Wife and I decided to stay here while on a business trip based on the positive reviews While the hotel itself was decent, we had one of the worst experiences with the front desk clerk upon arrival We walked in and up to the front desk (there was no one else in the lobby)

The younger man working behind the front desk didn’t say a single word to us Instead he stared at us and raised his eyebrows I told him we had a reservation and, without saying a word, he held up his hand , as if he were holding something and just stared at me I literally thought maybe he couldn’t speak or something So I asked him what the gesture meant, to which he finally said, “Id” At this point, I was a little annoyed, but gave him my id He proceeded to quietly check us in on the computer Once finished he, still without saying anything, looked at me tapped the credit card machine with his hand Extremely annoyed now, I tapped the credit card machine back and asked him “what does this mean??”My wife followed up by asking what was with the attitude to which he replied that he was having a bad day I can certainly sympathize with someone having a bad day, BUT, when your number one job is to be HOSPITABLE, and you can’t do that, then you probably should find a different job I strongly suggest Marriott work on their customer service training There’s certainly no shortage of hotels that will gladly take your $150+/night and not treat you like your an inconvenience

We always stay at this place every time we are in town to visit our college children The location is convenient and the facility is nice The day time staff are very nice and friendly especially the on site manager Ms

Mary However, last several times when we checked in around 8:30 pm on Friday or Saturday evenings, the night shift staff, especially the big guy is very rude and he looks angry for no reason I felt he was judging/profiling me The credit card machine at the front desk is very difficult to use and it needs replaced I had problems with swiping my card for the recent check ins

This place is GREAT!! 🐕🐶 ARE WELCOME!!😁Easy to find off I35, plenty parking in front and around back, well lit area The staff member, Kynan, was very welcoming and friendly! He checked us in and assisted us since we have a Marriott BonVoy CC account, due to the app not accepting the phone number! The room we got was TERRIFIC! It has a kitchenette and all amenities of home feeling fir extended stays! A dining table with 4 chairs, lounge chair with lamp, large shower, comfy beds with fluffy bed linens and great TV stations! Nice large windows with blackout curtains that really black out!! We did get in pool, it was so cool, nice, 4

5 ft deep Nice lawn chairs, and tables with umbrellas! Out front is a patio area with 2 grills and nice large comfy patio sectional! Very nice to hang out and grill a nice steak and potatoes dinner! Breakfast was good, an assortment of hot/cold, coffee, and different juice and milk cartons Eggs, bacon, turkey sausage patty, hot large pot of oatmeal, bread, cold cereal, boiled eggs, and waffle machine Plenty tables to sit no matter the time! The lady keeps breakfast going, no waiting! Dogs are welcomed!!!! Just make sure they are safe snd not barking all day and night! Thanks to Kynan again for assisting us , truly he is all about providing BEST customer service! Definitely a 💯 reccomend!

It started with one hour early check-in which was the only good thing to say about our stay After that, we were notified of shortage of staff and room service is not available everyday This is a deal breaker

Having so many other options to stay, the reason we chose this hotel over AirBnb was room service and breakfast We did not get room service for our entire stay of 3 nights We put the garbage outside of the room and no one picked up the garbage Breakfast: didn’t have vegetarian option except milk and cereals No breads or bagels Juice machine was broken as if it’s a thing in hotels nowadays I haven’t had this bad experience at other Marriott properties 1 star is because of room size

The holloway family

The hotel is very old and stale The carpet is filthy We only stayed one night because we couldn’t get out money back, but had to cancel our other night because we could not tolerate the filth

I probably used an entire bottle of Lysol trying to disinfect the room Did I say the carpet is filthy, the bathroom floor was disgusting, the pillow cases were dirty Even the free lotion that every hotel provides looked 1980ish The rooms are super small I have stayed in a Motel 8 and that hotel was better than this hotel I’m not going to get started on the subpar breakfast Muffins smelled like play dough I could go on and on, but do not pay anything more than $75/night for this hotel Trust me, you will be highly disappointed I hope that my negative review will motivate management to fix the problem

Siva Kumar

The hotel was filthy and it seems like Marriott retrofitted an old hotel into its chain The room amenities did not work as expected The fridge leaked water in the room floors, the microwave did not work and the ac/heat were either too hot or cold

It could not be controlled We just stayed there for a night but it was probably my least favorite stay in a Marriott chain I would not recommend it to anyone

I have stayed here before; 2 years agoThey have Breakfast Buffet 2 years ago there was fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, coffee, a self serve waffle station, yogurt, toast and more

This visit, they had prepackaged and warmed bagel sandwiches, waffles ready made, cereal, and coffee The coffee was seldom checked I tried to get coffee from an empty urnThe breakfast was not at all what I had expected from previous staysOtherwise, it was very nice

Shirley Patino

The staff, hotel and room itself were great Very nice hotel I am disappointed, however on the breakfast set up

It was was nothing but packaged items … boxed cereal, boxed oatmeal, packaged egg sandwiches etc our goal was to be able to eat a small breakfast before getting back on the road but are now inconvenienced with having to stop for a decent breakfast

Keith McCook

Friendly enough front desk, and a clean property, but lots of little things made our stay just ‘OK’ Not enough parking (had to park at building next door), below avg breakfast options (even considering COVID restrictions), and unusably slow WIFI Our room was clean, but showed signs of wear (paint chips, dented furniture)

Not up to Marriott standards

The 1st time I stayed at this property, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was and how comfortable the beds where That however was a long time ago This time I was frightened to stay but, I was so tired; I couldn’t make myself pack up and leave!I changed rooms once only to have the same issue in room #2

Mosquitoes and spiders occupied the rooms!I asked the front desk if they had bug spray but, they said noThe rooms where not clean around the baseboards, the ceiling had cob and spider websThe toilet had not been cleanedI am a retired corporate travel consultant and although this hotel/motel quality property did alright by me the first time a few years back, I do not recommend this specific Best Western any moreNo matter what you pay for a room, you deserve better than I what I experienced Your money is green, spend it elsewhere!

NBC

This place is in a serious need of an update Missing paint, rusting stairs, dents in walls, broken appliances in room, broken ice machine, emptied pool Though it is cheap and sufficient for a night’s sleep, it leaves a lot to be desired

Access is through the outside, so not recommended for women solo travelers or others worried about security/safety Hotel is right along highway, so ask for a room in the back to avoid excessive noise WiFi didn’t work for me Water was hot with decent pressure Standard barebones continental breakfast included Staff was super friendly The are better equally cheap hotels in the vicinity, so would recommend an alternative until they spruce things up or unless other options are limited

Sherry Munoz

Honestly my dad used this hotel years ago when he had people working here outta town They got us a room and let us check in early, out ac died and the kiddi and I couldn’t take it anymore They didnr make us wait till 3, we offered to pay extra but they refused! Tbry will always have our business even though we are a half a mile up the road!

In my opinion there are a couple things a hotel/motel must have, hot water on demand and the Golf Channel This Courtyard is pretty and modern, and the staff was nice, service was good, but the hot water never gets hot and many of the channels don’t work, including the golf channel Fix these problems and I’d give it a higher rating

In addition still no maid service it’s time to put this behind us and bring full service back

Mike

Great people that work hereThe bartender Casey always has impeccable customer serviceFront desk is extremely helpful and kindI have a great view from my room of the city at night

It was my first time using this establishment and the decor was nice Once in the rooms I found them to be spacious and neat The couch was too hard for my liking but that’s just my opinion

The restroom, beds, tables and kitchen area was clean I would suggest the housekeepers check the pull out bed under the couch because food from a previous guest was found but mistakes happen and I don’t hold it against them or the company The staff at the front desk was professional and nice I didn’t have the pleasure to meet any other staff I did not get the chance to try the breakfast downstairs so I have no comment on it I did notice the gym downstairs and the restrooms and they were both clean The view from my room was amazing I could see the pool and the lights it was beautiful to look at I wish I had more time to enjoy all the amenities they had to offer

Matthew Rogers

I’m sum it up like this great ambiance and atmosphere the decor pulls you in and there’s a lot to look at The service is top notch everything is well stocked the breakfast is better than average with a lot of healthy options The rooms are really set up well with wide entrances big closets cuz you never know

They have large TVS and even larger bathrooms and come equipped with those common amenities, hair dryer, etc The staff is more than eagerly willing to do and complete almost any requests made, also they’re very knowledgeable of the surrounding area when it comes to activities and local restaurants new and local favorites

Jeremy Cline

Well-appointed rooms and surprisingly good breakfast Stayed here for a work conference going on nearby Two strange things happened while I was there: (1) this hotel has a bar, but no one works it at night – what?! (2) A few of us were working in the lobby area and were asked to relocate to make room for a staff luncheon

How’s that for good ol’ Texas hospitality?

I am a very satisfied about the exceptional service I have received at this property Last night my A/C broke at my home and rented a room at this Marriott property (close to my home) The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and quickly accommodated to our room by Ms

Sue Kunz, which was very pleasant and professional, and was overall very happy with how clean the room is The bed sheets are very clean and smell so good, too The staff are very professional at all times and will likely recommend this Marriott property to our family and friendsThank you!-Luis

I grew up in Round Rock and remember watching this hotel be built as a kid That said, it’s more than 20 years old and it’s starting to show While it’s still very nice and the lobby is updated, the rooms could use a refresh

Still giving it 5 stars because it was very clean, staff were nice, and the price reflects that it’s not the nicest, most modern hotel in town I also loved that it’s pet-friendly, as normally I have to stay at not-so-great places in order to have a pet-friendly hotel Would stay here again (Stayed here at Thanksgiving, 2021)

So glad I found this hotel! I typically stay in The Domain when I travel to Austin for work but wanted to try somewhere new It’s always good to venture out! The staff were so friendly, the hotel was clean, and the rooms were big One thing I do wish they would have had (like some other Hyatt Place hotels I’ve stayed in) was a market

I went downstairs to grab some drinks but there was only a small selection Maybe the full market was in a section I didn’t venture to? Either way, it was still a great stay! And parking is free!

Zaira Maze

Hotel was nice and clean We weren’t informed of the need to request housekeeping services as needed The pool on Tuesday 6/7 was gritty and cloudy, when it was brought to the attention of the front desk

He said he didn’t have control of when maintenance cleaned the pool Breakfast was good with the exception of the turkey Canadian bacon and the oatmeal needed cooked longer, otherwise it was an 8 out of 10 It was near many stores and restaurants which was nice It also had a bar and food to order in the lobby

Elvin J. Ramirez

The location is great It’s a quiet area and feels very safe The breakfast is good

The hotel is close to shopping areas The rooms are clean and the staff in the hotel are very nice The outdoor pool is a little small but it’s great that they have one We checked in late on Wednesday night and Melissa greeted us with such a warm smile and that makes such a big difference when you arrive tired from the airport She helped us with a few things we needed for our room and although she was super just, she actually came to our door with the items we needed! That’s a first! Melissa went out of her way to help us…so professional but also so nice and polite We definitely look forward to coming to this Hyatt Hotel again

I stayed in room 209 The sheets reeked of chlorine It wasn’t noticable during the day, but at night, it made it hard to sleep

One of the elevators was not working I liked the plants in the lobby It made the place feel much more comfortable The breakfast was good The shower wasn’t working I tried to pull the little thingy on the water faucet but it didn’t work so instead I just used the bathroom sink The toilet paper was too far behind the toilet which made it hard to reach The electrical outlets are kinda iffy Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’tIf I ever come again, I’ll bring my own blankets and pillows I think it’s genuinely a good hotel It’s just got some design flaws

Rodney Rodriguez

The hotel is very clean and beautiful with great breakfast but there’s room for growth especially in the service areaAccording to one staff member you need to request your room to be served otherwise they won’t clean it even if the do not disturb sign is not displayed at the door That’s exactly what happened to us, but once we addressed the issue they brought us everything we needed and the front desk gave us some treats

Rich Carey

There is only 1 working elevator at this establishment, which made for a crowded elevator ride, both up and down A couple that I visited with said that the elevator had been down for one entire week, even though it’s clearly marked that the service for the elevator has been scheduled With the currently working elevator, it would make a nasty shimmy when stopping at the top floor, which made for a scary/uncertain experience which was troubling

Within the room that we stayed, there was a very disgusting spot on the curtains, the buttons on the telephone in the bedroom did not work properly, there was a crack in the bathroom sink, the television set in the bedroom only connected to audio and would not connect to see what was on the screen, and the microwave oven was filthy/dirty/nasty We then reached out to the front desk and were told that the maintenance individual had already left for the night When we called back, there was no one available to pick up the call We then went downstairs and saw the front desk person sitting in the atrium casually visiting with another hotel employee When we went downstairs, with pictures, we shared with the front desk personnel what we had seen/experienced in the room and magically the maintenance person was still on sight to go upstairs and review the problems that we had reported I felt that the staff was very nonchalant and was overall not very helpful Also, we had been upgraded to the premium suits, complete with snacks and beverages, but were not made aware that the snacks and beverages would only be available at the initial check-in, and might only be replenished if we stayed more than four nights, since the hotel policy is that any room service/housekeeping only happens after a four-night stay I realize that a lot of things have changed since Covid, back in March of 2020, but I hadn’t realized just how much has changed

Honestly, my wife and I could not have been happier with our experience at Vintage Villas Sam, our coordinator along with Alex made sure we were on schedule and also kept our guests in checkThey constantly checked up on us and made sure we were properly hydrated (it was a hot day) by bringing us water

The venue was so easy to work with and Meghan made sure all the details were fleshed out We were also surprised by how good the food was! In addition, the venue was absolutely beautiful All of our guests were blown away by the views 10/10 stars!

Caroline Claunch

Vintage Villas was the perfect place for our wedding to happen! Samantha was an amazing coordinator for my mom and me to work with Everything went off without a hitch because of them Our wedding cake baker messed up the delivery date in their system, so we didn’t end up getting a cake delivered

Well Vintage Villas ran to HEB during our ceremony, bought a round cake and sheet cakes, and decorated them with our flowers It looked beautiful, we had a cake to cut, and the guests all said the cake was so good (but you can never go wrong with HEB 🙂 ) The guests also loved the venue and said it was the best food at a wedding they’ve ever had I would recommend this venue over and over to any couple or family wanting a stress free wedding/planning experience They are WONDERFUL The view drew me in, and the service sealed the deal

Overlooking Travis lake in Austin Gorgeous view and setting for Wedding Sunset was amazing

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, and GREAT location near the Oasis, lake, and Vintage Villas (where our event was held) Food trucks and a gas station are directly across the street A CVS next door and grocery store in front

Excellent service from the staff and tasty, tipsy drinks at the bar Ms Jean was extremely kind, helpful, and full of life; she made great drinks too! We enjoyed our stay A few others in our wedding party stayed at a different hotel and had an awful experience We Highly recommend the Hyatt No problems with excellent service and location

Maedilein

We stayed here for one night, saving us a drive for a nearby medical procedure the next day This hotel is clean and located well Loads of restaurants with 5-10 minutes

The only thing we didn’t like were the beds The pillows just get flat after a while, and the bed in our room seemed so hard Neither one of us got a good night’s sleep That said, if I stay here again, I’m bringing my own pillows from home The breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage links, breakfast potatoes, and french toast sticks, along with the other usual items like cereal and toast The cafe lattes are fabulous

A wonderful little resort The view is not one to write home about, as a development has completely blocked the view of Lake Travis, but the units are spacious and clean, and the bathrooms have been recently updatedBeds are comfortable, and the full kitchen makes for pleasant times enjoying both local foods and family cooked meals

There are a few places within 10 minutes of the resort, and downtown Austin is about a 45 minute drive away, so if a visit to the city is in your plans, this isn’t a bad optionThe pool is small, but a nice place to relax, and there are plenty of options for water sports from the sports and rec rental right next to the resort groundsOverall, wonderful place to relax for a week near Austin, and the only real downsides are the distance from activities (which for some may be an upside) and the view that no longer exists

Max Adventures

The wildlife abounds here From hundreds of friendly deer to to guinea fowl This spot is in a secluded area on a peninsula on Lake Travis

Therefore you don’t get the cross traffic which makes it very nice Everyone in this area is very friendly that’s a great place to take your kids With nearby Lago Vista there is a grocery store, barbecue, tacos, and a fast food place if you’re into that stuff However every room comes with its own kitchen I love the style of this place because it has that late seventies early eighties feel to it Very nostalgic feeling and I hope they never change it

The atmosphere was nice and the hotel was very clean Beautiful hotel The staff were very nice and accommodating

Unfortunately the good review ends there We ate at the restaurant in the lobby Paid 68$ Each for 3 inedible steaks covered in so much spice and salt you couldn’t tell they were steaks The manager was the worst however We have a service dog with us He asked what job he performed which is illegal as hell We told him and he finally left but what the hell? Why don’t you ask a person in a wheelchair why they’re in a wheelchair? The next morning we put out breakfast door tag out before midnight Nobody picked it up If we hadn’t had to take the dog out and seen it was still there then I guess we wouldn’t have gotten breakfast and we had a meeting that morning The eggs were beyond over cooked So in general yes we love the hotel but the kitchen and it’s manager need some work apparently

Room was large, lovely and clean with a huge balcony and fireplace I loved it Service was generally friendly – the one drawback was the check-in process

The man checking me in at the desk asked too many probing questions about my personal life He read the details of my ID aloud and commented on my address saying he knew where it was, then asked who I was “getting away from” at home, along with repeated questions for my plans that night that were beyond what I’ve ever been asked while checking into a hotel I’m sure he was clumsily trying to make awkward small talk, but for the money I paid, I didn’t think this was great guest experience and it started my stay off on an uncomfortable foot Just gentle, hopefully constructive feedback Everything else was wonderful

My wife and I just stayed in the Archer’s Den w/ Balcony Suite between 6/11 to 6/13 The suite is nicely appointed The tub in this suite is phenomenal and excellent for couples to share

The Nespresso machines are a nice touch and we enjoyed using them Now for the bad Our suite was on the Rock Rose side of the hotel So for the 1st night we had to endure the music from the clubs on Rock Rose that only seemed to get louder after 10:00pm and then kept going until 2:00am We didn’t even fall asleep until 2:30am I went down to the lobby in the morning and politely asked to be moved to the same suite on the other side of the hotel which I felt had to be quieter The front desk staff were nice enough to acquiesce to my request They also had our bags moved to the new suite The 2nd night in the suite on the Nordstrom side of the hotel was very quiet compared to the 1st night Unfortunately the water pressure wasn’t great in the 2nd suite and the sprayer head barely sprayed even when redirecting all of the water in the shower through it Both suites had some intermittent cooling issues with A/C during the night I had to sleep on top of the covers due to getting very hot with the thermostat set in the 60’s When you are paying $60000+ a night for your suite, you don’t anticipate dealing with these issuesBest Advice: Make sure to ask for your room to be on the Nordstrom side of the hotel, so you can actually sleep (especially if you are getting any of the suites with balconies) If you are on the Rock Rose side, I recommend staying at one of the clubs/bars on Rock Rose until last call and then going to sleep at 2:30am in your room

We stayed here because a friend recommended the place I have no complaints about the room, it was excellent However, customer service in this establishment is the worst

The front desk manager is so unprofessional, she would call you early in the morning to tell you that you need to stop by and pay even though you already have your credit card on file They made a mistake and you suffer for it As someone who works in hospitality industry, this is something that cannot be unseen No matter how much satisfied you are with your stay, poor customer service just makes it not worth it

I’d give this place a 45 based on a one night stay Check in was fast, receptionist was friendly

Got up to our floor Funky smell in the hallway & room Had to spray perfume to mask it Room was clean but I still take precautions knowing what I know about hotels Checkout was extended 30 mins Love that we could enter from side entrances Breakfast was good 4/5 Pillows got flat quick We couldn’t find the location b/c our maps kept saying arrived & we were by kohl’s/chili’s Had to call them told us they were behind Walmart

Reserved and received confirmation for a king size bed Upon arrival, desk clerk tried to say since we were IHG Rewards members, they “upgraded” us to 2 queen beds We told them that we reserved a king size bed and we’re not interested in what they considered an upgrade (we considered it a downgrade)

They told us they had no king size beds available I asked why they didn’t have one when we reserved one and received a confirmation that we reserved one They asked if we wanted to cancel our reservation We had no where else to stay They ended up taking $20 off each night we stayed (2 nights) We felt insulted that they tried to tell us 2 queen beds was an upgrade to 1 king bed Never staying there again! Corporate said they stood by the hotel decision on the $20 off What’s the purpose on making a reservation and getting a confirmation if the hotel is not going to honor the reservation?
