All ran smoothly and the staff were all exceptionally attentive and wen above and beyond Sarah at family farm yard experience was super with very young children and Ford at the dining hall went out of his way to get kids seated, helping with napkins, coloring activity and placing everything on the table to help kids stay out of trouble Phone reservations and servicing ran smoothly

I would prefer 2 queen size beds and a mini fridge in the room but overall we were happy

Arthur Alexander

Great cost benefit if you’re looking for a resort for a family trip Oglebay turned out to be an amazing experience for our mini vacation with our children with plenty of options surround the whole facility: Good Zoo, Splash Park, pedals at the lake, lovely walks in the gardens A few things to say here:- our stay was from Sunday to Tuesday, which a few restaurant options were closed during that time

– although they advertise many food options, beware that the menus lack in food diversity specially for gluten free dietary restrictions- some attractions are lacking maintenance, which in part seems comprehensive given to its humongous structureThis review could have been easily a four stars, but overall, we were so impressed by the landscape and especially by the staff dealing with customers upfront that it went up to five stars

Daniel Brito

What a beautiful place We went there because we had a wedding on Friday, June the 10th and after the wedding we decided to stay there a little longer to experience the resort And oh my goodness I’m so sad that we can’t come here as often because it is amazing from the scenery to the rooms to the service is so luxurious and amazing

There’s so many places to go and even if you don’t go to all the attractions just walking around the resort is amazing day and night Totally recommend anybody who lives around that area and once they find a good place to spend time

I loved this hotel Honestly, the location for our basketball tournament was perfect, and the housecleaning staff was beyond friendly!I do want to mention however, that the front desk workers were less than enthusiastic about having children present We were reminded numerous times through the day and evening of the “quiet time” policy

And often the staff would shush us if we were in the lobbyI understand the need for “quiet time” and that the lobby closes at 11 for guest comfort But to turn off the fire pit while guests are sitting quietly around it was rude I felt like a teenager who was on restrictionAlso, you are located in a place that is clearly aimed at sporting events It has to be about 75 percent of your revenue in that location With that, I would have hoped and almost expected that the kids could have had a little more fun at the actual hotelSome of our younger team were playing a sort of board game in the lobby after eating dinner, not running and being obnoxious, and they were told to be quieter The front desk clerk was counting the minutes to us for when the lobby would close He must have reminded us about 10 times in a 40 min period that we needed to leave the lobby at 11pmMaybe loosen up, just a bit? We enjoyed the amenities and accommodations, but we’re constantly concerned that we were going to be reprimanded or told to be quieter or leave an area

I give this hotel 45 stars The hotel is very clean

The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful The room was much larger than we expected and the little kitchenette area was very nice We also had plenty of towels & the basic toiletries The free breakfast was good and had a nice selection of basic breakfast foods and two hot items I did use the pool which was average size and well stocked with towels This hotel is close to local shopping and restaurants and is only about 8 miles from Wheeling Island and Ogelbay Park The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because of the pillows They were flat as pancakes My husband and I both had stiff necks all weekend from trying to sleep on them But certainly not a deal breaker We will definitely use this hotel in the future (only will bring our own pillows)

Kerra Penn

I never leave reviews, but this an exception My Fiance and I stayed here last weekend for the Heritage Blues Festival We had some issues with our car being stuck in Wheeling

, which added some very real challenges to our visit It’s a long story, so I won’t get into the details, but let me just say the staff went WAY above and beyond and helped us We will be forever grateful Exceptional level of customer service Thank you!!!

You can experience very clean room and facilities Even 4-5 stars hotels, the employees usually show perfunctory courtesy However, the employees are very kind and their services are excellent

For examples, I was wonder what I can enjoy with free of charge When I asked it the employees, they explain the coffee 24/7 and some fruits at the lobby Also they explain what will be served at the breakfast I asked whether it is possible to be provided the round sausage because my 6 years old son really wanted it They provided it gladly The best service and employees throughout my life of traveling

We have stayed here twice now and both times this Hampton Inn did not disappoint! The staff and manager are all so friendly and welcoming The rooms are clean and comfortable The pool area is great for kids who need to get some energy out or adults to relax in steam room or hot tub

The grounds are well kept and beautiful The breakfast was wonderful too and the staff kept everything well stocked and delicious! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! We will be back!

Billie Shepard

We cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at this hotel, this gorgeous quaint town and the amazingly kind people of Wheeling First the hotel was beautiful, updated, and immaculate Second the staff was wonderful, kind and so helpful

Third our room was perfect, clean, and had everything we needed The pool area was very clean, had a waterfall, an inside hot tub, two steam showers, an outside hot tub and a splash pad for kids Plus they had an amazingly beautiful outside seating area with a fire pit Sharon was our shuttle driver and took us to and back from Figaretti’s for dinner, recommended by hotel staff, local and to be honest we have never had such a delicious meal! It is those details that make you our #1 Hampton Inn in the US!!!

The room was as to be expected but what gives this place 5 stars? The service While ordering food late at night, the hostess made a call on her personal phone to insure my food would be done and delivered on time The next morning my truck wouldn’t start

The hotel manager stood out in the rain to help me jump off my battery Great all around!!!

Our stay here was great! The employees were extremely nice and helpful I found a stain on our bedsheets and asked them to be changed when we first checked in Instead of just changing it, they transferred us to a different room and closed off the initial room to be cleaned entirely

The rest of our room was tidy and a comfortable size for the two of us The location was perfect! Close to the highway, but isn’t noisy because it’s on a hill The mall, walmart, and restaurants were all within a mile’s distance I would come back again

Dena Marie Monticone

The rooms are very pleasing to the eyes and the rooms are very clean and comfortable This is more of a $100+ room/night motel rather than what they charged me The Red Roofs that I stayed in as a kid were not as nice as this one

There was a mini-fridge and a microwave The shower had a handle bar attached to the back wall that one could grip for balance That was nice as the tub did seem like it could get slippery My only real complaint is very small: The fan and the light for the bathroom turn on together — with the same switch on the wall The fan is a bit annoying to me But if I want to see, then I must turn it on Anyway, the staff do what is required of them, I would say They are nice when you ask for something (like toilet paper) I did not go without anything while here I had everything that I needed This was such a pleasant time for me overall Thank you

Dennis Doty

Our power was out at home along with my sons, brother and neighbor this winter It was freezing out! They managed to get us all a warm clean room quickly So grateful they accommodated us

Also my brother needed accommodations for nearly a month until his house was done, he was very satisfied with his stay enjoying free coffee every morning! They also accommodated the dogs free of charge👍

Staff at this hotel are exceptional They really care about their clients and they take pride in their jobs and making sure that you are taken care of professionally It’s a great hotel in a great location

Lot’s of restaurants in walking distance or very close by The suites have full kitchenettes: two burner stove, microwave, full sink, dishwasher, coffee maker, and apartment size fridge All necessities are provided: dishes, utensils, and cookware (our pots and pan was really scratched but we didn’t cook in the room) The hotel offers a free laundry area (bring your detergent) but we didn’t use it but for long term guests it’s a great benefit and the laundry room was clean and well maintainedBreakfast was one of the best I’ve had a hotel; eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, different breads for toasting (bagels, English muffins, etc), muffins, and other continental breakfast items you normally see in a hotel, were offered each morning There is a pancake machine – which makes the best little pancakes and no mess – you push a button and about a minute later out pops two of best little pancakes you can imagine And no mess like you see with hotel waffle machinesRooms are super quiet, once we closed the door there was absolutely no noise at all; even though walking up to our door we could our next door neighbors talking in their room Also, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a hotel

This is for the St C locationNot very happy with a place that ruins wedding plans Booked a room weeks in advance as I did 3 months ago with my bank card and was able to rent it

Get told they don’t take bank debit cards and haven’t for years Which is a lieThey want the room for someone else and just wanted to ruin our after wedding plansThanks ABV you really know how to make Thinks even more stressful

Michelle Watkins

So I have to start by apologizing to the great folks at ABV, I promise to never cheat on you guys again! My husband and I stay cation here a couple times a year in the awesome jacuzzi suites We were coming in town with our kids and chose another hotel and holy cow what a mistake that was As soon as we decided we didn’t want to stay where we were because of disrespectful guests

I called because my booking app showed no rooms available so with a wing and a prayer they did have some available and has us booked in a matter of minutes with in 20 minutes we were packed up and moving hotels When we arrived and I was just chatting with the awesome woman at the front desk about what we just had happend while she was checking us in and she went above and beyond and even gave us a discount The room had substantial more room and even a table we could eat at and play cards (The other hotel (days inn) please see review for full details) had a desk with a broken computer chair we couldn’t sit in because it was broke No real space in the room and the smallest bathroom I’ve ever been in) we had plenty of room here and the bathroom is literally triple the size Our overall experience was 100x better than the one we had been at prior Lesson absolutely learned the grass isant always greener From now on we will always book with them no matter the event of us being there

Archer Grey

Only real complaints are the beds are small and the mattress is hard The tub is narrow and can be slickThe little induction top ain’t the greatest for cooking, but you can make basic food items with it

The service has been top notch The employees are sweetharts They’re very friendly and willing to help if ya need anything

I chose this location due to ease of access for trailering a car and because they are pet friendly The front desk representative was really kind and he was helpful Though I’ve never had to fill out a paper with personal information to stay at a hotel before

Which was odd to me and I stay at plenty of hotels The place wasn’t busy but for some reason they put me in front of the elevator next to people in a room next door The walls in this hotel are paper thin, I could hear the voices talking next door until midnight, which was terrible for trying to get some sleep Also, the elevator going off and people slamming the doors through the night were super easy to hear Easily the worst night of sleep I’ve ever had at a hotel, if you care about quiet, I’d recommend staying somewhere better built I’m only giving this place a 2nd star based on their pet friendly policy and trailer access

Carlos Morales

Horrible stay I checked in at around 2am from traveling all day and night to find out that they almost canceled my booking that I already paid for upfront becauseI arrived at 2am and I booked and paid for it at around 11:45pm So when I got my room, it was dirty (see photos)

The air conditioner kept making a screeching noise on and off throught out my night The breakfast was horrendous Hot food was actually cold food So disgusting Never again Staff did nothing for me

kenneth render

Nice clean place and location Only major problem that I had was THE STINK BUGS!! I don’t do well with bugs we had to change rooms The front desk clerk just laughed 🤣🤣, heck we all laughed I must admit they are use to them we are not

but other than that nice clean rooms The second room had some things missed but I would stay again only after I make sure there is no bugs😯😯😯😯😯 of course rooms may be small but ours was great You want a bigger room then get a suite🤔🤔🤔🤔duh

The room was clean and comfortable! They even have brand name tea in the rooms! The breakfast was great with the delicious omelets vs the typical scrambled eggs A great variety of other breakfast items! The staff is friendly and helpful! I wish all the other more expensive choice hotel locations would take a lesson from this location and step up their game!! This location is a hidden gem!! Don’t let their economical price scare you! They are 100% in our “WILL stay here again list”

Alex Rogers

I visit Steubenville frequently, and this is my favorite place to stay on those trips The half hour drive to St Clairsville is more than justified by a consistently positive experience at this hotel

For a surprisingly low nightly rate, you get a comfortable, clean, and quiet room The staff is always courteous and the facilities are beautifully maintained There are nice little touches too, like flavored water and cookies in the lobby in the evening In my experience, Comfort Inns and other Choice hotel brands tend to be hit or miss, but this particular location is a consistent hit on every visit

Absolutely 5 stars for the generous playtime their slots give I’m used to playing in a casino where it’s hard to catch a bonus Every machine I played on at Wheeling gave bonuses

Even if the wins were small they came often I played for 5 hrs Sunday night, and walked away $500 to the good Decided to press my luck Monday morning for another 5 hrs, and gained $300 moreAll the staff I ran across was polite, and helpfulI didn’t eat there so I can’t rate the foodWhere improvement is needed is the outside grounds It needs a good bit of TLC Something as simple as picking up the 100’s of cigarettes buds along the entrance path would make a great improvementThe grand escalators upon entering looks dirty and well over usedI’m still giving a 5 stars because I had a great time in the casino, enjoying their loose slots

Megan Váh

Went there for a weekend The craps tables were hot and we had a great time until we played poker The one tall guy that usually runs the room is always super friendly and knowledgeable

He always speaks with us like we are regulars and we travel up there because the room has been one of the best around recently and the atmosphere and dealers were great we were having a good time until his coworker took over She knew absolutely nothing about the game ,spent most of the time complaining about her coworker and having to stay late ,then shut down the tables early and when someone asked her about how the players felt she told them “I don’t care about the players” and “I’m the boss I’ll run this room however I want” Well, if that’s the attitude the casino supports we will just go somewhere else My husband and I have never felt like we weren’t wanted as customers but that lady made us feel like we were a bother Plus, I thought that casinos make money off of players,so why would she chase off money so she can “go home”? All in all we took quite a bit of money there and wanted to just spend it and have a good time

Brian Snyder

Overall not a horrible trip, but definitely not a top casinoStayed 1 night and the hotel room was nice and clean which I would rate it highThe actual casino it self lacked new game options

There seemed to be a limited number of some of the top ones It was impossible to get a beer with only one stand openThe buffet lacked options The food it self was good but it was extremely limited and was very disappointing from a price stand point with not many choicesBetting on the dog races was a fun experience again and helped bring this rating up a bit
