Located just north of Avon Park on Lake Brentwood, Hunnewell’s Cottages are a wonderful choice while visiting the Avon Park/Sebring area Each “cottage” (actually, more like a cozy duplex apartment) is spotlessly clean with comfortable bed(s), mini-fridge, microwave, convenient parking right outside your door, updated bathrooms, and a lake with a dock just steps away There is a clubhouse with a full kitchen for cooking when a microwave won’t do

The clubhouse also features couches and chairs, a pool table, and a large wall mounted flat screen television Restaurants and big-box shopping centers are located within a couple of miles in Avon Park proper if you require anything, and the locally owned restaurants are a very good choice over the national chain places The Hunnewell’s are absolutely great people and any issue is dealt with as soon as possible We mentioned a squeaky hinge that we were afraid was going to bother our neighbors and it was corrected the same morning Try to get that kind of service at a big national property! We will certainly return to Hunnewell’s the next time we’re in the area to visit family

Our stay was wonderful! Room was clean and had a lot of space Location is beautiful, as we enjoyed fishing off the dock and relaxing in the cute outdoor sitting area in the evening Maria was extremely helpful upon check-out with research and recommendations for our continued trip to the west coast area

She printed out potential attractions, and even called hotels for us! Would recommend to anyone in the area!

Mallen Alley

New and clean, when you arrive Decent breakfast area, sort of bland choices, but not awful Of course to save money you have to beg for towels or any room services

Little sign on the bathroom mirror let you know that for your comfort, they won’t be providing what used to be considered basic service But for a $60 a night hotel what do you expect,,,,,,, oh wait, it’s $200 a night Well, whatever, it’s for my comfort anyway

New brand of hotel under the Hilton portfolio and I’m a fan!Modern decor and bright colors make for a tasteful breath of fresh airThis property is no exception!Lake views on either side No balconies, but there is a nice view from the dock behind the property

Conveniently located off of Hwy 27 in Sebring and just a few minutes from several points of interest such as parks, restaurants, great fishing spots and even Sebring International Speedway!

There was nothing to complain aboutClean rooms Friendly accommodating staff

Smelled good 24/7 coffee Plenty of fresh towels Comfy bed Free breakfast The only thing I can think to fuss about is that the free travel size lemon/sage hand lotion is too small😂 It smells and feels wonderful And I might also fuss that when I asked housekeeping for an extra one, she only gave me 3😂It was a flawless experience*while I feel ALL motel prices are too high right now, it WAS the best rate in town

Angela Paulk

I’ve stayed here 3-4 times and never been disappointed except for this time After check-in Immediately took elevator to 2nd floor to my room Once I got off of the elevator the entire hallway reeked of Marijuana smoke, I thought this was a non smoking facility

The bathroom shower water was lukewarm and had little pressure The bath cloths was so thin that Ì could literally see through them, they need replacements asap Other than that my room was comfortable as usual

Young girl at the desk last night was a sweetheart! Check in was so easy! The most amazing thing about our stay was breakfast and the Cafe attendant, Ray! This man can not be making what he is worth!!! He helped my Daddy without even being asked! An elderly lady who shook badly and was burning herself with coffee, Ray seen and reacted without a word, took her coffee and seated her, then he made her plate! Please give this angel a raise!!!!

Pros: Comfortable beds, soft and fluffy pillows, plenty of room in the bedroom and bathroom and checking in and out was easy Continental breakfast had hot/cold options: instant oatmeal (variety of flavors), variety of muffins, some bagels, toast, fresh fruit, a couple of diff juices, cereal, milk, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and gravy and some other optionsCons: price was high for the area it is in (just my opinion), pool was dirty and unavailable for use (it happens, I understand) and there were some bugs in our room (maybe rain brought them in)

Richard Lukaszuk

Good breakfast with plenty to chose from Room was nice, and large bathroom was a plus Staff was helpful when notified of conditioner being empty very prompt at handing it! The only unsatisfactory thing I have to say about it is the security

The side doors entrance to the building weren’t locked their was a piece of tape holding the latch in the whole of stay, making it so anyone from the streets can just walk in The young concierge just gave a key without any verification to my brother in-law (different last name) who wasn’t on the room a key 🔑 without my consent, when I was out and about Makes me wonder if joe shmow could of just gotten a key to any room they asked for 🤦 Other then that I would of given 5 star’s

Well kept RV park Mostly seasonal but they have a nice area for transients We stayed for the weekend in the transient area

Large sites and can accommodate big rigsI give it 4 stars due to these reasons Sites have full sun no trees Not a lot of privacy The only other negative is no picnic tables or fire rings They only allow propane fireplaces, no wood fires It defeats the whole point of camping Other than that it is a nice campground and well maintained

We are staying here for what should have been a two week stay, but due to health reasons I’ve had to extend our stay twice The park manager was so gracious and helpful both times I extended our stay The residents of the park are very friendly, the pool is nice and it overlooks Lake Glenada, and the park is very dog friendly

It would have been nice to have a picnic table, but we made the best of it I would recommend staying at this park

David Brown

No heated pool,,they never repair anything Every time there is a water leak the whole park goes down

The heated pool is a joke They patch and patch it but never ever stop and do the necessary upgrades and make s full repair They had a culvert collapse last summer and instead of replacing it with the proper pipe they put in a round pipe again instead of a pipe that was egg shaped and wouldn’t leave such a big bump in the road The old pipe was moved to the side and is still there, upside down in all ot its rusting glory! Chunks of cement are scattered around either side to protect the new water line they put in, because they broke the main water line that someone had put through the middle of the rotting culvert No job ever gets finished There is a horrible stink from the main pumping station that could be lightened by sealing the top and installing 2 or 3 12 to 15 ft pipes topped with carbon filters and that would knock the stink down a ton Like most parks there are lots of folks who would be more than happy to give their years of experience in a particular area of operations and volunteer to help, but get very discouraged when management won’t even listen What is the reason we stay, is the incredible people, the love that is shown and the wonderful CHRISTIAN ATTITUDES THE VOLUNTEERS THAT WORK TIRELESSLY TO MAKE IT A HAPPY PLACE LAKE GLENADA HAS SO MUCH POTENTIAL TO BE A GREAT PARK AND TO BE A PLACE TO BE PROUD OF AND BECAUSE OF THE INCREDIBLE SUPPORT WE HAVE

Mathew Bass

My wife and I bought a 2021RV and have had bad experiences with other parks but this one is the best RV park I have been to Management is great and the park is Amazing 👏 🙌So beautiful and reasonable pricesWe love it so much we are staying for the year and maybe more

5 star 🌟 for sure

Used to be one of my favorite places to stay while visiting family in Sebring I’m done, the last 2 times we visited, very noisy adults (and children) roaming the halls after 11pmI realize the staffing difficulties everyone is having but one person on staff at night does not work

I feel for the staff as they appear to be service oriented
