Our two night stay was quite enjoyable and a good value The location of the hotel is very nice and the desk staff were all professional and efficient Our room in the tower overlooked the courtyard and landscaping below

Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was small but clean Elevators were always available and quite fast The included breakfast in their restaurant was wonderful and the atmosphere was comfortable and not rushed Our server Dee was truly a professional treat!

djust

Room was mostly clean Sofa bed had old sheets from previous others, some hair in the shower It’s just okay, nothing spectacular

Staff was nice Bathrooms are on the hallway side really closely with thin walls You can hear literally everything happening outside in those bathroomsIt’s an okay hotel, but wouldn’t return Not much to really do here for the price but it’s clearly for professionals staying short term

Our son and daughter in law’s wedding reception was at the Somerset Inn on Saturday… it was SUPERB! My husband is blind so they hired a hostess to help him thru the buffet line and attend to his needs Like keeping him up on his ice water, sodas, coffee etc She was so sweet! She even took my 86 yr old Mom to the restroom

She also attended the Bridal party table and many others The food was excellent and the hotel rooms were spacious and lovely the cocktail hour before reception went well too We were thrilled with the entire weekend The hotel staff was very courteous and fun

Richard Merrill

I stayed at this hotel for 10 nights The staff was so friendly and helpful There were two changes (both my fault) to my plans and they were able to accommodate me perfectly

I needed some special assistance since I became ill during my stay and they were great! The General Manager was kind and friendly as was sweet Lindsey from New Bedford, MA! I wish I knew the gentleman’s name who personally helped me so I could also mention him hereI liked my room It was clean, modern and comfortable

Sally Castillo

It was just okay

not bad but not outstanding either Alot noise in the hallway from workers stayingwe were workers too but had enough sense to not be fighting and arguing in the hallway No grab n go breakfast as advertised I’m not sure what they expect a worker to do with a bag of oatmeal on the go The kitchen was convenient the 2 burner stove was questionable very hard to regulate They provide most of the utensils I had my own At a $100+ a night probably will find something else next work trip

Angel Wright

Our room was a king bed with sofa bed, there was 3 of us, so we did plan to use the sofa bed It was not up to par, let’s say easily from the 80’s, springs showing and all Very, very uncomfortable

Went to the front desk to ask for blankets and sheets and I was told they had no clean blankets 😒 The outdoor pool was a perk for us and found out when we arrived that it was closed Our room smelled heavily of paint and the hallway, well you see the pictures We did get a packaged breakfast but I would stay away from the apple juice and orange juice dispencers If you look close you will see mold around the nozzles Needless to say we will not be visiting this place again

Not a good experience at all First room had a hair tie on the restroom floor, corners of the restroom has a lot of dirt in them, pillow case has stains on them and there was other debris on the floor through out the room Clearly this room was not cleaned prior to use going to it

We were given another room only to find the same thing The bathroom had toothpaste on the wall near the sink the back of the entrance door looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time, the window looking out looked like it had not been cleaned since the hotel opened My wife attempted to make tea but the brown clumps and dirty water that came out of the pot was disgusting I try to not leave negative reviews but this needed to be shared For the price we paid, I was not happy at all with the level of cleanliness in this hotel I will say the people at the front desk were very nice and the lady that waited on us in the restaurant was great For the price this was a complete rip off, not to mention the breakfast was $18 and about the same thing we usually get for free at other hotels Sorry Marriot tried, but will not be back

The Courtyard was very clean and three people were very nice and helpful I had messed up my reservations and they helped me out fixing them I stayed 5 days on business

The room was a king room and was clean Everything was in it’s place I had enough towels and on my third day house keeping came in and cleaned up around my luggage and clothes I had laid out They even cleaned around my toiletries It was awesome to see The bed was comfortable and it had a pretty good shower The TV options are good as well The only thing I can say as a negative is the dining was still closed, they said they were opening it up again the week after my stay When I return I will stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Troy again

I’ve never left a review for a hotel but I just had to I just stayed here for the first time and my stay was GREAT No complaints! Room was super big , and CLEAN

The staff was so FRIENDLY! i left my bathing suite in the room and the lady caught me before pulling off when I got back upstairs the housekeeper had it bagged up for me already! Pool area was clean as well and so as the fitness center! 9/10 , only because I was looking forward to the fire pit being lit I’ll be back

Shannel D. K.

As a travel agent you tend to do a bit of hotel hopping, and I was very pleased with this one as well Wishing I could have stayed a bit longer Loved my room with the balcony and sitting area

I wanted to venture out and sit in the common area around that fire place 😭😭 it looked so relaxing However, no worries I will get to it sooner rather than later Thank you

The night shift front desk lady Pam made this experience amazing She was kind and made sure we were more than satisfied with our stay! I hope the next time I visit she is here to continue making the experience outstanding Also, hotel is great, modern, and amazingly clean

So up to date and the furniture around the hotel literally comes out of a catalog

Amy Plumb

Check in was super easy and fast Warm chocolate chip cookies awaited me upon arrival, and you can’t go wrong with that The hotel was exceptionally clean and quiet

The towels were larger than some of my blankets at home The gym was bigger than most, three treadmills and multiple other machines in there as well as weights and a stretching area I didn’t use any other amenities and didn’t eat on site One of the restaurants on site has a business casual dress code, which I was not prepared for Any staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful When I was there the elevator on my side was not working, which was fine by me because my room was right next to it The parking situation felt a little sketch being in the back of the hotel, but it’s Bloomfield Hills, so I wasn’t too worried As is true for most anywhere in that area, the pavement to the parking lot on both sides is trash, with extremely large potholes all over the place, so beware when driving The drive in the front was intact and smooth

Zed Alhatab

Stayed there for 2 nights !A very clean hotel! One of the most important things for me ! There was no noise I can hear from the other rooms ! Which is a positive point! The staff was very friendly ! Dwight Howard, II

Stayed for 5 night’s with our robotics team to compete in a competition happening at Oakland university Great service, very friendly employees We used the meeting room a few times and it was nice

The pool is great but closes at 9pm which seems early It appeared they had an air conditioning issue of the lobby while we were there but that really had no affect on our stay

Susan Eyth

Unfriendly staff Called ahead and asked if we could check in an hour early so we could get dressed for our memorial, and were told yes, there were clean rooms available

Arrived to check in and could only check in if we paid an additional $50 We were already paying over $220, which included a $20 booking fee They made us sit in the lobby and wait until 3 to check in Also, once we finally checked in we had to wait a long time to get the only elevator up to our room, because the other elevator was broken Got to our room and the key did not work Had to wait for the elevator again to go back down for a correct key We were late for our memorial service The room was nice, but there was no air conditioning in the lobby or halls Fans were sitting all over This place is declining and we would never stay there again! Poor value for the money and no concern for the customer!

London France

The stay was good but not the best However, the key was not working and it gave us a hard time opening the door up The breakfast options were good but when were coming down for breakfast, lots of people were coughing in the kitchen

In the rooms, there was no microwave (which was very inconvenient) the bathrooms were VERY small and the sink was outside the bathroom, the bedding was very hard and uncomfortable, and the bathroom shower also had bugs inside of it Another downside of the hotel, is that the snacks were overpriced The pool seemed outdated and there was not a hot tub or sauna

Breakfast was eh due to covid stuffThere is better hotels especially for what you pay for itStaff was great, lobby was clean and really nice and updatedWould not stay here again

D R

The room design/layout is horrible I have stayed in plenty of spring hill suites and this layout was the worstThe TV was glued to the top of a piece of furniture

Couldn’t watch TV from the couchBreakfast was powdered eggs and turkey sausage YuckBar was there but no staffThe location was perfect but you need a sign out by the road!

Our softball team (11 families) just stayed at this hotel for five nights for a softball tournament The hotel was clean, quick to answer any of our questions and gave us great service The Courtyard was perfect for our families to gather and spend time between games

The landscaping was very pretty and it was designed for socializing It was a huge part of making the experience really enjoyable for everyone Overall, amazing experience and about one of the best hotels I’ve ever been to for a group outing Every hotel should have a courtyard!

Dealraider Sales

Courtyard is usually a predictable and above average brand by Marriott However, this property is well below average First it’s not in a great area

Second, the building itself is run down on the inside – the front desk told me they were supposed to get a refurbishment in 2020 but still don’t have one planned, it’s well overdueWhat made it really bad was the walls were paper thin and I could hear the conversation next to me, and every door opening and closing – like an old motel The bed was completely worn out, sinking far low with poor pillowsI asked to check out early given the condition and bad sleep experience and at least was allowed to do thatMarriott needs to refurbish this hotel completely

Carol Bishop

So far it’s good, not great, I’ve been to better Marriott properties No microwave in the room and one down the hall is not cool, it’s ok for 2-3 nights but longer I’d want more, fitness room is great The building is huge! Needs more elevators and the luggage carts are too small ! They take 1-3 bags the old standup ones took6-9 with a hanger for clothes

Needs improvement ,a C+

The whole staff was so friendly and very helpfulThe room with the balcony facing the river and park was so serene The room was so spacious and spotless Loved the size of the room the walk in closet which you don’t get in most hotels The king size bed was so comfy and so were the pillows Even the scent throughout the hotel was so was so nice They told me what scent they use as a diffuser which I will order This hotel when built spent money to add so many high quality touches To the staff and management Thank You for such a wonderful stay Will be back in a few months

As I found a spot to park and join my friends to few drinks, saw the whole parking lot was almost full Took a nice walk around the hotel towards the restaurant The whole atmosphere is delightful, full of life and very enjoyable

We ordered cocktails and few sides dishes and to share Everything was delicious and very elegantly served Our server was super friendly and full of smiles too The crowd was flowing in and out, though not overly crowdedMy friends loved their cocktails which was great I liked my pomegranate martini but will try another martini another time Little on the sweeter end!The whole ambience was fantastic!

Tori Flynn

Been aware of this beautiful hotel for 20+ years but just had the first opportunity to stay there Our room with a balcony was so nice Lots of space, comfortable bed and an amazing bathroom (not the usual cramped space) with a walk in closet! Housekeeping was super attentive when we needed them

Restaurant staff was great the first visit, but the second visit sort of ruined the whole fantastic stay it was so bad Fitness center had weights and cardio And the location is perfect for walks to other restaurants and even the local farmer’s market on the weekend I’d recommend this hotel and stay again, but would probably skip the dining room

Stayed here for 3 nights I really liked almost everything about this hotel It was clean and quiet and the room was spacious

As a big guy I appreciated the nice desk chair that didn’t pinch my legs The walk-in shower was easy to use and the water pressure and temperature was very pleasant The desk area is really well put together and very usable for working, I travel with 2 laptops and an external monitor and was very easily able to set them all up in a way that was productiveStaff was friendly and helpfulThe only reason wasn’t 100% happy with this hotel was that the mattress was far too firm for my liking I woke up with a backache every day It’s not that the bed is -bad- so I’m not rating them lower because of it, its a fine quality mattress it’s just far too firm for me who is used to a softer bed, so if you like firmer mattresses this is most likely the hotel for you

Steve Joerger

The hotel is a 7-minute drive to the airport There are a few restaurants nearby but nothing within walking distance The hotel is newer in design and has an excellent breakfast in the morning as well as the evening happy hour

The staff was kind and got me checked in quickly The room was clean and had a junior suite setup along with a full kitchen and no separate rooms The bed was comfortable as were the linens The bathroom was clean as well with a shower tub comboOther Amenities:- Free WIFI- Indoor pool and spa (Closed for maintenance)- Fitness Room- Laundry room- Pullout couch- Full Kitchen- Outdoor grills- Evening happy hour- Hot breakfast (Eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal and cereals)

David Couch

I’m a Hilton Guy, very nice establishment Hotel Desk clerk, Mitchel, was very pleasant, courteous, and accommodating Rooms were very clean and comfortable

Hotel is energy-conservative, so rooms are hot (during warm months) when you first arrive but cool off in a short time once the electric is enabled by a hotel card Breakfast was plentiful, hot, and good; I love biscuits and gravy Todays meat I passed up I prefer pork over turkey sausage Can’t win all of the time Definitely, visit this hotel again if work brings me out this way again

Showed up after an event let out of Ford Field at 9:30 ish, took us about an hour to get out of down town and to this hotel They gave us two key cards, we opened the room and found a family in the room and it looked like they had been living there for a while Came down to the front desk and the night guy said something like, “they gave your room away

” Asked if we could do a king bed for the four of us We said absolutely not Next room he went and checked first and there were people in that room too Finally gave us a key to room 210 and no one was in the room, but the TV did not work and there were scary water stains on the ceiling They moved us across the hall to 211 The room was a handicap accessible room, so there was a walk in shower with no lip or edge which flooded the bathroom every time you used it Also there were broken tiles and I am sure there is a huge water stain on the ceiling of the room belowBreakfast was awesome, but the police came for a group of young ladies and remained until the ladies finished their foodabout an hourOverall I would not recommend the placewalls were thin and people were running up and down the halls at around 2:30 amIt was clean in the rooms – the shared areas needed a good vacuuming and elevators were full of trash

Glenn Fielder

Haven’t stayed here in years but thought we’d give it a try again Front desk was pleasant and got us going to our room quickly Room furniture is looking well worn, same for bathroom as there is mildew on tile grout and tub looks like Breaking Bad filmed there

Also had to fix a broken curtain for privacy Next morning there were beer cans in the hallway and wife complained that breakfast was not good Wife went down to check the fitness room and pool and was back quickly stating both areas were filthy Came back later that evening and trash cans were overflowing and our floor sounded like party central Best part was, we got to our room and neither of our key cards would unlock our door, so back down to the front desk to get them replaced Next morning, we check the breakfast again and just about everything is gone and they say they are cooking more Just left and got breakfast elsewhere

Rachel Spencer

I love my rooms especially the jacuzzi suite my rooms were cleaned very helpful the manager was very helpful with accommodations because when I first arrived one of my rooms wasn’t cleaned wasn’t happy but we made it happened by cleaning one of our connected suites ourself The jacuzzi was nice and relaxing I shall say the beds were comfortable I had to make some accommodations because of my injuries so they made sure that they make they beds were comfortable for me by giving me extra pillows the pool was nice clean warm water Alexis was very nice too I ♥️her etc

the breakfast was good too especially the pancake maker will be coming back soon

This was one of the nicest hotels I have visited in a long time Glass elevator rooms that are up to date with great amenities A pool, workout room, brunch style breakfast in the morning where they have a chef making omelets custom however you want them

The layout was very unique, all floors could be seen from the main level and from the room you can walk out and view the entire first floor Nice bar and restaurant as well The staff does an excellent job accommodating the needs of guest

Alex Eddy

The hotel was really cool The elevators was a bit under maintained And my room and a couple of others room I walked into weren’t very detailed clean

Still hair in the shower and dirty streaks on the shower door and drainstill used soap in there The carpet wasn’t swept very welltook my boots off and socks and it was like walking on crumbs The tables still had cup marks on them and there was layers of dust on the TV stand and end tables by bed This wasn’t just one room This was five different rooms from level 8 to level 4 Detailed Cleaning would go a long wayStaff was super helpful and FriendlyAlso the rooms had a very musky smell to them almost like damp basement smell TV in the bedroom said would turn on but had zero TV TV In the couch area had channels UT the screen was very blurryNice hotel but for as nice as it comes off to be could be alot cleaner and smell a bit better in the roomsI’d give it 5 stars if it was cleanerHad food it was lasagna it was still frozen in the middle Had a sweet little older lady greeting and picking up our plates” ALL BY HERSELF “! with a full dining room while others young men were on their phones I mentioned it to the young men and they just blew me off Not very respectful to there older lady Co worker That lady I didn’t catch her name wish I didbut she was working her butt off with an amazing attitude I let those other lazy boys go and hire 3 of herThose few things change the next time we stay there and I’ll give it a better review Guess we’ll see if customers advice and reviews matter

Embassy Suites is normally my favorite hotel but this trip is quite disappointing We paid for an expensive room that was marketed as nicer than it was Not a huge deal, its still a fine room, but there’s more issues

Our first room was a mess… when we entered all the drawers were open, the microwave was open and had pieces missing, there were glass cups everywhere on the floor, it was ridiculous So we switched rooms to the same type of room on a new floor This room was much better, but there were some random issues like the toilet paper holder being broken and the shower door handle being extremely loose Then, when we were preparing the sofa bed, there were no sheets because instead of being washed and put away for us to put on the bed, they were never taken off from the previous use and the top sheet was stuffed under the coach cushions The dirty sheet was also visibly dirty, like stains all over kind of dirty, it was gross Also, the blanket that goes with it had some stains on it that had a crusty texture, even though it was in the plastic bag seemingly cleaned unlike the sheets (i guess it wasn’t cleaned though, at least not enough because it was gross) We got new sheets and a new blanket, but the new blanket had bleach stains all over it and had a towel-texture instead of a soft texture We stayed at a different Hilton hotel last night that was much cheaper and it was the same blanket except theirs was actually soft On top of that, general issues like the shower sucks (no shelves or ledges to set products on, no ledge to shave, etc) and the fact that on weekdays breakfast ends at 9am (10am on weekends), which is way too early 10am is okay but 9 is not reasonable Im just very disappointed with our stay and the staff was barely helpful It seems to be working out alright now but it was an extremely stressful first day and the room is not as good as it should be considering the very high price The lobby was also kind of a mess, I understand that they are doing construction so its not a big deal but still The biggest problem with the lobby was the elevators… this may just be my irrational fears but I did not like how one of the elevators was very squeaky and rattled as we went up and down I’m sure it’s still safe but it did not make me feel very secure, it could probabaly use some maintenance so that should have already happened…

We came here for a wedding which was really nicely hosted The rooms were simple and clean and the front desk accommodated us fairly well and quickly I wish they had someone to help us with our bags when we arrived past midnight from a 6 hour road trip tho, or a vallet option

There were also a few things I would have expected in the room like a lock safe, or carpeted floors in the room Overall it was not bad, still would generally recommend Marriott to anyone

Sub-par hotelExpensive and not worth itHotel is old and outdated

Bathroom does not have ventilation, TV doesn’t offer streaming from phone yet that TV model has that capabilityBreakfast is an extra 20$ per person besides 200$ a night roomBed and pillows are however the WORSTWe took King size bed room and I’ve never seen that BAD quality mattress and pillowsI couldn’t sleep all night and pillows are so soft and empty that you fall flat right onto wooden mattressDo yourself a favour if you stay here and buy a pillow at dollar storeThe cherry on top is that hot water pool was closed and nothing mentions thatShould be downgraded to a 2 star hotel

I’m going to get the young lady’s name but she was at the front desk to check us in and she was simply superb she was the definition of customer service a far cry from the Marriott downtown in Detroit she was very good she even offered me Starbucks coffee she got us checked in quick fast and in a hurry and I haven’t been pleased with hotel service which I’ll use frequently in a long long time
