This hotel is convenient to the airport, and was fairly comfortable But the room could’ve been cleaner It was obvious they did not vacuum the floor as there were plastic tags scattered around the room from the previous person’s new clothes (but the bathroom seemed clean)

Also the coffee maker still had the last persons used coffee podThe woman at the front desk was not very pleasant every time I called and talked to her On a good note, the woman keeping the breakfast area stocked was very nice, and very helpful And the breakfast was actually quite good… Even for a gluten-free person like me They were eggs, hashbrowns, sausage As well as waffles, yogurt, bagels and muffins and cereal and milk Overall, it was an OK day for one nightBut not up to standardPS- be prepared to hear airplanes throughout the day and night

As far as the rooms and accommodations, they are exactly what you’d expect Clean rooms, fair breakfast offerings, contemporary/modern decor and competitive pricingWhere this establishment soars is with their staff! Everyone we encountered was gracious and accommodating beyond our expectations, starting with our shuttle driver who was a charming personality to meet after a long day hopping airports, and the receptionists who were friendly and helpful, and to the chef who kept the breakfast food stocked

We’ve never found ourselves in North Carolina before, but the staff have made us feel at home!

Rob Silvagni

We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport They have a (basic) free breakfast which starts at 6 They have a free shuttle for both picking up from the airport or dropping off at the airport

The only negative was that there were no cups of any kind in the room I think that was just an oversight I was able pick one up in the lobby

The lobby was very nice The hallways, stairwells and elevators however looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in weeks and weren’t vacuumed for the duration of our stay It was gross

The room AC worked great however the hallways were terribly warm The front desk staff was not friendly A smile goes a long way The beds were comfortable however the stains on the corner of the one mattress were not appealing Balcony could have been enjoyed more with two chairs and even a small table Only one chair provided Two of us showered and we were already out of body wash-that should have been filled prior to our arrival Pool area had nice chairs and water was refreshing Although the pool towels were very thin and small-the bath towels were much nicer It worked for a quick two night stay as it was close to our destination but would not return if in the area again

My husband and I stayed in one room and our cousin stayed in the room next door Upon arrival, we noticed that the sheets on me and my husband’s bed had stains on it and called to have them changed We went to our cousin’s room while this was being taken care of, and she discovered hair on the sheets on her bed

She too, requested to have her sheets changed and also discovered that her balcony had never been swept Once my husband and I returned to our room, we discovered that the balcony hadn’t been swept either, and there were no chairs for us to sit in The ottoman in front of the couch was covered in dog hair, and the shower had hair on the wall We went to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager, stating that we have a complaint, and the employee answered “How can I help you”? Never confirming or denying if he was indeed the manager We told him what our issues were and he responded, telling us he would add 5,000 points on the honors club, which would apply to our cousin, who booked both rooms This is totally unacceptable, and we will never book a room at this location again Every one of our issues was an easy fix and should have been done long before our arrival Extremely disappointed and angry

Wayne Anderson

Excellent modest facility that offers clean rooms, a kind staff, and very close to the highway and local businesses The room provided was fresh and clean with updated furnishings and a recent bathroom remodelI liked the on-site convenience store which is available 24×7, even as the dining experience has scaled back to a more modest post-COVID offering

I cannot say enough positive things about this Courtyard hotelI’m a “Lifetime Diamond” member with Hilton and a Titanium member with Marriott so I travel A LOT!!I was in a jam recently and this hotel went above and beyond to take care of meAside from that, the hotel itself is fantastic!! It seems to be a newer location but is maintained meticulously

The room was spotless, the lobby was warm and inviting and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in Did not get a chance to try the breakfast (I had a 6am flight) but if the rest of the hotel is an example I’m sure it would have been very good as wellIf you’re in the Charlotte area, you will not regret staying here!! I will definitely be back Absolutely THE BEST example of the Courtyard by Marriott brand I’ve ever seen!!

Whether business or leisure, this is where I stay whenever I’m in Charlotte Great hotel Great staff

Always clean and quiet They have all of the amenities Nice spacious lobby with contemporary design, modern updated rooms with mounted flat screens, gym, pool, 2 private meeting rooms off the lobby and conference rooms Centrally located across the street from the Charlotte Premium Outlets Within a mile of restaurants (fast food and dining), gas stations, and grocery stores Very nice area

Upon my initial arrival the woman that greeted us wasn’t very kind and told us we needed to come back later because no rooms were available at 1:30p We had plans so we left and came back later in the night The night desk clerk was nice and checked us in

When we arrived to the room, we noticed a slight smell but we were exhausted and fell asleep Waking up in the middle of the night due to discomfort, we then noticed that the room was not cleaned as there were ants, a large dead bug in the corner, and hair in the sheets The next day after we left, we requested new sheets, towels, and to handle the ants We were offered a new room, but told we had to come get new towels from the front as they didn’t have room service I’ve stayed in many Courtyard Marriotts and I’ve never not been brought towels upon request I hate that we were even charged for that disgusting night Our next room was actually clean The next morning we checked out and we were asked about our stay and the woman (the same white woman that initially greeted us) could have cared less and said, “oh sorry, have a good day” We had a good experience with the two Black desk clerks, but that was the only positive of this stay

We had excellent service from desk agent Alyssa and Maria from the housekeeping department! Our flight was cancelled and we had to book one to arrive 5 hours earlierBoth worked hard to find us a clean room early so we could get some sleep They really went above and beyond, when the first room wasn’t clean Maria even provided us with options

Would stay here again no question The room was modern, spacious, and the only negative I have is that the laminate floors were not clean, there were crumbs near the baseboards, and a clean pair of socks I wore for and hour were black The location is outstanding, not near the road in a residential and retail area Food and shopping options were close

Iam Just Me

We had our wedding at this Cambria hotel Ashley Jordan the Director of Sales and Marketing did a phenomenal job with everything, she’s sweet, professional, and very humbled, in this day and age it’s hard to find staffs that actually love their job to a point they want to see their guest happy but Ashley gave me and my new husband top notch service

The staff that catered the food did a great job, it was absolutely delicious, our guest loved everything Housekeeping did ok but need some improvement but other than that whoever cleaned my room on Friday did a great job 👏🏽

Alyson Maldonado

I absolutely loved my stay here Breakfast isn’t provided on the weekdays and is paid for on the weekends which wasn’t too problematic just something to note The front staff were LOVELY

We booked the King room and I can say for certain their “King” beds are more like Queens When I asked the front desk about it, I was told the manager would simply challenge me and come up to my room with a measuring tape I appreciated their transparency in not wanting to frustrate me any further Because of the debacle I had already been through at the hotel we initially booked, I didn’t bother challenging them beyond that Again, if you’re trying to accommodate your own physical size or someone else’s comfort in getting a “King” room, expect a tight squeeze I’d still stay again – maybe just bring my own tape measure next time😂

Excellent service! I booked a reservation through a third party vendor and they botched it Tyshion was super helpful in working with the third party to get us the correct rooms on a sold out night His patience and understanding were top notch and I thank him greatly

I’m traveling with older family and young children, glad we stayed The rooms were clean and comfortable!

Shannon Carney

Above and beyond helpful I was traveling alone for work and broke a wheel on my suitcase My husband sent me new wheels but didn’t have the right tools to replace the wheels

The front desk put me in contact with the chief engineer at the hotel and he brought his tools and replaced my wheels!! Such a life saver!! Great experience and excellent customer service at this Courtyard Highly recommend

Jennifer Melles

Made a reservation for a room for a certain room type Noted in the confirmation that I can’t change or modify the reservation after a given date On the date of check-in, I see that the hotel has modified my reservation for a room type I did not choose or agree to pay

No notification at all So, I can’t modify or cancel since it’s after the give time-frame Now it’s the date of the reservation and I have no other options Horrible customer experience let alone unethical business practices

The food was GREAT however, I had to move rooms twice The first room had scratched and scrapped furniture with big chunks missing There was a noticeable hole cut in the ceiling of the shower with some weird panel situation

The walls had what looked like food and stains Just a yucky room The second room wasn’t AS BAD, but the shower is nasty with grime, rust, and parts of the rubber to keep the water in ripped up which is really a tripping hazard I will be returning to the front desk in hopes they will exchange the room and maybe the third time is a charm The beds are comfortable that’s so far the only pro I have for the room Again hopefully I will be able to exchange for a third time

Harpey Family

Great stay for our family of 4 and the dog Staff is amazing, they addressed problems we had immediately Special thank you to Taylor and Shelby for their patience and kindness

We enjoyed the pool and the gym We had a keurig coffee machine Unfortunately we couldn’t rely on the fridge as temperature was fluctuating too much and we had to throw away our food We will be back

Dajah Eubanks

This past weekend, myself and three of my good friends visited this location and began our stay for a girls weekend One of the friends from the group booked our room with the Sonesta Hotel and told us that she’d chosen a “nice” hotel Although there were in fact some “nice” aspects of our stay including the staff who were extremely friendly and the lobby which was huge and comfortable, there were also some not so nice aspects of it as well

Upon entering our hotel room, we found that there was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom Also, we’d purchased drinks at the gas station nearby and of course wanted to refrigerate them overnight However, we were hesitant as the mini fridge still had someone’s drink they’d purchased from McDonalds still sitting there We were quite skeptical of sleeping in the beds as we felt that the room hadn’t been properly cleaned When we notified the people at the front desk of this negligence, they were, again, super friendly and even offered to get us another room But, there were four of us who’d overpacked and it was too much of a hassle to move all of our belongings we’d just finished unpacking We had explained to the hotel staff that it was too much of an inconvenience for us to up and move somewhere else, which they were understanding of So, we just toughed in out in the current roomEven then, no one ever offered to give us a discount or at least compensate us a day for the lack of cleanliness Some other things I noticed about the building itself (specifically the outside) is that it doesn’t look as glamorous in person as it does in the pictures In fact, the building was in desperate need of a good pressure washing And, the chairs sitting outside of several of the rooms looked as though they hadn’t been sat in in ages Also, the temperature in our room remained on 65 the entire weekend we were there Yet, the the room felt like no air was circulating at all In fact, despite how potentially dangerous it can be, we actually had to prop our door open one night because it was so hot Overall the staff made the experience a comfortable one with their kindness, I wish I’d been assured that the room had been thoroughly cleaned, especially with us still being in the middle of a pandemic Also, I wish more effort was put into making the outside of the building look more welcoming

Beautiful hotel with a rich history from its previous history as a bank All of the decor and restoration of the building plays homage to its previous life Our bed was cushy and easy to fall asleep in

The bathroom was beautiful, serene, and there was no concern about it being unclean The receptionist made sure we had clearly explained access to the wifi password, meal times and locations, and rooftop access; she also made lovely restaurant recommendations! I went with a friend who had some physical disabilities and they accommodated her very well and we had easy access to handicapped accessible parking close to the front of the building

Greg Vaughn

Wonderful hotel right in downtown Gastonia Not too far from the intersecting highways and a small drive to Charlotte Douglas airport You own it to yourself to check out this remodeled bank! It maintains some of it originality while being comfortable and cozy

If you get the chance to be on the roof at sunrise or sunset it makes the stay worth it! Simple, quaint rooms with all the basic amenities Barrister’s on the main floor has a great burger and the breakfast in the lower floor is delicious

Katelyn Budke

My husband and I got married at Separk Mansion in May 2022 and reserved room blocks at the Esquire Hotel for ourselves and out of town guests We had the most amazing experience – Cody, Sarah, and the entire staff were all very welcoming, accommodating, and on top of everything From handing out 50 welcome bags to guests at check in to arranging a perfect rehearsal dinner and making sure our bridal party had everything we needed while we got ready in the bridal suite, I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough

Quality hotel, with a few small place to improve The entire hotel is relatively new, and you can tell with the excellent rooms Plenty of space to stretch out

Chromecast in every room is a nice touch Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great though Also, due to the angle of the hotel, inside rooms stare directly into other hotel rooms I do like the location, it’s close to restaurants, shops, and a park Unfortunately, this can make street parking difficult, and the parking policy wasn’t clear on website (it’s paid parking everyday, even if it’s not valet)

Leigh Ann Bailey

Hotel was clean, staff was courteous, and breakfast was good Great location for South End However, if you want to sleep this is not the place, muscle cars were racing outside of our window much of the night, partiers coming in at 3:00am, loud and laughing

I’m exhausted Perhaps it would be better if you requested an inside room This was a Sat night

Stayed for almost a week while visiting family It was ok but minimal services Room was clean when we arrived but no daily housekeeping

Asked for extra pillows and was told they didn’t have any, two different days The pool was awesome though The water was so warm which was wonderful Kids loved it The gym was nice too Coffee in lobby was good but no real food Has a small selection of frozen/fridge food but nothing for breakfast Should at least sell frozen breakfast sandwiches or cereal charged $2 for one tide pod Real Hilton? I by 80 for $20 Way to gouge your customers on something so trivial Overall nice hotel that is very reasonably priced

Really nice hotel and staff The room was clean, well equipped, and quiet for a Saturday night The manager was very kind and helped me get a room when my flight was delayed and all the rooms in the area were sold out

Complimentary breakfast was also very good with a wide selection The room I stayed in also had a microwave which was very convenient

Amy Tilson

This is the worst Hampton Inn I’ve ever stayed at We chose this location specifically because of the rating Rooms 216-219 are located next to openings above the lobby

You can hear everything!! I had to call the front desk at 11:45 pm to ask that persons in the lobby quiet down They did not do this of their own volition The hallway is also stifling hot in that location due to the openings Breakfast was very limited compared to other Hampton Inns and of a much lesser quality than expected Rooms were similar to other Hampton Inns, except the bathroom doors faced into the sleeping are instead of the entry That is an awkward placement consodering they are sliding barn doors and don’t close completely as is I would NOT stay at this location again

Amy King (The Real Estate Lady)

Was in town on business and stayed too late to drive 25 hours home, so, last minute, Hampton Inn it is My stay was great! Staff was great, hotel was in great condition, room was comfortable and breakfast the next day was just right to get me on my way

As a Hilton Honors member I’ve stayed at my share of hotels I’ve stayed at more than a few Hampton Inns and this one was by FAR, the best!

This was our 1st trip to Charlotte, it was a stop over on a longer trip Being a long time Hilton Honors member I chose this hotel due to its location very close to interstate The front desk staff were friendly, helpful, & efficient in reassigning a room to us when the one I had chosen was no longer available

The happy hour offerings were great, the common area and bar area were clean and comfortable We ordered a meal at the bar & it was great as well, and again the staff were friendly & efficient Our room was clean and comfortable The complementary breakfast the next day was the best we have had at any Hilton We enjoyed our 1 night stay so much that we booked another night for our return trip home

Summary: Excellent service, charming rooms that have character, beautiful open center balcony layout It felt grand and I truly enjoyed myselfI spent the better part of last year in one hotel or another and this was the best hotel experience I’ve ever had

From the moment I walked in to the moment I was walking out the door I felt valued and important to every staff member I interacted with Breakfast was amazingRoom for improvement: coffee could have been a little better Other than that a+ and I will recommend it to anyone needing to stay in the area

We used to really enjoy staying at Embassy Suites but this was the latest in a string of disappointments First of all this property is really showing its age The refrigerator had mildew stains

Paint needed to be touched up in several places in the room The door was marred – probably where a mirror had been removed The water did not get hot in the showerThe breakfast service is one of the benefits of staying there but it was lacking I asked for fried eggs at the breakfast station, and the cook scrambled them and said – ” here are your fried eggs” There were two cooks The man behind me asked for the same thing and got fried eggs, so I guess it was just the one who helped me who was unfamiliar with fried eggs There were items like grits and biscuits at the cook to order station that were not available at the hot buffet but you would not know it if you didn’t see it Usually they have hot oatmeal too, but this one did notThe biggest problem however was customer service at the front desk Our room only had towels for three and there were four of us so I called down to ask for a set for myself Surprisingly they said they’d bring it up By the time they brought it up I had found a housekeeper to give me a set, showered, done my hair, gotten dressed and left for the day Before we left my husband called down and asked if our room could be serviced and was told yes When we came back several hours later nothing had been done He called down and was told that they could only take the trash and refresh the towels but she couldn’t guarantee that When he asked to speak to a manager who could guarantee that, the lady hung up on him He went down to the front desk and asked her why she hung up on him and she said, “I was busy” Then her coworker asked “what’s his problem?” and she responds by saying our room number really slowly as if we had been bothering them all day We hadn’t The manager confirmed that and apologized for the behavior of the other employees and offered us points That’s nice, but in our past experiences the points never show up and they want to argue with you if you call and ask about it It’s just not worth it Not giving up on all Hilton properties, but we are done with Embassy Suites

Very nice hotel, and I had a good stay The staff was friendly upon checking in and the room was clean Comfortable bed

Peaceful location The only reason I’m rating 4 stars is because the shower drain needs to be unclogged I hate when the water rises up in the tub while taking a shower Drains should be checked periodicallyOverall great hotel, and would stay again

The room SMELLED! It was a strong mildew odor I was told that the room would be freshened etc

still after that the room had the same odor The linens did not feel clean Kept feeling like the linens were moist… The pool was out of order The bar/restaurant was never open There are holes in the wall in the hallway on the second floor It sucks because the hotels right across the street were so much better than this one The staff at the front desk are cool, but my stay was horrible and I feel like they just took my money and didn’t care how my stay went Never again!!!

Extremely disappointed in our stay, The main reason I booked this hotel over others was due to the indoor pool bar and restaurant on site none of those amenities were open and there was nothing saying otherwise on the website at the time of booking When we arrived the staff seem to not care and offered nothing to make up for the lack of amenities considering that we paid quite the full price for the room The room although appeared clean most surfaces when touching them were sticky

Going forward I would have a hard time booking any Hilton affiliated hotel as this was a most unpleasant stay
