Wow! This is a really great hotel Small property with spacious beautiful and clean rooms The bed was maybe the most comfortable bed my wife and I have ever had the pleasure to sleep upon

The level of hospitality is very high here and so is the attention to detail The welcoming goody bag, with excellent wine and snacks and the morning breakfast are excellent amenities We stayed in a View King room which had a small balcony with unobstructed views of the San Francisco skyline and bay (picture is from our private balcony) Really no worries with booking this hotel, we will be repeat guests next time we choose to visit the Bay Area

Eddie Melvin

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a boutique hotel, not part of an upscale chain I was pleasantly surprised Unlike a large upscale hotel chain, they delivered

Morning breakfast was on-time The room was comfortable We booked the largest suite with the large private balcony, and we liked it a lot Sausolito is not within walking or short biking distance There is no direct ferry connection either This helps to keep the very small business district relatively quiet

Big Mike

Been there a few times I’m kind of local only live a couple hours away Love to stay there when visiting angel island

Can’t beat enjoying a glass of wine on the deck looking at the night lights of sf and the bay Short walk to the ferry Great staff did however miss the wine and cheese hour this trip Loved the breakfast Now the negatives Which aren’t deal breakers I need and got a Ada room Sadly I have a lot of stuff and the end tables just don’t do it Need to be bigger, by the time you place a cpap machine lay out your meds ect I’m placing things on my wheelchair 2nd thing beds are to soft You sink down 4 inches Need to be a little firmer I would have loved the bed being a foot higher with my bum legs But split the difference 6 inches would have been helpful Something for them to consider Like I said not a deal breaker When I’m back that way I will be checking in again

We wanted a hotel in the heart of Berkeley This is not a big chain hotel with a lobby, so if you need a concierge, this is not for you There is someone at the “desk” all night but it is pretty casual

They lock the door at night and you ring the bell The room was clean and everything worked The bed comfortable, small deck with chairs There was enough room to move our large suitcases in and settle Decent size bathroom with walk in shower The best part was heading down to get coffee in the café, a real hot spot of old men in deep discussions on the merits of a semi-neo-democratic socialist society or the final days of Tsarist Russia Some hocking their latest book My wife settling in and spoke with one group and ended up seeing a slide show on the loss of the great buildings of Paris by some retired history professor The coffee and baked goods are outstanding We also took walks around the hills every morning We will definitely stay here again

debora davila

I found the room, particularly the floors, rug and countertops very dirty Daily room cleaning has been discontinued due to Covid protocol but surely this shouldn’t be an excuse to forego cleanliness The rug and floors were filthy and looked like they simply hadn’t been mopped

The rug should be replaced I would not stay here again

Sarah Anchors

Pretty nice and cozy Great location, next to Safeway Community Markets (convenient for grabbing quick food items), next to and a short walk to many shots, restaurants and BART There were a few hootches with the room, but they fixed it all

Walls are a bit thin, but, it’s not the institutional chain hotel Nice shower and lights and comfy bed Nice balcony Microwave and fridge and tea kettle Big TV The cafe downstairs is pretty good and has a great atmosphere Very international clientele (mostly French) Yes, you do have to buzz in after hours, but someone always came to open the door right away

Rob Chambers

We had a bay/bridge view room which was great, the bridge did show itself out of the fog on a couple of occasions during our stayThe room was huge compared to many other hotels we have stayed in, however, the bathroom was small in comparison to the rest of the roomBed was super comfy! We used the Blue Mermaid for drinks on a couple of occasions, the service was good and liked the outdoor seating area

I’d recommend the hotel as other than great facilities, it has a great location right on fisherman’s wharf

russ gennery

We are not versed travellers and have not stayed in a lot of hotels but I have to say, without question, the Argonaut Hotel is THE nicest hotel we have ever stayed inWe chose a bay view King room which was just amazing A huge room with fabulous character and a glorious view across the bay with the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance

Everyone in the hotel is so friendly and helpful The lobby/lounge area is just beautiful and the Blue Mermaid restaurant is great Step outside and you have so many choices of where you go and where to eat all within walking distanceWe highly recommend the Argonaut Hotel so much so that when we return, and we will some day, this is the only hotel we would come to stay at It is that goodThank you everyone at the Argonaut Hotel for making it holiday so special Peace ✌️ and Love ❤️ Russ and Jackie Clements

David Poole

Newly renovated, unlike some Garden Inns, this hotel has truly upscale accommodations I had a splendid stay until I went down for breakfast, finding a breakfast policy with absolutely no continental option for your $10 credit I had unknowingly walked in and acknowledged my credit at check in, declining the points add back offered

This was an annual Honors stay offered for Diamond members, the only redemption to this story If I had paid for this room I would be much more feisty 😇

David Bunjac

Very good hotel for the price point and very conveniently located in Emeryville close to the Bay Bridge and Oakland Inside, it’s quiet, clean and most importantly, the beds are very comfortable! The neighborhood is safe with good shopping very close The downside is the property is aging and is showing signs of wear

Good maintenance is trying to keep up, but there are still flaws that will only be corrected with a major rehab No safe in the room and aging furniture Water pressure so-so $20 breakfast buffet that was not much better than what you’d see for free in other properties, so the dining room was empty at breakfast time with hot trays full standing for who knows how long But despite those problems, I would stay again It’s a good base to explore SF or the rest of the Bay Area and not too expensive That’s why I give four stars

Kristina Boler

The location is very convenient and the hotel is nice in appearance The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were cleanPlease note that you do have to pay $20 a day for parking which though I did notice that when we made the reservation, I thought that was a lot just to park

In my opinion, it should be free for choosing to stay there The breakfast was good but again, over priced They don’t have a pool but I was okay because I looked forward to the hot tub which was sadly closed when we were staying there So lots of plus’s and minuses but the location was worth it for our travel plans

This hotel is a great value with FREE onsite parking If you are comparing prices, be sure to add the additional parking fees other places chargeThe room was clean with plenty of room

Rebecca Curran

My daughter and I stayed here after our Airbnb didn’t work out (it wasn’t private and we didn’t know!) and we were so happy with our choice The room was clean, comfortable, and the hotel was conveniently located We also got free parking and the staff was amazing

Everyone was friendly and one person (Tony) was especially helpful when the garage on the main floor was full and he gave us his spot!!

Kristina Abbey

I have stayed at this hotel several times and been glad I did each time The staff is largely friendly and helpfulWhile the rooms could use a little refreshing, it is still clean and comfortable

Best parts of staying here, parking is included and destination spots like Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Ghirardelli Square, and Pier 39 are all within a short walk from the room

Pete VR

Comfortable bed The desk is a little narrow which is important for my work trips Friendly staff

No complaints with other amenities (towels, soaps, shower) I’d recommend this place Valet was reasonably fast With the exception of the coffee shop attached to the hotel, there are good dining options within walking distance Regarding coffee shop, black coffee was bitter and if I didn’t need the boost I would have poured it out I can also appreciate/understand that some places have to mark up food prices, but $4 for a grocery store cup of yogurt is excessive I should have stuck with the $6 breakfast burrito

Jess Brant

This review is difficult to write because certain aspects of the hotel are great and others are notRoom – We stayed in the nicest sweet with the exception of the penthouse, we stayed in the Jack London Suite Great size room

great layout however there are quite a few issues with the room First off the bed is extremely uncomfortable to the point where we cut our stay short by one night because we could not get a good night’s rest Second issue the sofa bed our daughter was going to sleep on was zip tied shut (no exaggeration) During our stay there was also a shortage of pillows and blankets For the room we could only get four total pillows and three blankets when I called down During my travels this is the first time there has been a shortage on pillows and blankets Another issue I had during our stay our room was never cleaned or turned downStaff – The staff is great!Location – Location is great very close to the ferry that takes you across the bay to San FranOverall review as others have stated on here, you are better off staying at a different hotel which isn’t dated/worn down The amount we spent during our stay, we also paid for the last night we didn’t even stay in the hotel Despite me bringing the issues to management there was a lack of a empathy

Paige M

The locations and views are wonderful Staff is friendly I upgraded my room and that’s where the issues started

The first room’s heat did not work We were moved to another room It was just dirty, which I noticed the next day after our late night move I brought it to front desk attention, but the report there was really nothing they could do I have reached out to Hyatt It looks so nice online and lobby is adorable Just frustrating!Edit: manager reached out and was very helpful

Bridget Floyd

This is such a charming hotel! I would definitely stay here again! As others mentioned, there is no elevator or A/C but it’s an older historic building so that’s understandable We actually enjoyed being able to open the windows and let in the fresh Berkeley air Parking was $15 overnight which is reasonable for the area

If you want a cookie cutter room you should stay at the Hyatt in Emeryville, if you want a cute, European-style hotel close to campus this is the perfect place!

Mark Chrystal

I traveled 2250 miles from Pittsburgh to help my son move out of the nearby dorms, only to arrive as agreed in my reservation to find that the doors were chained shut They took my reservation for a 2-night stay, but there was no access to the hotel and nobody would answer a phone call or email I have never had this experience at a hotel before

I was pretty amazed

Menu Mystique

The building is old and dilapidated It’s dark and depressing inside, feels like my Grandmother’s attic I don’t like this place, it feels unhealthy and someone would certainly do better renting either a modern room that’s has simple, common amenities OR, if one prefers something less corporate (as I assume some readers of this review might be hoping for), there are many other options close by which will certainly be more enjoyable

Additionally, if you own a car, this place isn’t for you The parking lot is a joke, too tight, too small, trying to squeeze every space they can make in order to maximize revenue by charging ridiculously high prices for parking There is a kitchen downstairs but please be aware that it’s old, not up to modern standards and is overall a health risk

Considering all the travel reviews we post, this may be the first time we have reviewed a property we have not actually completed our stay atMy wife and I checked into the Moxy for a two night stay earlier today The lobby and bar area looked very cool and had a fun vibe about it

We definitely looked forward to spending some time there during our stay Sarah and Libby assisted us at check-in at the end of the bar Both were very friendly and professionalShortly after arriving at our room we realized that the location of the hotel was not convenient to the location of the event we were attending Bad planning on our partUnderstanding that we were well outside the 24-hour cancellation policy, we returned to the front desk and asked if we had any options to cancel Both Sarah and Libby were very understanding and took care of our cancellation needs immediatelyThe high level and friendly service we received from Libby and Sarah is what continues to make the Marriott properties our only choice when traveling Thank you!

Clancy Taylor

The staff was kind and courteous, great albeit a bit small rooms Feels very hip and modern Nice hotelWord to the wise tho, my bags were stolen from me while I was unloading my car at 430pm on a Saturday

Folks just drove up, took them while I was unloading and drove away Not the hotels fault, but just be hyper aware when uploading and loading your car

Brendan T. Westfall

This is the second Moxy my partner and I have stayed in, and it was just as pleasant as the first! There was plenty of street parking available around the hotel, and the welcome drinks were a nice touch The furniture and games in the lobby were appreciated, and the room and bathroom were well-decorated as well We would stay again if we make another trip to SF!

We enjoyed our stay The room was great and the front desk staff were lovelyParking is an issue – hence deducting a star

You can offload your stuff in the loading bay but then you need to park off-site Contrary to what is stated on the hotel’s confirmation emails, valet parking is currently NOT available You can self-park at the parking garage opposite (Rincon center) which is secure but expensive (we paid $47 for a day) and the spaces are very tight (fine for Europeans like us – the tightness of the space might be a culture shock to people used to big parking spaces – especially if you are driving a big car!)That said, I guess you are going to have a parking problem most places in central SF

Good location, clean, quick and easy check in/out I can see that this would be a nice spot for company retreat or off-site meetings Shower water pressure is one of the worst I’ve experienced – no pressure at all, reminds me of some of the cheap hotels in 3rd world countries

House keeping needs to be requested, which is understandable given current situation but they didn’t provide bottle water

Super Girl

I love everything about the Tiburon lodge and while the rooms are not cheap every single stay has been absolutely wonderful It has a beautiful seaside feel to it with low pile indoor outdoor carpeting, outdoor pool hot tub and super comfy beds and they pet friendly!! Over the years they have welcomed both of my big dogs to come stay with me The Tiburon tavern has such amazing food and sometimes live music and a neat outdoor diningarea

For me coming from a rural area Tiburon itself is an oasis of peaceful calm in the middle of the crazy busy congested Bay area, and that alone is worth the price of admission One time we were there over Christmas and they had a very soulful hometown kind of sing-along caroling tree lighting event downtown that was cool Now you may like to always pick something different to do but Im the sort of person that likes doing what is familiar and only feel happy if I get to stay at the Tiburon Lodge whenever I travel to the San Francisco Bay area and I recommend all my friends stay there too I have so many great memories there over the years and if you have time you can go walk along the bay or go visit The hippy swinging tree on the top of Tiburon, we’ve also hopped on the ferry right there and gone over to Angel Island for a day it’s a great hub point for different activities

A dream come true property, this is what service is all about The team at the Fairmont Heritage Place will delight your soulOutstanding 5 star experience

The service was impeccable from all staff members Initially, we only booked for a 2 week stay and kept extending, for another 5 months while we were remodeling our home We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with high end amenities, including a full kitchen and washer and dryer in every residence, which is very difficult to find in San Francisco Along with my family being extremely happy with our stay, our dog had a fabulous time as well, as they are pet friendly and supplied him with a dog bed, dog bowls, and dog treats The doorman loved to give him treats as we would come and goBesides staying in luxury, you are in a prime and safe location, just upstairs from Ghirardelli Square You are also in close walking distance from Fisherman’s Wharf, North Beach, Fort Mason, and the Marina DistrictThe Mustard Terrace was our favorite part of the hotel It has spectacular views of Alcatraz, the bay and the world’s famous Ghirardelli sign above We loved hanging out on the comfy outdoor couches by the fire pit, day or night The hotel also offers a complimentary generous wine and cheese hour every Wednesday and Friday which was a wonderful perkWe can’t thank the entire staff enough who went out of their way to make our stay feel like home I can honestly say, the staff treated everyone like family! A few of them are Marco, Stephen, Aziz, Ryan, YuMi, Jean, Jason, Jeff, Asim, Lucia, Michelle, Johnson, Byron, The housekeeping team, Dallas, Karina, and Sarah And of course the managers Jonathan, Dan, and Jessica

Brandon Milton

We stayed here for two nights to do typical tourist things around San Francisco My family and I loved it! We were four adults (one couple, two singles) and the 2 bedroom apartment was plenty big enough with 2 beds and the sofabed Everything was clean and comfortable

We had a “city view” which faced Polk, but we could still see a bit of the bayWe also enjoyed the lounge areas outside with fire pits – although we couldn’t figure out how to start the fire pit on the second floorThe staff and service were great – everyone was friendly, we never once had to open the hotel’s main door, and we had someone check-in with us every day via text messageThere were only three cons IMO:1 We got lost when first checking in! The main entrance is on North Point/Polk You cannot access the lobby from Ghirardelli Square until you’ve checked in2 I wish the hotel room had some snacks For only two nights, we had a fridge/stove/oven, but no food! If we were staying for longer, we definitely would have grocery shopped3 During our second night (Sunday night), there was some street noise that was very loud and woke us up I think it was trash trucks In general the room had good noise insulation, but for some reason these trucks were LOUD!

I stayed here for one night, in one of the Queen rooms with the view of the bay/bridge If you can afford that I recommend itThe room was good, pretty updated

The bathroom was nice, modernThe service was professional and welcoming, politeThe location felt very safe, compared to other places in the cityWalkable to Fisherman’s Wharf area (20-30 min walk) The Ferry building is like a 2 minute walk – quick snack, ice cream, food, coffee, some small shops, etcIf I return to SF this hotel will be near the top of my list

Had the most pleasant stay in sf at the harbor hotel Got a room with a bay view for a great price (compared to most hotels in the area) I called in advance to add champagne to my room and requested to have a note written as a surprise for my partner which they accommodated! They even added in some little snacks and chocolates

Room was super quaint- very nicely decorated! Felt more like a bedroom than a hotel Bathrooms very updated and modern Loved the halo light mirror The hotel had valet which was convenient We had dinner at Ozumo next door which the hotel website had advertised for – it was superb And the fact that it’s next door adds to the ease of convenience especially in such a busy area Lobby was also very nicely decorated and inviting They have bikes available for guests to use too! Loved the hotel would 10/10 recommend

Neighborhood Home Buyers

We loved it here! When we arrived they helped with our luggage and Devin and Jevon were so nice, accommodating and very helpful They gave us great tips on places to visit while our stay in SF All the staff was very nice and helpful

The rooms were nice, clean and had a comfortable bed They have complimentary coffee, tea and donuts in the morning There’s bikes you can take for a stroll at no charge and free wine tasting from 5pm-6pm The hotel was super cute with beautiful views from our room over the bay We’ll be staying here from now on when visiting SF Loved everything about this hotel!

At $800 a night, I was hoping for something spectacular Unfortunately, The Battery was mediocre The rooms are beautiful and spacious

But was very disappointed that we weren’t greeted at the entrance and offered to take our bags on the way in nor on the way out We weren’t told anything about what was what and what was available to us In the rooms there are plugs that were on the forefront of technology in the 90’s Not that we were there to watch TV but the television was not a smart television as one would expect for that price No movies or series to catch up on And the towels were old and rough There were delicious chocolate chip cookies though

Even though at this place also I went there to to drop a customer , I got a chance to be invited inside, I’ve been in that place so many times to drop a client but I never thought that is so magnificentyou have to be a member for most of the accommodation but if you have some even that you want to host that is the place Before I thought it is was a small bar but I have a chance to go inside a week ago the only explanation that I have for this place is”A cruise ship parked in the middle of the most beautiful city on earth

It’s a nice and solid motor lodge, not to be confused to a hotel It is also better than a motel too This place is clean and a safe place to stay

Parking is onsite Good restaurants within walking distance This place does not “nickel and dime” you to death like hotels further inside the city If you are on a budget and need a place to stay overnight or two, this place is it Overall, it is a great place stay and I recommend it to everyone

Amanda Stein

We stayed here for one night passing through San Francisco Free secure parking is provided, however it can be limited in the overnight hours If possible I’d recommend getting back to your room earlier to secure your parking spot! The place is noted to be older, but it’s well kept and clean! If you’re looking for view of the city, it most definitely isn’t guaranteed here as you may have a view of siding of another building

We didn’t mind as we were out exploring most of the day anywayWe would recommend staying here again if you need a clean comfortable place to rest overnight!

Ted Moret

Clean, perfect location, amazing and kind staff, nice safe parking garage, and priced fair We were able to walk everywhere and not move our car We made a huge mistake in our booking dates and the manager went over and beyond to correct it for us; he showed the utmost kindness

First time in San Francisco for this Florida family; we loved the city and especially Coventry Inn April 23-25 2022

Very nice hotel Very friendly and helpful staff Very clean room

We had a double queen room which was very adequate although a bit small in space Very little drawer space but has a closet Bathroom clean and of good size Weak pressure in the shower but that’s probably due to water savingAll in all we would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends

The property and location are nice However, it clearly states on hotelscom they have a fitness center on site

They do not Then they charge you a mandatory 3400 for use of a “local fitness club” which is actually the generic fitness room of another hotel they own over half a mile away The key they gave me didn’t work to get into the center and it’s not a club or what they describe They also say “fitness classes and yoga” on the listing but they do not have that, neither does the other hotel they send you to As a Silver Hotelscom member they state a bottle of wine per stay is free I asked, they said it should be in my room but it wasn’t so I asked again and they said housekeeping would bring me one and they never did They have no bellman and the person at the front door just hits the handicapped button to open it instead of actually holding the door for you I stay at a lot of similarly priced hotels (it was 340 for one night) and the service and amenities here are not up to par Especially with what is around, even next door there is a Hyatt with everything that Zoe describes and more Seems like they really want extra money and lots of up charges in your room, more so than usual Everything is for sale Lastly, the TV was just installed and randomly switches to the Home Screen over and over no matter which channel you’re watching Close to the tourist area is the main perk, but there are better so keep looking

Stay here is always excellent! Close walking distance to a lot of things Very clean hotel fabulous staff and the valet guys are great!! We have stayed here 4 times As far as we are concerned it’s the only place to stay for us when visiting SF

The last two times we have visited they were doing touch up paint around the hotel, they like to keep everything looking top notch Staff is very helpful and the restaurant next door is a good place to eat Would recommend to anyone!!
