Great stay! Amazing breakfast staff and much to choose from breakfast bar Front desk staff friendly, helpful and accommodating Room was clean and comfortable

My only issue is the carpeting which I am not a fan of Hotel’s location is ideal Easy walk to cafes, restaurants, movie theater and train station Downtown area has definitely been revitalized and the historical stockade section is an added attraction

Maria Drulyk

Jennifer who answered my questions at this hotel through the phone was so helpful I was originally going to come to Schenectady for the VIA aquarium and the innovation and science museum I asked her about these two attractions and she was honest with me and told me that they were more centered for children

She helped me find other attractions that I was interested in in another area Very helpful Great customer service 5 stars for handling customer questions and she was very genuine

Deborah Milliken

The room was fine I called to have the air conditioning adjusted and that was done quickly and with friendly service As it is now, there is no maid service unless requested so I had a lot of trash after a 2 night stay

The biggest problems were that there were not carts to take luggage to the room or to the car ever available and the room keys did not work well I wasn’t the only one with key problems Many others had problems also Location is good Many restaurants very close

This is my final review to update When we followed up on our previous complaint about how out bathroom door was broken, couldn’t shower without the fire alarm going off & never received any apologies Instead I’m blamed for being upset when I had to leave my hotel room naked in a towel with my dog and baby

Management handled this poorly and made me feel so unwelcomed all because I was a stressed with a baby and didn’t appreciate workers assuming there was smoking going on Please fix your doors and fire alarms ALSO if you claim to be pet friendly you really shouldn’t be telling your guests your animal can’t bark…why are you even pet friendly then? If you come to this hotel expect a decent breakfast and a nice night crew staff Besides that they’re all fake and make their guests feel like it’s their fault instead of simply being nice and sorry I wouldn’t bring your animal and prepared to take a cold shower or have your doors broken I don’t need the owner to reply to this review because she already wrote a report about me Beauty of freedom of speech

Went there for a birthday getaway They gave me a dirty room, I went to the front desk and asked if I can have a different room They said it was booked up

Now I checked in at 10 pm, I didn’t check in early so I was really confused as to why there were coffee/tea stains all over the kitchen counter, the microwave had dirty hand prints and there was product residue all over the mirror and sink in the bathroom It was evident that the room wasn’t cleaned at all They offered someone to clean the bathroom How they worded it was that this day was the cleaning lady’s day off but she can clean it for me, as if a favor was being done I didn’t get this room for free, I paid for it and someone didn’t know how to do their job which isn’t my fault Driving 35 hrs after work to a place like that was frustrating as hell because I ended up cleaning the room myself And this is why I bring my own sheets and Lysol, places like this is unhygienic Such a disappointment because I’ve been to Hilton hotels in America and international and this has to be my worst experience

This is a great hotel The staff were very friendly and welcoming However, on our second day the cleaning staff did not clean our room, so we had to ask for clean towels and more toilet paper, which was kind of a let down for a hotel with such a reputation

Moreover, one towel which was provided to us (although clean) was torn Not a huge deal but for $630 for two nights you would expect better

Grant Brown

I normally avoid staying downtown but that may change now that I have found this place!Beautiful and historic lobby with modern, crisp guest rooms Super comfortable bed Zero noise from neighbors/hallway

Great water pressure and temp Staff were pleasant and welcomingI would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a hotel in the area!

Melissa Bridle

Spent last night here Hotel is beautiful, staff are very friendly, beds are very comfortable Giving it a 3 because when I checked in they gave me a room with a view of a brick wall and am air conditioner, asked to be moved and they readily had other rooms available

The rooms also could use a deep clean Not sure if they just don’t give their staff enough time to clean, but the bed frames need a vacuum and there’s lots of dust and grime in the less seen areas (bed frames, ledges of the sill on the sliding bathroom door, edges of desk and bathroom counters, etc)

Rob Gustafson

We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our stay The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms are immaculate and well taken care of It’s easy to get to but far enough of the main road so we’re not bothered by the traffic noise

My only issue is there are no USB ports in the rooms Most hotels now have lamps and/or outlets that have them Not a big deal but worth noting, so people know they will need to bring charging cubes with them when they stay

Pastle Bestys

The accommodations are as they present online, but for me it was the STAFF that had made this our GO TO spot in Albany, NY The front desk clerk Casey is always absolutely wonderful! She really makes you feel like we are old friends and goes absolutely out of her way to accommodate! Another honorable mention is the new cook SAMMY! This last time we were here we had the pleasure of meeting him and tasting his delicious HOME COOKING! If you are looking for a beautiful and conveniently located hotel in Albany this is the place to be! If you are looking for a hotel that SHOWS they care about your experience then Staybridge Albany IS the only hotel I can recommend in Albany that truly has it all! See for yourself

T.D. Martino

Beautiful lobby, room, wonderful concierge and food staff Everyone made sure I was comfortable The concierge were friendly and helpful

The food staff made sure everyone wore masks and used gloves prior to touching the food My only complaint was my bed covers weren’t too clean and floor needed to be mopped It’s just an uncomfortable feeling during these times I would have given it 5 starsHowever, I would return to this hotel It was also reasonably priced

Sacred Jervis

Clean, modern and great employees The free breakfast and 24/7 coffee, tea & hot chocolate was really nice Digital check in and check out is wonderful! The pool area was clean, adequately stocked with towels and was very warm! The cable was also surprisingly really good as well

Lots of channels including Disney, HBO, etc Truly a family hotel I do wish that the rooms included a closet but overall I’m really happy with my stay

Cana White

Very newer looking building however the minimal feel of no closet or dresser or other furniture was disappointing Questionable how clean the bathroom really was as the soap dispenser were not refilled Your area to hang anything hangs over the small kitchenette area so you can brew coffee under your permanent press

If you like firm mattresses this is the place for you View was the roof and due to hardwood lamented floors everything echoes and you hear your neighbors very wellHotel was not busy so not sure why we had to be put in a room with adjoining door when we were not traveling with anyone elseDeposit amount was pretty steep for what we were already boating for and they still holding it after checking out more than 24 hrs ago We were hardly in the room to do anything more than sleepGreat location if you are doing shopping trip to Crossgates Pool are ran out of towels and didn’t seem to have anyone checking non it during the prime swim timeAnd finally having staff in the elevator with you having their own conversation but using foul language in front of my family was not really appreciate or felt appropriate for the work placeSeem to be upset that we dated to get on the elevator with them

The front desk man was the rudest person I’ve ever spoken to in my life He made me want to jump across the table and beat him up No one should talk to another person like he talked to my mother and I

We told him that there were roaches as well as bed bugs in my room and my other family members room He said they will have to do an investigation before they can refund my money or anything else I have bed bug bites all over me Also, the front desk man said they allow cats and dogs in the hotel which is so dirty! And people that have allergies to pets should not have to stay in a room where animals were before We spent over 1k for rooms with this hotel, for a family wedding Over 160 of my family members stayed at this hotel and we will never ever come back here! Horrible service horrible hotel I’m a gold member for Hilton and I promise I will never come back to a Hilton hotel

Dana Newman

Didn’t happen We had tickets to a show in town that was postponed (we are from CT, so NOT close by)We decided to still come and stay

When we arrived, we were informed that the pet fee (not deposit!) Is $75 Nowhere in my booking confirmation did it say that, and the stated pet policy on the Expedia listing said $75 per WEEK (This is after finding out – surprise- there’s only valet parking on site !?)I told the young man at the desk that although I had selected a pet address, there was nothing about it in my confirmation, nor the follow up I received yesterday I’m used to paying an extra fee for the dog, but it’s usually less than half that While the man and I were talking, the young lady comes over and starts lecturing me about how I cannot leave my dog alone in the room, which I would NEVER do, and hadn’t brought up Neither of them cared that the policy was misleading, and felt dishonest, and they also didn’t seem to care that it was enough to make us leave So we just ate the $150 we paid in advance for the room We were going to come back for the reschedule of this show, and a few others, but our interactions left us feeling very “had” We’d love for you to make this right, but after our experience, aren’t expecting much Customer retention seems to be a thing of the past

Geraly Guzman

Hotel location is good Staff at the hotel is very nice and welcoming, Valet parking is super quick Hotel is old but is well maintained

The room just need a little upgraded Carpets looks so dirty and smells bad And the bed we all love hotel’s beds that’s the best part of me staying at hoteles that mattress had a whole in the middle bed super uncomfortable and when I call downstairs some one was like o you only staying for 1 night That was no the correct answer I have the worst back pain for all time

Unexpectedly decent hotel! Stayed here for a single night while attending an event in Downtown Albany Our venue was just about a 3 minute drive to the location, so we opted for an uber which came in minutes Parking was easy on site and in a covered lot

Check in and check out were easy Breakfast was decent with the usual items we haven’t had in NY for almost 2 years since the pandemic started It was nice to sit down and have breakfast Will definitely stay when we’re in the area again

Scott Lamoureux

The pool was not open as the person who answered the phone told me it was 2 days prior to arrival This was the highlight of the trip for my stepdaughter The entrance to our room smelled like a wet dog and housekeeping did not bring new towels or make our beds as expected

Breakfast decent The location was perfect for the event we were attending but if I were to visit Albany again I would look elsewhere

Lisa S

I am a IHG member and I am a fan of the Holiday Inn Express This hotel is in a pretty good location right off the 787 and it is close to some really good restaurants and points of interest I stayed on the second floor and my room was large, clean and very comfortable

The only issue was with the cable You had to go to channel 1 to find out what was on as every channel you clicked on didn’t have the information available They serve a pretty standard complementary breakfast (eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels, muffins, etc) and they provide free parking for guest, which I greatly appreciated I overall enjoyed my stay and will definitely book another reservation in the future

Why do we need instructions to clean up your room and bathroom in a hotel?????We were very frustrated with this hotel1st night we could sleep because AC made a tremendous noise Next morning although we informed at front desk, unfortunately when we arrived at night nobody fixed it and even worse

room and bathroom were not cleaned Hotel gave us a new roomThe 3rd day when we arrived at night, room and bathroom were not cleaned either Hotel explained that we should have left a tag giving instructions to housekeeper

Camille Townshend

Everyone who works there was extremely helpful and the room was cleanTiffiany Wilson the night time desk clerk went above and beyond my expectations to help us with our wheelchair bound son to make sure we had everything we needed She was very willing to stop by our room several times to bring up items we needed

She was a blessing on a very stressful night

$199 plus tax for the room The room was pretty and clean There was a stong bleach smell when you walk into the battroom

There were some stains on the pillow case and comforter but it was not the worst All-around the hotel looked fairly new The complementary breakfast was tour standard hotel food but they notify people that the eggs had pieces of ham in it for those who are kosher/halal

clotilde palmiero

We had been traveling for 6 hours with our 3 kids and were really looking forward to stay there for the night and we arrived and they were overbooked We had reserved and pre paid the room 5 months ago The customer service at the front desk was poor: they did not apologize or empathize (our kids were clearly tired from the car, maybe offer water or something?)

They tried to blame it on us first (We had to find the reservation in our emails to show the date) and then the booking site It took them half an hour to reimburse us and left us with no room for the night and no apology Homewood suite? Never again

Beautiful, well-maintained 19th century building in a historic district of Schenectady, 4 minutes from Union College The hotel, over all, has the feeling of a stately home of a wealthy family from the 1800s The room was spotless, with really high ceilings and windows

Heating came from a single radiator unit, but the room warmed up surprisingly quickly Beds felt new (firm mattress, no lumps), and the room had some elegant touches, like a central chandelier The bathroom was spotless Being an older building, it took a few minutes for the shower to warm up, but there was plenty of hot water once it did The bathroom was shower-stall only, which worked fine for me The doors are locked at 10pm, but when we arrived after midnight, the night manager answered after a single ring and was at the door to let us in within seconds He offered us water or coffee before sending us off to bed, and both he and the morning manager were pleasant and helpful The hotel is not friendly to the mobility impaired There was no wheelchair accessible entrance, and there are several steps to get to the front door All of the rooms are upstairs, and the single elevator seems too narrow for a wheelchair The event space looks lovely Continental breakfast was muffins, bagels, fresh fruit, single-serving cereals or oatmeal, and bottled water or juices, in addition to coffee or tea Nothing fancy, but a pleasure to eat in the leather library chairs or in front of the sitting room fire (gas) Parking is not well-marked but is abundant and accessible in lots behind the building or across the street Would definitely stay again

Wyatt Knowlton

The rooms are somewhat basic, though not in a bad way, with showers and bathroom amenities all being covered Even the cot that was provided was very nice For being hundreds of years old the place is in great shape

The original elevator still runs and is a cool novelty if you are in to that sort of thing, though there are only three floors so ypu probably won’t be using it much The place has PLENTY of parking and is situated in a very nice area close to numerous restaurants and other stores, some of which can be found just down the street and are easily within walking distance Overall, I had a great experience and I very much enjoyed my stay, especially for the great price

Stéphane Blanchinet

The room was amazing, but so is the building, and Christian the manager that night provided an amazing service A trove of information, very helpful dedicated to his job and to the hotel I needed an hotel with something different and clearly not a chain

The Stockade is amazing with a rich history a strong cachet and has a very dedicated employee with ChristianMany thanks

Everything was fine until checkout I was staying here for six nights and called the front desk on my last night to ask for a late checkout He said I could check out at 1:00, which was great

This morning I had housekeeping knocking on my door at 11 AM, then again at noon At 12:19 I had a call from the front desk asking how much more time I needed I told him that I called the night before and was told I could have until 1:00 He said he didn’t have that on his sheet and could give me until 12:30 What kind of customer service is this? Don’t let the door hit you on the way out

Cassidy Lynn

The room was nice and staff were pleasant (although when we called the front desk and asked what time check-out was, the person told us noon, and housekeeping told us the next morning it was actually 11am)However, my car was parked basically right in front of the door and in direct view of the security camera, and it still got broken into overnight Security is nonexistent Would not stay again for this reason

Robert Kessler

This visit started out promising Stephanie was fun at the front desk Doubletree has a standing policy not to clean rooms every day unless you request it daily

This seems like a way to manage staffing shortages or reduce costs at the guests expense Lobby Coffee is not available until 645 The restaurant “opens” at 630 Lights come on anywhere between 630 and 7 Safety latch in room had been busted open It was fixed in a timely fashion Cleaning in room was mediocre Streaks on windows and mirrors The location is good Safe area with several close restaurants

This was a completely unplanned hotel stay that my kids and I will remember forever Our entire county lost power in residential areas and I wasn’t able to find a hotel closer to home Chose this hotel specifically because it has the indoor pool and hot tub, but also a great price for an immaculate hotel

Everything was so clean The staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast in the morning was probably the most beautiful set up I have seen with a great selection They have a clean, spacious dining area that had more of a cafe feel to it The pool and the hot tub were exactly what we had hoped for, not too crowded either The hot tub and pool were both handicap accessible- this is something I love seeing, even if we don’t use itAll around, a great stay for an awesome price

OG BassheadMom

Those people who left a negative review have obviously never stayed at some of the other hotels in the area I’ve been traveling back and forth to Albany for a while now and all I can say is do not go for the cheaper hotels Last time,, let’s just say I have never been so disgusted by a hotel room in my life

so, when I got to my room at LA Quinta I was so happy The room was nice, clean and the bed was comfortable The staff was friendly and helpful My son had a good time in the pool and the breakfast was nice too I can’t stress this enough – it is not worth it to go for the cheaper places Spend the extra $50 and stay here, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised

We didn’t get the room we reserved but could use the room we got if we had a roll away Do you think 1 was available at anytime during the stay? Nope Our key was some how deactivated nearly every day, which led to a trip to the front desk

The continental breakfast was truly pitiful as well The staff was really good despite these glaring issues Always friendly and did whatever they could to help At best, meh

The Crowne Plaza Albany is an absolute outstanding hotel that provides great quality rooms, superbly made meals and first class serviceIn March of 2022, I brought and treated my wife and myself for a weekend stay at the Crowne Plaza Albany and we enjoyed every moment of our time at the hotel!!!We were warmly welcomed and graciously treated by the hotel’s staff and our hotel room was quite spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean!!!The highlight of the Crowne Plaza Albany and our favorite part of the hotel was its immaculate indoor courtyardThe courtyard is filled with multiple dining areas, a gorgeous fountain and guests are able to view it from the comfort of their own room

My wife and I also enjoyed our breakfast at Mr D’s Restaurant & Lounge and found both our meal and the service of the restaurant’s staff to be superb!!!Both my wife and I enjoyed our time and experience at the Crowne Plaza and definitely recommend for all travelers to stay at this wonderful hotel!!!

I have never had a more pleasant experience I was there this past Sunday and the staff made me feel beyond welcome, but the bartender Anthony went above and beyond what I would expect He was fast, made amazing drinks and was extremely charismatic

I have never had more fun and felt more comfortable at any other bar! I would absolutely recommend going to Mr D’s you will not be disappointed

Interesting hotel layout; it was built by American Airlines in 1974 when they tried to get into that business Their theme was an old time America thing, which resulted in a unique hotel The hotel has two atriums that are like old town squares

The hotel was clean and the staff was good The meeting rooms were great, especially the theater They have a shuttle to the airport, but not to the train station Many people with my group arrived by rail, so that would have been nice The place is obviously popular for weddings because I saw three while I was there I was impressed with their catering I went to a banquet there and the food was great

The hotel is conveniently located right off the highway Its so close to lots of shopping and restaurants- some you can even walk to! Check in and out was super easy

Plenty of parking on site The rooms are a bit tight but clean When we got in we saw the sheets were not clean We told the front desk and they had someone change the sheets immediately The pool was not so clean tho – water was murky Also, we asked for additional blankets and pillows and were told that as we had a double room, we could not get anything additional That was strange The breakfast was a great option to have – they had a hot breakfast and also items that were easy to grab and go They had hot water all the time in the lobby so you can always make a coffee or something The rooms have a microwave and fridge which is super useful especially if you are traveling with kids Lots of outlets in the room also for various electronics

The place is clean! Comfortable! It is a wonderful hotel, I just wish they would put effort into it Things are falling apart, the showerheads are awful Great pressure, but just old needing a soak (the showerhead)

Cheap toiletries Stale breakfastIt’s like the place has everything you want, but at a C grade ratingYou get what you pay for, it’s not bad, just could be so much more

Brianna Byam

Spent almost $225 for 1 night (opposed to the advertised $95) and was so disappointed When you walk into the lobby it’s outdated and the carpet smells Unfortunately, our room smelled worse- with carpet stains all over

Woke up and my mother with autoimmune issues is horribly sick We had to leave right away Not sure if there is mold, but if there is- wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the carpets Neither of us felt comfortable barefoot and even wore our sandals in the shower which was also stained We couldn’t wait to leave and just felt dirty If we could have found another place, we would have left immediately requested a refund- but there was no availability elsewhere and we drove 3+ hours Unfortunate

My family stayed here for an appointment they had in the area My aunt said that during the trip she felt at ease staying at this hotel They said check-in was easy for them, the rooms were super clean, and -all of the staff was great

Specifically, the night auditor, who was very kind, patient, and helpful when my aunt needed help printing some forms out We would definitely recommend it here again, and would give 10 stars if we could! 🙂

Rooms were great, very clean and well equipped Beds were comfortable Needed extra towels and we had to go get them ourselves which was a new experience

Not terrible but not convenientWould definitely go backBreakfast was a big disappointment as they were short of many items and it was staffed by just 1 person (cook and front counter person)

Stayed at this location a few times during the pandemic, however I suppose after the pandemic new staff came on boardI had an issue at check in & the young lady on staff didn’t know how to check someone in using points she had to make a phone call to the manager to figure it out No big deal right

However, I came back a few weeks later and it was the same lady at the front desk, again she didn’t know how to check me in , she had to call the manager again, this time proceeded to tell me it was my debit card, which I was looking at my bank account and it had plenty of funds in there, on top of that I tried a different card & the lady proceeded to tell me my cards were not working, which I know wasn’t true because after I left I went to an appointment and checked into another hotel and had absolutely no issues with any cards on file She proceeded to blame me in front of other customers telling me my card is declining I have never had an issue there before, or ever when checking in so I expressed to call corporate because I feel like the employee needed better training However, I tried to book there again because I like the location, I’m a college student and it’s right there next to the college, well I received an email informing me I wasn’t allowed back at that property For whatever reason , so I thought I’d share my experience for those of you who might be checking in under a different rate than the normal booking If you had a long day of travel beware of the under trained employees and be prepared to book a different location

I stayed last weekend for my child’s tournament and it was great!! Staff was very kind and helpful as we were from out of state and didn’t know much about the area Rooms and building were very clean The pool was also great, the kids had a blast

The GM was amazing, she was so friendly and made sure everything was up to our standards Thank you Park Manor for taking such good care if us! Definitely will book again when we play again next year

Major letdown We stayed at this location a few years back and it was amazing We were very disappointed this time

Upon walking in, we noticed the lobby floor was not very clean Check-in was a 20-minute process because no rooms were ready even though we arrived around 4:00 pm, an hour after check-in time began When we finally got a room, there were no bath towels, wash cloths, or bath mat, and the toilet paper was not on the roller There was a hand towel in the bathroom which was smelly One of two coffee mugs was missing from the coffee maker On my reservation it says “full breakfast” and the representative at check-in confirmed that hot breakfast is served in the morning for $10 which we were looking forward to since it was so good the last time we stayed here However, when morning came, there was no hot breakfast being served The dining room was dark and empty except for coffee, cereal and muffins When asked about the advertised breakfast, the woman at the front desk told us there was no hot breakfast on Mondays So why does it state “Cooked-to-order breakfast available for a fee daily 7:00 AM–11:00 AM: USD 10 per person” on the travel websites? No explanation was given It’s a shame because this hotel has a beautiful interior and could be so much more but it has gone downhill since the last time we stayed here From the minute we arrived and our room wasn’t ready, to the next morning when there was no hot breakfast as promised, Park Manor disappointed with basic things
