I became a Covid ICU Travel Nurse at the beginning of the pandemic I gave up my home I left my children & granddaughters

I have worked in multiple states, And, I have lived in hotels for the past 2 1/2 years I have been here for 11 months I will be here another 7 months Finally, I have a place to stay where I don’t feel desperately homesick This hotel… and this amazing staff have repeatedly gone above and beyond to make me feel as “at home” as possible Sure, things aren’t always perfect (I do NOT miss being responsible for my own home maintenance) While routine maintenance is clearly a top priority, things break, things need repaired Here, things get done quickly They get done correctly The property is extremely clean and well maintained The free laundry & workout equipment are clean & well maintained The convenience store is clean & well stocked (although the company recently switched to Pepsi products) The staff is AMAZING! My dogs love it here The people who stay here are respectful, and clean Everything is convenient (restaurants/shopping/freeway/airport) I have never felt disrespected here I have never felt unsafe here For the unplanned direction my 25+ year nursing career took, I would not be able to continue to do the work I do if it weren’t for this hotel, and the incredible people who have been such a blessing in my life!

100$ deposit that they hold that has to be on credit card or debit, can’t be cash Sort of a hassle but not bad Rooms weren’t the best , and had a weird pickle smell but had a rather large desk and laz e boy recliner

Nice size rooms Didn’t like the window to our room being facing the road Overall it I’ve been better places for the price Right down the street , the la Quinta or extended stay is just as good if not , a lot, better for the same price or cheaper

If you’ve been to a Home two suites before, it’s just like the other one but a little bit nicer than some The amenities are new and it smells good and cleanThe front desk staff were all friendlier than average and I thought everybody was nice that I interacted with

The breakfasts are decent They’re the same as at the other Home2 suitesI don’t like the bedding at Home2 suites I’m used to the Hyatt down comforters and my own down comforter at homeI was pretty disappointed that I specifically booked a hotel using an indoor poor pool filter and their pool was completely shut down How difficult is it to change the filter when you close your pool down? It can’t be that hardI was also pretty disappointed that I was locked out of my room when I went back to get my luggage after taking my dogs out It was right at 12 All the other hotels and have a check out at a certain time give you a window There’s been a lot of times when I’ve gone back from my second load 10 minutes after the checkout time and I’ve never been locked out right on the minute I was supposed to be checked out before That’s not a very good way to make people feel welcomed and appreciated

Cleanliness of this hotel is going down quickly After staying here for the last three years at different times The last few stays between have revealed a carelessness in cleaning the bathrooms, changing sheets, dusting and the shower doors, forget about it

We initially booked one night needed another night But decided to choose another hotel To add insult to injury excuses seem to be the order of the day From the color of the cleaning solution to oh that dirt is only on the side of the shower Will look to corporate for solutions because addressing on site management is a moot point Disappointed Diamond member

Dog pee and noise! But will be backWe stayed just one night, Saturday Had two rooms… One of them reeked of dog/cat urine

The other smelled fresh The room itself was otherwise clean, breakfast was great… The staff was overall decent The person checking me in Saturday afternoon was a bit short/rude, but the person (Heather) on Sunday morning was great The floor was crazy loud Saturday night with partying families, but that’s not really the hotel’s fault Sunday morning the same crew was ridiculously loud/messy at breakfast They trashed the whole scene, left a mess, and dodged The staff handled it really well I’d stay again, just didn’t personally get sleep or have a great night or morning Not the hotel’s fault per se

Great location and ease of access back to the freeway if needed Clean hotel Small gym, but was able to get a workout in

Had great business area, and nice rooms Mine had a balcony so that was a double win Highly recommended if you’re on the west side of Cleveland I will also point out my room was by the ice machine and elevators and I didn’t hear a thing

Peter Negron

This location is very convenient for me however this particular hotel is in serious need of a great cleaning The carpets in the rooms are a NO GO and the showers are not scrubbed properly I found the folks there to be pleasant but the state of the rooms was not very good

The shower soap fixture fell off the wall during the evening which after inspection had been repaired multiple times due to the amount of caulk used as an adhesive

Craig Evans

Room was clean and comfortableGym had a couple of treadmills, an elliptical, bench, and various weightBreakfast was overpriced and previously frozen

I think it was $7 for a 4 oz, pre packed fruit cup and one of the smallest breakfast sandwich’s I have ever orderedFriendly staff Plenty of parking, easy off/on I90 A number of restaurants serving lunch and dinner next to hotel

The rooms are very nicely laid out with up to date furniture The king room we stayed in had a large TV mounted on the wall, a safe in the closet and a mini fridge hidden in the dresser under the TV The staff here is very helpful, courteous, respectful and professional

Just wish the windows in the room were cleaner considering we chose the room with a city view Other than that, the room rate was great and they offer a Veteran discount Would definitely stay again (Pics of city taken from room windows)

Had a wonderful overnight stay here Went to a concert at the House of Blues Cleveland This hotel is perfect location for anything at House of Blues you literally just have to walk across the street

From check in to checkout I was impressed with the staff All very friendly The breakfast restaurant is a bit pricey but as expected It is good food Pizza 216 was an awesome spot to eat and drink at before the show Highly recommend this property when in Cleveland Valet parking only 39 pr night and unlimited in and out access

Amy Lammers

Iris, the hotel concierge, is amazing! Not only is she warm and welcoming, but she is very accommodating We were in for the Cleveland Marathon and she was able to facilitate an early check in and late check out time for us It provided us the much needed rest before the race and a nice relaxing shower after where we didn’t have to feel rushed to check out

Iris you deserve a gold star! Oh and the rooms were updated with very comfortable beds The hotel was quiet and beautiful!

Terrible!!! I called several days before my stay and I was lied to about the price of my hotel room for two nights I don’t appreciate being lied to I wish I could have written my experience much better but definitely wasn’t worth the money

I should have just stayed across the street at the Best WesternCarpets are nasty throughout the hallways of the hotel, super stained upThe nozzle on my shower gel was broken off so I could not pump it out during the shower There was a long black hair in the sink and my child and I have blonde hair so it wasn’t us!Getting another towel was kind of a big deal since my son wasn’t aware that there was a towel mat and instead he used one of the towels to step out of the shower I had to explain everything in full detail just to get another towel for my room which was kind of pathetic!Breakfast was okay, would love to see more gluten-free optionsI was also told I could use the shuttle service to get to the airport I am not familiar with Cleveland and not have them in over 20 years The older gentleman at the front desk was rude and told me he would have to charge me for parking since my car was at the hotelToilet kept running the entire night and was not working the first night of our stay Kept hearing the thing run constantly all night Could not sleep My son and I did not want to move our belongings after we’ve been settled in for several hours Problem should be fixed, put the person from the front desk had to come and fix it for us Which I was grateful for what he did but it didn’t technically fix the problem

Emily Decker

Incredibly disappointed with our stay at Holiday Inn Cleveland Airport Sandra at the front desk was rude and unprofessional While taking my kids to swim at the pool, I was unable to get into the pool using our room key

I’ve never been to a hotel when you are unable to access the pool with simply your room key You must have a front desk attendant let you in every time When I went to the front desk to get access to the pool, Sandra asked for my room number and I gave it to her She told me, “that room is a king room and you can’t have 4 people!!” She very rudely accused me of being dishonest in front of my children (our room had two queen beds) I clarified with my husband what our room number was, and it was what I originally thought She again accused me of sneaking too many people into a king room She finally looked up the room, and realized that she was mistaken- and that my room was, in fact, a two queen room Upon checking out, we had the opportunity to meet the manager, Raj, and we can see where the toxic culture comes from He was unkind and unprofessional and I am appalled that he chooses to work in the hospitality industry Do yourself a favor, and stay at any other hotel in the area who will be grateful for your business

Deborah Kane

DO NOT BOOK this hotel

you will be charged the full price of your stay if you try and modify your reservation less than 1 week in advance Not 24 hours, not 48 hours, but a full week is required to change or modify your reservation I tried to move my reservation from a Tues night to a Sunday night 5 days out and they won’t allow it without charging a full night’s stay My son has tested positive for COVID and we cannot visit him now, so we are flying back to Boston early The General manager will not return my phone call HORRIBLE customer service!!!

Matt Kelichner

The manager was very nice and empathetic Unfortunately, our room was absolutely disgusting and no where near what we expected during this trip There were 3 garbage cans in our two bedroom suite and of those three, one was still full of trash and one didn’t have a bag inside when we checked in

There were all kinds of sticky / tacky substances on the doors, counter, and night stand We had two separate two bedroom suites and none of the 6 TVs in our rooms worked, all 4 beds looked like the top layer of blankets were just pulled up vs the sheets actually being changedThere were bags of garbage and towels all over the property which was as bizarre as it was gross We were there for 3 days and it was progressively worse each day We wound up checking out a day early purely because of the condition of the hotel There’s a major difference between an older property and a poorly maintained property

I am in the middle of an 11 night stay and things have already been rather disappointing, to say the least I will edit with additional informationLocation: The hotel is conveniently located to the city of Cleveland

It is in a safe area and quite a few food options are nearbyFacilities: The hotel layout is confusing and is definitely dated It could use some upkeep I am in a studio suite with a fireplace The area in front of the fire place on the floor has a soft spot that I avoid as I don’t want to fall through The television system does not save information from Netflix or other streaming services like I am accustomed to It also zooms in the picture on streaming services randomly The laundry room is inoperable The washers all broke and apparently they did not start repairs until the final one broke The closest laundromat is 28 miles away… Very inconvenient for someone without a vehicle The common areas could use some cleaning as well The picture is, what I am hoping is, ketchup that has been on the wall in the stairwell since I checked inStaff: Interactions with staff have been hit of miss Everyone has been very polite, but I am assuming a lot of newer employees at the locationBonvoy: I was given an upgraded room to the fireplace suite upon check in which is always appreciated My status was kind of acknowledged when checking in (has never been important to me) I requested a late checkout when I checked in electronically and there were no issues

Irene Aschenbener

We stayed in this location several times It has never been great, but We travel with dogs and and usually accept we won’t get the best room This time we were put on the 2nd floor and I ask to be moved because of the dogs- up and down stairs

We were put in room 2 and it was filthy! Surface’s dirty, walls, dust on sides of beds, lamps, drawers would not stay closed on the dresser, needed to be vacuumed Cushions missing off the back of the couch, no chair in room I called front desk, offered small wipe’s to go over surfaces They had no other roomsThe next morning my dog pick up a medication off the floor and I went to speak to the manager, KathyShe did have the room cleaned, it was better not great, waived my do fee, but I really don’t think she cared No one should have been put in that room in the first placeBut hey location is convenient -hence the 2 stars I expect more out of Marriott

I was looking for a weekend getaway and didn’t want to go far, I ended up booking here and exploring downtown for the night Very reasonably priced compared to the other hotels in the neighborhood, room was clean and stocked with proper amenities although I would have liked some shampoos provided for the shower Receptionist was very nice, very personable, and made us feel welcome

Room is updated and modern, entertainment in the room is spot on (you have the choice to purchase movies, look at live TV and various other features) and like on every trip, I inspected the Keurig machine in the room Most hotels don’t clean them very well, I was shocked to find the one in my room spotless! This was my first trip I felt comfortable using the machine, this earned instant brownie points with me Gym and lounge are nice, beautiful courtyard to relax and sit by the fire I would book again!

jennifer burks

Completely re-done hotel! We used to stay here regularly when it was a Radisson, and everything was outdated The rooms are now very nice Comfortable beds and nice furniture

Front desk staff and valet were friendly and helpful Breakfast was delicious- we really enjoyed having the made to order menuThe only issue was the elevator Only one of them was in order, which made for a long wait sometimes

Jenny Buchanan

Pretty nice room, one elevator was down the entire time (not so sure they ever get it fixed based off other reviews) Stayed for a conference at the convention center & liked that it was about half a mile away Some good restaurants in easy walking distance but check the hours, most seem to be closed by 10 pm if it isn’t a bar

Valet seems to be the only way to park

We enjoyed staying here The suite room was clean and good for kids The bathroom could be cleaner

One of the reason that we have chosen this hotel is the free breakfast We understand due to the Covid, they prepare to go box However, when you don’t eat ham because of religious reason, you should respect it and find a solution for it The first day they gave us cheese and egg sandwiches They were very kind However, the last day the front desk girl says they give whatever in the bag which could be ham or cheese It was not kind and it is not what it is supposed to be if you offer free breakfast or you could give what people ask when you are willing to spare time to get egg and cheese sandwiches Big thanks to the front desk guy to quite her and went to the kitchen and grab what we were asking It is sad to feel for us and for our kids in this way if you cannot eat something else other than egg and cheese sandwiches due to the religious reasons I don’t want my kids to feel bad because of their choice of religions Overall it was good

Christina Jordan

Pet friendly rooms are disgusting I was traveling with my cats so was given a pet friendly room Upon entry the entire place smelled of animal urine

You could see stains on the floor as well where pets have used the carpet as their toilet The area most saturated with animal urine was in front of the bathroom which my cat ended up rolling in I had to bathe him afterwards he smelled so awful of urine from head to toe Even just walking on the carpet barefooted, my feet felt really gross Aside from that nastiness, the beds did not have any fitted sheets however they were comfortable The TV worked great, the shower/hot water worked great, and the amenities were nice The AC worked very well The front desk staff were very friendly as well I was just really disappointed in the cleanliness of the pet friendly rooms We pay an extra deposit for cleaning, you would think the rooms would’ve been in better condition They honestly need to rip up all of the carpets from those rooms to avoid animals having accidents on their floors and retaining all of the smells I’m only giving two stars because the room cleanliness really threw me off It just felt gross knowing that I had to put my things in that room, potentially coming out smelling like animal urine I am very grateful to the friendly staff upfront, but these rooms need more attention

Melissa R. Kosovich

I stayed by myself the night before my wedding, and my husband stayed with me that night Everyone congratulated us without us mentioning we’d just gotten married I think it was because I had mentioned it when I originally booked the room almost a year before

Everyone was super friendly, and kind I accidentally left my Fitbit in the room, and the process to reclaim it was very smooth Setting up a block of rooms for our guests was pretty easy too Would stay here again

My husband and I recently traveled to Cleveland so I could be evaluated for a surgery there, and we picked the J Palen House It was fantastic What really stands out to me is that when we arrived Cleveland had a lot of snow, but the b&b made it a point to shovel out a space for us and put cones down so no one would take our spot

I was just really impressed with the foresight and thoughtfulness to do that for usThere was a plumbing issue with our original room, so they upgraded us to the Palen room The plumbing issue was actually fixed before we arrived, but they still let us stay in the Palen room It was lovely The bed was amazing, I never wanted to leave the tub, the fireplace was cozy, and the food was delicious We had the whole building to ourselves, which was so niceThe one thing to look out for is that our room was on the second floor, and the stairs were quite steep-and the only bathroom we could use was on the second floor It wasn’t a problem for us, but it is something to keep in mind if you have severe mobility issues However, as there are other rooms that don’t require stairs, I wouldn’t see it as a deal breaker for anyone staying I’m sure all of the rooms are wonderful to stay inWe’ll actually be traveling to Cleveland again soon for my surgery, so we’ll probably stay at the Palen House again then

Diane and Doug were great! We stayed in The Roost, which was very rustic and unique My wife and I both loved it The breakfasts they served us were absutely delicious

They laid out rose petals and towel swans for my wife, our 4 month old we brought along, and myself I was even able to pay them to get a dozen rozes and chocolate covered strawberries ahead for Valentine’s Day This trip was perfect If you need food recommendations, make sure to ask them as well We used 3 of their recommendations and were not disappointed in the least Highly recommend this experience!

Kelly Textoris

We stayed in “The Roost” during our last visit to Cleveland and absolutely loved everything about it The room was so comfortable and had everything we needed The bed was amazing! Diane our host made fresh delicious cookies for us and breakfast

The mini bar was stocked with free beverages and snacks! Perfect location for getting around Cleveland and located in such a fun neighborhood You can walk everywhere Will definitely be staying again

Jesse LeGault

We had a mixed experience staying here The bed was comfortable, but the pillows were too small The shower was a nice walk-in, but the curtain wasn’t weighted, so it kept “blowing” open and letting water escape

Food was provided in the morning and evening, but the area was a madhouse during those times Valet parking was easily accessible, but priced high ($35 per night) The hotel was kept clean, but they used scents in the hallways, which can be triggering for fragrance-sensitive individuals We generally enjoyed our stay, but the roof leaks (we were on the top floor during a storm) So, slightly recommended, but if you stay away, I won’t blame you

Denise Dillon

My first time staying at this location Hotel was beautiful, staff was friendly We had a queen room

Room was clean and spacious The bed was comfortable Evening kickback was a huge perkdrinks and food for the family Only 2 cons was parking and the pool No parking lot, they do have valet parking for a nightly price, we did not utilize this service Also the pool was supposed to be heated but the temperature was too cold to swim Otherwise we will definitely stay again!

Dejan Braki

Excellent central location in a historic edifice in walking distance to almost all attractions Plenty of restaurants aroundSpacious room with all amenities you need, as well the bathroom

Pool was heated, very pleasant to swim and fair in size, along with the hot tubBreakfast is very good, but the biggest bonus is their Kick back at 530 PM – a light supper (great soup, hot dogs, shredded pork, potatoes, nachos, salads), after which you really don’t need dinner so you save some bucksParking is around 40$ – valet only, but we parked our car on the street in front of the hotel by the meter (free from 6 PM to 7 AM, after 7 AM 2$ per hour)

Lindsey Simpson

The hotel itself was nice, I loved the room For the most part, it was clean and the breakfast was good The reason I am giving the hotel two stars is because I suspect theft after requesting room service from the hotel

I had a piece of jewelry tucked away before room service and after packing the jewelry box and bringing it back home we unpack it and a pair of earrings were gone from it I wouldn’t be so mad if they weren’t my grandmothers who had passed last year and the ones I wore in my wedding They were not worn or taken out the rest of the trip so who else would have taken them out? Just be mindful when staying here about your belongs and who enters your room!

Crystal Hamilton

Rooms seemed visibly clean at first, until we started noticing cup stains on counters, someone else’s hair on the nightstand, dirty counters behind ice bucket and coffee machine Hot tub was visibly filthy with smelly, musty water Scent used in hotel smelt clean at first, but started to make me feel sick after a few days

Could use some hot items on breakfast menu for the price Pool was fine, as well as fitness center Beds seemed clean and comfortable There was a small bug crawling on my son’s pillow – not sure if it was a bed bug or not No bites TV is in bad position in relation to beds Our daughter slammed her finger in the sliding bathroom door – has no stopper and slides very fast if not familiar with that kind of door like our daughter Staff pleasant Housekeeping friendly and accommodating

We found the hotel was clean, the room was spacious, and the staff was friendly Look at the pictures closely because the one bedroom is a studio room with a bathroom It’s not like Residence Inn or other Marriott properties where one bedroom is actually one bedroom

The only separation between a couch and bed is a desk with a tall backing On this basis, the room with two queen beds could be listed as a two bedroom

Recently stayed here for a conference at the attached facility, and wow, this was a nice hotel with a great experience Not only are the rooms nice and well kept, but the views from the tower are excellent, overlooking the lake and the Hall of Fame in my caseThe hotel has some solid if not spectacular restaurant and bar options, but is within easy walking distance of a number of great bars and restaurants

Definitely would stay again

Work conference had a room block here and it was an excellent stay The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, and even the wifi worked! Only thing is the showers don’t have doors… which was weird But, it was a nice place to call home for the week

Location was great, too Close to all the stadiums, convention center, and Rock n Roll museum Easy to get to food or have food come to you Never had an issue getting anywhere without a car! And the views… loved the downtown scenery!Last bonus point came from the complimentary waters and morning coffee While breakfast is an extra cost, free drinks were great!

We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend during the weekend of July 9th This hotel was incredible from the cleanliness to the warm and friendly staff everywhere you turned Another huge perk was the breakfast buffet each morning in the restaurant

It was reasonably priced and all items were plentiful and fresh All staff during the morning hours in the restaurant were wonderful and friendly They also offered complimentary coffee The front desk staff was also extremely friendly and helpful recommending some local places to go when we asked The room was also spacious and comfortable with no issues We plan to come back to Cleveland in October and will 100% stay here again

The room was clean and quiet Beds were comfortable Valet service was helpful and timely when we used it

The food in the restaurant wasn’t great, and there was no room service option The shower was absolutely terrible The water pressure was so poor I literally couldn’t wash the shampoo out of my hair I had to turn off the shower head and actually put my head under the tub faucet to clean my hair Super disappointing Overall the stay was OK I certainly wouldn’t hurry back

Picked this hotel for location near Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and for that it was perfect Nice staff Room was spacious and mostly comfortable

Good coffee, fridge and microwave which I used I was a bit shocked when I had my glasses on and was able to see some serious scum in the area of the handrail in the tub I did not notice this right away as I had no need for the handrail and generally don’t shower with my glasses Thus the omitted starThe restaurant was convenient for breakfast but buffets are not my preference You can self park at the property’s lot for 25 a night

I stayed here with my boyfriend, brother, and our friend We booked the room so we could all drink in the flats and just Uber back Upon first arriving at this hotel the last at the front desk was super friendly and kind

She wished me a happy birthday and thanked me for being a honors member She was very welcoming and I don’t think I’ve ever really came across someone so kind working front desk! Just with the interaction i had with her She put a smile on my face I would highly recommend this hotel to other people and I’ll definitely be staying again sometime Other than the service here the cleanliness of the room and when your first walk in is all very clean and nice The beds are super comfy, we had booked a room with two queen beds

My bestie and I took a trip to Cleveland last weekend and stayed here! Hotel was very quiet and comfortable All the staff we encountered were very friendly and welcoming Special shout out to the woman bar tender that took the time to give the best advice for a night out with a printed map (also, really good food)

She was spot on, it was so much fun Also a special shout out to the shuttle driver we had, Carl, super nice guy and a joy to chat with on our ride Highly recommended this hotel to anyone, great experience and great people
