I’ve frequented hotels for over 25 years and never experienced this before

the light blocking curtains are intentionally installed in such a manner that you cannot close them As others have complained, the beds are uncomfortably firm Then, the TV service went out just before 1AM for approximately 20 minutes I doubt I’ll ever stay here again

Michael Koon

The internet is terrible Never more than 5mb download speeds, less than 1 most of the time I called front desk about it, and despite advertising high speed internet, they apparently don’t offer it

Don’t plan on getting any work done on a laptop without having a mobile hotspot Kind of wild to have such slow internet at this kind of hotel these daysAlso, check your shower, mine only stayed hot for about a minute before running cold for a few minutes, and kept repeating this cycle After working in 100 degree heat all day, the cold water was pretty shocking

We came here for a little staycation We had a package for a resort credit and breakfast We spent our day at the spa Saturday

They were excellent This review is not for them The room was your typical hotel room The bed was awful Hard as a rock My husband even asked me at midnight if we wanted to go home The pillows were feather pillows that withered away to nothing when you laid your head on them I’m going to have to rerun to the spa after laying on that rock all night I then tried to use a gift card for portion of our stay After running the card 6 times I was told they couldn’t get it to go through Didn’t bother to call for help to find out why Come to find out my card was charged $1 every time they ran it! For the money I paid this was an awful stay I’ve stayed at hotels that cost way less and had a better experience Not the luxurious stay I was hoping for DisappointedWas also not impressed with the indoor pool and hot tub area Needs a major upgradeCould hear every noise that was made in the hallwayConstruction was the greatest view 👌👌Nothing luxury about this luxury hotel go spend your money somewhere better

I came here for an event and stayed one night When we arrived, and very nice porter took care of everything and took us to our room Rooms were very clean, as well as the overall hotel

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful The view was nice, and the hotel is actively working on making it even better with upgrades The price to performance is quite decent I recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere luxurious to stay!

Worst hotel experience of my life Came down here for a couples vacation planned with the normal activities: sitting by the pool, spa, room service, etc

We were excited to enjoy the full resort experience; boy were we disappointed We originally planned to stay for 3 nights but checked out a day early because the experience was so bad Even checking out required an hour long argument with the manager Let me start from the beginning The room we paid extra for with “views of the golf course” was a construction site No mention of this on the website and certainly not reflected in the nightly rate It was dirty, the bed was hard, the balcony had a colony of roaches living on it Called for pillows at 4pm and never received them We were not notified that housekeeping was by request only and even when we requested it, they never came 20% gratuity included because they know the service is terrible Room service was same quality as a Denny’s When we checked out, the bellboy never showed up after 40 minutes of waiting Only redeeming part of this trip is that the spa experience was great and the staff there were quite nice and talented Everything about staying at the hotel was a nightmare and I will not be staying at another Marriott if this is their definition of ‘luxury’

Before I decided to book a room at this Best Western, I checked out the ratings and reviews of several other hotels near this one They were mostly in the 3_ range or lower for various reasons including cockroaches, dirty bed sheets, rank musty room odor, etc

When I walked up to the front desk at Best Western, Dana was very cordial, courteous, and professional She checked me in without a hitch and even took the time to strike up a friendly conversation, which made me feel very welcomedWhen I walked to my room, I discovered that my room door was right next to the exit door (to the stairwell) on the second floor I thought this might be a problem with noise of people coming in and out and the door slamming shut I opened the door and let it close and it was very quiet, so I was relieved that that would not be a problem When I walked into my room, it smelled fresh…there was no stale or musty odor The room was brilliant and looked like it had recently been remodeled Everything was up-to-date and sparkling clean! The heat and AC worked well, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was very well put together The maid service kept my room tidy each day and refreshed the towels, etc My two night stay could not have been better!

Mila Kukacka

Nice and clean hotel, we spent only 1 night but it was very pleasant stay All new upgraded and clean, hot breakfast, shower worked wellNice, pleasant and helpful staff, When we checked out in the morning, Monique was very pleasant and cheerfulThe only thing I was not too happy about was the noise from the highway, next time we will have to ask for quiet room( that’s why only 4 stars)

Hillary Attar

Nice rooms very clean and staff were very helpful My only criticism would be that the extra blanket they brought us for the pull out couch bed was super itchy and uncomfortable, and they didn’t have any pillows available so we had to use 2 from our bed to give our kids, leaving us with 1 very flat and lumpy pillow each Still though, I would definitely stay again!

A lot of people like to leave negative reviews, but I want to focus on what this location did right They have amazingly friendly staff who made me and my daughter feel welcome I was pleased to find out that pets are indeed allowed, which means the next time I travel I may bring my furbaby with me

The location is family friendly They have a fire pit and grills outside to cook on But if you want to dine in, they have a stove, full size refrigerator and will supply pots and pans, utensils, and seasonings The beds are so plush and comfortable, I slept soundly So grateful to get to stay at this location when I visited Rock Hill I will definitely return

Erica Smith

The Service was very poor and the rooms were horrible Can you say Motel 6! After traveling 8 hours, I arrive to a smelly and Stinky room The toilets and the tubes were nasty

The toilet seats were yellow with the ceramic coming off of them The bottom of the tubes where horrible When you turned the shower on the pipes pushed water out and wet the whole bathroom There were rust on the walls and the smell of mildew and urine filled the hallways I arrived at 8 am and reported the condition of the room They offered to move me or come clean it I elected to move The manager asked if I could give her until noon When noon came around, I called the front desk and she said she would send someone They did not do a good job! At all! The manager was rude and disrespectful I left the hotel She never checked me in probably and she found my credit card number and charged be for a room , I never stayed at She charged my card without permission I never gave her permission to charge my card She lied and said she waited for me to come down and she did not I would not let my pet snake stay here The breakfast was horrible the pool smelled like swamp water You would have been better off sleeping in an alley

Colleen C

Traditionally select Marriott properties This one is a disappointment- actually it’s a dump Old, hallways smell, rooms leave a lot to be desired – small and not what I’d consider clean enough

Dishes still in the dishwasher No contact with any staff Picked as it was dog friendly Wish I’d read all the reviews before booking Choose the Hampton Inn that’s right next door – same price – and reviews are better

If I could give a zero rating I would We booked a reservation at this hotel as it was listed as pet friendly at bookingcom

After driving for over 13 hours, we arrived at the hotel exhausted and looking forward to our room Earlier in the day, I received an email that my credit card had been declined Not true as I called right away and the hotel put the room charge through before we arrived When we did arrive, the front desk manager asked me if we had any pets When I said, a cat he gave me a cold stare and said I’m not giving you the reservation because we don’t take cats I thought he was joking at first I told him that I had already paid and had booked the hotel as it was pet friendly He said, “you’re not staying here” quite rudely And we only take dogs” I then asked for a refund and he waved me off, that I would receive it in 3-5 days This is the rudest person I have ever encountered working for a hotel He could have cared less about our situation and that we had to now scramble for another room at a different hotel on a Friday night No suggestion about where I could look When my husband came in and asked to see the manager, he said he was the manager A verbal altercation took place as he continued to be very offensive and he commented that we should not be travelling with a cat Fortunately the service rep at bookingcom found us a room at the Hampton Inn at a higher rate We will never stay at a La Quinta again I still can’t believe how awful the front desk person was

Carmon Angel

Wonderful stay! Night shift employee, Christin was amazing! She helped us multiple times whenever we needed something Super pet friendly and clean rooms Only issue – thin walls

The ice machine woke us up multiple times but the amazing customer service made upFor it Thank you christin! 🙂

BUYER BEWARE Terrible customer service Stayed there over the weekend for a volleyball tournament in the area

First off, they only had one pack-and-play for parents with small children (which is odd for a hotel) and when I asked for it, they flatly said “it’s broken” Ok…so I made my own accommodations and my baby just had to sleep in the bed with me Then I asked for a late checkout (early in the morning in case the game went over by an hour or so), typical request obviously, and the front desk again flatly said “No” No reason was offered and when I asked why not, they still did not provide a reason Just glares I was being very pleasant so I don’t understand why the staff was being so rude They get paid to be there, especially in a service-type occupation in which you deal with people on a continual basis so if they hate it so bad why not just look for another job I will avoid this hotel and blacklist it from our volleyball tournaments as ‘available hotels in the area to stay at’ in the future Hope this helps

Everything was so perfect It was better than perfect!!! The rooms were big for having two beds, the beds were comfortable, the room decor was relaxing, and our room was SUPER clean There were two bottles of water in the room for us to use for coffee or drinking

It was nice that we didnt have to use tap water I felt safeBreakfast wasn’t free but the chef and breakfast attendant went above and beyond to make sure we were happy The grits were amazing! We got a great rate for a Saturday night I’m not a morning person so it was awesome that I had such a perfect morning to start my the day off right! I had just driven ten hours from Florida the day prior So waking up feeling refreshed, having a perfect breakfast and having a perfect morning was a great way to get back on the road It really made a huge impact on the rest of my day! I’m so happy that mom and I decided to stay at this location for the night

Stayed for one nightWas upgraded to a bigger, more comfortable room which was a nice bonus The room was showing some age, with signs of drywall/plaster peeling from parts of the ceiling – this was the only negative

Staff was friendly, and accommodating Weather was good, so we took advantage of the pool and the weekend buffet style breakfast was quite good

lucas prestera

The property wasn’t the cleanest, but the staff was super nice and accommodating , bathrooms could use updating and light switches looked nasty, the carpet in room 212 had multiple stains and the couch looked “well used” to be nice about itI probably will just stay at the Tru by Hilton down the street in the future

Decent Marriott, but going to give this one 5 stars because of v good service All the staff were good including front desk What really stood out was lady in charge of breakfast (Patsy?)

Wonderful to meet someone so passionate about her job who enjoys helping guests She insisted on personally cooking waffles for me and my sons– lots of laughs and smiles (see pics)

H Boney

Second time staying here very disappointed in the staffing I asked to change rooms they informed me they were sold out Went back an hour later to get some utensils

A lady walked in and asked for a room They gave her an executive suite and the rate was cheaper than the one I had for single bed king room and I’m a Marriott Bonvoy Member I asked again and they claim they forgot I wanted an upgrade In short the doesn’t matter if you a Marriott Bonvoy Member or not they treat non-members better and they don’t care if you get the accommodations you want Very disappointed in the staff The hotel is nice but the staffing do not understand customer service Insult to injury the bed was a queen I’m 6’3″ and my feet was hanging off the bed If you can find another hotel I would recommend you go that route

Desiree Shaw-Stephens

First of we were supposed to be in Room 310 and at 9 at something and the room was DIRTY , the bed had obviously been slept in and there were dirty wet towels all over the bathroom 😠😠 They did give us another room but my goodness and the room we did have , supposedly has a pull out sofa bed and the mattress on that bed was trash !! I’m not sure you could even call that a mattress You might as well sleep on the floor

I have NEVER stayed in a hotel where someone really puts in so much help and kindness Hes always working to make your stay better

Trixie Mac

The hotels appearance is appealing, the staff was pleasant & helpful The area is plentiful with restaurants, shopping etcWe stayed 3 days total, booking was easy through the hotels website, FYI if you want a better rate book online it is cheaper than booking at the hotel

The hotel was very clean, although the bathroom mirror was dirty & there was popcorn butter in the microwave (not bad but it was there in a cleaned room) the only thing I could point out to housekeeping is clean the glass on the pictures they were dirty Other than that it was a very pleasant stay

Jen

I checked out of the hotel 2 days early and instead of being refunded they charged my card The manager, Sharad, tried to tell me it didn’t charge my card when it clearly did Then he told me it was an authorization charge

After letting him know I wanted a refund asap he finally done it Although it took about 20 minutes Clearly trying to rip people offEvery night I had been going down to the front desk to get towels since we were there for 5 days On the 4th night the clerk informed me that towels had to be brought down before she could give me anymore Even tho I stood right behind a women who was given towels and told to put her old towels out by the door to be picked up by the maids in the morningThe pool was dirty The bathroom floor was dirty The elevator smelled like a dog The breakfast wasn’t good Only cereal, waffles & bagels

I absolutely love this place I stayed two weekends in a row! The first weekend I was extremely upset because I took my children to swim for the weekend and they were unable to do so because some kids bullying my son! Melissa came down personally to make sure my son was okay But MSLILLIE IS OUR ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!!!! She comforted my son and make him feel so much better and went out of her way to make us feel welcomed

It was only because of her that we came back for my son’s birthday on 4/16 our stay was way better this time around and we were looking forward to seeing her smile at breakfast! She is absolutely amazing and she definitely saved me as a customer because before her I didn’t want to stay there ever again!!!!! She is definitely and asset to the quality inn brand! We love MsLillie ❤️❤️❤️

Susan Nelson

Great price for the location to go to Carowinds The pool is alright, not very spacious but it was enough to satisfy the children We got the room with 2 queens and a sleeper sofa, it was the most spacious room we’ve had for that combination in the last few years of taking vacations with the kids

Breakfast has a great variety!

Excellent service! I booked a reservation through a third party vendor and they botched it Tyshion was super helpful in working with the third party to get us the correct rooms on a sold out night His patience and understanding were top notch and I thank him greatly

I’m traveling with older family and young children, glad we stayed The rooms were clean and comfortable!

Shannon Carney

Above and beyond helpful I was traveling alone for work and broke a wheel on my suitcase My husband sent me new wheels but didn’t have the right tools to replace the wheels

The front desk put me in contact with the chief engineer at the hotel and he brought his tools and replaced my wheels!! Such a life saver!! Great experience and excellent customer service at this Courtyard Highly recommend

Jennifer Melles

Made a reservation for a room for a certain room type Noted in the confirmation that I can’t change or modify the reservation after a given date On the date of check-in, I see that the hotel has modified my reservation for a room type I did not choose or agree to pay

No notification at all So, I can’t modify or cancel since it’s after the give time-frame Now it’s the date of the reservation and I have no other options Horrible customer experience let alone unethical business practices

The rooms are nice Bathrooms are small The refrigerator door should be reversed

The service is on the slow side and I do not really care for their breakfasts although that is more my taste than the quality of the breakfasts One outstanding service is that breakfast while scheduled to be between 6:30 and 9 AM was always ready early to help the guests that were staying for work on a local outage It was greatly appreciated by myself and other guests It definitely made up for the other minor items mentioned in my review This property is definitely a favorite and a place I would stay at again

Joe LaFerriere

Been a very long time (20+ years) since my last stay at a Hilton property, decided to give them a chance again after such a long hiatus Booked the reservation online and opted for the pay in advance rate which provided a significant discount I arrived early and was greeted by Kayla and Georgia…two exceptional representatives of the property

I was too early for check-in so they provided me some local options for a couple of hours When I returned check-in was easy and Kayla took excellent care of me My room was very nice and quite large…good for an extended stay with the small kitchen and full size refrigerator The room was clean, nicely appointed, and comfortable No problems the entire stay and will keep this property as a favorite when I return to this area

Pokemon Café

This location was clean, and the employees were not very friendly The room was spacious The bed was comfortable

There was 1 dishwasher liquid but no dish cloth or sponge to wash dishes There was dirty coffee cup on the dishwasher machine from the previous guestThe bathroom was running out of shampoo dispenser in the shower

Julie at the front desk is phenomenal All rooms at 4 different hotels very near were all full and Julie was able to figure out a way for us to book a room for a family of 4 Not only did she help us, but she also called multiple places helping another guest who was driving from FL to Canada find a place

This is superb customer service, great job Julie! This place is so very clean and fits us well We will definitely be back to stay here, booking ahead of time next time Loved how the rooms are super efficient!

The hotel was nice and clean but the best part was the staff Nigeria, Chris, and GiGi were absolutely amazing and accommodating They helped us with multiple issues(our kid threw up

a lot)as well as making us feel welcomed Honestly I stay in a lot of hotels around the US and this is the first time I felt compelled to leave a review about the staff I hope they get some kind of recognition for this because without them it’d just be another hotel!

If you are short the bed makes you feel like a little kid they are really tall For the bathroom the sink is further from the edge and is more suited for a tall person and the toilet is very short the tub is not deep if you are a large person you won’t want to take a bath Wanted to add the pool is much smaller than what the pic shows it is 3 ft

On one end and 5ft on the other I would say maybe 3 people swimming at a time and the jacuzzi was boarded upThe staff was very nice and polite Rooms were clean and nicely furnished

Room was clean & very nice Hotel is well kept and surroundings are pretty safe & peaceful There’s a young man named Leo at the front desk and he is the nicest , most hospitable , most professional, kind , hard working , and accommodating employee I’ve ever come across working at a hotel desk

He made our stay as nice as it gets ❣️ He also went out of his way to give me something hotel provides when I was told no by another very rude woman employed at this hotel In fact , Leo is the reason I can say anything kind about the customer service part of my review so , THANK YOU VERY MUCH LEO FOR ALL YOU’VE DONE TO MAKE OUR STAY EXCELLENT ❣️❣️ I HOPE THE OWNER KNOWS WHAT AN ASSET YOU ARE TO COMFORT SUITES & THE CHOICE HOTEL BRAND !!! Sincerely, a lady that loves cereal without milk ! 😂

I booked at this hotel, as I have before My air conditioning at my house is being replaced tomorrow, and I was going to stay here An employee called and said due to me being within 40 miles, I can’t stay

I’ve stayed here before with no issue, when having work done to my house This makes absolutely no sense, if something wrong happens you have my credit card on file Other hotels will gladly accept my business next door**update Hotel still charged me for my stay They listed me as a no show I had to call the choice privileges 800 number to get issues resolved Avoid at all cost**
