Lovely little retreat! So cozy The room was cute and updated, and the grounds were beautiful! Easy access, easy check-in Friendly staff

There is a train station nearby, which you could occasionally hear, and the A/C unit was a little noisy I sleep through anything typically, so it didn’t bother me My wife is a light sleeper, so she was aware of itStill, the great outweighed the not so good Would definitely be back, and recommend for others!

Heather Ann

Great little motel Clean, amazing bed non toxic cleaners

I am sensitive to harsh chemicals No harsh chemicals here My only complaint is the noise above and poor insulation so I heard people walking above me If you are sensitive to sound, go for a top floor I stayed in King Deluxe room; very nice overall Even the bathtub has a grab bar I will definitely stay here again

I am not a fan of leaving 1 star reviews but our stay at the Ayres Hotel was one of the worst experiences staying in hotels I have ever experiencedUpon arrival we were greeted by a security guard who let us in to the lobby (we arrived late), check-in went well, and the overall atmosphere and decor of the Hotel looked great! I was excited, it appears well kept and clean -Which it isNight 1 our stay went well, the next morning we decided to go visit family, and as such we left our card on the door that says do not disturb

( we didnt want our beds made and we were fine on towels ) We came back to our hotel that late afternoon to discover that the staff STILL entered our room I noticed the cash I had on my nightstand was also missing ( it was only 3 or 4 dollars ) I made all of us go through our personal belongings to make sure I we didn’t accidentally take the cash off the nightstand -We didn’tI went to the front counter to express my concern that we left the sign on the door, and that the staff had still entered I informed the front desk person “Cody” that I think we had the cleaning staff enter our room when we did not want it, and we are missing 3 or 4 dollars, not a big deal but the principal behind it was why I wanted to lodge a complaintWe later found out that my wife’s brand new slippers also went missing that day Cody did his best to try to be understanding but offered no resolution other than “sorry that happened to you , I will inform our manager” And that was that I emailed their manager and have received 0 response My next step is to contact their corporate office to at least let them know of this unsavory behavior in hopes the sticky handed staff will be busted Aside from the theft it is a pretty nice hotel

We were in town for my parents funeral and we were recommended here by Miller-Jones Mortuary I was not disappointed!! I have a difficult time staying at hotels because i used to manage a hotel for many years so the last few hotels we stayed at were a disappointment But NOT here

the front desk staff was super courteous, the rooms were very clean, even the towels (which are what I always look at to determine the cleanliness) had no spots!!! Floors and carpets were clean (no stains) and the hallways and room smelled fresh Definately be coming back here next time we are in California!!

Joanne Douds

Loved staying at the Ares for a four day wedding! Staff was professional and friendly, rooms were large and well apointed Loved having a kitchen area in room with microwave, small refrigerator and coffee machineBreakfast was plentiful, I would suggest they add a high brand non fat Greek yoghert to replace the brand they currently have

Wonderful in every way!

Beautiful hotel! The staff was very friendly and professional The chef was so nice and talkative My room was clean, smelled nice and a good temperature

Their complimentary breakfast seemed way to nice and tasty to be a “complimentary” breakfast My only complaint if I had to find one would be that the area seemed just a little sketch Not bad, just not super great I’m not from the area so I could be totally off Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area

Dee Denyse

I loved my stay it was the last thing me and my boyfriend are going to do because he is going to have surgery and won’t be able to go out for while so it was really special to me, this hotel stay it was clean and organized The staff was friendly and kind

The bed was really comfortable firm but soft enough The pillows were my favorite I truly enjoyed my stay thank you very much I will always cherish this trip

Roberto Villanueva

This was our first time visiting this hotel Booked this place because of its ratings and proximity to University of Redlands The people who greeted us were very helpful and pleasant

Our accommodations were quite pleasingcomfortable beds and an ample desk to work on What really surprised us was the breakfast next day My wife had ordered an omelet and had requested it to be cooked “well done” She cut into it, and it was not done correctly She inquired if they might be able to cook it more, was toldno Much to our surprise, the chef came over and asked if he could assist, we explained the situation, and left it at that Shortly afterwards, he arrives with a new omelet, well doneand my wife enjoyed it Little details like this make a big difference in creating a loyal customer We are most definitely coming back again Thanks for your people’s efforts, this was a pleasure to respond in a most positive way 😎👍👍👍👍

We love this place and have been there all four seasons, the home is walking distance from Bear Mountain Ski resort and has fantastic views from the great room, dining room, kitchen, and front deck There is also a national forest a block away with trails and a great hill to ride tubes or sleds The lake is a short drive away for boating, fishing, and swimming

You can also walk down to the Zoo or the golf course which are about three blocks away BUT if you want to never leave the home there is a 8 person hot tub, full high speed internet service, nice kitchen, three large bedrooms and three full baths! The Great room and master suite both have fireplaces and there is also a gas bbq on the front deck

This place was fabulous for our family stay! Great location within walking distance of the ski resort, sledding hills, and hiking/biking trails The views of the ski slopes are breathtaking The jacuzzi was perfect after a long day of skiing

There are TVs in all the bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms This is the perfect summer and winter getaway!

Wow what a great location This home is two blocks from Bear Mountain ski resort and you can literally sit on the couch in the great room and see all the actions on the slopes The home has three large bedrooms, three baths, two fireplaces, and a large hot tub, plus the home has cable, WiFi, and an air hockey table

It was an alright hotel Not terrible, but not great eitherThe blankets weren’t as clean as I had hoped

(Not terrible just a few small black stains on one of the beds)The hotel worker at the front had kids they brought to work, taking care of them and trying to operate the hotel at the same timeTheir situation may or may not be intentional, but it is still unprofessional and takes away from the customer service of the businessBathroom was very clean and spaciousTV worked well and had many channelsHad a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker as well all clean and in working orderThe breakfast was good Pre-made omelet, and bacon, (not crunchy), among grab and go’s such as muffins, orange juice, and coffee

Gerard Hines

Nice clean hotel Great location Close proximity to shopping and restaurants

Only problem is they advertised truck and bus parking which usually means they have ample amount of parking space for commercial trucks and buses, which was not the case Parking is very limited Other than that, I really enjoyed my stay Would definitely recommend

T. Upton

I believe the manager I was speaking to during check in was named Christian He went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as pleasant as possible As a person who travels frequently, it has been rare to find such gentleman, and professional qualities in the hospitality business~ I will add the quality of the room was also top notch

It will be a pleasure to stay here again on my next visit Thank you~

The experience was very negative overall The main issue is the cleanliness of the hotel Overall poor housekeeping of the rooms, bathrooms, and general gathering areas of the hotel

Overflowing trash cans in the breakfast area, dirty floors in the hallways and room, a dirty shower that stayed the same dirty despite me asking each morning of my stay for housekeeping to thoroughly clean the shower including the walls Even after specifying what the issues were and where, it was still not clean See attached pictures of what appears to be bloody prints on the shower wall and other dirt, not sure what, as well)I stay at Hilton brand hotels frequently and rarely experienced this level of unsatisfactory cleaning Additionally, the evening/nighttime front desk person was not pleasant and came off very rude and condescending to me and my coworker, separately I do not recommend staying at this hotel

Don Palmer

The room was very spacious The grounds were well kept, and the breakfast buffet was better than the average hotel buffets I loved that I was able to check in, get my digital room key, and check out from the app

Only thing I would like to see is an online map showing room # locations and access doors It took us a bit to find parking near the closest entry to our room without any avaliable online map

Selena Chen

Very great place to study because it is close to my school I hope they can build more in our bay area or even a hotel apartment for these business people And I hope the price is not too much if they want to stay as long

And please use the rental assistance as well I hope to see this more in the future My place where I stayed was very bad Job less, health less, and very homeless because everything was control by some people RUDE! I like your place! Get breakfast and housekeeping I can go to work and study without any worry I hope to this project soon

We had requested a room away from the highway because of the noise We arrived late at night and we’re assigned a very noisy room In addition the air conditioner did not work

However, we were allowed to switch to a quiet room with a functional AC unit the next day The front desk staff were helpful in solving this issue The rooms were clean and comfortable The rest of the public areas(elevators, entrance, pool and breakfast area) were totally unkept I realize that there is a shortage of help; but I would think cleanliness would be important especially with COVID still a factor

Roshani W

We booked with Holiday Inn Express in Beaumont for our wedding guests at Serendipity this pass June and was so happy we went with them! They were very easy to work with and accommodated all the details needed so our guests felt welcome and well rested They delivered welcome bags (we provided) to each guests checking in It was easy coordinating with them and great to work with

TEMPLAR SECURITY

Great experience We fit 3 adults in a room with a single bed Slept on the sofa-sleeper

Not bad at all This is if you’re pinching pennies If you don’t mind spending a little extra, you’ll have extra space But regardless of your room, the service is great Amazing breakfast selection Good coffee and tea Bacon, eggs, biscuits All of it

I’ve stayed in lots of hotels across the country and have enjoyed my stay here more than any other in recent years, including the local Hampton Inn & Suites nearby This was comparable, but without the waffles This Comfort Suites is shopping, restaurant and freeway close without being too noisy

The area is nice with friendly people The hotel itself is nice, clean and quiet Didn’t hear any dogs or kids, which is a plus! Room and bed were clean and comfy At check in and throughout my stay, Alex at the front desk was friendly, hospitable, very professional and accommodating The pool was clean and well-kept, as was the spa; both were spacious, and I got to swim by myself a few times without anyone else in the pool and patio area Patio has shade and sun; however, currently, there’s construction going on on the other side of the patio fence between the hotel and freeway Overall, a 10 stay and I will definitely return! Thanks, Alex!

Very dirty hotel! They seem to pride themselves on being “unassuming”Upon checking in, I was asked for my bookingcom confirmation number

I showed my confirmation email and with that information, they were able to cancel my reservation and rebook directly through the hotel This also prevented me from leaving a review on bookingcomI didn’t realize until after checking out and was looking to leave a reviewWhen asking for an early check-in or late departure, they try to charge you $50 regardless of availability When you decline, they act like they are doing you a huge favor by accommodating you anywaysThey were stingy with their pool towels and extra pillows which were many years past their expiration Yet they let homeless people come in and take all of the breakfast foodTheir pool was covered in slimy algae Lighting was dim It felt like a dank basementSofa bed was in dire need of being replaced It felt like springs between two sheets Closet door was busted so it couldn’t be opened Wallpaper was peeling Some outlets didn’t work The shower walls were badly stainedEverything was tired and dirty Front desk staff are hardly around You have to yell for someone to get their attention Very obvious this hotel is poorly managed

Pauline Skaggs

Yes, the room reeked of cumin!!! We left the window open several days in a row! The hallway smelled awful, too! Room 312, on the third floor Avoid it like the plague! Breakfast was a sack with a juice, a granola bar The hotel clearly states hot breakfast on it’s site

Their cafe was sealed shut with two closed doors with a landscape painting A party of 5 people were upset as they had to provide an additional meal they hadn’t planned on Cutting corners everywhere! Don’t stay here!!

Please DO NOT book here! Unless you are OK with having thousands of dollars taken from your account The total cost of our room was $168000

When I checked in on Friday, they charged me $1700 which I assumed was for taxes, incidentals, etc I was expecting this Sunday morning, I was SHOCKED to find an additional charge for $1000 So now I’ve paid $2700 for a room that was only supposed to be $1680 When I called down to ask what was going on, Marlena (manager), said this is just how their system works and we will get the money back when we check out on Monday Obviously, this has ruined our vacation as we no longer have enough money to safely move forward with our plans and get home Unless you are OK with not having money on your trip, DO NOT BOOK HERE!Another thing that really upset me is that the smoke alarm went off when I was taking a hot shower When I called down to have them turn it off, the first thing out of Trey’s (night staff) mouth was “well, how was I supposed to know it was going off” Not, “sorry, I’ll take care of this now!” Not, “just a moment, please” Just “how was I supposed to know it was going off”??? That was the last straw for me If they hadn’t taken 1k out of my account, I would have checked out and left immediately! It’s also worth noting that the shower curtain was way too small in the bathroom and left huge pools of water on the floorThe service here is also not very good It took them way too long to check me in, did not honor my request for extra towels or pillows, and generally didn’t seem interested in creating a comfortable experience for us as guests Not impressed and do not recommend

Great job receptionist clerks Martha, Ari, Adrianna and the Housekeeping Staff! These ladies are always Earth Angels when I am here visiting the MoVal area They make sure my stay is always exceptional! All the times that I have stayed here (in different hotel rooms) it has always been clean comfortable and quiet If I needed any accommodations these ladies (mentioned above) and the housekeeping staff made it first priority to service my request

Thanks Marriott team and housekeeping for making my every stay Great!

Jeniva Trotter

My family and I had to stay here for two months because our house had floodedWe had to go here because it was the only thing available at the time that allowed pets(They say they are pet friendly, they mean dog friendly

)We told them we had pets and were told that it was okay It wasn’t until after we had to go somewhere else that they said we couldn’t come back because we had cats with usEven when my mother tried to go back because that was her last resort they wouldn’t let her in because she owned cats EVEN THOUGH those cats were with us at our grandparents, nowhere near there(We assumed that cats were allowed because when we checked in we were not told otherwise, and it clearly says “Cats Allowed”We were not aware that some of the staff there was allergic to cats, as they didn’t say anything)They also gave away my parents room AFTER my mother called to make sure that it was not going to be given to someone else They ended up going to another hotel for the night, but anywayAlso there was half eaten taquitos in the poolPersonally wouldn’t recommend, but I guess it’s different for everyone

The cabin was nice and the beds are goodThe cabin had a decent fresh smellThere wasn’t enough towels to accommodate the number of people visiting

The microwave was spotted up with greaseThe floors were dirty and we didn’t locate a broom or mop Maybe there was one in the unit but we didn’t see it Overall I’d come back because it’s a nice place to stay in a rural area away from the metropolitan areas

Joe Doxie

My girlfriend and I took a spontaneous trip to Big Bear and came across Grey Squirrel Resort when looking for weekend lodging We found everything we were looking for at Grey Squirrel Comfortable and clean accommodations, a well maintained pool, wonderful grounds and landscape, a rustic feel with a modern vibe

The entire weekend was pleasant, and we attribute that to Grey Squirrel Resort Their location is perfect to explore Big Bear and the Lake It’s the type of place you want to make part of a tradition; plan stays with family and friends, and then return with just your lover for romantic retreats

Joellen Hutchins

Our experience Terrible We stayed in the cabin called the Honeymoon Cabin for our 15 year anniversary, and it was definitely not very romantic at all The room smell strongly of smoke, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable

I woke up each morning with a sore back and a terrible cramp in my neck Also, we were warned that the wall heater would make sounds at night when the metal expanded, BUT OH MY GOODNESS!! The first time it the sound happened it was around 11:30pm and it woke us up from a dead sleep We actually thought at first that someone had shot a gun on the premises until we heard it again an hour later So basically every hour or so we would be woken up by this loud BANG! Needles to say we were supposed to stay for 3 nights and choose to only torture ourselves for 2 Even though we lost out on the money for the 3rd night we left We do not recommend this location if you enjoy your sleep

Quaint & Clean but not tranquil Right off a busy road; we could hear traffic day and night They have a small patch of fenced in grass in the middle of the complex where they let people leave their dogs

All morning, one dog was there crying All afternoon, 4 little yippy dogs barked every time the wind blew a leaf or someone walked up the stairsNext time, we’ll go all the way to Big Bear or Lake Arrowhead This might be a good spot for ski seasonPrice was very reasonable compared to manyOwner’s son was very very nice, and helped us carry our luggage up the stairs Note – not a good location for handicap

Stephanie Whitmore

Very disappointed in the owner’s customer service I booked a room for myself and two young children Mom traveling solo with kids

When we arrived for check-in, the power was out at the hotel This is clearly a health, safety and security issue – to stay without heat and lights The owner offered me a camping lantern and was not willing to work with us any sort of refund or credit Shame on him

Courtney Werth

Giant Oaks Lodge was great I ended up staying in two different room when i extended last minute103 – The 2 Bed Basic was a nice little room with great wooden ambiance

I would book here by myself or with another person, the space is long but not wide in the bedroom and the beds take up alot of width, although the bathroom is comparitively large and roomy Its a nice spot to come home to after running around in the San Bernardino108 – The 3 Bed Spa Lodge was awesome The room was huge, theres a spa bath and a shower, it has its own balcony porch, and basically i loved it Great for a honeymoon suite or a couples stay in the mountains but it could hold a family with no problem Loved itThe staff was great, very accomodating to all my requests Their sign up for pool time protocol was a great idea so you and your family can book yourselves an hour at the pool where its all yours!I loved this little getaway Great little spot!

Food choices are decent and there is no bad food to be had Floor staff are always present and helpfulValet or Self Parking with easeWorth a visit or stay Outlet Stores are very close and everything is freeway adjacentI look forward to staying in the hotel for a 3 day weekend to give an expanded review

We are not regulars here just passing throughI thought it was very clean, And definitely a lively casino with a lot of patrons Look like it had some good dining choices

Never made it past the casino floor to any of the rooms Security wouldn’t let us view the pool area Staff at the store we stopped in was very nice

I went to the Morongo Casino and Spa with friends and had a great time This hotel, casino, and spa, is a world class destination in a beautiful setting in the California desert The hotel tower rises like a Phoenix in the desert, and there’s a gorgeous pool and spa

It was snowing in the mountains the day I visited and it was cold outside while it was warm in the casinoThe gaming floor is huge and a high tech wonder! All the slot machines are video based with colorful displays that are amazing You can gamble a penny, a nickel, quarter, dollar, a ten, or twenty on up In other words, there is something for everyoneThere’s plenty to do! With slots and table games including blackjack, video poker, and several bars and a multitude of restaurants, you never have to leave If you do want to explore, one of the largest outlet malls in the United States is right next door, and there’s a Starbucks right there too Plus Palm Springs/Hollywood East is just 20 minutes away by carAdmittedly, I’m not a gambler, though me and my gambling friends had fun at the Morongo Casino! Be sure to visit and tell them Roy sent you! Cheers!

Really nice place, staff are beyond friendly The rooms are quite and clean There’s a shuttle to the casino every 30 minutes

Most importantly the restaurant The Bistro! Ive eaten there 3 times and I can’t say enough great things about it Super posh dishes with regular prices Fine dinning in your room or on the outdoor beautiful patioThere’s a gym and computer to use if needed Also nice pool area and hot tub Hit tubs not that hot but still enjoyableThe hotel is right off the freeway, but I personally didn’t even notice the noise if there was any

The front desk staff are very courteous, pleasant and delightful to talk to (we also talk to Ruby, and she’s pleasant as wekll) The members of the cleaning department are always smiling and ready to help My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in May and June 2022, we’re both happy and very satisfied with the room that we stayed in

It was very clean and the shower room is spacious and it has a detachable shower for tall and small people The hotel has a 24-hour/7 days a week shuttle to/from Yamaava casino, location is convenient to go grocery shopping, and eating places There are security guards outside and inside the hotel, that makes you feel safe any time of the day Overall, this hotel is classy and I recommend it to families as well

First of all This is a very nice, stylish hotel It has it’s good points and flaws

The beds are very comfortable The towels are large and plentiful, and the showers are roomy and modern I do want to point out a few things, though These rooms are NOT big enough for a family of 5but there were several large families hereI can only hope they reserved two roomsThe reservation agent messed up my dates, and I had to call VIP services at Yaamava a few times to get it fixed Finally, Kim came to my rescue THANK YOU! Great customer service! The Bistro is a little on the pricy side I ordered the stuffed chicken thighs, but was told that they were out of that item There was a set of oil and vinegar bottles on the table, so I asked for bread I was told that there was none I was offered yucca chips instead HATED THEM I asked the man who brought me my food if he had bread, and he came back with ciabatta bread for me?!?! So, the tip was minimal It would have been more if the other waiter was more efficientsmh

My stay was more than exceptional I was on an extended stay for work While staying here the staff made me feel at home

From management to housekeeping, the staff is great I’ve been to plenty of hotels that are not very warm and sincere The staff made every single encounter wonderful The hotel itself has great-free breakfast, clean facilities such as a wash room and gym My room was kept exceptionally clean I rarely had to reach out for any assistance This is a 5 star hotel with an affordable price in my opinion Will be visiting again Marriot/Bonvoy will always have my business

My experience with this hotel was veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad!!!! My husband booked this hotel with Marriott application and on the app it showed that we had until June 21st to cancel for free but apparently the application was showing the wrong date for cancellation free! So they charged us our whole stay without taking any responsibility! Also when I called them and asked them to at least change my date to another time they wanted to even charged me extra for changing the dates! I was very unsatisfied with my experience with this hotel and I DO NOT recommend it!

My family and I were displaced from our home from a traumatic event in September of last year We had moved to this hotel because there were incidents at other hotels that were making it difficult to live there as we had no home at the time We came here to town place and what felt like a great and promising transition as we met the manager and were aware of our situation ended up leading to disappointments

There was an attempted break-in inside the bedroom with my brother and the police did not come to speak to me nor did the staff come to ask if we were okay It seems the cleaning staff is expected to do a lot there so if felt like they were bothered we kept asking so much from them There was a lot of contempt from the staff when persistent help was being asked I am unsure if the staff was aware of our situation to understand the reasoning for so much customer service being needed since the hotel was becoming our temporary home Please take this as advice that if your hotel is going to allow situations like ours to be allowed to stay at your hotel due to being displaced then one should understand that good customer service is among the top priority for one All this did was add more trauma and stress than what we actually needed, outside of being displaced from our home Let this be a lesson to assume that rare situations like ours have good reason to constantly needed customer service We were treated elsewhere at a different hotel with phenomenal staff who understood our situation very well and was very accommodating Please take this as fair criticism to improve in areas that need improvement

BUG INFESTATION! the owners were terrible and wanted to spray INSECTICIDES with us in the room they offered a refund then rescinded the offer they tried to offer us another room, then charges us for fire wood TO HEAT that room

feel free to ask any questions i will gladly answer them they made our anniversary/wedding proposal a terrible weekend mostly due to their uncaring responses! book elsewhere, anywhere else!!!! i wish there was a negative rating! ask any locals and find out what a piece of dirt the owner is i incurred many additional expenses, relocation, had to eat out, have all our linens sanitized for bugs! tried to salvage my proposal weekend

We just recently stayed for the fourth of July and we really enjoyed our stay! Amazing location! We had a problem with the gas leaking in our cabin and the owner had someone try and fix it and was communicating with us directly throughout the trip Unfortunately the gas never got fixed, otherwise I would say this would be 5 stars! This is a basic cabin for a camping like experience, but definitely got the job done! We will definitely be back when looking to experience Big Bear Lake again
