My stay at this hotel was amazing! The breakfast cook Tonya was very kind and the spread was hot with options She was also part of social which they served a well put together dinner I was shocked to even be served a dinner at a hotel

My room was clean and well designed Housekeeping the next day was helpful enough to even give me fresh towels when they seen me Amber the front desk was nice and answered all questions during check in Later when we needed an extra blanket she was very helpful The pool and hot tub were both open and the area was very clean Upon check out Ashley the GM made sure to ask if we enjoyed our stay, which we did She and Amber were very helpful in breakfast suggestions as well I highly recommend staying here The new management from our previous stays has changed a lot of things for the better All of the staff seem happy and you can tell they are like a huge family

Andrea

Very clean hotel with a very friendly staff Liberty was very helpful and there to greet us at the front desk for a late check in Praise to the cleaning crew, the room was immaculate, spotless and cleaned thoroughly

This is definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at Incredibly clean, and the in house bar was great and very reasonably priced! The pool and hot tub were both really nice, the pool especially as the colored lights were a great touch The area around the pool is stocked with games- pool, ping pong, claw machines, air hockey, and more

Highly recommend

What a beautiful B and B This place is so clean and well kept The Inn keeper was so kind and helpful

Breakfast was wonderful We stayed in executive room It was comfortable and clean Not a fan of the art, it was a bit campy The two glamorous pics need to go and perhaps add photos of something more time and name appropriate!

Callie H

My husband and I visited for our anniversary and it was amazing!Cozy rooms- easy access to everything in Grand Hazen, it is all a walk or a bike ride awayShelly was amazing! Prepared wonderful breakfasts and always greeted us with a smile!

Joe Costantino

Right in the heart of Grand Haven, MI is this historic gem The house is 150 years old but the restorative work that has been done to it is exceptional! Our room was magnificent, comfortable bed, vintage style bathroom, gas fireplace, as well as thermostat heatShelly is a great hostess and cook

The breakfasts were wonderful We enjoyed two of them The first was a Creme Brulee French toast was exquisite with the perfect blend of textures and creme brulee flavor The fresh honeydew was perfectly ripe The second was a crustless quiche with green Chile It was a concept that worked well, especially with the sharp cheddar cheese that it was made with I have seen a different review stating that the food is not creative I disagree with that assessmentOur stay only got better when we met the deer that casually visit the property when we arrived back to the house our first night thereWe would definitely venture to this charming b & b again

I checked into what was called the Executive Suite with a Jacuzzi tonight The room was disgusting The night stand/tables CLEARLY had not been touched

There was a sticky substance with hair The tv had splatters all over it which had dried The refrigerator had a nasty film where something had spilled and was not cleaned The hot tub had hair in it Even though I reported the condition of the room when I arrived, nothing was done I tried to make the best of it but end up leaving If I can’t trust the furnishings to be clean, you think I’m sleeping in the bed??? The front desk lady called the manager because I asked for a refund She said JOANN said for the front desk person to go clean the room UNACCEPTABLE! This room was $175 and I deserved a better room than this I was denied a refund even AFTER the front desk clerk went and verified my complaints Not a happy customer and will probably not return again

Annette Etchison

This was a very nice Best Western It appears to have been recently renovated and was done tastefully It was clean and the bed was comfortable

I’m not really a fan of the functionality of the barn door bathroom door, as it doesn’t actually completely close, though it sure looked nice I just think a bathroom door should completely close while in use

Tracy Hue

We only stayed one night and fit for that need However the first front desk person could not get an extra blanket because she didn’t know where they were, but the second one knew We did not check out the breakfast because we had to leave for competition

Also, the shower leaked and the bathroom door is a barn door slider that doesn’t lock Overall not a bad stayJust an FYI the large castle looking building in the picture is not the actual hotel It’s an apartment building The hotel is smaller

This place is great! Super convenient to downtown Holland and local parks The staff is super friendly and welcoming If you are a Hilton Honors Member, you’ll be greeted and provided a welcome bag and letter

something that seems to have been lost at other properties This was also the first hotel to offer me a room upgrade as a Diamond Member in over 2 yearsand the King Balcony Suite was awesome! Additionally, the $15 credit for each guest can be used at happy hour or breakfast in the morningSpeaking of happy hour, $4-7 for hand crafted cocktails and tall craft beersa great deal whether you are a guest or not Great deals on brick oven pizzas and appetizers too!We used this as an overnight Staycation from Grand Rapids, we will definitely be back!!!

Liyra Lawless

Location and staff were great, spent some time talking with Ray at the front desk, he and the rest of the staff seem to truly enjoy their jobs and take pride in their workThe only complaints I have would be with the building itself Minimal carpeting causes problems with echos through the halls and make the walls seem pretty thin

Our room had a sliding door for the bathroom that was only mounted at the top causing the bottom of the door to sit away from the door frame at the bottom as well as the track end not aligning with the door frame causing a crack of about an inch and a half of space where one could see into the bathroomIt was a lovely time and we enjoyed our stay, but there are a few improvements to the building itself that would make for a much better experience

JT Kirk

This hotel gets 3 stars simply because of the great location and the clean roomThe negatives:- lights in the room aren’t controlled by the light switches nearest them- the shower is very poorly designed- no mini fridge- no microwave- bed mattresses are thin- poor value for money

Great hotel and staff This location is within walking distance of everything downtown GR The free filtered water is something I have never seen in a hotel, which was greatly appreciated

The rooftop bar is super nice, but you must make a reservation since it is so popular Overall a great value for the level of comfort Beds are decent, but I have a Tempurpedic bed so nothing ever compares

Amber Lee

The room and the view were absolutely gorgeous The food was phenomenal from the Knoop to the breakfast crew, honestly, the entire staff was warm and welcoming, they all seemed to love their job! Walking to the downtown market and hanging out in the studio Park was convenient not having to leave the hotel was the best part

I really enjoyed the movie theater as well I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture! Hands down, we will be back!

Robbi Montgomery

Our first time staying here It was very nice, located by everything you need and very quite even being right next to the highway Very friendly afternoon and evening staff, they helped out with everything we needed

The breakfast had lots of selections for everyone The only complaint was that the pool was very cold but the hot tube was warm and great The price of the room was good too and we’d definitely stay agaain

Eliza Bast

The location is great, the pool is awesome for a family stay-cation Clean and well maintainedThe bonus of this hotel was the incredible staff

Jennifer at the front desk and Mario as part of the housekeeping staff, went above and beyond in their customer service With so many demands on teams and so many places short staffed, having a staff that is customer oriented and that go above and beyond really just make you feel wanted and appreciated as a customer Our whole family commented on how great they were THANK YOU!

Ashley Kreger

Love this hotel when I stay in town for the week I always stay here The staff is is super friendly and the rooms are nice and clean and updatedThey have morning breakfast and all the doors from the out side lock at a certain hour so you have to have your key card to get in and out of the building even the main entrance so that makes me feel super safe ! Nice hotel, right by the river and only 15 minutes walk from the downtown area Parking was easy, the lobby was stylish and neatly arranged The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating

Our room was clean, smelled fresh, and had enough amenities The pull-out sofa bed was large and comfortable Being on the third floor, the balcony in the room faced a concrete alleyway and side of the building, so we didn’t use it Breakfast was complimentary and there were variety of breakfast items, including one of the best hotel coffees I have ever consumed The breakfast and dining area staff were prompt and courteous with their service Checking in and checking out was seamless with the Hilton Honors App

OG Webb

This hotel was amazing Embassy Suites must be doing something right From the front desk to the breakfast, the workers were so nice and helpful

The guys making omelets we’re great and the manager was very personable The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and the pool was fun We ordered food from the restaurant and that was also delicious Great location and parking was so convenient We will definitely be back!

Tim Schott

This Embassy Suite location has some of the nicest hotel rooms I’ve had the pleasure of staying in They recently went pet friendly and that was a pleasant surprise for us! The lounge overlooks the Grand River which provides an excellent local back drop The drinks and snacks were very good and reasonably priced

The pool is good but the hot tub got over-run with kids during the afternoon One down side – for the moment – is the distance to most of the other nightlife in downtown This will likely change in the future given the plans for further development at that end of town Long & short – we will be back to stay there again

This will be the third week that we have stayed at this hotel and it has been one of the most pleasant stays The staff are always so friendly and helpful The breakfast far exceeded our expectations, although they do run out quite quickly on the weekends

😉 The rooms and hallways are always clean and smell fresh (previous hotels we’ve stayed at have reeked of weed and cigarette smoke) The rooms are quite and the location is excellent Easy access to expressway and many restaurant options are very close/in walkable distance We will forever be customers! Thank you for making this place feel like our second home

Corrin Davis Leverton

We stayed in the queen studio suite and it was a very comfortable room to stay in! Our towels were so plush and fresh We thought the ability to swivel the TV was a nice touch to the room layout! The full sized fridge and well stocked kitchen supplies were also very helpful Check in was easy and quick! Our room was right next to the stairs and it was loud at times, it sounded like guests were running and dragging items through the stairwell

At one point in the late evening it sounded like guests were having an argument and shouting at each other in the room above – better soundproofing or a reminder to guests to not disturb their neighbors could have been nice

Vijay V

We stayed in room 314 the past weekend I highly appreciate having a pack and play (that we requested) before we got inBut, I was highly disappointed when I pulled out the sofa bed at night

The sheets were not changed from the previous guest and was filthy I couldn’t even open fully and closed it immediately I had a guest sleep on the floor for the nightI travel often for living, while traveling with family, this is completely unacceptable I expected higher standards from Marriot especially during COVID

I recently stayed at this hotel and am discouraged that after two calls for management that I have not received a call backCons:1)

I told the front desk I was looking for local things to do and she did not suggest the Trolley that went hourly from the hotel I was SO disappointed to find this out two hours from my departure2) I paid extra for the balcony room but was unable to use it due to it being overtaken by spiders We actually had some spiders in our room from my trying to use the balcony3) I had no washcloths in the bathroom for my shower and had to call down for some to be brought up I was told they should of been in there4) The refrigerator wasn’t up to temp and I lost all the food in itPros:I liked the location and the restaurant downstairs! Paris is a wonderful waitress and I appreciated her great jobHad I got a return call from a manager this review could of went completely different

Kate at the front desk was amazing & turned our stay aroundAccidentally booked room with a 3rd party & didn’t get correct room or view as promised When I spoke to the front desk the first night I was told nothing could be done

Was so disappointed as it was a yearly girls getawayAfter talking to Kate on the second morning she rectified the situation & put us in an awesome room with a balcony and view that was originally promisedI am so grateful to her for understanding what happened & want to commend her on her amazing customer serviceShe is awesome !Also, our bartender at the outside bar was great Wish I remembered her name She was so friendly & helpfulThank you to both of these wonderful ladies !Ended up having a great timeBeautiful, spacious outdoor area to enjoy drinks & the viewWould reccomend but make sure & call hotel directly to book

Weird layout to the rooms We liked the sitting area but not impressed that there isn’t a sink outside the bathroom Plumbing is INSANELY LOUD! Woke up this morning to what literally sounded like a person repeatedly smashing on our wall with a large hammer

It was from the pipes due to the people upstairs taking a shower Crazy insane loud! NOT a good way to start your day Toilet doesn’t flush properly, we need to take the lid off the tank and mess with the plunger Lock on bathroom door doesn’t work Pool area is VERY small The place is quite clean though and a very well stocked hot breakfast (coffee was very good too) Staff was very friendly and helpful

NehNette Swanson

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel!!! From the moment we walked in, when we received a fabulous welcome from the desk attendant, to the time we left, with more kind words from ANOTHER desk attendant, we were so pleased with this hotel The room was beautiful, clean, nicely appointed, and comfortable I noticed others comment on noise–that was not our experience even though the hotel was fairly full with lots of children running around

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was tasty and nicely laid out, and the lounging area was great Our only disappointment was the rain that started to fall just as we walked out to enjoy the outdoor firepit Not their fault! LOL! A great stay at a nice hotel with terrific staff Two thumbs-up!!!

Veronica Phoenix

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful However, we asked for a quiet room away from the highway, which we did get, but they put us directly above the firepit area which was supposed to close at 10 or 11pm There was a sports team out at the firepit ALL night

We called the front desk multiple times starting at 12am to no avail It was 6/7am before the party broke up – loud music, loud talking We paid to get sleep and got no sleep

Everything about this hotel was really good The rooms have lots of USB chargers and the kitchens were really modern The only downside is we stayed on a Saturday night

The traffic noise outside was extremely loud until about 2:30am The hotel knows this so they offer complimentary fans, white noise machines and earplugs The location is awesome for walking around Would definitely try it again, maybe just mid week!

Heather (Dirty Paws Bus)

I’m a Grand Rapids-ish native but am now living in northern Michigan I visited GR

for the recent Ghost/Volbeat/Twin Temple concert and didn’t want to bother with driving far/dealing with parking The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect as we were so close to the arena that we could see it from our room The room was very clean, spacious and modern and parking was very convenient We were very impressed! The staff was super nice and helpful We will definitely be back! Thank you for a great stay!

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars all around

Here are the reasons why I didn’t First, the hotel is in a perfect location You don’t get the river view, but otherwise you are central to everything downtown The rooms are quiet, except from outside noise (from the windows), you definitely have city sounds that creep into the living space all night long But if you have a 1 room suite, shut the bedroom door and you get total silence But my major dissatisfaction came from 1) the website said there was evening drinks/appetizers offered Sun-Thur but when we checked in were told it was only light appetizers on Wed evening Second, breakfast kind of sucked They were out of one or more items each morning (No cream for coffee, no potatoes to go with the eggs, no fresh fruit, it really changed daily) They kept saying they were waiting on a truck, but I really think they just were not ordering correctly as this was the fourth Hilton property we’ve stayed in over the last two weeks and no other property had this issue, including the one I’m at now writing this reviewI do want to give a special shout-out to Prentice He was extremely helpful and friendly If anyone deserves a raise, it’s that guy for sure Thanks for making our stay better

c “!1:1!” edrington

Big comfort rooms, mini kitchen, tableware on shelfGreat breakfast in the morningStaff at desk friendly and courtious

Awesome location in a historic building in Grand Rapids Close to everything that can walk just about anywhere in the city which is great The staff was okay as had to see front desk people three times to get a key to work for the in and out for garage

The garage is a little pricey compared to rest of garages in area, but hotel does provide in and out access which is nice Room was perfect for my wife and I with our toddler as he had a bed in the living room area and we had our private bedroom We could cook which was nice, but biggest positive was having a full size fridge after visiting the Fulton Street Farmers Market and the Holland Farmers Market Would stay here again if had kid with us just for the space of the rooms

Beautiful, clean rooms Bathrooms had a barn style door that couldn’t lock, so the kids thought that was a little weird Nice clean kitchenette

Big mini fridge Pool was a good temp, could have been about 10 degrees warmer and it would have been perfect But as soon as you start swimming you warm right up Lots of restaurants nearbyWill definitely book another stay

We took our yearly summer trip to Michigan and decided to do a hotel instead of a rental and we are so happy that we did! The hotel was modern and clean, breakfast options were perfect for our family (even for myself who has celiac disease), and the entire staff is wonderful Customer Service is stellar and we would absolutely stay here again!!

1 It’s not really a Suite Slightly larger room with a curtain to separate out the sleeping couch

2 Poorly designed sliding doors Careful with kids My daughter got her finger caught -super painful3 Front desk oft was nice Came and fixed the door (temporarily)4 Overall overpriced as a suite …not with the extra money
