I was Surprised and Pleased with my La Quinta Hotel decisionI have lived in the Tacoma area for about 25 years and two years ago moved to Arizona I travel back-and-forth for business

The city has gone through so much since the Covid situation it’s hard to determine these days where to stay The location was central, they kept the facility locked and safe 24 hours a day The staff is what made it a five-star visit everybody was friendly and very accommodating I enjoyed that they had a continental breakfast in the morning and then they serve dinner from 5 to 9 in the lounge I felt it was affordable and the food was good Again mainly the service was five star thank you very much to the staff I’ll see you again soon!

It’s your typical La Quinta Inn Staff was very friendly and helpful! The first room we stayed in was a bit messy but they had no issues making in right at the counter They were very apologetic and quick to give us another room

Breakfast was great, nothing like waffles and some orange juice Absolutely enjoyed the little restaurant on the first floor There was barely anyone dining in when I went and you could change the tunes through the tune app on your phone I ordered a BBQ burger and they didn’t disappoint at all! I’d recommend staying here if you’re in town or don’t want to spend too much on Airbnbs There’s also plenty of places nearby that you could walk to

Our stay was very pleasant! The staff were kind and attentive! Our room was comfortable, clean, and accommodating I am not sure if every room has this, the headboard displayed some of the local town in a painting style A unique touch! The continental hot breakfast was well put together! With all the amenities this hotel provides this surely made a great deal!

Tracy McPherson

Overall a very good hotel The only reason I rated a little lower is that the neighborhood around the hotel is starting to get pretty run down There is a tent city directly on the other side of the fence for the hotel parking lot and a lot of activity there

I do want to note however, that we have not had any issues at all related to that, and the hotel staff is awesome and very accommodating They have a very secure parking lot and key requirements to even get in the building as well as night security guards as well That being said, I don’t like feeling like I’m in prison when I go to a hotel Hopefully the city will get the area cleaned up

Ambria Affriseo

Surprised with the size of the rooms & I loved the lighted mirror & window covers They allow as much natural light as you want or completely darken the room I through some sound motion lights around the head board of the bed & gave the room some color therapy

The kids loved it Also, the storages made it easy to keep the room looking clean while still having all your personal items at your fingertips & organized Overall I give this hotel ☆☆☆☆☆

I cannot say enough about this hotel The staff was amazing They are very friendly and talkative

They helped me out in my situation here and accommodated me very well It can be noisy at times, but they realize that and even provided a tip sheet on how to drown out the noise (see picture) The bar and food here are both very good I highly recommend this hotel, just park in the main lot and you’ll be good! They have security and the staff is watchful as well

I was only here for a night for work, but it was a pleasant stay Alonzo during check in was knowledgeable and friendly The check in process was a breeze thanks to him

I checked out at 3am and Tiffany was more than helpful! She couldn’t check me out right away due to the overnight audit being completed, but she made sure to get my email, verify the card on file, and check me out as soon as possible She made sure I was prepared for my travels by offering coffee from the snack shop and sending me off with well wishes While waiting for my ride to the airport, I heard her interacting with another guest buying food from the shop, and she even thought to ask if he needed a fork Tiffany is a keeper Thank you all for a pleasant stay!

I haven’t actually been to this Motel, but I have been to many of the Comedy club events sponsored by Nate Jackson I can tell you there is plenty of well lit parking at this location Easy access to I5 if you want to head into town

Very clean and comfortable Rooms are spacious and provides a curtain to add a little privacy between bed and sofa bed (great if you have a kid) The rooms are well insulated

Even though our room faced the interstate and train, it didn’t keep us up Breakfast was decent for a continental type We stayed 4 nights prior to our military move Would definitely recommend!

Roger Skaer

Upon check-in, I experienced a genuinely personal greeting and was set up with my accommodations quickly and efficiently My room was perfectly clean and in great conditionThe staff was very professional and helpful, making sure that I had everything I needed for a stress-free and enjoyable stay

I would definitely recommend Home2 Suites to everyone as they have time and again provided me with nothing but the utmost of courtesy and careThank you again for another perfect stay

I am a professional traveler, and I highly recommend this hotel I have used this Home2 Suites on several trips to Joint Base Lewis McChord, and they have always been kind and very accommodating The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well stocked

Breakfast is the typical self service style, and has a good assortment of items to choose fromOn a recent trip, shortly after arriving, I had an untimely death of a family member The staff was understanding and helpful with making my early departure as painless as possible, and I must give a special mention to the night manager, Sarah She is a special human being, and her kindness to me at a very difficult time in my life does not go unappreciated Thank you Sarah, and to everyone else who makes this my favorite Tacoma area stay!

We were so impressed with this hotel!! We stayed in a King room that ended up having a kitchenette, which I was not expecting The room was nicely remodeled The bed was incredibly comfortable

The front desk staff was friendly and helpful at check in The continental breakfast had a good selection of items to choose fromWe will definitely choose to stay here again if we are in the area again!

Moneesha Kamani

Absolute nightmare dealing with Marie and Jose from the hotel They were rude and repeatedly abrupt, and I am still awaiting a call from Megan Riley for a month now The room we got was also unclean and it took a TON of negotiating to clean it! They will say “you can clean your room anytime” on their signage and hoardings, but when you ask them, they will say they clean a room only after 7 days of a stay (even when you show them pictures of dirty hairs and are staying there for 5 days)

Marie will repeatedly call you by another name, and they will promise “to make it right” but do nothing The pool was closed during the stay and the fire alarms – while alarms and drills are necessary, we were not advised at check in! It was 5 days of enduring shrills and entry into the room by different people Oh, and last but not the least, woken at 11 pm by receptionist saying there was noise from my room (when there was none, it was an ice machine down the hallway humming) So, you will be woken up from deep sleep to be advised about imaginary noise that “must be coming from my room” Now you have disturbed two guests, the one complaining about some noise and the other, who was asleep Great hospitality!

Michelle Moena

Great kitchen with fridge/freezer, fully stocked with a list of items you can borrow including a blender!Staff was very friendly and helpful I would give it 5 stats but my skin had a reaction to the sheets Night two they washed a set of sheets in just hot water for me, this helped a little

My legs still turned red and blotchy but I was able to sleep For over $200 a night you’d think they’d have an alternative set of sheets for like an allergen sensitive set of sheets for weird people like meOther than that, they accommodated an early arrival so we could get checked in and onto our high school state track tournament within 10 minutes of our hotelBeing next to the freeway is loud so I recommend bringing earplugs if you’re used to a quieter environment

This is an amazing historic building, and McMenamins did a great job making it a fun place to visit! Staff was friendly and very helpful! Our group had a dinner and everyone enjoyed the food and were really impressed with the quality of food and how great it was The Spanish Ballroom is a great music venue! The sound system is excellent and a really cool space to check out live music! I definitely will return as I know I missed some of the great spaces Parking is mostly street parking, so that was the only reason I gave location 4 stars

Remember to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏᴄᴏm when booking any resort This web site will compare thousands of hotel sites and usually will have rates a lot cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of my favorites in the area

I have been staying here for a very long time If you decide to stay here you won’t be let downLove love love this place! So unique and so fun! What a great atmosphere, from the inside to the out and from the top to the bottom! Each bar is so different and I think my favorite thing is I don’t know if there’s 2 matching light fixtures in the entire place! Oh And the food is so good!!!

Gerry Hunter

McMenamins nailed it again with the Elks Temple property; a beautiful renovation of an historic building, well-executed and full of fun bits of history to learn about the building and the area Fun to stroll the entire building (the diverse collection of chandeliers is amazing — don’t miss the atrium!) We had dinner in the pub; the service was solid, and everything was tasty and a decent value

Even had a couple of cocktails which were pleasingly well-madeThe bed was great, the room was clean and everything worked Only downside was a bit of all-night industrial noise and light from across the water; it was great to sit and look out at it all with a drink, but a touch noisy for good sleep Pulling closed the heavy drapes in the room took care of all of the light and most of the noise though, so it should really only be an issue for light sleepers

This place is nice After check in we discovered that our toilet leaked at the base when flushed, so they gave us another room within an hour Breakfast is on the go and simple

Rooms are clean, beds very comfortable and towels are soft Nice atmosphere and the office personal are helpful and respectful Our six day stay was very pleasant

Miss Lindz

Pros: Nice quiet location, there was an issue with the original room and they switched us right away and the front desk girl was super niceCons: I see other reviews talking about soft beds but mine was so firm that I could barely sleep and woke up with a massive headache For whatever reason, the toilet would not actually flush and would fill with water and maybe 10mins later, it finally drained

Only really taking one star off cause of a horrible night’s sleep from a too firm bed

Doug Brown

Room wasn’t the cleanest was dirty under and around bed, dust and dirt between end tables and wall but bed itself was clean and comfy, bathroom was clean, has refrigerator and coffee maker, wish it had a safe though, has a pool I didn’t swim in it but looked very clean Service was great and continental breakfast was good Overall was a good experience and would stay here again

The place is beautiful don get me wrong But I would expect at least to get free breakfast or parking they charge for both considering i spent 200 for one night i was hoping at least a meal or to be able to park but I was wrong 🙄 kind of a disappointment but I get it they need to make there money 💰 but after I found out about breakfast I had ordered a orange juice and then they made a big deal about paying for the orange juice it just seemed a little pety considering how much I spent to stay here not everyone has extra money to spend i just came to bring my daughter to see the artwork! But I don’t think I would stay here again

Shonda Barnett

My sister and I stayed at this hotel for our girls weekend The hotel is BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED in blown glass by different artists, and there is a different artists featured on each floor The location of the hotel was close to shops and restaurants

They also offer dog friendly rooms at this location I would say the only downside would be the customer service on dayshift Our room keys were not working and we needed help getting our bags and room key in order and instead of someone assisting us we had to make 4 trips getting stuck out of our room and on the elevator with bags Needless to say we were pretty annoyed at this point But all in all that was the only snaffle we had and in the large sum of things it wasn’t a bad stay at all The night shift however was excellent, they brought up extra blankets in a timely manner and they were very helpful and friendly

Wrennifred Knightly

For $170 per night, I don’t think that I’d stay here again I don’t typically write reviews unless I feel that my experience was really not worth the money (or if it really was!) Bought about $75 worth of groceries, stored it in the fridge, and the next day it stopped/wasn’t working and all of the food and drinks we bought went bad

Café had a 30+ minute wait and didn’t have enough available seating for the events they host, even getting there when they opened there was a wait time Room service wasn’t allowed, covers on the bed had a rip in it Door lock stopped working too and we got locked out for a good hour or so before someone came to fix it Hotel itself is beautiful, but seemed to care more about money made over quality of stay

My room was very clean I enjoyed the complimentary extras in the bathroom I forgot make up remover, so having a make up wipe came in clutch Parking was a little extra, but worth it You have to use your room key to open the gate for parking, so that made it feel safer Overall, it was a great visit and I would stay here again

I did appreciate that pulling into the hotel providing shelter and a covered parking structure The amenities in the room were were basic but fine for a weekend trip The bed was nice and there was enough space for two people without feeling cramped

I would give another star, but the fan in the room was either damaged or needed repairs The highest setting barely worked

Extremely personable staff Well kept rooms I even liked the art

The rooms are arranged a bit different from what a normal hotel might do and I think it works Fast and roomy elevator Ac/heat works really well and gets to temp quickly Great water pressure I really enjoyed that there is actual shelves in the shower Zone Lighting in the room where needed Super cool area too Lots to do within walking distance 100% would stay again

Xochitl Castaneda

I attended a meeting here The space is very nice, the catering was good We had make your own sandwich trays

The restrooms are clean and modern Parking is a challenge We parked across the street and the payment machines were inoperable I had to go to the front desk to pay for parking That was extra time while I was rushing to get to my meeting

IMR

The rooms were nice & the hotel was very elegant & clean The only thing wrong was the way the built the parking garage It is very tight & narrow

If you have a big truck or pulling a trailer you will have to park on the street They can’t even get a tow truck in it Be very aware this parking garage is very small Maybe they thought all their guests & staff would be driving smart cars

We stayed here for three weeks while looking for a house The staff was exceptionally kind and compassionate through this rough time We celebrated a birthday, took care of a sick dog, dealt with realtors, and many other very stressful things while staying here

The staff made us feel at home When there was a break in nearby, the staff kept us safe, even having a family member in the parking lot to watch for us The rooms are spacious and were very clean when we got there The whole hotel is clean I loved the snack room and gym I can’t express how great of a stay this was I look forward to staying here again

Andrea Engh

I love how clean the place is The rooms are very spacious and they have a camera always watching the parking lot front and back and all throughout the halls It’s very secure and the staff are always friendly saying hello and how is your day and have a good night

Plus you can borrow stuff for example I needed to borrow a blender It was super easyi just told the lady at front desk and she unlocked the cupboard and got me 1 Plus they always have free coffee all day long and you can borrow movies and even have stuff charged to your room (like an expensive hotel) Here I’ll sum it up in 2 words THEY’RE AWESOME!

Ed Bunch

Nice rooms with full kitchens including a dishwasher

which your expect to use for breakfast as they don’t provide one (as my wife thought 🙂 Price was right as there really isn’t anything around except for the commuter train – less than 1 miles walk Pretty quiet and comfortable They take security pretty seriously as they keep the inner front door locked from outside and you have to be let in depending on the time of day Only one small non-decaf coffee (maybe could ask for more) and no cream is provided to used in the full size coffee maker You get to figure out how much H2O to use Recommended bringing your own ground coffee and breakfast fixins

Beautiful garden Bathrooms are shared, but we were the only guests for our bathroom which was nice Kitchen has everything you might need and the house overall has the “visiting grandma’s house” vibe down to a T Breakfast at 8am sharp but none of it was hot (not an issue) so we probably wouldn’t have gotten up quite so early if we had realized that Our double bed was rock hard, also not an issue for us but something to note if you have any back problems The hostess is such a sweet lady and great cook which is why I rate 4 stars and not 3, and also because I don’t rate small business low But I would rate 3 because the host began a prolonged discussion about politics over breakfast – and by discussion, I mean we listened to him talk about his opinion on vaccine mandates and lying politicians We were asked repeatedly don’t we agree – we didn’t, but our hesitancy to answer and vague “not really”s did nothing to quell the speech It was thoroughly awkward for us, especially as a nurse This occurance is still bothering me five days later But overall a solid and homey place to stay

The history of B&Bs in the US began when people would let rooms in the homes to travelers passing through This helped families through challenging times, such as the Great Depression Often travelers would stay only one or two days, have breakfast with the family hosting the travelers, and then the travelers would fix or buy their other meals on their own

Patty and Jerry have captured the essence of a true B&B experience, but enhanced it with wonderful breakfasts catering to special diets, warm personalities, and a charming ambience My travels kept me there way longer than the average, and they were very kind about my staying They even stepped up and have given this mom a huge peace of mind leaving my college freshman 2100 miles from homeThese two are kind Accommodations comfortable and homeyHighly recommend and will be backOnly negatives like hotter shower and one twin bed is harder than I am used too But they still get a rarely used 5 stars because everything else, including them as people, deserve this and a bonus star if allowedOther bonuses: super close to UPS, Gig Harbor, shopping, restaurants, hiking trails, and other attractions If you need anything, just ask either one and they will do what they can

Nice hotel in Gig Harbor away from the main downtown area but in walking distance to a few restaurants and a Starbucks We reserved the suite with 1 king 1 queen and a sofa bed which worked for my family of five Breakfast kept us full until early afternoon and consisted of eggs (though they seemed to be powdered eggs; strange consistency), sausage links, waffles/french toast, yogurts, oatmeal, and fruits

Good coffee in the rooms (K cups) Friendly and responsive staff Overall good value for the area

Great location in Gig Harbor Full breakfast is free Big, clean rooms with a very helpful courteous staff

Nice big rooms Pretty quiet at night and comfortable beds It is not told to you at time of check in, but they only clean your room if you ask! We arrived back in the evening to find unmade bed, towels still placed where we left them, etc I find it sad that they cant find people to work People need to wake up and see how destructive the new administration is and the havoc being created in all areas of the economy

Wesley Suite 255 Two rooms and a king bed much like the photos, tub and fireplace and bed in rear room A TV in both rooms

No stand nor light next to fairly stiff reading chair Heater controls did not seem to work as expected The thermostat seemed limited to 65 but the separate fireplace was nice and hot TVs are undersized for the expectation of the client who can afford the suite It’s great they are in both rooms but they are about 40” and basic cable services with no pause buffer Bath was super premium and the real killer feature in the main room It is longer and wider than most tubs And the old fashioned casement window nearby opens for some fresh air when you unlock it I recommend bring noise canceling headphones or a pilot earmuffs to drown out the loud jets for the more relaxing experience But it outclasses the rest of the suite Including the bathroom, with its slightly precarious corner seat standup shower and standard toilet If they upgrade these more minor points over time to fill out the experience it could be quite luxurious Ah but no room service of course, and the continental breakfast was standard fare A decent pot of hearty oatmeal, a clear plastic case of cheap unpackaged premade pastries and such, browning bananas and small mealy apples Good pots of strong black coffee Staying in the suite I went down to get some fresh fruit and such to bring back and run a tub for my date Be better to bring a few groceries for the kitchenette next time No balcony and a very “parking lot” outside experience; but a decent amount of trees and birds chirruping in the morning I think this deserves three and a half all things considered

The good and the bad… Honest Recent ReviewI had JUST checked in and in a matter of 5 minutes my truck window was smashed- and items stolen- at 1 in the afternoon and parked out front Cost to replace was $500 CDN Police came and they were really nice 😂Staff was AMAZING

Helped me clean up Were very apologetic and kind and I stayed for the remainder of my stay because of itRoom bedding I had to change when I arrived as it was dirty But, they brought warm clean bedding I threw on Rest of the room seemed cleanI mean, to me the Staff make the place They were really good to me Everywhere, and I mean everywhere around here has crime and the exact same issues So at least you’re staying somewhere where they seem to care

We were very upset when our room was changed without our knowledge prior to our arrival We requested and paid for a queen suite so that we could be with our three children together in the same room When we checked in we were told that the suite had not been cleaned and we were going to have to stay in two separate rooms that had queen beds

I explained to the person checking us in that we needed a suite in order to remain together as a family for our vacation and was told that there was nothing he could do about it and he seemed annoyed that I cared He said you “would not rather have two rooms?” I then requested that we change rooms the next day in order to be together for the remainder of our stay and at first he told us that that could not happen but then changed and said it could For that night my husband and I had to stay in separate rooms and split the kids When we spoke with the new person at the check-in counter the next morning they again seemed surprised that we would not prefer two separate rooms and we had to explain again that we have our children and did not want to be sleeping in separate rooms on our vacation They let us know that the queen suite that we reserved was currently full and we would have to wait for the people to check out and the room to be cleaned This let us know that the hotel chose to take more money and allow someone else that suite even though we had booked in advance and paid the day that we booked for that room It was clear to me that there was no care or thought about how that would affect our stay and nobody called to let us know that we would not have that suite or offered a refund for that night to see if we could find a suite elsewhere, instead they knew that when we arrived we would have no option but to stay in two separate rooms and the hotel was able to get money for double booking the room that we already paid for Whenever we travel I look for hiltons in the area because it is typically the most comfortable stay, but I no longer trust Hilton to honor reserving the room that we pay for
