I was skeptical about coming here since it isn’t a big chain and I didn’t know what to expect But now this is my go to place The couple that manages the place are friendly

Well the woman is very nice The male never smiles and is very dry and a bit of a dud but none the less I feel taken care of if I need something The suite is awesome and roomy, we book one every stay There are really nice gardens all throughout the place and citrus tree everywhere We feel safe here and enjoy the quaintness I have no complaints

We stayed here last night after a 14hr drive for AZ When we walked in the room at 2am, the smell was almost too much to bare The carpets were absolutely disgusting

Stained with blood and what appears to be fecal matter The grounds are nice but I would not walk barefoot in the room The carpet doesn’t look like it’s been cleaned in 2 years The lock on the door does not work The second bedroom has blood stains on the wall After explaining our concern to the owner, her response was that wished I called instead of telling her in person I assume so the individuals eating wouldn’t hear it At the end of the day DO NOT STAY HERE, if you care about your health

The Garden Inn and Suites was such a great hotel, and I would stay there again without any hesitation The couple who seem to run it are extremely nice and attentive, and check-in/out was very easy The grounds are nice, and extremely well kept, this included the pool, which was spotless

It’s so nice to see all of the fruit trees and beautiful plants, and many if not all of the rooms have a small private patio where you can sit outside and enjoy the garden The room we were in was huge, and extremely clean The beds and linens were quality, and we were very comfortable The rooms definitely could use a but of an update/sprucing up, but again, the whole room and the bathroom were spotless They offer a breakfast in the mornings that is very good It includes all the typical stuff, including sausage/bacon, waffles which they will make you to order, and loads of fruit which is grown right at the hotelI wasn’t sure about this place when booking, because the website is dated and the photos were not the best, but I think this is because it’s just a small, mom and pop operation I’m very glad we booked the Garden Inn, and if we are ever back in Fresno I would stay here again without hesitation

Check in was simple, and can even be done ahead of time online Rooms were clean, and despite having several events booking rooms the same weekend, the hotel was quietHowever, stick to the pancakes and packaged breakfast options

The shuttle service for events was also not particularly reliable Some guests almost missed the start of our event, and the last return shuttle at the end of the night was 15 minutes early, so people had to rush outThere is also no bar service on the weekendsOverall, the rooms are nice, but the other amenities leave something to be desired I did not have a chance to use the pool, but the pool area was gated and appeared well kept

The rooms were nice but the upstairs neighbors were crazy loudI would have given this 5 stars based on the breakfast because it was amazing for a hotel I just wish I’d have got the top floor that I originally chose in the app then was told when I got there that they only had 1st and 2nd floor

Larry Robinson

I had no prior experience or knowledge of this property I was travelling by myself to attend a funeral I was welcomed to the property in a courteous and professional manner, the room was clean and well maintained and I experienced no problems

It is located close to Hwy 99 but far enough off so there was no noise There are gas stations nearby and it is close to Madera for food Very convenient

Very nice hotel for a Holiday Inn express Room was clean and smelled good Hotel has a beautiful lobby and office space

Breakfast was available, at opening the orange juice was empty, apple juice ran out and they at less than one bowl of oatmeal The person whom was making breakfast set up said they were out of everything, but looked as if he was just running late Check in was a littleslow but I think the young lady was new and being trained I would recommend staying here if in town Madera does not have many nice hotels but this one was an exception ( now if they could just get the Breakfast worked out)

Charles Carrillo

The rooms are clean and generally well kept However there has been an issue with the hot water for more than a week Before booking guests should call and verify the hot water issue has been resolved

Management has stated they are working on it, but no firm ETA on resolution is communicated, only statements of “a contractor is working on it” 8/16/2022

So first off I’d like to give a shout out to the front desk gentlemen named Bill he went above and beyond for us and I’m so thankful, because of him we were able to get a room when no one else would work with us he saved us from having to sleep in our car with our infant and I’m deeply grateful to him the stay was excellent except I missed breakfast so I don’t know about that it smelled good lol im so happy he was able to work around the fact that all we had was chime he still was able to make it happen for us with my mother in laws information and he deserves a raise or whatever u guys do lol

the room was good did look like housekeeping missed a few things but other then that the overall stay was great 10/10 would recommend

Excellent place Staff and rooms were awesome The little bar in lobby has great service and a nice little place to sit and get out of the room

The only thing that keeps this from 5 stars is the Pool It is an excellent pool and very cleanhowever, they add straight hose water in the morning making the pool very cold in the morning Perhaps they could do that at night after the hot daythen is has a chance to equalize for the morning swimmers

This is a very nice looking hotel There’s plenty of space and our bathroom was huge It looks like they had a bar downstairs, plenty of lounging area, a pool, printing station, laundry, vending machine, ice machine and a gym

There’s free breakfast with nice choices They had fruit, yogurt, bread, muffins, waffle maker, bacon, eggs, coffee, tea, juices, milk, cereal and maybe more that I’m forgetting The only issue I had at all was that the bathroom door was very large and mostly glass Even though it was a rippled glass you could still see the general shape and colors of people while they’re undressing, dressing or even using the toilet lol I didn’t want my older kids seeing me through the glass

DArcy Demianoff-Thompson

Absolutely loved this facility I am mobility challenged The bathroom was, hands down, the best one ever

The personnel are kind, helpful, and resourceful I had my dog with me and the personnel were loving and adorning towards her It made life so much easier I didn’t feel like I had to worry about anything during my stay And the breakfast options were super I wish I could have written down names to recognize the personnel’s accomplishments Suffice it to say- I had a great experience

Phenomenal place to stay over for personal or business Clean place, well kept, organized and staffed with friendly people Breakfast is open to self serve or ready to go sacks for early risers

Love the open area for family gatherings to socialize and eat lunch or dinners Very Accommodating Highly Recommended Follow signs to get into off main drag as some construction surrounding the property

Mai Woo

We stayed 2 nights here July 4th weekend The service staff were friendly Room was a little older and not as large for a double, but otherwise clean and worked for us

Close to freeway, Target/fast food, water park With that said, I wouldn’t stay here again Someone tried to steal our car’s catalytic converter while parked overnight (near entrance) our second night Loud, smelly drive home for mechanic to show us the cut lines! Not hotel’s fault but not even a courtesy return call for our inquiries if security cameras?

Shannen Stenerson

Stayed on the third floor and ALL night long I felt like I kept hearing a sliding door open close

ALL NIGHT LONG open close open close When I checked out I asked the front desk if any of the rooms had a sliding door When she asked me what room I was in I told her, and then she said oh it’s these doors ( the front doors to the hotel) there are two sliders and my room was over the doors It was miserable nights sleep In addition the whole floor when you exited the elevator had a strong smell of urine Will bot be staying here again I love Hampton but this was not a great stay

Lovely clean room, location is close to the freeway and train tracks so it can be a little noisy for light sleepers Really nice staff and also offers breakfast My main issue is that I was looking for a hotel with a heated pool

I called them around 11:30am and verified with a guy over the phone I then booked my room a couple of minutes later for 2 nights When I arrived and got settled in, I went down to the pool and was told it wasn’t heated This hotel was a little more expensive than another one I usually stay at but I didn’t mind because of the pool so I was really upset I ended up checking out early Other than that, I did have a good nights sleep

Laura Richter

The sheets were so soft The room was enormous Very quiet

Slept very wellHad to get off the freeway, cut thru town and get back on the freeway in the opposite direction to get to the required exit So that was weird but it was immediately visible from the freeway which was excellent and reassuring after the oddball directions to get there

Excellent place to stay, very clean inside and out (as it should be) beds very comfortable, no unpleasant smells, actually room smelled nice, parking lot with enough space to park our truck, pool was clean and nice, ( not to mention people leaves trash because some individuals are not polite to pick it up) but it was nice to swim around 😀, the bathroom in the room was in excellent condition, with big bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash to take a shower, I’ll keep staying in this hotel in the future for sure I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE ENJOY YOUR STAY

I booked two nights here for $450 because Holiday Inn is usually pretty nice and the options in Chowchilla aren’t great I pulled out the hide a bed and there were bugs and crumbs I didn’t even pull it all the way out and could clearly see they were bed bugs

I understand things like this happen so I packed up all our stuff and let the front desk know(politely) We were in the room maybe an hour The girl at the desk was nice and said she would let her manager know and kept apologizing I called today and spoke with the manager,Kayla, who told me she personally checked the room and there were no bedbugs and my pictures were too blurry They will not refund me Not even one night She said there is nobody above her except corporate and they won’t speak to customers I am so upset and disappointed in the lack of customer service I’m not seeking a freebie I wasn’t even offered a different room My kids and I literally slept on the floor of our empty house because I didn’t want to get bedbugs in our stuff I understand that they don’t care about me or my business but as a single mom $450 is a lot of money in these times I will be contacting corporate, BBB, and the health department as well If you do decide to stay here make sure you video tape everything because my pictures weren’t good enough

Kevin Cumiskey

Check in was fantastic Front desk made the stay great Would of been more stars if not for some setbacks

Bathroom door was shut when we arrived in room-upon opening-smell of death 💀💀 came out Rotten pipes possibly Could hear water leak inside walls when other shower was running Damage to bathroom was extensive No water pressure And to boot random bugs would appear in the bathroom Room otherwise was clean Rate was a little out of whack for area but it was Easter weekend
