Do not stay here AC in my room didn’t work and management thought that giving me a fan would make it okay The AC and fan stayed on all night, and it never got below 79 degrees

Worst night I ever spent in a hotel They called after i left the hotel for work and said they would switch rooms But when I could not get off the jobsite and get back to move my stuff until 5:45, they said that since it was after 4 they could not move the rooms They never told me there was a 4pm deadline I am Gold Elite status with Marriott and they still treated me this way Stay away! I packed and left and went to the new Hilton Garden Inn across the street It is much newer and the AC worked I am glad I found a new place to stay when I am working down here

IDK how the room we we’re supposed to get would have been Since they gave our room away!!! And advised it was because we didn’t answer a call 2 hours prior BUT as we checked in… ON TIME! And they told the people in front of us they would be getting the style of room we reserved👀! I’m giving them 2 stars only because we had such a short stay

Sophia Hinojosa

I been going to same location for years and always receive A 1 service with a smile !! That is was keep us returning

4th if July weekend we had an emergency trip to take and were saddened we couldn’t stay a our favorite place Needless to say we had the worst experience else where I will NEVER stay in another hotel other than Marriot!! Thank you to the BEST TEAM AND COOK!! THEY GET 5 STARS FROM ALL MY FAMILY!!!

Hotel location was perfect for my needs In general, the hotel is clean, very comfortable beds and pillows for a pleasant sleep The breakfast is included, which may no be the best in town is acceptable… it is included, you cannot ask for more

My evaluation at 4 is for something personal that I do not like in this type of hotel, which are the dark carpets and low lights

Michael Anderson

Our family went to visit a visiting family member who was staying in this hotel, but after walking in the door, we were accosted by a rude front desk clerk He was demanding to know what room we were staying in and upon learning that our family was only visiting, he demanded we leave stating the hotel facilities were “for paying guests only” We were very disappointed with this hotel’s staff and apparent anti-visitors policies

We will not be recommending this hotel to anyone

Great price compared to others in the area We have stayed here at least 4 times now Every time has been great

Clean, well kept, great location Love the King beds in the double rooms Spacious Tile floor, so no weird carpet smells Everything you need at a good price No microwave, coffee maker, or hair dryer, but those are extras we don’t use anyway There is a fridge, which is essential We have not visited the pool yet but hopefully on our next stay We have already recommended it to family

Christine Conde

I don’t ever comment about things like this but, this room was VERY NICE It even smelled nice, not musty or hotel like smell, if that makes sense The bed was comfortable, it was very roomy (we had a room with a king size bed), not claustrophobic

There was a little table for eating, a small sofa with coffee table the bed with an awesome back board It was even nice enough to just sit and relax if you didn’t want to go anywhere The gentleman at the front who checked us in was super nice and friendly The only downsides are (and it’s not really all that major): There isn’t a refrigerator, coffee maker, iron/ironing board or hair dryer (usual things I’ve seen in other hotel rooms And there is no continental breakfast or beverage station in the lobby That’s why I gave it 4 stars But there are convenient stores and restaurants close by and the price was pretty reasonable I would definitely stay here again!

Emily Cartagena

Amazing service!! The room is spotless I seriously couldn’t find any spots It’s super clean throughout!!! The room is so spacious with two king size beds; very comfortable mattresses with clean white sheets! The customer service is among the best we’ve experienced

Highly recommend and will always return to this as it exceeded our expectations

Room was super clean!! I had absolutely no issue while my little family and I stayed there! If you’re looking a cozy room at an amazing price I would definitely recommend it! I was greeted with a great attitude!! There was a bbq and basketball area I’m sure we had access to, but didn’t get to enjoy Showers didn’t have an shampoo and conditioner, but that’s really nothing And about having to take your own trash? I got mine ready for that, but when we came back in the evening they had already taken care of it, so I don’t think that was true

Wonderful place!! And I think they’re even let friendly!

Joseph

For being a family establishment and only a 2-star it was pretty amazing The room may be a little small but cute The room was clean and they even have people that do the lawn

Everything from the outside to the inside was well kept and honestly can’t beat the price I was running real late my first night and they accommodated by calling me and providing me my room information

Not a bad hotel It’s in decent shape and the staff are very friendly The real problem is the location

It sits next to a busy highway but even worse yet if your room faces the safelite repair shop next door you’ll be treated to extremely loud bass music at 8am I left them a nice review for it too Hopefully the two managers can work out an agreement where the hotel guests can enjoy some quiet in the mornings

Chris

At first glance this place looks decent, but upon looking closer you will find maintenance to be the last thing on their mindsMy coworkers room had rust in the tub and water damage on the bathroom walls They had to put a mat down in his shower The maintenance guy told him the management doesn’t want to renovate the bathrooms

My room has a nice big spot of water damage coming from the room above me, when the person above me showered I could hear water dripping and could watch water slowly drip down my bathroom wallThe one front loading washing machine is never cleaned, it has a build up of sludge in the inner lip of the door My coworkers clothes had the sludge all over them after trying to remove the “clean” clothes He had to wash them again in a different machine The maintenance guy who came up couldn’t have cared lessThis is the kind of stuff you expect at a cheap motel But when you’re paying between $150-$200 a night these things shouldn’t be happening It’s pretty embarrassing for a Residence Inn

Aina Togiai

Staff is amazing… breakfast is good 99% of the time Location is great! Housekeeping is very good tooCons:I am currently staying here for 37 nights and might have to extend

I’m staying in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite1 The beds are hard Better than the holiday inn express down the street but still hard fir a Marriott chain2 The parking is horrible On my days off i Don’t leave after dark cause I won’t have a parkingThis business trip I have stayed at 2 other hotels and this will have been the best by far

Great room, nice and clean! The room also has a microwave and an iron perfect if you’re going away for businessKind and helpful staff, it has a little communal fitness areaUnfortunately the wifi did cut out sometimes! Otherwise it would have been 5 stars!

Melissa Dubuque

This hotel was not clean, the room smelled like mold On the second night in the room is when the roaches made their appearance The hallway had trash in them when we arrived and was still there in the morning

The property was not clean on the outside, needs some maintenance We also reserved a King room/ two double per the website and email Once we got here we were given a handicap room where it was nearly impossible for us to take a proper shower

Matt Frost

It seems pretty dirty Not sure how thorough the cleaning is I’m sure they’re spraying down everywhere, but the drawer handles and fixtures have rust spots all over them

There’s something nasty on the side of the chair The outlet doesn’t work at the night stand Nasty bath, rust, mold, painted over tub very low water pressure that is very highly chlorinated Bring a candle or air freshener, this room has a nasty musty smell The elevator is sketch, bounces up and down when going to the second and third floor; It smells like it was cleaned with a dirty rag The window treatments are torn When housekeeping took the dirty towels, I got a new towel but no wash cloth The carpets are dirty The bed is uncomfortable There is a lack of parking spaces The TV is the equivalent size of a computer monitor The wifi is unstable, getting kicked off constantly Customer service is good but the facility is ran down I would have expected more from the Holiday Inn brand

For being the most expensive hotel in town there is too much to improve The rooms design are poor (There is a wall blocking the tv sight), I would expect restaurant and bar service; just breakfast is served According to a letter left in my room this is due to Covid restrictions, hope this changes in the future and gladly would update my opinion

Employees are nice and location is good

Nick Gilles

I’m writing this review to warn others This hotel is decent and clean, so it gets 3 stars However, we stayed here 1 night quickly while passing through

We paid with points When you use Marriott points, you do not expect to pay anything upon check out To my surprise, when I got the receipt emailed, there was a $3 charge for our 1 night I’m not phased by $3 But I was expecting $0 So I investigated what the charge was It was showing up as “Parking recapture fee” What the heck? I did park a car, but they never asked if I did or not Additionally we proactively check everywhere we go, on their website to verify parking is freeWhen I went to check out, I inquired about the $3 charge, and the front desk advised, “Oh, we added a parking charge” And I replied, “ok well, your website says parking is complementary so I’d like it removed” After about 1 minute on the computer the lady advised “Ok it’s done have a nice day”Again, $3 isn’t anything… but if they’re adding this to everyone’s bill at the end of the day it’s an unfair practice as it states parking is complementary PLEASE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT UPON CHECK OUT!!!Also, there was no body wash in the bottle in the bathroom, so maybe housekeeping could do a bit better

Clean enough and good location (convenient to highway access and close to shopping & restaurants) but a bit overpriced for the area The fridge in my room was quite loud, which kept me up The bathroom looks like it was cheaply built (caulking was beige/tan in corners where moisture seemed to collect along the outside of the tub/shower) and floor and toilet didn’t seem level — very odd!! Some of the front desk staff are friendly but the one young, thin, Hispanic girl with the long hair on the evening shift was pretentious and too good for the job so be prepared for less than friendly service if you get her

Laughter Heals

Customer service was excellent Room was clean, bed was comfortableJust needs to be updated

Furniture had a lot of wear and tear Like chipped pieces of wood missing from cabinetsBecause CS was excellent and the fact that the room was clean, I would stay here again if doing a quick trip (72 hrs) again

Laura Hamilton

Great property We found it necessary to stay here after the unexpected hospitalization of my husband Property was well maintained and staff very accommodating

The only thing negative I have to say is that the website said there was a hot tub and there wasn’t They need to remove that from their website The hot tub had been converted to a large planter😂 It did provide a few chuckles for an otherwise tense visit

I was very impressed on the hospitality and great customer service that Joe(the night attendant) delivered to me and my family You don’t see that trait in people anymore I have traveled to many states and have stayed at several hotels but never have I felt treated with such compassion at a hotel

My night was going awful and had been traveling over 28hrs from North Carolina Everywhere else I called I felt rush off the phone, had no vacancy, and one guy even told me he couldn’t hold my reservation unless I paid double the regular price So as I was driving looking for a hotel for me and my family to stay in, i stumble into the Lone Star Inn There I was treated like a human being and not just a number I recommend my fellow travelers to stay here It’s clean, comfortable, and staff is very courteous Place felt safe which is good when you are traveling with wife and kidsThanks Joe for making my experience one I will always remember

AMY HOOKER

The ABSOLUTE rudest hotel staff I’ve EVER met and my family has traveled with my husband all over the states The elderly lady we brought was given so many nasty comments from them, especially the Indian lady

I could not hold my tongue anymore She was quoted a price the day or 2 prior but couldn’t get someone to help bring her there then, so she was given a higher price while there She was shocked and truly didn’t understand what they were meaning by why the price changed She was trying to decide if she could and should book it and I guess she was taking too long(less than 5 minutes) to decide, so they both started saying VERY unprofessional things She didn’t deserve that She had been looking for a handicapped room that she could book for a month alllllllll day with absolutely no luck without paying at least $1400 That hotel is no better than a motel 6 and definitely isn’t worth $1400, especially without breakfast, and only 1 person being able to use the pool The rooms are NOTHING like the pictures This place is a joke

Ana Ramirez

I wouldn’t even rate this hotel a 1 star it was such a bad experience! There was a dead bird in the pool that was just thrown out & a lot of bugs in the pool as well We got to our room & found a dead bug & live bugs in our sheets not to mention the sheets were dirty & had hair & stains on them , we went to ask for a refund & we’re trying to be civil with the lady & she just kept arguing with us & didn’t give us a refund she was rude & told us to get used to having bugs because it’s Texas We did ask to see the room before getting it but she said no I hated it here it was such a bad experience my bf got bit by something too in that room so I definitely would not recommend this place!!!!!

I was a long term guest in this superb hotel The hotel was always maintained to a high standard and the cleaning ladies were excellent The kitchen staff was very friendly and happy to help with anything i requested

The front staff was delightful and always greeted me Wendy was especially kind and went above and beyond helping me with anything from unloading my groceries to making me a new key card when I misplaced mine As a disabled veteran, I truly appreciate the help and graciousness provided from all of the staff members I would recommend this hotel to my friends and family before any other in the area

Laney Hawes

Stayed here with our family of 6 for a beach vacation We couldn’t find reasonable lodging in south padre, so we decided to stay further inland (50 minute drive) We stayed for two nights and LOVED this hotel

We got a suite- with 2 beds & a couch bed The rooms were so clean The entire hotel was clean And quiet and welcoming The free breakfast was delicious The staff was helpful and kind We will be back! Perfect for families

Rico Burgos

The worst Homeward suites I ever stayed at!!! Costumer service is bad! No towels!! My room never got cleaned after I told them I need my room cleaned! I payed 200 plus a night and had the worst experience here at this location!! I came here for a funeral and had to call front office multiple times to get towels just so me and my family can shower and get dressed!! Smh then I get back to room later that night and room wasn’t cleaned like they promised it was gonna get cleaned! The worst experience ever! I should have just got a $75 room like other family members because they didn’t have one problem!!!!

Room dirty, sliders didn’t open due to old doors being rusted Shower tub filled to top while showering, gross Female staff at desk rude, especially Spanish girl with white eyeliner

She would look at me then look down and never say can I help you, making me wait while she was on her cell She did this several times on her shift I would never stay again because of her rudeness I tried to tell her about my old dinghy room I was paying 169 for a balcony, she replied people who complain just want their money back That’s not true If there were a fire I would not be able to get out when windows are rusted shut

Matthew Smith

Very disappointed in this Marriott property It was not up to Marriott standards The food in the restaurant was reheated in a microwave

The hotel was dirty everywhere I looked The room configuration had the TV at the side of the bed instead of the foot of the bed I got a stiff neck trying to watch it sideways Some of the curtains were detached from the rod The desk had crumbs on it from previous people I’ve stayed in a lot of Marriott properties over the years and this is one of the worse ones ever

Shabaura Perryman

Not happy with this property at all The rooms smelled damp like wet musty clothes The water in the sink smelled Rusty, The queen bed did not have a bed skirt, and theere was two nats in my room

I was initally upgraded to a a King suite, however as single female traveller its not safe to have a room on the first floor, or any floor next door to the exit door The front desk displayed my room number to the man behind me when she handed me the room key

They are racist and don’t like children they charge for every person even children even for my newborn so the price for the hotel doubled up right away Stay somewhere else not worth it
