I had a 2 night stay here last week and I was greeted by Mia who was a very friendly and informative employee She even offered to look up restaurants/closest wine stores nearby for me when I inquired I really appreciated the kindness upon arriving

My room was very clean and and modern and the shades made the room dark for sleeping The only issue I had were some very noisy neighbors around midnight which lasted until around 1:30, which sounded like they were moving furniture around for 45 minutes and banging on the walls, but that is not the hotel’s fault I enjoyed the breakfast and always available coffee/tea in the lobby as well I was going into DC and the Greenbelt Metro station was a 10 minute drive from the hotel, which was very convenient also I look forward to staying here again the future

I always travel for work and always stay here when I’m in town It’s one of the cleanest and best 3 star hotels I’ve stayed in It’s always extremely comfortable and is a good location and everything is up to date and new

Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is the noise at night if you’re on the highway side of the building I’m in my 20s and never have issues sleeping even with noise but even this was a little much for me Other than that I would recommend this hotel everytime

Andrew K

Staff was excellent! I’m sorry I can’t give 5 stars on this alone and separate it from the Hotels location! A crowd of “youths” in and around the lobby as I’m checking in after midnight And on the street in and around the Hotel there was rambunctious activity and even fighting that had local police intervention! Great stuff when you’re trying to sleep And not just for a minute or two, this went on for hours! I expect more from a Hilton! And oh, the water dripping out of the shower, basically made it useless was the kicker! Unacceptable! Otherwise the room was spotless and nice, very clean! Again, staff was wonderful and I felt sorry for them having to deal with the trouble there

On our recent trip from Australia we stayed here for one night Unfortunately our room was very unclean Upon discovering pubic hairs in the bathroom floor and soap dispenser we were in shock

After driving 10+ hours and arriving late, we didn’t want to go elsewhere So we pulled back the sheets in both beds only to be further shocked by more hair We moved rooms but then further disappointed by no mention or apology for what we found Won’t be going Marriott ever again

Patrick Rost

I’m allergic to feathers, feather free room is listed in my profile when I checked in I asked at the front desk if the room was feather free? I was rudely told I “I saw it on your profile” I put my bags in the room and when I returned late that evening decided I better check the pillows When I did I discovered feather pillows

This seems to be a systemic problem at Marriott properties I have addressed it through their customer service, heard nothing At one hotel I had an allergic reaction causing me to take Benadryl to stop the reaction which left me tired for my only day in a national park an incident report was filled out and I was assured i would hear from a manager I didn’t and after a week I wrote a review then I finally heard from someone I also filled out an incident report and was told that I would hear from a manager before I checked out Nothing, it’s been a month Since then I always check before I use the pillows Problems happen it’s how you handle them that counts!!

Absolutely beautiful place All the staff were very friendly and hospitable We were treated very well

I love that your car is locked secure in the garage every night Check out time is NOT at the crack of dawnthe only disappointment was the beautiful pool was closedThe bathroom tile was beautiful and clean Beds were comfy and very cleanLocation, I gave 4 stars only because it was a little bit of a walk to get to the museums But also, it was a nicer quiet area, right across the street from the beautiful Martin Luther Church

Mon L

I am staying here currently with my family I can’t say enough about the warm, friendly front desk staff They treat customers with respect and kindness, and went above and beyond to get us a room suitable for our party

The pool and all the facilities are clean, well cared for and comfortable This hotel is a little bit dated in some parts, but the warm and welcoming vibe makes it worth it Excellent value and I just want to say thanks to the amazing staff who work here

Monica Hasbun

Everything was excellent: the location, the service and the cleanliness I want to thank the front desk staff Treasure, Maya, Joy, Tenisha and Evelyn They were all very pleasant and helpful

I was also very pleased with the thoroughness of the housekeeping staff They did a great job cleaning my room meticulously every day The hotel is very nice, regardless of whether it is updated or some rooms are small, which were comments I read from other reviews The rooms are equipped with a small fridge and a coffee maker, and the coffee provided (from Nicaragua) was delicious I also liked the pizza at the patio restaurant by the pool I ordered half vegetarian and half sausage/pepperoni It is lovely to sit there on a nice day Many of the guests are out in the pool area at all times of day I highly recommend this hotel

Place a bit weird 4th floor is probably under construction because the hallway is not air conditioned, super hot during the day and smell like rodents and have a few wall coverings taped in place by masking tape and a part of the hallway curtained off and that where the heat is coming fromThe rooms are quite nice and AC works

Clean bathroom Although the toilet is super high and you feel like a perching eagle with feet dangling (I am 5’10”) Pillows are of 2 varieties – feather and synthetic Decent mattress as wellThere is even a little balcony with a nice view onto the inner patioThe pool is closed due to some regulation from 2020 Gym is open 24 hrs with free weights, 2 treadmills and an elliptical Towels, disinfectant wipes and chilled water machine make it a nice experience working outBar is closed

California Dreaming

After being on the road for 4 hours I arrived to the hotel 35 minutes before the 3pm check in time I went inside to ask if I could possibly check in early (you have to be buzzed in) and as soon as the door opens the lady at the front desk yells across the lobby “if you’re here to check in check in time isn’t until 3pm” I understand rules are made to be followed, I get it, but I would have appreciated a little professionalism on her part to at least pretend to want to accommodate me even if the result (me having to wait 35 minutes to check in) was the same

So I go outside and wait until 3pm to come back to a very rude check in process (by the same lady) I was already turned off by my experience with the front desk only to open the door to a room that was subpar especially for the price I paid (there was a concert going on at the FedEx Field so I’m hoping that’s why the prices were inflated) The bed was springy and lacked support or cushion, the pillows were flat, and my comforter was dingy and stained The shower is VERY small (tub/shower combo) and had hair in it My mirrors had what I assume to be toothpaste splattered on it I explored the area and ended up checking into another hotel nearer to the concert venue that had a very polite staff and the hotel and rooms were a lot cleaner In the immediate area (literally next door to each other) are two other hotel optionsthere is a Residence Inn by Marriott and a Hilton Garden I believe I would fork over the extra couple of dollars in hopes that the service, beds, and cleanliness are better Needless to say if there is an event in the area again I would definitely not come back and will avoid any stays at the Sonesta brand in the future

Nomad Family

Nothing about this hotel makes it worth the price Staff is unprofessional They double charged our bank card for no reason

They said the money would go back to our account same day, had to wait 5+ days Rooms are decent, no amenities here except a mediocre gym Pool is closed for no reason, you have to request microwaves, the fridge in rooms is very small and don’t work well Definitely shady at night, a guy kept trying to sell stuff to us as we enter and exit the hotel building Late at night people standing in the hallways talking loudly The front desk people have no respect and speak to you like you have never stayed in a hotel before, don’t waste your money! Do not recommend and won’t return

The staff is really, really nice!! Easy to get to by public transit— you can call their shuttle to get you from the metro, but it only runs on weekends right now bc of the pandemic It’s about a mile walk in an easy flat area if you don’t have too much luggage or it’s a nice day Beds are super comfy and the showers are great

The toiletries provided are lightly scented and smell great! The rooms are kind of dark at night which I don’t really like, but they are otherwise great Nice and clean The light switches are all electronic buttons which might take you a few minutes to work out but once you get the hang of it it’s kinda nifty The pool and gym are solid and the conference amenities are very attractive as well I haven’t been to the spa myself but a friend got her nails done there and had a great experience The bar is wonderful, though the beer selection is pretty smallThey make a great bloody mary!

Jenny Terry

I loved my stay here! Beautiful hotel with an amazing view Conveniently located just steps from the University of Maryland The staff was nice, the room was immaculate, and the bed was so comfortable

If you are planning a trip to DC this is a great option just outside the district but is located near the metro line I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to visit again

Janna Chan

I have stayed at the University of Maryland Hotel several times over the past few yearsThe rates are good and the service is excellent The staff is very friendly

I wish that some of the rooms had bath tubs instead of just showers but that’s a minor issueThe two restaurants right next to the premises, a pizza place and a bagel place, are excellent and reasonably pricedObviously this location makes sense if you’re doing something at the University of Maryland However, it’s a very clean and professional outfit for anyone staying in the DC area in general

Everything was very clean The beds were comfy, and you were about a block or two from just about everything Everyone was very friendly and nice

I enjoyed watching the fireworks from the balcony I felt very secure in the building, and safe I was a little confused at first with how to enter the code to the main door I figured it out, but maybe a small informational guide would be nice I loved my stay here, and I would totally come back here the next time that I am in DC There was a little garden in the alley way behind the hostel that was quite pretty to view as well

Lance Russo

Let me start by saying I’ve stayed here in the past in my travels and loved it I’m also not aware if owner knows how his guests gets lied to by staff They canceled my reservations and charged my card ( they still have gave my money back

) All because they thought I was homeless I was embarrassed I live in Jersey and have a home there I love the artistic vibe here in DC and loving community I even joined a local non profit group there temperance alley because the community is wonderful For when I visit Just cause a man travels and has mental disorders like myself And chooses to explore all lives beauty Does not make him homeless They hurt my feeling so bad And it’s a shame cause I’m sure they didn’t realize just cause I’m different does not give them the right to discriminate The hostel is gorgeous but mistakes happen Besides calling me homeless and hurting my feeling so bad I cried The place is awesome I’m still waiting for owner to call me And my refund but the money isn’t the issue it’s my feelings that are the issue So if your different in any way or beat to your own drum or if your happy being you Do t go here they are not kind My name is Lance Russo I’m not happy about the discrimination and absurd comments made by staff The owner still has not called

Clarissa G

Stayed one night with a friend in the private two-bed room Check in was easy, room had everything we needed I do wish the bathroom was a little better enclosed (it had a glass wall all around but the glass was only frosted beginning partially up)

But the fact that they managed to fit so many amenities into the space so efficiently was very impressive Room was very clean Definitely would recommend to travelers on a budget Would visit again

This place is an unbelievably good deal The rooms are HUGE (be sure to ask for a tower room) It’s a bit of a drive from DC, but we plan on staying here any time we come back

This hotel offers an experience you typically don’t get unless you’re spending an additional $100-200 per night Be sure to walk to the town square in Rockville where you’ll find families with kids playing in the water park when the weather is warm Great hotel for families

Anonymous

The staff is very unfriendly we said hello and attempted to be friendly after making 8 hour trip with a baby But, They did not say hello or welcomed to the hotel

“keys, wifi, elevator to the left” is all they said we asked for a change to do laundry, and the staff refused There was no coffee in the morning, and 2 staff were talking to each other while guests were waiting for coffee Location and building are fine, but service is terrible

Mike Larrick

OK but quite expensive for the quality Rooms are clean and large, but not a lot to write home about No bath, only basic cable

They will charge you $20 for parking, which seems scammy They tell you they’ll validate parking but don’t mention they’ll charge you for it For a hotel on the outskirts of beltway suburbia, you’d think they would include that with the room I didn’t take a boat in Also they will send you spam emails and texts to sign up for their club

The Omni DC is a wonderful place to stay while visiting our nation’s Capital As a guest, It is not uncommon to run into our political leaders, or dignitaries, as many of them have meetings inside the hotel The old world charm of the hotel, is not lost to mismanagement, or poor upkeep

It’s truly one of a kind I would recommend this place to anyone It’s so close to so much, and has some of the most beautiful surrounding streets, large bridges, and enormous towering trees ; that so much of the city has lost with the rapid development The staff is also very knowledgeable, courteous, and will go out of their way to see you are enjoying your stay The rooms are spacious, and clean, there is a great little cafe, as well as a restaurant that serves very traditional breakfast My only complaint, would be that the magnet keys are very easily deprogrammed, so if you can take one piece of advice, don’t let your phone, or any other cards near your key card Lastly their is a plethora of good, inexpensive restaurants just a stones throw away, as well as a CVS and an exquisite liquor store, that offers a wide assortment of wine and spirits I could go on about this hotel, I suggest you just give it a visit yourself I almost forgot about the pool… Great way to relax and take in some of the natural beauty, while basking in the midday sun By

Staff was top notch My flight arrived early, with luggage I opted to go straight to hotel, the front desk was amazing Got me checked in early with a smile and a promise of getting me taken care of

The room was large and gorgeous, very clean, bed was super comfortable I walked the beautiful grounds, read outside and had a nice afternoon I was staying for a conference- all meeting spaces and meals were well done The staff was always right there when needed at any level From the doorman, concierge, front desk, housekeeping, wait staff, maintenance not one passed by without a friendly smile or a hello My stay was amazing, can’t wait to return

Michelle Olson

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at this hotel! Upon arrival we were met with a friendly greeting from the doormen Our bags were brought up by the bellman within 30 seconds of entering our room From that moment, every employee that we had contact with was friendly & helpful! David at the concierge desk had so much knowledge of the area & was able to get us a dinner reservation at a wonderful restaurant

The gym has a wide variety of machines The outdoor pool was clean & well maintained I also like that the hotel is right next to the trails at Rock Creek park, the Metro is a block away, the zoo is a three block walk (or $2 bus ride) & there are numerous restaurants to choose from a block away My only complaint would be that the bathroom counter was small but that is what you get in a historic hotel

Nice hotel Parking was free on weekends so if you are leaving on a weekend there’s no need to payEntry is a bit weird off the street but the security of this hotel is 5 stars

You need your keycard to get around Staff was nice as well Room was clean Like most hotels the bathroom could use some more attention but overall was very satisfied

Yanick Rochon

Rooms are okay The curtains still let light pass in the morning The extra bed had no blanket included so we had to order some (without charge but we specifically asked at check in but had to repeat request a second time)

Nothing else is included There is no swimming pool, no gym, no breakfast included, and a paid parking It’s disappointing for the price

NYCFLY

Convenient transportation, convenient shopping, quick check-in, considerate handmade chocolate cookies at the front desk, business center, easy access to computers, clean and tidy rooms But there is no matching pool and exercise equipment, the room does not have a microwave, parking is not ideal, there is paid parking and paid breakfastSo Check-in is recommended if parking and breakfast are not required

The Maldonado’s

Great location and amenities Morton’s is one of my favorites, and they are located in many nice hotels like this one Make sure you visit on the evening

Our tour had breakfast arrangements, missed the eggs on the last two mornings of the trip To their credit, staff was kind, attentive and accommodating Starbucks in the house too (for those Cafe lovers like us) Safe “business” area, and parking is just around the corner Modern feel with plenty to do around the hotel

Eva S

It’s a good business hotel, quiet standard, could be any brand really Pros and cons below:PROS:Large spacious room with nice expansive views onto the main street, gets good light during the day Comfy bed

There’s a desk to work at if need be Nice staff at the hotel, very accommodating and caring Very clean, good observation of covid rules etc Food served during the event was good too, tasty, good temperature- I recommend the current kitchen staff can certainly cater for breakfast tooAreas to IMPROVE:No breakfast, no pool/spa; the air in the hotel was so dry most event delegates were complaining about difficulty to sleep at night, myself included – I strongly recommend to get lots and lots of green plants, maybe install some air humidifiers for the winter months The shower head was full of limescale – need to check those details and replace Maybe add a picture(s) in the room, some softer interior details – interior now looks so sterile, plain

Mitch Grussing

We visited DC for leisure, and we felt that this hotel was the perfect balance of convenience, comfort, and value Driving in from out of town, it was easy to get to this hotel by car, and the Metro stop made it easy to get to all the big sights around the capital Our rooms were clean and nice, and the bed was comfortable

Yes, you have to pay for breakfast here, but there are tons of options nearby, including several in the lobby I was perfectly happy with Starbucks and Dunkin; my husband and his parents sought fancier eats in the morning The only bummer was that there’s no pool and hot tub But still I’d give the place a full five stars because we were truly satisfied with this hotel

Perfect location for a couples getaway The Oaks is in a quiet neighborhood but also fairly close to shopping and entertainment areas Breakfast was really nice – 5 star meal! The owner was very personable and provided anything we needed

Nothing better than having a wine and cheese “Happy Hour” right downstairs from our room We really enjoyed our stay!

Nestled in a beautiful neighborhood, The Oaks Bed and Breakfast doesn’t loom large over the other homes around it When you see it, you’d think it was just one of the many single homes in the area The overall lay out of The Oaks was perfect

The hosts Sharon and Quinton were fantastic, pleasant and very helpful! The entry way is very inviting and we were met with beautiful music when we entered The dining room, living room and sitting room are uniquely decorated and felt like homeI love that each bedroom has a theme and an en-suite bathroom I slept in the Zinfandel Room and found it be calming with a very comfortable bed It was well equipped with all of your needs and spotlessThe outdoor space is great! My favorite was the rooftop deck where I was able to enjoy the sun during the day and the moon and clouds at night The outdoor space in the back is a great place to hold a number of any intimate gatheringsI will end with the breakfast prepared by the hosts It was cooked with love! It was beautiful displayed in the dining room and we had a wide variety of food and beverages to choose fromIt was a great relaxing weekend getaway and I look forward to visiting again!

Good experience and a good price Satisfied customer I stayed here one weeknight in January 2022

Online I got a AAA rate of $80 for the room ($90 total), which is a great price, and the room was good The lobby is very attractive I did not see the pool during my stay My room had mini fridge and in-room coffee, but no microwave TV and bathroom were good so I have no complaints about the room The only drawback is the lack of free breakfast I had forgotten that one of the main concepts of Courtyard hotels is that breakfast is not included There is a full-service breakfast and lunch restaurant located in a high-rise building across the street, and it’s quite decent and without super high prices Overall I was pleased with my choice for this one-night stay near Washington DC

Kelly Rittenberry

We asked if there is a cot available because my teenage son is now over 6 foot I guess we’re getting to the point where our kids want their own beds They did not have a cot available but Brianna at the front desk suggested an upgrade to a 2 room suite at no cost

I recommend finding a hotel Staff was friendly, and the pictures are nice, but they do not accurately represent the current condition of the hotelMy husband and I travel a lot, and this is probably one of our least liked locations

1 When we arrived, we paid for and reserved a king size bed and was also hoping to be placed in one of the rooms that was renovated We were placed in a pretty creepy room with two full size beds that were not big enough for us Room was reserved in advance and should have been held, especially being a rewards member Additionally, as reward member one of the perks is being eligible for an upgrade but that was not offered to us either2 We had to be moved to another room which was a big inconvenience of having to pack things back up to change rooms3 We waited over 14 hours waiting on towels after requesting 3-4 times4 The coffee isn’t courtesy, which is fine Okay, I paid for coffee each day But what I wasn’t happy with is the fact that one day in particular I asked for a refill and was quickly shut down (after paying) Cool, I understand that is policy But get this my husband later wakes up and comes down and was offered (and given) a free cup of coffee (which he gave to me) Although, I received the benefit it was still disappointing to see that type of service take place after I paid and was turned down when asking for a refill That truly did not make sense to meAnyhow, many contributing factors as to why we would not stay here again when visiting family Choose wisely

I stayed here for just one night on a business trip and had a lovely experience Beautiful room and location In the heart of the city close to many food options

Staff were friendly, warm, and welcoming I cannot comment on pricing as my room was paid for but it was an excellent stay Loved my room and felt so relaxed! Would love to come back! Special thank you to Femi, a receptionist who was very accommodating at check in and check out

The hotel lobby was clean, the staff were nice, and the location was good Not super impressed for the price No amenities really

I had to request a fridge in my room so to accommodate that they put me in a handicap room I’m six feet tall and everything was super low so it wasn’t ideal The heated floors in the bathroom didn’t work The valet took a little too long so I tried not to use my car The gym and the rooms are pretty small I don’t think this is a desirable hotel but it’s nice

Hotel was great and staff was friendly John was quick to greet us for the valet We left for dinner and came back to a tidy room

We stopped into the bar (the Doyle) stayed for one drink, service was very slow but they were busy and we were content and atmosphere was nice Drink was excellent Hotel claimed to have 24hr room service We called a little before midnight for a bottle of Prosecco (listed on their room service menu) only to be told they don’t do that and to call the Doyle (their bar that was closing in 2 minutes, didn’t get through) Overall fine experience but disappointed in advertised room service When paying for amenities, I like to get what I paid for

The perfect hostel Staff was very nice, rooms and bathrooms were very clean Kitchen was well equiped and clean

We played cool games organized by the staff on saturday night which made it easier to meet new peopleThat said, it’s quite far from the national mall but there are plenty of buses close to the hostel so it is actually fine There are also plenty of bars and restaurants near it, since it’s in Adams Morgan neighborhoodI really enjoyed my stay here and I would definitely recommend it

Decent hotel The lobby is really flashy, unfortunately the rooms are quite dated, and mine had a weird smell The shower had some mildew on the floor, and of course the room had an old carpet on the floor as most hotels do

At least the rooms were bigThe on site restaurant had a decent selection of food and beverages, I had the salmon for dinner and it was pretty good I also had breakfast in the restaurant and they did not have the buffet set up, I ordered parfait with granola and fruit and it was good! Main gripe was that they charged for coffee and juice, and quite a lot, so the whole ticket got quite expensive for a really simple breakfast The executive lounge was closed too which was a bit if a bummerOverall it was a decent stay, definitely stayed in worse hotels

Our stay at the hotel was extremely disappointing On the first night, there was continuous noise until 1am Part of that noise was the hotel staff loudly opening and closing doors up and down our hallway and running a vacuum cleaner which they also carelessly slammed into the door/wall outside our room

When we asked the staff member with vacuum to stop, he refused Part of the noise was rowdy activity in the hallway, which the staff did nothing about despite multiple requests Even later in the week, young people were running around and yelling in the hallways because there is no atmosphere of civility or control by the staff It was very disruptiveOur stay was also disappointing because basic amenities were broken, unavailable, or held at cost For example, the convenient location next to the metro was spoiled because upon return, the door back into the hotel was locked and the card key access was not operational We asked to use a microwave and were told that it would be a $10 extra charge – really? At the price we were spending – which did not even include any room cleaning – it is insulting to me that you’d try to milk even more money out of us for something that could have been set up and finished in 5 minutesConsidering the hotel itself was responsible for these disappointing factors in our stay, I regret paying for the room and don’t think it will be a good idea to return, even though I plan to return to Rockville many times in the future

This is a conference hotel but it’s also perfect for business travelers Things I loved: super fast elevator, simple interior parking, Starbucks, great bartender and kind front desk people, good work space in the room (huge desk chair), fabulous pillows, every store you need within walking distance, close to DC, AND across the street from a metro stop and regular sized grocery store (Safeway!) My FAVORITE thing? It was So

Quiet!!! Slept great!
