A couple of the staff who work at the pool and bar were extremely rude and unwelcoming, just this will make me not want to go backI booked a daybed at the pool and thank goodness because the pool was over packed and it seemed like non hotel guest came and meet their friends Kids everywhere which definitely took away from the relaxing part and made it hard to get into their very tiny poolThe daybed was $200 and it came with warm water nothing to keep it cold The beds where suppose to have a sever but we got the least attention, the people just hanging out at the pool where served more So I don’t think I got me money’s worth other than having a spot to sit Lunch isn’t served till 12 and by that time everyone at the pool was ordering food moving the time to 11 would help the staff not be so overwhelmedThe restaurant took a really long time to get drinks out and the steak had a lot of fat on it but the pork belly was really goodI was there celebrating my birthday and the staff asked a couple time but didn’t do anything for it or at the restaurant which was a little weirdIt was a great one time experience but I don’t think we will go back

My family of 5 stayed five nights in a “suite” that supposedly fits 6 people but not sure how that is humanly possible How do 6 people fit on 1 Queen and 2 Full beds? We had no extra seating in our “suite” besides one office chair so if we wanted to hang out in our “suite” we had to sit on our beds The room was tiny, outdated and smelled horrible We figured out that the horrible urine smell was coming from the wall AC unit that also had an extremely loud rattle that kept us up all night After our second night of no sleep I spoke to a woman in the office about our frustrations and her response was “Well, you have to remember that this is a Motel and not a Hotel” (even though they charge hotel prices with a no-refund policy if you decide you want to leave early) After being told we would not receive a refund if we left early we toughed it out and finished our stay My total for 5 nights was just over 2k and I didn’t want to spend any more $$ on another hotel We learned our lesson with this place My suggestion to all who read this is to find a different place to stay The location might be great but it’s all WAY down hill from there

Far and away the best experience I’ve had staying at a Carlsbad hotel The service was great, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the pool is heated perfectly, and the location is fantastic It’s right next to all the great Carlsbad attractions like Legoland, the beach is close by, and same with the village, but also plenty of shopping and great restaurants to choose from all within walking distance

Lovely resort We really enjoyed the pool The family area spa is a little cooler than I would like as an adult, but it was lovely for the kids to be able to enjoy it (and there is an adult pool/spa available area as well)

Really great family hotel! This place is great for families, the full kitchen makes everything much easier if you are traveling with kids We were able to store all the essentials for our 3, and 1 year old The room was extremely clean and they even provided a pack n play for our 1 year old

The furniture is a bit outdated but is in really great condition Overall the customer service was great but can improve in some aspects I would definitely stay here again We were able to walk to Legoland, it took us about 8 minutes There is no bell service or Valet, so it’s a bit of a bummer There are 2 hotels in the same building The desk for this one is on the right when you walk in and the Hilton on the left The bar was also very convenient, and Karl Strauss is also on the property We will definitely stay here again

Common areas were quite messy with trash piled up, and breakfast was okay I was not given the AAA rate, though I showed my card Wifi was completely inadequate even to check emails much less stream something The biggest problem was that (at the end of a very long day of moving) there was NO HOT WATER The tepid water there was was a disturbing brown color Front desk said he would “see what [he] could do to take care of the situation,” and, though the owner replies that it was fixed 45 minutes later, we never heard from him again and didn’t know it was fixed Apparently Best Western will not do something to make this right; a room with an unusable bath/shower is definitely not worth $374

Fernando at the front desk is a “five star man” as Dennis Reynolds would say The Courtyard is what it is, a standard 3 star hotel, it needs some love here and and there and is a place to sleep with the essentials but far from luxurious It’s fine

We were sent here by another hotel that overbooked us and there was a lot of drama that went into that so I won’t hold them accountable for any of that But because of that I arrived at 1am with lots of road weariness, frustration and zero patience I tried to not take it out on the staff but I still probably wasn’t the most pleasant person to deal with in the middle of the night But Fernando was more than understanding, maintained a positive attitude and took care of us I really appreciate all his support and because of him I’d give the whole experience 5 stars Marriott, give this man a raise

The Lakehouse has always been my favorite place, with its picture-perfect Mountain and Lake San Marcos LSM Marina is a must to enjoy water sports or simply cruise and admire the surroundings I am very happy with the pontoon boat that I rented

I must say that I’ve seen them a lot cleaner back in 2014-2016 and they seem to be the same boats this 2022 which explains why there are stains all around or weather damages on the leather seats, which are understandable when used over the years No complaints on the same awesome experience Just a suggestion if the management wants to improve by sanitizing better, change upholstery or deep-clean everything The staff who answered my call like Liam and the guys assisting at the dock are all very welcoming I’ll still give it a 5⭐️ And we’ll definitely be back

The room itself was pretty standard for a Holiday Inn My biggest disappointment was that their bike rental station did not work -as a triathlete that travels a lot I was so excited to have an option to bike outside but ended up having to use the workout room recumbent bike instead which is really not ideal All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would totally stay here again, just be aware the outdoor bike rentals don’t work!

I was in town on business and booked this hotel The front desk staff was friendly and helpful when asking questions about where to eat in the area I ordered some food and drinks at the bar, great service there! The room was clean and quiet! the only downside if I can complain at all is the wifi seemed a bit lagging

I download and upload a lot of files each day and that was a bummer but can’t complain too much about it I didn’t get to check out the pool or fitness center this trip but I wouldn’t hesitate on staying there again in the future!

The staff at the hotel greeted us nicely upon our arrival We immediately got a room assigned to us and we were explained the breakfast schedule and the housekeeping policy There was always fresh coffee in the dining area

We just had yet another awesome stay at this wonderful property With 5 of us travelling (my wife and 3 children) we need a lot of room so we booked a two bedroom suite and it was perfect, with more than enough room and all the amenities you could want The staff was super friendly and professional and we really felt at home

A special shout out to the lady that runs the activity center and leads the morning hikes She was the greatest! My family really enjoyed some of the art activities that she offered and I was really impressed by her knowledge of the local flora and fauna as she pointed out various interesting bits of information as she led the morning nature hikes The food was great both at the Cove bar and when the wife and I wanted something a little more upscale the Restaurant at the Westin (which was only a two minute walk from our room) was fantastic I’d just like to thank the staff for making our stay so special and in particular Ms Megan Connor the GM who makes it all happen

We moved from the room we reserved because the bedsprings were broken Every turn would have kept us awake The electrical sockets were so loose that our charging devices would not stay in the outlets Second room: dirty wall paper from the 80s, cracked tile floors, old toilet with no pressure, shutter style bathroom sliding panels that needed a deep dusting/cleaning and a rotted wood hand rail that was duct taped to keep it from further rot leading up to the roof top deck, unbelievably The only thing this hotel had going for it was the location We were a block to the ocean and the roof top deck would have been more enjoyable if the chairs hadn’t been so broken I will say the cleaning women did their best considering the poor condition of this property Breakfast was packaged junk muffins that we did not touch We did not drink coffee either This was way overpriced for the condition and decay

My husband and I had to get away for the weekend, from the kids, family, and life, so we last minute booked our stay here, and loved that they allowed us a late checkout, as we arrived late Friday evening- and even though we arrived late, the Best Pizza restaurant was open for outdoor, under the heater eating and drinking amazing beers on tap, including some really good pizza! There was a choice of restaurants, all on that same intersection, which is just above the beach! We enjoyed the rooftop jacuzzi, and the incredible under-the-stars, beach view! This lodge is truly a lodge and feels like you stepped back in time as if you’re in a snow lodge, but they were very clean and professionalWe’ll do this again!

This is in a nice area with easy beach access The room itself was pretty terrible We stayed in the Paradise room, the theme is beachy which is cute but it smells musty and mildewed and the kicker was a sewage smell coming from the drain in front of the toilet in the bathroom

It permeated the entire room We finally covered it up with a towel which helped The bed was also terrible, broken springs and very squeaky, made it hard to sleep The rooftop area is also dangerous; there was a place on it when we were walking around that my boyfriend almost went through a part of it, when he turned to look at what happened he realized it was kind of blocked off-not enough to be obvious, no caution sign or tape I would not recommend this place-maybe some rooms are fine but I will never try this hotel again So many hotel options, this one needs some work

Nice hotel, I got at a discounted price because I was with a group Everything was great until I came back to my room to find BED BUGS not one but a few A lady came in and confirmed that they were in fact bed bugs

After insinuating if the bed bugs might have been mine The hotel switched my room, in the moment, the stress and anxiety I felt at 12am made me never want to come back to this hotel again, I couldn’t even sleep well in the other room in fear that they had traveled or was in the new room Also the new room’s bathroom had a TERRIBLE smell Yea nice hotel I just wouldn’t go back regardless discount or not

A highlight worth mentioning is the excellent breakfast menu Somehow Hilton used the pandemic as excuse to severely downgrade on breakfast quality as well as benefits for status members Not so in Carlsbad, they offer a well crafted breakfast menu that goes well beyond eggs & bacon and with diamond food credits you can actually get more than a cream cheese bagelCan only recommend this place for a get-away or when traveling through Southern California

I got married nearby and every time we had to stay somewhere to plan we stayed here! It is such a clean resort with friendly staff The breakfast was the only upsetting part, there was almost nothing to eat or drink The rooms were perfect and accommodated both bridal parties in their own suites

I found a $400 charge by residence inn on my account I called to inquire about the charge and was accused of stealing pots, pans, and dishes I never got a call of investigation however, I was told by the person who answered the phone that the manager left a voicemail for me

Upon checking my voicemail, there was no message from anyone at the residence inn in San Marcos This is unacceptable and unprofessional This facility has no checks and balances for room inventory and when asked about it there was no solution Their products aren’t even mediocre, they’re cheap and of poor quality No thank you! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Front desk personnel did not immediately acknowledge our arrival even when there were 3 of them just chatting and we are the only people in front of them We arrived at past 3PM expecting that our room would be ready but were told to wait for their call It took more than 30 minutes until they told us our room is available

This is not to mention that I have a Diamond level status which were not even acknowledged at this hotel No offer of room upgrade, no free breakfast, no offer of bottled water nor points And parking is not even free Around 7PM, I went back to the front desk to request for a 2PM late check out next day but I was told to return back to the front desk at 6AM with a condescending tone Went back to the front desk at 6AM as instructed only to be denied and no alternative offered other than being told that they are fully booked On a positive note, the hotel is clean which should be base standard especially for a 4 star hotel I expected this to be a memorable birthday celebration for myself but it gave us a not so good experience Definitely not returning back to this property and now rethinking my future relationship with the Hilton brand

Our room was not ready until 5:00 pm!!! We are Diamond members and we’re told ‘even the manager had to come in to work on a Monday!’ Once in the room the safe had no working parts and the refrigerator was frozen and had to be replaced We went to the lobby for a non existent breakfast of only coffee and pastries

When we asked if they had a plate for the pastries we were told no The bar tables were filthy with food and drink spills When we ask for a rag to clean a table we were told there weren’t any and offered a baby wipe to clean it ourselves The front staff was just standing at the desks and could have at least cleaned the tables And why didn’t the bar staff clean them at night We were told the marketplace is never stocked by the resort hotel There isn’t a breakfast associated with being a Diamond member, no upgrades, no water, no Hilton benefits at all We were also told there are no upgrades at the Tapestry for Diamond members if you booked the room on points, we have never been told this at other Tapestry hotels The rooms are clean and the hotel is an easy walk to Legoland, but what makes this a Hilton property is beyond me This hotel is grossly understaffed

I’m sure your experience will be better than mine and the end of my trip was good but the beginning was a rough one We had the thermostat go out om day one and it was broken the rest of the first day and second day As you might be able to imagine in the summer with kids and no air and nothing they can do it was a bad night

If I was staying a week it might have been fine but night to and day 3 we all sleep and made the vacation with the kids a bit of a loss when it came to taking them to lego land for only 2 hours day 2 because of how tiered they were

Best kept secret in Carlsbad!On a 30 day business trip with little time off and took the shuttle to the beach It was beautiful, I heard a little history on the way to and from, and was pampered like royalty!Staff was informative, helpful and friendly Room was very nice and having the option to eat on property is always a benefit for me!The outdoor space was great with a pool & jacuzzi that is not found in many new hotels these days

Corn hole, ping pong, and many other outdoor games for the kidsTwo minute walk to the beach was convenient, and the view from our room was breathtaking!Hope to bring the family back on vacation

Front Desk Staff was very nice The hotel is very dog friendly, the room was clean and comfortable, the grounds were beautiful plus there were lots of activities to choose from when hanging around outside Loved all the seating areas they had in their courtyard and around the grounds

I would have given 5 stars for my rating, however the restaurant service was not good It took the staff at the restaurant at least 10 min to acknowledge us or anyone else standing there , the tables were not cleared off and the service was a little slow

This hotel is was amazing from the location to the friendly staff It is literally walking distance from a beautiful beach They had beach chairs and toys for us to use

The rooms were remodeled and clean It included a mini fridge and microwave which was a plus!When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly front desk staff They kept our luggage for us since our room wasn’t ready We were headed to Legoland and wanted to keep our luggage safeThey have a grab and go convenient store in the main lobby They also had a bar and restaurant for guests which is convenient if you don’t want to leave your hotel Breakfast buffet was offered for a feeThe pool was big and heated which was perfect for night swimming The jacuzzi was also very warm and relaxingOverall, I would definitely be returning in the future due to the friendly experience we had!Thank you Hilton Garden staff for an amazing stay!
