I won’t be staying here anytime in the futureI stayed 5 nights and 6 days, my room wasn’t cleaned at all during my stay and the supplies (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc) were NOT replenished

3 of the 5 nights the room key card didn’t open my room door, which required me to go back downstairs and get it fixedThe only positive thing was the buffet breakfast and coffee

Paul Bernhardt

The hotel was ok, but not nearly worth the price I paid The room was standard and reasonably clean The bed mattresses were old and lumpy, the eggs and sausage at breakfast were cold by 8am and the microwave was disgusting

The regular coffee was also gone by 8 am The wireless was really slow The rooms were loud (I could hear all of our neighbors and people arguing outside about a dog)

Was in town 2/18- 2/20First and foremost the staff was above 5 stars While using the computer in the business area I overheard the staff many times give advice to to guest on not only how to get a better rate, also over advice to make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable

Secondly, the bed(s) are AMAZING! I have not slept on a bed that comfortable in years The pillow top mattress is what does the trickThere was a young family with young kids staying next to me that I could here as I walked past their room But once onside my room I couldn’t hear a peepAs someone who is Algeria to cigarette smoke I could not detect any they are constant cleaning and sanitizingWhile still undergoing renovations the main areas were clean and welcoming Work only takes place during the day and is sealed offUnfortunately, due to COVID safety measures the breakfast is only grab-and-go at this time, but was still a very good breakfast that I took back to my roomNext time I am back in town I will definitely stay here

Parking was a breeze, and staff apparently love their jobs – they welcomed me warmly, and went out of their way to help me and my luggage to my room It’s lovely to find people who enjoy what they do, it reflects really well on management The establishment is super clean, and quiet

The room is decorated tastefully, and features a fridge and microwave, two things I always look for There’s a desk and a comfy chair, and lighting is either direct or indirect Nice big TV I would highly recommend for a solo or business traveler

Jaymie Lynn

Super friendly and helpful staff We went to see a concert and stayed overnight The front desk helped us print out the tickets before we left and helped us out late night with some forks so we could eat

Very clean hotel Breakfast was a nice spread and the pool is really nice Every staff member greeted me with a smile and helped me with whatever i needed I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone

I’ve stayed at a few hotels in the past 6 months since I lost my house in a flood So I’m very picky because I want to feel comfortable This hotel is probably one of the best I’ve been to

All hotel staff are very helpful no matter what you need, friendly, and attentive The pool and hot tub are very clean, just the right temperature, and open from 6 am – 11 pm! The bistro is now open and they are adding new items to the menu soon The rooms are nice and clean, beds are sooooo comfortable I had the first night of waking up with no back pain in a long time Laundry on site is a plus I have one complaint which is the pool area is not the cleanest The floor has hair and dirt all over it I feel this could be cleaned every night since it’s all concrete and there drains around the entire pool it could easily be sprayed off, cleaned and squeegee into the drains

Night staff originally was fine I was so tired at first I didn’t even care they charged me $50 more than the online price I just wanted to sleep but the morning staff was very rude They also had extremely lumpy beds that sink in I had a twin room both beds were like that could not sleep

Even though I was on the third floor it was very active for a Sunday night rooms are not sound proof feels like paper thin walls I can hear everything I had a very poor nights rest Also no complimentary breakfast, what they offer is ridiculously expensive For the price you pay per night you world expect at least a free bagel But now two eggs and a bagel is like $10 and they are small portions I stay in hotels a lot so I always bring a glade plug in for the rooms the room was musty but I bring stuff expecting it at older non renovated hotels I don’t recommend staying here there are plenty of other options nearby Save yourself the annoyances and the headache and stay somewhere a little more exclusive for the price A nicer stay isn’t hard to find I for one will not be staying at anymore courtyard or Marriott I think I’ll stick to Holiday inn or express Those are top notch rooms with better service

Sarah W

We booked 2 rooms and celebrated my daughter’s birthday while there In one room, there were multiple fake nails found throughout, including on the bed and in the bathroom Gross, but didn’t complain as we just wanted to have fun and relax in the pool area

Which was great until we got home and 5 of us have broken out with hot tub folliculitis Clearly poorly maintained and disgusting

My company was not aware that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AROUND THIS HOTEL!!! Unless you need a set of tires for your car, that’s it No food, no bars, no shopping It’s basically in the industrial park of Hartford

My company called Expedia trying to cancel the hotel and Expedia called the manager refused to let that happen Probably because they get low reservations due to location Be sure to research whats around your hotel before booking this place Typical Hartford hospitality

The Goodwin, named “Hartford’s Boutique Hotel” I’ve stayed in a lot of places that have dubbed themselves to be “boutique” but just end up being “old as hell”The Goodwin is a rather old building, as much of Downtown Hartford is but it is an absolutely beautiful building

The entire hotel operates properly under the “boutique” name as they have all areas, including the rooms, as a rather swanky, classy way The whole place is updated and modern, but maintains a very historic feel to their conceptThe rooms are very nice and comfortable The shower was great other than they have the “no door” concept, and no matter how I had the shower head, the floor of the bathroom would flood Just a slight design flaw is all it is But other than that everything was great Bed was super comfortable and the staff was amazing!!! The staff was very professional and polite throughout the propertyHad a great stay, looking forward to coming back

Matt Stone

Loved this place Very cute, spacious rooms, especially the bathroom Some of the most comfortable pillows and beds I have ever slept on at a hotel

Softest toilet paper for sure! We came for an event at the XL Center and this was right next door and within walking distance of a lot of Hartford attractions Would stay here again if we visit Hartford again!

Fantastic experience at this hotel! Property was immaculate and the front desk agent had a great personality Corner room had tremendous views and again the room was SUPER clean and smelled fresh The room had a smart tv and refrigerator

The indoor pool on the top floor provided gorgeous views in a relaxing environment to start the day Highly recommend!

Christopher Tavares

Wonderful location for walking around and seeing the sights Which there many more than you may think in the area To the staff from the front desk, restaurant, and bar were always pleasant and had a smile

Which says something, because from a large wedding to an even larger conference, they had their hands full all weekend! We wouldn’t hesitate to give this Marriott another stay very soon

LK Garner

We have stayed at this property several times and had always had a good experience We’re Titanium and have been upgraded often Most recent visit was the first time we were able to use the pool

It’s clean and we’ll maintained The spa is ok but compared to other Marriott spas it has limited staff and offerings The bathroom was not as nice as I expected No towels and the shower needs some attention Best guess is that things are coming back slowly post COVID Overall recommend this property It’s comfortable

This was the first time staying in this area It was wonderful A nice place to stay for a weekend getaway

The room and bed was comfortable It was a bit cool so we had the pool all to ourselves It took a few minutes to get acclimated but afterward we swam for nearly an hour The sitting area on the first floor was very open and inviting There were many large windows I also enjoyed walking the labyrinthine floors and stairwells It was a great stay

We used the Courtyard at Marriott (Cromwell) for our wedding guests (hotel room block) and 3 wedding events The Sales Manager, Jennifer Roze was amazing! She was nice, knowledgeable, answered all questions promptly, was helpful every step of the way! She quickly resolved any issue or question I had This hotel also doesn’t penalize you if you don’t utilize all the rooms in your room block

That isn’t true for other hotels I was looking at Regarding the 3 Wedding Events (Hair & Makeup Room with Breakfast for the ladies, a separate Breakfast for the men, an After Party and a Post Wedding Breakfast All 3 events exceeded my expectations!! All staff at the hotel (literally every person I came in contact with) was pleasant, welcoming, and effective The food and drinks (Wedding Day Breakfast, After Party items, Post Wedding Breakfast) were delivered on time, were tasty, and plentiful The head of housekeeping introduced herself to me outside of the Hair & Make-up room and said if there’s anything she can do for me/us, to let her know To me, that is above and beyond For the after party, I didn’t realize that they would keep replenishing food That was a pleasant surprise At the post wedding breakfast, everything was delicious The pastries and breads were top quality Plenty of juice options Coffee was good As for the rooms, they were spacious, beds were comfortable, good water pressure in the shower All good The price for the rooms and events were reasonable They had professional looking signs for each event Thank you to everyone at the hotel who helped to make all our events a HUGE SUCCESS!! We and our guests were very happy I highly recommend this hotel for a Wedding Weekend option!

Very nice hotel and staff Check in was easy and the room was thoroughly cleaned prior to check in There is a refrigerator, small range and microwave but they were limited on the cooking pots and utensils

Bed was very comfortable The only concern that I had was the scent of Marijuana right as you walk in as people seem to smoke around the front door Apparently Connecticut is approved for recreational use Other than that this is a great hotel in a quiet location

Er Ki

Let me tell you something about an amazing person named Karla Karla, the front desk manager has taken guest service to a whole new level As a loyal guest with Hilton you expect amazing service

But at this hotel, “Hyatt” Karla has gone way above guest service It would take me a hour to tell you how wonderful of a person she is Trust me, if you ask for her she will go way above guest service to help you TRUST ME!!!

Denise Mccall

I had the worse experience I rented a room to have birthday cake with my 4yr old granddaughter When I walked in with my cake I was stopped by the manager, she said I could only have 4 people in my room which wasn’t a problem, she continues on to say she’s going to call the police if I have more than 4 guest

She never game me the opportunity before being extremely rude She was so disrespectful & unprofessional that I no longer felt welcome I got a refund, went across the street to the Hilton Garden Inn They were very nice & professional The manager from the Hyatt house went the extra mile to call the Hilton & asked them not to rent me a room They were very shocked she did that I enjoyed my stay No issues at allim still in shock on the treatment I received at the Hyatt House

Very clean & spacious rooms Love the apartment style for easy in an out Wish the bathroom was accessible without going through the bedroom but wasn’t an issue for our family

Breakfast was a to be expected hotel breakfast The kids loved the waffles and cereal choices I loved the cheese omelettes Pool is very clean Would definitely stay here again

Kate A.

The room was fairly nice with the exception of the bathroom not being very clean The breakfast was fairly good as far as hotel food goes My problem was a billing issue and the management’s complete failure to follow up with getting it resolved

I paid with cash at checkout and was told my credit card would be reimbursed for the original fee charged when I booked the reservation 6 1/2 weeks and four phone calls made to the hotel later and still no refund or any information as to WHEN they even plan to send it to me They’ve essentially told me it’s my own fault for giving the front desk clerk the cash because the type of reservation I made didn’t have an option for cash payment instead of the fact that he should not have accepted the money or told me that it could be credited back to the card Terrible management/ customer service!!

We got the 2 Queen studio room Definitely worth the extra couple of dollars considering you get a pullout couch, and much larger room Plus the TV does rotate so you can put it towards the best or living room set

Only complaint for us was the room light went out around midnight for the bathroom and there’s no extra light And the pullout couch had half the support on it (the bottom went out on the area where you put your feet) but you could still sleep on itBreakfast was alright, wish there were more options and wish the waffle maker was more accurate with batter and time because it’s definitely easy to put too much batter and wreck the waffles, and the time on it seems to be off Other than that they have other breakfast options and wish they had a couple moreEach floor had soda vending machines for a decent price ($2), there were elevators, free coffee and hot chocolate as well as bottles of water at the lobby If you wanted too as well, they had masks and wipes for people as well One complaint I will have is pool was very crowded and I’ve seen past reviews where people that lived nearby would go in and use it and I believe it There were people outside the pool door trying to get in or asking people who walked by if they could let them in Hours for it aren’t the best as well if you go out in the evening and have kids Hours were 8am-10pm for the pool, 6am-12am for the fitness center, and 6am-10am for breakfastI would definitely stay again for sure as it was a great hotel and the digital key works for Hilton members plus you can check in and out on the app and use your phone as your key Plus if your room is ready early, you can go up then Check in is usually at 3pm and the room was ready at 1145 Definitely recommend signing up for it if you haven’t already because you also get a discount on rooms

A terrible hotel experience The room provided to us had the view of the back of the hotel sign It covered 90% of the view, easily

The air conditioner did not work effectively, and the beds were extremely uncomfortable The trash can had remnants from the previous occupants Also, no hot waterBreakfast was stale- the only saving grace was the exceptionally kind breakfast staff There was an employee there with dark hard and blue eyes, and she was extremely kind and courteous to usMy family and I usually always prefer staying at a Hampton, but this has been a poor experience

Shantel Horan

This hotel is in a rough part of town One night stay is ok, but stay no longer It’s loud ( clientele and staff), not clean, needs to be updated (seriously)

My room had a strong small i couldn’t make out Shower was old, fitness center a mess Clientele i could tell was a big part of the issue I had a 5 night stay booked for work I changed Hampton Inn locations after the first night because I was not comfortable staying by myself at this location Stay in a group if you decide to stay here

Our stay was an overnight The staff was very professional and hospitable Our room was very nice as was the rest of the hotel

We’ve been to this location several times I er the years and they’ve remodeled and made some very modern upgrades If I have one negative it would be the fact there is no complimentary breakfast There is a restaurant in the hotel, but it is on the pricey side Also don’t do the breakfast buffet be sure to ask for the menu Will definitely continue to stay here though

Cindy Pohd

Last minute decision to stay over, very happy there was a room left Lobby was crowded when we arrived with lots if kids, some type of sports event going on (?)Front desk staff were so nice, so friendly!Room was very nice, very clean Mattress not very comfortable

Very surprised there was no coffee available in the morning in the lobby~

Jason Keenan

I say Marriott is as far as things go for a business class hotel Breakfast isn’t included so you’ll have to go out to get your own or settle for the hotel restaurant, bed spreads in the room were stained or dirty it was hard to tell, pay per day wifi isn’t exactly what people want, and the sliding bathroom doors are a maintenance nightmare at best As far as service the staff was completely wonderful, and maintenance did try to fix the issue with the bathroom door, and housekeeping was very good about finding an air mattress for my son to use during our stay

Overall I don’t have to much an issue with their pricing it was good considering the short notice however they did lose some points because of the bed spreads being stained Lovely views and great location Marriott could just use some miner tweaks to get a higher rating included breakfast would definitely be a plus

Substandard for MarriottRoom 1/5 Amenities 3/5 Overall 2/5

I travel for business and stay exclusively at Marriott, and I have to say this hotel sits in the bottom three of a long list of US Marriott locations I stayed here the third week of July 2022Pro:The entrance/lobby is nice and modern Standard Marriott decor and ambience The business area is ample and has the correct amount of background noise Power outlets are plentiful near chairs and tables, which is necessary for today’s electronic demands The exterior of the property is quite well maintained The courtyard is expansive with shaded areas and plenty of seating options All goodNotable:This location does NOT have the standard buffet breakfast included, rather you have to order from their “Bistro” menu Quite a few Marriott brands are doing this now but it’s worth highlighting for the incoming traveler It’ll run you around $15 USD pp for breakfast if you have anything other than yogurt and coffee Coffee is not complimentary The fare for the price is pretty good, but a better option for the money may be to drive a couple miles to Cracker Barrel or similar, if you have timeCon:This is 3-floor hotel Do not stay on the bottom floor Period The hotel is pet friendly, which is fine, and the bottom floor is the pet floor, it seems Travelers need to be ready for what that bringsIf you are inclined to stay on the pet floor then you need to be prepared for the lack of sunlight reaching the rooms on this level The bathrooms are interior to the room, but do not have fans, just passive air exchange AC is functional but does not have built-in dehumidification Result: the rooms are dark, dank, damp The humidity is so bad on the bottom floor that towels do not dry, even after 24 hours, and the carpet, linens, bedding, and furniture feel wet to the touchYou know that point where that dank, wet towel smell is like intense body odor or swamp? Yeah, that was my room Unfortunately odor is something you can’t capture in pictures The couch in my room looked like a discarded casting couch The furniture overall was pretty dinged up The bed sported a classic pay-by-the-hour depression The bathroom was a portal to 2001 The patio opened onto mulch, which leads to mess in the room and dirty carpet Just a very substandard room for Marriott by all accounts, especially at the price pointNow, it could be that the upper rooms at this location are fine and I just got a sh*t room, but I visited the rooms of traveling colleagues to compare and many of the same deficiencies were presentIn sum, if you’re staying here then I’d advise you to demand an upper floor room or an interior courtyard room on the main level And even then, you may need to adjust your expectations of what you’re getting at north of $200 USD/night I’ve had way better rooms at budget chains This was unexpected and it was disappointing as a loyal Marriott customer I will choose another hotel if I’m in the area again

Two treadmills, full set of free weights and bench, even an elliptical Towels are a plenty, and access it key card 24/7Room was located right off of a side door, lots of parking and easy in and out each morning Just down the road from a Buffalo Wild Wings, Moe’s, beer/wine store and a major grocery storeCOVID controlled the overall atmosphere, so dining services were limited, but you could get breakfast/coffee for a small fee every morning Looked like they were running on only few employees, so most times the person who checked you into the hotel, will also make you your coffee

I was impressed with how clean and comfortable this hotel was I very much appreciated the 24/7 shuttle since my flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until 1 am Shuttle driver was quick to arrive and very kind

I was disappointed that my digital key didn’t work, especially since that meant walking back down the hall and to the lobby (I was exhausted) but the front desk staff was helpful in getting me into my room quickly The bed was very comfortable There was a weird noise coming from the in-room refrigerator so I unplugged that in order to fall asleep The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good! I did not expect that The way the food was served was clean and appropriate, given continued Covid challenges Coffee was very good, too! I would definitely stay here again

I simply had reason to be near the airport I had to switch from another Hotel so it was only a 1 night visitI found the room to be clean and organized

Having little things like a refrigerator, coffee pot, and a microwave are always helpful to myselfI don’t always take the time to eat breakfast but I did, quite acceptable I had no need for a Fast Food breakfastThis location could throw you off track slightly Being on the other side of RT20 puts it a tiny bit further from some of the other establishments The Hotel is set back slightly, it is a little odd entering the parking lot Only if you haven’t been there beforeYes it has been a while but there was a Hampton Inn within 200 yards on the opposite side of RT20 75, the Ella Grasso TurnpikeStaff was friendly and helpful

Very nice rooms Old school style Not sure what circa the style is from but it was a nice break from the usual modern style we’re used too

The grounds were impeccable Staff was delightful It’s in a great location to shopping and food I was a bit concerned about how our experience would be being that my husband and I are Afr Amer but we were treated very respectful and felt welcomed Would highly recommend

Melissa Stein

Staff is amazing I have mobility issues and it’s hard for me to get around and carry items I called the front desk and asked for a new coffee pod

Thinking I was just going to get the little make your own stuff that housekeeping leaves in the room and honestly that’s all I asked for The front desk made me coffee and delivered it to my room This was at 430 in the morning!!!! I was fully prepared to make it myself but they were so awesome Love it

I enjoyed my stay at Avon Old Farms Hotel The rooms are unique and quite cozy The only downside was that they had no microwave (at least in the room I stayed)

To my surprise, they had a phone on the bathroom wall next to the toilet I was thinking, “should I call for more toilet paper?” 😆 I’ve stayed at many hotels and that was a first Overall, it was a quiet and safe place that’s located near West Hartford and Hartford

My family and I checked in only to check right back out within 30 minutes I am big on customer service and when we entered the lobby they were at least 6 people standing at the check in counter Not one person opened their mouth to welcome us or even say hello

My husband stated that he received the same when getting the keys to the room The hotel room was half clean with hair on the comforter, stains on the chairs and curtains The carpet was stained and half vacuum and there was no way we were using the tub Should have taken photos but I didn’t With COVID and other diseases on the rise please do better making people feel comfortable when staying in your hotel

Although dated, initial impression was positive On second morning, a Sunday, the toilet flooded for no apparent reason Call to front desk resulted in no assistance other than being told maintenance did not arrive until 10 a

m, 3 hrs later I figured out shut off myself and mopped up water with towels Housekeeping never arrived to assist and request for clean towels was ignored After 2 hours, when I again went to front desk frustrated there was no working bathroom, I was told to calm down After demanding a different room, this was accomplished No apology, no refund or room price reduction for inconvenience According to housekeeper met in elevator, this is not an uncommon occurrence at this hotel She was the only person to state she felt badly for what we had gone through and she did not even work on our floor Do not stay at this hotel

This is our new go to when visiting family in Ct It’s got the best location and the grounds are beautiful The staff are all amazing and were very accommodating

Many breakfast options for all 24 hr coffee, tea and hot chocolate Rooms were clean and recently renovated We now feel that we’ve found our home away from home when visiting

crystal heines

do not stay here employees lacked respect including the manager rooms were absolutely disgusting, we did not have new shower products, and we had a used roll of toilet paper

hair and dirt everywhere the musty air made all of our sheets and pillows damp and warm speaking about bedding multiple people in my family had gotten bites from some type of bugs in the bed which is totally unacceptable when we asked for a housekeeping service they did not take the trash, make the bed or give us new towels i would not recommend staying here

Hotel is amazing and comfortable to stay in Staff has excellent service and would highly recommend for travelers The staff members go above and beyond their service to help customers

I highly appreciate the hard work they do Rooms are in excellent condition, comfortable, and clean Location is near some stores, food, and attractions in downtown Hartford The parking is located in the back of the hotel I did have some trouble finding it at first but, the front desk was very helpful and did an amazing job guiding me I hope families will stay at this hotel because I highly recommend it if your in town

Crystal Lefoy

This location could definitely use a MAJOR overhaul Our first room was quite gross and unfit for any person to stay as it smelled of mold and cigarettes, had ripped carpet throughout, a light fixture not working, plus stains on the walls, ceilings, and furniture The second room was better, but still 3 stars

Breakfast was pretty good and thankful that it was free I will say that Carolyn at the front desk was AMAZING and I appreciate her helping make my daughters 5th grade graduation trip better There were no issues with any of the staff we encountered as all were pleasant I seriously hope corporate finds it in the budget to renovate this location as it reeks of 2005

Harry Douglas

Probably the biggest hotel rooms you will ever see!! Ask for one of the rooms ending in 01 if you can!The staff are wonderful and really go above and beyond when it comes to customer service The breakfast isn’t the same every day and there’s always plenty of choice The location is great for food and drink options in the evening

I stayed there two weeks in a row for workWould stay there again!

Room was very clean and looked like it did in the photos Booked and prepaid for room through Priceline without any issues The Inn staff are kind and helpful

There is a 10 dollar facility fee per night that the hotel charges once you get to the Inn but considering you have breakfast included and there is happy hour/snacks + pool access, it seems worth it! Close to downtown Hartford, about 10 min drive Would recommend!

Kristofer Lamb

Staff was good Overall check in was nice and quick Looked very cute in the lobby

The room looked good and cute at first glance After entering the room it just felt damp in there every we touched just felt damp With mildew smellAfter looking around more the tub was covered in other peoples hair, toilet had hair in it and is cracked looks like it’s about to break, carpet was barely vacuumed, found hair on the sheets , blood spots on the walls Over all the room condition is horribleWe will not be staying here again

Lizzi Perkins

Quaint inn in a quaint town This inn was picturesque with the decor and vibes I wanted to see from a trip to New England The classy lobby had nice couches and a fireplace to sit in (we stayed up chatting until the early morning after a wedding)

Breakfast was nice from 7-11 with complementary coffee and fruit (bananas, apples, and oranges) out at all hours (which prevented some hangovers for our party)Staff were very friendly and accommodating, letting us check in a couple hours early so we could prep for the wedding
