Stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and loved the space, cleanliness and that it was pet friendly for our labradoodle The complimentary breakfast was a nice treat The staff was sweet & helpful during any communication

The bed I slept in was so amazingly comfortable I actually purchased the same model after returning home We typically only stay at Marriott brand hotels, but after one stay here that won’t be our thought process going forward Thank you for exceeding our expectations during our stay

David Johnson

This is the best place to stay in the Utica area The employees are the absolute friendliest people From the front desk to the maid service to the breakfast room So refreshing to feel like they are really glad you are there

The breakfast food was delicious and they even offer an evening meal The rooms are comfy and spacious Very clean even during renovations Highly recommended!!!!

We were placed in the wrong room, with our three young kids, after a 14 hour drive We didn’t have the energy then to really press about what had happened The next morning Mildreth was very responsive, tried all she could, and finally was able to move us to a larger room – still not the one we had booked & paid for

We reached out via email to the GM and he gave me a call He was very attentive, explained how the change had happened and apologized sincerely for the mistake They were very gracious and made it right The customer service was impeccable as soon as he was aware there had been a mistake It saved the trip for our family and we are very grateful

Room 243 is completely infested with ants and flying ants Im disappointed of the fact out of all rooms, they put me in this particular room that’s infested I feel like I’ve been setup

I couldn’t even sleep at night with them flying around And I used my loyalty points to only stay for 2 nights and this is the kind of service I get for being an elite member customer I should get a refund but I know they’re too stingy to do that I won’t be coming back here again

The gentleman at the front desk could not have been nicer He even called a half hour after we were in our room to be sure everything was to our liking He was super busy with an irate caller when we walked in

I stepped out to give him some space for a bit and then came back to check in He was very apologeticThe ADA bathroom was not ADA There was no handrail to hold on to when getting up from the seat The handrails were on the opposite side of the tub (?!) My husband was unable to shower for safety purposesWe stayed at the Dearborn hotel a week later and their bathroom was perfect

I get that it’s a 2 star hotel, but it’s definitely not up to Marriott’s standards for the price Place hasn’t been updated much since it was built, and the appliances and TV’s are especially outdatedUpdate: my room is next to the mechanical room, which means that there’s a constant whistle/ high pitched noise droning on all day, and someone is doing some serious hammering in there as well Had to go buy earplugsUpdate: wifi is very slow and randomly disconnects without warning

Pretty expensive for the quality I feel this location needs some upgrades and needs to work on their upkeep The young lady that checked me in very nice very sweet

I got there late on a Saturday and stayed until check out on Sunday, she’s the only one that I had contact with I don’t think I was mistaken but I believe she told me that breakfast was an additional charge and I’ve never came across that at any hotel I’ve ever been to so I thought that was kind of odd especially for the price I paid for the standard room

Josh Mills

They advertise having a restaurant but it seems to open and close at random hours and was not reliable Rooms were not well cleaned; we found both garbage and personal items from the last guests Housekeeping doesn’t clean unless you make a request, which just really means that their wages suck enough that they can’t find enough staff

The pool is small and kind of gross (cloudy water) The pool area was also dirty and not well maintained (rusty non-functional shower area, etc) Very much a lipstick on a hog I would stay there again but only because it’s probably still better than everything else nearby Staff was very friendly though

Jod Smith

I stayed at this hotel for a business meeting, the person checking me in was very nice and polite after checking in, I was greeted with a smile, cold water, and cookies by the Director of Sales Samarra who told me about their complimentary manager’s reception dinner that night The food was delicious and made with care! I will make sure I choose this hotel every time I visit Warren If I could give this place 10 stars I would

Showed up after an event let out of Ford Field at 9:30 ish, took us about an hour to get out of down town and to this hotel They gave us two key cards, we opened the room and found a family in the room and it looked like they had been living there for a while Came down to the front desk and the night guy said something like, “they gave your room away

” Asked if we could do a king bed for the four of us We said absolutely not Next room he went and checked first and there were people in that room too Finally gave us a key to room 210 and no one was in the room, but the TV did not work and there were scary water stains on the ceiling They moved us across the hall to 211 The room was a handicap accessible room, so there was a walk in shower with no lip or edge which flooded the bathroom every time you used it Also there were broken tiles and I am sure there is a huge water stain on the ceiling of the room belowBreakfast was awesome, but the police came for a group of young ladies and remained until the ladies finished their foodabout an hourOverall I would not recommend the placewalls were thin and people were running up and down the halls at around 2:30 amIt was clean in the rooms – the shared areas needed a good vacuuming and elevators were full of trash

Glenn Fielder

Haven’t stayed here in years but thought we’d give it a try again Front desk was pleasant and got us going to our room quickly Room furniture is looking well worn, same for bathroom as there is mildew on tile grout and tub looks like Breaking Bad filmed there

Also had to fix a broken curtain for privacy Next morning there were beer cans in the hallway and wife complained that breakfast was not good Wife went down to check the fitness room and pool and was back quickly stating both areas were filthy Came back later that evening and trash cans were overflowing and our floor sounded like party central Best part was, we got to our room and neither of our key cards would unlock our door, so back down to the front desk to get them replaced Next morning, we check the breakfast again and just about everything is gone and they say they are cooking more Just left and got breakfast elsewhere

Rachel Spencer

I love my rooms especially the jacuzzi suite my rooms were cleaned very helpful the manager was very helpful with accommodations because when I first arrived one of my rooms wasn’t cleaned wasn’t happy but we made it happened by cleaning one of our connected suites ourself The jacuzzi was nice and relaxing I shall say the beds were comfortable I had to make some accommodations because of my injuries so they made sure that they make they beds were comfortable for me by giving me extra pillows the pool was nice clean warm water Alexis was very nice too I ♥️her etc

the breakfast was good too especially the pancake maker will be coming back soon

Breakfast was awful! No selection no waffle makers in service Frozen pre made breakfast sandwiches microwaved and put in warmers No bread for toast

No bagels Some sort of muffins but no labels stating what they were Pool had so much chlorine in it that just being in the room made your eyes burn It was even worse if you got in the pool There was 4 chairs in pool area Not near enough pool towels Doors slamming all night and very early in the morning Could see light all around the door when room was darkPositives were that room was clean Bathrooms were nice Beds were comfortable I will say we had 4 suites booked and two were bigger than the other two That should be disclosed when bookingStaff that checked us in wasn’t very friendly Person in charge of breakfast didn’t really seem to care and wasn’t in any kind of uniform so we weren’t really sure if she was working There was a very nice woman who checked us out though

edgeCS

A 4 for facilities (not enough lighting in the room for serious business travel) but a 5+ for the effort put in by the staff to correct corporate screw-upsLongtime Bonvoy members requested and confirmed late checkout but the bleeding Marriott computer system cancelled the keys at noon, locking me out of the room Local staff busted their tails to restore the access Marriott promised

Thanks!

I wanted to recognize what a wonderful staff this place has! Lorraine, front desk, not only is she super adorable and bubbly, she exceeded her job description near the end of her shift to make our Christmas Day special! I had carryout I picked up on Christmas Eve and instead of me having to warm up plates of food, x’s 3, using the elevator, juggling plates of hot food and a room key, she was happy to warm up the plates in a back room of an employee area! I warmed one plate up in my room and grabbed our water As simple as this may sound, it really isn’t, not to me, my Mom and my best friend! Sooooo appreciated, thoughtful and kind She wore gloves, probably a mask, I don’t recall! I couldn’t have the two guests in my room because I am on an immune suppression medication

Point We were all able to eat together because of Lorraine helping us We were so grateful and amazed a stranger would do this, would care; especially it was a holiday at the end of her shift(!!!Wow!!!) but again, Fairfield Inn staff is in a league of their own! Well done management, someone has stellar gut instincts on who to hire! Lorraine, what you did is something I will never forget! Thank you for acting like family, you are so sweet! Please recognize this above and beyond employee!

I don’t usually leave reviews because I travel A LOT for work, but this situation calls for it I was recently staying at this hotel for a wedding and while I have stayed at other Hilton properties before this and can deal with minor inconveniences here and there, I was extremely disappointed in the level of attention, care, and interpersonal interaction that took placeFirst, the welcome gift from the bridal party that should’ve been inside my room was left outside the door when I was not on the property, and children or anyone could have picked up the bag and left with it

Leaving it outside was unsafe and shows that they didn’t do it ahead of time as instructed We had to make noise complaints the night before the wedding that were not resolvedOne of my biggest complaints is that I needed change in cash and I was asking the front desk about different options of how I could get cash and they were extremely rude to me and told me I had no options… Shortly afterwards, a different wedding guest pointed me to the ATM machine in the corner of the lobby I would’ve expected the front desk to at least tell me that the ATM machine exists as a part of their job instead of dismissing me or helping me consider alternative options I also witnessed the front office staff talking to a guest in a condescending manner about hotel reservation issues that they themselves were at fault for My parents work in hospitality and regardless of where the error is on an issue, speaking with respect and calmly is a priority and I do not believe that this staff had that They were not solution oriented and didn’t seem to want to help people resolve concerns which is odd considering they encouraged a wedding party to stay hereI would forgive certain issues given it was a wedding so there was a lot going on, but the hotel itself is old and in desperate need for an upgrade… we had crumpled shower curtains, missing soap, and a hair on the bed The only reason I am giving one star is because they had decent breakfast options and they provided a shuttle to get to the wedding venueWould not stay here again

Emily Nadolski

We paid a bit extra to stay somewhere with a nicer workout room Was disappointed to find here that half the equipment in their room doesn’t function properly One treadmill didn’t work entirely and the other only functioned at the lowest speed

The elliptical was showing a lot of wear but at least worked fine The bike was fine too along with the free weights If a workout room doesn’t matter much to you, it’s your average hotel, but would not recommend if you plan on keeping up on a workout regimen during your stay

Brandon Tilton

I’ll start off by saying it’s got 1 star because there is no 0 and only good thing I can say is the staff was friendly WARNING to anyone thinking about staying here Do not accept any rooms near the elevator

All the floors shakes from the laundry room that’s next to the elevator It’s as loud as a helicopter and It’s nauseating it’s so bad Valentine’s weekend – The room we had on floor 3 shook like an earthquake The hair dryer almost caught on fire I had to hurry up and unplug it They switched our rooms for us only to move us into a room where the heater was broken We had to crack our door to the hallway and run the shower almost non stop just to get some heat in there The pool area does not get cleaned there was a big pile of hair that sat in front of the jacuzzi access for 3 days that I seen Who knows how long it’s been there When asked for any sort of compensation we were told there’s nothing they could do were SOL Definitely won’t be recommending or returning to this place and I don’t advise you give it any business either

Pros: Front desk staff was polite and accommodating Forbes at the front desk stood out Helpful a few different times

Breakfast was great I will stay here again when visiting family in the areaCons: Common areas were not especially clean Trim along bottom of elevator was missing Common areas could use a refresh

Sophia Shepard

I would definitely like to thank the hotel staff especially the lady who had checked me in now on both my stays She was hands down so polite and just kind and sweet I have stayed at quite a few hotels just for work and I have never had such a sweet lady check me in and make sure that everything was good for me and also was great on making sure I had a place to park my big company truck

Absolutely great staff and good rooms I can’t attest for the breakfast due to I am in my truck by 6 am but every thing else was great

Ish C. Dalm

Not up to quality of other Holiday Inn’s we’ve stayed at There was hair on the wall and floor of our bathroom, a lot of damage to various areas of hotel (ie Elevator, front entrance)

You can tell it isn’t very well maintained On a positive note, the staff are friendly and very helpful In specific the breakfast staff were very accommodating and friendly Likely comes down to ownership not wanting to invest in maintenance and upkeep

We have stayed at this location a couple times this month, neither time was impressive Our first stay the ceiling in the hallway caved In after leaking for days with anyone doing anything about it, there was also no wifi This last stay I was disappointed the hot was closed for several day but my biggest issue was the lady at the front desk 7/28 @ 7am

She should not be working with the publicshe basically called me a liar, because i asked they keep they panty door closed as the people in the kitchen or the maintenance staff are both next to my room and, i work me up before 7 am, i was super nice about even though your staff woke me up, she acted like i spit on her when i just asked to keep it down before 7 am she should not be flipping out on guest Where is the manager present?

Anthony Whitlock

I have experienced terrible customer service by this hotel I booked a hotel room within my Wedding Party Paid close to $500 for a Friday to Sunday stay

Due to becoming ill and Wedding events overlapping Friday afternoon to 2am the next day I was not able to come in person to check in I called the next day about checking in and Concierge at Hampton Inn Chesterfield, MI told me my room was booked by another patron and they never received payment I have a withdrawal from my account on June 5th for the amount (my stay was supposed to be June 10th-12th) Due to prepayment and my circumstances, I expected to just stay the remaining days (Saturday and Sunday) and take a loss for Friday Hampton Inn Chesterfield did not make any arrangements with me on a hotel room or a refund I spoke to the Assistant Manager in person before I left he told me to call the Manager about it Monday and they will work something out for me Called Monday the hotel and direct lines to Managers, no answer I emailed and called over the span of 2 weeks it has been back and forth emails I have sent documentation of the transaction and a bank statement I was granted a refund 2 days ago to have a check mailed out to me and today I received an email telling me it is non-refundable I will not suggest to book with Hilton Hotels in general or this Hampton Inn based off of poor Customer Service

Pros: the STAFF Hyatt Place expectations met for cleanliness & ambience Great for meeting business colleagues with decently stocked bar

But the staff who work there can make or break the experience and this one has clearly been successful in maintaining a great team which is remarkable after work crews have dropped off after pandemic It wasn’t just the front desk associates, but maintenance, back office, EVERYONE accommodating and friendly KUDOS to each and every one we encountered, too many names to call out! CONS: Pool closed; needs to be highlighted on website link, esp for those staying with young children $75 pet fee per stay, not mentioned in previous emails/conversations prior to stay until day before check-in, Globalist members not excluded 2 night stay and they had the other common breakfast items as expected from a Hyatt Place, such as yogurt, bagels, boiled eggs, cereal, coffee However, the “hot breakfast” fell WAY short of what we have experienced as Globalist members during the pandemic According to another guest who has stayed here for 2 weeks due to her home remodeling project, the Sam’s Club/Costco Jimmy Dean brand reheated breakfast sandwiches has been the only hot offering for her entire 2 week stay Other Hyatt Places we have stayed at throughout 2020 into 2022, had a different hot breakfast DAILY, as what is more common at this chain Sausage, scrambled eggs, potatoes with green & yellow peppers & onions, French toast, pancakes, etc We stayed at the nearby Auburn Hills, MI location earlier this month, as well as Livonia, MI Dec 2021 where both brought back their hot breakfast with a variety of options on a daily basis The pool, $75 pet fee and “hot” breakfast are the only 3 cons for this specific location

Brandy Harris

The personnel there was out of this world!!!!! They were so nice and accommodating!!! The place was clean, smelled good, and very very appropriately nice!!!! The service was EXCELLANT!!!! I went there for a class in a meeting room The people there were great!!! The whole atmosphere was wonderful!!! They were gracious, kind, very very hospitable, and very moderately priced I intend to go back there, and, tell other people about the wonderful experience I had at the Hyatt in Utica

Thank you!!!!

Wendy Schulz

The first problem was the price we stayed two nights in the middle of the week and it was over $300 we really wanted to pay cash instead of using our credit card because we are awaiting a loan approval for a new home however the woman at the check-in desk assured us that they would hold the credit card and not charge it however they put a hold on it which was not explained to us which after we checked out didn’t go back on our card for 4 to 5 days later so we left there 5 days later it’s like we had paid twice and didn’t get reimbursed for one of the times we paid and I’m going to post pictures of the room in a minute I mean how terrible for a Hyatt I was disgusted the only thing decent was the pool area and they were having to put together new chairs that at least they had some they had like three put together when we got there and by the time we left they were all the way around the pool but they didn’t have a table to put a towel down on in there when we checked in that day the pool was 93° I liked it some people like it a little more refreshing

We stayed 2 weeks and had a good time Rooms are spacious and with a desk for working, TV worked fine always and had good variety of channelsBreakfast is good, we would just have liked more that they added more variety to the food options

After two weeks it was very hard to get always the sameWe had some issues in our room, but maintenance came quick and fixed always all of the issues and always was very polite We are thankful for that!

Really enjoyed my stay here! From the check-in counter, lobby, to the room, sheets, bathroom, everything was clean Loved the shampoo and conditioner that was provided as well I was happy the room came with a mini fridge and microwave

The staff were all friendly, especially Sunny! He was quick, very pleasant to speak to, and overall, really great

I wish I had looked into the reviews a little more in depth The bed linings were the absolute worst!!!!!! There were stains on the bed sheets, hair on the pillows, hair on the sheets and pretty much awful!!!!! We had to ask for spare sheets and that we shouldn’t have to do because putting clean linen on isn’t my job as a customer There also appeared to be fresh dry blood on one of the pillow cases

The laundry service who cleans the linen is horrible as some of the linen had obvious burnt marks on it The room felt damp and so that gave it a moldy mildew sort of smell I will never stay here again and have never left a hotel before check out but here I did I would have rather sleep in the vehicle but my husband said it’s unsafe I would give it no stars but I think you have to select at least one The staff was nice but I would take cleanliness over politenesses if I had to choose It’s about comfort where you lay your head

My experience here was excellent The room was clean & the setup was appealing with everything easy to find and in working conditionThe location was next to the freeway

Easy to find, but awakened by road noise throughout the nightMy only interaction with an employee was at my front desk check in & it was pleasant, quick and friendlyI would stay again, though I would likely ask to be in a room a bit further from the freewayDog friendly

Worst experience of my life We got a room at this hotel because they advertised they have a pool Charged 159 a night

No pool It’s under construction Outlets do not hold our chargers The bathroom door you have to wiggle to close Did not comp anything, didn’t lower the rate for false advertising and the supervisor there has an attitude Would not recommend

Came in from out of town The pool was down, the hot tub was down, the tv in the room didn’t work The breakfast consists of boxes of cereal and fruit

I typically stay at the hyatt across the street, but thought I’d try something new Big mistake! The staff is friendly and they are trying their best With Covid, it’s understandable that places are short staffed, but all of this should be advertised before you book a room there It is a very clean hotel and well kept otherwise
