Clean and pleasant as any Hampton Inn usually is Very nice and friendly staffConvenient to the highway and lots of good places to eat

Breakfast was good as was a dip in the poolMy room was tight, especially for one with two queen beds in it, but I was on my own so it was good Room 101, while convenient, the constant sound of the elevator equipment immediately the other side of the wall was not fun Maybe a discount offer for this room would be appropriate I tuned it out but any light sleepers would not be pleased I was assigned this room through the app, my reservation made months ago An upgrade was available for another $40, that’s not coolIn summation, tight but clean and tidy room and a great staff made for a nice weekend I slept well and felt comfortable and safe herethank you to HI Middleburg Heights

We loved the vibe/decor of this location and its proximity to Cleveland Hopkins Int’l Airport Front Desk attendants were very warm, personable and helpful Our room was nice, and we appreciated all the amenities, but the mirror over the desk clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived, a towel was backwards, a tile over the shower needs replaced, no bags in the trash cans seems unsanitary, one of the lamps was unplugged & we had no full-length mirror

Still, we recognize these are pretty minor, and our stay was comfortably restful

Recently stayed here for a conference at the attached facility, and wow, this was a nice hotel with a great experience Not only are the rooms nice and well kept, but the views from the tower are excellent, overlooking the lake and the Hall of Fame in my caseThe hotel has some solid if not spectacular restaurant and bar options, but is within easy walking distance of a number of great bars and restaurants

Definitely would stay again

Terrible!!! I called several days before my stay and I was lied to about the price of my hotel room for two nights I don’t appreciate being lied to I wish I could have written my experience much better but definitely wasn’t worth the money

I should have just stayed across the street at the Best WesternCarpets are nasty throughout the hallways of the hotel, super stained upThe nozzle on my shower gel was broken off so I could not pump it out during the shower There was a long black hair in the sink and my child and I have blonde hair so it wasn’t us!Getting another towel was kind of a big deal since my son wasn’t aware that there was a towel mat and instead he used one of the towels to step out of the shower I had to explain everything in full detail just to get another towel for my room which was kind of pathetic!Breakfast was okay, would love to see more gluten-free optionsI was also told I could use the shuttle service to get to the airport I am not familiar with Cleveland and not have them in over 20 years The older gentleman at the front desk was rude and told me he would have to charge me for parking since my car was at the hotelToilet kept running the entire night and was not working the first night of our stay Kept hearing the thing run constantly all night Could not sleep My son and I did not want to move our belongings after we’ve been settled in for several hours Problem should be fixed, put the person from the front desk had to come and fix it for us Which I was grateful for what he did but it didn’t technically fix the problem

Emily Decker

Incredibly disappointed with our stay at Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport Sandra at the front desk was rude and unprofessional While taking my kids to swim at the pool, I was unable to get into the pool using our room key

I’ve never been to a hotel when you are unable to access the pool with simply your room key You must have a front desk attendant let you in every time When I went to the front desk to get access to the pool, Sandra asked for my room number and I gave it to her She told me, “that room is a king room and you can’t have 4 people!!” She very rudely accused me of being dishonest in front of my children (our room had two queen beds) I clarified with my husband what our room number was, and it was what I originally thought She again accused me of sneaking too many people into a king room She finally looked up the room, and realized that she was mistaken- and that my room was, in fact, a two queen room Upon checking out, we had the opportunity to meet the manager, Raj, and we can see where the toxic culture comes from He was unkind and unprofessional and I am appalled that he chooses to work in the hospitality industry Do yourself a favor, and stay at any other hotel in the area who will be grateful for your business

Deborah Kane

DO NOT BOOK this hotel

you will be charged the full price of your stay if you try and modify your reservation less than 1 week in advance Not 24 hours, not 48 hours, but a full week is required to change or modify your reservation I tried to move my reservation from a Tues night to a Sunday night 5 days out and they won’t allow it without charging a full night’s stay My son has tested positive for COVID and we cannot visit him now, so we are flying back to Boston early The General manager will not return my phone call HORRIBLE customer service!!!

The room was small but fine, decor was definitely not to our taste not that it matters Though it was bothersome that not a single light fixture/lamp matched Anyway

The bed was comfortable and the room was clean, large bathroom and lovely shower Staff was friendly and helpful We appreciated that coffee/hot water was available in the lobby at all hours The reason for 3 stars is that the hotel plays music at an extremely high volume in the lobby 24/7 Honestly I don’t know how the desk staff can take it We had to leave very early in the morning to get our son to the Cleveland Clinic for surgery, and it was such an unpleasant way to start the day Music would be fine, but at a much lower volume, especially in the wee hours of the morning All in all a pleasant enough experience, but if I had to do it again I’d pay a little more to stay in a double tree

Tommy J.

Very good hotel Overall, very happy and we would stay againA little more thorough cleaning could be done in the rooms but nothing that was so bad we couldn’t deal with it

Mentioned in survey and I’m sure it will be addressedVery convenient to Cleveland Clinic, friendly housekeepers and desk staff Very quiet and comfortable rooms with good space Nice bright bathrooms and nice waste free toiletries like soap, body wash, shampoo, etc — (in squeeze mounted containers)We will definitely stay here again and are happy to have found this for our often visits to Cleveland Clinic – good value

Andy Shivler

I thought with the “Hilton” name and upscale price the hotel would be very clean, it was not There were food crumbs and stuff on the beds and the floor next to them Hairs in the shower which was pretty gross tbh

That being said, it was a decent room with comfortable beds The continental breakfast was pretty decent in the morning with standard self serve fare We took long showers and never ran out of hot water The staff was polite and helpful

For the price of the room and what we got we were not happy The room was to small, way to long The shower pressure was horrid and it took to long to take a shower

The breakfast was slim pickings and it tasted like it was 3 days old Coffee was good One night I bought a tea and a granola bar from the front desk and it was 7 dollars? I know convenience pricing but wow! The bed was to stiff and we did not get any sleep We will not be staying here at this hotel again

Jen Bradburn

Room was very large (I believe it was an accessible corner room) and had everything I needed Thought it was great hotel until I noticed housekeeping issues (a dirty washcloth sitting above the shower from previous guest and a long hair that didn’t belong to me on outside of bathtub) Morning breakfast was on lower end of hotels in this class

Pool was out of service, which was not reflected on Hilton website when I booked The front desk said it had been shut down for quite a while waiting on parts and no timetable for reopening Hotel is next to office buildings so guests are mostly for corporate travel Room was very quiet even though I was worried because I was next to elevator, stairs and ice maker (these happened to be the only things I asked to avoid when booking and are also in my hotel account information) I was not informed that you had to request housekeeping or they do not clean your room and there was no door hanger for my room to request cleaning Actually I’m assuming this was their policy since my room did not get cleaned while I was there I only stayed 2 nights with very late arrival the first night so it wasn’t a big deal to miss housekeeping, just would have appreciated some signage or instructions at check in if you needed to request it

My wife and I sometimes take road trips that have Cleveland as a stopover destination We had a pleasant one-night stay at this hotel in 2019 when we visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame On this trip we went to see the house from the movie A Christmas Story

This hotel was also conveniently located within about 5 miles of that destination, so we decided to stay here again on our July 2022 trip, also a one-night stayWe found that our experience in 2022 was also very pleasant and very similar to our 2019 stay We’ve noticed that some hospitality venues (ie, restaurants and hotels) seem to have suffered a bit due to Covid, but this hotel seems to have been unaffected The service was friendly and efficient, just like it was before CovidWe arrived after midnight and the night desk clerk checked us in She was friendly, welcoming and helpful Our rooms were well appointed We had the same full kitchen with a small refrigerator, a microwave and a dishwasher, sink, cupboards, plates and silverware The bed was comfortable, and the room was nice and quiet The bathroom was clean and had the usual amenities, including complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner Water pressure, which is a problem in some hotel showers, was good hereThe complimentary breakfast was decent with a variety of breakfast foods available, including omelets, sausage patties on an English muffin with or without egg and cheese, waffles, fruit, breakfast cereals, packets of instant oatmeal, yogurt, muffins, milk and orange juice The only issue was that their orange juice dispenser was dispensing orange juice that was a bit watery – possibly a temporary condition that could have been easily rectified by refilling the machineWe asked for and received a late checkout Although we were about 15 minutes late leaving our room, no one complained and we did not feel like we were being hustled out of the room, which happens at some hotels Our checkout was fast and easy

My husband and I recently traveled to Cleveland so I could be evaluated for a surgery there, and we picked the J Palen House It was fantastic What really stands out to me is that when we arrived Cleveland had a lot of snow, but the b&b made it a point to shovel out a space for us and put cones down so no one would take our spot

I was just really impressed with the foresight and thoughtfulness to do that for usThere was a plumbing issue with our original room, so they upgraded us to the Palen room The plumbing issue was actually fixed before we arrived, but they still let us stay in the Palen room It was lovely The bed was amazing, I never wanted to leave the tub, the fireplace was cozy, and the food was delicious We had the whole building to ourselves, which was so niceThe one thing to look out for is that our room was on the second floor, and the stairs were quite steep-and the only bathroom we could use was on the second floor It wasn’t a problem for us, but it is something to keep in mind if you have severe mobility issues However, as there are other rooms that don’t require stairs, I wouldn’t see it as a deal breaker for anyone staying I’m sure all of the rooms are wonderful to stay inWe’ll actually be traveling to Cleveland again soon for my surgery, so we’ll probably stay at the Palen House again then

Diane and Doug were great! We stayed in The Roost, which was very rustic and unique My wife and I both loved it The breakfasts they served us were absutely delicious

They laid out rose petals and towel swans for my wife, our 4 month old we brought along, and myself I was even able to pay them to get a dozen rozes and chocolate covered strawberries ahead for Valentine’s Day This trip was perfect If you need food recommendations, make sure to ask them as well We used 3 of their recommendations and were not disappointed in the least Highly recommend this experience!

Kelly Textoris

We stayed in “The Roost” during our last visit to Cleveland and absolutely loved everything about it The room was so comfortable and had everything we needed The bed was amazing! Diane our host made fresh delicious cookies for us and breakfast

The mini bar was stocked with free beverages and snacks! Perfect location for getting around Cleveland and located in such a fun neighborhood You can walk everywhere Will definitely be staying again

Aaron Hess

The hotel itself is nothing too special, but worked fine for our trip The rooms are decently clean but not spotless There is an RTA station right across the parking lot and the area is actually pretty quiet

The breakfast was actually quite good too! Only major complaint was that the room had a slight odor upon arrival and the hallways smelled of smoke even though it is a non-smoking hotel The staff are super friendly and are absolutely amazing though!

Mylah Morris

The entire place was booked and very loud Our sink wouldn’t drain and the beds were full size instead of queen Other than that, can’t complain

The lobby and breakfast area is very nice And the free airport shuttle was early and got us there promptly Drivers even helped with our luggage Would definitely stay again and use the airport shuttle!

Elizabeth Hintz

We stayed here on the way to visit family and friends in the midwest and were so glad that we stopped here The front desk staff were friendly, and the beds were among the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in My only complaint that the floors in our guest room were somewhat dirty (our feet were black after walking around for a few minutes), but everything else was clean

There are restaurants nearby, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they have a great pet policy (our cats enjoyed their stay) Overall, we will be back again!

Picked this hotel for location near Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and for that it was perfect Nice staff Room was spacious and mostly comfortable

Good coffee, fridge and microwave which I used I was a bit shocked when I had my glasses on and was able to see some serious scum in the area of the handrail in the tub I did not notice this right away as I had no need for the handrail and generally don’t shower with my glasses Thus the omitted starThe restaurant was convenient for breakfast but buffets are not my preference You can self park at the property’s lot for 25 a night

Ariel Boyd

I stayed here with my boyfriend, brother, and our friend We booked the room so we could all drink in the flats and just Uber back Upon first arriving at this hotel the last at the front desk was super friendly and kind

She wished me a happy birthday and thanked me for being a honors member She was very welcoming and I don’t think I’ve ever really came across someone so kind working front desk! Just with the interaction i had with her She put a smile on my face I would highly recommend this hotel to other people and I’ll definitely be staying again sometime Other than the service here the cleanliness of the room and when your first walk in is all very clean and nice The beds are super comfy, we had booked a room with two queen beds

Amberly S

My bestie and I took a trip to Cleveland last weekend and stayed here! Hotel was very quiet and comfortable All the staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming Special shout out to the woman bar tender that took the time to give the best advice for a night out with a printed map (also, really good food)

She was spot on, it was so much fun Also a special shout out to the shuttle driver we had, Carl, super nice guy and a joy to chat with on our ride Highly recommended this hotel to anyone, great experience and great people

This Hotel is great, love Holiday Inn The rooms are nice and the pool and gym were really enjoyableHowever, DO NOT look for help from the staff

They do not clean rooms daily, difficult to get replenishmemt items for the room When I picked up a family member from the Cleveland Clinic I asked if they could make up the room since we are here for 3 days and nights They never did it Front desk staff do not wear masksokay but they also then won’t make up your room Stay here because it’s a good hotel Don’t expect any kindness or service from the staff That is why they get a 2 instead of a 5

Russell Horn

Generally the hotel was good Our room was clean (though the peeling wallpaper in the bathroom could have been glued down) The beds were comfortable

The rooms could use some updating – for example there are no outlets by the bed, and unlike some other chains there’s no access to Netflix/HBO from the TVThe biggest disappointment was the bar On Friday it closed at 10pm The staff explained this was because it was quiet The next night (Saturday), with a packed bar, they closed at 11pm The bar itself was poorly stocked – “we don’t really have Scotch” and the staff were struggling with the volume of customersSo come for the rooms, and maybe look for somewhere else if you’re expecting after dinner drinks

Nicole Sloat

The holiday Inn hosted our wedding reception and the process was seamless from beginning to end Laura Surace, the coordinator is on top of everything and the entire banquet team worked wonderfully with my vendors to make the day everything we imagined

If you’re looking for a place to host your wedding I definitely recommend the Holiday Inn on Rockside Its affordable, well organized, beautiful and the food was great!

Guess Who

This is the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in The bathroom floor was sticky, the bath tub was slimey, the shower curtain had stains, and there was mold in the toilet The carpet felt like it had never been cleaned and had many stains

The pillows were flat and one of them didn’t even have a pillowcase I felt more dirty after bathing here than I did before I stepped into that disgusting shower The breakfast is also gross The oatmeal was basically cold soup The waffles were stale and cold Marriott should be embarrassed to put their name on this dump I have literally stayed in much nicer hostels The cleaners should all be fired and the health dept should be called

Mercedes Smith

I should have stayed at the courtyard across the street The staff was friendly but the rooms are run down and nasty I had broken glass, window came completely out, bed smells like grease(cooking oil), and the couches needs to be replaced

They look as though they have been here since the hotel was built I had to switch rooms because the heater stopped working and there wasn’t any hot water The heater eventually started working but I can’t take back the scream shower I had to take in 27 degree weather 😩 I will probably never stay at another town place suites ever again By the way, the staff is great 👍

Stephanie Winkler

Just read all the other reviews Very true I didn’t have a window fall out, but ac has been on 65 and room still above 70

Everything is old and stained The amount of doors you have to walk through to get to the elevator! Beds are hard as a rock Appliances barely work Gym has only two 40 pound dumbbells Treadmill works but very basic and oldOhhh and did I mention the train track right outside my window?

Lindsey Simpson

The hotel itself was nice, I loved the room For the most part, it was clean and the breakfast was good The reason I am giving the hotel two stars is because I suspect theft after requesting room service from the hotel

I had a piece of jewelry tucked away before room service and after packing the jewelry box and bringing it back home we unpack it and a pair of earrings were gone from it I wouldn’t be so mad if they weren’t my grandmothers who had passed last year and the ones I wore in my wedding They were not worn or taken out the rest of the trip so who else would have taken them out? Just be mindful when staying here about your belongs and who enters your room!

Crystal Hamilton

Rooms seemed visibly clean at first, until we started noticing cup stains on counters, someone else’s hair on the nightstand, dirty counters behind ice bucket and coffee machine Hot tub was visibly filthy with smelly, musty water Scent used in hotel smelt clean at first, but started to make me feel sick after a few days

Could use some hot items on breakfast menu for the price Pool was fine, as well as fitness center Beds seemed clean and comfortable There was a small bug crawling on my son’s pillow – not sure if it was a bed bug or not No bites TV is in bad position in relation to beds Our daughter slammed her finger in the sliding bathroom door – has no stopper and slides very fast if not familiar with that kind of door like our daughter Staff pleasant Housekeeping friendly and accommodating

We found the hotel was clean, the room was spacious, and the staff was friendly Look at the pictures closely because the one bedroom is a studio room with a bathroom It’s not like Residence Inn or other Marriott properties where one bedroom is actually one bedroom

The only separation between a couch and bed is a desk with a tall backing On this basis, the room with two queen beds could be listed as a two bedroom

Great location and ease of access back to the freeway if needed Clean hotel Small gym, but was able to get a workout in

Had great business area, and nice rooms Mine had a balcony so that was a double win Highly recommended if you’re on the west side of Cleveland I will also point out my room was by the ice machine and elevators and I didn’t hear a thing

This location is very convenient for me however this particular hotel is in serious need of a great cleaning The carpets in the rooms are a NO GO and the showers are not scrubbed properly I found the folks there to be pleasant but the state of the rooms was not very good

The shower soap fixture fell off the wall during the evening which after inspection had been repaired multiple times due to the amount of caulk used as an adhesive

Craig Evans

Room was clean and comfortableGym had a couple of treadmills, an elliptical, bench, and various weightBreakfast was overpriced and previously frozen

I think it was $7 for a 4 oz, pre packed fruit cup and one of the smallest breakfast sandwich’s I have ever orderedFriendly staff Plenty of parking, easy off/on I90 A number of restaurants serving lunch and dinner next to hotel

We enjoyed staying here The suite room was clean and good for kids The bathroom could be cleaner

One of the reason that we have chosen this hotel is the free breakfast We understand due to the Covid, they prepare to go box However, when you don’t eat ham because of religious reason, you should respect it and find a solution for it The first day they gave us cheese and egg sandwiches They were very kind However, the last day the front desk girl says they give whatever in the bag which could be ham or cheese It was not kind and it is not what it is supposed to be if you offer free breakfast or you could give what people ask when you are willing to spare time to get egg and cheese sandwiches Big thanks to the front desk guy to quite her and went to the kitchen and grab what we were asking It is sad to feel for us and for our kids in this way if you cannot eat something else other than egg and cheese sandwiches due to the religious reasons I don’t want my kids to feel bad because of their choice of religions Overall it was good

Pet friendly rooms are disgusting I was traveling with my cats so was given a pet friendly room Upon entry the entire place smelled of animal urine

You could see stains on the floor as well where pets have used the carpet as their toilet The area most saturated with animal urine was in front of the bathroom which my cat ended up rolling in I had to bathe him afterwards he smelled so awful of urine from head to toe Even just walking on the carpet barefooted, my feet felt really gross Aside from that nastiness, the beds did not have any fitted sheets however they were comfortable The TV worked great, the shower/hot water worked great, and the amenities were nice The AC worked very well The front desk staff were very friendly as well I was just really disappointed in the cleanliness of the pet friendly rooms We pay an extra deposit for cleaning, you would think the rooms would’ve been in better condition They honestly need to rip up all of the carpets from those rooms to avoid animals having accidents on their floors and retaining all of the smells I’m only giving two stars because the room cleanliness really threw me off It just felt gross knowing that I had to put my things in that room, potentially coming out smelling like animal urine I am very grateful to the friendly staff upfront, but these rooms need more attention

I stayed by myself the night before my wedding, and my husband stayed with me that night Everyone congratulated us without us mentioning we’d just gotten married I think it was because I had mentioned it when I originally booked the room almost a year before

Everyone was super friendly, and kind I accidentally left my Fitbit in the room, and the process to reclaim it was very smooth Setting up a block of rooms for our guests was pretty easy too Would stay here again

I was looking for a weekend getaway and didn’t want to go far, I ended up booking here and exploring downtown for the night Very reasonably priced compared to the other hotels in the neighborhood, room was clean and stocked with proper amenities although I would have liked some shampoos provided for the shower Receptionist was very nice, very personable, and made us feel welcome

Room is updated and modern, entertainment in the room is spot on (you have the choice to purchase movies, look at live TV and various other features) and like on every trip, I inspected the Keurig machine in the room Most hotels don’t clean them very well, I was shocked to find the one in my room spotless! This was my first trip I felt comfortable using the machine, this earned instant brownie points with me Gym and lounge are nice, beautiful courtyard to relax and sit by the fire I would book again!

Completely re-done hotel! We used to stay here regularly when it was a Radisson, and everything was outdated The rooms are now very nice Comfortable beds and nice furniture

Front desk staff and valet were friendly and helpful Breakfast was delicious- we really enjoyed having the made to order menuThe only issue was the elevator Only one of them was in order, which made for a long wait sometimes

Jenny Buchanan

Pretty nice room, one elevator was down the entire time (not so sure they ever get it fixed based off other reviews) Stayed for a conference at the convention center & liked that it was about half a mile away Some good restaurants in easy walking distance but check the hours, most seem to be closed by 10 pm if it isn’t a bar

Valet seems to be the only way to park

This is probably one of the nicer hotels we’ve stayed at The bed was was really comfortable, and we didn’t hear any hallway or neighboring noise The option of the bar, basketball area, and lounge areas were all nice

Breakfast was great, several options you don’t find at most other hotels (almond milk, turkey sausage) The front desk staff was also friendly Would definitely stay here again!

Rebecca Bowers

Staff was indifferent Never got a friendly smile in 3days from anyone The toilet flange had to be replaced after each flush

Ice maker never worked Towels for the pool are kept at the front desk so you have to drip across the lobby if you are not aware of this The outdoor courtyard is cozy Will not stay here again The rooms were clean enough, but not the best

Nn Kk

The room is spacious but little things like not working bedside lamps, sofa bed full of crumbs and chips and broken sofa mattress, fridge obviously needed some wipe down so is greasy stove top, the pool had dirt on the bottom, jacuzzi barely warm We are members with Marriott but this is the first time we came across this kind of hotel By the way, I did reported it to the front desk and she says she’d refund us, but didn’t follow through

We had a mixed experience staying here The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too small The shower was a nice walk-in, but the curtain wasn’t weighted, so it kept “blowing” open and letting water escape

Food was provided in the morning and evening, but the area was a madhouse during those times Valet parking was easily accessible, but priced high ($35 per night) The hotel was kept clean, but they used scents in the hallways, which can be triggering for fragrance-sensitive individuals We generally enjoyed our stay, but the roof leaks (we were on the top floor during a storm) So, slightly recommended, but if you stay away, I won’t blame you

Denise Dillon

My first time staying at this location Hotel was beautiful, staff was friendly We had a queen room

Room was clean and spacious The bed was comfortable Evening kickback was a huge perkdrinks and food for the family Only 2 cons was parking and the pool No parking lot, they do have valet parking for a nightly price, we did not utilize this service Also the pool was supposed to be heated but the temperature was too cold to swim Otherwise we will definitely stay again!

Dejan Braki

Excellent central location in a historic edifice in walking distance to almost all attractions Plenty of restaurants aroundSpacious room with all amenities you need, as well the bathroom

Pool was heated, very pleasant to swim and fair in size, along with the hot tubBreakfast is very good, but the biggest bonus is their Kick back at 530 PM – a light supper (great soup, hot dogs, shredded pork, potatoes, nachos, salads), after which you really don’t need dinner so you save some bucksParking is around 40$ – valet only, but we parked our car on the street in front of the hotel by the meter (free from 6 PM to 7 AM, after 7 AM 2$ per hour)
