Being a Hilton Diamond Member, I stay at many Hampton Inns This one by far is the best Very happy with the great guest service

There were several people working which is rare to see, and all friendly The outside and inside were both very clean Breakfast was amazing and not your standard The story behind the hotel is really incredible! There was a logistical snag with our room (one king instead of 2 queens) but the fixed it right away Great place!!

Did a long trip recently Stayed in a lot of hotels along the way Tried this one for our last night on the road

Such a great stay The staff was nice Everything was clean The room was cozy and quiet The bed was comfortable Good water pressure in the shower Breakfast was good Had to stand to eat just because of the amount of people already there Wonderful view Would stay again

Love this hotel Stopped here on a road trip one year and really enjoyed watching the sunset over the mountains My kids always want to stop here now

The morning in my picture was very foggy Behind that fog there are beautiful mountain views you can enjoy sitting in swings or rocking chairs on the property The staff has always been friendly and helpful The rooms are clean and comfortable

Stayed 5/20/2022 Old, but decent place to stay Lots of updates done to the room and pretty clean

King bed was a little too hard We were disappointed to learn that they were not serving breakfast, even though all info on Choice Hotels website said it was included I feel we should have been given a discount or more points for the stay They still had the doors to the lobby locked up so all communication was through a window Traveling from NE Ohio to Central FL and back, this was the only hotel we encountered doing this Masks were used at other locations, but not locked down & all served some sort of breakfast or snacks It was rather noisy but I since it was a Friday night, we should have expected that We both had our ear plugs to help quiet things down Lastly, internet was not working

Anthony Herring

I give it 4 stars just to even out the other really low reviews I think this hotel is truthfully a very solid 3 out of 5 The area and the other people staying at the hotel seemed a bit sketchy so be careful about that

Room was a bit dated, but overall clean Shower was also dated, but surprisingly very clean, worked great no real complaints No breakfast due to covid apparently At the end of the day, this is a cheap hotel It will do what you need it to Do not expect this place to compare to the Hampton But it’s a good bang for the buck, for sure

Terry Tallent

My mother stayed here at this hotel on May 21st no problems with her dog which is a lab The hotel says pet friendly but in the description no where does it say how big of a dog Anyways they let her stay on the 21st no problems

Today on the 6/6 They refused her to stay but would not give her a refund She’s traveling from Arkansas to Delaware Now she don’t have the money to stay elsewhere

Absolutely loved staying here The outside does look older but the inside is very very clean I stayed here for 2 months as a travel nurse and have stayed in many hotels

This one was so cozy and comfy especially when it rained The owners were extremely sweet and always accommodating Cove lake state park is less then 5 minutes away and it is gorgeous Me and my little dog loved everything about Caryville, TN As a travel nurse by myself I never felt unsafe here I never had any issues with pests either The store right across the street has great BBQ too! I would definitely stay here again if needed

patty whipple

I read the reviews before I stayed here I have to say, I didn’t see any of the negative stuff I read The property was clean and neat on the outside

There are small stores close by, which was really convenient A beautiful park called Cove Lake Park 2 minutes away with a waterfall hike called Devil’s Racetrack that was absolutely stunning The staff went above and beyond of any place I’ve stayed, especially for the modest price of our room We were hours late, he waited for us Brought us bottled water for our fridge in case we didn’t have any for our dog as it was too late to go get anything Our room was cleaned daily and done well We felt safe I would stay here again without hesitation

We spent a week at Loyston Point in a cabin We had a great time, the cabin was perfect for us It was so clean, and more spacious than we expected

The little fridge and shelves worked just great for our food items The staff is super friendly and caring They are so helpful, and willing to give a hand with anything If we had one thing we would improve on, it would be bathroom facilities a little closer to the cabins Speaking about the bathrooms, they were remarkably clean as well! We would definitely come back for another visit

Debbie Headrick (Debhead0218)

This is a gorgeous campground right on the lake The campsites are so nice and clean and the views are incredible The restrooms are the cleanest I have ever seen in a campground! The day use area has a lovely, roped-off swimming area with a sandy beach

There are kayaks and paddle boards for rent at a very reasonable price We will definitely be back again!

Paula Maleport

This is beautiful TVA campground on Norris Lake The campsites are roomy with electric and water hook up and the shower house is clean and well maintained We found the campground hosts and manager very friendly, helpful and always available

There is large, all concrete boat launch next to the campground and you can launch your kayaks right from the beach at the campground There are also small rustic cabins to rentWe really enjoyed our stay here, although it was quite cool the last week of March Say hi to hosts Bryan and Melissa and tell them I sent you

We usually have a good time at this marina The food is decent, drinks are good and music is usually so much fun Their menu prices have gone way up, but we guess that’s due to inflation? However, the band last weekend was not Lake music

It was instrumental jazz style music…better suited for a fancy dinner party than a fun atmosphere after a day on the lake We’ve never complained before but we had no clue why they changed this up so much from what they usually had and we talked to several others who felt the same Those who stayed only did so because they needed dinner and didn’t have another choice Disappointed that the entertainment was so bad for a holiday weekend

T Shafer II

Spots are tiny As in our awning was almost touching the neighbors slide Bring a fire ring if you want to have a fire

If your goal is to camp, goto the lake It’s greatPool is nice, marina is nice too Especially after the upgradesThe staff we met were exceptional

Thank you, Craig and Krista, for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home this past memorial weekend The house is beautiful, and the location doesn’t get any better With that being said, this rental comes with a great lack of trust and poor judgement between the owners and management

Within two minutes of being at the great escape, Kim (the house manager) barged her way into the house condemning us of acts we did not commit based on our appearances Also, we received a call from Craig that the neighbors reported underage kids unloading alcohol into the great escape within ten minutes of us being there While we found this amusing and flattering this was obviously not the case considering most of us residing at the great escape had some sort of Masters or Doctorate making us considerably older than the age of 21 This we found minor until the neighbors sent over their 17 year old son to drink with us showing how hypocritical their first complaint was After sending the neighbor back home explaining that we would not illegally provide alcohol to a minor, things seemed to be fine with the neighbors the rest of the trip The rest of the trip seemed to be fine with the occasional visit and beratement from Kim until check out We all got up at 8 am to clean for four hours before check-out at noon Craig and Krista require you to pay a $400 cleaning fee to prepare the house for the next group This seemed reasonable considering the size of the house Therefore, we cleaned up and followed their check-out instructions diligently checking each room to make sure it was up to their check-out standards I personally kept my room clean enough that it appeared that no one had even stayed there just to prove that we not who they judged us to be when we first arrived Upon review from the owner, Craig said that my room specifically had vomit all over the shower (which I did not use in order to keep the room as nice as it was when we arrived) and that my comforter needed replaced, along with a couple others, due to vomit as well This I found not to be the case considering a number of our guest did not get the memo of putting the sheets on the ground and leaving the comforter on the bed and therefore, I personally separated all linen and found there to be no vomit in any of the comforters Also, we were told that another group was coming in at 5 pm and therefore a strict 12 pm check-out was necessary but, the cleaning crew had to clean for 8 hours after we left according to the owner This then told us that the cleaning crew had to be cleaning for 3 hours while the new group was settling in which I find hard to believe Pictures were also requested from the cleaning crew with regards to the vomit but, in those 8 hours of cleaning they must not have had the time to take a couple of pictures for the owner When we brought all of this to the attention of the owner/manager, we were quickly discredited and told that we had too many people there from the beginning (we had 19 and the ad said the house sleeps 28) With all of the criticism and judgement that our group faced I would say this place if great for a small family to stay at with individuals that appear to be over the age of 50 Also, before confirming dates to vacation here, confirm with the owner that the neighbors will not be present, so you don’t want to worry about underage children coming over for drinks Lastly, take lots of pictures of the house before leaving The cleaning crew/Kim seems to be running some sort of scam and the owner does not seem to trust anyone other than them Thank you again Craig and Krista for allowing us to stay but, in the future if there are certain types of people you don’t want or trust at your house then you should be up front with those guests I have never felt more judged and criticized based off of my looks during such a time when equality is a goal for so many I hope that the owners and manage can learn to be a little more trusting in their future guests

Have been to McCloud several times Rooms are amazing The view is breathtaking

Food, except for our visit last night, is delicious The prime rib was unseasoned and dry The salmon was fishy The asparagus was so undercooked that it snapped like a stick For 12100 for two people it should have been so much better than that Our waitress was fantastic and very efficient and sweet There was a wedding last night which we felt attributed to the poor quality of food We’ll be back for sure but might want to rethink the wedding service if you’re also open to the public It’s a great place and we would recommend it to anyone Was just really sad about the food since we brought friends and family from out of town and we raved about your food, only to leave them disappointed

Elton Hutto

Amazing views food is great Wife and I had BBQ sandwiches friend had Italian dish and was great, another had ribs and was delicious We were in town staying at Walden Woods riding SXS , short drive and recommend it ,service was good We thought prices would be high since you have to make reservations, they were reasonable and dress code was casual

We will be back next trip

I don’t know about about lodge, but as far as the restaurant goes the view is the only thing that’s specialAs far as a restaurant goes, this is one of the worst and most disappointing experiences I’ve had in a long time For a place that seemed so “exclusive” (and not cheap) I was expecting a 5-star experience However, there were so many issues it would be easier to just list them in a numbered format:1) The carpet around our table looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in a week, and the tables did not look particularly clean either

Even my menu looked dirty They were paper menus and mine had stains on it from whoever used it last2) There were two or three items that were on the menu on their website online that we tried to order and they didn’t make them anymore Apparently they never never update their online menu to reflect what they actually have available3) Our waitress was nice, but there were numerous issues that came up that I just couldn’t believe was happening For example even as she was bringing out our food we still did not have utensils or napkins and had to ask for them, and they weren’t nice cloth napkins like you get in a nice restaurant (or one that costs this much) they were just your basic napkins like you’d get at McDonald’s4 Probably the most unbelievable thing that happened was, four or five people (we had a part of 11) in our crew ordered the pulled pork nachos Every single one came out with any pulled pork on themat all My brother finally asked after a little bit how the pork was and one of my cousins said they didn’t have any on it We told the waitress who found out what happened and unbelievably, instead of telling a manager and offering them some money off of their bill or something, she brought out a plate of pulled pork so they could put it on their half-eaten, pulled pork-less, pulled-pork nachoswhich by then why bother? The view truly is AMAZING, and that alone is worth the trip, just don’t expect a great dining experience on top of it

Gosh just read the reviews I asked to see a room before paying, they only had smoking rooms available on a Friday night, oct 2021

I opened the door to 12A and the smoke smell about knocked me over It was really not nice Maybe the non smoking rooms are better but I left in a hurry Running a motel must be a hard life so I’m trying to be sympathetic but if this was my place I would be kind of ashamed to charge anyone $60 a night

Becci Yorks

Do not stay here!!! We left after 15 minutes, they said that they couldn’t refund the money

I didn’t argue It was a gross place! Dirty, seedy, stinky, mold in bathroom, loose electrical outlets, ugh, it was gross!**update** since they refused to refund, I called my bank, the guy there had been to this place and agreed about conditions Bank did investigation and my $65 was refunded!

We stayed in the Lazy Days Cabin and it stunk ! All week long we left the vent fan in the bathroom running because the smell from poorly vented septic and drains were obnoxious + the bathroom ceiling is black mold all over , the microwave didn’t work , the ceiling fans all clanked and made a ton of noise – no fitted sheets only flats that don’t stay on the bed , bring sheets , towels and pillows from home if you want to sleep comfortably and be able to shower more than once !! really disappointed for the hefty price tag and the rude way we were treated at check in Do not buy the $18 map – won’t help you one bit ! There is however tons of trails, lots of riding & even more mud holes , coveralls and extra jackets would be smart if your machine is open even a tiny bit The difficulty of some of the trails is brutal , we only encountered one that was 100% not passable and two we needed winch – however there were options for several areas and the wrong path would definitely cause you to need to winch out

The easy listed trails are definitely fun and easy riding for many miles – was a fun experience with my family & friends !!! Can’t really say we will ever go back – definitely would not ever stay in that cabin again!! The cafe across the road has really good breakfast!!

It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it because it’s super clean and they have a full breakfast and they’re king suite is phenomenal The bed is pretty comfortable even though it is firm it seems like it’s going to be more bearable than previous hotels on my trip Happy to be here

Not happy about getting back on 75 North but I’m happy to be off the road and happy to be in a clean and beautiful and safe place Better make reservations fast because it books up! I was 7 minutes away and they had three rooms when I called reservations By the time I got to the hotel, I got the last available room Well worth every dime!

Ruth Wickliff

My husband and I stayed the night at this hotel and we both agree, this is the best hotel we have stayed at in a really long time The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable Everything was very clean and updated

And they served an actual hot breakfast! There was such a wide variety of breakfast foods, we couldn’t believe it So much better than the other (more expensive) hotels we stayed at on our trip And the hotel staff was so friendly and nice too We will definitely stay at this hotel again when we are in the area If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!

Robert Gilmore

Sam the proprietor of this establishment is absolutely fantastic! As is his entire staff His hotel is exceptionally clean and tidy The free breakfast is absolutely fantastic and fresh

I have to admit that my favorite item is the automatic pancake maker Push the button once and you can watch the little machine plop down two batter piles The conveyor moves it along as it cooks them and turns them in to perfect little delicious pancakes that drop out on to your plate I have been there several times and love the atmosphere and staff!!

Booked a room one month in advance for May 19 through 22 2022 My fiance called to confirm the reservations he spoke with Tosha she said she could not find our reservation So my fiance booked another room for that weekend On the 22nd of May 20, 2022 they charge my credit card $550 for the room they said they could not find

We gave them fiancee’s credit card when we arrived so they charged us double for that room for that weekend I called talk to the manager they were very rude and said that it just showed up as a no show that they could not help us I told him I was gonna write a review he said “do what you need to do I don’t care” Be careful this is a scam they will tell you they cannot find your reservations only to bill you twiceThe room smelled like mildew I would not even give one star if I didn’t have to write this review it was a horrible stay I called in advance they said they had a swimming pool when we got there they said A-line was broken that they probably wouldn’t have it up and going for a year After we got there we saw that there was other really nice hotels really close by

You won’t find friendlier or more professional staff Often traveling for family and other reasons I can say without a doubt I wouldn’t spend money any other place around the area The staff seem to really try to make sure everyone checks out with having had a great experience and will do anything they can to ensure the customer is not given an unsatisfactory experience

More places could use this one as an example of how customers should be treated

Felt safer here than Knoxville Shower worked fine Bed was broken (mattress literally had a huge divot on one side) and only had sheets on the bed

We had to ask for blankets which the lady thought was strange and gave us a blanket with stains and cigarette burns, as well as a “drape” (we actually found this hilarious and now refer to the hotel as “The Drape”) Hubby felt itchy after our stay so we’re assuming there were bed bugs Floor was filthy But seriously even with all of that it was better than the Rodeway Inn at Knoxville At least we felt safe here!

Joshua Fancher

Cons: Room smelled musty, possibly from the AC filters needing cleaned Potential amazing view of the mountains from the rooms in the rear, particularly blocked by over grown shrubbery Moldy grout in the bathroom, no one has swept behind the bathroom door in weeks

Pros: NO BUGS! New mattresses, clean bedding and linens, a little bit of a good view from what you could see of the mountains, staff seemed welcoming accept the night lady
