This is a very clean hotel, with comfortable beds and a good breakfast I am always hesitant when staying at a hotel because of bad experiences in the past, but this hotel stands out as a great place to stayThe staff were incredibly friendly, the room had its own air conditioning that actually works, the bathroom was clean and had hot water, and overall I was extremely happy with my stay here!

Clifton Schnarr

This hotel is modern and clean The room was nicely furnished with a lot of convenience features Everything was functioning properly, and in good condition

The King Size bed was very firm For us it was not very comfortable The pillows were very soft, not providing much support The water was sufficiently hot, and we had everything we needed for a travelling stop The provided breakfast had lots of choices and was very tasty

Eric Nemchock

This hotel is clean, modern, and comfortable The studio suite is spacious and the furnishings all seem pretty new Shower gel and shampoo are included in the shower so that’s always appreciated! Breakfast was average and the check-in staff was a bit cold but ultimately there is not much to complain about here; it’s a noticeable step up from some of the more dated properties in the area and I’d definitely stay again

LaVonne Pulliam

Nice, newer hotel Room was clean and had some light wear and tear There was no smell of animals and all pet owners were respectful, keeping the grounds clear of pet waste

Quiet stay and normal hotel breakfast Breakfast is continental with all pre-packaged food and fruit Staff was friendly and helpful Warning for individual with tree nuts allergies, the soap contains almonds Front desk did not have alternatives available which is the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars Would stay here again

Tracie B

The room was spacious and nice Only complaints are that we were checked in to the room and told it was ready for us only to go up and see that it hadn’t been cleaned yet So they sent us to a smaller room without telling us it was smaller

We requested to go back to original room once it was clean 15 hours after our check in time it was finally cleaned and ready The pool needs a good cleaning, a lot of build up on the walls and the water is cloudy Breakfast wasn’t the greatest You get waffles, oatmeal, cereal, or a pre-packaged sandwich to heat up

Disgustingly dirty room with bad stale odorMy husband and I planned an overnight trip into Lafayette to attend an event on the Purdue campus & I chose the Holiday Inn based on the high reviews of the hotel Upon our arrival on Saturday afternoon we noticed how beautiful the hotel was on the outside and when we walked inside it was also very nice, spacious and nicely decorated We were checked in quickly and went to our room to unpack

Our the room overall was basic – The room furniture was pretty worn and roughed up But it was the cleanliness of the room (or lack of cleanliness) that really grossed us out The rooms carpeting did not seem like it had been vacuumed in sometimeall over carpeting but especially noticeable on the perimeterand by that I mean there was a small pile of seeds left under the desk and mostly piled near the wallnot to mention the entire carpet The bathroom was no better – aside the toilet it didn’t seem the floor had been swept or moppedAll the surfaces in the room were sticky and you could see the dried water marks where they’d been wipedSince we were only there for the night I didn’t bother saying anything to management I wish I had booked the Hampton Inn or Hilton Garden Inn down the street Very disappointingAt least the bed itself was comfortable to sleep in – though as soon as I woke up I slipped by shoes on to walk to bathroom and shower we quickly got out of there in the morning

Chelsea Gruber

I’ve come here twice for work within the last 6 months – both times I have had major issues with the cleanliness Specifically housekeeping First trip, dirty tissues found in bedding (ew!!) second trip I checked in after 7pm and the room still had dirty sheets and wet towels on the ground

The front desk staff is amazing and so kind and accommodating so my two stars are specifically for them!!! Both times they relocated me to clean rooms, though I must say the whole hotel is damp and musty, carpets don’t feel like they’ve been cleaned in years I don’t have a choice of hotel with my job but if I did, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again

John Fullerton

Absolutely disgusting hotel Arrived at 10pm and was told housekeeping was not done cleaning the rooms Waited until 10:45 and was given an occupied room that the front desk said there was no one in

Finally given a room that was disgusting with an unmade bed and towels all over the room Do not waste your money here Pay a few more dollars and stay closer to campus One of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had

Great place to stayThe room and common areas are very clean The room was huge

The beds were comfortable even the fold out couch The shower was great The kitchen had everything you could need The pool was fun and clean with plenty of towels The outdoor patio area was a great place to hang out Breakfast was really good with lots of choices This was a great deal for the money We only stayed one night but almost wish we were staying longer and not just passing through! Thank you for the great experience!

Courtenay Hurt

I stay at this chain when I travel because it feels like home Amazing service, the rooms are big with little kitchens and it feels comfortable I’m always greeted by a friendly face and they go above and beyond to make your stay hazzle free

The one in Lafayette has been the best so far and accommodated my need to check in early and check out late as I stayed for 4 days Free breakfast in the morning which included LOTS of choices and hot or cold items Having a small kitchen in your room you can also buy and prepare your own food Great gathering area when you walk in with fireplace, and have a indoor pool if you want to go swimming 100% will stay here again as the staff feel like family

Beth T

Stay was okThe hotel was clean, however, our room had spots where drywall had been replaced, but it was not repainted

The tile in the bathroom had stains, but was clean It was a spacious room that included a kitchenette Good for long term staysStaff was friendly

Money hungry ownersMy reservations were charged in full 2 weeks prior to intended stay without my acknowledgment or even providing a receiptThey refuse to refund after cancellation even though I did so 96hrs prior to my reservation

This is not a camper / customer friendly location Find somewhere else

Patti Mosson

I was a guest of a friend that was camped there I stayed about 2 hours My friend told me that she would be charged $5 for anyone that came to visit her there! That was shocking in itself

She had intended to stay for a month But, to use the pool was a $700 fee, fishing for her or her son was $100 an hour, electricity was an additional fee on top of the monthly rate! My question is, what are you getting for your money? I have never heard of any campground that charged it’s campers extra to fish, use the pool, or have guests! She left after 24 hours, didn’t get even a partial refund My advice, keep on driving past their sign

E “Murphdogg76” Murphdogg76

I travel and work on the road

So finding a good spot to call home while I am on a project is sometimes hard to find Upon finding this place through Google it seemed like a great place The owners seemed great! Upon getting to know some of the guest around the site I started hearing horror stories Guest being harassed at the pool, guest being charged for extra money for having their grand kids come visit for the weekend, guest being thrown out for unknown reasons and not refunded, and several other reasons as well There are several great places within a few miles of this place that may offer better services My advice if you don’t want to leave disappointeddon’t go

First, the good parts I have stayed here several times over the years and the staff is always super friendly and well-trained Plenty of parking and a perfect location if you’re visiting Purdue or the West Lafayette area

The downside there has just been no reinvestment in remodeling and updating the property especially the rooms So that is the only reason I cannot give this a higher rating They do offer comfortable bedding but other than that it’s a big mess with design and upkeep and making it modern within the rooms

Daniel Varnell

It is a decent hotel However, I do not feel it quite hits the garden inn standard that Hilton has set The rooms are a little small and several times I have stayed here the wall paper was peeling in the restroom

This hotel could definitely use a remodel The location of this hotel is great though Lots to do and eat around this hotel

Juniper B

Very nice rooms and good locationI read some of the other reviews and yes the carpets in the rooms could use a deep clean- mine felt greasy but I just wore my shoes and didn’t have to think about it again I stay at a lot of hotels for my work and this is actually pretty common at many hotels

Stayed here 4 nights with family Very positively impressedHotel staff are all super nice and friendly, they make you feel at home and welcome

The hotel rooms are very nice: spacious, clean, good beds, good furniture Hotel lobby area nice an pleasant, free breakfast, coffee The location is great, really quiet, peaceful, green trees Facilities like gym and pool, plenty of parkingCould be more convenient if hotel had laundry service

Amanda Glass

The hotel was clean and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind! Proximity to the Purdue campus made it really easy to get toWhen we checked in, we were greeted with kindness and recommendations for places to eat and a map! So helpful! We had breakfast every morning and swam in the pool every day Breakfast had a variety and was always replenished and fresh

The hotel even provided some pool toys, which made the fun of the pool even better!

Mayesha Sahir Mim

One of the best stays ever The room and the whole hotel was very clean Comfy beds, functional appliances, awesome indoor pool, and a good breakfast buffet

There’s room service every 4 days unless you request otherwise The location is excellent, with many restaurants nearby and Purdue only a few minutes away The only negative is probably that the app Bluetooth room keys don’t work, you need a physical key card Above all, everyone at the hotel is extremely cordial and nice Will be back again!

The hotel is lovely and the beds are so comfortable, but what sets The Union Club Hotel apart is the service Every person we encountered from the valet to the front desk to the maintenance staff to our stellar waiter (Stephanie) at 8Eleven exemplified top-notch guest service Kudos to the training and management staff

As Marriott Titanium we received a hand-written welcome note which was a very nice touch If you travel to West Lafayette stay here if at all possible

Lisa H

Beautifully renovated hotel conveniently located on Purdue’s campus As a Purdue alumna, this hotel brings fond feelings of nostalgia and is smartly connected to Purdue’s brand ‘Love the black and gold decor, and the room’s layout is well designed and feels spacious

Plus, it’s connection to Marriott is convenient for Bonvoy/Marriott rewards membersThe staff members were amazing— and special shoutout to Guest Services Rep Gavin D who went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed back to Purdue and helped me adjust my checkout time so it aligned with my travel schedule Highly recommend and definitely planning to stay at this hotel again in the future!

Michael Mancuso

Not very pleased to start with the hotel cleaning people did not properly clean our room very disappointing they left dirty towels in room just folded up to appear freshly cleaned Did not replace skin cream or other bathroom products also the young man and female employee in the coffee shop were rude and failed to provide quality service The hotel needs better management to oversee the poor service

They said we don’t check in till 2 and shut the door in his face Well guess they did not need his money He would of waited till then to check in if they were not so rude I will make sure that all my camping friends know all about this experience

Thumbs up from meOverall a nice hotel and would recommend Only reason 4 stars on location is that right next to highway That might suit some better though

This is our go to place for a weekend getaway We didn’t have a reservation this time but stopped in to see if they had any of our favorite suites and they did We always get the one with the fireplace

Adds to a romantic atmosphere There were two ladies at the desk and while one checked us in the other came to the room and started the fireplace for us so it would be warmed up for us Very thoughtful The beds and pillows are great Very comfy to sleep on Been coming for years and will continue to come I highly recommend you try one of their fireplace suites and spoil yourself

The hotel grounds are lovely, and clean Location is great, close to shopping, restaurants, and 15 minutes from Purdue The rooms are showing age

Our bathtub was clogged, the shower partly clogged with low pressure The bathroom fan is super loud, as was the case with the room AC – bring earplugs The breakfast is continental, warm eggs sausages, and bread, muffins, oatmeal, and yogurt Staff is friendly and helpful

Cole Brillinger

Hotel grounds are gorgeous with all the mature treesSome rooms have a patio door which was great to relax outside The breakfast was your average Homewood free breakfast but had some fresh fruit which was perfect

Very clean room, very nice Some small problems Sink was stopped up a bit

Television appeared to be deliberately set to be dark I actually tried manually making it brighter and watched the backlight setting actually go to zero while I was trying to turn the brightness up so looks like it was set to be dark That was a bit frustrating Don’t bother watching TV with it that dark The bed was pretty uncomfortable unfortunately They looked nice but pretty hard on my back Also did not care for the patio directly outside my window where people can look in and hear you as well, especially when you like to have the window curtains open Apart from those problems it was alright Just trying to be honest and fair with the review It’s a decent place but needs some work on some small things My back hurts terribly from the bed and I think that is the biggest issue It is what it is Service was very good tho Great staff! Will probably come back again- C

Shawn Mack

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel the TV in the room was horrible the picture is tiny and we could barely see the picture because it was so dark and there was no way to fix it in the settings Also there were what I would guess we’re locals hanging out in the Parking lot bumping music and partyingthe adjacent parking lot was full of garbage littered all around

The front desk gentleman was nice though

I had a king sweet so much empty space in there the furniture was not put backward belonged Is the bathroom hair on the shower walls used amenities that weren’t thrown away and new replaced The bed was comfortable the towels were soft soft the room was free of dust the refrigerator was super cold it was just the bathroom that wasn’t great or the furniture out of place

Plenty of restaurants along the road steakhouse across the street ihop right down the road Burger Is king across the major road

1st of all I’ve stayed at a number of hotels before, during and after covid I felt the need to post about in depth about this place I generally post about price and what is expected

I’m paying approximately $1000 for 4 nights stay That’s including $42/night for my dog There’s an obvious odor in my “pet” room I didn’t have a TV remote and couldn’t turn on the TV manually The pool is closed despite being the middle of the summer The desk clerk had to come to my room to futze with the TV to get it to work There are dehumidifiers down every hall I can see the beginnings of mold on the ceiling in my room Everything is sticky in my room Please note the grossness of whatever the yellow yuck is on the lud to the ice bucket I WILL NEVER stay here again Unfortunately I’m locked in for this trip 😳🤯

Caity Veraar

Moldy, peeling caulk in showers Yellow and with toilet seat No hot water at 10pm

I called the front desk about it and they offered to come up to check it To confirm it was actually not hot? After some questioning I learned that there’s one tank water heater for the entire hotel, so there was nothing that could be done to remedy the issue, thus a visit to my room would be pointless It’s nice the rooms have a fridge with a freezer and a microwave, but personally, I’d prioritize modernizing the water heaters in the hotel over providing additional amenities like a fridge/freezer It was a disappointing stopover after a long day of traveling I guess I’ll just stink tomorrow

Everything about our stay was wonderful From the calming drive up the winding drive to the sweet smile reception we got from Elizabeth when we came in, all the details have been thought out perfectly We stayed in the France King Room and it was beautiful

I love the little extra touches like titbits about France on the nightstand The Night Kitchen was a fun option once we came back from dinner for a little extra something before bed The bedding was great Everything was clean and comfortable We are local and sometimes it feels weird to stay away only a few minutes away from your house, but I would do this again in a heartbeat My husband and I said next time we’d just make reservations in the dining room and stay on property the whole time We highly recommend and will be back again for sure

We found the Whittaker Inn traveling home from my daughter’s wedding The Inn is absolutely comfy, cozy, and more It is QUIET for weary travelers and dinner can be ordered in advance in the dining room or eaten in your room with some advance notice

We enjoyed playing pool in the game room Our room was comfortable, big, and again quiet Ambience of the Inn is a combination of old world farm house style with a punch of modern Food was prepared by a culinary chef and was superb Elizabeth was friendly and inviting The night snack area was well stocked Open areas to sitting lounge down stairs with couches and chairs, a fitness room, and a game room with pool table are also for your enjoyment We will be back for sure on future travels to see my daughter Thanks for the hospitality We appreciate you! Special note, is that the Inn is tucked in farm country so NO FREEWAY NOISE and the grounds provide for a nice evening walk

We held my fathers 70th birthday here and it was a wonderful experience The owner was very responsive on emails and helpful with organizing The food was beyond amazing

All of their deserts are made in-house and their peach cobbler is made by soaking the peaches 24 hours in advanced Many of my guest said it was the best desert they have ever had! Highly recommend for dinner and events! It’s a beautiful location and they had games for kids to play Was really just a wonderful experience!

Quick check in and they offered every guest a bottled water We had a suite with our 4 kids It was clean and spacious

They had all sorts of accessories in the bathroommakeup wipes and lotion The shower had shampoo, conditioner and body wash in big bottles in the shower It wasn’t the cheap Bob Barker brand either Pool was open until 10 The kids loved swimming In the evening I was the last to go to bed and the kids and my husband were sprawled across the 2 queen beds I went down to the front desk for a blanket and was given the works to set up the sofa bed Also had washer and dryer so I could dry some of our clothes Breakfast was phenomenal! Cereal, hot oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, bagels and cinnamon rolls and coffee! Also employees were helpful and nice I think I had to goup to the front desk to ask questions about 5 times and they didn’t get sick of meI think I missed a few things but anyway you get the picture! A great family place to stay! ❤ Oh and they had a keriug in the room! Made our day!

Our company booked 20 people at this hotel during an annual conference at Purdue University, upon learning our room block elsewhere was accidentally canceled The General Manager Robert Dudek was the one who took care of all reservations, keeping all accommodations straight (despite several changes up until days before the event) We very much appreciate the care given to our staff & customers at this hotel

and the extra assistance from Mr Dudek Thanks again!

I remember this hotel being much nicer than it was The landscaping was sad lookingThe bedspread was stained

The bathroom floor and bath tub were in desperate need of a deep scrubbing They charged me $25 to unlock my room after I forgot my key, which is fine if that’s policy, but it was not busy at all when I asked and the manager didn’t mention the charge I just saw it on my bank account At least let people know the policyThe pool was gross It really needed a deep clean The pool area would be nice except having carpet surrounding the pool gives the place a musty/mold smell If you have allergies or are mold sensitive I would avoid this hotelOverall it was overpriced and a bit depressing of a placeThere is no reason it can’t be a nice hotelIt just needs to be taken care of better and customer service could be friendlier/more helpful

Here are some highlights: hair in shower, sink and bed Obviously, my room had been tidied, but not cleaned It was better than the first room they gave me, though- someone had been smoking in that room

Smell of mold permeated entire atrium and hallways TV did not work Bare feet on carpet seems risky Shower was accessible, and water ran allOver the floor of the bathroom during shower It couldn’t be helped and then shoes were required to enter the bathroom after the shower Potholes – HUGE potholes- were all over parking lot Weeds all over landscaping This was like staying in an abandoned property Restaurant is closed But who would eat in such a filthy establishment? Hardly anyone was at this hotel, but the people who were there were extremely loud – the room was buffered by screaming and crying both inside the hotel and out in the lot A loud dog was barking in another room The other guests I saw seemed sketchy There are no “renovations” happening, and a demolition is the only way to fix this property I’m at Purdue a lot to visit my son, so this location was great, but I would have much rather been farther away and/or paid more somewhere else This is a hideous hotel and I’ll never stay here again Avoid it at all costs

The Front desk staff were very helpful and nice young ladies The rooms definitely need work Pretty much a gut job is needed

Showers in both rooms were unusable There was no cold water in the bath or sinks The furniture was stained, torn and very outdated Beds were very worn and although the bedding looked clean it was stained Carpets were so bad I didn’t take my shoes off until I went to bed I would expect this out of a $5900 a night motel but not a $16500 Come on Hilton you can do much better than this Yes, we did change hotels for the rest of our trip
