Quoting my wife “This place is so cute and quaint We have to come back and stay again ” the room at stayed in is as big as an apartment I lived in

Beds super comfy, the pool is great The text the staff for service is pretty cool The medium sized fridge was nice to have There is a number of places to eat and shop within a minute or 2 walk of the hotel We will be back

Anthony King

Beautiful new hotel Small but unique rooftop pool No more beach chairs and village shuttle transit included in the nightly rate

In my mind that’s a huge downgrade I still rate this a 45 star experience and a 35 star hotel The location is Not waterfront but very very prime I fear the new owners will drive the hotel quality into the ground

Dan W

Hotel Simone is working to be high end (in a casual southern Georgia way) and for the most part they pull it off In addition to the many positives mentioned by others, the check-in experience provided by Vonquez was over the top

enthusiastic, helpful, efficient But all staff we encountered were top notch Free or discounted access to King & Prince amenities was a nice bonus

I have stayed at plenty of higher end hotels and I can honestly say that I have NEVER been to one where every single worker from the front desk to housekeeping was super kind The place is keep immaculate! The breakfast area is nice with plenty of options to eat and drink and kept super clean by the lady who runs the kitchen Even looking into the kitchen from the dining area, was immaculate

The hotel room was nice, updated, and clean The pool area is beautiful I cannot recommend this hotel enough Book it! You will not regret it

(Coming back to visit again in 2 days and I’m very excited)This location is very quiet and peaceful!! The rooms were clean, besides someone’s dirty boxers left in a closet area, which I’m sure was an honest mistake because they were kinda hiding in there! Everything else was clean I threw them away and went on about my amazing stay & would give them 10 stars still, just because of the wonderful costumer service Thestaff here are so wonderful and accommodating! I forget the ladies name that checked us in but she was the sweetest lady, she told us if we needed anything to ask and anything we needed she was indeed ON IT

Everyone I’ve spoken too here has amazing hospitality Even just over the phone with questions, they are so nice!! Kindness goes a long way, and can really make or break a vacation I appreciate the good energy Would recommend this place to anyone! I’m hoping this next stay is just as good as the last ❤️❤️

Such opulence and decadence! Beautifully manicured landscaping and the structures are maintained well Plenty of old-growth trees and mature foliage make it seem much older than <100 years It could truly be it's own, closed-off community

It has everything you need and more The only odd thing I noticed was that, aside from staff and a handful of guests, everyone was whiteI still had a lovely second visit here- the food/service was great, no doubt to the Food and Beverage Mgrs and staff

Steve

We played golf at the plantation course $310 for the round Point of this review is to say you’re paying for the resort, not the course

Playing the course is worth $150 $310 is crazy overpriced for the golf experience Nothing super special about it However, the practice facility and mens locker room and setting on the water are great

The room was very clean and stocked It is convenient to local spots walking distance or a short drive to explore other local favorites The staff was the best! From the first hello to the last see you next time Definitely will book here again Thank you!

Had booked a weekend stay for 4/15-4/17 on 3/27 Unfortunately, my trip was cancelled on 4/3 and cancelled my reservation well in advance of my stay and their posted 4 day cancellation policy Luckily I checked my credit card statement and noticed that I had not received a credit

Called, no answer, and initiated a chargeback Have stayed in the past and everything was great, but extremely unimpressed by the lack of integrity in failing to issue a credit for a cancellation well in advance of the stay

Booked the 3 round package at each of the courses Seaside first then Plantation and then Retreat Seaside was in great condition but the round took nearly 5 hours

Plantation was in similar condition but took 5 hours Retreat was not in great condition and was slower through 9 so we quit Beautiful hotel but will not be back Play is simply too slow There should be no 2-balls and 12 minute intervals

Greg Jackson

My wife and I have spent the last decade celebrating New Year at the Lodge and it has been an amazing experience each and every time The property is immaculate and the staff is so friendly and inviting that it feels more like going home than to a resort I struggle with speaking to my colleagues about the property, because I want to keep this piece of heaven to myself, but I cannot help but to share my experience for others to have as well

Just an outstanding place with the best hotel staff I’ve ever met Ms Win, Patrick, Kayla, Will and the housekeeping manager (didn’t catch her name but she was so good to me) just went above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible

I fell sick during my stay and they were all so nice to me, Ms Win was an angel and put a little care package on my door St Simons is a beautiful island and this is a great hotel with real Southern hospitality, a rare gem Thank you for making my stay so special

Peter Bradshaw

I’ve stayed here twice, totaling two weeks The staff could not be friendlier, housekeeping or front deskRooms were clean and well stocked with dishes upon my arrival both visits

The fire pit and pool areas offer great views (pool especially if you are an aviation lover as I am)My reason for four stars over five is during my second stay I requested one visit from housekeeping When they cleaned the room, they left puddles of brown water in the bathroom The whole room smelled horrid I cleaned it up myself with one of the provided towels After that, the floor was still sticky but at least it didn’t smell badI would stay here again But I would for sure bring up my problems with house keeping before requesting it

Anthony Ursillo

The hotel did not allow for a contact-less check in which is the only reason I installed the App That meant I had to get my family back in the car, drive around the building, and wait in line to check inIf you are staying and hope to use the pool – don’t plan on it

The pool is RIGHT next to jets taking off the runway and the noise is unbearable at times Scared my little girl enough to not want to use the pool anymoreBreakfast was okay but it would be nice if they varied it somewhat day by dayI don’t understand why the bathroom has a sliding door that doesn’t close all the way Who doesn’t understand the need for privacy in the bathroom?

Stay here every July Nice facility, condos spacious Nice pool, access to ocean

But they are so slow turning rooms out No one wants to work anymore so I know it’s tough but we always can’t check in on the time and have waited anywhere from 30 – 60 minutes past 6 pm check in But if you’re more patient (I’m working on that), it’s a great place to stay

Doc Bino

Good location, well stocked kitchen & bathrooms Quiet environment Good customer and housekeeping servicesThis is not really a resort

The restaurant is open for dinner only & a few days of the week There are no other amenities I kick myself for not researching this location more for, where we stayed, there was no actual beach to go to and flies & mosquitos were everywhere I should have accounted for these 2 things before bookingI shorted my stay and the staff was very accommodating and professional If you read this, thank you

Mimi White

The pool is wonderful Stayed in a condo Rooms are small but very clean and my balcony has a beautiful ocean view

You can walk to the beach or pool in under 5 minutes The top rated restaurant on Jekyll is also a 5 minute walk in the parking lot Be prepared to wait hours to get in to eat The first night it was closed due to lack of staff I was not overly impressed with my food after reading all the great reviews, my shrimp was great, the coleslaw was watery and minced so fine you didn’t have to chew my friends mashed potatoes were dried out so bad the top was crusted and cracked I know there were people who waited over 2 hours to get a table

Absolutely phenomenal resort! Jekyll Island Ocean Club has everything you would want in a resort When you walk in the door you are greeted by the hosts, and a lovely fresh scent that is so inviting The view from the patio is unbeatable, the rooms are outstanding, and the staff is second to none

We will absolutely be back Thank you for an amazing weekend!

Budget quality at 5-Star pricesThe good:The restaurant on site, Eighty Ocean Kitchen and Bar, was excellent The food was great, the menu had variety, and the service was fantastic

This hotel is right on the ocean, with direct access from the hotel, to the pool, to the beach It’s all just steps awayThere are little shops and restaurants that are a five- to ten-minute walk north Tortuga Jacks is about a 15-minute walk, but it has a fun/casual vibe with live musicThe concierge was very helpful in getting some dinner arrangements bookedThe bad:The front desk seems understaffed or unprepared, not sure which They never seemed to have an answer related to anything with the hotel (particularly the shuttle that runs to the Jekyll Island Club)We accidentally left behind some articles of clothing, which the staff “couldn’t locate”, even though we told them the exact dresser drawer they were in It was evident that the cleaning staff kept them for themselves, and shame on us for forgetting them But disappointing for the money we paidBottom line:If you want beach-side accommodations, consider the Westin right next door If you want the historical Jekyll experience, consider the Jekyll Island Club (not the Ocean Club) If you want incredible service throughout at 5-star prices, consider Sea Island, which is just up the road

Rob F

Over-priced for what it isHotel: The hotel itself is nice and has a nice scent when walking in Receptionist greets you as you come and go which is nice but when you enter and then head 5 feet to the elevator a greeting AND goodbye is unnecessary

Room: Room was a good size but there were water stains on the ceiling from what I can only guess is a previous or active leak They provided 4 tiny water bottles and then two $6 Evian bottles There are ice machines on the floor but no convenient place to get water before or after hoursRestaurant: Restaurant food is good but very overpriced for what it is and very limited in options Most of the food seems like diner quality (fries, chicken fingers, burgers, pizzas, etc) Some of the meals seemed like they were cooked from scratch but it was a toss-up; and for the price you would expect better Selections are very limited and surprisingly not many seafood options They say they recommend reservations but the Resy app showed nothing available Heading down the the restaurant and the place was a ghost-town Not sure what the deal wasThe restaurant doesn’t open until 8am so if you want something other than the provided in-room k-cup “coffee”, head to the Westin next door and get some Starbucks

Stayed at Ocean 6/3 – 6/7 Owner/Management has just changed hands, so hoping for some nice updates, as neededOur experience was very positive, from front desk staff, to GM Rob, to housekeeping, to room

Room was quite comfortable, right temps, marble/granite bathroom, great shower, and best view from our room/deck Pool was open and refreshing, as needed Inn is very, very close to everything, which is great Right across from fabulous lighthouse Located in great neighborhood for walks and beach access

Kristin Collins

Room was ok Front staff were great! Very sweet man and woman working the front desk Sadly this hotel offered no breakfast, the pool was closed and property did not even have a smoking section outside or anywhere on the property

You had to leave your room, go outside and go sit in the dark across the street to smoke Being able to at least use the pool or sit around the closed pool would have been a nice option as well You’re really just paying a premium price for a bed to sleep in Lastly, the whole city smelled of feces Seems we were the only ones that noticed Was told it was a nearby paper plant Definitely don’t recommend St Simon’s Island if you have a sensitive nose or stomach

Katia Robinowicz

I really loved this hotel It was cozy, charming and somewhat romantic The staff was amazingly helpful

The whole place had an old Georgia feel, but was very cleanMy only complaint was the water pressure in my room Despite that, I still had a decent showerI liked that I could walk to the pier and shopping I was right across from the lighthouse and the shoreParking was greatNo trafficI recommend it and Id stay here again if i ever come back

10/10 will be coming back in the near future, my boyfriend and I stayed at the hotel about a week ago and you couldn’t have asked for a better place I felt like I was home The staff was super friendly

The night manager was extremely friendly and bubbly The room it’s self was beautiful I felt completely comfortable I loved being sooo close to the beachLike I said 10/10 we will definitely be coming back😁😁

I stayed at the Westin Jekyll on two occasions over the last few months and I really love this property It’s located in the most ideal area, close to shopping, restaurants and island amenities The hotel has a top notch restaurant (the Reserve), a spacious pool bar where you can order drinks and various bar food, and enjoy the attentive and fun staff (Elijah and Addison)

Overall there seems to be plenty of space for the guest as it never felt overrun or crowded Go here to relax, recharge, enjoy the beach and walking paths

Lauren Aikens

This is my third time staying here and I understand there are staffing shortages, but I wouldn’t waste your time or money staying here because the price is just not worth it The cafe was closed which would have ben nice had the hotel put multiple signs up after giving us vouchers to the cafe Now they are under some construction that is directly above our room this morning

Seems as though they would have put us in a room away from the construction, but I guess not Honestly I don’t like this hotel, but my mother would prefer to stay here, but this is our last time staying here Also, for such a nice place they really could upgrade their gym as well

Overall, the location is hard to beat Spending $1700 on a room (Oglethorpe) for 5 nights, I expected better Upon arrival, we had to immediately switch rooms because the first was so moldy and stinky that it was unbearable

Thankfully they switched us to another room that didn’t smell, but it too had mold We found stains on the walls, skittles in the sheets Cleaning service (only trash and towels) was hard to get consistently Sometimes they only brought new towels and didn’t take the old, etc The pool area is nice, though only one of the pools is heated (not the kid pool) The drinks are insanely expensive I recommend you go to the liquor store down the block for 5x less in price The restaurant was a great location right on the water, but nothing to write home about The gym is small and also stunk horribly All in all, for as much as we paid, I expected a lot better I imagine that there are better places on the island to staySee attached photo of the ottoman in our room This is just an example of how gross the room was

Darlene Major

This was a 75th birthday trip for my hubby The resort itself is amazing with multiple choices in accommodations We stayed in an ocean front villa

Although very nice, it was dated Carpet, appliance and furnishings are in need of an upgrade The staff were all 1st rate providing recommendations when requested and overall friendly and professional You can’t beat the beach, pool area and other amenities The King and Prince is definitely on our return list

Susan Bryant

Unfortunately this time was not good We were incredibly disappointed, as we’ve been many times and this wasn’t even close to the past The rooms (two sets Oceanfront Villa and Two Bedroom Condo) had issues

Everything from refrigerator, bugs, TV, cleanliness etc The price for what you get is very sad Almost 15k for almost a week with one functional restaurant on life support, no amenities as the spa is permanently closed, no chairs unless you spend 40 a day and each drink was 1500 We love the location and in all fairness they are trying some, but really need to train their staff better as cleanliness is a basic thing If you can’t offer amenities then just reduce your price and the expectations won’t be so high We won’t be back unless some things improve overall I hope they do work to get better as this used to be an incredible property that has truly gone down hill

I can’t review this place for the room or service as we didn’t stay here but we did a day trip involving walking the property, reading the historical boards, visiting the shops, piers, lunch at “The Pantry”, as well as admiring the bar and various housesThe property is amazing and their old oaks are absolutely amazing It was such a nice easy day strolling the property

The pantry was a fun lunch visitThe pier was beautiful even w the low tideAbsolutely recommend visiting

Lee

The staff is very friendly in the service is excellent They go out of the way to accommodate you as best as possible since I believe they were understaffed The property is gorgeous and very very quiet place to settle down for relaxation

The bartender William, at the pool provided excellent service and drinks Ashley provided excellent service at the restaurant and pool and other facilities on the property of which he provided services to the tenants I found it if needed Bed and towels and toiletries needed on a daily basis you would have to request that which we were not aware of I found the cleaning staff Is needing extra help to provide these daily room services The breakfasts provided in the main restaurant and pantry were great We will visit this resort again because my wife and I both had a great time!

Rob Poulsen

Low-key check-in, bar staff was helpful, hotel staff were wonderful, I 100% recommend Book earlier than you expect, because it’s very popular! The breakfast in the dining room was only okay, but I am chalking that up to lack of staff

I’ve had many real estate friends say it’s usually a great experience (The staff that we interacted with for the breakfast were very good, helpful, and knowledgeable, but were just stretched too thin)If you’re expecting to do dinner at the wharf restaurant, go early The food is good, seasonal, and well-prepared, but limited to what they have on-handthe staff will do their best to make your experience one to positively remember!

It is very reasonably priced, very clean, comfortable bed, and the location is excellent It is an easy walk over to the Beach Village My husband and I got an oceanside room and I like the layout – I am an early riser and the separate sitting room allowed me to get up and read the news sites while he could sleep in

The breakfast room is lovely with a fantastic ocean view to enjoy a hot breakfast And being an early riser, the fact that they start serving breakfast at 6:00 am meant I could get some coffee first thing This was my first trip to Jekyll Island and it is a peaceful place; I will visit again and when I do, you can be sure I will stay at Days Inn here

Wonderful location! Common areas are beautiful, several cool spaces to spend time with a group: 2nd floor breakfast room has wrap around windows, same downstairs where games are available Two pools, hot tub and campfire areas all centrally located and well maintained Beach access a short boardwalk over the dunes

Rooms are older, but you aren’t staying here to spend time in your room right? Lots of stars at night compared to the suburbs

Enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the Beachview Club Hotel! The hotel is great! Ms Diane and William were super accommodating I would have given it 5 stars if there had been a restaurant in the property or within walking distance that was better Room are clean and neat

AC had a little struggle late in the afternoon keeping the room cool but caught up during the night The pool is super nice and had nice lounge chairs, umbrellas, and beach towels Short walk to the beach to enjoy the sand and surf on a very uncrowded beach Property has several places to sit and enjoy the breezes under the big oak trees Will definitely return for another visit

By far one of the best places we have stayed at! The location is great! We were greeted by Jonesy & Mel, & offered champagne! They were SO welcoming and friendly! They were very informative of the area, provided us a detailed book of the islandWe were checked on during our stay by the front staff but also the housekeeping They were so welcoming and friendly, too!The hotel rooms are nice, and the bed was SO COMFORTABLE! We were on the bottom floor and parking was great! Walked out our back door to either the pool or the ocean

There’s tree shaded areas with benches to sit on that’s nice to enjoy, tooI highly recommend and will recommend this place to others!

Incredibly spacious suite with two bathrooms, massive balcony, close to beach, and easy walk to restaurants and shops As other reviewers have mentioned, the property is need in maintenance When we arrived, the elevator was out of service

Looking in past reviews this is a frequent occurrence The rooftop lounge was not open on Friday due to a broken pipe On the upside, the price for the room is reasonable, especially when compared to the properties near by

Carolyn Morales

Other reviews have said that updates could be done That’s true, but it’s still pretty amazing Though for the price

They weren’t ready for the check-in, the AC in the bedroom wasn’t working, and we never did figure out the tvHOWEVER, the tub is amazing, there were two bathrooms (!!), And the bed was amazingly comfortable We walked a half mile to a craft Fair at the pier, and walked the other way to Barrier Island Brewing Perfect locationProbably look for a cheaper place next time

Olga Curnen

First of all the front desk folks and the manager are amazing! Super welcoming and helpful They had elevator break this week and us being on the 4th floor was quite challenging But not much you can do

And they were very helpful!Few things to note It’s under a new management so I’m sure things will get better But the floors inside needs to be cleaned more, our feet were dirty just walking inside bare-feet It’s not a first line hotel and there is no pool!! And no breakfast serviceOtherwise it’s great, not sure I will count it as a 4 star

I had a beautiful time for my birthday weekend My room was a king size suite with balcony, which was nice Plenty of parking spaces

The shutter bus service was amazing I enjoyed being chauffeured around the island Front desk could use better customer service I was pleased with the location Shopping, food, gas and entertainment was very close I enjoyed the easy access to the beach as well as the bar The hotel food served at the bar was not the best Breakfast was basic, needs improvementI recommend the carriage/ trail ride and horse back riding on the beach I will definitely visit again This is a family friendly environment

Auggie Freeman

1 I would recommend to a family or couple2 Set your expectations accordingly

3 The place reminds me of why our mom would bring cleaning supplies when we traveledSome rooms are a little worn You definitely want to bring your cleaning wipes or Lysol to spray every surface in the room Door knobs, handles, remote control, and so on It always felt like I could be touching a germ But, keep in mind that I still said I’d recommend I was told this is typical for hotels near bodies of water The breakfast was Hotel breakfast and better than the typical hard danish There was a waffle stationThe kids and families that we saw all looked like they were having fun Especially, at the pool

Al S

Staff was great We were very happy there was a bar and the continental breakfast was very good The pier to the beach was right behind the hotel and we enjoyed grabbing a drink at the bar and walking out there every night

The bathroom could have been in better shape and the shower head needs to be replaced

I really enjoyed my 5 day stay The room was very clean and modern The water pressure was great, the TV was nice sized and the location is nice

I will say the TV is not a smart TV and the volume stops at 8 (won’t go any lower unless you mute) It is a little strange that it doesn’t have its own drive way You have to go turn into an auto place to get to the hotel We passed it up the 1st time I used the mini gym while I was here and it had all I needed The pool area is lovely The complementary breakfast is fair This location offers cookies around check-in time and always has coffee, hot tea (variety of tea bags) and hot chocolate (packets) available and free all day/night I thought that was a nice touch I definitely recommend staying here

Margo Williams

Rooms was nice Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast staff was very niceFront desk not very friendly

Not welcoming at check in We needed utensils because the delivery company didn’t bring any with our delivered food Front desk girl gave us wooden stir sticks saying that’s all they had but we knew otherwise as they have a full breakfast bar every morningThe lights went out for hours early in the night No communication from the desk of what happened or the estimated time they would go on No offer of compensation

Trisha Masters (crippin.d4)

The staff was very friendly Room was very nice overlooking Marsh Location was great

However you need to watch billing practices We stayed in February and I was billed twice Had to have it removed and they were great about it But in April I was billed again!! And I didn’t stay there at all at this time!! Kind of ridiculous that they couldn’t seem to get the billing right?!!

Jada Webb

There was loud construction! They did not have information on the website about any construction We were on the 1st floor and could here every step the people upstairs took There were children running back and forth constantly

It sounded like an herd of elephants We asked to be moved and the front desk said they were booked A quick search on the website determined that was untrue No housekeeping services We stayed three nights no fresh towels offered, when we requested 4 towels we were given 3 I would not recommend this place to an enemy

We just enjoyed a too-short one-night stay having flown into Jacksonville and heading north to Savannah and beyond Our room #207 was very spacious and comfortable Loved the wet bar with sink and mini-fridge

Exciting to see the lighthouse from the upper floors Easy walk to pier and village restaurants Nice pool area Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and welcoming During our short stay we enjoyed lunch at Barrier island Brewing, Happy Hour and dinner at Mullet Bay, and breakfast on the patio at Palm coast coffee( the hotel offers a continental breakfast but we did not see it since we wanted to go out) Very fun stay!!!

Ashley Danielle Attaway

Stayed in room 102, it was great cause of my dad’s foot issues and it wasn’t far to go We had a small bathroom, but there was another bathroom right down the hall so that helped The beds were really comfy

There is a really nice coffee maker with great hot chocolate in the lobby All the staff is extremely nice, and we loved Michelle on the night shift It’s right across from the museum, and within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, neptune park, and the pier

Suzanne Goard

We enjoyed our stay here Bedding was excellent and quarters very comfortable Location can’t really be topped

near beautiful beach, Neptune’s Park and various dining options Continental breakfast was very appreciated with an excellent coffee center, pastries, all sorts of muffins, bagels and cereals, plus yogurt and some fruit Front desk were personable and always helpful
