Smarter Life

The Hampton Inn in Kingston is a very nice location for sure I really enjoyed the cleanliness of my room each day and all of the amenities within my room kept me going for the entire week I was there The women at the front desk were super accommodating and very friendly each and every time I came in for the night

The hot breakfast, yogurt and fresh fruit each morning was a huge bonus! The gentleman that prepared our breakfasts each and every day was super friendly and very nice and pleasant to talk with I did not get a chance to swim in the pool but everything in the area looked very clean, as well as the workout area The location to stores and restaurants is super convenient and I would highly recommend staying at this location if only to try it once

Front desk staff was very welcoming Room & bathroom were very clean, the bed & pillows were comfy, and the TV was nice The room was very quiet, even with a busy freight rail line 100-200 yards away; I barely heard the trains

even as a train buff, it was nice to not be woken up at 2 AM Continental breakfast the next morning was excellent & offered a great selection Even the coffee was top notch I look forward to coming back

holly raskoskie

Staff very friendly Big room smelled great fresh and clean Bathroom good size huge shower with message head

Whirlpool tub in room was nice big enough for two Bed seemed new little firm for me but comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep Very quiet except for around 7:30am Breakfast was standard hotel food but on the better side with blueberry waffles and a ton of toppings Bigalow teas and coffee in lobby and little bags of travel fuel didn’t get one so not sure what’s in it Didn’t use pool looked nicely set up and clean Over all very nice will stay again

2 Bedroom SuiteWe heard really good things about the Hotel Tivoli, which is really a bed & breakfast Our experience is probably different than most others We needed 2 rooms and that wasn’t available

But they did have a 2 bedroom suite in the adjacent building At least we didn’t have to worry about any late noise from a downstairs bar/restaurant But the suite only had one wall AC unit which made it very difficult to cool all the rooms Bedrooms doors had to be left open to get the cool air A benefit of the suite is that it has a very nice sitting room Unfortunately, the furniture (as seems to be in all the rooms) was more about art than function The couch was really uncomfortable On the plus side, the breakfast each morning was really good I enjoyed the hotel for the weekend, but I would probably stay some place else on a future visit

Clean room and comfy bed Service is a bit crude if not rude Nice place to stay if you have a car and will drive to other locations for meals

I literally asked for a boiled egg on my second day after having sunny side eggs the first morning and was told the chef can only make scrambled or fried eggslol so many things to unpack there but clearly service was to blame and not the chef Cute location and deck Chose to go out to Rhinebeck and Woodstock for dinner as options were better and service was included There are other similar locations in the surrounding areas I can support so will try a different location next time as we stay in the area at least three to four times a year

Kenneth Novenstern

My Wife and I, and our mini-poodle, just returned from a weekend at HT What a relaxing few days And all of the staff made great efforts to meet every one of our needs, from the food and water dishes for our dog, to refrigerating his food, to breakfasts and the full cup of coffee for my Wife carried up to our room the last morning

And the room was wonderful too, eg bed, pillows, shower Almost hesitate to share how great this stay was

The views here are absolutely breathtaking I stayed in the Mombacus room, and it was so nice to wake up to the sunlight peering over the mountains If the weather is nice, there’s lots of chairs outside where you can take everything in

There’s no TV in the room, but there’s one in the game room located in the lower floors There’s also wifi if you want to stream something The main area was also beautiful: lots of artwork and statues that add a very elegant touch to the placeThe breakfast was great, and I think the French toast was excellent Service was definitely 5 starsThis place is dog friendly and my little guy loved walking around and seeing everything Can’t wait to be back!

We were originally slated to get married at Onteora in Aug 2020, and eventually had our wedding there in Aug 2021 Through the nearly two (tumultuous) years as we postponed and then planned and had a wedding during the pandemic, there were many many many times we felt beyond thankful to have chosen OnteoraBob and Jeremy were amazing

We were so thankful to have practical, honest, down to earth individuals who answered a zillion of our questions, offering their helpful advice (often with a humorous twist) from decades of weddings, and making all kinds of accommodations to make our wedding perfect (Jeremy even arranged for awesome apples from his farm stand for our welcome bags)We and our guests had an amazing time – everything was gorgeous, smooth and delicious Some of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and that some of the appetizers were the best wedding food they had ever had It’s a beautiful place, and we’re already excited to try to return to the B&B for anniversaries (We stayed at Onteora for the tasting weekend and a few extra nights before/after the wedding – highly recommended)Thank you Bob and Jeremy!

The house of my dreams The entire property (house and gardens) are a pleasure to explore In October the gardens were teeming with mushrooms and walking around felt like being in a cross between a forest and a farmers’ market

The North Dome room was spacious, sunny, and had great views of the mountains There is great food in the area a few miles away, and quite a few hikes a bit further out, plus an easy long walk along the neighboring lake The owner stayed out of the way and was pretty reserved, but I imagine it’s a tiring job with so many people coming around

We had a lovely stay at this inn over Memorial Day weekend It is ideally located only a 5-10 minute walk from Tinker Street but feels so peaceful and secluded Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfy

The inn was fully booked but it was very quiet at night and so nice to listen to the sound of the water right outside the room Breakfast and midday snacks were a nice surprise as we thought they were not offering that because of COVID We had such a pleasant stay we already booked a return

One Key Realty

We showed up with no reservation, we were greeted by an amazing person, who provided us with lodging for the night We had a queen bed over looking the water, it was quant cozy and an amazing experience It reminded me of my childhood days when my parents would take us up to a bungalow colony a little bit further south then here

The accommodations were amazing, the water front and the waterfalls had such an amazing sound Breakfast in the morning was super fresh, super easy and most enjoyable My wife and i only spent 1 night there and we enjoyed it so much, that we are going back, with a reservation, and we are flying from Miami just to go back and spend a few days enjoying nature at its finest We had one of the best nights of our 10 day vacation driving NY state, and this place was one place that, yes, we should have stayed more then what we did So we are going back, no more regrets in our lives Live and enjoy, the people in the town were so friendly to add to it Come unwind and relax at a favorite memory of mine and ours with my wife

Our lovely cottage in Woodstock was the perfect get away from the city Peacefully nestled in the woods is just what we needed The spacious 2/2 cottage is big enough for four people to comfortably spread out and relax

The large veranda on the creek is the perfect spot to enjoy the fresh air, birds chirping, water streaming and deer grazing The town of Woodstock is friendly and picturesque with plenty of dining options If your looking for an easy drive outside of the city, give Woodstock a visit

We had the most magical stay at Woodstock Way when we eloped there in December 2021 Victoria and crew could not have been more welcoming or wonderful:) Our Waterfall suite was the PERFECT place to stay Perfect Catskills-inspired decor

Soft, comfy beds and bedding The tiles in the bathroom alone were so exquisite, I took pictures so we could copy them for ourselves Every tiny touch and detail was chic and useful The lattes in the lodge are divine The sofa was like a cloud The roaring fires on the porch at night are an event unto themselves But waking up and falling asleep to the sound of a gently tumbling waterfall was probably the best part of all It’s amazing to think that a location in the middle of downtown Woodstock feels like a private, resort oasis

Gordon MacDonald

My first trip to Woodstock, NY We stayed at Woodstock Way hotel This place was top notch (yet laid back): the staff, the location, the beds, the record players and vinyl in the room (nice spectrum of music styles) the coffee in the morning, the view of the waterfall, and more (!) If you are planning a trip to Woodstock, NY this is a great place to stay

Located in the center of town Walking distance to all food, drink, live music, all types of shops If you want to take a car ride there is plenty to see and do along both sides of the Hudson River and the Catskills When you get back to Woodstock Way there is a parking spot just for you Go to your room, grab a cold drink from the fridge in your room and sit on the deck outside your sitting area Listen to the quiet Highly recommend!

Bhuma K

This was a completely lovely experience and worth every penny The hotel “room” was more like a studio It was enormous

I was in a tannery suite and a half of the studio is windows looking at the waterfall, so it is absolutely stunning Because it’s newer buildings, everything is shiny and new and the walls and windows are well-built and well insulated Aka not buggy The hotel staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and the hotel has its own signature bath and body scent which is quite delightful and you can buy in the reception area I strongly recommend staying here

This is a quaintly beautiful B&B with friendly, loving dogs, several horses, at least a dozen chickens, a mule and a terrific hostess (Maggie) We stayed there last week and had such a nice time The breakfast is plentiful and delicious

There are freshly baked goodies available 24/7 Maggie goes out of her way to make sure you enjoy your stay Highly recommended

Izabella Rivera

The farm had been the most relaxing part of our trip through up state New York and I felt very at home the whole time Maggie graciously kept our plates full in the mornings with fresh eggs from the various wondering chickens of the farm and had plenty of sweets for us when we return from out outings She gave us great information about the towns events and other sights we could venture to

The front deck is perfect for having a glass of wine under the stars and moon and doubles as a great reading/writing spotI’ll most definitely be looking forward to the day we can return

Ann Larios

Whistlewood Farm is beautiful and very relaxing Maggie, the owner, greeted us as soon as we arrived with iced tea, pies and homemade banana bread All of the rooms are beautiful and comfortable

We stayed in the Juniper room with a private outdoor deck looking out the the birds, wildflowers and woods in the back of the house The breakfasts are delicious with so much food: farm fresh eggs with vegetables and herbs every morning with a side of bacon or sausage and French toast, pancakes, or waffles, and even fresh baked muffins or biscuits Every morning, we got to feed the leftover vegetable scrapes to the Donkey and chickens We also enjoyed petting the two big friendly dogs: Pearl and Sam There is so much to do in Rhinebeck too We hiked, visited a winery, went to the Rhinebeck Performing arts Center to see an outdoor performance and enjoyed the shops and restaurants in Rhinebeck Maggie gave us great recommendations for dinner We thoroughly enjoyed our three days there

This review is long overdue but my husband and I got married last July at Hasbrouck House and had the most amazing wedding weekend we ever could have imagined We cannot thank Kayleigh and the team enough for all their hard work and also their willingness to work with us and rescheduling twice due to Covid We have stayed at Hasbrouck now multiple times and have absolutely loved it each and every time

The hotel is gorgeous and the staff is amazing! Shout out to Mauricio! We can’t wait to go back!

K Fraser

My wife and I spent 2 nights celebrating our first anniversary The room was clean and spacious The staff was very nice and attentive

The food at the onsite restaurant was delicious We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility as well as the game room in the basement We could have played pool or the classic video games like Frogger or Mr Do all night We are definitely looking forward to our next trip

Madeline Montgomery

We stayed for a weekend in winter and had a wonderful time Even though the weather was gloomy, we were able to occupy ourselves in the game room with darts, pool, and arcade games, chill by the fire with board games and wine, and enjoy the remarkable restaurant in the evening and breakfast spread in morning We loved being able to walk to the lake and enjoy the nightly bonfire

The staff made us feel welcome and provided us with every need – smores kits, a flower vase, glasses for wine – you name it I would highly recommend visiting and can’t wait to go back!

I went for an event, Diamond Mills did not live up to expectations, and worse it fell far short of the prices being charged The space is beautiful and well maintained, well set-up The staff, while very helpful and friendly seemed poorly trained and under qualified

The bar at the event was understocked, missing some key basic spirits and thus unable to make nearly every simple and standard drink I tried to order They couldn’t even make a Manhattan! The bartender seemed puzzled and a bit confused when I asked for any drink more complex than a rum and coke and when the drinks I wanted weren’t available was utterly and completely unable to steer me towards a different drink she could make The appetizers that were passed around were good, with some even reaching to excellent, my biggest regret was not eating more of them, as the buffet dinner left much to be desired The food looked unattractive to downright bad And the selection of options was not appealing I will admit the food tasted better than it looked, but that’s not much of a complement All of the food lacked seasoning and was on the bland side The chicken was dry, and flavorless, served with a congealed block of cheese The rice was severely undercooked, and while the flavor may have been good, it was hard to tell considering how crunchy it was There was a vegetable lasagna that looked like complete slop, but did taste surprisingly good, despite the copious amount of cooled and congealed cheese The one truly good thing on the buffet was the roasted carrots, which were so good they were tempting me to try to track down the recipe Dessert was excellent, which, I suspect, is due to it being brought in from someplace else

Kim Farrar

The hotel is beautiful The bathroom has an additional sink and dressing area which is great if traveling with a friend or children The view is outstanding

This was our second stay here and it really makes any trip to the area relaxing and great The Saugerties business district with its great restaurants and funky shops is a short walk Treat yourself and stay at The Diamond Mills hotel

This was our third stay at Diamond Mills Hotel and each one has been a happy and enjoyable experience The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated , has a tranquil waterside location and is maintained and run on a five star level Once again all at the hotel , manager Gina , assistant manager Sylvia , the front desk and housekeeping staff made sure all was well during our stay and were a pleasure to be around

Looking forward to our next visit Patty & Peter S

My room was over $300 a night- I was told this was a discounted price for guests of a wedding I was to attend (the hotel clerk told me it was normally $400) I made the reservation and assumed that I would be staying in a luxury hotel for that price It was far from that! The bathroom sink did not drain properly

The tub stopper was completely out of the tub The door to the cabinet that held the refrigerator would not stay closed I felt like I was staying in a cheap motel Little nice simple touches that most nice hotels provide were non-existent While there was breakfast, you could not get a cup of coffee even one minute past 10:00 when breakfast was over The more expensive hotels where I’ve stayed (for even less night than this place) had coffee and flavored water out all day for guests This place had nothing!!!~ I don’t mind paying if I get what I paid for Truthfully, while the lobby and pool areas were pleasant, the rest felt dirty Find someplace else to stay!!!!!

Joshua Lurie

Hotel was nice Staff were very nice and accommodating Rooms were good aside for a couple of things

Technology really ought to be upgraded and as for the bathrooms, the vanity part seemed to have been updated however the rest of the bathroom (tiles, toilet, everything about the bath and shower) seemed to be living in the 90’s Biggest per peeve is clogged bathtub drains and unfortunately did not disappoint Would love to see these places invest in the bathrooms rather than the hallways and lobby

My husband & I had a wonderful stay at Hutton Brickyards to celebrate our anniversary As two people who enjoy being outside but are not exactly “outdoorsy” it was the perfect combination of nature and creature comforts The views from our cabin were beautiful with a view of the Hudson through the trees

The property was very peaceful, a great vibe for escaping the city If you’re looking for total seclusion, I would probably look elsewhere as you’re still pretty close to the other guests, but that didn’t bother us a bit and the cabins are very private The cabin was lovely and cozy – easily the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on! The staff was very friendly and helpful We spent a lot of our visit exploring Kingston and Woodstock, so we didn’t get a chance to enjoy some of the on-site amenities like the spa or restaurant, but considering the rest of our stay I’m sure they’re worthwhile

Ellen Meiner

A beautiful property right on the Hudson with well appointed private cabins A relaxing retreat with exceptional service Lots to do in the area including delicious food and hikes both leisurely and challenging

The restaurant on the premises is terrific Highly recommend The management team’s focus is to ensure every guests’ needs are met They succeeded! Can’t wait to come back!

Mallory Angeles

We LOVED staying here! The little cabins were adorable and modern Great views and greater customer service Simon and Susie made the stay even more pleasant with how accommodating and attentive they were

We took advantage of the on site amenities (sunrise yoga and archery) on our last day which was a perfect way to end the stay there I can’t wait to go back!!! Looking forward to what Hutton Brickyards offers during the summer season!

I knew this place was rustic, but

The wind was blowing though the gaps on the door to the balcony and unfortunately it was very cold that week Made for an uncomfortable stay We were on the second floor and the guest on the third floor sounded like an elephant was up there, very noisy Bar was only open a few hours, but the service in the bar was very good I would recommend summer visits, not fall

Thomas Bogue

The Rhinecliff Hotel hosted our wedding in July Thank you Amy, James, Nicole and the entire staff at the Rhinecliff Hotel, you were all amazing We appreciate all of your hard work

Our day was better than we could have ever hoped for! The food was awesome The rooms are clean, spacious and have a great view of the Hudson River with a back drop of the Catskill Mountains I highly recommend The Rhinecliff Hotel

Ross Cluver

Historic Hotel with beautiful river views The trains can be noisy but are barely noticeable with windows and doors closed The included breakfast was also excellent

However, the AC and whirlpool tub were both broken during our stay, meaning we had to sleep with the doors open, and were woken by every passing train While management had prewarned us about the AC and offered to refund us part of the cost on discovery of the broken tub, once we had left the property no refund was processed Management did not respond to emails or calls While our stay was 6 months ago, we eventually gave up on the refund

I booked a 7-day stay and was assured housekeeping services every other day Day 4 and I’ve resorted to leaving used towels and garbage bins in halls to receive some service Today we got two rolls of toilet paper

No vacuuming, refreshing, bed making As it’s a pet friendly hotel the dog smell is becoming unpleasant Unfortunately, I can’t find another hotel due to local activities One star is for room layout, bed, kitchenette and nice sized bath

Rooms are clean and newer but services are dropping The “breakfast” is a joke They should just shut it down at this point

No eggs or meat any longer Everything else looked unappetizing so I skipped it The dog fee is now $100 Not sure if that’s per night or per stay but feel like it’s too much for a budget hotel located next to a broken down sad mall and in a Target parking lot

The hotel is quite new and rooms are in a great condition Nice lighting in the room Table lamp has charging ports and even an international power adapter

Breakfast was plentiful We stayed for 2 days There were different hot dishes available on these 2 days And of course the usual assortment of cereal, yogurt, breakfast pastries and so on I’d say fruit selection was unimpressive and there was no simple bread, though

I have stayed at this hotel several times and will stay there again It’s clean, modern and convenient for my purposes For the most part the staff is pleasant

I had trouble though getting housekeeping services (even though I requested for it) and when I called the front desk about just getting towels, I got quite an attitude and was asked to come and pick them up myself from the front desk This is not ok when your paying over $300 per night for a room!

Big kudos to Ramona! She made my stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you for the recommendations and for being generally sweet 😀I heard the train, mentioned in other reviews, while unpacking my car I never heard it during the nightBed was super comfy

My (king) room did have a microwave and fridge Maybe only some rooms are equipped

Clean ? Yes Quiet? Yes Other than that ? No

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at No microwave, nor refrigerator in the rooms as it was supposed to be according to my online reservation, and when I asked the receptionist, she said “we don’t offer that, you can check out but you will be charged still” I travel for work and I’ve been staying at hotels most of my week days but I’ve never seen worst than this one Not mentioning “the Fittnes room” 🫣🤣

This hotel has been the best staff we have encountered All the front desk staff is taking good care of my mom We brought her from MA to Kingston NY to vacation with my brother and his family, but they arrive later today

Our schedule allowed us to drive her a day earlier She is under the care of the wonderful management, the breakfast bistro crew and special mention to Zachary last night and most specialy to Jamie Basilotta for helping my mom since she has had terrible allergies and cough Thank you very much to you all!

What a treasure We had such a great time Yes, you’re going to pay a lot for either a day (not hiking) pass, or an overnight, but you will get your money’s worth

She did a spa treatment and raved about it We walked the grounds and house for a good portion of the day The lake was enjoyable, we even found paths that were rarely taken that lead to spectacular views The main dining was nice, good food and better views Exceptional staff Will definitely be doing this again

This historical place is absolutely beautiful I Immediately felt welcomed The scenery is breathtaking! I was so impressed with this place

Very thought out hiking/walking trails for all levels The handmade wood carved covered seats all over the property with their own unique characteristics and outdoor porches with rocking chairs overlooking the lake was so serene Thank you Mohawk and the wonderful staff for making my stay and much needed relaxation a reality Look forward to coming back

This is a special place to many and while the costs can break a budget, you certainly get the value The activities around the campus (all included) both winter and summer are fun and enjoyable! Best of all, the food is amazing! For some this is an annual retreat, for others it’s a nice gift For all, it’s a great place!Only complaint is some services, delivery of wood and checking in took significantly longer then expected

We rented The Forsyth B&B Inn & Barn for our wedding weekend from Thursday until Sunday We wanted a space big enough for both of our immediate families to stay together for the duration of the weekend This spot was absolutely perfect

The interior decor is very tastefully done, and goes so well with the existing charm of the space The artwork selection is fabulous, and there is so much attention to detail that you can’t help but appreciate every nook and corner in this space All of the rooms and bathrooms were very spacious, and the outdoor spaces (porch and back patio) were an added bonus We held our intimate ceremony in the barn, which even without any added decor was a perfect backdrop for it The barn has a sound system, a bar setup, bathroom, and loft (which we used as the groom’s getting ready space), and it was absolutely perfect The barn doors open to the street which along with the skylight provided wonderful natural lighting We also held a post wedding brunch the day after in the barn Tamara catered this brunch, and WOW, the food was incredible! The quiche, scones, pastries, salad, and everything that Tamara prepared was absolutely delicious, and our guests were all raving about the food The brunch was also set up beautifully with very sweet labels and tiered displays From the initial contact throughout the weekend of our wedding, Tamara was so kind, very accommodating, answered any and all questions, and made our wedding weekend even more spectacular We are so happy that we found the Forsyth B&B, as it was the perfect setting for this special occasion Many, many thanks! Highly recommend!

Tamara’s B&B up in Kingston, NY was so charming and had so much character The soft jazz that was playing after we self checked into the inn was inviting as well as the atmosphere of the space The room we stayed in was beautiful, the ceiling was slanted with wood beams and the bathroom had the cutest wallpaper

The backyard and front porch were inviting and we actually ate our breakfast in both spaces during our stay Speaking of breakfast wow, Tamara outdoes herself with her cooking My friend had a nut and fish allergy and she was able to cater to her and create a separate breakfast to fit her allergy Every dish we had was delicious from salmon to vegetable egg quiche and breakfast quesadillas She was very kind and hospitable during the entire stay The location is great because it is near the Hudson River and just under 2 hours from the cityThanks again for the lovely stay, I’ll definitely be recommending the Forsyth to anyone looking for a quick getaway up in the Hudson Valley!
