My wife and I had a marvelous time getting away at the Adora Inn! John and Arthur were warm and friendly, our room was beautiful, and the food was out of this world! The Inn has the perfect combination of modern and cozy, it’s not decorated with outdated tacky decor like other bed and breakfasts I’ve stayed at, which I very much appreciate!Adora Inn is within walking distance of dozens of restaurants and shops, which is very convenient I cannot recommend this place enough! It is a must in Mount Dora!

Joe Diaz

We enjoyed a fantastic weekend at this cozy and quaint B&B whose owners, John and Arthur, are wonderful hosts It is located within a short walking distance of the village center where you’ll find most of the restaurants, shops and tourist attractionsMount Dora is what much of Florida used to be years ago and the Adora Inn enhances that experience

I believe it was built around 1916, but it now offers spacious rooms with modern amenities and comfortable bedsJohn and Arthur are chefs and their culinary skills are on full display as breakfast is served Although they will prepare dinner for guests upon request, they’ll also recommend local restaurants that they’ve tried themselves We visited with another couple and we all shared some wine and great conversations with John and Arthur in the beautiful common areas of the home It was like spending a weekend with friends We highly recommend the Adora Inn to anyone visiting Mount Dora

Alex D

What a fantastic place the Adora Inn It is a perfect place for a weekend or a couple of days get away We stayed in one of the 3rd floor lofts, it was very spacious for a couple and with no TVs in any of the rooms it is a true disconnect

The early 1900 built house has a very homey feel to it and has everything you need for your stay John and Arthur are an absolute delight as hosts and will make you feel right at home not to mention they will whip you up an amazing breakfast The house is in an absolutely fantastic spot with less than a 5 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants in the historic downtown area We cannot wait until our next visit here in the future

An amazing place! The rooms are all (yes, we were able to peek into most of them) beautiful and filled with period furniture The prioritress is a great cook and undoubtedly trying to make breakfast the only meal I need for the day! I totally recommend you stay here for your next visit to Mt Dora

Did I mention the perfect pool?!

ANDREW REITBAUER

BARRY MAXWELL

I would not recommend this B and B I stayed in the most expensive room for my 30th wedding anniversary The room was never touched while we were there for the weekend

One would assume at the very least the bed would be madeIn regards to the breakfast, I found it to be a one fits all type If you don’t like poached eggs, too bad I love my eggs sunny side up, and to dip my toast into the liquid yoke However, the eggs were overcooked and the yoke was too hard to dip anything into itSo, I would say pass on this B and B It is not within walking distance of downtown, the food was subpar, and it was overpriced for the service one would expect for a $300 a night room

My husband and I stayed in Charlie’s room, everything was very charmingfrom the decor to the furniture

The room was extremely clean and Lily was so sweet My husband asked where he could find a convenience store nearby just to get a bottled Pepsi, not only did she give us directions but later that night when we returned to the room she had brought us a few bottles from her own personal stash The experience was great, the breakfast vouchers were for a little diner very close to the Inn and the service was also great In the entry area they had coffee and snacks available to the guestsInn keepers can make or break an experience and I felt that Lily had such a warm and welcoming demeanor that it made our stay extra special Thank you Lily, although our interactions were briefyou made an impression that will last with us

MIchael Menzone

My wife and I took a day trip to Mount Dora, once there, we decided to spend the night Lucky for us, a room was available on such short notice The location of this B&B is excellent; literally steps away from the restaurants and shops

The rooms were impeccably clean The innkeeper wentabove and beyond to accommodate us during our short stay, right down to providing us that emergency tube of toothpaste (thanks again, Anna, haha!) The restaurant they provided breakfast certificates for was perfect; a variety of delicious dishes to choose from (Cody’s Restaurant?) I’m glad we found this place A true Mount Dora treasure!

Rob Fulton

Our stay at the Inn was great I always worry about parking but since there were only four rooms in the main house, there was plenty of parking in the back There is also a parking lot next door and on the street

We stayed in Elsie’s room It was very clean It had a refrigerator The check in and check out was easy With the Covid rules, they gave us free breakfast passes at Cody’s on Fourth It is a short walk and the food was delicious We would come back again

We were so pleased with our room Really comfortable bed, lovely pillows, and that cute little efficiency kitchen We didn’t need that for our one night visit, but will definitely keep the place in mind should we ever need a longer stay

Breakfast choices and area were wonderful A beautiful arrangement with lots of seating options for individuals or groups

Jenny Lawson

It was an overall great stay! It was clean, the rooms were nice, and the workers were polite I just wish the pool hadn’t closed at 8:30 That’s kind of early

When you’re on vacation you’re busy doing stuff all day, it’s nice to come and unwind in the pool, but it was always closed, unfortunately! We did get to swim once, it was nice

DJ S

Upon entering the day to come to the hotel it was catastrophic traumatic uneventful frustrating and totally disorganized Nothing was done right the way it should have been done But the manager tried everything he could to rectify the situation

After driving 6 hours frustrated anxious and tired with an elderly woman and a service dog it was very difficult for me to calm down Mind you I had gotten lost for an hour and 45 minutes because nobody knew how to explain how to get there to the hotel from where I was at No matter how much I was explaining myself to them where I was at I was not getting proper articulate thorough directions One of the employees kept hanging up on when I asked how do I get there and he didn’t know and then associate female did not know Which was creating more anxiety because I wanted to get in there freshen up and lay down I said how come you don’t know how to give directions which I found out later they were new people Instead of putting a manager on the phone to direct me it just became worse in an escalated By the time I got to the hotel more issues arose that I almost didn’t even say there that night I was ready to sleep in my car because of the battles that somebody else created before coming to the hotel Which one major one said I didn’t have a reservation but I had a reservation number The manager did everything he could to call me down but I was not about to calm down because I was just too tired and overloaded which nobody seemed to understand Make a long story short cuz this is a long one the end the manager of the hotel ends up fixing my reservation and my rate the way it was supposed to be originally The front desk personnel made up for whatever I was going through the breakfast the room and the accommodations help me to slowly get back to my rational self I was pretty angry and disgusted considering what I was encountering I left the front desk and tip hospitality tip which I always do when I visit a Marriott hotel This place was difficult to find cuz the road maps were two different zip codes and two different areas My GPS was telling me one thing and these guys were telling me something else I had a long conversation with the manager and he said he would fix the problem so the sort of thing would not happen again He promised to stay on top of it and the training would be better considering there was a new hotel and more training needed to be installed It’s in a good area It’s close to all the essentials things that you might need while traveling I hope that nobody has to go through what I went through because in the 25 years I’ve been a member I have never experiences in my entire time visiting Marriotts My mother and my daughter were severely affected by this as well as myself medically speaking I highly recommend you do not deal with reservations if you’re going to make arrangements to say it’s this hotel please deal directly with the manager himself then you know nothing will go wrong Thank you for taking the time to read this and you all have a nice day

I was very impressed with the front desk clerks They were friendly and also willing to help They all had smiles on their faces, making you feel welcome

The room I stayed in was clean My bed was always made before I returned The hotel was not noisy; elevators and hallways were clean—no nasty odors I will stay there on my next visit

Nice clean hotel with excellent service This is my first stay at this hotel When we got to the room and turned on the heater, it wasn’t working

This happens to be the coldest weekend of the season here Called the front desk to alert them of the problem They sent a maintenance person right away The heater could not be fixed so we were immediately moved to another room The hot breakfast was good and so was the coffee

Lynn Puckett

The manager of this location is AWESOME! I had an issue with my upon check in and out with a possible pet fee for my registered and certified service guide dog I understood being asked upon check in as many people try to avoid paying fees for their pets I presented all my documents at check in

When I went to check out it was not a pretty scene when I was questioned againI reached out when I arrived home and the manager reached out personally to assure me this would never happen again at his location He assured me that all staff is trained in the handling of ADA service animals and apologized profusely for the incidentThe rooms are GREAT and very Comfortable I will try it again when the need arises The location offers safety and comfort in the Apopka area

Our breakfast had relaxing views and the food was decent for the the price We had great 🍮 at El Conquistador restaurant and the waiter, a young man with a cute southern accent, couldn’t be more attentive and kind The decor and the ambiance of the place is adorable My son enjoyed the amenities and the rounds of golf Very challenging and fun course I can’t wait to go there again!

We had the pleasure of staying at Mission Inn while attending a British Car Event in April The mix of old historic Florida with modern day conveniences was outstanding and welcoming Walking the grounds was like a day at the botanical garden

Hard to describe the beauty and ambiance of this magnificent and almost magical location It was a experience no one should miss Now, I need to find a way to golf this one of a kind golf course Maybe my next visit?

I can’t say enough about our experience at the Mission Inn Resort! We had our wedding at one of their venues in December and it was one of the most delightful experience I’ve ever had Jessica from the mission inn weddings sales team could not have been more helpful and transparent on the experience we would have They helped us with great vendors and had everything in order with the hotel and resort to make sure our family was well accommodated

They helped us meet Kelsey, our wedding coordinator, who was our superhero leading up to the big day Kerry our catering manager went above and beyond with her staff to make sure everything went off without a hitch She employed a wonderful staff who were understanding and responsive to everything we addressed I would recommend this resort and experience to everyone and look forward to my next stay!

Extremely disappointing We stayed there for 2 nights one of them being our wedding night This was 2 years in planning due to Covid

We had many family members and friends from out of town book the hotel as well Brought in more than 16 room nights for the property We worked this out with the property’s event coordinator The day before our wedding we checked in and the front desk agent was rude when we tried to check in early We had bumped into the GM, Kamal, later that day and expressed out excitement of our wedding day The next day, our wedding day, I talked to the lady at the front desk and mentioned that we’d be out of the room later that evening and if she would be so kind to set something nice up in our room while we were gone since it would be our wedding night She said she’ll see what she can do I also told her I would be more than happy to pay for whatever they added into the room I’ve worked into hotel for over 10 years both front desk and housekeeping leadership positions so I know this should be something they had planned since we had this plan for over 2 years We returned to the room later that night to nothing Our bed was made up and items ended up missing on our room including a wedding card that contained $200 as an early gift We didn’t notice it was gone until we got back home since a wedding consumes a lot of other thoughts in our minds When we wrote our review directly to the property the best response we got from the property was “ We do really apologize we could not make your stay nice and convenient Best Regards, Hotel Team” which is by far the biggest slap in the faceSadly, they also manage the Hampton next door so this area is not worth it and I would highly recommend a different property considering the lack of service and empathy this property has

Pats Soxfan44

The room was great!!! Arrived 23 minutes before check and got told by Virginia we had to wait till 3pm to check in No problem! She then checks two people in that had 3pm reservations No problem!!! Then they charge us a no show fee

When we arrived and left on time The desk guy couldn’t explain to us their mistake and gave us a hard time about giving us our money back Will avoid this place forever Would like to add we come to apopka once a month for a softball tournament

BED BUGS! WARNING!!! BED BUGS!!!We stayed the night with my daughter, she went to bed and woke up the next morning complaining of bug bites on her stomachWe were in a hurry and had to leave, I can not express how many bed bug bites were covering her body when we got to our location 15 minutes away, not 1 or 2, PLENTY of mothers were confirming that they were bed bugsI called the hotel and they said to send the pictures and they would check the room

They returned an email and said that the room was fine and that they would have the pest control company take care of itIf there is no issue with bed bugs why then do you need pest control??I sent pictures of the massive amounts of bed bug bites and still zero concern for my childDO NOT take your money and spend it at this hotel!I have sent them the pictures, they should be ashamed, especially after reading the reviews and seeing this is NOT the 1st case of bed bugs happening at this hotelYou do not take ownership of your business’s issues!CLEAR OUT THE BED BUGS

There is plenty of charm to this hotel and a real taste of “old Florida” And the views of Lake Dora are fantastic from the InnIf you’re looking for modern amenities though in your room, like a microwave or mini fridge, a nice-sized TV or even an enclosed toilet tank (instead of exposed plumbing) to come standard, you’ll need to manage your expectations

The most modern thing in the room was the super quiet, super cooling A/COverall we enjoyed our stay The serving staff at The Beauclerc and Tremain’s Tavern were excellent and the food was great Seriously, portions were big, very fairly priced and even the salmon we had was perfectly cooked And you will not find a better location within walking distance for all that the historic downtown district has to offerAreas for improvement:- We requested a mini fridge by phone days ahead of time only to find no note for it in our reservation I suppose we saved the $5/day charge which seems a little nickle-and-dime like in the first place, but the whole thing was handled poorly by the front desk- The mildew around the door frame inside the closet was just plain gross and needs work- The pool bar was not open due to staffing shortages Would have enjoyed that- Trying to book a boat tour through the hotel website needs even more in your face explanations that it means nothing unless you call the boat tour operator directly to confirm Really, why bother to have it on the site otherwise

Gretchen Bennett

Our room facing the lake was clean and very welcoming! The staff were very attentive and happily greeted you! The piano playing superb! My only complaint was 2 days in a row (and we were the some of the first guests) at lunch and dinner the next night they were out of a certain soup! Dinner we ordered the Brie with crackers and she came out with the Brie and dinner rolls saying that they didn’t have any crackers! We will been coming back as the beauty of this old place in and out are exquisite! But I will be bring my own crackers!❤️😂

Kristy Burns

I usually give good reviews The two stars is for the staff who have been kind My room is old, gross and overpriced

Don’t walk around barefoot Your feet will be dirty and sticky The lock on the door doesn’t work and neither does the toilet flush well I am next to some noisy passage at the top of the stairs I am currently being forced to hear the worst wedding DJ music permeate the walls At what point do we move past Sir Mix A Lot’s “ I Like Big Butts” and “Celebrate Good Times”? So, if you are coming for a wedding, make sure to hit up the bar so the room doesn’t offend at the end of the night and DO NOT CRASH ON YOUR FRIENDS FLOOR! Ew! If you are not coming for a wedding, there are some bed and breakfast places in the area that I am sure are quieter, cleaner, and provide more for your money It does get quiet after 10pm and the mattress was soft but judging the bedding and flooring, who knows how old the mattress may be I try not to think about it The grounds are nice and I did not try the food so I have nothing to offer on that score

I made reservations 2 months before our stay Because it said that we needed to get there before 6pm, I contacted the owner to ensure that someone would be there for us because we were going to get there after 6pm I called them, left them messages, emailed them, texted them and no answer

I ended up calling the chamber of commerce who got in touch with them and then finally they responded So I was relieved A couple of days before our arrival, the hostess contacted us to give us instructions on what to do after our arrival past 6pm We got there at 6:30pm and everything was in great order Clean room, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bed and beautiful place Even the outdoor chairs and hammocks were clean from bird stuff and fruits from the trees Very clean Walking distance from downtown (15 miles) So we got our exercise Everything was exceptional The hostess was available through text so it was almost self service but with NO problems at all They only thing we didn’t like was that the walls were too thin and could hear entire conversations from next door and upstairs Would stay there again

Jason Sizemore

We have already had an amazing experience with the new owners of the Heirloom Estate and we haven’t even stayed here! Our sis and bro-in-law stayed this past weekend for their ten year wedding anniversary The new owners went out of their way to help us to have champagne on ice and chocolates waiting in the room upon arrival It was a great surprise and a huge hit! So while we haven’t stayed here yet, we definitely will! Thank you again to the new Heirloom Estate owners for your help in making a special day even more special!

My daughter team stayed at hotel I rented a room and sent with someone else The staff was very helpful getting the room set up so the other mom could check the girls in

I called 2 days before to double check and everything was fine but when they got there the guy tells them we need the credit card and id, which I had already emailed after talking to him a few minutes he figured it out The girls were disappointed with pool as it only went to their waist

Carlisa Harper

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel This doesn’t not even deserve a one first of all during the week of March 2nd I called down to the front desk at 8:00pm to tell them that the toilet overflowed and need to be fixed The receptionist tells me that she has a plunger and some towels that I can come get and to basically plunge the toilet your self

I am like wow I paid 350 for three nights for this trashy hotel she did not even offer me to get another room with working supplies that is the most god awful thing you can tell you customers I will never stay at this hotel ever again the worst experience ever

Simpson Bed & Breakfast met every expectation plus some My husband, teenage son and I stayed in Bob’s room and it was perfect I am a huge fan of small details and I was extremely impressed

To the disposable cups in the bathroom for mouthwash, to the extra towels and robes, to the snacks and water provided in the kitchenette, everything lead to us having a fantastic stay The king size bed was comfortable and the room was extremely clean The location couldn’t be better We parked down the street at the public parking garage for free Would highly recommend and can’t wait to come back

Christina Roldan

Truly a hidden gem within Mt Dora and Central Florida as well! The Simpson BnB has a cozy home feel (each room has its own theme named after a family member) while not compromising any brand name hotel’s standards of excellence (beds are great)! Would 10/10 recommend staying here if you are looking to get away from your stereotypical hotel and have the real, small town experience in the heart of Mt Dora

I never do reviews, but anyone that likes super clean and comfortable accommodations, like myself, will want to know about Simpson’s B & B The initial communication with management was beyond my expectations Very prompt and informative replies

Check-in and out process very quick and simple Wonderful information in the room providing contact information and local events They’ve already thought of everything for you, giving you privacy and options We were impressed with Cody’s on 4th (the included breakfast) The sheets felt great slipping into them, the towels were plush, and I have never felt more comfortable putting my clothes in drawers and utilizing kitchenware to prepare our own foods Again, I never do this but could go on and on Truly look forward to another visit in this fantastically located B & B Tina H

Perfect Location and Excellent Service for my Birthday Party Concert Fundraiser! We hosted my birthday party concert fundraiser, Rock Stars for Lake Cares, in April 2022 at the Key West Resort on Lake Dora The rooftop event space was perfect! Sam, Sydney, Alex and the maintenance team were responsive and helpful Our guests loved the lake and sunset views from the rooftop

We were able to extend a blocked room rate to our guests, which was nice The band had access to electrical outlets and all went well from a sound standpointWe had several guests stay at the resort and they were happy with the accommodations They have a pool with a lake view and a restaurant, The Dog House, on the property, which is great Our catering and event team said everything went smoothly, and the guests are still talking about this wonderful venue and how much fun they had at the event!

The staff here is amazing! Anna, Sydney and Sam were so accommodating! Not only did they go out of their way for us we watched them deal with some of the rudest people and they dealt with it flawlessly You can’t please everyone but these girls sure did try One morning I was sitting in the breakfast area which by the way is quick and easy

They also have alot of different options Well as we ate breakfast Miss Anna was running around making sure everyone had what they needed and was super sweet We had a great stay and will definitely come bk because of the staff! They made our stay so much better

Sydney the front desk associate was amazing! She accommodated our needs and went above and beyond her responsibilities My AC wasn’t working when we arrived, she immediately had maintenance take care of the issue, though it never worked, she switched my room and put me into a better location with a better view of the lake Sydney also gave us great recommendations on food and must do while in town locations

The town is amazing and the people are great! This location is conveniently located near great food and drinks! Will visit again! Omg the rooftop view is to die for

Pamela and Keith are wonderful hosts and the house is very beautiful! I stayed here many nights during an extended business trip and had a wonderful experience every time They really make the house an inviting home for their guests and pay attention to the details- from the house to the garden to the yoga studio! The beds were comfortable, too and that makes such a big difference The breakfasts are phenomenal

I still dream of the lemon dutch pancake they make!

I needed just the right place of extra TLC for my Mom with all the caregiving she has been giving to our Pop This place too such loving care of her, that I don’t know where to start The place is beautiful, and the whole area feels like it is cottoned in love from the inside to the outside

It truly exceeds any B&B that I’ve even been in or checked out The extras, are just perfect without overdoing and spoiling the feel of the home Nicole is such a special lady and made my Mom feel like she was her Mom too making sure all was just right, and Mom got the much needed sleep and relaxation that she needed too There aren’t enough good words to cover how very special I believe this sweet home is I recommend to everyone, and plan on having Mom back there for another respite Thanks for treating her as special as she is!!

Very, very happy! We came to Mount Dora for a relaxing getaway We booked a room here for our last night in town and boy are we glad we did! We stayed in the “estate” room It was SO CLEAN which is the first thing I look at

The house is old and pretty- beautiful outside I slept so good that night Woke up refreshed and to the smell of something delicious cooking downstairs It was almost like I was back at my Nannie’s house We went downstairs and were served like spoiled brats The owners were super sweet and eager to make sure we were happy I cannot wait to go back I loved our stay here Worth every penny, if you love quality and comfort!! Thanks Evan and Christi!

Not the nicest Hampton Inn we have stayed in, but clean and functional for one night It’s approximately 10 minutes from downtown Mt Dora Breakfast was good, hot food and your traditional breakfast cereals

We enjoyed the hot homemade oatmeal! Overall, the place needs a little TLC outside Pool has no privacy from the parking lot and no shade (no umbrellas either)

We used this Hampton Inn as the base for our annual family reunion in July 2022 The general manager, Robert Milsap, helped us organize a room block and a meeting room for our five day four night event The logistics were flawless; and the on-site staff friendly and accommodating

This property is not brand new, but is exceptionally well-maintained Kudos to the staff responsible for breakfast A reasonable assortment of hot and cold items were in plentiful supply, in a neat and clean environmentWe will use this property again!

Probably the worst experience I have ever had at a Hilton Property I stood in front of the clerk for a good 5 minutes before he even looked up and greeted me There were no other guests at the desk! Then, the room was so incredibly small and cramped

To make matter worse, we found little black specs in our beds (my sister took pictures) When I complained about our room, nothing was even attempted to make our stay any better The only comment I got was “we are completely full”, and the parking lot was maybe 1/4 full So, I know that was just a “put off” I used points for this stay which really is aggravating, as I feel extremely ripped off Hilton corporate should really take a look at this property as it does not meet the Hilton brand, in any way To add insult to injury, I received a “form email” from the hotel customer service person “apologizing and hoping my next stay would be better” with no attempt to satisfy an uphappy loyal Hilton Honors member I emailed them back asking to speak with the GM of the local hotel but no response has been received
