Great Bonfire

The rooms were very clean and well maintained, but I had huge issues when it comes to deadbolt The deadbolts for both rooms were either removed, or it would simply lock you in your room and you would have to fight tooth and nail to get the deadbolt unstuck Would have been a problem if I truly couldn’t get out through the door since the window doesn’t open

Other than that, it was pretty all right The continental breakfast left much to be desired, but at least it was something, right?

For the price this hotel served our purposes It was clean, the beds were not the most comfortable, but not the worst I’ve ever slept on either It’s a bit dated, but for the price what do you expect? The location of this hotel is great, minutes to the beach, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and all around great to work with

Kim who was just filling in was great to deal with! It’s a solid 3 star, and will likely stay here again next time I come to visit!

When we arrived at Hotel the air conditioning was not on It had a very musty smell The sink was stop up when advised the desk they said will fix that did not happen

When I opened the dresser to put some belongings in there a roach was crawling I killed and took to desk She said I had to wait for manager to arrive around 11 When to to manager to show him his comment was that’s what happens when people leaves doors open There was no apology from the manager There were hair on the bed and pillow cases and no apology there either It was suppose to be a weekend stay but ended up being only one night stay Not to mention the price over the phone was 109 when arrived I had to pay 145 I do not recommend staying at this hotel I will never stay at this hotel again I have to give a one star to post but no star from me

One of the best hotels in the surrounding area for the price and qualityRoom was nice and clean with a nice desk for working at in the eveningFitness center is simple but has enough equipment for a quick work out

Plenty of places in walking distance if you don’t feel like drivingBreakfast is the best I’ve had out of the surrounding hotels The hotels that are “on the beach” are definitely lacking in that regard

I have stayed at this hotel twice now Once last year in 2021 and once this year My first experience went well and I had no issues

However, my most recent visit in July was a not a good one at all I woke up just before 2 am to a cockroach crawling on my leg I found it in the morning on the other side of the room I hit it with my shoe and left it upon check out I told a front desk agent about it, and he offered apologies for the situation and advised he would tell his manager about this No follow up or anything was done

What an amazing place! We stayed in a beautiful camper tucked away in the woods behind the Annex building It had a private drive, all the amenities we could ask for, and the sounds of natureI sat on the deck and played my guitar under the awning while my wife watched tv inside

It was hard to believe how sound proof the camper was We could literally live there! If you like nature and quick access to the beach this is your heaven We will be back as often as we can!

Andrea Penn

The owner took the time to welcome us before we arrived by phone I had booked a 2 person room and he offered a better room (think suite with husband) than I had booked because it was available I let him know we were traveling on short notice because my daughter’s grandmother passed away and she (my daughter) was my co-traveler

He showed me a raw kindness, a thoughtfulness, that was unexpectedHe offered us a suite that allowed private access so we could come and go as needed Ultimately, we didn’t spend much time at the B&B I can assure you that the time we did spend was calm, clean, private, and reassuring My daughter, that had never been to a B&B and was thus unsure, was impressed herself She doesn’t want to stay in another hotel She wants to stay in a “home away from home” againThe White House is not a hotel and I’m thankful for that If you’ve read this far, you will be too

Dona Raynor

Robbie was a great host and easy to communicate with My suite was perfect, a large bedroom, bath and private living room with flat screen tv Comfy bed and great furnishings

Beautiful shared kitchen if you wanted to cook! Loved the outdoor space, large porch and landscaped yard Even had a chicken coop! Close to the quaint town of Swansboro and EI beaches Can’t wait to stay again

Probably wouldn’t stay here again The rooms are very outdated and definitely need some love Amenities aren’t particularly great and room service does the bare minimum

The price is pretty comparable to other hotels in the area, so I would certainly recommend staying somewhere else if possible The only upside I suppose is this place is very quiet and secluded

Bed bugs Room wasn’t ready when we arrived Upstairs neighbors were very loud

And we were confronted for having a dog in our room that we paid for and registeredArrived around 3:15 Check-in took 30 min and our room still wasn’t ready so we had to wait another half hour until it was ready The nonsmoking room smelled like smokeWhen we went to sleep, it sounded like kids upstairs were sprinting back and forth across the room The floors are not carpeted so that made the noises much louder This continued surprisingly late and started up again very early the next morningWoke up covered in itchy bites all over my arms, back, and hips I’ve never had bedbugs before but the bites look exactly like the pictures on GoogleAs we were packing up to leave, a lady confronted us asking if we had a dog in the room She told us we were not supposed to have a dog in the room I told her the lady at the front desk said it was okay She then asked if it was a service animal? No Did you pay for it? Yes She said oh, then walked away It was very off-puttingI called to speak to a manager about the experience and was told that he would give me a call yesterday No one has contacted me

Robbie Lee

The nicest thing about the motel is the room was clean However, the bed was uncomfortable The walls are like paper

You can hear everything in the other rooms It was noisy/loud all night I thought this place would be in a quiet town near the beach, but it was not quiet at all I also reserved a king room but they gave me two doubles

Terri Williams

AC didn’t work & hot water wasn’t hot so I picked up the phone to call the desk Phone didn’t work! They moved us to the room next store That room didn’t have any hot water and when I took my cool shower, I stood in three inches of water! Now you know when they’re cleaning the rooms they know if the water isn’t hot or if the tub isn’t draining or the AC isn’t working but sure let’s rent the rooms anyway! Save your money this hotel is a dump!

Had a large family reunion in July, Some family members stayed at the Islander Very happy with room and location

Impressed with the fact that front desk called to assure everything to their satisfaction shortly after check inWould like to personally give a HUGE shoutout to Carol, the event coordinator We used the banquet room for a dinner and a breakfast Carol was so helpful in assuring that we had everything we neededShe was so pleasant and accommodating, just great to work with Thank you Carol for helping to make our beach week such a positive experience!

B Pickett

My husband and I stayed in room 130 and this hotel was great The room was impeccable and we were able to park right in front of our room We used the complimentary beach chairs and am really glad they had them! This trip was unexpected so we were glad the Islander could accommodate us on this busy weekend

I am picky about cleanliness, and this was a totally positive experience!

Gail Langley

My daughter and husband just stayed in room 227 The room was nice, but the air conditioner did not work like it should Had it set on 61 and it never cooled

You could feel the heat coming from the ceiling Not enough insulation I guess Maybe 1st floor would have been cooler They had to buy a fan to help circulate the air Awesome location though Just alot of money spent to be hot

We came here for the spring break, hoping to escape the busy life and enjoy some tranquility during the Easter week The view is great, and the location is convenient However, in the early Monday morning, machines are digging up the perfect parking lot in front of the building, making a lot of noise which is unbearable

We are upset that we were not notified by the situation in advance, and we are paying hundreds of dollars a day to listen to the darn noise during our vacation The question is 1) why on earth chooses the Easter week to do this job, as it is a busy holiday season? 2) why needs to repave a parking lot in perfect condition? Someone is making money off this, and the condo owners are paying for it

Southern Hospitality at its finest

the staff went above and beyond our expectations to make our wedding party stay fabulous- including a ride from Sue (on her own time) on her golf cart to the beach gazebo for our bride Meatball subs and cake party for the Superbowl and advice on where to find all of our last minute wedding needsThe hotel was immaculate, our guests ALL agreed the beds were easily on our top 3 list ever, separate rooms for the sofa and beds, modern and clean bathrooms, and breakfast in the morning Icing on the cake was the short walk to the beautiful beach, the biking trails, and a quick walk across the street to boutique shopping and groceries Best stay on Emerald Isle Thank you Lighthouse Suites!

Cyndi Pigg

This is a beautiful hotel with clean comfortable rooms and a friendly, accommodating staff We needed a quick place to stay after a tree fell onto our home, and the staff was very quick to find us a room and offer their lobby for my husband to work for the day, even after checking outThey offer a self serve breakfast with many choices which was very good

They are just a quick walk to the beach and right beside the bike path, if you enjoy bikingPrices were a tad high, but not when compared to other beach hotels n the middle of summer The facility and staff more than make up for that Would highly recommend this place to others 😊

Nicole Nelson

We have not been pleased with the customer service we received from this hotel We booked under a wedding block and we couldn’t wait for the fun to begin We trusted the hotel to have the right dates for the wedding block but it turns out they didn’t because they charged us for an extra night

We brought it to their attention but they had no intentions of crediting the cardAs you can see from other reviews here, the walls are thin! Very thin They act like the hotel is a library And that the guests should be extra quiet because their walls are so thin That is not a good way to start a vacation You can not have fun if you can’t even talk in the lobby or your room for that matter We came in late from the rehearsal dinner and we were told right away to be extra quiet The lady at the front desk actually told us that we should have been spanked more as children and that way we could have followed THEIR directions better I mean who says that to their hotel guests? The bride of the wedding worked well in advance to line up this wedding block She was very upset about the extra night’s charge and even called on our behalf Again, there was zero response for the manager There is a brand new hotel being built in the area, so the Lighthouse will not have the monopoly any longer That is wonderful news for vacationers, family reunions, girl’s weekend getaways, and wedding parties When the Lighthouse starts losing business they will be more responsive to their paying guests and take things like an overcharge into consideration I have a feeling that the new hotel won’t have walls so thin that guests complain about hearing others snore!
