I’ve frequented hotels for over 25 years and never experienced this before

the light blocking curtains are intentionally installed in such a manner that you cannot close them As others have complained, the beds are uncomfortably firm Then, the TV service went out just before 1AM for approximately 20 minutes I doubt I’ll ever stay here again

Michael Koon

The internet is terrible Never more than 5mb download speeds, less than 1 most of the time I called front desk about it, and despite advertising high speed internet, they apparently don’t offer it

Don’t plan on getting any work done on a laptop without having a mobile hotspot Kind of wild to have such slow internet at this kind of hotel these daysAlso, check your shower, mine only stayed hot for about a minute before running cold for a few minutes, and kept repeating this cycle After working in 100 degree heat all day, the cold water was pretty shocking

If I could give my experience for AC Hotel more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat We had walked into the AC Hotel, thinking it was our hotel we booked (it was not) Kim at the front desk left such an ASTONISHING impression on us that we left AC to book into our actual hotel, only to book out and return to AC for our one-night stay almost immediately

Kim went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and knowledge about the hotel THEN, to make an already great experience even better, Julian at the bar took it to the stars He was the only one there and still made sure we were consistently taken care of His recommendations on both food and drink were all 100 I highly recommend this hotel to everyone and I will never stay anywhere else

Shemar Chambers

My experience at the Marriott was really great I can say it’s the best hotel I’ve been in since Ive been in the United States this was a really good stay the way the carry the place sand how Lean it is anyone would want to go there it’s worth what you have to pay to get reserve one of the rooms The welcoming there is great it make you feel at home and I have to say this was my best hotel experience

The bed was really comfortable the bathroom was big and very nice didn’t really have any problems and the customer service was really great

N Garland

Did a quick one night stay at the AC Uptown Charlotte while in town for an event at the Spectrum Center This is definitely a great location if you ever going to a game, concert or other event there After walking out of the front door, I was at the Spectrum Center in less than two minutes

Hotel has an overall modern vibe The room was very nice and clean The bathroom was modern and clean as well AC Hotel brand is quickly becoming a favorite for short, low key trips

Love this hotel! From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with friendly smiles and overall courtesy The hotel itself is in a really nice location Everything about the hotel was clean as well, which is a big factor for me while booking a place to stay

After spending a day in the summer sun, it was nice to come back to complementary beer, wine, and refreshments The rooftop bar was perfect for a nightcap before heading to bed I would definitely stay at this hotel again the next time I go to Charlotte!

David Guirl

The room is very nice, especially the bathroom A minibar is advertised, but there isn’t one in the room The front desk directs you to the bar or some snacks in the lobby

They only have ice machines on every other floor Coffee bar downstairs is very minimal and not very hot, with no oat or almond milk The toilet paper is scratchy In our room, one towel and the duvet were stained The streaming TV service was choppy while trying to watch a movie The location is great, except for the loud cars racing up and down the street all night Valet is $40/day but very attentive and helpful

Camille Carter

So the hotel is well appointed and service was EXTREMELY PERSONABLE The rooms were clean’ish, decorated neatly and spacious Now the bathrooms were out of line

The shower rod kept falling My tub had a very slow drain (disgusting) The shower liner/curtain seemed a little gross I also questioned the cleanliness after seeing a blond hair on the bathroom wall Shower was TINY I always felt safe There was always someone within hearing range to help you out Valet is $40 but they are fast, efficient, and you have come and go privileges

I absolutely love this place I stayed two weekends in a row! The first weekend I was extremely upset because I took my children to swim for the weekend and they were unable to do so because some kids bullying my son! Melissa came down personally to make sure my son was okay But MSLILLIE IS OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!! She comforted my son and make him feel so much better and went out of her way to make us feel welcomed

It was only because of her that we came back for my son’s birthday on 4/16 our stay was way better this time around and we were looking forward to seeing her smile at breakfast! She is absolutely amazing and she definitely saved me as a customer because before her I didn’t want to stay there ever again!!!!! She is definitely and asset to the quality inn brand! We love MsLillie ❤️❤️❤️

Susan Nelson

Great price for the location to go to Carowinds The pool is alright, not very spacious but it was enough to satisfy the children We got the room with 2 queens and a sleeper sofa, it was the most spacious room we’ve had for that combination in the last few years of taking vacations with the kids

Breakfast has a great variety!

Nicholas Isola

Quality hotel, with a few small place to improve The entire hotel is relatively new, and you can tell with the excellent rooms Plenty of space to stretch out

Chromecast in every room is a nice touch Water pressure in the shower wasn’t great though Also, due to the angle of the hotel, inside rooms stare directly into other hotel rooms I do like the location, it’s close to restaurants, shops, and a park Unfortunately, this can make street parking difficult, and the parking policy wasn’t clear on website (it’s paid parking everyday, even if it’s not valet)

Leigh Ann Bailey

Hotel was clean, staff was courteous, and breakfast was good Great location for South End However, if you want to sleep this is not the place, muscle cars were racing outside of our window much of the night, partiers coming in at 3:00am, loud and laughing

I’m exhausted Perhaps it would be better if you requested an inside room This was a Sat night

We came here for a little staycation We had a package for a resort credit and breakfast We spent our day at the spa Saturday

They were excellent This review is not for them The room was your typical hotel room The bed was awful Hard as a rock My husband even asked me at midnight if we wanted to go home The pillows were feather pillows that withered away to nothing when you laid your head on them I’m going to have to rerun to the spa after laying on that rock all night I then tried to use a gift card for portion of our stay After running the card 6 times I was told they couldn’t get it to go through Didn’t bother to call for help to find out why Come to find out my card was charged $1 every time they ran it! For the money I paid this was an awful stay I’ve stayed at hotels that cost way less and had a better experience Not the luxurious stay I was hoping for DisappointedWas also not impressed with the indoor pool and hot tub area Needs a major upgradeCould hear every noise that was made in the hallwayConstruction was the greatest view 👌👌Nothing luxury about this luxury hotel go spend your money somewhere better

Mustafa Azhar

I came here for an event and stayed one night When we arrived, and very nice porter took care of everything and took us to our room Rooms were very clean, as well as the overall hotel

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful The view was nice, and the hotel is actively working on making it even better with upgrades The price to performance is quite decent I recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere luxurious to stay!

Kent Pendergast

Worst hotel experience of my life Came down here for a couples vacation planned with the normal activities: sitting by the pool, spa, room service, etc

We were excited to enjoy the full resort experience; boy were we disappointed We originally planned to stay for 3 nights but checked out a day early because the experience was so bad Even checking out required an hour long argument with the manager Let me start from the beginning The room we paid extra for with “views of the golf course” was a construction site No mention of this on the website and certainly not reflected in the nightly rate It was dirty, the bed was hard, the balcony had a colony of roaches living on it Called for pillows at 4pm and never received them We were not notified that housekeeping was by request only and even when we requested it, they never came 20% gratuity included because they know the service is terrible Room service was same quality as a Denny’s When we checked out, the bellboy never showed up after 40 minutes of waiting Only redeeming part of this trip is that the spa experience was great and the staff there were quite nice and talented Everything about staying at the hotel was a nightmare and I will not be staying at another Marriott if this is their definition of ‘luxury’

We have used this hotel a couple of times for full week large group training We have had to make numerous adjustments during the weeks (aka last minute), and they have been extremely accommodating The catered food options are delicious, and the sales, front desk, and event staff are super attentive and friendly

There is a fabulous balcony next to the meeting rooms (shady but nice and breezy), and the pool deck is also very nice There are tons of places to eat, shopping, and most anything else you might need within walking distance to the hotel, so there’s no need to rent a car for the week We have definitely been pleased

I stayed one night over St Patrick’s Day The hotel is what one would expect for a Hilton Garden Inn They have always been very professionally run in my experience

I enjoy having room on 7th floor as it was nice views The room was very nice It had large shower and large room The bed was very comfortableI liked the bar in the lobby They had good selection of beers including some local brews The prices were very reasonable Parking is convenient to the hotelThe staff was friendly although there was not a ton of interaction as I’ve gotten accustomed to self check in and digital key on the Hilton Honors app I really like just going directly to my room without having to interact with people or wait in any lines

**Beautiful Hotel with Access to Everything **From the lobby to the room this hotel delivered a clean, professional experience I was traveling here for business I was able to check in with access to my room within minutes upon my arrival The front desk staff was very nice understood I was in a hurry for meeting and helped me quickly

The lobby is great for business meetings One on ones are perfect with plenty of spacious seatingThe room had lots of USB plugs along with the lobby furniture Again when it comes to business it’s hotel really did a great job at marketing to the traveling business professionalLots of eating options nearby as well

My husband, my dog, and myself stayed here for 3 days/2 nights Although we did not utilize the pool it looked clean and smelled like the ocean The elevators did not smell bad like in most places, the hallways were very clean

The room was immaculate well stocked, and in great condition The bed was the bed was a little on the harder side but that is just a matter of my preference The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the restaurant was clean The exterior was clean We had no issues with any of the staff while we were there Our dog felt welcomed and comfortable All-in-all a wonderful experience and I would definitely visit again

Dom Gray

Horrible! Writing a very honest review to warn people of the state of this hotel When booking I did not get an accurate feel of how bad things are here or I would’ve made sure to avoid this hotel I was very close to leaving and finding better accommodations which is a 1st and I have stayed at various star hotels

Pro- Excellent locationCons- Cleanliness, amenities, air quality on some floors, but 1st and foremost Cleanliness! Our 1st room was so dirty that it seemed like all they did was change the sheets The floors were sticky and nothing was cleaned They did not supply enough towels for our 4 guests and when asked we never received any new ones Thankfully my children were visiting with family at another hotel for a couple of days so we didn’t have to keep begging for common items For this price they should be ashamed to even welcome guests into this place Of course there is a shortage of staff (everywhere) but if you cannot even clean the rooms properly they should limit guests to the staff available Our 2nd room was at least acceptable enough for us to finish off our stay without leaving We considered the pool when booking but would not dare step foot in there The water did not look clean and there was a sock that I’m sure will still be there once we check outThe icing on the cake was housekeeping knocking on the door at 9am on checkout day For this price please book somewhere else unless the location is all you are worried about

Chrisopigi Maggiorou

It was very good when I was there 7 years ago This year I went again, I believe it is very expensive for what they giveThe food it was good

Many closed area at the inside garden area, it was open only the bar area Very good tips the security at the parking lot at night time Very good the girl with the long black hair at the bar at night shift

Lovely staff, all of them I encountered were professional but still warm and personable Pretty clean Dogs allowed-I could smell dog in the lobby a little but a worthwhile trade to me, but if you’re sensitive to it you will notice

Personally so long as there are no physical remnants I’m happy, and it was nice and clean Sink and shower drains a little slow, happens with older rooms, but the toilets were no problem at all Cozy interiors, AMAZING mattresses Room clean, odor free, thoroughly checked, and the worst I could find was the vacuuming could be a little more careful around corners It’s got to be a top notch resort to get a full 5 from me This was an excellent hotel I will be back, likely often

David Stoller

HiltonI made the mistake of choosing this hotel again after a bad experience before This time of course disappointed yet again I choose that there were 2 adults and a child

Yet all there was in the room was a bed and no pull out or couch even The digital key wouldn’t work and no one would answer the phone just like the previous stay I walk down to the desk and an employee is standing there right beside the phone I get a key and go in the room to find the sleeping issues On top of that the quilt is barely thicker than the sheet with very little warmth to it This was ridiculous I call to ask for a cot, of course they don’t have any He tells me there should be a pull out yet there isn’t He says he will call me back but never does 30 min later I call back to yet again no one answering the phone for 5 minutes I walk down and there he stands I ask about the issues of the cot and he says they haven’t been able to find one yet he is just standing there h another employee just behind the wall He acts like he is trying to find another room for us but isn’t actually doing anything for 15 minutes while I stand there I ask for a bunch of blankets so I can make my daughter a bed on the floor and he hands be 2 cheap rough blankets I ask if there are any comforters or something I can get to lay down and he says that is all he has I am beyond ill and fed up with this hotel and Hilton Honors I need to go to bed and I need rest for tomorrowThen they charge my card again and when I call about it they have a very bad attitude and talk down to me

David Harrington

Asked to leave the restaurant area due to having a service animal

Tried to explain that’s against ADA regs and the clerk asked what the regs say Well if you don’t know maybe you shouldn’t try to enforce an illegal rule Then he said I have an attitude OK even if I do you probably should keep that to yourself since you are in the hospitality businessI attached a photo of some of the regs so maybe the manager and staff will educate themselves Probably not but its worth a shot

Updated to add – holiday inn keeps apologizing for my comfort being affected This isn’t just comfort, it’s safety I have no idea what the fumes were coming from, only a blurry video my husband took while I was outside with the kids that shows maybe a can of paint thinner? It was something like paint thinner or a stain or varnish

It was certainly something that should have been done without guests in the hotel and with better ventilation I am not exaggerating when I say the smell in the lobby was overwhelming and I could already begin to smell it in our room shortly after they opened whatever caused the fumes I told the staff member at the front desk that I did not think it was safe for anyone including her and she did open the doors to the lobby The fact that HI keeps focusing on “comfort” and not safety is concerning The primary reason we left was for my family’s healthThis is horrible My family (including 2 young kids) was awoken by the sound of a sander Yes, you read that correctly I then toldMy husband that my throat felt funny and my daughter was coughing He said he felt fine so I thought I was being paranoid… until I smelled fumes Sure enough, they are staining or varnishing in the lobby right outside our room The smell is so overwhelming This is dangerous in general but could be life threatening for a baby! This is absolutely absurd

David Waszmer

This hotel is very accommodating and convenient to many stores and restaurants in the area The staff were very accommodating and kind The young lady that checked me in went above and beyond

The renovations to the rooms are great I look forward to returning and seeing the renovations to the first floor The breakfast was set up in the conference, but that did not affect the excellent quality and the service from the friendly attendant

Nothing spectacular to say about the hotel We booked through AirBnB and that will be the last time I book a hotel through them It was made to seem like it was a normal condo room but in reality it was just a standard king room

Our room had a few flaws for $150 a night, we had the same issue that others have complained about, the headboard was peeling and we woke up with black flakes on our heads and the pillows The beds were not comfortable, they felt like they were just bedding laid on a pull out for a couch The sheets seemed clean, but we didn’t remove the covers and really look Laying in the bed you could see all the dirt on the air vent though that hasn’t been cleaned in a while The room was spacious but could have used a mini fridge instead of a instant espresso machine The bathroom wasn’t bad but the shower floor could use a mat or something, it was super slippery when I walked in and almost fell, I thought it might have been from the cleaner but my partner pointed out it could have been from conditioner from a previous guest and not cleaned at all Finally parking, it’s $25 non-negotiable for parking, $35 for valet It’s worth it to pay $10 more for valet, I didn’t personally park myself but heard it’s a nightmare to get in and out of the parking area We didn’t eat at the restaurant on site, it was far too expensive for us nor did we use the roof top bar because the hotel was packed and riding the elevator, we were constantly stopped by other riders and staff They had 4 elevator, you’d think one would be staff only for this very reason

The hotel online looks very nice however in person it’s a different story The parking garage is not very lit and it looks sketchy My room plumbing sucked water was not draining properly

Toilet wouldn’t flush unless you flushed twice The decor was nice looking however the furniture was peeling bed off the headboard The next morning when we woke up we noticed a spot between the beds that looked like dried up vomit that housekeeping did not clean up from previous guests Would not recommend

The room was huge, but the couch had a stain, the bathroom needed updating bad, the door handle was hard to open and we struggled to get into our room, no coffee maker in our room but lots of coffee pods, the staff was friendly and the lobby was nice I’m glad they had free parking and the location was convenient Breakfast was okay not the worst I’ve had at a hotel

This hotel needs lots of updating though No fans in the bathroom and the shower had cracks in the tile

The only good thing I can say about this place is the fact the young man who was working when I checked in was exceptional (Maurice)The place is dated, the outdoor lighting does not work, there was no hot water in the sinks, until it ran for approximately 20 minutes, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, parking is very limited and tight, the exterior doors that are supposed to lock after dark were not locked, mold on bathroom ceiling, toilet seat looked like it had been melted, corner molding falling off, dirty ceiling from vent, shampoo and soap dispensers empty, garbage disposal smelled, and the hallways smelled bad My company paid for the room, but I do not wish to stay there again

It reminded me of Days Inn quality

Staying here was going well until there was a fire Sunday morning I was down stairs having breakfast and my sister was in the room She said the smoke alarm was going off

But the alarm never went off downstairs That was a red flag to me not to mention None of the staff had no training or direction on what was supposed to be taking place People was just waking in and out of the building even before the fire department cleared the building Just very concerning to me because I know Policies and procedures You guys may want to update this before something terrible happens

We booked a King room and it was a very big room but it smelled musty and felt wet We cranked the AC to help and after a while it did but we had to the same thing each day when returning to the room after being out all dayThe shower didn’t drain so we were in standing in water while showering

And we had zero room service We had to go get fresh towels and tpIt was disappointing because we booked the hotel based on the reviews and ratings of othersNow, the location was great and I thought the breakfast offered enough to give you a good start and the attendants kept it stocked And the front staff were nice So, some positives but still the stay fell below our expectations

My wife and I stayed only for one Saturday night for her birthday I contacted David the general manager to see if we could check in early, the response was instantaneous When we pulled up to the hotel the 2 valets were so gracious in the cold and were very helpful with our luggage

Brandon was at the desk to knock our socks off with his hospitality and knowledge, he spoke to us like old friends The room was immaculate when we arrived, we met a dozen housekeepers during our stay, every one of them were moving fast and very friendly The rooftop bar was well stocked and would be worth the stay in warmer condition The bar in the lobby is a well stocked craft bar with very knowledgeable bartenders, who will creat the best drink in Charlotte We had dinner in Dean’s steakhouse on the first floor Saturday night The staff in the restaurant is second to none, the food was magnificent and delivered at the speed of light There is so much more that I would love to tell about this hotel and a great location but you will have to spend the night yourself I would like to thank the staff, as this is the best night I have spent away from home in many years

Had a great one night stay here This is a new modern property with great onsite dining and bar options Titanium benefits were honored as expected and I was upgraded to a nice corner suite

Great check in experience with friendly and welcoming staffLocation is good and within walking distance of most of the downtown area Valet parking through the hotel is available however there is also a self-park garage adjacent to the hotel I would certainly return to this property the next time I’m in the Charlotte area

This place is amazing!!! Stayed here for a work conference and was met with exceptional customer service of the valet staff, bellmen, & front desk The lobby was clean and smelled soo good! The only disappointment was upon entering the room the bed wasn’t made completely and there were crumbs in certain areas in the room All in all I had a fantastic stay! The rooftop bar is a must see – it really captures the beauty of uptown Charlotte

I also want to make a note of the front desk staff Kendall who was always so pleasant and always made herself available to me which I found comforting Definitely plan on staying here again 🙂

Common areas and room furniture are nice, modern, and clean Staff are really helpful and I appreciated that they were flexible about late checkout Not all amenities were open and the hotel seemed understaffed; beds could be comfier, and the hallways could stand to be updated

The snack area in the lobby was nice, though Overall, not at all a bad place to stay!

When we checked in, we were told the bistro had a complimentary breakfast in the morning Guess that was just a lie? The only options available were $9 breakfast sandwiches that did not look appetizing The hallways of this hotel smell like burnt feet

The shower in the room smelled of mold and was not ventilated at all Overall, the whole place has a musty feeling that is not welcoming The sheets were like construction paper Unlikely that we stay here ever again Beware!

Kellz W

Room was clean and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience We went downstairs for breakfast and had the absolute best time chatting with Ms/Mrs Roshella at the breakfast bar She provided exceptional customer service and made sure we had everything we needed

She definitely deserves a bonus 🤗 I really enjoyed my stay

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in It’s right in the middle of Charlotte’s downtown and walking distance from highly rated restaurants and fun things to do like the science museum In the room we had the view was fantastic

You have to pay for parking but we didn’t need to drive most places because the location is so walkableEveryone we interacted with was very nice and accommodating You can tell that the staff are proud of the hotel At night they had cookies out and you can enjoy some very good free tea and coffee any timeThe rooms are amazing I stayed with my husband in the Premier Room, which has one queen bed The furniture was in good condition, very classy but not old There are charging outlets for different types of devices The TV was very nice and had a good sound system A few times I felt like I could hear my neighbors a little bit it wasn’t bad Also I love the shower It had a horizontal showerhead thing so you could get two sources at once Water pressure was greatSo yeah we loved it! Hope we can stay again some day

My sister and I were in town for a girl’s night We booked a room at the Dunhill through a third party, at a discounted rateWe enjoyed our stay! The lady at the front desk was very helpful and kind

Parking was super easy There’s a garage right behind it and you grab a ticket and they validate it at the front desk There’s a bar in the lobby The room was small but in a quaint-has everything you need-kind of way Very clean I would look into staying again!

Beautiful accommodations, what a charming place From the moment I arrived at the Inn, I knew it would be a relaxing and tranquil stay My flight was delayed, and the staff at the Inn were very accommodating and kind

Although I spent a short time there on business, I would love to return It was beyond perfect! I appreciate you all for making me feel so welcome

Elizabeth Martin

Stayed at the Morehead for a wedding this past weekend We were repeatedly told to make the place our own Service can’t be beat – Xzavier is an amazing wonderful person! He’s extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and jumps right in to lend a hand/help with any need and Elizabeth was friendly and helpful with both the setup and my food allergies for breakfast

Would definitely recommend and would stay here again – thanks for a great weekend!

Kathryn Reddick

My husband and I chose to have our intimate wedding (40 guests) at the Morehead Inn and it was perfect!! Our families rented all the rooms on the property for 3 days / 2 nights, and we certainly felt like we were having a little family reunion which was perfect after the pandemic 🙂 The Inn is beautiful, the staff are super nice and helpful, especially on the big day Dorrys (the wedding director) was amazing to work with You won’t regret having a wedding (or any other celebration!) at the MHI 🙂
