Two to three months ago, we requested 15 or so rooms for a weekend and were told to contact them at the time of the stay in order to ensure that the rooms were connected and in the same part of the hotel Only for us to be told day of that that would not be feasibleCheck-in was painful – we had to stay with our guests to help with the check-in process – and even then it took 1

5 hours for nearly every room to get checked in The staff seemed confused about who had/had not checked in and relied on a spreadsheet THAT WE CREATED in order to keep them organized For a “new/top class” hotel, their technology literacy could really use improvementTwo weeks later, we are dealing with incorrect charges on cards, higher than promised rates, confusion over guests’ names and their room charges, and staff who continue to pass us around and follow up with high-level details instead of taking the time to investigate what went wrong on their end We were considering this space for a wedding venue, but the utter frustration we have faced since has quickly ruled this place outThe hotel directs guests to a $10 / night overnight parking garage that takes forever to get out of The signage to get in and out of this hotel is unclear and there do not appear to be any plans to change it The hotel clearly relies on business travelers and knows itFinally, as of 6/16/22, we were offered the equivalent of one night free as compensation for our troubles We gave them 30 nights worth of business Will never come back nor recommend this place to anyone – wedding, regular stay, anything This has turned me off the Hyatt brand for personal use

Noel James

The hotel was nothing short of excellent The hospitality was amazing I stayed here for my birthday weekend and the front desk hostess, Catherine was amazing! She paid attention to every detail of my request and made sure that my needs were catered for

I had the King room with a view of the city And it was just gorgeous The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was equally up to par and scrumptious! It’s a gorgeous property that I would definitely revisit anytime I’m in Tysons

Tim O’Neill

The room was fine but it is a ‘pet friendly’ hotel which apparently means you can bring your dog to stay with you, leave it in the room and go out and party all night while it sits in the room alone howling Unbelievable! Good luck sleepingWho knows when the adjoining restaurant opens on a Sunday morning? Nearest place open at 7am for breakfast was Silver Diner a mile away

It was fantastic!

This is my second time staying at Why Hotel Tysons Corner My first stay went smooth and was perfect, In fact I did recommend your hotel to my family and friends Surprisingly when I checked in in the the second time after coming from a 6 hours flight I was given the keys to a room that had already people belongings in it

The lady at the front desk had no idea it was occupied So I went down to her and told her it was already occupied, she gave me the keys to another room, I opened the apartment and it had people cloth hanging and boots I went down again and told her its occupied, she told me maybe they kept their stuff behind When she came with me to check the room, a lady went out of that same apartment! Finally the 3rd try worked and she was able to find us a clean ready apartment

I wasn’t even able to book anything due to terrible reception I was unable to view the website, so I called Right off the bat, I explained that I was having website issues, so I needed to book live

I informed the receptionist that I was looking to stay 2 nights, and he said he would see what he could do After repeating back the wrong information multiple times, he finally told me there were rooms available: “Just look on the site to book” I hope I don’t have to explain why this was frustrating After I reiterated the details, he said in quite a haughty tone that reservations required a minimum of 4 nights as if it were obvious Why didn’t you just tell me that in the beginning when I laid out the details? He even laughed at me afterwards when I told him I didn’t realize this Looking back on the site, I do see an alert, but the alert itself isn’t very user-friendly if I’m being honest; it’s quite easy to miss-I was very disappointed because friends recommended this place, and they had such a good experience But if this is the the type of person who’s going to be working with guests, then WhyHotel isn’t worth my money, plain and simple Generalizing the whole staff as being disrespectful would be inaccurate and unfair, but it only takes one staff member to lose eager, paying customers Rude reception is never good for business I don’t doubt it’s a great place (the pictures look lovely), and I hope other people have a better experience, but this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth I don’t think I’ll ever be bringing my business back to WhyHotel

Van Freeman

The WhyHotel Tysons Corner is perfectly located, very easy to get around, and walking distance from bars, restaurants, and grocery stores, like Whole Foods The overall experience was great, with exceptionally clean rooms and everything you need to feel at home The Lobby staff was extremely helpful from the beginning, explaining the check-in process, and providing guidance bars and restaurants around the hotel at all hours of the night

the communication was super easy and quick and the place looks exactly like it does on pictures I would TOTALLY recommend it

This hotel was exceptional for our room block and rehearsal dinner for our wedding- Logistics: It has a continuous shuttle to/from the airport every 30 minutes that reliably transported 40 guests It was the furthest north-east Marriott we could find that had a continuous shuttle instead of an on-call shuttle

– Suites: Many of our guests told us after how much they loved their suites They were large but also reasonably priced- Event support: The space and service for our rehearsal dinner were great, and the hospitality suite conference room accommodated preparation for 9 bridal party members with 4 hair and makeup artists- Staff: The staff, especially Phillip, went above and beyond to accommodate our preferences, concerns, and last minute changes

While this hotel is the nice one in the area you can tell it is in dire need of updates From a leaking roof to the fitness center it’s a old hotel The breakfast which is $20 is robbery as it’s subpar food

In fact I believe free hotel breakfast at places like the holiday inn top the breakfast here Dinner is priced fine and tastes good The servers during breakfast are very niceThe gym is in dire need of updates and a working AC system It gets so incredibly hot and humid in there and adjusting the thermostat doesn’t seem to change anything Pool was closed , not sure if this is for good or notI seem to never be able to get anyone to bring towels I called three times one day, 30+ min apart and no one ever came up Likewise for wipes in the gym Have to always go grab them your selfParking is free and easyThe room is large and nice though showing it’s age with the TVs

Danielle Caneva

The location was great There is whatever you need pretty much within the shopping center so you don’t even need to walk anywhere Plenty of parking

Joy at the front desk was an absolute delight She was so friendly and helpful the entire time that I would go back to stay there just because of her Great customer service is hard to come by nowadays and she is the best!

Perfect location for a couples getaway The Oaks is in a quiet neighborhood but also fairly close to shopping and entertainment areas Breakfast was really nice – 5 star meal! The owner was very personable and provided anything we needed

Nothing better than having a wine and cheese “Happy Hour” right downstairs from our room We really enjoyed our stay!

Nestled in a beautiful neighborhood, The Oaks Bed and Breakfast doesn’t loom large over the other homes around it When you see it, you’d think it was just one of the many single homes in the area The overall lay out of The Oaks was perfect

The hosts Sharon and Quinton were fantastic, pleasant and very helpful! The entry way is very inviting and we were met with beautiful music when we entered The dining room, living room and sitting room are uniquely decorated and felt like homeI love that each bedroom has a theme and an en-suite bathroom I slept in the Zinfandel Room and found it be calming with a very comfortable bed It was well equipped with all of your needs and spotlessThe outdoor space is great! My favorite was the rooftop deck where I was able to enjoy the sun during the day and the moon and clouds at night The outdoor space in the back is a great place to hold a number of any intimate gatheringsI will end with the breakfast prepared by the hosts It was cooked with love! It was beautiful displayed in the dining room and we had a wide variety of food and beverages to choose fromIt was a great relaxing weekend getaway and I look forward to visiting again!

Attended this location for a business conference Hotel wasn’t complicated to navigate and staff was friendly and willing to be helpful I thought the food was some of the best I’ve had at any resort

Even means made in mass for the entire group were very good Bar was a very nice size to spread out if you wanted Rooms were good, nothing overly special but clean and nice Would definitely do it again

Arik D. Brown

I picked this place for a short distance getaway to celebrate my wedding anniversary Some of the reviews my wife read were not accurate Thankfully we didn’t listen to them and stayed here

We had a great time!It is a nice mini resort The rooms were nice and clean and the service was great We ate primarily at the resort and enjoyed our food and the atmosphere Great gym and pool I’m not a golfer but the course looked nice The Spa is FABULOUS I highly recommend this place!

chintu sharma

So my only gripe is still there The bathroom sink set in the middle of the bathroom has a table leg that sits in the middle My foot hits that every time I stay there

Otherwise the location, bars, ambience, food, golf and setting are excellentI love the pool and spa I want more time here Also a great setting for weddings, just a beautiful well curated set for an important moment

The stay was nice The hotel is clean and we appreciated the ability to grab a coffee from the bar in the mornings The pillows are terrible, mega soft with no medium firmness option like most hotels offer

The bathroom/shower situation is weird Why is the light switch outside of the bathroom & not necessarily close to the strange french doors? Why is there no fan in the bathroom? Why is there no door/shower curtain to the stand-up shower? Water all over the floor & a soaked floor towel The a/c worked great but seems there’s no insulation between rooms because the a/c kicks on and it’s instantly frigid but the second it kicks back off all cool air seems to dissipate Our solution was to keep the temp lower so it would run more often just to combat the still warm air that would instantly envelop our roomUltimately, there wasn’t anything wrong with our stay but next time we’re in town we will likely try a different hotel at the same price point to try our luck for better overall comfort

Joy Mayfield

Stayed only 1 night, flew out the next day but I have to say I was very impressed by this hotel…especially management When there was an error on my bill, the General Manager M Miller emailed me and took care of it immediately and was VERY helpful

The hotel itself is very nice, the room was clean and comfortable and the decor was classy The staff were very pleasant and polite I highly recommend this establishment to anyone needing a great hotel for their stay in the Dulles area!

Pamela Moorman

Hotel and bar were great! However, once I turned the heat off in the room

I did smell a hint of mildew I then noticed that there had been a leak according to the ceiling in the bathroommy room was was located on the top floor (6, and thought I took a picbit didn’t – sorry) There was also used tissues in the bedside drawerOn the good noteDaniel at the bar was absolutely FANTASTICgreat communicator as well as mixologist! All staffing was pretty goodno complaints there Would I go backYes!

Micheal Peters

The room was a good sized suite Everything was clean and in working order It’s a convention center, and some history about the Postal Department spread throughout

The decor was a bit dated, but very tasteful The Pony Express, the lounge was closed and the restaurant had limited availability, probably due to COVID-19 or personnel, or both The staff was exceptional! They were helpful and friendly, and went out of their way for our party If I am back on Potomac, I would consider staying again

Rachel KS

Outdated, small, stuffy, and mildew-smelling rooms with old furniture – like a desk chair with the vinyl seat peeling away The ac did not remove much humidity in the hotel rooms The staff were friendly and helpful, and the meeting space was good, but it did not function well for the hybrid setup we needed

The cafeteria food was well above average, especially the delicious and perfectly-cooked seafood The coffee was not a hit Beautiful grounds

Matt Alonso

Rooms were a little dated, but not awful The humidity in the rooms was terrible and everything (walls, towels, etc) was consistently dampGrounds were gorgeous

Staff was exceptional Food was quite good

This place is an unbelievably good deal The rooms are HUGE (be sure to ask for a tower room) It’s a bit of a drive from DC, but we plan on staying here any time we come back

This hotel offers an experience you typically don’t get unless you’re spending an additional $100-200 per night Be sure to walk to the town square in Rockville where you’ll find families with kids playing in the water park when the weather is warm Great hotel for families

Anonymous

The staff is very unfriendly we said hello and attempted to be friendly after making 8 hour trip with a baby But, They did not say hello or welcomed to the hotel

“keys, wifi, elevator to the left” is all they said we asked for a change to do laundry, and the staff refused There was no coffee in the morning, and 2 staff were talking to each other while guests were waiting for coffee Location and building are fine, but service is terrible

Mike Larrick

OK but quite expensive for the quality Rooms are clean and large, but not a lot to write home about No bath, only basic cable

They will charge you $20 for parking, which seems scammy They tell you they’ll validate parking but don’t mention they’ll charge you for it For a hotel on the outskirts of beltway suburbia, you’d think they would include that with the room I didn’t take a boat in Also they will send you spam emails and texts to sign up for their club

I had an excellent stay here The rooms are clean and modern Bathroom shower was great, love the rain head

Free parking is convenient and seemed secure Check-in staff was fantastic and accommodating when I missed a flight There was some wind noise in my room, but I’m not going to count it against the hotel (since I didn’t ask for a different room) The hotel is close to the highway, shopping and restaurants are nearby I would stay here again

Shia Ivey

THE STAFF, Large room, comfy beds, clean bathroomThe staff was very accommodating and super sweet and hospitable My family’s power was out a little over 2 days due to a recent snow storm

They made sure we were comfortable, that we had everything we needed, and the check in process was stress free I will definitely be staying again but hopefully not due to the recent circumstances

Friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds The deadbolt and lock did not work on our door, beware of those issues The continental breakfast is practically non-existent and some of the vending machines were broken/ate our dollars

For what is it, I agree with other reviews that it is overpriced, but would stay again if needed

Voilstead Kearney

My review is based on my recent stay at the Red Roof Inn, Leesburg, VA on July 8 – 10, 2022 Upon my check in on the 8th, Scott the manager, made my experience at this hotel a first class experience Scott asked if I would like a lower leveled room on the first floor so that I wouldn’t have to tote my baggages to the 2nd floor and I accepted

I couldn’t had asked for a nicer room He made my weekend stay PERFECT!! Thanks a bunch Scott I’m so glad that you work at this hotel

Stayed for a few days in November, would definitely come back and visit again The rooms are clean and very nice and comfortable, the whole building felt new and modern and well taken care of Staff was very friendly and helpful

Breakfast is the standard sort of continental breakfast, it was fine I picked this hotel over other options because of the kitchenette, and that was very convenient even for a short stayLocation wise this is fantastically located for Reston, it’s located in a business park which was quiet and felt very safe It’s about 6 minutes driving from Whole Foods and 10 minutes from the Reston Town Center, down the main road which is a very easy drive It’s also very close to the train station

Check in was very thorough and quick and helpful The hotel is very very spacious and beautiful and clean The rooms are very spacious as well and high ceilings I love it

For $270/night I was expecting a bit more You can book the Ritz across the street for around that price! The property was very clean and well maintained, but the decor felt quite dated No microwave and no free breakfast either

I’ve now stayed at all three Marriott properties in Tysons Corner The only one I will stay at again is the one on Rt 7 just off 495

Tom Marcin

A two-bit hotel with horrible air-conditioning Unhelpful front desk As soon as i walked in the hotel i became so horribly congested each night I couldn’t sleep

I should have left after first night Will never go back even though my office is across the street They don’t even offer a bottle of water to their guests who pay OVER $400+ on some nightsWhat a hot mess No amenities in the roomNot only will I not return to this Courtyard, i vow to never do any Marriott properties the rest of my lifeHilton, here i come

Robertq Quarture

I am a loyal Marriott Platinum member I am extremely disappointed in the new customer service, where you need to await your call for anything, to be answered by outsourced Customer Service The minimum wait is usually 10 minutes and they have no idea what they are talking about

They recite policy and have no flexibility My issue was a sudden death of a very close family member and Marriott would not refund a pre paid hotel night I will have no problem taking all my business and my company business elsewhere I have banned the use of any Marriott brand within our company It is a shame what Marriott has become!!

Conveniently located, the Residence Inn by Marriott Tysons delivers on expectations My only issue was that they wanted to charge $8 for a 125 ounce bag of beef jerky

The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very functional It’s perfect as a shorter-term residence hotel My room was quiet and everything worked Good breakfast in the morning and friendly and helpful staff Will definitely stay here again when I’m next in the area

I stayed a this location week before last and again this week Each time I asked for later check out Last week now problem but this week then rules change The representative guaranteed me late check-out by 2 the lady at the front desk kept ringing the phone with the cleaning lady banging on the door at 12pm I called the front desk with a rude and unprofessional Clerk then was told I need to leave the room by 12:30 I told the Clerk I was calling there Corporate Office then she said you can stay until 1 pm

Corporate Office was notified still waiting for someone to call me back THE MIXED INFO IS A BIG PROBLEM WHEN YOU’RE SPENDING MONEY NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS

We had a plumbing issue in our suite and asked to be moved instead of waiting for a repair We were moved to another room quickly and appreciated the efficiency with how this was handled The breakfast buffet was great the one morning we woke up in time to get to it

If possible a shut down time of 10am instead of the 9am current time would be better for those of us on vacation who sleep a bit later after a long day of driving

The staff is friendly and courteous The hotel amenities are pretty good, and the location is good for business travel when heading away from the bigger metro areas Water pressure in the shower leaves a lot to be desired, and the room I had on the first floor could hear the toilets flush above me on the second floor

There was also a constant clang and bang from the mechanical room Hotel did not honor my reservation for the type of ada room I booked; therefore they receive 3 of 5 stars

First, the good:- really close to the airport- friendly staff- comfy beds and couch- clean- decent breakfast, though it closes at 9:00 ON THE DOT Don’t think you’re getting a second cup of coffee at 9:01Now the could be better:It appears whoever designed these rooms never stayed in a hotel before

1) Toilet and shower in one room, sink out in the main area, but there was no vanity or mirror in the shower room, so if you were sharing a room with family members and didn’t want to change in front of everyone, you would have to put your clothes and toiletries on the floor of the bathroom2) The vanity is just a top, no drawers so the hair dryer is stored across the room by the coffee area3) Why can’t we have an actual coffee pot anymore? The single-serve coffee pods are wasteful

We had a fantastic stay this weekend We spent three nights in room 304 The room was very large, clean and I loved the layout

The bathroom was large too Hot breakfast every morning with eggs, French toast sticks, bacon/sausage, juice, fruit, yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, coffee & tea Not to mention there is a small bar area off of the receptionist counter is you want a drink or two Hotel is closed to dozens of restaurants, plazas, etc I have no complaints whatsoever, and if I find myself back in this area I will be staying here again

Stayed just a night on March 10 and was pleased overall but it wasn’t a home run The room was real nice, clean and spacious, typical Hyatt Place Breakfast was fine, staff was very friendly, room perfect, so all the basics are there

Things started bumpy however I called for the airport shuttle around 6pm and was told it will arrive “in about 15 minutes” It arrived 38 minutes later which is not fun when it’s low-40s outside The heating unit did not blow warm air and the room was a bit chilly A maintenance person came up and I was told a new unit had been installed earlier that day I told him there was no reaction with the new thermostat but it was inspected and he said it would be a few more minutes, should be working After several minutes it still blew cool air so I went to front desk to request another room, which was cheerfully provided I understand these are one-off events and would probably not be encountered so it’s not a dealbreaker for a repeat visit A couple minor things which are insignificant in the grand scheme but it’s the little detailsThe room had just one single thin silver-dollar size soap It’s okay to cheap out on soap but how about providing two so you don’t have to move this little thing back and forth to the shower? Further evidence of watching the pennies was with the toilet paper, the near see-through single-ply variety, the same kind you find in a campground pit toilet; even the rattiest Motel 6 offers better I stayed at the Hyatt Place Dulles South Chantilly in the same week and will choose that one over the Sterling location next visit Both provided the same level of comfort, value and satisfaction but at HP Chantilly you get real soaps and real toilet paper 🙂 There’s also better food options at Chantilly if you’re venturing out on foot

We appreciate the layout and amenities offered in Hyatt Place properties The location of this property was good for us: close enough to restaurants and businesses we were visiting on this trip The bed was comfortable – and the floor was very quiet, even though the property is near the airport

Breakfast was available, but uninspiring – and since we had recently lived in the area, we preferred elsewhere

The team at Comfort Suites went out of their way to make our stay comfortable We had our baby with us and arrived much earlier than check in time They got us into our room immediately, checked on us to make sure we had everything, and even gave us two extensions on our check out time when our baby was still napping

The hotel itself could use some updates, but it is comfortable and spacious We did not use the pool or exercise facilities
