Loved this hotel, rooms are a great size and super clean Staff and Management, specifically Amy was wonderful and super sweet and attentive

this was the first time visiting west Virginia We requested extra blankets and got them right away Breakfast was delicious, waffle maker a plus there was no pressure from the staff to hurry even though we were there just a few minutes before it was over Looking forward to returning to West Virginia love everything from this hotel close to everything I do recommend this place

Gail Burkett

The front desk employee was excellent Got us a better rate The rooms are great, large, very clean

We had a suite with a kitchen, everything was new and very clean The breakfast had eggs, potatoes, sausage, waffle maker, yogurt, pastries and much more Will definitely stay here again next time we’re in town for a baseball tournament

Tea Hermankova

After challenging, only available direct flight from LAX to Pitzburg, overnight flight from LA, spending 1 day in Pitzburg, it was really pleasant experience to come to Wyndham The good size room offers everything what we need including a fridge, stove, working table Very nice and welcoming staff at the reception and breakfast area is what we have noticed at our first day from 6 more coming

Very pleasant experience at a breakfast with cosy dining area ( living room) with a fire place in common area The surroundings is very pleasant with many stores, open green areas

Loved everything!! The employees were nice and helpful, and went out of the way to be helpful The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable The breakfast was great, and the employee by the way I wish I could remember her name, was great and made sure the food was fresh and hot, she went out of her way to help me

Checking in and out was easy The pool was clean,as well as the grounds Overall I had a great time and I will stay here again Well worth the price 👍👍

From beginning to end I was unsatisfied with my experienceAt check in we were placed on a different floor from our family We asked to be moved and was told there was no availability

Must have been to much work to pull him from the lounge TV to accommodate usFamily members has rooms with mildew growing on bathroom doorAt breakfast I kindly asked for a chocolate milk for my son Which apparently warranted a sigh of disgust and a curt ” I’ll get it when I get it”At check out I wanted s receipt The clerk yelled across the lobby for me to drop my room keys I got another glare and something mumbled to stand there and wait for a receiptIt us good that I got the receipt as the hotel charged our families incidental card again for an online bookingThose charges will likely need to be cc disputed as the manager still has not called

Natalie Jones

The staff were so helpful I thought I was booking through Wyndham but was hijacked to another booking company They messed up my reservation to where I only had a king bed in each room

I needed one king room and one with two queens Normally this is something that just can’t be fixed apparently in the hotel world but they were able to figure out a way to make it work for us I so appreciate the outstanding service

This hotel is STUNNING I didn’t get to see it prior to the renovation, but it is absolutely gorgeous I kept telling my parents that they HAD to stay here when they visited (mostly out of my selfish desire to see the rooms), but they chose to stay elsewhere

So, while they were here, I took them to HM for drinks at the bar and to get a look around They LOVED it The hotel reminds me of the days of prohibition, although the bar served us quite well! Perhaps my family’s favorite food during their entire visit was the pretzel with the 3 different dips from the bar It was huge (fed 3 of us well) and while we considered a second one, we decided to save some room for our dinner Our bartender was sweet and attentive, and made fantastic recommendations that led to mom and I having a most delicious “chocolate-covered strawberry” cocktail Hubby and I will definitely be back for a drink, and one of these days I’ll get to see a room here!

anna chiara

Clean rooms, great bar, comfortable bed and pillows, easy to walk everywhere, friendly and helpful staff Visited for a wedding and thought that the food was well above average and the setting was elegant The music sounded great and the staff was attentive

I would recommend this venue and hotel to anyone! Love the remodel and keeping a local Morgantown business up to date and unique with the original character and welcoming atmosphere

Dawnte Dooling

Contemporary rooms with a splash of old Pleasant staff Would highly recommend

Price was too cheap for how nice it isMaybe city/ state had a huge play, but I’ve definitely paid more for less

Paid for a king suit for 209 dollars a night No free breakfast and nothing in that town opens until like 2pm to get breakfast No cleaning services until you leave

You have to ask for more towels if you’re staying over a night The room key stops working after one night No free parking and the pass they do give you for a garage down the road only allows one vehicle The parking garage they have connected to the hotel barley fit my SUV let alone my boyfriend’s truck Staff was rude Over priced room We were also charged a fee that is for if you break something, even though they never even checked the room yet the bar wasn’t open when I got there at 10pm the coffee machine in the room was broken The sink didn’t drain Also at night when there’s no staff and you need something, the bell doesn’t do anything you can ring it 100x and nobody will come to assist you the list just goes on and on It’s a great hotel if you want no sleep because drunk people are just running screaming through halls all hours of the night I don’t even understand how they have 42 stars on Google I’ve stayed at better motels than this 10/10 do not recommend and would never go back

Kellie Pink

Everything looks nice at the surface level but if you actually look at the sheets, the chairs/sofa’s, and the carpet they were all gross We found tampon applicators and white crusty stains on the sofa in ours friends suite The fire alarm went off every time I showered, and parking is not free

The staff was very nice and helpful so that was a plus

Karen Vinsant

Rooms are clean Comfortable bed No frills

Key marked with wrong room number No breakfast TV did not work, reported but never fixed Charged for parking without notification (it was in the small print at checkin, was not mentioned verbally) Key didn’t work on second night Door to parking lot would not let me leave, desk clerk had to come and open it Some snacks, breakfast food and drinks in lobby, but was overpriced, especially since it was suppose to come with the room Was pretty disappointed

I’m the type of person who doesn’t sleep well at hotels because I’m paranoid about bedbugs and all manner of grossness that comes with a room other people have slept in BUT, this hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful, from the moment we walked in the door Our room was well appointed and suited the needs of our family of four

Sheets and bathroom were clean, pool was a blast for the kids We didn’t get to try the breakfast buffet The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the floor in our room was dirty The bottoms of our kids’ feet were dirty after their baths, I presume from the tile floor (we remove our shoes at the door) Overall, I slept It was a great stay, and a nice respite for our road weary family

Rented a room almost a week in advance I live almost an hour away from this hotel so I wanted to be sure I got one Me, my daughter, mother, father, and brother were staying for Mother’s Day weekend

We had plans in Bridgeport that morning and figured it’d be a nice little get away and wouldn’t have to drive Mother’s Day morning We showed up at check-in time and started the process The woman up front asked how many people were going to be in the room At first I said 3 adults but then I wasn’t 100% sure if my brother was going to be staying the night and showering So him and I were trying to figure out if he was going to be there She rudely interrupted with an attitude saying, “Im trying to figure out if I have to get another towel or not” I was taken aback and told her that’s what I was in the process of trying to find out and that the attitude and interruption was not necessary as we had been nothing but nice So that put a sour taste in our mouth She continued checking us in and once I gave her my zip code she told us she couldnt rent to us, that they had a no locals policy I had stayed in the same exact hotel 4 months prior I know its discretion because some young locals can try to party and such We are clean and respectful people It was obvious we were not there to party considering half of us were over 40 and had a baby She just didn’t appreciate when I told her the attitude and interruption was not needed about who was going to be in the room We took our money to the Wingate by Wyndham and the gentleman who helped us there was absolutely amazing and was amazed Comfort Suites wouldn’t take our money Im a diamond member here and due to work and travels we spend a lot at hotels Unfortunately this hotel will not be one we will return to do to the horrid service we received

Pulled in late at night tired from the road You never know what to expect when bleary-eyed from a long day and good part of the night Well, it was a recently remodeled room, clean, and quiet

I was impressed for the price point and would be happy to stay there again Nice bed, bathroom and layout It could have used a coffee maker but fresh coffee was in the lobby (good coffee btw) Four stars only as the rooms were pretty tight and the carpet by the bathroom side of the bed was wet from something Overall very good and I will look closer at Red Roof Inn’s next time I’m traveling

Diane Tietjen-Prentice

Pleasantly surprised! The outside looked a little “tired”BUT

the check in lady 5/15/2022 was the best! So sweet, kind, thorough, and helpful Then one of the cleaning gals came in (Sydneysorry I did ‘t get the other lady’s name) Sydney had a great big smile and when the other lady asked her to do something, she happily agreed Really they were so nice We got to the room and it was nicely remodeled and Sydney did such a great job cleaning and setting it up We were so pleased Please thank them for usDiane and Scott Prentice

We were passing through and needed a spot to stay for the night The evening/night staff was warm and welcoming Upon getting to our room, we were met with clean comfort

The beds and pillows are very soft and fluffy We all slept very well and awoke refreshedThe morning staff was equally friendly and welcoming The breakfast was delicious with perfect coffeeIf we ever pass through here again we will definitely choose this place I’ve already recommended it to someone

Sue Murrock

Excellent complimentary breakfast Staff friendly and helpful Mattress was old and very soft

Parking garage only has 7 ft clearance which we were not able to fit our pickup truck under Price paid at the hotel even with Hilton Honors discount was more than we would have paid online through 3rd party sites $40 dollars more On a busy, noisy street

Drew Wally

I was staying here for my best friend’s wedding and one of the groomsmen forgot to book his room We asked Rhonda at the front desk if there was availability for a room and she was quite rude / didn’t even check for anything Rhonda scoffed and was unnecessarily dramatic for no reason

She should not be in customer service Luckily for us Cora came right out and said she had a King room available for us and could even book it under the wedding promotion rate She took care of my buddy and his wife who were out of town and had been drinking throughout the night Cora is the absolute best standard of how staff should be treating guests She was very nice, accommodating and went above and beyond what was even askedCora thank you so much for taking care of us

Cozy find with a view of Tygart Lake Loved that it was tucked away from town and close to a few trails The rooms were newly remodeled with a private deck overlooking the lake

Absolutely beautiful and so quiet! The restaurant also has great breakfast Highly recommend the sausage gravy biscuits! All staff was very friendly and happy to recommend activities in the area Great place and will most likely be staying here again, in the future

The park has done a lot of renovation of the grounds themselves, and it shows It’s nice to be able to eat outside The lodge and restaurant itself look the same

The room was nice and the pool area was really nice for the family The front desk person who checked us in and who we dealt with during our 3 day stay was less than acceptable She was extremely grumpy and should not be customer facing

Other members of their team were nice and pleasant We stay here 5-6 times a year and refer many of our family to this hotel This is the first time in all the years of staying here that we have had a negative experience I would also recommend that they do a better job with the morning breakfast Better danishes and fruit All the juices were out of service Thanks

cassie Hill

The room was very stinky, had a strong buring smell coming from the fridge and microwave Front desk guy removed the microwave, but the smell came back Couldn’t use fridge due to smell

Hotel was sold out of rooms with double beds so eventually had to be moved to king with a pullout couch (very uncomfortable) at 9pm at night with 2 kids and my elderly grandmother with no help Manager wasn’t any help at all when checking out Pretty much said since I booked threw Hotelscom she couldn’t do anything Contacted Hotelscom they where very helpful, but the hotel only wanted to refund me $3000 for all the trouble we had Lady from Hotelscom said the manger would barley talk to her, got disconnected and wouldn’t get back on the phone So couldn’t get the issue resolved Still trying to get a full refund Hotelscom has been very helpful in trying to resolve this issue Would not recommend this property

Chad Thomas

Not a bad place to stay, but I have stayed in cleaner Super 8’sAll of the electronics worked wellA few things that we’re not top shelf is the freezer needed defrosted, to the point where the freezer door was open and made the whole refrigerator and freezer, there were cigarette burns on the blanket in a non-smoking room, and there was only a shampoo and a soap, but no conditioner in the bathroom

Nothing too major, but I’m used to a pretty good visit at Super 8I wouldn’t not stay, just a little few things

Because they gave us a room knowing that it was full of bed bugs Room 206 had been treated for bed bugs 24 hours prior to our visit I’ve contacted them

They will not give number to corporate amd when we finally spoke to a Manger TJ Nicholson was rude and disrespectful the entire phone call If I were you might as well go to the Hilton Inn for a bit more money but you’ll have no beds bugs and a pool that’s in service 1/10 I wouldn’t recommend

Beautiful hotel on the river, adjacent to a nice river walk to a playground and restaurants We stayed in a roomy suite that had enough space for a pack and play and toddler mattress The hotel breakfast was great! ($15 per adult and $8 per child buffet, but we got vouchers because there was no breakfast at the lounge for our Marriott membership status)

Speaking of which the lounge was LOVELY Riverfront views, fancy coffee machine, all the usual lounge snacks, and my husband loved the sparkling water on tapParking garage on site but you have to pay for it My one critique is during off seasons (like summer) you shouldn’t have to pay because it was very empty

Matthew Mueller

A super nice hotel Absolutely beautiful All of the renovations are new and recent

Hands down the nicest gym I’ve ever seen inside any hotel They had a high-end equipment for a complete workout and including cardiovascular equipment A great view of the river while working out There was no complementary food unless you are a platinum member or something like that Although I must admit, the bourbon and steakhouse attached inside the hotel was extremely decadent The best bacon I’ve ever had hands down The breakfast buffet is only available if the hotel is at a certain percentage booking rate, only one of my days was met there but the breakfast was spectacular including the breakfast I paid for that was not buffetOne of my biggest gripes is while the room is excellent, there were some maintenance deficiencies that could be approved upon The handheld shower nozzle had a huge gaping hole in it that was spraying everywhere There were some loose fixtures found around the bathroom Small things like that which seem completely out of place for a high-end hotel like this

guten morgan

This hotel is generally nice Nice views of the mountain and lake and nice rooms even but I really do not like the bathrooms I do not like the sliding door and there is little privacy in the bathroom

The staff is very nice In the dining room, I wish they would have some gluten free bread in the back for celiac or gluten free guests! If you are looking to stay here for something related to the university, it is very very close!

I’ve stayed at this location many many times for work related travel (Military) While each stay has presented its own difficulties, usually they can be worked through This stay however, was much unlike any other and has left me with no choice but to discontinue use of this Hotel

While I don’t expect this Hotel to be of great quality, I do expect it to be free of infestation and to have working plumbing In the attached picture you will find a bed bug on the bed, and a tub that clearly would not drain The manager was gracious enough to refund the stay, but he did not seem genuine in rectifying the issue I attempted to resolve further issues through IHG, but the only offer made to me was the equivalent of $20 in points, to again stay at one of their locations 10/10 would not recommend This hotel needs adequate staffing and better management

Jordan Levy

Room was clean, the bathroom spotless, the only minor negative was the sheets showed worn spots and were threadbare in places Breakfast buffet was standard fare scrambled eggs, omelets bacon, turkey sausage cereal

I plan to stay here again my next time in WV
