Great location in Incline Village Private beach access is nice Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to help

Rooms were pretty nice Pillows were very thin Air conditioning didn’t go below 65, which is probably okay for most people, but we run warm so it was a bit warm for us Only main complaint is there is no great way to get from the parking lot to your room other than through the main entrance Dog friendly is a great perk with no size restrictions and reasonable fee

My wife and I decided to stay at this resort for our 30th wedding anniversary I must start by saying we definitely had one of the best times in our life and we have traveled all around the world! For starters one of the managers her name is Jennifer she went above and beyond for us you could not imagine !we are so grateful for her for everything she has done she is just absolutely fantastic !I hope she reads this we want to thank you again Jennifer making our stay so wonderful !The resort is very clean !the staff is absolutely amazing !the lake is absolutely beautiful the people who work there work hard young people very polite! The casino was really cute didn’t see any big winners but people were winning Love that it’s pet friendly

Only one downside this resort is very crowded which is expected! Other than that we had a fantastic time lots of fun love the area if you get a chance you must drive around the lake to the top of the mountain for sunset photos of the lake absolutely Breath taking! Would definitely return

I rarely write reviews for hotels, but this why by far one of our best experiences The hotel itself was so well kept and beautiful We traveled in with our dog and they were so pet-friendly

Upon our arrival, our dog was greeted with treats, doggy bags and an extensive list of doggy day cares in the area! We had such a wonderful time and can’t see ourselves staying anywhere else when we visit

Spent 4 days at the BEST lodge ever!! The place is immaculate and has the sweetest couple taking care of it all! Everything we needed in the suite and the kitchen was a perfect size for what we needed and the grill on the deck came in handy! I absolutely love the old school feel of the lodge, it only has about 9 rooms so it was quiet and quant! We will most definitely be making this a yearly tradition, and can’t wait to go back next summer!!!

Ryan Olson

My family and I were staying in the area over spring break to hit the slopes and needed a place to stay and we were looking for a kitchenette The kitchenette definitely met our needs but what was really great was the cleanliness of the rooms and the view from our room of Donner lakeLoch Leven Lodge has that classic look to it of a lodge in the woods

Definitely would love to go back

John Clark

On the lake and close to downtown Suites are best, rooms are quite small Nice deck along the water with plenty of chairs

Staff was not readily available and office was never open for the 4 days of our stay Unusual warm days made for uncomfortable room temperature with only small fan and breeze box for comfort Rooms were quite stuffy and leaving doors and windows open for ventilation lead to numerous flying insects collecting around lights Rustic is a great definition, consider it to be glamping without many luxuries

We had a great time at this restaurant The view is amazing as most have said The sound of the rushing water is very soothing

Initially when we arrived we wanted to be outside We were pretty disappointed that couldn’t happenHowever it ended up being the best thing As soon as that sun sets, it really cools off By the time we got midway through our dinner, a once packed patio was almost completely cleared We wouldn’t have been prepared for that so sitting inside at a table for 2 right next to an open window is a pretty nice spot as you can see from my photosOur food was very good I had the scallops and my wife got a salad I probably could have eaten 2 dishes of the scallops they were that good I was definitely glad we made this stopService wise it was good Nothing to complain about We were treated well

Galen Maloney

Amazing place to have lunch, esp if you are drawn to rivers Deck sits at the bend of the Trinity so u can watch tubers float to their exit point Food is good and drinks are solid

Staff is friendly and informative Was able to walk over and take a lovely dip after lunch too! Lots of bikers gather there as well either pre or post trip on the bike path

Sina Skates

This was a very, very odd experience The food mostly was good? A little salty The view is amazing, right on the river

And the service was completely bizarre! We had a reservation for 9 people and we arrived 10 minutes early and they had actually just sat a different group at our table and then had to pull together 2 other tables to fit us As a group of 9, the 20% gratuity was included in the meal (any party over 6), but unfortunately the service was so bad it was as if they really didn’t care We had 1 kids menu, but didn’t get the crayons Had to ask Our reservation was for 6:15 and when we ordered one of the specials at 6:30, the waitress came back 10 minutes later to tell us it was “sold out” mind you, the restaurant was only half full Was it sold out or were you just confused on the specials? They served our dinners 2-3 people at a time, 5 minutes apart, which was so shocking are you really telling me you can’t serve 9 meals together when you’re not even half full? My drink was constantly empty I had to ask 3 times to get a refill on my diet coke, which was diet Pepsi, actually It took forever to get 1 refill, once! After I asked 3 times! My elk dish was supposed to be medium rare, but was completely tough and overcooked The burgers were burnt and not good The braised bison short ribs were good The steak special, bone in New York was very fatty, unfortunately The sides were not fantastic either everything had asparagus in it, including the house salad with a rotten grape And then really tough, dry fingerling potatoes which were basically inedible with rainbow chard that was very tough and a carrot that was supposed to be cooked but was completely crunchy/raw or mashed potatoes It seemed really a cheap way of trying to look like a fancy restaurant, but I feel I would have had a better meal at a Ruth’s Chris I was not impressed with the food, especially for the prices! It looked good, the portions were large, but to me, I’d rather go somewhere else next time Oh, and while I was still eating my dinner, since I was served last, about 15 minutes (maybe that’s why they overcooked my Elk) after the first person was served at our table, they literally plopped down a large stack of to go boxes in the middle of the table while I was still eating! The only reason why I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 2 is because of the views and the bison was good and the scallop risotto dish was cooked correctly (that was good) and we ordered the nachos with chicken as an appetizer and that was good and came out fast I think they should stick with bar food and give up on the fine dining and the prices or maybe get better line cooks to execute the dishes? Or maybe get better waitstaff the tip was $75 The service was not worth it at all Oh and they offer vegetarian food Maybe next time, if I dare to try it again, I’ll just get dessert

I wasn’t expecting much because the price was great compared to other locations nearby The rooms were furnished well and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed The comfort of our stay far exceeded our expectations

The amenities the resort had and the outstanding customer service(shout out to Ellie, Sophie, and Janeth) were the cherry on top! If I were to visit the area again, I would definitely try to book a room at this location!

Shweta Agrawal

Found this place last minute for a visit in summer Turned out to be a hidden gem! Simple small condos at reasonable priceVery friendly staff, private walk in beach with beach chairs, swings and other amenities

Pool and hot tub (though we couldn’t use it because they were always closed by the time we got back to resort) Only one little discomfort in summer was that condo had no ac and got very hot in the night, even with windows open and fans on They had told us not all condos have acs But also probably one of the hottest weeks in the year, and the condo is likely designed for winters Other than that overall the service was great Highly recommended, and would stay again

DO NOT STAY HERE This is the WORST and most disgusting excuse for lodging I’ve ever seenI have lived in Tahoe for 12+ years, and have never seen such a sorry excuse for accommodation

It embarrasses me as a local that this is what our visitors may experienceI recently had a baby, and my family drove up to meet her I wanted to have them stay nearby, so I booked them a room at Tahoe Sands for $700+Upon arrival, we immediately smelled mildew and found mold in the room We opened the windows to air it out, but it did nothing This made the room inhabitable The rooms are dirty, disgusting, and this place is essentially run into the ground without any management or staff to assistI tried to call the front desk and text the number the staff had been texting me from, but no one answered Still, nearly a week later, I can’t get a response from the hotel about this experienceI will be filing a complaint with the BBB and ensure all local entities are aware of this

This was an amazing place to stay and enjoy great scenery, relaxing environments, and great food We did not even go skiing or snowboarding and still had a wonderful stay Definitely eat at the resort restaurants as each one had some really good food

Lastly, being part of the Olympic Palisades, there are plenty of nearby a activities to do as well I plan to go back and bring my children as it is very family friendly

Desharia Hobdy

I stayed here for my birthday and it was nothing but relaxing and beautiful views I love the six peaks grill by the steak both Megan’s at the spa were amazing! I love the six peaks grill by the steak both Megan’s at the spa were amazing! Also Tyson who works in valet is such a hard worker had made sure my experience was amazing and helped me out whenever he could This company should be super grateful to have an employee like him

I genuinely will be staying at this resort again One of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life! I definitely be coming back in the future thank you guys again at squaw Creek! My only complaint would be make sure you bring your walking shoes because I didn’t know how much walking it would be and Ubers are expensive

Goomba Boom

The views are stunning, the land is very well kept and the outside area is seriously amazing I took off a star because of little things Our fridge didn’t work, the ice machines were empty, the vending machines were all empty, the spa was closed, and the room service wasn’t available

I think little perks like this give you that pampered experience If you’re going to be spending most of your time outside, definitely an amazing place, but if you’re looking for an extra special indoor feel, I would maybe consider somewhere else Staff were all really nice though

A rustic retreat in the small town of Tahoe Vista, with a small private beach and near many attractions (NV casinos, decent restaurants, boating, mini and regular golf) We’ve been coming here for years The rooms could be more up to date, but it is rustic, not modern

Service is available by request only Prices are mid range for the area If not getting a lakefront cottage, go for the forest side, better value than ‘lakeside’

Mrs. Sanchez

Stayed in room #15 and absolutely loved it! Super close to the water (wish we were on the beach but it was still very close) room was clean! We arrived late and they had no problem putting our key in a lockbox We stayed two nights and it was overall a lovely experience!! Very quite and a nice relaxing getaway wish we could have stayed longer Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone coming to Tahoe!

3 minute walk to several restaurants Quiet and restful night Loved it!

Our car broke down just outside of town Hauling three kids and a pet they gouged is on everything they could Including trying to charge us for a late checkout while we waited for our car to finish being repaired for two extra hours

Our rooms air conditioner was broken as well, making the nights stay even more miserable Indifferent unapologetic staff Overall a terrible (and yet still insanely expensive) experience

Such a delightedly stay at this quaint, mountain vibe hotel One of the best parts: very dog friendly They even provided a custom doggy bed for my dog and when we walked into our room, they had a big treat lying on the bed (which my dog enjoyed immediately)

I will also add the bar in the lobby was very diverse in its portfolio and even had custom cocktails It’s a full bar with good bourbon as well My wife had wine, I had bourbon, and they also have a full tea bar for the morning We are very thankful for the welcoming staff and hope to be back soon Cheers mate!

Karsten Feigl

Great hotel, very luxurious with clean spacious rooms The staff was incredibly friendly and helpfulThe hot hub, which is open from 9am to 9pm is a nice bonus as well as the complementary coffee in the lobby

We would definetly recommend stopping by, it’s well worth its price

Judith Anderson

Very attractive but expensive A shared soup, bread and chicken, no drinks, came to $100 in the restaurantI’ve stayed at a different motel/hotel every night for 28 days

This was among the cleanestIf the owners are serious about making the experience better for older folks they could make some improvements The table between the beds has only one phone jack and it didn’t work, even with instructions for a tub bath (impossible for me as I have bad knees) the shower mechanism had no way to turn it on, and no breakfast, unless one pays high prices Truly difficult stay

I was supposed to stay elsewhere one night but my reservation got lost I booked a night here via a third party site because it had the best rates (that wasn’t a sketchy-looking motel) When I arrived, lo and behold, my reservation was technically on the wrong date

(At this point, it was nearly 3am, and I could not check in until 3pm)Cue the EXCELLENT customer service I was helped by an employee at the front desk named Dana He was not only incredibly friendly, but extremely understanding and accommodating He SAVED my evening, my sanity, and my “relaxing” vacation! He saw that there was a room available, got me checked in, and I was able to finally rest after a LONG day of driving from San Francisco to Truckee late at nightHe not only helped me snag a room, but he helped me reverse a complicated issue with the third party site (note to self — call a property DIRECTLY for availability, deals, and more because 3rd party sites take so much from small businesses!)The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable I had considered cancelling my booking at the other resort so I could stay here longerbut I will be sure to keep this amazing hotel in mind for a near-future visit Breakfast and coffee are included, as well as gorgeous outdoor scenery It is also very conveniently locatedVery special thank you to Dana Your kindness, your professionalism, and SUPERB customer service is what I hope all future travelers get to experience!

Amy Catalan

This was the only hotel we could get since we arrived pretty late at night Just needed a place to stay for that night only and the price was reasonable Their complimentary breakfast was very good

The donner lake is literally in the back yard of those Just need to walk a bit to arrive or drive which is like 2 min away max But I recommend the walk since it’s beautiful scenery The bad thing is the construction going on I front of it The hotel is definitely outdated But I found the bed to be very comfortable Our room was on the main floor which over looked the forest/donner park

Basecamp Tahoe was the perfect stay for my family and we wish we could’ve stayed longerRooms were cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed Very clean, hygienic and great service

We had the best stay at Basecamp Tahoe City!We were greeted with the friendliest staff who were eager to tell us all about the great hiking and biking spots, and they went over all the hotel details with us very thoroughly We ended up hanging out in the lobby with them for a while and had a beer at the little bar in thereOur room was super spacious with high ceilings and a king bed

It was clean and comfortable and had the basic amenities like a fridge and coffee making supplies (Kuju coffee!) Right outside of our room was the top deck fire pit and the corn holeThe hotel is conveniently located and within walking distance to awesome restaurants We went to Pioneer for dinner (amazing pizza & cocktails) and then walked around a bit before heading back to the hotel A lot of other guests were hanging out by the fire pit in the evening so we joined them to roast s’moresWe checked out the Farmer’s Market which is on Thursday mornings at Common’s Beach, it’s also walking distance from the hotel and has amazing produce and other local productsOverall, we just loved our stay at this Basecamp and we loved Tahoe City – it’s more of a chill, mountain town vibe than South Lake Tahoe (We also stayed at the Basecamp Tahoe South which was amazing and fun!)Can’t wait to go back!!

I am going to take the time to write this review for future travelers for the area I want to begin by saying how AMAZING this lodge is I stayed in a queen bedroom woody cabin that is within walking distance to the lake

They have a hot tub and gave out complimentary s’mores on our first night Our parking space is literally right outside the cabin so it’s super convenient for those who do not like walking long distancesThey provided a soft, fuzzy blanket in our room, a cute dining table for breakfast/lunch/dinner, the whole aesthetic is SO cute, 10/10 It is on the North part of the Lake and in my opinion, the best part of the lake is the north side and the entire right hand side of the lake The drive near emerald bay is not for people afraid of heights Everything you need is within 1 mile of you—store, gas, beach access & water rentals, and restaurants & a gift shopsThis place is best if you are looking for a quiet, low key place with a cabin feel I suggest the younger crowds/party people stay in South Lake Tahoe for those kinds of experiences If you are older or just really enjoy peace and quiet, this is your spot The front desk gentlemen were so accommodating for us and really were personable, amazing people Came all the way from South Carolina, so their hospitality was A+! Can’t wait to come back here 10/10 experience 💙✨🙏

The room we got was really cute and freshly remodeled, the furniture and decor was absolutely adorable Very comfortable and the claw bathtub was also nice Good water pressure and hot water Bed was comfortable and I liked the sheetsThe inn got a historic oldish charm that also came with some challenges Know that you’re across the rail, so while it is nice during the day, the rail runs quite often even at night It woke me up several times a night even being a heavy sleeper No AC but lots of fans provided, though it was still pretty stuffy and hot at night because I closed the window to mitigate the noise a little The window was also really hard to open or close, but that’s understandable because it’s such a historical and beautiful place I liked the slanted diagonal ceilings but be sure to not bump your headFree coffee and muffin downstairs in the morning There’s a small kitchen and lounge area and it’s connected to the restaurant and bar

The place is your typical hotel with all the things that make it nice Continental breakfast was goodCharles was very helpful with my obscure requests

I had to find a stick for physical therapy and he went out of his way to track down several items the hotel had that could accommodate my needsRecommend

Overall good Hampton inn, typical of my experience with the brand Location in Truckee was pretty good, just a few minutes to downtown or really anywhere in Truckee A Raleys grocery store conveniently around the corner

Breakfast was good each morning, was busy and yet food was never in short supply Heated pool was great for cool days, cleaned each morning Rooms were overall good, no issues and were clean Plenty of parking based on a holiday weekend stay

Cherilyn Jones

Great stay We loved the hot tub!! Laundry, fitness center, and free breakfast were all really appreciated Staff were great

You have to request room cleaning in advance as fyi or it reverts to every 4th day Not a fan of that but understand the circumstances Walkable to Raleys market and a decent convenience store at gas station next door The accessibility was great for the accessible rooms Although the king bed height did make for difficult transfer fromWheelchair

Experience: 10Value: 9Quality: 9Amenities: 8Architecture: 10Uniqueness: 8Experience:I have always had a fantastic experience here at Northstar From snowboarding to mountain biking the mountain is cultivated with excellenceValue:Whether you are stopping in for the day or have an Epic pass and come multiple times a year, Northstar is a great place to visit

Quality:The quality of the mountain is excellent and the staff members in the various shops are always helpful and kindAmenities:There are a couple different bars, restaurants and shops in the village and on the mountain Like any ski resort, the food and drink is pricey and not of the highest quality But you still can get a good meal and grab a pint or cocktail during your stayArchitecture:I love the building architecture and layout of the village When you are here and it is snowing, you get the sensation that you are transported to a European townUniqueness:For the area this is a unique resort From the architecture to the mountain landscape, it is easy to love Northstar

We were here over the summer and it was pleasantly not crowded and had some nice outdoor dining food options for the family They also have fire pits at night time where you can grab some ice cream and have a nice gathering around the skating rink area It’s an overall upscale resort area with bars and restaurants to make your quaint trip to Tahoe more memorable

Chris Modica

This is the greatest resort I have ever gone too, and I have been to many, MANY resorts I am a mountain biker, so I showed up in the summer to catch some of their lift-served downhill trails All of the trails are super fun, there is something for absolutely anyone

Going to Northstar Bike Park was one of the greatest and most fun things I have ever done in my life

We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back We stayed in the forest side cabin The only downfall to that

When you are on the beach, there are no restroom so it’s a long walk back across a busy street No trash cans, and very limited chairs close to the water line but a lot of chairs and umbrellas up in the beach further upOn the forest side, it was peaceful and quiet BUT we noticed the workers live in some of the cabins too, so they are not as nice and neat on the outside and a few junk piles around That side of the property could be a little nicer Our cabin area was great, lots of Cobb webs in the room, ceiling, corner and some spiders which I just cleaned with a broom Wonderful customer service was wonderful, easy to communicate and very accommodating The young kids working the water equipment work extremely hard and are super helpful

My husband and I came on our 20th anniversary and and couldn’t have been happier with our stay The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful It felt more like staying with family (in all the best ways) than staying at a resort

Staff helped us feel comfortable and welcome with suggestions on where to eat and where to explore The beach was lovely and restful, the rooms large and comfortable, and the amenities nicely done But what really put everything over the top for us was the AMAZING customer service We already booked for next year!

Janet Chism

The check in and check out was extremely easy and straightforward Texts all along the way about your visit were very helpfulThe room was immaculate, and had everything you would need in a housekeeping unit

The mattress was the most comfortable I have ever slept on Planning to call them to find out the make Very pleasant stay

This place is excellent! The 5-star rating doesn’t quite do it justice (I almost feel like we need a 6th star for “Exceptional”!) The room was super clean And despite all of the snow outside, it was warm and cozy inside

Breakfast was cooked and served by Paul and Mindy themselves and it was fantastic; best breakfast I’ve had in a while! And the hospitality that Paul and Mindy gave us brought our stay to a whole other level I highly recommend this place

Nick Mueller

Thank you Paul and Mindy for making our trip to Truckee truly special The B&B is located right across Donner Lake and we felt right at home The room was warm, cozy and very comfortable with views into the forest

Paul and Mindy go above and beyond for their guests Highlight was the homemade breakfast and stories Paul and Mindy shared Hope to go back soon Perfect location to many ski resorts in the area

The service was exceptional from general manager to the cleaning crews This is the best hotel out of everything that I have been to Jared Souther (General Manager), Stevenson (Front Desk Supervisor) and Can were all welcoming

They greeted with professionalism from start to finish Room was clean and fully functional There are amenities like complimentary breakfast, 24 hour gym, open pool with spa and laundry room I have included a few pictures in this post I will definitely recommend this hotel

Newer hotel Clean and comfortable They did charge $10 per car per night for parking

Right off the freeway and still fairly close to everything That said, Google maps showed it 07 miles from the edge of downtown Truckee Thought that would make for a good walk after dinner and drinks there Good thing I drove it first The road is dark, without sidewalk, and cars move pretty quick Would not suggest walking that path at night

Stayed here twice for Northstar skiing trips It’s a good location for this purpose, just leave hotel <30min before lift running and no pressure to park in the closer free lotDue to the location, this place is not cheap during snow seasons - easily over easily over $400/d for weekend days

If you think about how much you spend, it’s hard to stay happy for everything about this hotel – 1) Free break fast as it’s SpringHill branded, but barely eatable Not even as good as an avg holiday inn express 2) Noisy, especially for the rooms facing the highway Last one is to Marriott also – 3) the “guaranteed” late checkout is “never guaranteed”, they ignore the request you made in app checkin, and simply say no when you ask due to “availability reason” Fake advertise from Marriott I guess? (I’m Titanium tier member, 4pm checkout is “guaranteed” benefit)
