 2 days we only drove to one spot, the rest of the time we walked Perfect location! The vouchers to Red’s were appreciated and the food there is fantastic! We definitely want to stay again!

We really loved this place It was creepy and comfy It was like staying in a museum

Parking was included too We got a continental breakfast and vouchers for $10 off (per person) to go to a restaurant about a half mile away that was pretty good It would have been nice to eat at the house, but sounds like Covid has been causing problems with that One thing that worked out fine for us because no one else was staying on our floor, was that there was a “shared bathroom” Also the ceilings were low (about 6ft tall) in our room, but again that wasn’t a problem for us because we’re both under 6ftDefinitely recommended for people who are into the history of the area

My partner and I just returned from a trip up into the Northeast and stayed at The Daniels House during our time in Salem It was absolutely amazing! We stayed in the Marion Room, a cozy and spacious room on the third floor Like many people have mentioned, the ceilings are low, and my partner being tall he risked bumping his head whenever he stood up; we decided this added to the experience and was a small price to pay for staying in America’s oldest bed and breakfast!! (For reference, my partner is 6’2” and his head touched the ceiling; I’m 5’9” and I could fully stand up with a few inches room)

Our hosts were communicative and kind and Vijay, the tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming We received breakfast vouchers for Red’s Sandwich shop, a breakfast/lunch restaurant easily within walking distance, due to Covid We can’t wait to come back, thank you for a wonderful stay!

What a great hotel, perfect walking distance to everything we wanted to see Our room was spacious and clean, yes it had a tiny bathroom, but really why complain how much time do you really spend in it

The Hotel was beautiful, old world with modern amenities We had dinner in The Tavern, great food and drinks The front Desk staff was very helpful in directing us to a few coffee shops We are looking forward to our next visit

Highly recommend this hotel I’ve never been to a place like this At first I thought my room was small (I think they called it economy), but I loved it! Little pricey, but no complaints

I would definitely stay here again Tyler at the front desk, as well as his staff, were top notch They helped us with recommendations and getting places They would remember us the next day and ask how things were with the recommendations Nathaniel’s Restaurant wasn’t 100% on service on one of the two days, but I’d be back Hotel was wonderful! Tip: Call even if it doesn’t show availability They may have some

Really nice time at this hotel Room was spotlessly clean and well kept A quite old hotel so bathrooms very very small

Bedding was extremely nice Large cut out at bottom of bathroom door curious Can’t find any reason on Google why one is needed???? Weird Still, we’d stay here again 3 stars only because no hot water pot / coffee, tea service in the room Plenty of room for that if they cared

We stayed at the Ocean House hotel for our wedding We were getting married right next door and this was the perfect location to stay The staff was so nice and friendly

We needed a few items throughout the day while getting ready for the wedding and the staff was so nice and helpful whenever asked We worked closely with a young girl and gentlemen that gave us exceptional hospitality We would highly recommend staying here! The views are breathtaking especially from their roof deck!

Everything was what I would expectThe pool is awesome, view, and people were coolI will come back here again don’t forget the suntan lotion

I love the ocean and Gloucester So this is a great spot And the rooms face the ocean which is why I came here The Beaufort is beautiful but this is just as niceThis place came up when we were searching for places to go

Cathy Doucette

I have been coming here for 25 years with my daughters Unfortunately, we have witnessed this establishment decline in recent years It has the best location, view and other amenities

This year was the worst Room still not ready at 4 o’clock Pool was disgusting for 2 days – filter not working(?) Garbage not collected in our rooms, on the grounds, or in breakfast area Breakfast – lack of supply – don’t want to wait for 20 minutes to get coffee in the morning, and wipe your own tables down Had to go to front desk to get toilet paper Overall, I would say they are severely understaffed When I pay for a room with this price point, I expect more Sorry Bass Rocks, this is the end for us

Amazing location and beautiful hotel with breathtaking views, a pool overlooking the ocean and overall beautiful grounds They have done a wonderful job and restoring this property to its old time charm My husband booked a night away for me and this place to rest and recover and it was wonderful

For a fairly new hotel there is a lot of room for improvement on their staff hospitality readiness and training and overal customer experience, the staff was polite but for the price of this hotel I was expecting top service which unfortunately wasn’t met Another downside is the kitchen offers only light fare and there are no options available for delivery at least while I was there Going downtown for a meal is a short drive Away but be mindful during high season parking is virtually impossible

Five stars- a quiet, newly renovated, secluded spot on the New England coast Sleepy still nights, Edward Hopper light-filled rooms – beautiful earthy local seashore paintings and comfy antique furniture Local bread – good coffee

Lush carpets – dining room with high ceilings and calm with alabaster abstract paintings, oak bar sitting room with sea views – lawn reaching out to the bay Crazy giant sauna bubble bath with under water light/whoa Kennedy for a day

We had a lovely experience at this majestic hotel While the room was small, waking up to the sunrise on the ocean was Everything!! The highlight of our stay was the entertainment on Thursday evenings in the summer Tom Smoker and Friends performed for over 2 hours! This was a room filled with gifted, amazing talent

Our 12 year old son plays piano and he was invited to play a tune! THANK YOU for an unforgettable birthday!

The king room was clean and comfortable The decor is fun and modern The staff was friendly and attentive

The location is very convenient, right on Essex street within walking distance of the museums and many restaurants It was perfect for stopping to use the bathroom during the day, dropping leftovers off, and they have stations for filling your water bottle up The price was amazing for the location

The Hotel Salem was an okay experience I would NOT recommend the Micro King We underestimated how small it would be and feel

It also wasn’t the cleanest Probably not terrible on hotel standards, but I think the room being so small, it was harder to clean and you felt closer to the dirty corners the cleaning crew clearly couldn’t reach Still, we did find an empty, dusty cup under our bed and the floors weren’t really well-mopped, which kind of gave us ideas of how dirty the bedding probably was, considering how hard it would be to make a bed which was touching the wall on 3 of 4 sidesIt would’ve been 3 stars, but the location itself and everything else about the hotel was great The front desk staff was friendly and helpful Very smooth check-in/check-outThe hotel was nice enough to hold our bags the last day after check out, so we could roam the area a bit more until we had to leave for our flights The location is absolutely prime for Salem, being right in the middle of several fantastic Salem places to see!

Beautiful hotel! MCM decor was such a pleasant surprise From the lobby to the room to the roof top bar, beautiful! The two front desk ladies were so pleasant and helpful! The staff at the roof top bar were awesome as well Genuinely, no issues

The location is in the heart of Salem Our room was so clean, beautiful, updated and comfortable Highly recommend

This is a very nice hotel! We truly enjoyed our stay here We had one of the larger rooms with king bed, two easy chairs with ottomans and a gas fireplace It was quite comfortable with a view of the beach and ocean

The staff was very nice We were there for our anniversary and it was duly recognized by the front desk We were surprised by a knock on our door with a staff member presenting us with a congratulatory card and small box of chocolatesHighly recommend this hotel if you plan on a few days in Gloucester and don’t mind spending a few extra bucksWe would have no qualms about booking here again

Kim Rodrigues

The hotel exudes luxury and is set in an almost perfect location The staff are friendly and accommodating We were able to check-in earlier which was very helpful

We were also surprised when staff offered to help with luggage and although we didn’t take them up on it we appreciated the offer The rooms are clean, modern and appropriately themed The views from the rooftop pool make you feel like you’re on a cruise We attended a wedding here which was spectacular – literally a dream venue I wish we got a chance to use the bikes or the beach but our time was limited The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were perfect Despite the bed being comfortable, I wasn’t able to sleep well The only reason I’m giving this hotel a 4 star rating and not 5 is because of the extremely loud machinery sounds at the docks at night It felt like the window was open based on the placing of the air conditioner and I’m not sure what’s happening on the docks between 2am and 5am but it’s difficult to sleep peacefully I’ve read other comments that I’ve mentioned the same prior to my visit and was disappointed about this I’m hoping that management could look into this further

Lovely place with great staff, elegant decor and location! My husband and I like to go to romantic and upscale hotels for our birthdays or special days like Valentines day One of the hotels our friends recommended was closed, so we took a small risk and went to the Beauport We are glad we did! Everyone was so friendly, helpful, polite and the decor was cozy, ,warm and clean

The boutique has a fun Valentine’s day event with champagne and sweets, and it was beautifully done and decorated Dinner in the bar was delicious and plentiful and our room was tastefully decorated with a lovely waterfront view Can’t wait to come back in warmer weather!
