The room was clean and the mattress was great You have a full kitchen, with burners, pans, plates, and silverware Much nicer than what I expected

The place is older, and the walls could have used a coat of paint, but everything was good – it felt like you were staying is a guest house Service was friendly, and there is a happy hour and hot/cold breakfast Great value and friendly people

Morgan Henske

We were very happy with our stay The room was spotless, the public spaces are beautiful and clean, and the staff is very friendly As others have said, this is an older location but I’ve never seen an older place so well taken care of

We can tell it’s older not by aging but by it’s quality and type of systems The AC/heat broiler system cools very well even during this historical June heatwave You have control over the fan speed and have an off option Even during the heatwave we never used the high setting There are also ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room areas The breakfast had good, healthy options including make your own waffles, different bread and bagel options, boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit, cereal, milk, orange and cranberry juice, and of course good coffee Overall, I’d highly recommend giving this place a shot It feels like you’ve been transported some place other than College Station and it gives you a cozy home feeling Extended stay options available

This was the first time I brought my dog to stay at a hotel, so I was extremely consciousThe staff were so friendly and kind, they put me in the George Bush two bed room suite, which was great The suite is the corner room so even if my dog barked while I was away he wouldn’t bother other guests

I was very pleased that they trusted their guests to leave their dog unattended, this is the main reason why I got a hotel instead of staying at friends’ houseI had my camera hooked up and thankfully my dog didn’t bark and slept for most of the 6-7 hours that I was gone I turned on the TV in the corner bedroom and the TV in the living room, he slept like a baby until I returned I highly recommend people traveling with dogs to stay here! And great policy, I appreciate it!Oh and the free breakfast and wine happy hour was a bonus!

Rooms are outdated and the AC unit doesn’t stay cold There is no microwave in the rooms The bar area was nice and the food was reasonably priced

Customer service throughout the hotel has been great The pool area is nice too The gym is very small, but you can get a decent a workout in with the free weights Overall I had a good time, but the rooms and gym don’t live up to a 4 star rating

Issues:Carpet was sticky in my room Phone did not work It finally did but only on speaker, headset would not connect to base

Room was ok but not very big for a King roomThings I did like:I did really like the managers reception and free drinks I did eat at the restaurant and my rib eye was very goodStaff was friendly and courteous I stay here every quarter and will continue to do so

Bejoy Joseph

Should have sorted the reviews to recent before booking this place One of the worst hotel experiences Rooms with dust and hair accumulated at corners, non-manageable air-conditioning (will not cool till late night with temp set to 61F) Refrigerator working/ not working is a guess work

Comforters sending out strands in air Well not again here Maybe the property is old and need renovation The breakfast was reasonable but same everyday Surprisingly still have a good rating still, how come? May have been better earlier

It’s a solid Residence Inn with everything you’d expect

clean rooms and public areas, nicely appointed spaces, friendly and accommodating staff, etc The suite we were given (on points) was weirdly located in an inside corner of the hotel Instead of 2 windows out into the sunlight, there was one that faced into the hotel wall LOL The price was right, but it’s strange they put us there with so many open rooms availableThe room was a little dark The fixtures have fluorescent bulbs Some of the fixtures poorly lit areas of the room It really needs upgrading to LED lightingThe public areas were clean and the breakfast was standard fare, plentiful, and fresh The hotel is located close to dining, shopping, and of course Texas A&M campus GO AGGIES!

Jason Kaplan

Very very disappointing and upset Checked in, in the evening and room was not very cool but cool enough and cooling a little Tried to take a shower but had to wait 20 mins for hot water

At 100a woke up sweating because room was now 80 degrees Swapped rooms to a smaller room with working AC Called at 10:45a for late check out As Titanium we are guaranteed a 4p checkout They told me 1p was all they could do Then called me back 30 mins later and advised I had been checked out already and was not allowed back to my room Marriott has continuously gone down hill and this is just another sign they don’t care about their customers loyalty

Kim Gonzales (Kimmie)

Nice, clean and large rooms I was disappointed there was not a hair dryer in the room, no USB ports, and the TV worked intermittently They sent a tech to fix it but it still didn’t work

The shower was amazing The water was nice and hot Great water pressure Wgen we checked in the staff was amazing When we’re checked out the staff was a bit rude but did answer our questions Over all nice hotel

My family stayed here for two nights for a mini staycation for spring break The only problem we encountered was the main pool heater being broken My kids still swam in it! The staff was aware of them problem and was working on getting it fixed before I said anything about it

Everything else about the stay was absolutely amazing They have a free hot breakfast, the rooms are large, clean, comfy and quiet They are located close enough to walk to several restaurants The main thing that I really want to emphasize is the staff It seemed like they actually had a lot more staff there than I usually see daily at any hotel, and *every single one of them* greeted me and asked if there was anything they could get me! It was like they had a manager or secret shopper they were expecting and they were all on their toes But it seemed genuine and natural, like they really hoped I was enjoying my stay I’ve never felt as welcome at a hotel as I did at Hyatt Place The hotel was a lot busier that I’ve seen it at previous stays, but I was only aware of that during breakfast and at the pool So many guests were taking advantage of the amenities, but there was always plenty to go around

ckc75

Stayed for 3 nights & it was a clean, well maintained hotel with friendly staffPROS:- Large, spacious room (King bed with a partly petitioned wall with a large sofa that can be converted to a sofa bed)- Basic amenities inside the room: Microwave oven, coffee machine & small bar fridge- Good breakfast options with different menus each day- Clean, well maintained facilitiesCONS:- It might be a personal taste, but I did not like the bathroom sink to be in an open area as part of the room- Again, this might be a personal preference, but the bathroom was just a standing shower Would have preferred a bath tub- Lack of storage space in a spacious room

Only had 2 drawers within the bath sink & small closet Would have liked to see an actual drawer chest- The coffee was being served only during breakfast hours Would have been nice if they left the coffee pots out for a longer time

I understand the other factors, such as service and location, when averaged with “room” would be higher than a 2 starsHowever, the ROOM in which one stays is THE most important factor in a hotel stayFrankly, the rooms were inadequate

I found it to be dingy, and the bathroom deplorable, reminiscent of a bathroom in a cheap east Texas homeIn fact, upon entry, I was greeted with a hilariously broken toilet seat – hanging on for dear life by one postI wondered how often the bathroom was cleaned and this was not reported to be fixedThe tiles were cracked on the floor, and the shower tub was also dingyI loved having to stuff a towel against the door because there was a giant crack under which would otherwise allow light and noise to enterThe air-conditioner would sometimes wheeze on with a faint moldy smellThis hotel is best for college kids or conference managers who wish to pinch pennies

It has a very good bar located just next to the front lobby The rooms are small and rustic with a modern update to a classic early 90’s room design The rooms have vintage windows which are not double paned, which means they don’t insulate your room very well

I would recommend closing the thick inner curtains and turning on the heater Our bathroom had a small single person shower, so romantic showers are out of the question Overall it is a nice hotel located in the middle of downtown and surrounded by restaurants and bars A great place to stay while you enjoy the bryan local destinations on a Friday night Perfect for a little get away at the end of a hectic week I will be back for sure

George Wilhite

Nice renovated 1928 hotel Room was nice and comfortable Great restaurant and bar downstairs but no Bloody Mary’s! Cigar room across the street on one side

Antique shops across the the street on the other side (great stuff there, too!) Crab cakes were great at the restaurant Biggest disappointment was previous reviews said Sunday brunch that we were planning on, but they did not have it And the menu for it had looked SO good! That and not having Bloody Marys!Mary’s! Did not get to the speakeasy in basement (our fault, not theirs) Will definitely go back

David Smith-Barry

The winery tour (tasting class, tour of the vineyards, processing, and storage, and a walk of the grounds) was amazing! We stayed for the B&B too The restaurant was delicious, the room was cozy and beautiful, and the other patrons were fun to engage with as we passed them on our nightly walk I loved the Ivory Ports of Call, but no longer made

Before they stopped producing it though, the staff created a label and put it on a bottle of that deliciousness that read, “Sarah, will you marry me?” I proposed a few months later with that bottle And yes, we are married now!

Christine Frey

We were absolutely blown away by how gorgeous and relaxing a place to stay this was!! We stayed in the Marie Antoinette room (highly highly recommend – it has a large bathtub and a beautiful balcony view of the trees and of some of the fountain, and it is on the top story) We absolutely loved our room, the amazing wine tour, the wine tasting, and the delicious coffee and breakfast each morning (all are included in the stay!) Thank you Messina Hof for helping us to recharge our batteries!!!

Treivor and Lisa Cashion

My husband and I stayed here our wedding night and were showered with lovely service Our room key was easy to pick up, the whole villa was very peaceful and quiet The breakfast was outstanding and included mimosas and sunrises (cranberry and champagne)

Jean, the keeper, was very helpful and even offered us a later check out since no one was checking in after us The free tour and cheese and wine tasting is a really nice touch too! Will definitely go back for our anniversary O:)

Great experience with the awesome tour guide Emma! She knows her stuff This is a great activity to do with your significant other or best friends or a groupThe wine education is foundational and the history lesson of the place was interesting

Would likely go again during the harvest time to see the grapes Would also enjoy the entire experience by staying at the bed and breakfast Definitely a must see and do if you’re in the area

Kirsten Gordon

This was my first wine tour and tasting ever, and what an amazing first experience! It was amazing learning about the history of Messina Hof, and then tasting some of the wines that I hadn’t yet tried with more insight and tips was great! Charlotte was the BEST Super friendly and knowledgeable! I couldn’t believe she could share so much in depth info without stumbling over her words or forgetting things Nathan was also shadowing on our tour and was very knowledgeable about the wine’s intricacies

Rain Pugh

Emma lead our tour and tasting at the winery She was very knowledgeable, personable and charming Stayed in the Camelot room at the villa

My least favorite Courtyard—it’s old and it shows The room itself appeared clean, but the bathroom fixtures were covered with hard water stains and the carpet in front of the bathroom was wet (maybe from mopping? Still gross) Front desk was very pleasant, but another employee I passed in the lobby was dismissive and not representative of the typical friendliness I expect from Marriott hotels

This morning, my son and husband went to the lobby and without realizing the Continental breakfast wasn’t complementary, grabbed a plate The girl at the front was VERY rude and condescending As the face of a hotel chain, she’s not doing the company any favors Yes, he should have checked, but being the morning and no signage, the situation could have been handled better I absolutely would not stay in this hotel again—there’s a reason that the weekend of a soccer tournament Holiday Inn Express is booked and not the nearby Courtyard

Get Up Radio Media

Nice hotel owned by the Marriott brand Has small refrigerator and microwave in room Also has outside balcony as well

The Front Desk agent, Joel Garner, was above and beyond in his customer service I needed AAA batteries and he took his time to offer me some since none were sold in the market place Thank you for making me feel welcomed

LaTayna Jessie

I used their ballroom for my reception In the beginning i was so excited with the first two ladies that I initialy made contact with Then came number three contact

she was a nightmare and I frantic and having second thoughts about using the place But the nightmare went away and they made sure everything was on point and taken care of correctly and they did it with such sincere hearts The rooms were nice and clean I thank them for their hospitality and how they went out of their way to make sure we were good

If you have a service animal and you stay here beware of an extra $250 charge for your stay We called prior to our stay and was assured service animals were accepted After the stay they demanded proof of registration and date of when service animal was registered which is so totally wrong

Never before have had this problem at any other establishment

I had another wonderful experience at The Cavalry Hotel! Their staff is professional and very kind! Their rooms are clean and so cute! Fully stocked with your favorite beverages and snacks! Their restaurant is AMAZING! I have enjoyed live music every night I’ve stayed at the hotel Their service and tasty drinks make every single experience, a special one! I definitely recommend this hotel!Their best asset by far is their employee, Makena She’s so sweet! She’s helpful and professional

Definitely love to see a friendly face when going out of town!! Looking forward to my next stay!

The Calvary court is a wonderful place to stay in CSTX! We love the relaxed vibe in the hotels layout Fire pits Outdoor seating

Lawn games They also have on-site a fun bar/ restaurant and live music on occasion The rooms are spacious, fully equipped and the beds are so comfy! Stay here and you’ll be happy during your visit to college station

Lori Rivero

Our stay was quite the impression from the moment we walked into the front desk area We were greeted with two Lonestar beers which we gladly accepted Then the front desk clerk showed us our room on a map and from through the windows

I asked for rocking chairs and she made sure they were there When we got to our room we were again taken aback by the decor I’m a designer and this place was on point! It had a sitting area and two double beds We were given a free upgrade due to being loyalty members The barn wood door and black and white accent tiles were a plus There was also a vintage refrigerator stocked with liquor and beer and being loyalty members we were given a $10 credit for use in it $5-7 per beer and $6-9 per liquor bottle There’s also a snack box filled with goodies if you choose to buy some There’s an outdoor area to hang out and the layout was easy enough to get around and within walking distance of Sweet Paris which we chose for breakfast The only flaw I could see in this 4 star hotel was they didn’t provide breakfast which even 3 star hotels do If they added that we would stay more often!

Last time I stayed at this property it was a solid 4 stars The only issue I had was that the pool was closed early because of some rowdy kids, but we didn’t really have time to swim anyway, so it wasn’t too big of a deal We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and genuinely looked forward to our next stay

The reason for my 1 star review at this time is that I was turned away from the hotel for being a local resident I was so shocked by this (since we had stayed before) that we asked to speak with a manager The general manager was not at the hotel (Sunday) and did not answer when the front desk agent called Not only is this a lousy policy, the customer service dealing with the problem was not adequate I had prepaid the room online and had to call the third party to call the hotel to get a refund Then I had to start over and make a new reservation at a different hotel I won’t mention the drama caused by my 3 children who were looking forward to their vacation We got to a decent hotel and checked in no problem The children have recovered and will never stay here again But that is what Wyndham wants, so I guess everyone is happy now

I’m so happy I found this hotel!! My husband and I stayed here for 15 nights (Yes, that much) and let me tell you I’m looking forward to my next business trip to stay here again Rooms were spacious, very clean, and with a comfy bed

Breakfast was delicious, forget about waffles and cereal like others hotels do This breakfast was pretty yummy, like a buffet type And they change what they offer, is not always the same On Thursdays they offer a delicious dinner (fajitas and loaded potatoes) awesome😋So grateful with kitchen staff (Maria and Manuel) were so nice to us, always caring about everything They made us feel like home Always with a smile in their faces Very kind persons Also excellent service from the bartender, super kind tooI’m not the kind of person that writes reviews, but this hotel totally worth itThank you!!

We stayed here for a wedding after Thanksgiving with our young children and had the best stay! The room was very clean and spacious! The door between the couch pull out room and the main bedroom was so nice The kitchenette was also a nice surprise! I liked having a sink as well as microwave and mini fridge Isaac was very attentive and helpful! The hotel was decorated for Christmas and we took cousin pics by the fireplace- the weekend continental breakfast was wonderful as well! We didn’t have a single complaint! I would happily stay here again!

We stayed at the hotel at the end of March This week, a month later, we were charged an absurd amount of money When I called to find out why, they said we damaged the room

They said housekeeping discovered it That could not be further from the truth The room was just fine when we left I guess it took them a month to clean the room I asked why they did not contact me about the damage They couldn’t answer I asked for pics They sent me 2 pics of a loose tub faucet and a hole in a wall I told them we did not do that Violet, the GM was incredibly rude She said the charges will stand I contacted Hilton cooperation They said they would contact them I guess we will have to get an attorney involved If you stay here, take pics of your room All of it Hopefully you read this and stay somewhere else I thought with 2 kids going to college there we would stay there a lot We will never stay at this or any other Hilton Garden Inn

Service was great and so was the food and the beds were very comfortable however the issue I had was with the billing We had several issues since we’ve checked in, we had two different cards on the room they were accidentally swiped twice Management said they would refund us but we didn’t get the full refund

Then we started with the new card which was mine and that’s when the money just kept disappearing like crazy that they blatantly lied about the rates, then change their story every time I felt like we were taking advantage of money-wise, they promised my father a full refund on his card and still have it delivered their promise

Not a good experience I paid for two connecting rooms with breakfast and the to be ordered breakfast wasn’t available due to staff shortages The manager was mean and didn’t want to honor my extended checkout even though I am an honors reward member

She told me that was for diamond members only Mary at the front desk was mean and she called my room and said we need to checkout or get charged for another day She finally said she would honor the extended checkout for 1 pm that I received by another staff when I checked in Also housekeeping came into my room and when I went up to get my things at 12 pm the key card was deactivated

This hotel was the best Super clean no mold It did not smell like a dirty mop when you walked in

The staff was very friendly my sister had 4 kids and i have one They did not harass us with having kidswe had different rings we did not stay in the same room The room size was perfect We booked a 2 queen bed and it was just enough the standard room the bathroom was large The view was not that great from the room, But if you go to the pool area that view of kyle field was amazing The pool area was beautiful they offer towels and those that don’t, swim they have these cute chairs that sit in the water so you can wet your feet Also the hotel has beautiful places to take pictures in the hotel and parking was very convenient The security I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE you need a key card to get through the doors of the hall where your room is They have a floor for dogs, but i never heard dogs barking I seen them but never heard them Super safe place for families Outstanding location They also have quiet hours 10pm to 6am allowing people to get some rest room service was amazing when we asked for towels they came quick and this was Mother’s day weekend The university is absolutely beautiful Most important they do not treat you different because of your race Beautiful place i love it They don’t have bugs either Please book here worth the price

We gathered at the T Lounge to pay our last respects to a former co-worker Suitably elegant with great views of the surrounding area Information at the entrance to direct one and signs posted and a large capacity covered garage to service the Hotel

I would have tasted the mixed drinks but I had to work that night Fine overall impression of this facility in hosting this event for a friend

This place is so weird I just wanted a room for graduation for my family I have no doubt the rooms are nice but, why is it so scummy on bookingWhen you call, they do not give the website rate, it’s often higher as they don’t tell you about the private offer on the website

When you mention it, they largely ignore it because I think they must work on commissionIn addition, all their discounts like AAA don’t stack with the true rate of the room So they offer discounts but those discounts are not really discounts as the savings is not cheaper than the discounted (real) price of the roomIt’s just such a shame This is a university hotel Why do they need to be so shady one all the different prices for the room When your offering a discount for something like AAA or AARP, then you should get a discount

First off the description as a “casual hotel” is a bit off

Outward facing motel style rooms, not inward hallway limited access hotel rooms We inspected the room: floor is clean, tub is clean, bed is clean, single hair found on mattress pad Shoes found in the dresser (not cleaned) and the fridge has spoiled milk in the cavity which wreaked We’re here for a kids music concert event and we’ll survive I’m sure, but we won’t return

American Texas

Sketchy place

I was asked by the desk clerk who was Hispanic female She tried to ask me if I wanted to rent the room by the hour and she would meet me there I thought to myself what sort of establishment is this? This sounded like more she was trying to pocket the money I wouldn’t recommend this motel First, the management needs to straighten their employees Can’t imagine how this motel got this franchise Buyer Beware!

My boyfriend and I have been staying here while he works I am so happy with our stay so far! Everyone at the front desk is very helpful and answers any questions we have The house keeping staff is so friendly and gets us anything we need

I love that they communicate with us and the front desk to ask when we need housekeeping everyday! Everything is so clean, even better then the pictures Thank you so much to everyone that works here you all have made our stay so comfortable and convenient!! -Savannah and Cam

Where should I begin…1 The ice machines on two of the three floors were out of order2

The vending machines were either out of order or sold out of nearly everything, including water3 The phone in our room didn’t work so we had to call the front desk from our personal phones4 The mini fridge in our room didn’t work5 The Wi-Fi was basically unusable6 And to top it all off, there were children running and screaming up and down the hallways at all hours We had to call at one point to complain about them because they were so loud on the first floor we could hear them on the second Having to remind the front desk to enforce their “no running in the halls” signage should not be the job of the guestsThe room itself was otherwise clean and housekeeping was good But all in all I would not stay here again Half the amenities were broken, our of order, or out of stock, and the children running around made navigating the halls a hassle and getting anything amounting to sleep almost impossible

1 The lights in my room were motion activated, meaning if I didn’t keep moving, I was left in complete darkness This is unacceptable

I wanted to read before bed, but I kept ending up in complete darkness I finally had to turn on the light over the window, which was not motion activated, and this was not enough light to read by and too much light for sleeping I would not stay here again given this circumstance2 There is nothing in the shower on which to place soap, shampoo and other toiletries used in a shower I didn’t feel comfortable placing my soap on the floor of the shower and then using it on my body, so I had to rig the shower door to remain open, stack towels on the towel holder outside the shower and use that as a makeshift “soap dish” while I was showering How hard would it be to include some kind of small shelf or soap dish in the shower???? Items 1 and 2 are totally weird things to encounter in a motel Not something I’ve had to deal with before, and really made this experience feel very cheap3 There was a small child screaming and running around past 11pm in a room near me I really didn’t know what to do, call the front desk? Call the police? Go to the room myself to ask them to be quiet? Not really wanting to do any of these, I finally just turned on a rain soundtrack on my phone and turned it up really loud to try to drown out the noise I had class at 8AM the next morning, and I was very tired during my classI feel like a motel should be a place where one can comfortably read, sleep and shower before checking out I had to struggle to do any one of these things I actually had to rig my own solutions to problems that are typically addressed in the design and function of a motel I will not stay here again

KEN CULT

The room itself was very good- AC, coldAs plenty others have noted, the exercise room is not functional Throwing an out of order sign on something is not fixing the problem

I was told that only a suite was available for my stay (3 days) I didn’t require a suite Being that the hotel was almost empty when I checked in this seemed like an upsell For nearly 200/night I should at least get a working treadmill/ ice machine/ etcAlso expect talking and people out late into the night in the lot Maybe not their fault, but not a luxury experience

Hector Guillen

The girl at the front desk was nice But the room are not cleaned correctly! Stains on every wall, a dead cricket by the bed, and then when I came to the front to talk about all this the house keepers stated taking in Spanish about ” how is the room dirty we just cleaned”and went up to check like I would just lie for no reason Im form out of state and this hotel looked great online but was subpar to say the least!
