Tru by Hilton was a nice place to spend the weekend while visiting my husband! The room was nice and clean, although I wish there had been a bathtub along with the shower and a bathroom fan – the towels did not dry out in between showers The free hot breakfast was good, although the pancake station was always very busy and a bit slow (online it said there was a waffle machine instead), but they were delicious Staff accommodating and quickly brought refills of eggs, hot cocoa, and coffee! Great back patio was fun to sit and relax

Wish we also used the pool table, but did not have time

Very convenient location Close to everything, only about 3 mi from the air force museum The rooms could use some updating

We had Jacuzzi room Room was very clean The staff was excellent Very friendly! The breakfast buffet was very good, a little something for everyone The staff that was stocking it was very friendly, coming around asking if everything was ok,and if we needed anything The pool was clean as well Overall, we were very pleased, on a side note, the rooms are not soundproofed at all We were on second floor and first night the room above us had someone that was up most of the night walking around, heavy footed which was quite annoying and a room next to us was a bit loud I always travel with ear plugs and a white noise sound machine so was able to lessen the noise Will definitely return again Very hospitable staff!

Mrs Mimi G

I could show you the room, but you can see that online After a long day of travel and work, I found this little gem of a hotel hidden Picked a room with the jacuzzi and relaxed! Although they were out of the wine, they offered some chocolate 🤷🏻‍♀️The view was especially nice because There was not a lot of traffic, so I could keep the blinds open and enjoy the peace and quiet

Breakfast was great, and checking out was super simple!I was a little hard to find, but I like the fact that it was hidden!

This was not the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, but it was quite expensive ($163+ for one married couple) and at that price it should be WAY better than it is! You probably want to know if I saw bed bugs – and fortunately, I didn’t, but everything else about the place is a LOW “C” grade OUR most maddening complaint was the comfort level – there wasn’t one We were there in May, with seasonal weather, and the place was stiflingly hot! The common areas on the first floor all felt like the pool room, and our room, on the 2nd floor was even hotter

The room AC (which was one of those wall-through units which CAN turn a room that size into a refrigerator) was locked on one setting I KNOW it was locked because NONE of the buttons would respond to any command – couldn’t turn it up, couldn’t turn it down, couldn’t turn it off – nothing! I’d say it was about 75 in there, which is just too high for us – especially after a shower Desk clerk said vaguely that all they could do was move us to another room Well we had to leave for an appointment very soon and I would have bet money that any other room would have been locked on 75 too – especially since the common areas were also uncomfortable, so we just put up with it for one night and found other accommodations for the rest of the trip

Oh My Word

This place is pure heaven! Obviously an entire room dedicated to hot tub bliss is an instant yes However, there was so much else to love The fridge and pantry was stocked The bed was huge and comfy The check in and out was so effortless They made a guest reference guide that included everything you might need Seriously, I don’t want to tell the world how amazing this place is because I want it all for myself but to keep it secret would be cruel Have a great time!

Michelle Gibson

BEWARE! When I checked in to the Inn, I was shown around the property and was told by the owner that there was a “friendly ghost” that resided upstairs in the attic The room that I rented was also upstairs on the other side of the attic door When I was too afraid to close my eyes, I left the premises

I expressed my fear to the owner and requested a refund for my nights stay She was harsh, not friendly and non agreeable Very very bad customer service I would have been fine if she wouldn’t have told me about the ghost!

Ed Sowinski

Rode my bike out from Columbus to spend a night of exploring the Oregon district and visiting as many local breweries as possible ( there are several ) My host was super nice and invited me to share a glass of wine with her and some locals on the patio Then over to Blind Bob’s for the bestest burger ever! Great trip! I will do it again next year

I’m originally from Dayton and recently went home for a visit I had been wanting to stay at this location so finally booked a couple nights Upon arrival Lisa was amazing and SUPER fun! We had several good laughs before I went up to what was considered a king suite

The only real difference is that it had a large sitting area The room was impeccable as was the rest of the hotel I couldn’t believe it The staff were so friendly and constantly checking to make sure I didn’t need anything The parking garage was great and super easy I normally stay at the full service Marriott by The University of Dayton but in the future I’ll be staying at this brand instead

Samantha Cobin

My family and I just stopped really late at night and left early but it was honestly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in The toys in the lobby were a nice added touch for my daughter It was so clean and comfortable

The little shopping market was great, the night before we stayed in a hotel that had an odd smell and no where to buy water so I appreciate how easy and comfortable this hotel makes it to be a guest

Tamara Berg

This is a shout out to Patrice at the Hilton on Millennial in Dayton, who should be promoted to bar manager and allowed to work with local distributors to improve everything about the bar experienceWe sat down at the bar to no cocktail menu, no dry white wine and no tap beer Disappointed for sure, as we had hoped to hang out for a few cocktails

So, I ordered a bullet bourbon straight up with ice on the side, 2 cherries and a orange slice Patrice measured out an exact shot and asked me if I wanted one or two Since one shot barely filled the bottom of the glass, I asked for 2 My partner orders 2 12-ounce cans of a beer from the brewery across the street Our bar bill was $38When I questioned the amount, Patrice told us it was $10 for each shot This was a standard bar shot that complied with “corporate”I paid my bill, left a 18% tip, and explained why we would never come back Patrice was polite and said she was sorry, but doing her job She left and came back and said she spoke to a manager not on location, who approved a credit to our room to take $30 off our stayI was impressed by the way Patrice handled this and as we continued our conversation, it’s clear she has a vision for the bar and the hotel!!!! This is the kind of employee you should be promoting to leadership!!! Seriously, Patrice is a great asset you should be developing to lead this place!

A wonderful place to stay When we checked in the staff was friendly and we entered the elevator which was clean our whole stay When we walked into our room it was completely clean

We were provided with lots of towels, a clean shower that has body wash and shampoo, as well as hand soap which was very soft on our skin and moisturizing The beds were very comfy in my opinion My mom would probably rate the beds 4 because they were “a little hard, but the pillows were good” The TV has quite a few channels and we watched The Office our whole stay We were also provided with a closet, drawers, and some shelves for our belongings As for the gym it was quite good They had an elliptical, a bike, some treadmills, and weights They also had a pool which we didn’t use My mom was disappointed that there was no hot tub but that’s okay There was also some coffee and tea bags provided and even a hot water maker so you could make it in the comfort of your room Overall a great stay even if we only were here for a night One last thing, breakfast was very good and had lots of options for drinks and food, and the staff kept up on making sure items were stocked and clean

Lexie Althore

Very clean! Great service and location Delicious breakfast I am happy staying here while I’m in town for work

I’m night shift and the blackout curtains are great and I haven’t had any trouble sleeping during the day between shifts I only wish I could use the pool late at night when I’m off with adult only hours, but it closes at 10

Arielle Willer

I wanted to like this hotel, but was disappointed Good things: nice lobby, nice hang out patio with gas fire fixture, spacious rooms, beds fairly comfortable Disappointing things: breakfast very simple affair and gets boring after 2 days, pool is absolutely frigid and unpleasant to swim in

My 3 year olds lips turned blue The front desk said it was set to 80 something degrees, but the pool room is blasted by the a/c, so it’s just extremely cold I overheard another guest saying it had been like that for months Pretty disappointing when one of the reasons we chose it was the indoor pool

The hotel/rooms “look” nice but that’s about itAfter a long travel, the desk clerk was extremely rude and short while checking in As I was confirming our room she answered the phone mid conversation and ignored my questions after handing me the room keys

Not to mention every clerk throughout the weekend looked as I’d they had just rolled out of bed So unprofessional Our room space and bed were decent, however the shower ran out of hot water after 5 minutes every evening and the counters/surfaces were not cleaned/wiped down from the previous guests With Covid, I would expect a hotel to be on top of their sanitizing game We had to shower as quickly as possible which was not relaxing at all The toilet wouldn’t flush correctly so we had to press the lever twice every time Breakfast wasn’t available for the weekend and the pool was closed due to “humidity making the fire alarm go off”The elevators rarely worked as well For the price we paid, we would expect at least decent hospitality, a clean room, access to amenities and a warm shower to relax in after traveling If I were a Hilton I would be ashamed to have my name associated to this place

Julie Mikulich

We travel often for travel baseball, and we prefer to stay at Hilton Garden Inns This one has a very fantastic, positive, helpful staff, but the hotel could use some improvements Definitely way understaffed

We stayed for 3 nights Not enough pool towels The cleaning staff and the breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed (but still super friendly) Please give Tania a raise – she went above and beyond for my family Thermostat never worked right in our room (507) Breakfast was great but the voucher system is a pain At previous Hilton Garden Inns, you just give your room number and order If we paid for breakfast with our room reservation, we shouldn’t need vouchers (that we weren’t even given upon initial check-in) This hotel could learn a lot from the one in Carmel, IN! Would love for both managers to chat with each other someday about their hotels!

Tiffany Mohler

Rooms are very nice, front desk was very nice The reason I’m giving lower then 5 star is because nothing grosses me out more then random hairs that don’t belong to me With that being said I have a suggestion, either use paper towels, a Swiffer, or vacuum the hairs before you mop

Also the pillows were like a big puff of air No support So maybe bring your own pillow The staff was very nice and when we checked out the lady that my husband spoke with at the front counter deserves 5 stars on customer service We would possibly stay here again

My family and I were traveling through and stopped just to sleep I have an autistic 6 year old who likes to fall asleep in a chair so I made sure the hotel room had a chair before I booked the roomWhen we entered the room there was a giant empty space where the chair should have been as well as a damaged area of floor

The toilet in our room had diarreah or blood up the back of the toilet bowl before anyone had used itThe room that was next to us was having a dispute and the door between rooms doesn’t block soundI would have requested a different room, but moving rooms would have been traumatizing for my son I had planned to stop and discuss my experience at the front desk, but someone was already doing that and there was only one employee I didn’t have time to waitThe bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice

Molly Howard 101 (Baby ray ray)

I walked in to a few hotels in the area to book a small Bday party for my 12 year old The front desk man booked me for 2 weeks out I walked in to explain it was a party in the pool, but only 3 people will stay

I said I would like to blow dry the girls hair before they went home He said he would get me a first floor room if I called the morning of The day we checked in and started the party The manager was watching on the camera, made us move our cookies and brownies Then he made us move stuff a second time Then he literally kicked us all out of the pool Saying I had 20 kids There were 9 and they were all well behaved I wish I would have been told when I walked in to book, that we could not be in the pool I was yelled at by the manager saying we were told the rules A true, flat out Lie!!! The manager was the rudest person ever He should go back to skate boards and leave management to an adult

K LL

My room was not clean I found a pill (medication) on the floor of the bathroom,( I have a service dog that could have eaten it) the toilet didn’t work, (didn’t flush)I arrived at 10:20 pm and checked out at 5:30 am

I realized that the toilet didn’t work at 1:45 am so, I wasn’t able to use it when I got up at 5am to leave I reported all of this to the man at the front desk and told him I wanted my points back(I’m a diamond member, the highest level tier) I used points for the stay, he pretended like he returned them by giving me a receipt with no chargesThe next day I had not seen the points return so, I called the hotel Management emailed me that they were NOT returned my points BECAUSE I didn’t report the problems to them, there were no notes on my file 🤨 They are a bunch of liars 🤥 And I will be filing a complaint with corporate

Other than a minor issue with the kitchen sink leaking under the cabinet (easily addressed with a mixing bowl for the duration of our stay) everything was perfect The 1 bedroom suite was more than enough space for 2 adults and our cat (she gives it 5 paws) for our 2 night stay Next time we’re in the Dayton area, we will definitely be staying here again

The staff was wonderful and the hotel is in a terrific location

David Hewitt

It’s simple and cleanBut, two appliances (one in the kitchen and bathroom) were not working properly There is also no recognition of status

Breakfast is basic and parking is “free”Missed the complimentary happy our, but it is a nice touchThe Staybridge is fine, but there are better choices in the area Key appliances not working in the room was disappointing

Baxter Exum

Overall, we had a great 4-night stay Mary at the front desk was outstanding As others have noted, though, the room had a weird layout

The TV was perpendicular to the bed, making it hard to watch And the bathroom is on the other side of the bed, laid out in a way where there’s no privacy and you nearly have to step into the shower to be able to close the door No hot tub, only a pool (I must have just missed this in the list of amenities) Everything else was great

Stayed 2 nights ( June 24 – June 26 ) Area was safe and stores/restaurants nearby Room ( Suite ) was clean and all amenities provided as advertised

Ample free parking Room cleaned after 1st night and new/additional towels provided Front desk personnel were polite and friendly Free hot and cold breakfast provided each morning in good sized area for guests Hot coffee provided via machine/dispenser was very good flavor wise My wife and I would stay here again anytime All in all stay was pleasant

Niki Mastny

This is a great, well cared for hotel For the price point, they offer a great free breakfast bar with your stay that they actually maintain and refill during breakfast hours The breakfast area is open all day and you can hang out there if you get take out from somewhere local or for playing games, hanging out, etc

The pool is well maintained The room was clean and didn’t have a musty smell as some hotels can that have AC units in themThe employees were helpful and kind I would recommend this place for travel multiple nights for more than just a place to sleep, but somewhere you could hang out after businesses are closed and feel comfortable

lyle Wittmann

I travel for work and stay exclusively at Country Inn This hotel is always clean and I have no issues with the room whatsoever The owners/employees I can’t say enough great things about

Every time I request or needed anything, it was provided or taken care of quickly The staff is always so polite and very attentive when I see them One even brought two freshly cooked cookies to my room just because I mentioned earlier in the day how good they were This is my experience at this hotel now for the past two two week They count on my return business while I’m working in Ohio

We stayed at this Hilton when we went to a retirement party Everything was so clean and EVERYONE was so nice The breakfast bar workers made life so nice with a cheery smile and a kind word in the morning

Our room was clean and comfortable I would stay there again Kroger’s is close We didn’t go to any restaurants in the area, as we had family functions to attend I loved how our room was close to the door and elevator Was on 4th floor Was perfect! Shower was perfect too — water pressure was goodeverything was perfect! Thanks

Good points include: quiet, clean, enough room to do yoga or stretch, great hill in the back to let your dog run around, and specialty coffee machine available in lobby 24 hours a dayNegative points include: spotty cell service in the location (AT&T), internet not functioning properly, AC returns to setting of 84 degrees after 6 hours, causing you to wake up sweating to turn it back down again, toilet rocks back and forth (room 133)Completely overpriced (room $175 with pet fee of $75) considering the negative points above, but was in a pinch and could not find another place at the time

Pastor Jess

Front desk men were kind and attentive, location is gorgeous and well kept by staff Brandon looked hungover for meeting applicants Jennifer never returns calls or emails

Do not work here because they do not communicate with staff and it’s all narcissistic white people hiring only folks of color We should have diversity in the workplace and not mock history It’s disgusting

We have stayed there multiple times and always chose this hotel! Pool and hot tub is great and always clean when we come The rooms are spacious along with the bathroom being big as well! Showers always have liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner Great hotel all around! Super close to Bob Evans even though the hotel serves good breakfast, I love waking up and getting Bob Evans

Laken Bowens

Way over crowded The pool area compared to a lot of other Drury hotels is tiny! The hot tub was disgusting! Tons of dirt and grime floating in it Hardly could enjoy the area

One elevator for the entire hotel was madness! Walked ages around 2 halls to get to room Wait time for the elevator was ridiculous It was so slow The eating times had 0 seating left every night Every amenity was too small for how many rooms they had fully booked

I don’t normally write reviews, but this one is necessary If I could give this place negative stars, I would The room vents had black dust all over them from not being cleaned-My son and I developed a cough while we were staying here

The paint is peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom The tub has stains all over it The bathroom fan doesn’t work The toilet does not flush right The chairs and booths in the downstairs eating area are so disgusting, my six year old would not even sit down, and honestly, I didn’t want to either We only had the breakfast here once because everything is so dirty The mattress pad on the pull out couch has pee stains on it The elevator door sounds like it’s going to trap you in there because it hasn’t been greased And the evening janitor has an attitude problem The only thing nice I can say is the front desk staff were kind Other than that, I cannot say enough that my family was disgusted by this Hilton and we won’t be back I hope this review saves your family from an gross experience And Hilton, if you read this-get your people there to clean this place up

Matthew Schutte

This place was pretty nice to stay at with only a couple inconveniences that we came across If our room,531, had working A/C like what you felt when you walked in the building that would have been great We slept in a 75 degree room all night

Not comforting Also the gym doesn’t actually have free weights like the website described Other than that it was a good experience

Adam&Eve

The rooms are fine, but the people at the front desk (day-shift) were disrespectful to me Be aware (especially if you are black or with kids) that they will give you a flashy smile just to make you feel happy, it is all fake I was surprised to see one of the senior staff (who seems to have a managerial role) reprimanding a younger associate in front of me because the younger associate gave me some information about my room bill

The gist of the story is that this senior staff didn’t want me to know how much the third party charged me for the roomthe familiar dishonest corporate system

We booked our room a month in advance and paid for it We arrived late but called to be sure our room would be available and the desk assured us our room would be available because we had paid for it Well, they had already resold our room when we arrived and told us no refunds

They gave us another room with smaller beds and charged us again at a higher rate (our kids had to sleep on the floor) Sheila, the manager avoided our attempts to contact her for two weeks I had to call the corporate office to file a complaint and then she still avoided our calls (She was at the hotel when we called but conveniently unavailable) Finally I had corporate call her and put me on the phone with her She refunded partially the additional room cost but failed to make the situation right I informed her I had read the hotel policy on ethics I felt this was a violation She was rude and sarcastic, “I am surprised you can even read” was her reply There are many other choices for hotels in the area and I recommend you look past this hotel for one that treats their customers with more respect and offers solutions when they make a mistake instead of insults

Serious remodeling needed Carpet wearing Curtains are older

A/C, heating system is loud Pluses are, beds are very comfortable Good breakfast, dining area was clean and well stocked The kitchen staff though one woman, did an excellentjob The gym had no sanitizer and equipment needed cleaning ie the only working treadmill Very pricey for the quality of the hotel

I will start off with some good notes The staff was very friendly and so were the patrons Their breakfast was big, with a lot of selection

That being said, this Hampton Inn is in shambles Every amount of furniture, in the rooms, halls and breakfast area is ripped, torn, warped, scuffed etc It feels very run down Not well kept AT ALL There is no Wi-Fi The air didn’t work in the room and was definitely not on in the halls/elevators Although it was not the worst hotel I’ve stayed in, I would not recommend this hotel for anyone Pretty disappointed with the hotel and their price You don’t get what you pay for

The room was great Air conditioning worked well, the room was quiet, clean and spacious The continental breakfast was great and there was plenty of seating

My only gripe was with the fitness room Getting a half hour or so in on a treadmill is a part of my morning and this location had one treadmill that worked great, one that really needed maintenance and one that wasn’t working at all If there was more than one person using the fitness room, someone would be out of luck Otherwise, a great location Recommended!

Very clean and inviting as soon as you walk in Rooms were clean and a very good size! Pool was on the smaller side & no spa But kids still had fun

The main reason for the 5 stars is for THE STAFF! They were all so pleasant and helpful I’m never been to a hotel where every single person working acknowledges you and makes sure you have what you need and that your stay is going well

Our room had a bed with big sag in it Bathroom door would not shut completely Looks to have settled or had water damage

Desk manager (Patience?) gets five stars Over worked and doing three jobs but still positive Was knowingly put in room with bad AC

Was switched to room with working AC with no hassle Breakfast not included, but should be for the price paid Also say coffee available 24/7 but it only Starbucks Dark Roast No Decaf (machine had been broken for weeks) Also requires someone to make it for you, but that station only staffed till 11 pm so not sure how you get 24/7 coffee Room was nice and bed was comfortable Good location

My biggest disappointment was with the bathroom The floor was disgusting with dust and hair everywhere The bathroom drain was clogged so by the end of my showers I was calf deep in water

I told the front desk twice but nothing was ever done about it There was also no housekeeping unless you requested it The hallways and lobby were also very warm and humid Pros were that the staff were nice and it was quiet

I would stay far away from this hotel TERRIBLE EXPERIENCEI booked my stay through my credit card travel using some points At first everything was great, very nice and polite

We booked a suite because we have 2 kids under 3 and need the extra space1st room – room 334 – got in it and situated, after about 40 minutes noticed a dripping sound and found it to be a long stain line in the ceiling in the bedroom I thought no problem I’ll call the front desk and they’ll switch us, which they did into the room above this room2nd room – room 434 – in it for about 20 minutes and noticed a ton of tiny ants crawling all over carpet which were semi hard to see because the carpet is black but we had noticed them crawling on our two kids under 3 Felt very uneasy after this, called front desk and said they had no more suites and I requested to have two adjacent rooms to accommodate my booking for a suite which they said they can’t do, and I was being polite by giving them a third chanceAt first Dawn was nice and then turned very rude towards my wife I definitely do not plan to stay at another courtyard Marriot again

I love this place! I had a warm and friendly greeting, then I got to the room and was overjoyed because it was modern and clean and comfortable! The bathroom was sparkling and the bed was super cozy! I swear, I heard no noise at all during the night It could be because we were at the end of the hall, but whatever, it was dead quiet and the room was dark, not much light seeping in from the huge window We also ate in one of the ballrooms and the food and the service was top notch! I won’t hesitate coming back!!

Everything was beyond expectations By far one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had being in this industry I cannot express how friendly, helpful, and accommodating the staff were

Also, the food was phenomenal Everything was hot and fresh; the chef and kitchen took pride in their preparations and paid attention to the details I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years, and the operations at the Marriott University of Dayton are top-notch!
