Great place to unwind for the weekend! The Cypress Grill overlooks the water with great food and live music at night The service was fantastic for a packed restaurant! Cornelia’s has a breakfast buffet that is really good as well The staff at the front desk was really nice and professional

Our room was spacious and beds were very comfortable No complaints whatsoever

This is a hidden gem for South Georgia Just a “get away from home for a few days” trip meant a quiet time with day trips in the area Not fancy, but totally enjoyable

On-site restaurant for meals is convenient (But do check out Daphne Lodge across the road! ) Georgia does a wonderful job with its state parks – we visited 4 during this trip

The lobby was clean, had a nice fresh smell, and well lit My room was also clean and fresh, no stale odors no stains and the light bulbs actually produced enough light to see around the room The last hotel I stayed in they were very dim

Everything worked in the room and the shower had a shower-head that wasn’t so low that I would have to get on my knees to wash my hair (I am 6′ 7″) The mattress was new and firm, the way I like it I will definitely stay here again Management: Please do whatever you need to retain the people you have working for you now They obviously take great pride in the work they do for you and that is what makes your hotel a hidden gem

After arriving late at night upon check in it was discovered that they gave my reservation to another person with the same last name Although they were still able to accommodate us, it wasnt the room with the bed and sofa that we had requested I was at first okay with this but then noticed that they had charged the card that was on file under the person that had checked in as me and then charged me again for the room I ended up receiving

The purpose of this place was to get a good nights rest while traveling and we had anything but that We discovered a roach in the room pretty quickly and were greeted by wet floors After calling the office, I was told they were sold out and there was nothing that they could do The hot breakfast and the attendant there were the only plus in this situation We tried to get a quick nap after eating before heading on the road again but upon getting in the bed I saw another roach crawling on the pillow At that point we decided to pack our bags quickly and hit the road They offered to give us a $50 credit but the whole room should have been comped considering we weren’t even there 8 hours When you give bad service you get this bad review and a customer who will visit another hotel instead when driving through Georgia Good riddance

Passing through the area while house hunting Stayed for one night Location is right off the highway, plenty of convenient stores and places to eat

Rooms were great and clean Don’t rely on the old reviews, this place has definitely upgraded Beds were comfortable, linens were clean, and it was overall a good room The only downside was the outside night time activities on the property I know the hotel can not prevent this, but that’s my only gripe I won’t go onto detail on what was going on That said, it had no effect on my room, experience and the staff Breakfast was good as well I would definitely stay again

Immediately disappointed upon check in The front desk told me the pool was out I had called the hotel front desk directly when I booked this hotel to specifically ask about the pool and was told it was open

The man working the front desk told me “I promise you that’s not true” more than once He was condescending and rude and I didn’t appreciate the insinuation that I was a liar after I thoroughly researched this hotel for that very reason They also did not have the ground floor room available for my parents that I requested ahead of time They gave all the rooms to local workers instead Then, the hotel was barely air conditioned and very hot and humid in the whole building The door to our room was broken and slammed shut instantly instead of properly closing The outside door by the elevators was a total fire hazard and you could not get out of the door from the inside! The front desk was also very rude about not giving my parents a triple A discount The lobby was also swarming with gnats The only thing anyone in my family liked in the whole place was the pancake machine :/ This hotel needs to be reported for false advertisement and to the local authorities for allowing fire hazards

This would have been a 5 star review

The room was clean, spacious and well appointed, bed was comfortable, staff polite and pleasant, I was even given a late check out But the review gets 2 stars because first and foremost a hotel room is for a good night’s sleep, and the noise from the interstate is REALLY loud You guys really need to get double glazed windows or a similar sound deadening solution

Jeremy Medlin

Wow, checked in at 6 Pm and by far the most unhappy rudest front desk person Hey, if you don’t like people don’t be in the hotel business We paid for a suit, would have happily paid for lower room at any other hotel

If you are in this area for any reason, (we were here for girls softball tournament) I strongly recommend you avoid this place

Julie Teffeteller

The property did not match the online photos or description We booked this hotel because it had a pool but the pool was closed Not temporarily–It didn’t even have water in the pool and there was a sign saying it was closed for the season

in July Everything was old, dirty, scratched The furniture looks like it’s been beat up The wall paint was chipped off There were dark water spots on the ceiling of the bedroom like there’s a leak, the toilet was clogged, the A/C went out in the middle of the night We were woken up in the middle of the night repeatedly by noisy guestsThere wasn’t a single gluten free option at the breakfast buffet (other than fruit), and the staff wasn’t sure what gluten was The staff members were friendly though and tried to offer us oatmeal, but this isn’t considered gluten free unless the packaging specifically says that It’s 2022 I expect most hotels to have at least one gluten free option–Cheerios at leastOverall, it was a very unpleasant experience for us The pictures should match the property If you say you have a pool, there should be a pool We paid for a “suite” so our kids could have their own space and felt like this was big waste of money

We stopped on our trip to FL, easy pull through site, level with easy electric water and sewer hookupsMore importantly I have to tell you the new owner, Paul made us feel welcome and helped us with some issues we had on our way to the park We had a medical emergency with our dog and weren’t sure we were even going to be able to make it to the park for our reservation

Paul and his wife worked with us to put us at ease They checked in several times to see how our fur baby was doing! Genuinely nice people He is working to make the park even nicer as the new owner

Diane Morgan

I’m going out on a limb here with the 4 stars, BUT, this campground can be considered a “diamond in the rough” We only stayed one night as we were heading back to our FL home Staff was super friendly and helpful

Pool looked good although we did not use it No wifi or cable TV Very easy on/off access to I-75 The website said new owners in 2020 It’s 2022 and honestly, the old pictures on the website look much better than what we actually seen There are a lot of permanent residents; I believe we were the only “newbies” staying that night A lot of work can make this park shine, but it will take a LOT As a woman, I was uncomfortable there And the gnats can carry you off! I also understand the last 2 years have sucked due to covid, now we are dealing with over the top gas prices (thanks to Russia and the greed of oil companies I might add) and inflation, so I don’t know when/if this park will ever be the park it wants to be If I had not read the new owner is in the process of fixing up, I would give it one star

dana estep

Perfect level spot for our much needed break from our trip home from flaWe were able to pull through and leave truck attached so we could scoot on out in the morningThey had ducks that are just about ready for the pond

The new owners, Paul and Susan, are super sweet and very helpfulPlayground was beautiful and ready for children! We will definitely stop here again!

Safe and quiet environmentGood breakfast barI’ll certainly choose to stay here again very soonThank you to the staff

Shelly Cervenan

We stayed here on a trip from Michigan to Florida The rooms were clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, water pressure in shower was great Breakfast was also one of the best continental free breakfasts I have had

Everything was filled and a great selection We left our car packed and I was comfortable with the amount of light and outdoor cameras Some road noise but we sleep with white noise so doesn’t bother me I felt safe Great stop for a night Would stay here again

Mackenzie Thompson

Room was okay The room (127) has a weird musty, humid type of smell to it and carpet felt “gummy” It’s really hard to explain but it smells/feels like a humidifier is on too high

Beds were sufficient for one night, but I’m not sure the room is worth what we paid for it Paint is peeling in bathroom and there’s a crack in shower wall Was very quiet though, and free breakfast was great 👍

We came through and stayed and loved it so much we stayed on our way back too The staff is awesome and very accommodating We have a 3 year old and they made sure we were away from people as requested so he wouldn’t bother anyone

They were smiling and happy to help The rooms were clean The breakfast had a lot of different varieties for everyones taste Will definitely stay again if we ever come this way

Clean modern room, comfortable bed Just what I was expecting, and relieved to find after a tiring drive AC was set super low for my preference(low 60s) but that was only a discomfort for a while

Noticed pool was open, which is a plus, but spa tub was not Restaurant not too far on Lake Blackshear was a surprise treat for a place to eat by the water and to walk a bit afterwards in the state park

Eric Fitzsimmons

Got in at midnight and the girl working told us we got the last room Turned heat on because the room was 67 and went to bed Woke up at 2am freezing because heat didn’t work and it was 60

We woke about every hour until we got up and turned the hair dryers on for 30mins At 9am I told the morning shift lady that I thought I should get half my 100 bucks back She said that she would have somebody look at the unit and she would talk to the Manager about crediting my card She said that she would call me afterwards Never happened I usually never take the time to write a review but this one really got me You guys can try them but I will never stay with them again
