Marginal Way House has the BEST lawn to sit and enjoy the view, right next to the footpath and off the main road (not noisy like other yard views) This was a last-minute, week-before booking and the staff was polite and I appreciated that they had contact-less check in The room was cozy for my partner and I, the tiled bathroom and waterfall shower were a fantastic surprise!! I’ve stayed here before but on the ground floor (with the best view) – and this stay’s room and experience were equally amazing

Rotten floorboards, rotted empty window boxes along the porch, a recycling bin that hadn’t been emptied in weeks and peeling paint greet guests at this “Bed & Breakfast”Once inside it was evident that the floors had not been cleaned in some time The coffee station was still dirty from the morning even though it was 2:00 p

m Leading up the stairs the carpets were just as dirty Once inside the room, the outside temp was 92 degrees, the windows were open and no AC was running The windows in the whole Inn were filthy I knew I could not stay hereWhen I informed the Inn Keeper that I could not stay he became extremely defensive After discussion he passive aggressively went to his computer and then stated “there I have now charged you for the second night as well”He stated he was a business man and that was his reasoning I decided it was time to leave but took pictures as I left He was rude, unprofessional and by no means a business man A good business man would have come to a resolutionIn my 40 years of visiting Ogunquit, I have stayed in many Inns and B&B’s and never had a bad experience In all my travels in the US and Europe I have never felt I needed to vacate a place that I had reserved and find other lodging

It’s ALWAYS an excellent stay with Andy and Bob! Two of the nicest people you could hope to meet They welcome us to their home everytime we go to Ogunquit, which we’ve lost count of

at least 5 or 6 times in the past 15 years We hope to see them again next Oct/Nov Their home has beautiful rooms that are warm and cozy The breakfast is delicious with great conversations We love it here!

Angela Osman

The Rockmere did not disappoint! Andy and Bob were FANTASTIC hosts and their inn is just as awesome Breakfast is made fresh every morning and the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting The inn has a lot of history and is just a gem in Ogunquit

It is right off of the Marginal Way and is about a half mile from town It is just far enough to be peaceful from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to everything At the end of our stay we were definitely sad to leave We are so very glad we found the Rockmere and will definitely be staying here again!

Convenient walk to downtown and close to the beachHave been here before and will go back again if in Maine

Dianna Wilson

We booked on a third party site and unfortunately I missed a small detail and the room wasn’t the one I wanted…we have stayed there before so I immediate caught the error My advice to travelers is spend the money for the premium rooms, they are nice 🙂

The wonderful lady at the desk jumped right in to help with a solution for us (2 couples-2rooms) She could have been really impossible and dismissive of the issue, but her genuine ability to work through an amicable solution started our trip out right We have stayed here probably 10 times over the years and continue to go back Easy walking (maybe 1/4 mile to center of Ogunquit), but what we love most is indoor/outdoor pool (both are nice) and a hot tub Lesson learned for me (to ensure I stay on hotel site when I book that I am more familiar with and miss clicking on a room I didn’t want) but it all ended well in the end I feel embarrassed I missed her name, but she is an absolute asset to this hotel Thank you again for giving us a great night away and working hard to keep your guest coming back!!!

My only hesitation in giving a glowing five star review is that people will then find out about this absolute hidden gem and book up all the roomsAt any rate, I have to give credit – this inn is located perfectly along the town, only a short walk to the beach You can enjoy the beautiful ocean views from several of the rooms, the front porch, or the garden

Parking is taken care of for your stay as you will be within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the beachThe rooms are beautifully done and very clean, with very comfortable beds and linensBruce was an incredible host, remembering guests by name and offering an amazing breakfast each day with scones or cookies freshly made to snack on throughout the dayFinally, the heated pool and hot tub were a perfect way to end the day and relax

Jonny Kromps

We did a 4 day trip to Ogunquit with some friends, and booked our stay at the 2 Village Sq Inn, and every part of our stay exceeded our expectations Bruce and his staff were extremely helpful and personable Everyone repeatedly went above and beyond with their hospitality

The condition and cleanliness of the Inn was great, and the heated pool & hut tub is the best in the area The hand cooked breakfast every morning was better than most restaurants, and the selections changed every morningWe’ve stayed at other places in Ogunquit, but this was by far the best In the future there is no other choice for a place to stay The only problemthere isn’t a 2 Village Square Inn at other destinations we travel to Everything else is a let down Can’t wait to stay here again

Sean Gowers

Our third stay at 2 VS Inn If I could give more than 5 stars I would Freshly baked scones every morning (different flavor each day, White Raspberry, Apple Cinnamon, Blueberry)

Breakfast starts at 8 and is also almost different each day (Potatoes & Peppers/Onions were the only thing the same…soo good!) Buffet serviceFresh baked cookies and free daily cocktails :)Rooms are nice, very soft sheets, great pool and jacuzziIt’s in the center of town situated on a hill so the views are great and it’s close to everything! My fav thing to do was to sit on the front porch on a rocker with a cup of hot coffee I’m NOT a morning person but being here made me want to wake up early and just relax on the porch

Richard Storer

This is the site of the Storer Garrison where the English settlers of the Town of Wells took refuge during a 4-day attack by French and Indian troops on the town in 1692 There is a monument in a small park to commemorate the event which reads:’To commemorate the defence of Liet Joseph Storer’s garrison on this ground by Capt

James Converse, 29 Massachusetts soldiers, the neighboring Yeomanry of Wells, and various heroic women, June 9, 10 and 11 1992 Whereby 400 French and indians were successfully resisted and Wells remained the Easternmost town in the province not destroyed by the enemy”My family’s ancestor Jeremiah Storer was there with Joseph defending the garrison while another brother, Samuel Storer, commanded a ship at anchor in Wells Harbor, from which ship a shot was fired that killed the French general

We were traveling to Ogunquit for the first time and didn’t know the area We chose Ogunquit Hotel and Suites based on location and availability It turned out to be an amazing location and a great place to stay

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the hotel, the huge pool and hot tub, and the convenience of the location The only downside was the game room The kids tried to go there to play games but the machines didn’t work This didn’t matter to us as we’d rather swim and do other things anyway Overall, when we go back to this area again, we would gladly stay here again!

Aaron Lovejoy

Rooms are nice and spacious All services offered that I used were awesome Hotel is in a decent location close to some other hotels right off Rte

1 in Ogunguit (close to the Moody town line) Hotel staff / front desk staff was very helpful and extremely nice people Overall it’s been an amazingly great stay and the best part is they accepted the voucher I was on, so that helped even more I have nothing but good thing’s to say about this place and highly recommend it

The Sea Chambers is by far my favorite hotel in Maine! I have stayed there many times with family and friends, and recommend it to everyone The office manager, Katie is so kind and truly makes us feel at home The rooms are clean and comfortable, the views are breathtaking, and the pool is amazing

You literally cannot beat this location for the price Thank you Sea Chambers for always giving us such a great experience See you soon!

Arrived in Ogunquit without any reservations

Last minute trip After being told “no” by 3 other facilities, noticed “vacancy” hanging from their main sign It was meant for us to stay here! There had been a cancellation — corner room right on the water Got to hear the ocean waves 24/7 Room was fine, 2 beds, bathroom, microwave and mini-fridge Loved the balcony, basically had it all to ourselves Office staff was so welcoming Some items were left behind in the room and they shipped them to us Great place to stay at Definitely recommend!

Arianna White

Kathy (is that the property manager’s name?) banned my mother and father in law from returning because a group of about a dozen or so of my family members (all of whom rented rooms for multiple nights) gathered on their back lawn for 15 minutes around 2pm on a Saturday in September to watch my mother and father in law exchange wedding vows and take pictures I’m literally disgusted with the level of professionalism that was displayed at this property – as someone with a work history in hospitality I have never seen someone act so disrespectfully toward a group of paying guests I’m hoping to get in touch with the board of trustees and/or the property owner to get an explanation as to why exactly this occurred and I will be sure to give an update when I’ve received more information

Paul Dacus

I’m in my room here right now, and this is a very nice room, and very well maintained property, with a very friendly staff If I am ever near here again, I would definitely stay hereMy only very minor complaints is the wall AC didn’t work, although it was comfy without it, I like fan noise at night

And there is a smoking area outside my room ( sort of self designated by other guests, so not really the motels fault)But the cleanliness of the room, and bed comfort were world class! And very reasonable price Again, staff was very friendly in pointing out places to eat, and directions to the beach, a cool guy

Jim Pillsbury

We have stayed regularly at the Towne Lyne Motel when we’ve visited Ogunquit Although the motel is on Route 1, it’s quiet and peaceful, with a very nice riverside sitting area in the rear The rooms are nicely furnished with comfy chairs, desk, etc

and good comfortable beds The place is a bit old-fashioned in style, but who wants to stay in one of those concrete box hotels anyhow?

Bryce Claburn

We stayed for 4 days recently, and had a great experience, very friendly workers here, and very clean The back smoking area is very nice as well, sitting next to the river in the gazebos and cooking on the grill was awesome, then when night came we sat by a propane fire pitGreat experience all the way around and, i will deffinetly be staying here again

Great location, balcony overlooking the ocean, room was immaculate, friendly and attentive staff Free continental breakfast was ok, nothing special Might be nitpicking but the only negative is their out dated reservation process, they require a check to be mailed in, no credit card or online portal set up

come on Sparhawk this is 2022 not 1970 get with the program! Other than that, highly recommended, would not hesitate to go back👍

B.W. Bushner

Gave five stars but since they seem to have abandoned their “no children” policy, it’s not been as enjoyable Many parents could care less that their children are disturbing everyone They commandeer the pool with their shouting brats

Then the infestation of children spreads to the front lawn Never a moment of peace They take over the porch, running around, shouting, screaming, & speaking loudly Parents do nothingIt was so nice when this place was child-free We’ve been coming reliably *for years* but are considering other optionsOn the plus side, management keep it very clean and the grounds always look fantastic Not the best beds but they are sufficient They work hard to be good hosts and the staff is delightfulTruth is it is a wonderful place to stay with a fantastic owner

Violet

This was my first visit to this beautiful Inn and my only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer Our room (114) had a large, enclosed porch that faced the ocean and I could hear that soothing sound all day! The service was amazing, and the staff was so sweet and friendly Our room was lovely and clean, and the bathroom was large and comfortable

The INN is within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, the beach, and anything you could want in the beautiful town of Ogunquit! Unfortunately, we had to cut our visit short due to a personal matter, but I hope to be back someday to visit again!

Michelle Plouse

You won’t be disappointed The price is right, the rooms, although a bit dated are impeccably clean Couldn’t get over how clean

That was a huge plus for us The grounds are perfect and have a wonderful view of ogunquit beach Their landscaping is lovely and I especially loved the line of flowers leading to the entrance The staff was so pleasant and very accommodating Our room had a loft which was great for my son and his fiancé and my husband and I had a comfy queen bed and my daughter had one as well Perfect little family suite! So close to everything! Perfect location and the breakfast, while not fantastic in choices, had plenty Fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, toast coffee and juices Cereal and yogurt Enough to start your day and all served on a lovely porch overlooking the ocean We will consider this place again because the location is perfect and again CLEAN! We were there on the 1st of June 2022

Tanto Mane

Noticeable dosh has been funneled into improving room conditions, flooring, and balconies Supremely welcoming front desk assisted with furnishing a “Pack n’ Play” for our wee one Private balconies offer incredible ON THE BEACH views that other establishments fail to provide

The beach itself was inviting without an obnoxious amount of people You’ll certainly pay for your spontaneity with some alarmingly potent seasonal rates, however This facility is regrettably NOT handicap friendly as wellPro-tips: The spaces adjacent the front offices are available for use during your stay Be mindful of the rear staircases towards the ocean on particularly sunny days especially when barefoot!

Matt Roe

Located right on Wells Beach The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable which made for an even better stay Upon arriving at check in the kind staff upgraded us to a suite which had even more space

I assume it was because she notice we had two young children with us Lots of great restaurants nearby Overall great stay and would stay again

Overall, the Anchorage is a nice place to stay, but I do feel it is a bit overpriced for what you get For the same amount of money you can get flight and hotel to some other destinations for around $300 more The pool area is nice, but is very crowded as the pools are not that big

The thing is, there aren’t many places with pools in OGT, especially on the marginal wayThe room we stayed in, in the towers, was a little smaller than a standard hotel room You could not set the air conditioning unit to your desired temperature, the toilet was a bit loose and the soundproofing between floors was not great Additionally, the air conditioner was loud and would turn on and off throughout the night, waking you up You could not keep the AC fan on, which would have been enough white noise to drown out the people above usWhile I understand they are trying to keep non-guests away from the pool area, I felt uneasy at the pool and on the grounds as they are constantly “patrolling” This can make it difficult to relaxFor some bright spots: the location is beautiful and the grounds are meticulously kept The reception staff are all very nice There are only a handful of hotels on the marginal way If you want to be on the marginal way and have a pool, there aren’t many other options Overall it feels like a five start location with a three star hotel in terms of value and overall experience

Awesome location right on Marginal Way The rooms are clean and nicely furnished The hot tubs and pools are open late, which is a great perk

The staff is awesome, very friendly and accommodating They have live music on certain nights during the summer, and nothing beats watching the sunset from the lawn No matter where you stay on this property (there are multiple buildings), you’re bound to love it

Great spot and amenities Had some good service and some poor service Rooms are not worth the price

This place charges extra for everything Anyone over 3 is considered an adult in the room and has an extra cost The worst part was the constant scrutiny felt while staying here There was security everywhere and not for safety of the guests To catch people doing things that they can charge more for It was very hard to relax when the pool attendants are constantly checking wristbands and front staff is watching cameras of all parts of the resort Not sure I will return Definitely not worth the cost

Lived here for many years and never visited the Norseman Great location and one of the only places on the water that was open in March Rooms redone, work done is so so, but I got a corner room and you can’t beat the location and view

It was still under renovations and it would have been nice to know this, but not a big deal Construction noise started at 7 but really, we came for the view and it didn’t disappoint Decent size fridge freezer which is great if you stop at Anthony’s in York and stock up for your stay like we did

Andrea

When I called a couple months ago for a reservation I was told the Dune building had an elevator I made a reservation for the 2nd floor No working elevator

I am handicapped, and held my breath every time I went up and down stairs The shower water did not get warm enough The drain was stopped up in shower and water went all over floor This place was not up to my standards I will never stay there again Poor parking

Jessica Riberio

Paid over $600 for one night! Just to have the service be terrible The food to be terrible and most importantly our ac put on the coolest it could go and my whole family be up all night because it was so hot I told the manager in the morning and he says we should have told him and they would have fixed it in 20 mins…

In the middle of the night Why we would think to call down to the office at Norseman and say our ac is blowing warm air and think for one second they it would be fixed in 20 minutes late at night when we got back Do not waste your money

We stayed in a queen room on the second floor and although the bed was very noisy, we had a great stay The room is very small but we expected the size with an historical inn built in 1799 We were also made aware by a note in the bathroom that the water takes a while to heat so that wasn’t a surprise at all

I loved the fact that the inn is historic and even has a resident ghost, Silas! I was disappointed to learn the restaurant wasn’t open during our stay, we missed it being open by a day, but I’ve read great reviews and hope to try it again on another trip to the area My husband and I sat in the rocking chairs on the front porch and watched the world go by Needless to say it was very relaxing Parking was directly behind the inn and the ease getting to the room was appreciated My only recommendation is to provide a cooling fan for the rooms We were there the second week of May and it was unseasonably warm during the day so the room was a bit hot We left the windows open and when night came, our room was very cool Overall, a great stay

We thoroughly enjoyed a work dinner here a few weeks ago Our servers were attentive and friendly and the food was amazing We loved the tater tots–try them, it might sound dubious at first, but they were easily our favorite appetizer! We got to meet Nick, the chef, before our dinner and we were impressed by his manner as well as his cooking

Maybe we’ll get to stay sometime and enjoy the inn, but so far, we highly recommend the restaurant!PS Also loved the historical character and nods to the past left in the building Will be back!

I had dinner at The Tavern and it was excellent I had the crab stuffed citrus ravioli and it was topped with succulent shrimp and mussels I also found the perfect wine to pair with my meal, on their great wine list

Dessert was a creamy salted caramel cheesecake that was just mouth watering! The atmosphere is warm and comfortable And the service by Deb was fantastic! I’ll definitely be back!

Wonderful location, beautiful hotel, the rooms are very nice, pool area is very enjoyable with a hot tub Overall I really enjoyed the time I spent at this hotel The people that work there are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area

I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Wells, Maine and I must say this is going down as one of the best I still call Layfette Ocean Front Resort the best hotel in Wells, Maine because it’s directly at the ocean and the workers are so nice and helpful, but Sea Mist I do recommend to anyone vacationing in Wells, Maine

We stay here every year for the past 10+ years The rooms are large and clean There is a small kitchenette which is super convenient

They have recently upgraded to larger smart TVs so we can watch NETFLIX, YouTube, Hulu or any other service If it rains there is an awesome indoor pool and hot tub There is not a better place to stay for the price We will be back again next year!

Kallah Ecklund

Clean room, friendly staff, and great parking Very happy that they were a pet friendly place for us to go with our dog No elevator to the second floor had to lug coolers and suitcases up and down the stairs

We knew there was a kitchenette but we’re not expecting no stove or hot plate We had a small dorm sized refrigerator and microwave Full set of dishes, bowls, glasses and utensils along with serving utensils or provided

Service people are nice at front desk, rooms are pleasant decor, no mold smell, but stuffy if air isn’t on Everything is bleached but it doesn’t get the mold out Huge concern is for the mold hidden in pillows that shows up in the morning on the pillow cases

Housekeeping indifferent when brought to their attentionIt’s the Only game in town most of the hotel’s owned by the same family for close up ocean views But it’s currently Not worth the price if you leave with respiratory issues and congestion It use to be better

Deneen Cole-Ashbury

I found this online Reviews were generally good I wanted something g bear the beach with character

You get that here! We got an ocean view walkout that was literally steps to the beach The view was incredible!!Our room was perfect for my mum and I There was a micro and fridge AC unit was very good and a wall mounted fan for overnight The beds were very comfy The decor very beachy and the two chairs were comfortable to hang out in when the evening bugs got out of hand You are here for the beach and the views and smell of the ocean – not to lounge inside – remember that!!I can’t wait to come back to Lafayettes Oceanside Resort!!
