There is a small “water park” and a big hot tub for the kids to enjoyThe casino is pretty large and the machines weren’t super tight They have about 8 table games if you prefer cards The sports book is very nice with a massive TV screenWe went to the sports bar the good was good amd the the wait was shortThey are under construction but you hardly notice once inside

Deb Landoll

We drove here to eat at Oggie’s Sport Bar and we were very pleased with the service, selection and quality of food Would definitely eat here again if we were in the area We we staying in a cabin nearby and decided we wanted a nice dinner one evening

Nice accommodations, but parking is located across the street and very tight We could barely get out when we left, it was so tightBeware if you are booking for 5 people

The reservation system will tell you it will sleep 5, but the hotel will charge another $10 for a rollaway because they don’t have any rooms that sleep 5 Hotel staff (specifically Kyra, the assistant manager) was unhelpful and insisted on charging me extra anyway I will be disputing this charge with the credit card company since I’m getting no help from hotel management

Kayla Tucker

Nice new hotel in Deadwood Upon entering from parking garage there is a strong scent that is overbearing Location is great to walk around and Tin Lizzie has many options for dining/gambling/drinking

Parking is $15 but they do give you $15 in free play to offset which is similar to sister property and Cadillac Jacks Love the fire pits outside on balcony and would be nice to enjoy but the weather wasn’t nice enough Breakfast is menu style so plan accordingly Breakfast burrito was large and could have shared Overall a great place to stay with good customer service and very comfortable beds Would recommend and stay again!

RN Probus

This property does not have many of the amenities listed in the descriptionNo HBO Parking is a complete mess

Rooms do not have a tub, let alone separate tub and shower There is also no concierge level for advanced loyalty members, so you will get placed next to loud people with thin walls who don’t know how to behave in a hotel Do not get an adjoining room unless the party adjacent is in your group However, it is one of the newest and nicest properties in town Breakfast is good (again, no lounge for loyalty members) and folks are very nice The bar is very appealing, decor is modern, and outside decks are relaxing

C K

Absolutely never ever again will we be staying here Got checked in, extremely confusing check in process The guy at the front desk was absolutely no help on finding our room

The parking situation is a joke as for paying 15 bucks for parking in “their” parking, which is full, so you will still be paying 15 bucks to park in free city parking When we got to our room, the door opened and closed so incredibly hard, I literally had to kick it open just to get in Do yourself a favor, either save your money and go to a cheaper place that is more friendly, or spend up a bit and go anywhere but here At this rate, this place won’t be in business long

I have stayed here several times now They have nice clean and comfortable rooms The pool area is large with plenty of seating especially if you have a large family or are traveling with a couple of families

The pool also has access to an outdoor patio with a grassy area Friendly staff as well They do not have breakfast but they do offer a discount coupon for Perkins which is across the parking lot and they also have a snack/breakfast bag If I could recommend one thing it would be to bring your own bath towel, I am not a large man but a hand towel rivals the size of their bath towels Overall a very good value

Came for a conference and it was lovely! They were doing some construction but not loud or intrusive while I was there Room was cleanThe parking situation was quite confusing but that just has to do with the layout of the town I think

Anyways just know you will have to walk about a block and a half or so back to the hotel once you are parked, so be ready for thatLocation was great, historic downtown was literally around the corner so it was easy to accessStaff were very friendly, they all were especially kind to my dog and offered him treats Michelle was very helpful at the front desk answering questions when I had them Overall very satisfied

Ashley Seier

This is easily the grossest Holiday Inn I have stayed at The whole inside reeks of some kind of chemical mixed with mildew The fan did not work in my room, it was a beautiful 70 degrees outside but the room was so humid and sticky

The sheets were stained and there was hair in the bathroom My room had a large window that you could directly see in from the hallway when you got off the elevator, I could see clear into the rooms across from me too- very weird layout Definitely does not meet the standard of any other Holiday Inn I’ve experienced

Patty Nelson

Location is great Our room was interior with a window to the courtyard Weird and small compared to our friends room and we paid the same price

My husband could not sleep said mold was coming out of the vents Which you wouldn’t expect from a renovated hotel Over $600 for two nights is ridiculous I have probably stayed here around 9 times Time to move on

Things I didn’t like: The walls are thin, and the lights are operated individually with light switches Things I liked: The room does not have carpet, the bed is very firm with no pillow top, there’s a tiny microwave and dorm sized refrigerator, there is Mexican restaurant and a Subway within walking distance The room was cleaned everyday, and front desk was excellent every day of the stay

Overall, a good stay for the price The shower is oddly shaped, but we had no issues with that

Adrian Nagle

We stayed at this hotel for a last minute travel arrangement for a visit in Belle Fourche This location is cleanRooms are simple, comfortable, clean, and in convenient location for Belle Fourche

Floors are hard which makes it loud in the room Beds were of OK comfort The bathroom was a bit small, at least the sink counter for 4 people The shower was in a very awkward triangular shape, with shower head an inch from the shower curtain I made it work, but it was not convenientThe doors were thin, but hallways carpeted which absorbed sound This location includes breakfast and a poolBreakfast was simply donuts and coffee with some options of yogurt There is a pancake “machine” which my 8 year old found entertaining and fun All you do is press OK and you can watch 2 pancakes cook and fall on a plateOverall this was a comfortable stay I might try a different location if the occasion arises

I just can’t say enough good things about this hotel and it’s staff Friendly, accommodating, and very pleasant The casino in the hotel is quaint, and quiet! It has a real “locals” feel to it

Everyone we interacted with were just above and beyond Room was huge! Clean, comfortable I would absolutely recommend this location and will for sure stay here again if I come back to Deadwood!! Thanks for the amazing stay!

Kelly Tillerson

Perfect location! We wanted to stay in something different than your typical hotel, nailed it! Hotel had great parking, location was right in the middle of everything, historic, beautiful, perfection Will definitely recommend to everyone Lobby was classy, room was comfortable, bathroom did not disappoint

The hotel itself is fine if you like a step back in time We’ve stayed here several times However, this visit was different

We were told at check in they no longer accept AAA and never did However, when we asked someone else they stayed they did and honored it The veranda was inconsistent with different staff One allows you to open a tab and another doesn’t Despite this trip being mediocre, the steakhouse was amazing! I’d give that five stars alone

rob kleen

Staying here is like taking a step back in time, the rooms are great, the front desk staff were awesome We went across the street to the buffet and it was good for the price, a great variety But what made our stay awesome was the guy at the front door, very welcoming helped us with every need that we had

Would completely recommend to anyone

Jason Gray

This was such a cool experience! The rooms are about the same as they have been since the old times Even has a claw tub in the bath! A lot of rooms had names of famous people’s names on the doors of the rooms they stayed in The staff were extremely friendly and had no problems answering any questions we had plus they even had someone to shuttle us from there parking lot back to the hotel with our stuff

I really enjoyed our experience there! Highly recommend!!!

The staff were helpful and nice It didn’t matter what time of day we were in the staff maintained their hospitality The room was clean and put together so nice

The bathroom was clean and didn’t have any gross spots hiding It was so spacious and it seemed like everything was shining Highly recommend staying here for anyone: single, couples, groups, families

Dustin Wright

Without a doubt one of the best 3 star hotels in the Black Hills The room was incredibly clean and well maintained It was quiet even for being on the main strip

Being able to close the double curtains and make it nice and dark was a plus The TV guide having HBO Go and Showtime apps available for free was a nice touch as well as being able to log into your own Netflix The little food shop at the front desk making it unnecessary to go out for snacks and drinks was great, especially since parking can be a bit of a struggle, though the underground parking was surprisingly spacious and usually had room Each staff member I interacted with was quite friendly and made every effort to ensuring I was having a great stay I don’t see myself staying elsewhere on any future trips to the area as long as the prices remain reasonable

Anne V M

Hotel is nice and in a great Breakfast is awful they offered microwave turkey burritos that are over cooked and soggy spinach quiches, hard boiled eggs and some cereal for 3 days in a row Had the “breakfast buffet ” offered a bit of variety ,and you didn’t have to wait 10 min plus for them to actually bring items out this hotel would have received a 5 stats rating

Beautiful location, beautiful lobby Nice bar and gift shop but drinks and gift shop items are pretty outrageously priced Love that we were able to bring our dogs without an issue

Love the hiking trail right behind the hotel Only about 25 minutes from downtown Spearfish Wish the beds weren’t so firm but weren’t too bad Overall had a lovely weekend

Tracy Stegner

My family & I have enjoyed this lodge and restaurant for many years I called to make reservations for this Mother’s Day with a guest services young lady named ” Bernie” What a delight! She represents this destination in excellence! Kudos Bernie! We love it here! Food is wonderful, the service impeccable and the views from the outdoor patio are amazing for photo ops!

Jason Motley

The lodge itself was very nice It’s clean and in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen Surrounded by mountains and beautiful water falls with trails

There were a couple of things that brought down the experience My reservation got moved to a smaller room because of a non working fireplace without consulting me Same price just a smaller room That was disappointing but still made it work I was surprised at just how cheap the shears were They weren’t the right sheet for a deep mattress and would come off every time we got into the bed The “comforter “ was something you would expect in a $49 room not a $200 roomThe staff were friendly at check in however if you asked for anything from them they were willing to help but not excited about itOver all it was a great experience and if a few hospitality changes were made it would be an outstanding experience with 5 stars!

What a gem even in winter! Arcade, bar, pool tables and darts all open after lunch in the hotel Perfect start with breakfast, a somewhat small pool but absolutely sufficient Just was absolutely great

We did stop at the visitors center and get $1 tokens for the deadwood trolley If you pay on the trolley, it’s $2 per ride but it’s a great way to get around from the hotel My only wish is that the trolley would stop at the chocolate shop up the road or a hotel near it – no issue of the hotel, just my little wish:)

Marty Pillsbury

A great hotel with a beautiful location The room was very clean and comfortable The staff is friendly and helpful about all the hot spots to go visit

Mini golf course, arcade room , bar , slot machines, restaurant, exercise room and the trolly that comes by every two hours to drop you off right to any location downtown Will definitely be going back for the great experience

Exceptional customer service from Chuck who helped us get our room last minute after a scheduling error on our part Kind, professional, and even laughed at my dad’s cheesy jokesLove that it’s just a short walk from historic Main Street in Deadwood and the trail system

Right across the street from the trolley stop if you don’t want to walk, too Room was clean with comfortable beds, was very quiet even late on a Saturday Night! Didn’t play slots this visit but there’s a lot of machines on the casino level to suit many different tastes We got discounts on the restaurants in the building which was a nice touch! The AC in our room had an easy to use thermostat and easily removable filters to give it an extra clean for those like me with bad allergies Has a Starbucks downstairs which is great to not have to sustain with only the in room coffee 😉 All staff we interacted with were pleasant and kind

Laura Picconatto

What a wonderful get away My husband and I were truly impressed with every single employee we met at Cadillac Jacks, everyone was so friendly and welcoming The property was absolutely spotless

Warner was exemplary in his position as casino host, he added so much to our already amazing visit We are already planning our next trip back Absolutely outstanding!!!! Thank you all!! Laura and Mike

Marissa Catlin

Valet parking got ink marks on my husband’s show car leather seat His Camaro is flawless and immaculately clean and preserved We don’t chance bring anything into the Camaro that might cause damage or risk an accidental mishap like a pen

I can only assume the person who parked or brought back the car had left the pen open in they’re pocket and it poked though and marked the seat unless it was done on purpose but either way we’re very upset someone was so carless with something so obviously cared for You’d think it just left the dealership Its in brand new car condition and we work hard to keep it that wayI’m just disappointed we made the decision to trust valet when we’d rather park ourselves The parking lot was full and we figured valet would be fine Big mistake!

Great stay at an unbeatable price! It’s hard to find good accommodation in Sturgis, and I’m so glad I got a room here The room was spotless, and the walls were very thick Someone next door was vocalizing in the night (due to intellectual disability, not deliberate behavior), but remarkably, it wasn’t audible at all when I was in my room

Night desk staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the young woman who was training someone else (didn’t catch a name) Loved the hassle-free checkout; just dropped my keys and went

cletus moore

I wanted to like this hotel While it was nice the people were nice, it just fell short The problems started at the beginning went to check in and they don’t do ANY check-ins before 3pm

Which you guessed it causes a backup at 3pm Was in line to check in for about 15 mins just to be told our room wasn’t ready and they would call in the next 20 mins to let us know our room was ready 35 mins later went in to find out what was going on, they had the keys just waiting there No call, nothingThe rooms were nice but there is NO sound barrier You hear the people upstairs doing everything There was such a gap between the door and the frame and the floor I had to get their extra blanket to cover it up just to sleep This is a pet friendly hotel and we have dogs while they’re usually pretty good with the barking when they hear something by their room they are going to bark With no sound barrier and the spaces in the door this was a crazy mess Good luck!

Kevin Small

I have stayed at multiple Best Westerns, and this one does not meet the standard you would expect Beds and pillows were old, washroom was very tiny, sink would back up quickly, a/c roared away and was even set on low Room in general was dated and sub-par

I would have moved hotels if it wasn’t for Sturgis Bike week and limited availability A month earlier I stayed in Spearfish at the Days Inn and it was great, this Best Western was a big downgradeHowever, the staff service was great, really friendly, and the location was also greatAll chains have a responsibility to maintain a certain standard so people can confidently book and reasonably know what your going to get, this one does not fit the chain

Jim French

Extremely dissatisfied with the service received at the Spearfish location Contacted Best Western well in advance to cancel our reservation due to a family development prohibiting travel for this date We were scheduled to stay only one night before attending a basketball camp at Black Hills State the next day

Unfortunately our daughter (camp participate) was injured and therefore unable to participate We cancelled her camp entirely & immediately when the severity of the injury confirmed The camp was understandingBest Western was not!During the conversation with Best Western we were informed we could not cancel and was referred to speak directly to the hotel Hotel representative (Mark) received the request and did what he could to assist us and spoke to the GM on our behalf Unfortunately the GM was unwilling to work with us even though we notified them well in advance and also are long time Best Western members After this experience and failed customer service from one GM in Spearfish we are disappointed and will never stay at a Best Western in any location in the future

By far one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in Insanely clean, luxurious bed/bedding, stylish, and accommodating to trucks/trailers while being in the heart of downtown Night desk personnel (Kristy/Krista, I can’t recall exactly) was so friendly and helpful

They keep their prices competitive with other hotels in town, but could definitely charge more We can’t recommend Hotel Sturgis enough!

Wonderful hotel! Unique, clean and the loft in the room was the best Coffee shop downstairs was super convenient We travel to this area a few times a year and will stay here again! Special shout out to ⭐️Sydney⭐️ who checked us in and helped us with our coffee the next morning

She greeted us with a smile both days and made us feel welcome She is a gem!

the employees are all so friendly and helpful, we spoke to Krysta, who was incredibly accommodating to us (who checked in pretty late) and even talked to us for a while which was wonderful When we got to our room, it was absolutely beautiful, the housekeeping really works hard to keep the rooms spotless the coffee shop at the front is adorable, and so are the employees Thank you guys so much for a wonderful stay, we will return if we ever come to town again (and we probably will)

The all you can eat crab N’ prime rib was fair at best The crab was very dry and tasteless The prime rib was cold and chewy

It was my first try at their all you can eat crab n’ prime rib I have had All the others in town, and this was by far the most dry, poor taste, and chewy buffet I have had What a shame I won’t try it again, waste of my hard earned money Beware if your gonna try it

After eating at the restaurant this evening, we were disappointed It started with being told they were training new wait staff We were fine with that UNTIL the trainer was too busy chatting it up to help train her new people

One of training waitresses brought out our food, which was horrible We’ve never had worse prime rib or a steak The trainer or waitress never came by to check if we needed refills, if everything was good etc When we did get the attention of a newbie waitress, she finally got our bill We observed for awhile as the newbies were just kind of roaming like they were lost and no one to guide them It’s too bad this seemed to be the case Safe yourself $50 and try a different place to eat

June 6th 2022 we were 3 guests in the restaurant and our service was sub standard but the manager apologized and set things right so all is good and First Golds number 1 priority is to make absolutely sure that their customers are satisfied,Thank You First Gold and I did see the most beautiful rainbow ever when standing outside waiting

Ok, so in the past couple years driving across the country I’ve stayed here 4 times, and I have to say this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at The price is great, the beds and rooms are really good And the pool hot tub area is nice

Many rooms have outside access and have a nice view for wildlife The staff are top notch and super friendly and helpful But it’s the breakfast that seals the deal Real eggs real omelets made fresh, etc

We’ve got some family down in Iowa, so occasionally we make trips down there When on our way last time in November, we made last minute reservations and it was an excellent stay This time we booked this hotel ahead of time and again, it was fantastic

The lady at the front desk, Denver, recognized us from last time and was super accommodating We left the hotel at 3 am, and she made all of the kids a little breakfast bag to take with them Overall its an amazing hotel to stay at if you happen to stop in Belle Fourche

Clean quiet rooms and friendly staff Lobby seating area has selection of paperback books and games that you can play I’d like to make a special point to mention Diane that works in the breakfast bar room

She is delightful, helpful, and makes a great omelet I wish every hotel I visit to had someone like her! Thank you I will be back!

My wife and I had not stayed here in years Most recently the reviews we saw were a little scary the pandemic had caused a lot of issues with hotels and their ability to survive

The Gulch also struggled with ownership changesWe decided to give it a shot even with the reviews we read We were thrilled with our stay the rooms were as good as ever The beds were comfortable and the room was very welcomingThe casino had a great mix of new and classic slots The staff was attentive and pleasant at every interactionNeedless to say our gamble paid off We had a great stay Sure we miss the free breakfast they used to have but I guess some things changeThe Gulch is still a great experienceEnjoy your stayRemember the scenery is as beautiful as ever from the from and the back of the hotel

Hotel is decent First floor, your door is in the outside to your room The second floor rooms are inside the hotel

They have a back patio area with a creek running behind it It’s open all night Great place to relax with a drink Not many slot machines, I’d say they have less than 70, great parking, and close to deadwood I rated a 3 because the rooms could use updating

Mary Anderson

We stayed here July 10, we arrived later in the evening and went down to the bar for a night cap about 11pm The waitress that served us was incredibly rude From the get go when we asked how late the bar was open to, through ordering our drinks to paying for them it was nothing but attitude and the impression that she couldn’t get rid of us fast enough

Other than the unpleasant server the hotel and the rest of the staff was pleasant and the cost of the hotel was budget friendly

We had a great stay, in the finest Mountain Harmony Suite It’s a beautiful room the has panoramic views of Deadwood and the surrounding Hills The restaurant on site had fantastic food and were accomodating for our special diet needs

This is a fairly expensive place to stay, and that fact slightly reduced my rating We stayed on a Wednesday and Thursday evening in June 2022, and the hotel was not seemingly busy so the price seemed high for a weekday stay Also, a negative to our family was having to walk through the Casino and take 2 elevators to get to our room Not an ideal situation for having younger kids Overall, I would stay here again next time we visit Deadwood!!

Nathan Telkamp

So, I have to say, I booked this hotel accidentally My wife and I were coming for a comedy show, and we thought it would be nice to stay the night I had a gift card for the lodge at deadwood

My mistake, of course, but the rude inflexibility of Robyn at the front desk was frustrating when she told me she would “absolutely not” cancel my reservation for me So there, I was out 330$ for one nightThe customer service was poor throughout the night There were no plates or utensils in the room for the microwave I went down to the front desk to ask for microwaveable plates to warm up some leftovers, and they gave me Styrofoam plates and said that was all they haveNow, after my stay, I find out on my bank statement that I’m being charged 16$ for “Spa Charges” for the SOAP Have you ever been charged for hotel soap before? This stay was a total bummer If you want to go to Deadwood, I would absolutely walk all the way to the Lodge or even Cadillac Jack’s before every staying here again

Dana Hanna

Reasons to stay here:- you require top notch amazingly comfortable beds, linens, blankets- you have a gambling problem- you have too much money- nothing else is availableI fell in the last category as it was a last minute trip and needed a room somewhereThe only entrance is through the casino and up an elevator to the lobby Then you have to take another elevator to your room

Parking is in a garage across the street from the main entrance This all makes it quite a hike if you have a lot of luggage There is concierge and valet tho, so again with the money, you’re welcome to have people do the work for ya if that’s your thingLocation was very convenient for walking into historic downtown and up town to Adam’s house and area aroundFront desk was neutral Not very informative or pleasant
