Love, love, love this place Location so close to the beach A small walk away you can drive as well just down the street and turn to the parking area

The resort itself has a great pool area They said it was 83 degrees in the pool but it definitely felt like the warmer was not on However, still lovely with the sun beaming down on the water Used the BBQ gas pit and that went well First time for us using the hot tub area and it did not disappoint at all This place has so many things I can’t even place them all here We go annually as a reconnect with family trip I recommend this place and the area in general Soon I’ll hit the golf course that’s just up the street from the resort See you next year!

Devik Schreiner

Great resort They allowed early check-in and the place is clean with modern amenities and a very helpful and kind staff The town of Avila Beach is a short walk down the hill and there is access to hiking trails, bike riding, golf and more

The beach is the main attraction and the views of the ocean from the hotel were stunningThe gym is open with enough room to do my virtual reality workout The pool is heated and the jacuzzi jets are strong I also enjoyed the always open coffee bar

Dameon R

The room and view were wonderful as was the check in staff We attempted to book our room for one more night but due to a recent policy change we were not able to The policy is now a minimum two night stay

Reason and logic along with a basic grasp of customer service should have allowed for us to extend our stay by one evening but unfortunately this was not the case I will be cancelling the several trips I have already booked and looking elsewhere for lodging

We had brunch outside overlooking the ocean What a gorgeous view The food was terrific

My boys had the pancakes and bacon and I had the omelet with mushrooms We did enjoy the endless mimosas and my only complaint is they don’t leave the bottle or a pitcher on the table I get it is a service thing but it sucks flagging someone down However, our waitress did an amazing job

We highly recommend staying here It’s so close to the beach and pier and Splash Cafe among other popular eateries The room was adorable, the fireplace feature super cool and the partial view, well, partial, but good nonetheless

There’s a tiny coffee pot with good coffee and an assortment of flavored cleaners It was a nice perk The shower was big and the water temp and stream steady The only drawback, the bed was too stiff for my liking but my hubby was good with it Parking on-site is covered and gated Key cards worked great without issue The office staff person was very nice and wecoming That’s always a good feel We’d stay here again, for sure

Kristina Owens

This place was recommended to us by my dad who stayed here before We got the family suite which was perfect for our family of six Everything was clean and felt safe

The staff was really accommodating The location was also a really easy walk to the beach and shops The view wasn’t great in that room, could only see a sliver of the beach and a lot of the alley, but I didn’t mind

Really enjoyed staying here The rooms are a little dated but are large, quiet and comfortable I would have preferred a shower cubicle, rather than a shower with curtain over a bath

Also a safe in the room would be good These are, however, minor issuesWhat makes this place great are the communal areas; the reception, bar, breakfast room and pool areas are all really well appointed The complimentary drinks during ‘Happy Hour’ and the complimentary breakfast both exceeded my expectations Very friendly staff too Definitely worthy of a 5-star review

Michael Soneff

I was up working very late, and the night manager and security guard were extremely polite and helpful The courtyard was lovely, and they left the fire table on for me so I could comfortably work outside, offered me free coffee and tea, and checked in regularly to make sure all was well into the early hours The lobby was very nice and well maintained

Everything was clean, and pleasantly, unlike many public areas in hotels, didn’t reek of industrial cleaners The rooms are fine Nothing spectacular but very clean and diligently maintained 10/10 Will stay here the next time I’m in SLO

J McGuinness

The photos don’t do this place justice The lobby is so beautiful The stay was very pleasant

All the amenities you need are provided The breakfast was great We missed the happy hour but the food selection looked and sounded amazing The room was clean and had so much extra space The only thing that was a little strange was having the sink in the bedroom near the bed with no sound divider The door into the bathroom is heavy; it dragged while retracting into the wall so it was loud/disturbing going in and out of the bathroom Getting showered and ready with someone sleeping in the bed is not really possible Besides that, we would still stay here again

I travel often for work and this is my favorite hotel I love this placeRooms are very clean and updated

All have nice little balconiesOutside of hotel is amazing Plenty areas to relax and enjoy the ocean There’s a private beach within steps that I highly recommendYou won’t be disappointed if you come here Keep your patio door cracked at night and enjoy the waves crashing ✌🏼

Jenn J

This is a pricey but lovely place If you like to treat yourself to a nice hotel with excellent views, this is the place! It was a lovely room facing a beautiful view of the ocean with a balcony to sit on to watch the ocean from sun up to sunset Room had a small refrigerator and coffee pot and plenty of room

No carpet, which is the norm for most beachfront hotels Check in was easy, staff were great, and we parked our car right in front of our room They offered wine reception and breakfast which we did not take advantage of due to our schedule, but were offered Many nice restaurants close by to have dinner The only critique I would have was that I did not care for the bed, as it moved with every toss and turn of my spouse Otherwise a terrific end to a long and stressful trip Really a 45 but no way to rate it that way

Valerie Hernandez

We Absolutely Loved This Hotel! Everything was Nice and Clean Awesome Jacuzzi and Pool area! Amazing Views, Very Peaceful! All Staff are Very Friendly and Nice Breakfast was also nice

They had waffles, oatmeal, toast, english muffins, boiled eggs as well as scrambled, potatoes, sausage, fruit, cereal, danishes & juice Beds where comfy, room was Very clean with a Beautiful view We will Definitely be coming back!

We just had the best experience ever staying in Pismo Beach! When we arrived I asked if there was a larger bed than the one I had booked online Michael then showed me a few of the rooms to choose from including the ocean front rooms We paid a upgrade fee and spent the week in the best ocean front suite I’ve ever stayed in! The staff was amazing and will now have a new favorite hotel to stay in!!!

L Stanley

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel It has been recently renovated, laminate flooring, new furniture and fresh coat of paint For an ole hotel it is very nice, clean and comfy

The management was friendly and welcoming The location is perfect for a walk down the beach, the Pismo pier & the little downtown area with shops and restaurants The walls are a bit thin and we had neighbors with toddlers and a very noisy man that talked so loud we had a hard time getting to sleep The hotel seemed to have other rooms available so it’s a shame we were not put into another instead of beside a noisy family

Shawn-Patrick Smailey

Park your car & walk sums it up Trip w/ my daughter and it was a great intro to Pismo area Not a spot if you brought toys (ATV, SxS, etc

) as parking is tight and limited to one vehicle; but if you want to walk, get in the waves, or chill on the beach you literally can’t find a closer spot They’ve done a good job of upgrading rooms – at least ours – but it’s a typical beach spot w/ walls that don’t muffle sound Great news for hearing the surf; bad news if you don’t want to know what your neighbor(s) are watching or talking about

Man was this place nice!!!! Me and my daughter soaked in the hot tub for hours upon hours…just enjoying the view and not wanting to go home The room was great and spacious And don’t even get me started on the breakfast

The mini waffles were ADORABLE …and delicious… Anyway, to conclude this review I would just like say that this hotel was AMAZING, and my family would love to come back Thank you for having us and attending to our needs!

Bin Ju

The view at the hotel is beyond words The property is very well taken care of In the morning and evening during our stay we strolled on the property watched sunset

It is simply beautiful The room is clean and house keeping does a good job The breakfast is good with plenty of choices The location of the hotel is perfect It is a mile away from the pier where we fished twice Beach is a short stroll from the hotel The beach is plat and calm and perfect for digging the sand There are plenty of trails around without having to drive a car Very pleased with our stay

Sixx

We absolutely enjoyed our stay The view is so much better than any of the other hotels in the area The view of the ocean is free from traffic and people

You get a real ocean view along with the ocean sounds at night and early morning The pool was beautiful and clean The staff is amazing, especially Idalia who was part of the breakfast team She was so professional but very personable and caring She made sure my daughter who is currently in a wheel chair was comfortable and had acess to anything she needed She went above and beyond You don’t get that type of customer service anymore Rooms were clean and spacious The price was a bit high but outside of that, every thing was great

Natasha Fierro

Excellent location for our needs with local charm, but not without flaws I read reviews and was expecting a very basic inn There are some cute touches, but the creature comforts are lacking for the pickier traveler

The bed really seems smaller than the advertised queenI have a queen and slept on a queen the following city The very firm tiny mattress was fine when I slept on my side – so more an issue of size not comfort I did bring some of my own extra plush blankets to ensure I was warm enough Pillows were subpar The shower had extremely low or close to zero hot water pressure, but the bath tile and sink appeared to be updated in the last decade I washed my hair in the sink with cold water We did visit the restaurant and they seemed to be challenged with not enough qualified staff Pancakes and eggs were good enough, but coffee was not to my liking Lobby coffee and tea were a nice touch, with a slightly better brew in the lobby I did get a text about free wine, but I was not able to enjoy it A pleasant surprise was the two-person hot tub which was awesome after hiking and biking for two dayswe did also get a kick out of the nightly frog serenades Some of the car engines could be heard early but the benefit of a single story was no audible hotel door slamming or heavy-footed neighbors Phoenix in the lobby was very friendly upon check-in

Barbara Dunn-Knudsen

Took a short trip to SLO for a concert Booked a stay at the Apple Farm Inn Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprise how lovely the grounds of the surrounding area were

Upon checking in, we were given fresh cookies and tickets for free wine tasting in the Apple Farm Cellar They also offer coffee, tea and warm apple cider in the lobby after 5pm Although the buildings seem older the interiors of the rooms were upgraded with great thoughtfulness to comfort and convenience The the room was well situated and bed was very comfortable with crisp clean linens Although our room was close to the street, literally right off the highway, relatively little noise could be heard from inside our room In the morning we had breakfast at their restaurant The coffee was great and our breakfast was delicious! We will definitely plan to stay there on our next trip! They offer great rates as well Give Apple Farm Inn a try

Ron Mellen

We showed up on Thursday night with no reservation The hotel was pretty much sold out We had a very nice, helpful man named Steve trying to find us a room

Not only did he get us in, but our rooms were spectacular We were two couples and we wanted to stay one more night and we were able to keep our same rooms with the great juggling the hotel desk did to get us covered I love this place and will definitely come back again soon

We stayed here as part of a US road trip and safe to say it was potentially our favourite place to stay (and that included a stay in the MGM Signature in Vegas!) Our room was super clean, very spacious and had everything we needed Hot tub on the balcony was a great touch

Free underground parking was useful and the location right on the beach was greatThe staff were also fantastic! They took a genuine interest in my wife and I, taking time to ask about our accents and home country while also giving recommendations of what to see around the areaThey also offered us beach towels and beach chairs which was really appreciated when you’re not a local/couldn’t pack those things in our suitcases!Overall an absolutely fantastic stay and we would not hesitate returning!

Jan Gardiner

We have stay med in 5 other Pismo Beach locations Recently we stayed for two nights celebrating our 45 year anniversary All staff were brilliant from Brenda, Ashley at check in, Jordon in the dining room

The hitel dining room is excellent from the great views, good food and service The housekeeping was superb Each room has a fireplace and hit tub We had a partial ocean view The front rooms have comfortable full ocean view I highly recommend

Nie John

Booked last minute and was blown away by my experience! The staff were genuinely pleasant, very responsive, and incredibly accommodating – Fiona and Ashley (not sure if that’s her first name, but I know her last name was Johnson) in particular! The room was immaculate, the view and location were OUTSTANDING, and the spa on the balcony was the perfect and luxurious cherry on top! I will definitely be staying here again!

Great location Beautiful views Not so good stay

When we walked into our room my 10 year old son pointed out all of the fly bugs on the ceiling He opened the wooden curtains and found plenty of them dead and alive in the windowsill I noticed the windows don’t have screens so I opened the window to try and get as many as I could out What actually happened is the just all flew away from that corner and into the rest of the room It’s a beautiful location so I asked the front desk to help and they said they were sorry but they couldn’t help with the fly bugs, they could send maintenance to get as many put but that’s all they could do When we went back into the room, there weren’t any more on the ceiling or window but I noticed there were left dead on the floor At night, before we went to bed, we could see all the little fly bugs flying around, once again front desk said it’s because we are so close to the beach and during this time of the year there were many of them flying around, they asked us to not open our windows (which windows didn’t other than to try and get them out initially) At checkout, I asked for an adjustment since we paid close to $500 for the room and had to sleep with bugs around us (might as well have camped) They said they couldn’t make any adjustments because we booked through a third party, then offered me a bottle of Gatorade for the inconvenience We will not be returning to this hotel and hopefully they invest in some window screens

Room 304 was great until the sinks and bath tub clogged up in the middle of “our” night Front desk was very nice and was able to accommodate us with the vacant room next door I highly recommend this hotel and this room (when plumbing is fixed)

It has a great balcony view and the king beds were beyond perfection One of the best night sleeps I have had in a long time The wife was also happy about that Will be back

Veronica Cortez

Booked an ocean view room for one night Checked in through text and received a text that our room was ready earlier than check in time Definitely a plus since we got in early

The lady at the front desk was super nice and quick The view was great The room was clean overall The bench at the foot of the bed was dirty but I just set my stuff there didn’t sit on it The fridge wasn’t cold enough, we just kept our stuff in our ice chest We liked the fire pits available, we got to enjoy the sunset from there I would stay there again

Tom Scott

I called ahead for an early check in I only had a small window of time because I was coming from a wedding and had to run back to it I was told that there would be no problem getting in by 3 PM

When I arrived at 3pm, the front desk told me that there were no rooms available When I pressed the issue and told them about my call, a room was made available, room 132 I was checked in and told about your no smoking policy When I went to the room, it was definitely not ready at all and reeked of marijuana So I hurriedly went back to the front desk and told them Another room was made available, room 202 When I arrived at the room, I saw cleaning towels on the bathroom sink When I opened the cabinet underneath, there was a pile of dirty towels Cleanliness is high on my list of priorities when I choose a hotel When I see things wrong in that area, I can only assume that there are many other things that I can’t see The lady at the front desk was nice, but the staff in general seemed to be in disarray This was my first time using your hotel and will be my last

Beautiful, new rooms The bar is exceptional with creative cocktail selectionsThe electrical situation in the room is odd

I tried charging my portable charging unit and after a while it would just stop charging until I unplugged and plugged it back in Shower water pressure in our room was very low No blackout shades for the window/sliding glass door, which made sleeping more difficult for meOverall, it’s very nice and I would stay here again

this hotel is possibly one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed It’s gorgeous, and in an unbeatable location right in downtown SLO We stayed for two nights and were easily able to get a very late check-out our last day, so we could sleep in, eat some room service, and go for a last dip in the pool! the room was gorgeous- huge and airy, with a fantastic bathroom and really beautiful contemporary design

We also brought our dog- this place is seriously dog-friendly, and she sat with us while we ate, sat by the pool, and was super comfortable in the room when we left her We will definitely be staying here again!

The most amazing hotel! The space is stunning and modern A really stylish space Our room was so spacious and clean

Everything was comfortable There’s nespresso machines, tea kettles Filtered refrigerated water ( with refill taps on every floor that dispense still and sparkling water) The rooftop is very cool The pool is lovely The food and drinks are spot on and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming This little hotel is perfect in every way

Beautiful property with nice views of the ocean, boardwalk access, and lovely fire pits in the outdoor space The decor is great as well, exactly what you’d expect in a coastal California space Good amenities in terms of having a gym and filtered water fountains

Valet-only parking, which honestly makes life much easier so you can focus on enjoying the momentIn the design of this experience, there are still improvements to be made, especially on the “soft” side of the product As other Marriott loyalists have noted, the biggest improvement opportunity is service attentiveness; I do find it important to note that the valet stand has the best service on the whole propertyIn terms of the hard product of the hotel itself, there could also be some further attention placed on the details that truly make a premium experience Two great examples are the lack of softness in the towels and the lack of desks in some rooms

Amazing hotel right on the beach Kat at the front desk was so helpful with recommendations and upgraded our room It was much appreciated

The breakfast vouchers we received were still limited because of COVID-19 But the fresh fruit and muffins they gave us instead were a lot better than anticipated The shuttle service was nice to have as well The driver was super friendly Would definitely stay here again Thanks!

Property was very nice Front desk did not acknowledge my Titanium status on check in but the front desk staff during the rest of the stay was exceptionalDown side was that our expensive steaks and side dishes arrived cold ( TWICE!)

The executive chef spent 20 minutes talking to his friends at the table next to ours instead of making sure the food was rightView was great Bartenders were great as well If the Exec chef can learn to do his job instead of shooting the breeze with his pals the stay would be great for you

It’s a charming, older style hotel, that reminded of the placer I might have seen 50 years ago in New York An elevator where you have to pull the sliding screen door closed;older style staircases and appointments The people at the front desk were all wonderfully helpful and cheerful to a high degree

The location in downtown Pismo Beach is ideal Easy to get to and from Plenty of parking, and that a valuable thing there Good restaurants within walking distance A+ in my book

Usually you can expect consistent accommodations with an embassy anywhere you book Very disappointed with this property Room was was rundown and dated

As we entered, the room smelled stale, the carpet had rips, popcorn ceiling was peeling Bathroom was tiny and didn’t feel clean Toilet has stains in bowl 2 nights at this hotel We made the most of the first night Returned to our room for the second night to go straight to bed and leave early A dog in a room nearby was barking – a small dog so it was a constant YAP! We called the front desk to report and all they could do was send security to investigate The front desk was barely apologetic and said there wasn’t anything they could do because of the pet policy It was as if they had a scripted response and confided the pet policy has only caused more trouble than good After an hour of trying to sleep through the yapping, I called and asked to be moved to another room The last thing I wanted to do at 11pm was pack up and relocate for the night They were a little ore sympathetic in person when we walked down to the front desk but you could tell it was an uncomfortable situation as they were not even permitted “by policy” to contact the guest via cell phone to let them know the dog they left in the room was barking and poor dog was upset So horrible We were relocated to the back of the hotel backing up to the freeway Guess the consistent freeway traffic buzz was less painful than the yapping dog Very disappointing

Sara R

No issues during this stay! Room was well kept and clean Carpet appeared a bit older and was worn but I wouldn’t say as bad as other coastal hotel/motels nearbyBreakfast at Embassy Suites never disappoints

The omelet bar is always a treat! Warmed food is always replenished and fresh Lots of variety for all appetitesLounge and Atrium area has many live plants and is so beautiful just to sit and relax especially during cocktail hour

C. Young

I appreciated the free hot breakfast and evening happy hour… so rare these days!Fitness center was sufficient, but uncomfortable if there’s more than one other person in thereRoom was comfortable enough, but I couldn’t figure out the thermostat so temperature was inconsistent Couch was oddly positioned so the chaise was right in front of the door; you have to open the door really wide so you can walk around the chaise to get in and then walk back around to close the door

Hotel is in a shopping center, so it’s close to food, everyday shopping necessities, and plenty of parkingThere’s a free (very slow) EV charger a few buildings down, if you need one I’d plug in early in the morning while I worked out/shower/breakfast and that would get me enough charge to do errands around town and some sightseeing nearby There’s a supercharger across the street at Madonna Inn if you need something fasterOverall I had a pleasant stay

We spent the 4th of July weekend in Pismo at Valentina Suites Our suite, 501 is very comfortable with big rooms and high ceilings The unit is in good condition and nicely updated

I enjoyed the unit tremendously A couple of things that were not great The unit faces the freeway which runs along the properties on the opposite side of the street So we had traffic noise all day and night Also, the glasses, plates and cookware are fine but not on the same level as the physical accommodations of the unit All in all a very nice stay and I would recommend it with some tempered expectations

My family and I stayed at Valentina Suites for two nights and from the moment we arrived we could not have asked for a better experience Valentina is a family owned establishment and the owners could not be more kind, helpful and accommodating I was impressed by their meticulous attention to detail

The love and pride they take in presenting a piece of Pismo Beach history to their guests is clear to see The beautifully designed mission revival architecture lends an old town charm to the place, while the exquisite suites, each named in honor of a notable Pismo Beach resident, provide all the comfort and convenience of a modern hotel The ocean views are beautiful and the patio attached to our suite was the perfect place to listen to the waves crash while also taking in the quaint beauty of the townSitting a mere two blocks from the ocean, guests have easy access to an incredible beach perfect for walking, jogging, sun bathing and just about any form of beach play Valentina Suites is also within walking distance of many delicious and varied food options I could spend a week there just to try all of the food!Whatever might take you to Pismo Beach, CA I am confident that a stay at Valentina Suites will not disappoint!

No staff were ever present We were asked to do their laundry before we left We were also asked to clean the kitchen, and the restroom

Other rooms had screaming patrons at night, and there was no one present to reprimand that behavior The cookwares were malformed, also had poison on them Stains were present across the property Only half the parking was gated The property was beautiful I was impressed with the low water gardening I thought the architecture was nice The inspiring life stories of the locals were great However, a regular hotel suite is clearly superior

Immediately upon arrival, the check in staff were professional, but kind and humerus We felt very welcomed As we entered our room, the ocean view was breathtakingly gorgeous and the room was very clean and great size

Exploring the beautiful grounds and the lovely pool, we took the stairway that led down to a relaxing walk on the beach It was an easy walk to the Pismo pier and my husband had recently had a knee replacement The continental breakfast was perfect for days we didnt want to leave early Also, the owner Henry and Security Officer Andrew, were extremely helpful with a few things, including my unfortunate trip to the hospital in an ambulance for chest pain They treated me like family We have already booked another date with them We can’t wait to return and we highly recommend a stay here

Gayle Pollard

The view and hearing the ocean from your balcony make this a wonderful place to stayI contacted them before my visit to inquire on something and they were prompt and helpful in reply They were helpful again when I realized I was missing an item which they had and are sending me

If you want “fancy” this is not for you, beautiful views, good service and clean surroundings make Kon Tiki a great place to stay

Carissa Mulock

View from your balcony was stunning Loved the recliner sofa but the bed was horrible Stayed 4 nights and upon checkout I let them know the bed felt used up and they needed to replace

She said they all were two years old! For $300 a night they should invest in better beds that will last them much longer Breakfast was limited No real hot breakfast items Honestly if it wasn’t for the horrible bed I’d come back just for the hot tub and view

We had reservations at a near by motel that was way below our standards so we called the courtyard and the manager was very accommodating and set us up right away The staff are all very nice There is a Starbucks inside the lobby

The rooms are clean and comfortable and again the staff are all so friendly Pool area is great as well

Adriana Berrios

Always feel welcomed atmosphere is great Love the fact that they had the pool man come right before 10 to make sure the pool was clean and to see what treatment needs to be done Room was clean the shower still had hair but that could have been washed down

The shampoo and conditioner I’m so pleased they had Paul Mitchell tea tree but the body wash was empty so i didn’t even use My main complaint is that the beds were very uncomfortable i didn’t get a good night’s sleep kept moving to re adjust That’s the main reason why we get a room for sleep I have stayed at multiple Marriott hotels and always comfortable

The Cliffs is extraordinary! A staycation within its premises We stayed in a beautiful king suite room, well polished and very clean Upon arrival you are greeted with free valet service and free welcome wine glass

Outside in the courtyard is a decent size pool and beautiful views from atop the bluffs overlooking the Pacific To the right there are stairs that lead you to a public but very secluded beach Hotel staff is more than accommodating and had a very relaxing stay My wife took advantage of the day spa located on the first floor Would stay again!

Love and Peace

We had a wonderful short gateway on 4th of July weekend at the Cliffs Hotel and Spa Everything was simply perfect from the gorgeous ocean view from our balcony to tiny but precious details such as rubber duck for the bathtub enjoyment The staff was very friendly and helpful

Literally every member of the Cliffs team went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as it can be We did not spend time on the pool but instead we enjoyed the gorgeous beach with a breath taking view, which located down the steps The hotel has a Marisol restaurant where we dined in for 3 evenings We love the view, the service and the menu As vegan, I am never sure if I would be eating anything exciting when I go to a new place Marisol met my expectations ! We highly recommend The Cliffs Hotel and Spa – we had great time staying there and we will be coming back for sure

Jodi Fleming

Everything about our long weekend stay at the Cliffs Resort and Spa exceeded our expectations! Beautifully appointed and spacious room, lovely pool and jacuzzi, incredible ocean views, walking trails to small beaches, an oceanfront lawn with entertainment and plenty of chairs and tables to relax in! Our afternoon at the spa was delightful! My esthetician was so accommodating at my every request and made me feel and look amazing My daughter’s massage was the best she ever had Dinner at the restaurant was scrumptious, front desk staff and valet were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this beautiful property for your next stay in Pismo!
