We needed a place to stay over the July 4th weekend in this general area and managed to book a spot here even though it was already the end of May at the time The campground is located in an area with a mix of businesses and residential neighborhoods When you turn on the road to the campground, the office is the first/immediate left, and there are 3 RV parking spaces to pull into while you check in at the office

You then return to the road and enter the campground via one of the next three lefts Most of the pull-throughs near the road are for short-term stays, so most likely you’ll make the left turn and then almost immediately turn right to enter your spotAll of the roads and the site pads are asphalt, and the rest of the site space is covered with large stone gravel Each site has a picnic table, but no fire ring or patio The hookups are in the usual spot, and our site at least (C2) was pretty level Our site was long enough to fit our 21-foot truck and 37-foot fifth wheel while hooked up, but once we were unhooked we could only park the truck in the front of the site at an angle with some tires on the gravel That only lasted a day: we got a call from the office saying that there were water lines running under the gravel and they asked us (nicely) to park the truck in one of the parking spaces next to the nearby clubhouse building, which was fine I noticed the long-term pull-through sites weren’t any longer, but they had separate parking spaces next to the pad in the backIn terms of amenities, there are restrooms and showers located in three buildings: the office, a bathhouse/laundry room building on the east end of the campground, and a bathhouse across from the row of full-time residents (which is probably mainly for them) The campground also has three enclosed dog parks, which were the only places within the park where you could walk the dogs (all of the small landscaped spaces were off-limits) We could have walked the dogs to a grassy area down the road, but we were always able to find an available dog park so it wasn’t an issue The clubhouse building also has a small exercise room with some free weights and at least one elliptical and one treadmill There are two dumpsters in the park and a recycling area for corrugated cardboard and redeemable recyclablesThe few long-term residents we talked to were all friendly, so this isn’t one of those campgrounds where the short-term campers are considered a necessary evilIn terms of cell service, the best speed I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna was 12Mbps down and 25 up, but the bandwidth would sometimes drop off in the mid-afternoon and early evening, so there were days when I had to switch to the AT&T hotspot on my phone and evenings when we couldn’t stream video The best speed I got on my AT&T smartphone was 79Mbps down and 18 up The campground does offer basic WiFi (1 up/1 down) for free for several days, and you can pay for higher bandwidth, but we didn’t try that as we ended up not needing itWe would stay here again if we were in the area and needed bandwidth for work (bandwidth can be hard to come by along the coast)

Initially I was pretty hopeful from seeing the outside that this place was nicer than the last motel 6 I stayed at When I walked in the lobby it was extremely clean and had a really welcoming atmosphere The receptionist asked us what we were doing/if we were traveling far and I told him our trip plans

He ended up upgrading us to one of their suite rooms because it is our honeymoon! That was super cool especially because we have been driving for the last 24hrs with less than 2 hours of sleep The receptions was super cool We got into our room and it was super duper clean It had a huge jetted tub and coffee pot It is actually really nice Super grateful for the receptionist doing that for us

Nicholas Christopher

A decent, cheap hotel, but nothing special – about what you’d expect from a Motel 6 The room was clean, though a bit dated The bathroom, on the other hand, felt above average at this price point

Our room had a microwave and mini fridge in it There were Ethernet ports in the room, which was surprising At night, the area was quiet and I slept wellOverall, it’s a decent place, but there are other nearby options you should look at too

Andrea Gonzalez

With no reservation, we walked up expecting to get just a room with a bed and TV, but the ladies helped us out They set us up with one of their suites and it was awesomeWe took advantage of the wonderful hot tub and guest laundry at the same time

I would stay here again in a minute It was close to food and a really interesting bar/ grill and pretty close to the boardwalk as well

Great location and a ton of rooms Layout is similar to a two story motel with each room having outside access Rooms were much larger than what we expected upon arrival

It looked like a Motel 6 but proved to much roomer Very clean and quiet, perhaps because it was at about 20% occupancy Pandemic related probably Staff was very friendly and helpful Would stay there again! It is located on US Highway 101 which does not go through the main part of Coos Bay We were on our way home so appreciated not having to take a side trip to find lodging Restaurants are easily accessed a few blocks further South Only one problem that we encountered and that was lack of access to AT&T cell service But that was not the facilities fault

Curtis Reesor

Premium prices, substandard property Staff was great, and room was clean But this property has seen better days

Outdated, worn furniture Loud mechanics, including a bathroom fan that sounded ready to die, and loud plumbing noise from other rooms that would wake a light sleeper No breakfast, or to-go alternative (sign claimed health rules, but Covid restrictions are well past) Swimming pool “closed for the season”, even though it is summer Plus the pool was stagnant and a health hazard The only curtains in the room were of the blackout type, so no ability to let natural light in without total lack of privacy This place is not a value for the money Sad for Coos Bay that Red Lion corporate will not invest in this property

Tareef Dedhar (tarfeef101)

Staff was friendly, bed was comfy, shower was excellent with great head pressureOne tiny bug in the room, but with an older building it’s hard to avoid thatTV not locked down so you can connect stuff if you bring HDMI :)Walls weren’t the thickest though, and despite being quite empty, they put me right beside other guests so the shared wall conducted more noise than it could’ve if they’d separated us

First impressions matter We arrived at 4:00 after driving all day and were told the room wasn’t ready and to come back in 30-60 min Not a good start

Then we asked for extra pillows and we’re told there were none Really, in the whole hotel, no extra pillows ? Anyway they did find us some pillows, so things were looking up The room was clean and the bed was comfy You have to walk outside to get to the breakfast room which Is fine if the weather cooperates Location is good It’s in a parking lot with a cinema , Dollar Tree and a quick walk to Safeway If you have lots of luggage ask for a room you can park in front of, because there are no luggage carts available

Auralie Jensen

The room was quite nice, which was a pleasant surprise! There’s a pretty courtyard with trees blooming all around Made me feel like I could’ve been in a different place! The breakfast is a standard continental with waffles, cereal and danishes, coffee, yogurt and OJThe only thing I didn’t like is the strong smell of mole in the main building

Too bad nothing can probably be done to eliminate it Staff was wonderful and nice😃

Ron Woodhead

Disappointing overnight stay (with a reservation) while motorcycle touring through the area Had to quickly change rooms due to soiled walls in the initial room Second room was marginally better

Overall, the facilities are in need of a thorough cleaning, updates & renovations Our prior experiences with Quality Inn franchises have been very good; this one needs some attention

We checked in on a Friday night, room was 140$ which was comparable to most other ones around, but this one also has breakfast and pool It’s also very close to a lot of other eating etcOur room was way bigger than I expected

Nice big sitting area, sink and counter Our room was clean The staff who checked us in were very polite Parking was easy I didn’t notice the road noise or anything but I sleep with ocean sounds on which solves that problem easily anywayThe pool is big and went to 6 feet, shower right there with towels The gym is also right by the pool and it has everything I’d need and is cleanBreakfast had eggs, sausage, potato, toast, cereal, waffles, yogurt, muffins, coffee, juice, fruit Nice seating area for breakfastI was surprised by some of the bad reviews Maybe we got lucky with a nice room or (279)or a good housekeeper, possibly people are expecting a bit too much of a small beach town hotel under 200 a night?I’d stay here again for sure!

Anthony Francisco

Room is 291 it’s not to bad, it has a pretty good view of what is around here The carpet is a little bit dated but overall it’s not a bad roomThere is a lot of day time traffic noise during the day with the windows open

I love the fact that it is very quite at nightThis room has some red type Substance that I’m not really sure what it is you can see it in the picturesThe staff has always been amazing here and the food is pretty goodI am not into giving bad reviews unless it is absolutely necessarySo I just checked out the spa and the pool ph on the spa and the pool is spot on

jazy jenkins

Loved this stay, very comfortable When entered the room , the family had said it smelled like a Dead Fish which I feel is a easy fix , definitely be aware ! Maybe bring a spray or Incense! Also

the hot tub and pool area was beautiful and spacious, loved that there was a bathroom inside the area so kids can jump out the pool and use the bathroom with easy convenience!!!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this little gem in North Bend OR As Star Trek fans, the Enterprise room was everything I could have hoped and more The artwork and the little details that Innkeeper Rik provided such as the Space Checkers and the Star Trek cards for the view master and Enterprise mugs sealed the deal

The use of local products to support other small businesses – soap, coffee, and beer – was also a welcome plus and reinforced the feeling of community and diversityRik, our innkeeper, is what made the visit special He gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner His warmth was genuine and his love for the inn was infectiousHighly recommend if in the area!

Cindy Krieger

The themed rooms are clean and well kept There’s a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee pot The owner helped us carry in our luggage; ground coffee beans for my husband; and suggested places to eat and see The owner makes you feel as if you are a guest in his own house! They even have two bicycles that guests can use

We highly recommend the Itty Bitty Inn If we ever come back this way, we’ll definitely stay here!are

Jim Heald

Before I even get to the hotel itself, let me echo what other people have said: the innkeeper Rik is amazing! He genuinely is excited to meet the people who swing through and cares deeply about providing a great experience He helped me find some great fresh caught tuna for dinner, had really good beer on tap, and was overall a great person to get to know! I loved my stay in That 70s Room, and I could tell that Rik put a lot of attention to detail into it – this hotel is his passion project and it shows! 11/10 would stay again!

A wonderful park and resort The staff were very kind and helpful Their amenities made the weekend a real blast for the family

Very affordable pricingThe lake was amazing We will be returning for sure!Very thankful to all the park hosts and staff Everyone we met were so kind and hospitable

Riley Vollstedt

If your looking for the Hilton this isn’t the place for you If you love a comfortable place with extremely helpful over the top friendly staff like Big H this is absolutely the place for you We stayed in a cabin that had everything we needed a nice warm dry place with a kitchen and bathroom

Sure there are minor things here and there that could be done aesthetically but like I said it’s not the Hilton it’s a cozy cabin on the coast They even have a bar with normal bar food and some pretty AMAZING pizza, they also have karaoke nights My fiancé and I sat and had a few drinks and listened to people sing We had a great time and plan on going back soon it’s a nice getaway

Shawn Waldon

Very nice rv park They have 5 tiny homes they call cabins and a few tent sites you can rent for a reasonable price Staff were friendly and so were the other people there

They have all the amenities bathroom, shower, laundry, game room, market, and pizza place The only reasons for the four star were the water pressure for the shower sucked and the picnic tables are very small and low 2 adults is all I would try to fit The nearest beach access is about 15 minutes away so not to bad There is an atv rental place just down the road Definitely will come back but will rent one of the cabins I’m getting to old for roughing it lol

Arrived at campground and was suppose to be full hookups – no sewer hookup but we were allowed to dump at a vacant site for 1000

Our reservation stated $500 for addl car They made us pay $1000 per day as they stated that was a mistake not their issue There was also a charge to use their showers With the prices being charged showers should not cost Fortunately we have a motorhome so we didnt have to use them Very poor customer service and they blamed everything on owners saying there was nothing they could do

Allan Thiessen

This could be a nice park for atv campers Are experience was lacking satisfaction We were charged $60 for full hookup, and we had no sewer

When we pulled in there sign said $50 for full Hookup We asked if they have a dump station and she said yes, that will be $10 We argued that we were billed for full hookup plus $10 according to there sign Her reply was if you want the convenience of dumping here you will pay Last time for us!!!!! And even this was portrayed rudly

I’d like to start by saying I’ve never felt it necessary to leave a review for anything… but I felt it necessary this time From the pictures, I wasn’t to sure about this place, looked kinda sketch, but it was the only place available on short notice, so I booked it anyway After arriving, I saw that I was sorely mistaken

This place is quaint And the staff is super friendly Don’t let the pics, or the average star rating fool you… this place is nice… the rooms are decent size… clean and comfortable And the view is pretty good Also, to whom it may concern, this place is 2A friendly The staff were not at all weary of my sidearm, and were very cool with it… that’s something that is important to me, and probably others as well… would recommended… 🙂

sarina ss

All the staff was super kind and accommodating! Sabrina was super friendly and gave us recommendations on places to go Also, some of the best prices I found in townI would caution you to not stay here if you are a light sleeper though

thin walls means you can hear everything From your neighbors conversation to the cars in the parking lot If this isn’t an issue for you, the place is clean and a nice place to stay!

Brian Kerr

The adage You get what you pay for applies to Capt John’s Motel near the docks in Charleston There’s nothing wrong with the motel, the walls are thin, the bed was over soft and a bit lumpy, there’s no view, and the housekeepers, while they do a great job, are liberal with the Pine Sol to the point of asphyxiation The front desk staff was really friendly and very helpful, the room was clean, one of the rooms we had had a kitchenette which was a surprise, and the motel offers a fish shack for you to clean and cook your catch of the day

The location is twenty minutes from North Bend which may or may not be an issue for you It’s close to a market and a deli, a bar and a nice restaurant It’s not fancy, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing
